it takes a really long time to unlearn but there's no such thing as "cheating" or "half-assing" being a person. if you need to leave the cabinet doors open, leave them open. microwave your tea. sit down in the shower. buy the eggmaker. use your phone to calculate tip.

it's mostly fake posterity rules. who cares if you microwave your dinners. who cares if you use instant coffee. who cares if you stop watching the show that got boring. we all have a different set of skills and a different life and taking care of yourself is fucking hard.

at the end of your life there will be no final scoreboard. nobody is going to judge you because you brushed your teeth in the shower. there will be no final count of the number of times you had the same meal five nights in a row. there will be no fanfare or party because you won at being a person - and no one will be disappointed that you never understood the point of using paper towels to dry your hands off after washing them.

yeah, in this world, people will put up a fuss. i've noticed some of the biggest fusses are over what you'll put in/on your body. the fact that i will regularly eat deli meat straight out of the bag makes a lot of people genuinely concerned for me. but here's the thing: sometimes that's the only way i'm getting any protein. my doctor says i am doing fine. i'm sticking to my weird snacks and calling it deconstructed charcuterie.

they'll say they're horrified because you take a shortcut. that's fine. it's just that it looks like a shortcut to them because they're on a different life path. these kinds of things stand out to them as important. that's fine too. but for you? you've got other things that already make you pretty hard working. and these tiny things - well, they're just clutter on your journey.

I’m finally biting the bullet and contacting a therapist today after being ambivalent ab it for so long… this hellsite has its many disadvantages but one thing I can say is it has truly helped me be less scared of pursuing therapy. Silver lining etc etc

#And to be clear I have nothing against therapy. I’ve seen it do wonders for other people #I think the reason it’s a point of defeat (just a little) for me to be like ok. I need a therapist. Is bc I’m admitting to myself that I #need one to begin w. And I get it’s not healthy but I always liked to think I could handle anything by myself #That was even the whole point of this blog. It was supposed to serve as a conduit for these feelings #And I’m not saying I don’t have a support system. I do. I have many wonderful friends #But I struggle to be vulnerable at all tbh and whenever I am I’m guilty ab it bc #I understand so many people have busy lives & I feel like an emotional burden on them by venting #Despite them telling me that it’s totally fine. Obvi a therapist is literally paid to listen so no guilt there #And I think that’s what I need #I’m not like on the brink of a psychotic break or anything but it’s just little things. I think it’d be nice to sit in someone’s office for #One hour a week and just go. That did bother me actually. I am tired actually. i'll admit i am a little cynical about popular interpretation of hua cheng because of the aspects of his character that people tend to focus on. but the animation... i am so happy that they took the time to let him have his soft expressions. his surprise, his vulnerability... the little look on his face at the end of episode four has me losing my mind a little bit. everything i could've asked for in a hua cheng depiction. and the little trailer of him with his golden fan in the next ep... i am so glad he gets to be sharp and violent too :D

sirius, never really caring much about the things he has growing up because he takes them for granted. but sometime between his family slowly icing him out for being different and his explosive gryffindor sorting, he realises their love and affection and regard is conditional. and that’s where it begins.

enter james potter. who wholeheartedly accepts and adores sirius, no questions, no ifs and buts. it’s absolutely glorious for someone like him who’s always had to negotiate love, to be as he is and not have to change himself to be accepted. and he just becomes so possessive of this relationship because he knows how good james is, how he looks at him like a man dying of thirst in front of a glass of water.

james potter is like the sun, shining almost too bright, and sirius wants to hoard all of it for himself. he knows what it’s like to be without light.
