Oh dear, Snickerdoodle’s in a most mischievous mood today. He only puts on the Skitty disguise when he wants to cause chaos… Still, he stayed still long enough to let me do a quick rough sketch to share, which I appreciate.
I JUST FINISHED THE DLC THAT THE EPILOGUE IS ALREADY OUT ?!?!? AAAAAAAAH I DONT CARE I HAVE FINALS NEXT WEEK I'M SO EMOTIONFULL !!!!
Kieran's character developement was delicious, kicking his ass with ogerpon was nice, but seeing warm up again, throw a masterball AND THE SUNRISE SCENE OMG. Also Carmine doesn't get enough recognition, her character devellopement was more subtle but oh so good too !
Today I did a few sketches in the Wild Area outside Hammerlocke. Wanted to focus more on Pokemon forms rather than the background today. Mostly practice sketches... But something about this one stuck out to me. Figured I'd post it. I just haven't been happy with any of my sketches lately... Don't mind how rough it is, please... Still not entirely happy with it, but if I don't post it now, I don't think I ever will...
Ala Ebtekar, Thirty-Six Views of the Moon (from the San Jose Museum of Art)
Cyanotype prints on found book pages exposed to moonlight.
Thirty-six Views of the Moon is a collection of night exposures, left from dusk till dawn and exposed by moonlight on book pages from texts referencing the moon and night sky spanning the last ten centuries. Working with photographic negatives of the Moon from the Lick Observatory archives in Northern California and treating each book page with Potassium ferricyanide and Ammonium ferric citrate (cyanotype) to make the surface of the page light-sensitive, the pages are then exposed overnight by the UV-light emitted by the moon. The work takes its cue from a poem by Omar Khayyam that imagines us as the objects of the Moon’s omnipresent gaze and, in response, produces a vignette of windows on the Moon that abstract the typical celestial gaze, merging galaxy with ground to collapse space and time.
