luca marinelli character FIGHT: Quarter Finals
ARGUMENTS (spoilers below, and feel free to reblog with your own!):
Martin:
has worked as a miner and a sailor before
his introduction/inciting incident is getting into a fight with a guy and this happens a couple other times off the top of my head. so definitely able to fight someone else and win
Paolo:
“He is a soft, precious Cinnamon Roll. Yes, no one asked him to involve himself with Mia. He kind of butts in and she takes advantage. But, he's so kind. He does start to challenge her about her family, with predictable results. But, there are so many character beats and soft scenes where Luca fully communicates everything you need to know about Paolo without saying a word. I cry on that last line EVERY time.”
if he loses it will make one anonymous submitter sad

NAUR. im thinking about how we learn that paolo was literally such a silent child throughout his entire time at the orphanage. a silent child, a silent adult... he's back in the halls of his childhood home and the nun recognizes his face but does not remember his name. and he's silent through it all

The power of my associative mind and realising that i now know 2 stories of orphaned men who are desperate for a family and, like, this is all bruce wayne and paolo guerrisi have in common 😆 But please, for the love of all that is holy, matt reeves, give us robin. You can have my kidney and all. I'm manifesting this so hard it's unreal. You can stick with the biblical themes even! It's practically a walk in the park!

i'm trying to pick up italian (mostly for work), do you have any podcast/tv/movie recommendations? i need to immerse myself in the language a bit more :)
i always recommend older italian movies for beginners because actors still had a modicum of good diction back then but if you're more interested in more modern stuff off the top of my head i'd say
il giovane favoloso (2014)
antonia (2015)
il padre d'italia (2017)
capri revolution (2018)
martin eden (2019)
il traditore (2020)
il signore delle formiche (2022)
le otto montagne (2022)
