The way I interpreted Toby’s “creepypasta name” being Ticci Toby was that being the name the media gave him. Like Jack the Ripper. Maybe after he killed his dad and was suspected of murder, so people who knew him from school were bound to get interviewed and the name gets around . . . That’s mostly how I interpret all of them. Like I don’t really think Jeff walked around like “heh… call me… JEFF THE KILLER!!!!” Or Jack formally requests people call him eyeless jack LOL

I am curious on how other people think abt it cuz I’ve seen people say that was him trying to reclaim it as his own, or in general using it as something he chose to go by rather than something that was stuck on him. It’s a shitty name but that’s kind of the point in a sense …?!! Dunno

In the last chapter we saw that Hera will be forced to recover Percy because she is the only one who will allow (force) Percy to follow his destiny This made me think of the following possibility:

What if by chance it was pjo Poseidon who got Percy back? Let's imagine that during the conversation a small animal like a fly or butterfly (a lesser God in disguise) heard the conversation and, aiming to get a better position on Olympus for itself, ran to tell Poseidon the news.

He is furious, but he stops for a moment and analyzes the information and decides to manipulate the situation in his favor, he pretends not to know and waits for the right moment to set a trap for Hera so he can recover his baby himself.

He rescues Percy (thus defying fate) and takes her to Atlantica with Sally, after all the pain of his baby's disappearance, everyone can say that the Poseidon that was softened by time is gone

Now in a younger form with a crueler temperament he is defending his daughter tooth and nail, no one can go near the sea anymore, no more human fishing and no more pollution, no more dangerous missions, no more cruel fates

Although he has not revealed himself to humans as of now, fueled by protective fury, he is using his powers to protect his oceans from everyone and everything, now that Percy lives with him at sea any attempt at fishing or pollution is shredded by earthquakes and tsunamis

Human environmentalists are trying to explain and correlate why these phenomena are happening, everything is in chaos because now that fishing is impossible, countries that depended almost exclusively on fishing for food are going hungry (if they haven't already been wiped out of the map by tsunamis)

He is also getting a little help from other gods to hide Percy, humans now think these environmental disasters are a result of global warming and other factors such as rampant pollution It has been centuries since the tides have been so clean and orderly and the animals have been so safe.

How would Poseidon react to all this?

and then i see a couple other olympians joining poseidon's side. apollo would find out first, being the god of truth, then he'd pull artemis along to help out. she'd definitely help out 10000% because of what happened in the titan's curse. aphrodite would probs help out too. they'd probably be hellbent on making sure zeus, hera, ares, demeter, and hephaestus DONT find out about percy (especially the first three), as well as the fates

poseidon's change in demeanor would greatly disappoint percy. she misses her chiller and kinder dad, especially since she already had a terrifying one back in ror verse. she'd try to plea for him to show mercy, but this poor dude's already snapped tbh 💀💀

(im gonna assume your question was asking about ror!poseidon) as for ror!poseidon, his opinion on his counterpart wouldn't change. if he learned about this, he'd probably roll his eyes and go "oh NOW you care about your belongings, hmm? oh well, I'm still going to take it all from you" 💀

i love dark poseidon tho.... he's just so much chiller and nicer in the books, so i enjoy reading fics that explore his much darker, more canon to the myths side... 😍

Fascinating is increasing…

This is a redraw of an older piece from 2021 (well, more of reinterpretation, changed some things)

Artists' ramble of overview and choices undercut for those who care about that kind of thing

This was really fun to do, just an overview in how my style has changed, as well as my approach to Jam's character design has shifted. The original piece was one of my proudest drawings at the time, and im still quite fond of it.

Many things are the same, but also quite different, which is neat to compare. I take a different approach to colouring these days.

I also changed Jamie out of their more typical attire into a dressed down state, to give the more vague casual and ~seductive~ vibes alongside the references to the seduction mechanic of 'fascinating' in the game.

I also shifted the overall background to red, because i remember when i did the original piece I had inititally wanted to do a red background but couldnt figure out how to balance the colours. So challenged myself to do that this time.

I also shifted the flower imagery used in the background

I switched to real roses - with thorns and all - to give a more ominous implication. Inherent tragedy and all that.

I also added some more hands, and if you know my art you should know who and why XD. the top middle on u probs wont tho, thats there to represent Jam's ex from the surface.

Overall i wanted it to come across with slightly more of a darker undercurrent in the drawing.

That stuff about the guys being told about yuu's got me also thinking about being told about their myths, legends, and fairy tails. A world without magic still has all these stories about mers or fae....tho they prob shouldn't be told about some darker stuff...theres certainly an interesting one about how eating the flesh of a mermaid's tail will give eternal youth/life and a lot about fae eating or stealing kids.

You are very ok friend, the differences between our world's fairy tales and twst's is something I have been thinking about specifically because of things like this σ(￣、￣=) As long as you don't actively describe the process of eating other people I'm usually ok.

The mermaid flesh myth is more or less specific to Japan (at least i think) and while it does grant you eternal life it's also extremely taboo. You gain eternal life, but are more or less cursed and forced to live a solitary existence. Twisted Wonderland actually sort of references this in the first Halloween Event. As part of their plan to spook off the magicam monsters Azul tells them that mummified merfolk used to be seen as a sort of cure all by humans, which also is true of human mummies in our world, but we don't know if that's a real "fact" in this world or shit Azul made up to scare the guests. The octotrio in general do not seem to shy away from darker implications, so I could see them not being so disgusted they don't want to learn about it. (I could see Floyd maybe making a few rather tasteless jokes that get worse as Jade encourages him. Azul just wants to assure you that his flesh has no medicinal properties.)

As for the fae... I think Lilia would be the most interested in learning these things, which I say a lot in these posts but I want to point out that he places a big emphasis on learning about how other people see the world. He might not want to be active in Briar Valley politics anymore, but I could see him encouraging Yuu to talk about how their world sees fae with Malleus specifically so he can think about how to responsibly use his power. It's obvious to them that they don't eat children or steal them away, but why might people think that way? Lilia seems to think it's important to try and understand that, which makes me really like him tbh

What I would really want the octotrio's (and diasmonia gang to a lesser extent) opinion on is things like Selkies. I mentioned in my long fic musing that how Disney's Hercules and the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice play out are very different, but the same sort of goes for other love stories in our world. The concept of stealing yourself a wife is featured a lot in certain myths, and the couple doesn't always live happily ever after. I rather like the idea of a Yuu who despite being the more good aligned character is extremely resigned to tragedy and things ending baldy vs the twst boy their in love with thinking that specifically because they are in love with Yuu things should work out because in their world myths about love end happily. You could make that dynamic toxic, but I like to think of it in the sense that despite not being the best person, whoever you ship Yuu with will literally move the heavens and earth for them so they can get that happy ending.

so this post is stuck in my mind and somehow spurred a hellfire club mike wheeler/cali mike wheeler breakdown! i’m really excited to talk about this one bc it appears so intentional! and i get to combine 2 of my truest loves: costume design and gay ppl.

from 4x4 thru 4x8, i think we’re lowkey seeing… single mike, right? like, he thinks him and el are basically done? so during this post, keep that thought in ur back pocket like eddie’s black handkerchief <3

something i find striking about the burying the body/top of car desert scenes, during this period of “yeah me and el are prob broken up,” is that mike is back in his hellfire color scheme—he’s wearing black&white, with red, orange, gold and metallic tones everywhere.

there’s no red/gold/metallic tones on mike (except his silver belt!!), but it’s everywhere behind mike & will, especially as they dig the grave. the shovels they’re holding have metal handles; the rusting cars behind both mike and will during their staring shots are red & orange; the desert sand/hills behind mike are red-orange; will’s color palette for his cali crew outfit is yellow/gold; i even noticed on first watch that byler’s cheeks/lips are super flushed during that triple take moment.

tldr; key byler scene where they stare at each other for several shots, and they also open up to each other. hellfire mike color palette everywhere, and it’s the only time in the show we see mike associated w these colors except for 4x1 and 4x8. coincidence? no way.

let’s take a trip to 4x1. hellfire mike, my beloved.

i love hellfire mike bc he was so Himself. i don’t even think that version of mike, even tho it was only a day apart, would’ve snapped at will in rink o mania. it’s literally just when mike is trying to force himself into his cookie cutter straight relationship, wearing pastels and shit, that he gets frustrated. “shitty knockoff” mike wheeler, not his authentic self.

i could talk about eddie and hellfire’s impact on mike all day. it’s not explored through substantial screentime the way dustin’s bond with eddie is, bc it’s a different bond, but visually it’s clear the connection they wanted us to make—mike is evolving into a mini eddie.

from a costume/hair/makeup design perspective, there’s certainly a reason joe quinn has long, dark hair and a pale, fresh face in the cafeteria scene just like finn, and that same black&white color scheme as mike does w the hellfire shirt (just w a jean jacket over top and jewelry on, the only major differences—mike doesn’t have all the embellishments yet bc he’s just coming into himself—still getting used to not wearing “whatever his mommy bought him from the goddamn gap”. i find it interesting that clothing specifically is brought up in this scene; they want us to notice).

and then that night at the hellfire game, eddie doesn’t have his jacket anymore, so he and mike have essentially the same exact visual, w the exception of eddie’s tattoos, rings, and other jewelry (long dark hair, bangs, hellfire shirt. it’s giving clones). eddie even wears a black watch :-) basically, they are trying to show us that aesthetically, mike is growing into eddie but isn’t quite there yet, isn’t quite as unhinged and bold.

this visual parallel contrasts dustin’s bond w eddie; dustin wears that colorful/bright white shirt over his hellfire tshirt, blocking out most of the black sleeves, and they put him in his blue and white “thinking cap” hat rather than a black or red one. this is bc dustin’s bond w eddie is more emotional and bright, while mike is inspired by eddie’s darker look and vibe in an aesthetic and personality sense, and i think we’re supposed to notice that because their looks are designed so similarly.

like, they could’ve put joe quinn in any wig to be eddie, but they gave him one that reminds us of mike wheeler. i’m pretty sure they even straightened finn’s hair this season, which they weren’t doing as much previously (remember how fluffy it was in s3). i mean, look at this pic. this is the exact same queer mf and their token straight best friend.

mike under the influence of eddie/hellfire is his truest form and you can’t convince me otherwise:

he takes risks. he doesn’t listen to his parents, doesn’t care if he stays out too late playing hellfire (it’s giving bathroom stall graffiti mike wheeler from s2). he goes around school and asks everyone & their mother to play hellfire, barging into science labs and wrestling team practice and the school newspaper. he puts himself out there, passionately, talking with his hands about the game he loves, which he didn’t even want to play last season when el was around—growth and a return to his more authentic self thanks to hellfire.

he talks about “bullshit media propaganda,” which is something we just watched him learn from eddie in the cafeteria scene. he’s vibing hard with eddie’s values. this is not the mike wheeler we see arriving in california or snapping at will in rink o mania, but it is the one we get a glimpse of again in the desert.

🖤♥️⭐️ hellfire mike = hawkins/dnd dungeon master mike vibes. the mike that will fell in love with. ⭐️♥️🖤

mike + will + hawkins/dnd = mike’s happy place—“it’s not the same without you.”

back in the desert in 4x5, the use of this color palette shows us that mike feels at home and like himself again, because he’s with will. the longer he’s away from el, the more he’s shedding this artificial skin…

…until will mentions “what if they don’t like the truth.” that resonates with mike and he gets scared of what that means. he retreats. he covers back up, goes back to wearing Ted Wheeler Turquoise™️

but we almost reached something there, in the above pic. (i also like the green plants & 7up can—green = byler reconciliation in sight 🌿)

the next time we see red associated w mike wheeler, it’s the painting scene.

and of course the bright red resonates with him. of course his smile can light up a room in this moment, of course he finds it stunning—this is who he is. the dragon is bright red. the shadows and outlines are black. the crown on the shield is gold. and the weapons are metallic…

💔▪️👑 hellfire colors. 👑 ▪️💔

this visual thread suggests that mike feels truly like himself, and truly at home, when he sees will’s stunning canvas. (god i feel like i got punched in the throat, that’s so fucking beautiful.)

not to mention we’ve got tons of green in there for the forest background, which we can think of as not only a byler reconciliation symbol, but also the forest is a major symbol of hawkins—where will was kidnapped, where el was hiding out, where we see eddie and jason run to when they’re in distress. so this forest imagery calls back to hawkins mike, dnd dungeon master mike, looking for will in the woods mike, “it’s not the same without you” mike.

in conclusion: s4 uses the hellfire club color palette—black, white, red, gold/flame orange/yellow, & metallic—to show us that mike looks up to eddie munson and is starting to form independent, subversive ideas—“bullshit media propaganda.”

it also shows us (via mike’s cali outfit and the bright, candy colored rink o mania setting) that this self actualization of mike’s only regresses when he tries to be el’s boyfriend.

mike’s only place he feels he can be himself is playing dnd, in hawkins, with will—but based on what we saw in the s3 fight, there’s some elusive reason mike doesn’t let himself have all 3 at the same time. he clings to his relationship with el, but it only holds him back.

and based on the desert scene, the with will aspect is the most important part. the callback to the hellfire color palette in the desert w/ will & in the painting scene shows us that mike can feel at home anywhere in the world with will—hence the soft looks in the van scene, hence thanks, i needed that.

So!! there's actually a few reasons I had Bluestar name Smudge Mosspaw/Mossflower in this au. The first is the reason you mentioned here. He reminded her of Mosskit. His patches were darker, but the resemblance was there.

The other reason I had her name him Mosspaw is because of the symbolism moss holds. Namely resiliency and optimism in this case. Moss is something that grows well even in unexpected places and environments. It clings to the trees and rocks of the forest through all kinds of seasons and weather. It was a name she gave him hoping it would give him the resiliency to stay with the clan on the long road ahead of him and come into his own as a fine medicine cat that Thunderclan would be proud of.

addressing the last bit of your comment tho, Given Mosspaw's affinity for ghosts and his status as a med cat apprentice, perhaps Mosspaw has been visited in his dreams by Mosskit. Or perhaps every so often, he'll catch glimpses of starry figures hovering around Bluestar, watching over her to keep her safe until she reunites with them one day

do you have any chris/ryan AUs? i know you're rarely here now but i'm curious, i love your stories!

funny enough, they prob the pair for whom i have the most AUs lol. i usually don’t tend to shift things around too much in those tbh, since what tends to be important for me is the core of their narrative. so like chris be a werewolf in all of my AUs and ryan always gonna be that outsider kid, who has easier time talking with adults vs his mutuals. 

but welp, from the top of my head i can name 4 AUs, that i at times think about. 

1. 80s AU. where everything is pretty much the same, but characters have less technology, less awareness of supernatural stuff, bc all that they have at their disposal is novels and hella old movies, no podcasts or internet lol. also they would have different clothes as well. i’d so change ryan’s tho. but i love mister h’s red neckband, it can be used in so many ways! and while the quarry did low-key incorporated some elements of 80s horror into their game, i imagine that some key, little details still would have been different, if they were actually born during that time, cuz different culture and such. but with this being said, the main story would have remained the same. 

2. this one is tied up to a one-shot story, that i wrote, where ryan and chris are the only survivors out of the whole cast. and ryan is also a werewolf (and a murder) lol. it mostly deals with aftermath and how, and what are they even gonna do now, when everything is gone and they’re both ‘cursed’. you can call it a melancholic drama, with somewhat a happy ending. i mean, what is a better way to bond with your starcross lover, than both of you being monsters together? 

3. one of the darker AUs, that i have is the one, where all hacketts die, beside the brotherly trio. all campers beside, max and ryan are dead too. but while max is on the ran, as werewolf mind you, ryan gets captured by the hacketts and it’s where the dilemma starts. or bobby and travis want to kill him, bc he’s a witness, and chris is torn about the whole thing, since technically he has no one to protect now, perhaps…only ryan. this supposed to be a bit of an ‘odd’ spin on capture/captive thing, along with exploring more in depths how ryan’s acceptance and loyalty to chris might shatter after everything. but perhaps twist into something else as well. 

4. almost an actual red ridding hood AU. or ryan moves to North Kill for the summer to visit his grandparents, who live in the area, and upon exploring the forest mets, a charming, even if slightly strange man, who offers him a part-time job at his camp. though, in this AU, chris has no kids, and he lives in the hackett’s mansion together with his brother travis and their old, quiet father. it’s kinda a serial killer AU, with a werewolf twist. constance and bobby are dead in here, and ryan’s sister live with their mother, so it’s only ryan lol. 

i hope, that one day i will have time and energy to work on at least one of those or all of them! i have so many pairings / aus and ideas for them, that it's legit hard for me to be able to dab into everything in the same amount. but dang, i love thinking about chris/ryan existing within the same narrative (in a way), but also being able to explore their relationships in different set-ups.

I believe that fiction is one of the healthiest ways to examine the darker elements of our psyche. Fantasies and fiction should be a safe space to explore pretty much anything without fear or judgment or shame.

Will our fav green baby Grogu make a cameo in your Dark!Din universe? Because I am sure as hell a sucker for him. And I enjoy your Dark!Din. I like that he still cares about his cyarika even tho he is, you know, dark. And even tho I am normally a huuge fan of fluffy Din, I do think he has quite the potential of becoming addicted to someone or being obsessive of someone, due to his past. So I love how you make him a tad bit dark but it is still the Din we know.

even MORE disney movies i’ve tortured myself with

•lilo & stitch - i suffered l&s at the hands of my sister 47473923839 times as a kid but this movie is actually pretty good looking back on it now. and much darker than i remember it being like bruh this movie is abt a fucking autistic girl who’s parents just DIED and she’s about to get taken away from her sister too, so she befriends a fucking alien to deal with the pain.

•frozen - i’ve shat on frozen a lot in the past (you know, like a week ago) bc it’s overrated trash and has A LOT of problems but in retrospect it still is a pretty decent movie ngl. even tho the songs carry the whole thing bc the plot is so messy lol. i remember the let it go scene had my 14 year old ass SHOOK when i saw this in theaters lol. it’s one of the better disney songs and the whole reason that movie was so successful and won like 47382992 oscars, fight me bitch.

•tangled - a MASTERPIECE is prob the best disney princess movie along with aladdin.

•moana - god this movie is boring af and took me like 5 sit downs to get through. idc what anyone says this movie is overrated trash and the plot is too confusing and makes no sense like idc about all that magical-ocean-restoring-the-heart-finding-a demigod-and-taking-down-a-lava-monster-crap. a kids’ movie shouldn’t have an ADULT watching it scratching her head LOL. ya’ll only like this movie bc it’s abt a polynesian princess even tho the story sucks and idek who out there was begging for a movie abt a polynesian princess. the animation is good tho, the detail in all that water must’ve been hard to animate.

•the princess and the frog - this movie was pretty bad but the soundtrack was good and i liked tiana as a character. but yeah i don’t wanna watch an entire plot around two frogs fucking i’m good thanks.

•tangled before ever after - it was aight but the original tangled movie ends perfectly so i feel like it’s something that doesn’t need a sequel or to be continued. ESPECIALLY if mother gothel aint in it bc she’s the best part of the first movie lol.

•beauty and the beast: the enchanted christmas - total garbage. belle has a martyr complex and savior complex and she’s the kyle of the disney princesses, also gaston wasn’t in it, so i don’t recommend suffering through this, next. (the original b&b slaps tho).

•aladdin (live action version) - ok this movie was total garbage even tho it had some good parts like will smith as the genie who carried the whole thing, but the casting for all the other characters was SHIT. i’m surprised people say this is one of the better live action remakes bc if so i’m scared to watch the others if THIS is as good as it gets LOL.

as for writing tips, you gotta just write. like if you’re inspired and have your own ideas, you gotta just go for it! that’s how I started on here, I was bored during lockdown and wanted to desperately read an Alpha Jeno fic and couldn’t find any(to my utter shock..) so I was like alright fuck it, and I wrote my own. now here I am💀

I literally had no idea what I was doing, I love reading fics tho so I at least knew *what* I wanted to put out. when I was posting on here at first no one was writing omegaverse or hybrids or stepcest or darker fics for nct really, and that’s what *I* wanted to read. I thought it was weird at first how everyone acted like I was doing something terrible and wrong and writing ‘really filthy smut’ but then I started reading some fics on here and I was like lmao. wtf. my advice would be to read on ao3 if you enjoy darker genres too, READ A LOT, don’t read on here, and don’t only read my dark stuff bc I’m actually very mediocre lol. read all the dead dove stuff on ao3……even if you’re not a part of the fandom, if it has a high number of kudos theres likely chance u will enjoy the fic regardless. BTW ITS FINE TO READ ON HERE AND WATTPADD(?) IF UR LOOKING FOR ANYTHING NOT DEEMED ‘dark’. as for what I’ve found on here mostly anime fandoms write the decent darker genres. kpop mehhhh.

I get ideas from reading, consistently reading, and music, and content I absorb. like if I’m listening to a song, 9 times out of 10 an idea for a fic will come to mind. I am definitely more the type that thinks with my creative brain than anything though. its a curse bc I end up writing whatever my heads stuck on instead of touching my rotting wips lol.

as for running a fanfic blog- don’t take it serious. people don’t pay us for this shit, this is NOT a job- do not treat it like one. don’t let anyone give you shit either, BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK!!!! I think it’s better to not get close to other writers in your fandom either…..they’re almost always going to be hateful and weird. if people enjoy your writing, your community of readers will be all that matters. don’t worry about the social aspect as much or engagement… it will come as long as you’re consistent and have fun with what you’re writing. so basically- don’t get caught up in drama. its hard believe me, I’ve tried not to but 🤷🏻‍♀️ just do your thing, block weird loser anons, block anyone who comments your shit being unnecessarily rude, etc. your blog is YOUR safe space first and foremost!!!!!

lmao also don’t worry about male idols growing egos😭😭😭 they literally have women stalking them 24/7, invading their childhood homes, sitting next to them in first class, poisoning their food, bugging their phones. fanfic blogs are the LEAST of their concerns im sure😭😭😭 those egos are enormous with or without us.

they all have pretty diff worlds n stories n chars but since same writer i thinkk theres a lot of common elements, so if u liked one of them ur likely to enjoy the rest....some are darker/lighter than others tho so it depends on ur personal preference? i personally enjoyed all of them except togainu no chi but ik ppl who liked it hmm. id definitely recommend checking out the other chiral games! sweet pool n slow damage r prob my favs so if ur ok w looking at disturbing content and bl thats not as..romancey. (like i feel both of those r p plot heavy tho i def mean that as a compliment hsfhdh) do check them out <33

sweet pool, togainu no chi can be bought on both steam and jast usa website tho i recommend jast ESPECIALLY for sweet pool since steam straight up jut. cuts out entire important scenes l. lamento can be downloaded from a tutorial somewhereits a lot of work but i think its worth it 😭 i think theres one on lamentoresources still, the one i used got taken down :( . slow damage is on jast usa's site!
