When people think women aren’t capable of misogyny I have to laugh because misogyny isn’t men just being creepy and weird and rating women on reddit. It’s not just statistics on violence and crime stories, even though that is a big part of it.

It’s also republican moms and mean girl sisters who encourage competition between women as peak femininity. It’s also women who think having friends is an equivalent to a bravo TV show that includes hair pulling and slut-shaming. It’s also women who tell you certain things make you ugly and “look like a man.” Women who make fun of feminine features in men. It’s women who think the best way to deal with a patriarchal system is by trying to befriend it so they can try to benefit off of it by “not being like other girls” — the way people boil feminism down to the proximity of femininity and masculinity on the internet really bothers me. Some of the worst misogynists I’ve known in my life have been the republican women I’ve grown up around.

My roommate and I are financially unstable while he does through a long, complicated diagnosis process that started as we stopped being homeless. I just got a job, and it's going to pay well and allow us to get caught up and stable, but I don't get my check for a week and a half. We have rent due on the 1st, our storage bill due at the end of the month, and we are out of food.

#for anyone curious we are growing our own food to reduce food costs and thats going well but takes literal months and we were only able to #start as it got warmer so things are a little slow on that but we also have enough planted to feed us already so theres that #and i am actually still applying to more jobs in hopes of getting a 2nd because its expensive to have medical issues turns out #we are just now recovering from bad malnutrition issues thats kept us both on and off sick for months and my roommate is still severely #underweight but hes gained a little🎉

my friend was making an audio recording thing for me because they’re making a visual novel with voice acting and i love their voice for this one character.  and they kept asking me things about the background noise they were planning to use. to some, this may be annoying because the background noise probably doesnt matter to them.

but to me, it was everything.

there are a load of little things with noises that can set off Not Good responses and normally i have to just deal with them. but this friend gets it because they also get Not Good responses from certain sounds. and the fact that they just asked what was okay and what wasnt and didnt question why certain things are the way they are.

it was the best day of my life. and i think more people should experience things like this

I had to go first and give my heartfelt, yet funny Maid of Honor speech that everyone was lapping up (seriously, I had so many compliments tonight on how great it was, it was so touching and special to get that feedback)

Handed the Best Man the microphone and said, "Top that."

He didn't. I know it wasn't a competition, but I totally fucking won.
