Spoilers for Avatar: The Way of Water A whole ass lot.
Crying cuz I forgot to mention the reader is not identical to Kiri or Grace. I'm so stupid, it's literally a big plotline and I completely grazed over it. I hope you all just assumed that cuz if not.... idk now you know.
Tell me your thoughts!! I have everything planned out like I said but I'm indecisive if I want to kill Neteyam and give the reader a darker arc or keep Neteyam alive and have the readers stay more moral so share with me which one you would like to see more.
Tumblr media
You rubbed the sleep out of your eyes as you and Neteyam prepared for your early morning duty of feeding the Ikran. As the two oldest you have more responsibility than the others, not that you mind, you've always loved tasks that kept you busy.
" You think they'd eat this?" Neteyam whispered lifting up a bright orange fish with bug eyes. You scoffed in disgust, flicking the weird fish out of your face." I wouldn't test it. Look at its face." You poked the dead fish, watching it jiggle.
" I would never feed my baby that." Neteyam rolled his eyes, you took the Ikran's health a bit too seriously in his opinion. You didn't allow them to eat or try anything new, the fear of accidental poisoning was the explanation you gave when you were asked about your weird monitoring habit.
You finished collecting food for the Ikrans and headed out with Neteyam, who was having trouble holding his head up." Sometimes I wish we could sleep in." He yawned, rubbing his eyes and dragging his hand down his face.
" I'm sure you'll be fine." You turned around to face him, your thoughts quickly taken over by Aonung who was walking behind you with something in his arms. Your ears flattened quickly and Neteyam turned his head slightly to peak over his shoulder.
" Fantastic, just what we needed." You snarled under your beath and Neteyam kicked some sand at you." Shut up, he's the chiefs son." Neteyam scolded you and you rolled your head to the side in annoyance.
Neteyam turned back to the front as Aonung eyed you as you turned forward away from his pointed gaze. You turned your sight towards the waters, spotting Tsireya and Rotxo in the water. They seemed to be ushering something in the water towards the shallow area.
" What do you think they're doing?" Neteyam questioned, readjusting his hold on his basket. You shrugged, focusing on the path before you." Let's just go feed the Ikran's and go eat breakfast."
After feeding them their fish, you and Neteyam walked back to your Marui. You were starving, hoping there was at least a little left for both of you. Considering Tuk and her big appetite would swallow a whole table of food.
As you got closer to the stairs you saw Tsireya standing next to them, talking to her brother rather aggressively. You've never seen her look that irritated before and you watcher her stomp off as Aonung huffed and walked towards the water.
" Family drama at its finest." You shook your head and Neteyam chuckled." If that was you and Lo'ak you'd be scratching and hissing at each other." You feigned offence, holding your hand to your chest." Me? Agressive towards my brother?" You waved your hand up and down in his face and rolled your head to the side with a dramatic sigh." It seems you do not know me brother. I am truly baffled and saddened by your false accusations."
He smirked, mimicking your eye roll." Perhaps we left my actual sister back in the forest and you're a hallucination because my (y/n) religiously punches her brother in the head." He pinched you." See look my fingers slightly went through you. You don't exist."
You snorted, poking his ribcage. He pretended to not feel a thing and gasped, acting shock." No way, I didn't feel a thing!" You stuck out your bottom lip." How could I be fake? I'm too gorgeous for your simple mind to comprehend, you would never be able to create such a flawless being with that brain of yours."
You dramatically flipped your hair, but you were too aggressive, and a bead hanging on the end of one of your braids swung around, hitting your right eye.
" OW! Shit!!" You cried, covering your eye that was currently burning excruciatingly. Neteyam laughed at you, holding his stomach. His laughs got more historical as you sent him a disgusted look and tears ran out of your eye.
" Why are you laughing! What if I popped a vein in my eye!" You yelled, smacking him as you kept your eye closed. He rolled his eyes; he continued to giggle and covered his mouth with the back of his hand. " I'm not even sure it works like that."
" What? Are you calling me stupid?" You put your hand on your eye, tears continuing to fall. " What would be new about that?" You scoffed, flicking his shoulder." Anyways let's get some breakfast before it's all gone."
"Ok.." There was a pause as you guys started walking again." Race you!" He cried, not even warning you as he took off. You growled in frustration." I'm not racing you!"
" Lame-o, I'll be eating your breakfast then!" He cried and you just rolled your eyes, or eye as your other one was still burning. You slowed down your walking pace, enjoying the peace and quiet.
It didn't last long though because you felt a tap on your shoulder, a grunt following. You turned around, a scowl on your face." What?" You barked at Aonung who was holding a rag in one of his hands.
" I saw your idiot self hit your eye." He stated taking your hand that was covering your right eye and placed a cool cloth in it." I don't need your cloth." You huffed, placing it back in his hand and he groaned.
" Just take it!" He scowled, placing the towel on your eye this time, forcing you to take it and hold it. It made the burning sensation immediately calm down, it felt great, but you weren't about to admit that to Aonung.
An angry pout formed on your face and Aonung smirked at your annoyance." See? You did need my cloth." He whispered arrogantly in your face, and his smirk widened into a grin watching your face contort into disgust. " Stop flirting Aonung we still need a few more things for today's training." His sister called from behind him, and he immediately took a step back from you, giving her a scoff.
You didn't even realize how close he got to your face because of the annoyance of just him being there. You turned your head to Tsireya who held a smirk of amusement on her face. You bowed your head a bit in greeting and took Aonung's towel off your eye.
You threw it at his chest which he caught with a growl." I wasn't flirting, just trying to be nice to this stuck-up brat." He taunted you and you snarled at him. Your eye still hurt so you kept it shut, you rubbed it lightly. You hit your eye surprisingly hard so it would probably be red for a little while.
You turned on your foot sharply, lifting your chin up at him. His amused laugh rang from behind you, and you heard Tsireya smack him.
When you arrived back at your families Marui your breakfast had gotten cold. You still ate it but blamed it heavily on Aounung's 'kindness'.
" Let's gooooo." Tuk whined, pulling your face from your food as you tried to shovel the remaining fish into your mouth." Slow down, you do not want to choke." Neytiri informed, cleaning up Tuk's area and watching in a bit of amusement as you gulped down the rest.
" I just don't want to be late." You explained as you stood up as Tuk continued to pull your arm. She hummed." Have fun." She called out and you saluted, quickly rushing out of the Marui to catch up to your siblings.
You made your way to the water where everyone was waiting for you and Tuk." Finally." Aonung grumbled, earning an elbow from Tsireya." Today we will be teaching you how we transport from place to place in the water." She explained, ushering you all into the sea.
Once you got waist deep you all stopped. Aonung clicked and let out a call. An animal came swimming by, doing a circle and another one came to a halt next to Aonung. " These are ilu." He pointed his hands at them, as you watched the animal move.
"If you want to live here-" He started until a hiccup came from you, and you quickly covered your mouth. You looked shyly away from his annoyed gaze as your ears heated up in embarrassment." Sorry, ate too fast."
Although he was disgusted with the idea of him being attracted to you, he found you a bit cute in this moment. You weren't being obnoxious or aggressive, there was no sign of the aggravating girl he just met.
It only lasted for a second though, because Lo'ak laughed at you causing you to scowl. Of course Aonung doesn't like you though, one moment can't shape his whole view of you. No, no, he definitely isn't attracted to you, not even a little.
He rolled his eyes." You have to ride." He finished his sentence and you hiccupped again. His ears went slightly back in annoyance." Will you stop." He barked at you and your scoffed." I'm not doing it on purpose." You fought back and Tsireya hopped in the middle, trying to deescalate the situation.
" How about we ride now." She smiled and Neteyam pinched your ear that was still red." I will take Lo'ak and Tuk." Tsireya said with a smile, and you grumbled under your breath as you and Neteyam moved over to Aonung.
" You go first." You suggested to Neteyam, shoving his arm in the ilu's direction. And Neteyam glared at you, not liking your demanding tone. You only smirked at him as Aonung led him over to the ilu.
He began explaining something to Neteyam who paid attention inventively, unlike you who was slowly trying to back away and leave." Where do you think you're going?" Aonung questioned, he grabbed your forearm, pulling you towards him.
You sighed, as your shook your head in annoyance and he scowled. He kept his hand around your forearm forcing you in place." Pay attention." He scolded; he didn't feel like getting into trouble because you didn't want to bother to learn.
You turned your head towards Lo'ak who was already on his ilu ready to ride. You tapped Neteyam's shoulder with the back of your hand and he turned, briefly annoyed.
" Hold here." Tsireya tapped the saddle that had a place in front to grip. Aonung let go of your arm, moving closer to watch better as you and Neteyam stood there watching your brother.
" Let's bet on if he stays on or not." Neteyam whispered to you, and you scrunched your nose, with a devious smile on your face." You're on, I bet he'll fall off immediately." You snickered to him.
" Nah, He'll hold on for a little bit." Neteyam whispered to you, and you bumped his fist with yours." Okay bro, the loser has to do the other's chores for a week."
" Sweet, I'm totally gonna win this then." Neteyam laughed, as you watch Lo'ak begin to set himself up to go. " Look at his legs." You heard one of Aonung's friends snicker and you rolled your eyes. They just couldn't go a day without finding something wrong with your siblings to pick on." Hold on." Another one shouted, and surprisingly Aonung wasn't laughing with them. He seemed serious about his role as teacher.
Lo'ak sucked in a breath before moving at a quick pace into the water. Everyone ducked their heads into the water to watch and Lo'ak actually lasted a decent amount of time before he fell off.
Your ears went back in annoyance as your brother came to the surface for air. Everyone laughed at him, including Neteyam who patted your back." It's ok you lost." He smirked and you rolled your eyes.
The ilu splashed Lo'ak in the face before swimming off, and he let out a huff of frustration." You alright forest boy?" Aonung called out and you crossed your arms as he came over." Nice going, I was rooting for you to fall off immediately." You grimaced and Lo'ak rolled his eyes.
" You have that little faith in me?" You nodded immediately." Of course." You teased and Neteyam laughed, giving Lo'ak a pat." She's just mad she has extra chores now."
" You guys bet on me?" He asked.
" Of course." You and Neteyam said in unison. Aonung came over, shooing Lo'ak away." Go back, you still have training to finish." He told him and Lo'ak rolled his eyes before leaving to go back to Tsireya who began giving him tips on how to get better.
" Okay, Neteyam you're next." Aonung informed and called over another ilu." Okay so if you fall off sooner than Lo'ak did you get your chore duties back." You looked at Neteyam and he shrugged." Okay fine. If I last longer then it's two weeks."
You nodded in agreement, there was no way he was gonna last longer than Lo'ak. He hopped onto it's back, connecting his Neural Queue to the ilu's. " Ready to lose?" He teased you and Aonung rolled his eyes." Go." He demanded and Neteyam went forward.
You watched as he started off slow, then when he went into the water, he continued that speed. You and Aonung squatted to look into the water next to each other, watching his movements. He circled back still on the ilu and you and Aonung came back up as Neteyam breached the water.
You slapped the water in frustration, your face scrunched in annoyance and your ears in airplane mode. Aonung smirked at your reaction, he wouldn't deny the entertainment he got from watching you interact with your brothers.
" Two weeks now." Neteyam his smug smile pissing you off more." Aw upset you lost both bets." He teased, pulling your ear and you let out a sharp and quick hiss of annoyance. Both Aonung and Neteyam snickered at you, and you rolled your eyes.
" Okay your turn." Aonung pointed you towards the ilu which you reluctantly climbed on. " Okay last bet for funsies." Neteyam gave a smug smirk, confident he'd win another week off of chores. You turned to face him." If you last as long as I did and go as fast as Lo'ak started, you'll only have one week of my chores to do."
"Okay, what if i lose?" You asked, squinting at him." Four weeks." You thought for a moment and gave him a smug smirk in return." Fine I will."
Aonung shook his head, going over to your left side where your leg rested up high. You and Lo'ak both rode the ilu like an Ikran which was both of your guy's problem. He grabbed your thigh and forced your leg down.
You let out a squeak of surprise, whipping your head towards him." If you ride it like that, you'll pull a muscle." He warned with that annoying smirk of his on his face. He went to stand next to Neteyam as you shook your head, your ears red in embarrassment.
You hated being corrected, it made you feel like a child." Get going, win those four weeks." Neteyam teased you and you sent a glare over your shoulder as you plunged yourself into the water at a high speed.
You tightened your legs around the ilu and bent forward a bit more, gripping the handle of the saddle for dear life. You managed to stay on until the turn which made you slip your grip a bit. You quickly grabbed it with your other hand, the one you originally had gripping the handle stinging.
You came to a quick halt in front of Aonung and Neteyam with a sly smile." Guess it's just one week." Neteyam sighed a bit annoyed, Aonung was actually impressed by what you just managed to pull off. He wasn't able to achieve that speed like that until almost a week later.
He noticed your other hand a bit red, he immediately thought of wrapping it with his cloth he tried to get you to use on your eye this morning, but he fought against that thought. No way he'd do that in front of his friends and for a brat like you.
He didn't like you, not at all, he hated you.

Chapter Two
Tumblr media
You didn’t know why, but when your father finally returned home from the feast, he acted as if nothing happened, he simply kissed your forehead and went up to bed. No mention of your outburst or running away in the middle of the feast. Your father was a stern and outspoken man; the reason why your grandfather’s produce and bread business still make so much money. It had not always made a comfortable amount. Just 6 years ago, your family only had 3 bread stands left. The downfall was your older brother. He was a kind man who cared for the poor more than his own family. Your father was letting him take over since he was coming of age. Your brother decided to relinquish ownership of all the stands and give them to the people whose lives were impacted the most from food insecurity.
All but 3 of your 30 stands were demolished. Thieves taking more than they needed and starving, angry mobs bulldozed the corner shops while taking every last scrap. Your brother didn’t understand that once all the food was gone, the people of flea bottom had no money, or connections to restock the stores. They were left barren and in a second they were all gone. Your Father was too proud of a man to punish his son, but king Viserys wasn’t. He heard of all the commotion and called your father and brother to the castle. He knew of your grandfather and respected your father’s drive. He sent your brother to be a man of the night’s watch. A harsh punishment for bread stands, some might think. To the king, he saw what it did to the whole city, thousands relied on your fruits and vegetables. It was now his problem to feed the starving city. After he sent your brother to the wall, he offered your father a deal of a lifetime. A loan and good faith, good faith that your father would ensure fresh vegetables and the purest wheat for the castle kitchen. That’s how you recuperated in less than 6 years, the crown is your biggest supporter. Your deceased mother’s sister, Rose, owns a farm in Dorne where the finest potatoes are grown, the king’s favorite. Of course, the king wouldn’t do something unless it included self-interest, but it was a favor, nonetheless.
A month ago, you got news of your brother. His brother in arms reported that he walked north of the wall with an envoy and never returned. Your father had hope that one day the king might relieve him of his post, forgiving him for accidentally starving his city. Your father was devastated to say the least, all he was left with was a young maid to carry on his business. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, he puts all his time into finding someone worthy to run the stands.
You knew your father should’ve scolded you when he returned home, if anything, for embarrassing him in front of the king, your best customer. Maybe something happened on his way home. Maybe one of those uppity lords chastised him for parading around his wench of a daughter. You would never know, you supposed. He didn’t even take notice of the new addition to the family; the tiny striped kitten that had found its way to you on the beach. Possible names danced around your head, indecisive as you are, you settled with Pantera for the girl. You wrap a silk yellow ribbon around her neck, tying it into a little bow. “Let us sleep now, tiny girl.” grabbing the kitten, you trudge up the steep stairs of your small villa.
The weeks after the feast was just as uneventful as the one before it. No young suitors, no slightly handsome older gentlemen, nothing of substance was offered. You sat around eating cheese, drinking wine, and watching Pantera double in size, waiting for fate to save you. Your father had exhausted all his options, not knowing what to do with you, he requested to see the king. Before the week was over, he stood in front of the iron throne.
“Your grace, I’ve done everything I can for Y/N. As you know, she’s my only living child, I have no one to leave my stands to. I am at a loss, she refuses every lord I bring her, insulting them into not liking her. I do not trust the young men in King’s Landing. We both saw what my young man did to the city with the food stores in his hands.” Your father went on and on rambling to the king. Not noticing the figure standing behind him, finally learning your name, and waiting his turn for a moment of the king's time.
Aegon listens intently to your father’s words. Why do you turn down every single lord? Surely you weren’t that picky, but Aegon could see you deserved better than what your father was offering. Your appearance was up to debate for everyone, except Aegon. He believes a beautiful woman deserves an equally handsome groom. He suddenly gets an idea, and walks to stand beside your father, catching the king's attention as well. “If I may father, I think I can help this man solve his problem.” Aegon says, holding his breath for Viserys’ answer. Your father looks to him confused, what could the prince do to secure his daughter a husband?
The king waves his hand at Aegon, signaling he was done with this whole affair. He is getting weaker by the day, the problems his merchants have, weren’t of importance at this time. He didn’t even look at Aegon as he spoke, deciding to just let him go play his games with the lowborn girl. Aegon looks at your father with a dissatisfied look. “This way, let's not waste anymore of the king’s precious time.” Aegon leads your father to the hall, saying that last part with malice. Listening to what his first-born son had to say was less important than some bread dealer.
Once Aegon and your father enter the hallway, your father begins with his anxious rambling. “My prince, I appreciate your help, but what can you do for my daughter? I haven’t forgotten our conversation; I did not mention her attempted ruin of the feast.”. Aegon looks at your father with blank eyes. “I am giving her a chance, unlike you. And she didn’t ruin the feast, she made it interesting.” He says, turning quickly, leaving your dumbfounded father in his wake.
Once your father returned home, he took an early leave for bed, his hands are completely tied now. With the promise of help from the prince, his hopes were higher than when he left the bed this morning. Sighing, he picks up the rather large kitten from his bed, letting it gently fall to the floor, and slinks into his creaky bed.
You hear 4 paws coming down the stairs, and 3 knocks at your villa’s wooden door. Strange, if your father was already in bed, you shouldn't be expecting any guests. You grab Pantera, for mauling protection. Opening the door, you see the same dark cloaked figure from the beach. “May I help you sir?” you say unsure of what exactly to do. The man raises his head showing you a glimpse of his soft features. “Prince Aegon, please come in.” you say, stepping to the side. Why on earth is the prince at your door? What could you or father have to offer him? Noticing your confusion Aegon lowers his hood, making his way into your open-air lounge, “Do you like your present?” He gestures towards Pantera. Wide eyed you look between your cat and the prince. Confusion still evident on your face, he continues, “I just got her shipped here from the north, and a day later you were in the garden, and she was wrapped around your fingers. She looked more comfortable in your arms than she ever could in mine. What did you name her?” Aegon smiles.
You stay silent putting all the pieces together, this is the cat from the castle garden. Aegon was the figure on the beach. Why would he do this for you? And why would he get a cat shipped all the way from the north? You start “My prince, I have no right to accept this gift, you should take her back, rename her.” you start to push the kitten into his arms, he keeps them to his sides not taking her from you. “I said she was a present and asked what you named her. Did you hear me ask for her to be returned?” Aegon says calmly but seriously. “No, I guess not. Pantera is her name.” Aegon nods his head. "Why does she come from the north?” you ask. “She is a shadowcat, one day she’ll be the size of a small lion.” Aegon says reaching to stroke the pet.
Your eyes widen. This cat could ravage your whole neighborhood in minutes. “I’m sorry, but I still don't understand why you’re here, my prince.” You say starting to tire from being so cordial to the man in front of you. The man that likes to play games with impressionable girls. Aegon looks at you with a pitied gaze “I can’t explain what happened in the garden without further hurting your feelings. I am here to help you find someone you’d approve of.” He says, straightening his shoulders. You couldn’t stop yourself from scoffing at the prince, looking him in the eyes “You of all people have no interest in helping me.”. Aegon pushes his brows down, saddened by your disbelief. “You have no clue what my interests are,” He takes a step to close the gap between your bodies. “And why must you stare into my eyes? Do you not fear me?” Aegon finishes looking down at you, surprised by his own tone. Holding your breath, you look away from his face and down to Pantera. “My prince. I mean no disrespect, but no, I don't fear you.” you say somewhat confidently. Aegon is shocked by your admission, but proud of your fearlessness. “Why? What have I done to give you the impression that I’m harmless.” He inquires, still standing inches from you. You could feel his breath on your forehead, and the heat from his body radiated onto yours. At a loss for words, you look back up at his face, to his chin, then to his pale lips. He grabs your face, making you look him in the eyes. “If you want the truth, you didn’t look away from me. You talked to me like,” your eyes start to well with tears,'' like I was a person. I was fooled long enough for it to change my opinion on you.” You say pulling your face from Aegon's firm hand, stepping back.
Aegon is at a loss for words. You really think he was fooling you? “I wasn’t toying with you. I was the fool to react that way. I have never been able to accept my wrongs, but this. Seeing you doubt your beauty because of puny little lords, your father, and me; It makes me want to drop to my knees and beg for your forgiveness.” Aegon says, swallowing a shameful lump in his throat. He barely knows the maiden in front of him, but he feels like he owes her the whole of Essos.
Looking at him again, you take notice of the red rising up his neck, sweat forming on his brow. Something inside you felt pride, knowing he was struggling internally, all for you. If the Prince of the seven kingdoms wants to beg for your forgiveness, you won’t deny him. “Drop then.” You say devoid of emotion, just a simple soft command. Pleasure filled you when the prince quickly went onto his knees, sitting on the heels of his feet, looking up to you for further instruction. You were surprised seeing his glossy dark blue eyes stare up at you. “Say what you must, my prince.” .
Aegon reaches forward, grasping your hand, pressing it to his cheek. “I am sorry, for being too scared of what others might think. Please forgive me, Y/N I thought I was protecting you from my selfish tastes. I know now, it was a mistake. I understand, if you don’t want my help, but I want to help you, I want to do anything I can for you. I don’t know why; it has been eating away at me for the last week. I saw your father at the castle today and knew I had to step in.”.
Aegon finishes and you are shocked. A prince, actually graveling at your feet, it must be a dream. Your thumb brushes back and forth against his cheek bone, and his eyes flutter shut. As if you were rewarding him for his confession. “I don’t know what to say, Prince Aegon.” You say honestly. “Tell me I can help you find a worthy suitor, someone worthy of you, a beautiful, young heiress. Worthiness of money is not a factor to me. I know of someone, Lord Stark of Winterfell. He is young and just took over for his father. I will send a raven to Winterfell, and you shall be acquainted in a fortnight.” Aegon finishes, hopeful. You, on the other hand, have met young lords, and they want nothing to do with you. Hope lost you a long time ago. Aegon kneeling in front of you was action, and it showed you he cared. Why couldn’t the prince just be with you? Forget the lord of ‘Winterhell’ and just take your hand. You almost laugh at your own thought process. The prince could never be with you. You had no title, you came from a working family, people would whisper that you were a prostitute he was playing with for the time being. He could never take you to balls or feasts. He would never have a chance to win his crown back, with you, a no one at his side.
“Stand up my prince, I can’t take this anymore. If we're going to be friends, I can’t have you down there, looking at me like that.” You say smiling, accepting his help. “Do you forgive me?” Aegon says, not heading your command. “Yes, I forgive you. I couldn’t say no, you’re a good beggar.”. To you, the beggar comment was a joke. To Aegon, it was a praise. He wraps his arms around your waist, pressing the side of his head to your stomach. You drop Pantera, taken back by the prince's physical touch. He stands, and looks you in the eyes one last time, “I won’t fail you again.”. “Thank you, my prince.” You say stepping to the side, signaling to him it was time to leave. Your father had already gone to bed so the hour was beginning to get late, a hooded figure leaving your villa in the dark would be suspicious enough to ruin whatever virgin title you had going for you.  Standing in the doorway, you watch the prince disappear into the street of people, trusting every word he just said.

5 + 12 for the ask game? (:
5: who do you feel the most you around?
oh i love this question! i have a few answers because i'm indecisive like that. i feel like when i'm with my dad i can be me in a really special way. he remembers things about me that i've forgotten or was too young to remember, he knows me in a really deep way that i think only a parent can. and i see so much of myself in him, his personality and his attitudes towards life have shaped me, my mom often says that i'm like the "better, younger, prettier version" of my dad and he agrees.
my best friend, we'll call her N, and i have known each other since we were infants in daycare and i swear we imprinted on each other. i can tell her anything and i know she will listen fully and wholly and with so much love. i can be my weird, nerdy, loud self with her and she just matches the energy so. damn. well.
my friend, R, is one of my favorite people. i've only known her a few years but i could talk to her for hours and never get tired, and i feel so safe and comfortable in those conversations. she's never been weird about my being neurodivergent and all that that entails, she told me recently "i feel like you and i have had some of the deepest conversations of my life without ever looking one another in the eye" and i think that really sums it up.
and, lastly, my friend U. he is the ADHD one in our stereotypical autsitic/ADHD dynamic and when it's just the two of us we are at peak ND controlled chaos. when we would have classes together in high school it was a lot of mildly unhinged, topic jumping conversations about everything from cellular respiration to shitting on aristotle to the cool shoes he wanted to buy. he and i do this thing where we send each other videos of ourselves talking when what we want to say is too long for or can't probably be conveyed via text. and i don't think i'd ever do that with anyone else but him, and that's a testament to how comfortable and Me i feel around him. (oh, also trans solidarity in a friendship at its finest. he's my only close irl friend who's also trans and that's a special kind of closeness)
that was a lot, thank you for bearing with <3
12: how are you?
thank you for asking! i'm mostly good. currently dealing with standard (for me) anxiety. my life right now is mostly school (which i should probably be doing work for but instead i'm on tumblr) and i'm currently being faced with what is basically the first time i've ever properly struggled with math (i'm in calc rn) while also being excited by the challenge. idk it's hard to explain, but i'm doing good overall even if a bit overwhelmed.

Hi bestie! How are you? Could I please have a matchup?
Sexuality: Straight cisgenderFemale.  She/Her
Age: 26
Personality:  I am a Libra and my mbti is ISTJ.  I’m very quiet around people I’m not comfortable with or don’t know.  But if I’m close with you, I’m more talkative and I come out of my shell more.  I’m very indecisive when it comes to little things.  I question my worth a lot and wonder if I’m good enough.  I’m extremely loyal and will do anything for my loved ones.  I’m a hopeless romantic who just wants to be loved.  I can be a little mean and sarcastic, but it’s not meant out of spite or rudeness.   It’s just a reaction.
Style:
I have really short hair.  It’s a dark brown bob pixie with blonde in the front.  I’m also pretty short.  I wear a lot of feminine clothing.  Lots of skirts ranging in colors, patterns and styles.  My prefer pleated mini skirts.  I also LOVE sweaters and hoodies.  Again, I have a lot so…. But I also enjoy a good pair of straight/dad jeans and a good baby tee.  The two rules for my clothes are they have to be comfortable and cute.
Hobbies:
I enjoy shopping, makeup (even though I don’t wear it often), writing, planning watching anime, reading manga, baking, cooking, cleaning, and I’m interested in fortune telling but too afraid to try it.
Likes: Anime, cooking, baking, clothes, skincare, plushies, manga, writing (mainly fan fics), and spending time with my sister (aka my best friend)
Dislikes:
I hate rude people, entitled people, being told I’m not good enough, failure, being yelled at, writers block, things hurting/being sick (I’m a hypochondriac), and birds.
Thank you.
Hi there Sister in arms
Your wanting a match up ?
Can do, so I spent the latter part of the other day and the morning to decide your paring and honestly I was torn between two of the most finest characters in Tokyo Revengers and I came to my decision this morning after having no more doubt in my mind
Your match is
Tumblr media
Matsuno Chifuyu :
You both would match for you both being hopeless romantics, you both would watch those cheesy romance movies and be rooting for the couple all the way through, when it came to the rival in the equation you’d both tut and say “well like that’s gonna happen”
You both like the same kind of manga and I can imagine you and him having a shared collection in which you’d loan volumes off him and he off you.
I can imagine you both having anime marathons and wondering why your sleepy in the morning but it would be so #Worth-it
Hed like that your loyal as it’s a trait he possesses in his work as Vice captain of first division.
I could imagine him taking you out on dates in which your both dressed casually, No nonsense with spending hours putting your make up on as you value skin care over the whole over blown Hollywood style make up, during the date he’d take you to a festival and try his best to win you a plushy but ultimately fail thus leaving him no choice to buy you one on the way home.
Lastly he like you he hates self entitled jerks who think they have the right to talk shit and not expect to get hit although he does most of the hitting.
In Summary:
I match you with Chifuyu as your both super compatible with tastes and stances on how others act around you, He’d not care who the hell it was but if anyone talked down to you or made you feel less than they’re getting the boot and he would take the time to learn and understand you in a way that helped you feel comfortable.
I hope your result its to your liking

So I usually don’t ask these kinds of questions.
But what are your top 5 favorite movies of all time?
The reason is because there’s over 100 years of films out there to choose from lol. But oh well. Go at it.
oh no i’m really bad at answering these ‘favourite’ questions but i’ll do my best haha.
i think my no.1 fave film is mulholland drive. it’s david lynch weirdness at its finest (and is a standalone piece unlike twin peaks: fire walk with me, which i also think is a masterpiece but also that you need to be familiar with the series to really appreciate it.)
if you haven’t seen mulholland drive i would say absolutely check it out, even if you don’t enjoy it, it’s an important moment in film, taking a dark trip through hollywood and the movie business.
my other picks are probably more horror-centric & fairly predictable/typical 🤣
halloween - such a simple film in concept & execution but it’s so creepy & effective.
alien - i’d pick the original over the sequel since it’s more claustrophobic & the overall atmosphere is much more terrifying.
the exorcist - i honestly think this movie is really scary, i know a lot of people call it over rated. i think what really speaks to me about it is the cosmic battle between good and evil and forces that are so far beyond our control.
lotr: the fellowship of the ring - this to me is actual magic on film. everything on screen is so beautiful, the characters & story are so captivating, but especially understanding the insane effort & creativity that went into making these films. nowadays with everything done on green screen sets & post-production we’ll never see anything painstakingly made on that scale again (see the hobbit, lol.)
(a bunch of others that i cant really rank but im feeling indecisive - jurassic park, the matrix, the blair witch project, pulse (kairo), kill bill, the fifth element, terminator 2, the craft, suspiria, let the right one in, donnie darko, the silence of the lambs, hellraiser, possession, a nightmare on elm street, evil dead 2, scream, the thing, inception, the shining)

Broomie is the most fabulous horse on the ranch. I feel like that isn’t negotiable, he’s gotta have a gorgeous rainbow mane and tail to match Ink’s aesthetic… Actually, is this a human AU, or are they still skeletons? Because I could see Ink and Broomie having matching rainbow highlights-
I'm gonna be honest with you guys... I don't know. I like both ideas. Maybe they have a skeleton version and a human version, let's go with that one. Indecisiveness at its finest.

Goodsprings please! I’m bi and genderfluid. I’ve been told I’m very sarcastic. I have a resting bitch face and people tend to think im angry all the time. I love 80s rock and a guilty pleasure of mine is 50s romance music (johnny guitar) I’m actually a huge hopeless romantic. I tease my friends but its all meant to be a joke and if you tell me you don’t like it i will stop. I can get very irritated and moody easily but I’ll try to make it up to you. I have tons of tattoos and piercings and have quite a but of muscle in my arms. My clothing style is like someone who just went hell in a post apocalyptic world and loves their boobs. I love to fluster people because it like seeing them blush. I can get bored very easy if I’m not constantly doing things with people. I am generally very quiet unless I’m with my friends. I can be very petty. I have BPD, Anxiety, ADHD and autism. I change my style and hair all the time because i am very indecisive and can’t just keep one thing. I’ll have fun with my s/o even if theyre doing the most boring thing because i like being near them. I prefer being the big spoon and i love playing with hair, it makes me feel calm because it gives my hands something to do. I’m an INFP-t, type 4 and a gemini. I generally have such high empathy it hurts me.
Yaaas, gotta love that 50s romance music 👌👌
And oh my goodness, I think Hancock would think you're the coolest!
He'd be in awe of your badassery, with the sweet style, and all of your sick tattoos and piercings (he may just have to go with you to get the next one... or the next few, honestly. He's gotta catch up, you know?) And he'd be super into both your music taste's, the harder rock for the wild nights, and some softer romantic pieces for your nights spent in with one another.
Hancock tends to have pretty thick skin, so even if a bad mood flares up with you, it's not gonna be too big a deal for him. And if any anxiety episodes flare up, or people try to tease you over your other disorders, he'll be close by to comfort you however you need, and to tear the assholes that messed with you to pieces.
He'd love the way you're always vying to go out and do things with friends as well, and would love to join you, or even play host at the Old State House and have everyone over for a good ole fashioned Goodneighbor rager, if that's something you'd be interested in.
And shit man, Hancock would love nothing more than to spend a day doing nothing with you. Just having some good quality time, a nice chat, maybe popping a few chems (only on his end, if you're not into it), cuddling and just enjoying being close to you. An' having you be the big spoon? Yeah, he's totally into that. He tends to get cold pretty easy, so having you all curled around him is just like the finest bliss.

Resisting Disappearance: Military Occupation and Women’s Activism in Kashmir, by Ather Zia (p. 77)
Since 1947, the region of Kashmir has been caught in an ebb and flow of both visible and invisible forms of violence. Stereotypically presenting Kashmir as a dispute between India and Pakistan is a reductionist view, which neglects the Kashmiri people’s aspirations for a sovereign nationhood that predates the partition of British India and the Princely States. Since then, India has legitimized its military occupation of Kashmir by deploying a politics of democracy. I use the phrase “politics of democracy” to emphasize that it is not democracy in its true form that exists in Kashmir, but rather the symbols of democracy, such as the “elections” that have been utilized to entrench and extend Indian rule. In this context democracy becomes a tool to “serve territorial nationalism” (Junaid 2013a: 166). A chronology of events pertaining to the contesting Indo-Pak nationalisms over Kashmir illuminates how the postcolonial nation-state of India established and legitimized a military occupation in Kashmir (Osuri 2017; Bhan, Duschinski, and Zia 2018). Under these conditions, suspending the basic human rights of Kashmiris, as illustrated by Shabir’s experience, and suppression of dissent by government forces with impunity became a norm.
In 1931 in the Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir a key incident occurred when the Kashmiri Muslims revolted against the Hindu monarch Hari Singh of the Dogra dynasty. During a mass demonstration the king’s police killed twenty-two Kashmiris. Today the historical martyrs’ graveyard dedicated to these men stands as a testament to Kashmir’s aspiration for an independent sovereign democracy. At the time of the massacre, almost a century had passed since 1846, when the British colonial government had sold the entire region of Kashmir to Hari Singh’s warlord ancestor Gulab Singh. The British colonizers had imposed territorial and administrative unity over the disparate geographical and cultural provinces— namely, Kashmir, Jammu, Ladakh, and allied regions—jointly referred to as the Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir. Gulab Singh bought the territory along with its people for seventy-five thousand Nanak Shahi rupees and an annual present of one horse, twelve shawl goats, and three pairs of the finest Kashmiri shawls to the British Crown. The hundred years of Hindu Dogra rule were ruthless for the majority of the Muslim Kashmiris who lived in de facto slavery. This period became generative of political and economic awakening in the Kashmiri people (Rai 2004; Zutshi 2003). In 1932 newly educated young Muslim men forged a political movement to fight for people’s rights and ultimately gain democratic sovereignty.
The dispute over Kashmir between India and Pakistan began with the 1947 Indo-Pak partition, which was predicated on religious difference. While nominally secular, India became a Hindu-majority nation, and Pakistan became a homeland for Muslims. Dominantly Muslim, Kashmir was largely expected to integrate with the newly formed Pakistan with which it had geographic contiguity, trade, and cultural links. The monarch of Kashmir was indecisive about acceding to either country and wanted to explore the option of independence. Meanwhile, he signed a “standstill” agreement with Pakistan to ensure that essential services—trade, travel, and communication— remain uninterrupted. Pakistan saw this as a forerunner to the accession and its indisputable claim to the region. The Indian leaders had started their diplomacy to acquire Kashmir long before 1947 (Noorani 2014). The majority of Kashmiris at that time preferred to stay independent and not join either of the two countries (see Whitehead 2008: 26–27).
From August 15, 1947, when India and Pakistan became two dominions, until October 27, 1947, when the Indian military landed by plane, Kashmir was an independent state. By then the Indo-Pak partition had descended into communal violence. In the region of Poonch in West Kashmir an armed revolt was building under the name of Azad (Independent) Kashmir Regular Forces (Duschinski et al. 2018) to create an independent state (Lamb 1991; Snedden 2013). The king suppressed the revolt brutally, but the rebels successfully liberated part of the region declaring the Azad (Independent) Kashmir provisional government on October 24, 1947. By this time the communal violence of the Indo-Pak partition spilled into Kashmir’s Jammu province. Approximately two hundred thousand Muslims were killed in an ethnic cleansing that the king endorsed (Lamb 1991; Howley 1991; Copland 2005; Lone 2009).
In the Indian narrative what followed the Poonch revolt is called an “invasion by Pakistan” or pejoratively the “Qabaili raid,” referring to the ethnic clansmen who came to Kashmir’s aid from the North West Frontier Provinces (NWFP) of the newly founded Pakistan to aid the Poonch revolutionaries. The ethnic clansmen had long-standing family, cultural, and trade ties with the people in Poonch, and they were impassioned to fight alongside their co-religionists against the impunity of the Hindu king. Fearing loss of territory, the king asked India for military support. The Indian government agreed with the precondition that the king accede to India and promised to hold a plebiscite to decide the region’s final fate. The king agreed to a treaty of accession for the entire Princely State, retaining control in all matters except defense, currency, and foreign affairs.
In 1948, after the first full-scale war broke out between India and Pakistan over Kashmir, India took the issue to the United Nations, where it repeated its commitment to a plebiscite. The UN brokered a 485-mile-long cease-fire line that split the region in two. One-third of the territory, including the far northern and western areas along with Gilgit-Baltistan, ended as a semiautonomous entity administered by Pakistan, known as Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).10 The remaining two-thirds of the region, including the valley of Kashmir and the provinces of Jammu and Ladakh, came under Indian control. The promised plebiscite was never held.

Cat Wedding
The two orderly rows of houses on Fisherman Drive stared blankly at each other in the dry late afternoon heat. They looked nervous and hesitating, like the faces speed dating at the downtown convention center where she first met Adam. It was all such a blur: a brief conversation led to coffee, trips to the coast, a ring, a wedding, yes, even a wedding. Lila could scarcely remember how it had all happened. Adam was an efficient and practical man who romantically took the initiative.
Looking out of her bedroom window, Lila saw a cat perched in a windowsill directly across the street. Its name was Henry, or was it Harry? She could not remember. The orange tabby was slightly overweight from generous caretakers and limited physical activity. He usually sat on this very windowsill, but sometimes he would prowl through the bushes for an unsuspecting squirrel or inspect the neighbors’ yards from the flat wooden fences that separated the homes. He rarely ventured any further.
Suburban cats lived the finest life. Food appeared in the bowl, the vet arrived at the slightest offbeat purr, and the litter box changed daily.
Henry could not complain about a life so perfect, Lila thought. Cats rarely complained unless you bothered them, unlike Adam, who complained about everything that wasn’t his business. Get the clicking sound in the engine checked, get your physical, follow up on your cholesterol, apply to other jobs in case the interview falls through, blah, blah, blah. He never stopped bothering her. Life would have been fine if he had shut up and stopped worrying. There were so many more pleasant things to think about, like weddings. Hundreds of details to get right, but that was the fun. She was an expert. Invitations, music, catering, wine, gifts, the vow, and best of all, cake!
Wedding cakes were her specialty and she baked them with passion. She used a slightly different cake batter for each layer, making sure the lower layers were dense enough to support the higher ones. She spent hours painstakingly decorating them with her own frosting recipe that she had refined over months. Lila cut fresh flowers from the yard to decorate the cake. She always topped it with a plastic model of a trim young man lifting a beautiful woman, her hair and white dress flowing in the wind, picturesque and forever preserved in a moment of euphoria they’d hope to never forget.
Lila delivered each finished cake to a table in the living room window, open for all to admire. A sign in the lawn would say: “Free Cake!” Each of the curious neighbors had knocked to try a slice of the first cake, but were uninterested in the subsequent ones, even when Lila offered it door-to-door. They were trying to lose weight or concerned about diabetes. Even Adam never helped her much, even though he liked it. The cakes inevitably sat and stared at her from the refrigerator, waiting for her to do something about it.
It was definitely the wedding planner’s fault. Admittedly, she had been indecisive about the placemats, but how could she have known that they had to be ordered three weeks in advance? If the planner weren’t so disorganized, she would have had time to finish her magnificent cake rather than order one from the bakery last minute! Lila regretted letting Adam hire the wedding planner. Adam was wrong. She could have done it herself and the wedding would have been perfect. She was an expert.
Henry the cat stood to arch its back in a luxurious stretch before hopping off the windowsill. What might the wedding of two cats look like? Would they serve an assortment of delicacies like tuna and salmon? Cats could plan that, right? All they had to do was hang bait off some string tied to a stick and wait for something to happen. Lila laughed. Imagine Henry getting married. Cats hardly moved for anything that wasn’t food—how could they possibly get married or organize a wedding? They certainly couldn’t bake a proper wedding cake.
Lila turned around from the window and looked at the clock on the bedroom wall. It was already half-past six. A few months ago, Adam would have come home and kissed her by now. Lila hurried to the closet, picking the modest green dress over the low-cut top and hastily put on red lipstick. She was late. She grabbed her purse, started the car, and drove downtown to the convention center.
