Also attending the proceedings was legendary producer Phil Spector, who received a Special Q Award. When video clips of some of Spector’s best-known recordings were played on a giant screen, Paul stood up and applauded an excerpt of John’s “Stand By Me” (which Spector didn’t actually produce!), but when Phil took to the stage to make a speech, Paul got up from his seat and walked out.
