[Image description: A traditional drawing based on the film It's Such a Beautiful Day. It depicts a sunny meadow littered with trees. This is drawn with markers, coloured pencils, and watercolours, and uses a lot of warm tones. This gives it a softer, almost blurry feel. On top of this, there's a pencil sketch of the outside of Bill's apartment. A shaky circle is drawn around this, with an incomplete border sketched in. Near the bottom and off-kilter, there's a drawing of Bill laying on his back, arms outstretched and face pointed upwards, blank. The outline is blue, faded and bleeding out as if water droplets have washed some of it away. At the top, the phrase "#1 - favourite film" is written".]
Recently watched the film "It's Such a Beautiful Day" by Don Hertzfeldt and it was totally fine and normal and did NOT make me feel feelings, okay guys??
I'm desperately resisting the urge to drop everything and watch 'It's Such a Beautiful Day' by Don Hertzfeldt because I know I won't be able to get anything done for 3 days after watching it.
Any good shows or movies you've watched recently? :O
YES. i genuinely need all of you to watch “It’s Such A Beautiful Day” by Don Hertzfeldt
it’s beautiful. it’s so beautiful and it made me cry my eyes out and filled my heart with so many emotions. it’s so well written and artistic and PLEASE watch this movie!!!
here’s a short preview, of my personal favorite part of the film:
why is religious Christmas imagery all so joyful and pleasant? where is the inherent horror of the birth of Christ? A mother is handed her newborn child, wailing and innocent. Her hands come away sticky. Red. Simply by giving her son life she has already killed him. He is doomed from the beginning. Her love will not save him from suffering. Because the thing cradled in her arms is not a baby, it is a sacrifice: born amongst the other bleating animals whose blood will one day be spilled in the name of what demands it. the night is silent with anticipation. Mary, did you know? That your womb was also a grave?
