is it weird to just answer the ask meme questions without actual asks? probably, but i want to yell about fandom shit rn so you can't stop me
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. its obvious that im in a grimm fixation rn, so i have to say nick/monroe as a romantic ship (or nick/monroe/rosalee), and the whole gang as a platonic relationship. For SGA, i'm always a mcshep fan but i honestly enjoy any pairing of AR1. Anyone that has followed me for an extended period of time knows that im a mcdanno (H50) and leverage ot3 truther as well.
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind. hmm, not sure? OH some folks doing the sga kinkmeme have mentioned john/cam and im very intrigued
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will. Rodney/Jennifer :( I love Jennifer, but the writers consistently changed her characterization and that relationship felt forced and weird (SGA)
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t. John/Elizabeth. I'm sorry! maybe its just because im gay af but to me their relationship felt like bffs, not romantic (SGA)
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what? I made that stargate cinnamon roll meme, if that counts
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? ~10 years
G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it? i'm a multishipper for sure, but one of the first ships i remember really clearly was eric/ryan from csi miami (circa age like 12)
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)? TV!
I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why? I dont know that it was entirely tumblr, but yeah, Voltron. The fandom was truly fucking awful
J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.) uhhhh, like every show tbh. 99% of the shows i watch came from tumblr or online friends
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc? Eliot Spencer (Leverage)
L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. hmm, I guess Adalind counts as a character who isnt one of my faves. She's a complex and interesting character, and its clear that a lot of her decisions come from a place of trauma. After having Diana it really shows that she does want to protect her and keep her safe (grimm)
M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend. Ronon (SGA), Hardison (Leverage), Teal'c (SG1), etc
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom 1. men showing emotions!!! (grimm does this well, thankfully) 2. on a similar note: depicting how the shit these characters get up to is traumatizing and how that impacts them long term 3. literally any canon queer rep. can we PLEASE have a show like stargate or grimm where one of the characters (especially a man) is canonically queer? is that so hard???
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of? Forfeit by Rise Against always makes me think of ascended Daniel/Jack (SG1). Oh and ever since i saw a gifset with lyrics from it, Timberwolves at New Jersey by Taking Back Sunday makes me think of John (SGA)
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas). one of these fuckin days i am going to write a baseball SGA AU
Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why. As previously mentioned: Voltron because the fan base was toxic and awful
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom? all my favorite fandoms are themed around found family so this is so hard lmao. Nick & Hank (Grimm), Eliot & Harry (Leverage Redemption), Harry & Breanna (LR), Don & Charlie if brothers count (Numb3rs), etc
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon anyone who reads my H50 fics knows that i will fuckin die on the hill that Danny has an anxiety disorder
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?  besides anxious danny, I'd say John having ADHD (SGA), and Monroe being bi (Grimm) are two right off the top of my head
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites 1. Steve McGarrett (H50) - he's been through so much shit, but he's still so damn loyal and protective and kind. He's such a good dude who is just traumatized beyond belief. 2. Charlie Eppes (Numb3rs) - besides the fact that i am CONVINCED he has ADHD, he's just so fucking loving and passionate about his work and the people he loves. he balances out the hardness of Don and the gang with the sheer size of his heart 3. Eliot Spencer (Leverage) - basically the same reason as steve. I have a type.
V - Which character do you relate to most? this is tough. probably Daniel (SG1) - esp early seasons - because of similar worldviews and interests and personalities, and Danny (H50) because of similar personalities
W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom. MISCOMMUNICATION!! its so frustrating.
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom. im a big ol softie so i love stuff like mutual pining, hurt/comfort, etc.
Y - What are your secondhand fandoms Good Omens is a big one rn lmao. I've read the book but haven't watched the show. Also, Daredevil probably. I watched at least the first season years ago, but haven't seen anything beyond that. I still enjoy seeing people's posts about it and i read fic sometimes
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! im so cranky rn about the lack of depiction of trauma/mental illness/neurodivergence/etc in fandoms where its to be expected. like with Grimm rn, you give Nick PTSD and sensory enhancements but then suddenly forget about them?? that's not how that works! Or why is it always just hinted at that characters are ND? why is it so hard to just be like 'yeah no x has ADHD (or whatever)'? i want to be able to actually have complex/tough/interesting/etc protags that are ALSO neurodiverse. if we're all reading John as having ADHD (SGA) or Parker being autistic (leverage) anyways, why can't these things just be intentionally part of the character

writer wednesday #14 - 8/17/2022
Tumblr media
Well, would you look at that - it’s Wednesday again! I hope everyone is having a good week so far, and that it only gets better from here. Here are three things that I read this week that definitely helped my week improve, and if you haven’t read them yet you absolutely should because each one of them is undeniably GREAT. This week the theme was parts of a whole.
*as always, this list is ordered by length.*
Burning Bright - Prologue by @tropes-and-tales
Oberyn Martell x Female Reader (& Ellaria Sand!!)
First part of Burning Bright
WC: 1.2k
Tumblr media
OKAY, SO. I have been meaning to dive into this story for a while now and idk what took me so damn long but boy oh boy am I glad to be here now! Oberyn Martell is one of my favorite fictional characters, and he is perfectly portrayed here. Especially when he’s lusting after Lannister blood 🥴 I’d love to watch that man carve a swath through those assholes, lemme tell ya. And then there’s Reader, who is just as intriguing in her own right (sort of reminds me of Tyrion’s backstory a little)… and seemingly just as against marriage as Oberyn is. I am SO looking forward to what happens when they meet!
Perhaps This Life Was Not My True Life by @prolix-yuy
Jack Daniels x Female Reader
Ch. 4 of Cognitive Dissonance
WC: 2.5k
Tumblr media
YEEHAW, FRIENDS! I’m playing catch up with this one because I - like a wayward cow - fell behind, but I’m about to giddy up on through the remaining available chapters faster’n Jack can call me Sugar. I continue to be in flippin’ awe of this Golden Circle x Westworld AU and the way that details from both universes are woven so well together. This chapter in particular, especially the Host communication log included (!), was a ton of fun and the action here set SO MUCH in motion. I cannot wait to see how this all plays out. Also? Totally correct, I’ve never wanted a man more. 🥴
All-Star Break by @something-tofightfor
Jack Daniels x Female Reader
Part of the On Deck Universe
WC: 9.2k
Tumblr media
BATTER UP (the fried foods!) Because it’s time to head to the fair with Baseball Jack! This entire AU is just so much fun and feels so warm and I know it *IS* summertime, but everything about this make me feel nostalgic about summertime. Its the CLEAR love of not only Jack Daniels as a character, but also the game of baseball - and all its quirks, regulations and superstitions - that make this one feel so full and fleshed out. Getting to see this side of Jack, when he’s relaxed and happy and things are easy and light? That’s a bigger treat than the fries or the ice cream or the fireworks. (But getting to taste ice cream on his tongue WHILE watching fireworks? 🥴) Everyone needs to read this one and all the accompanying parts before the meat of the story starts, which I am VERY much looking forward to!!

Author's note: Highschool AU // you’re Jack's highschool sweetheart that he speaks so fondly of in TGC.,
Tumblr media
He was the it-boy. The girls wanted to be with him and the guys wanted to be like him— but in an unprecedented twist of events, he was pursuing you. Jack Daniels was the perfect man. He excelled in all his subjects, had an interest in sports, video games, academics and television. He could charm his way through any conversation and he could be friends with anyone of his choosing, if he wanted to be. What not many people knew about Jack, was that he was a hopeless romantic at heart.
He’d been dating Cindy for a year and a half before she cheated on him in the parking lot at the annual high school pep rally. It was unanimous that Edward, the jock on the baseball team and Cindy’s blonde haired bright eyed conquest, was a downgrade from Jack. Jack didn't show it, but he was devastated upon learning of his girlfriend's unfaithfulness. He was about to give up on love.
But then you entered his life.
It was the January of senior year, and you were new. Shy, and freshly transferred from a different school on the other side of the country. The principal ushered you into your AP history class and introduced you. In that moment, Jack swore he had never met a woman as beautiful as yourself. Fresh faced and glowing, with the prettiest lips and eyes that sparkled like diamonds. His heart blossomed and he knew in that moment he just had to have you.
You slid into the vacant chair next to him, throwing your bag under the desk and pulling out a pen and notebook. "I'm Jack," he whispered, leaning over the gap between both desks. The rasp in his Southern accent took you by surprise and you offered him a sheepish smile, the corners of your eyes crinkling.
You were last to leave the class, scrambling into your bag to pull out a map of the school and your timetable, so you could figure out where exactly you had to be next. You gasped in shock when Jack, who was leaning against the corridor wall, jumped out at you. "Hey darlin,” he grinned, his brown eyes beaming as he shot you a grin.
"Oh, hey Jack," you replied. "Could you help me figure out where I have to be now? I can't tell if this is English or Economics." you scrunched up your nose trying to read the smudged print.
"It's lunchtime doll, how about you follow me to the cafeteria?" he suggested and you nodded your head, interlocking your arm in his as he guided you to the dining hall. Jack Daniels was the truest gentleman you had ever met, that's for sure. You both got your food, and sat down together on a large round table with around a dozen of his friends.
"Who's this?" Cindy spat, looking you up and down with a frown as you picked at your dinner.
Jack introduced you with delight and the rest of his friends said hello and asked you polite questions. It was in that moment, Cindy had decided she didn't like you. Of course she didn't — you were beautiful, and it was clear how enamoured Jack was, but she had already lost her chance when she cheated on him.
Jack lashed out at her when she prodded you, asking uncomfortable and rude questions. After that she was quick to shut up, shuffling into the chest of her new boyfriend and scowling. When the bell rang, Jack took you to your next class (despite it not being a class you shared with him), he just wanted to make sure you got there safely and on time. At the end of the school day, he asked you out on a date.
You rejected him kindly, citing that it was your first day in the city and you weren't ready for such a thing. You blessed him with a sweet kiss on the cheek and your action only affirmed that no matter what, you'd have to be his.
By the time April came around, posters advertising the 'spring fling' began to show themselves around high school. Most of yours and Jack's friends rolled their eyes at the thought of attending a dance, calling it 'lame' and for 'losers'. They talked about heading to a field after the dance was over, having a few beers and setting fireworks off to celebrate the end of the semester.
You pulled Jack to one side. "Can I be honest with you?" you asked him, nervously biting your lip.
"Of course sweetheart." he said, placing a firm hand on your shoulder. You hummed under his touch, a smile gracing your lips as butterflies fluttered around in your stomach.
"I'm really looking forward to the spring fling. I've always wanted to go to a dance and my old school didn't do them." you explained.
"I'm glad you told me, Jack muttered, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear. "Because there's something I've been meaning to ask you."
"Yeah?" you asked as he placed the palm of his hand on your face. He cupped your cheek and you found yourself subconsciously sinking into the warmth of his hold.
"Will you be my date to the dance?" he asked with hopeful eyes. You couldn't contain your excitement.
"I'd love that." you revealed and Jack's grin grew ecstatic.
You were a little late to the dance, and Jack grew nervous, tapping his feet impatiently in fear you would stand him up. It was through no fault of your own that you were late, you just wanted to make sure you looked perfect. This was possibly the only school dance you'd get to have. You checked your reflection in the mirror, fixing your makeup slightly and applying some lip gloss before slipping your feet into your new shoes that matched your flowy dress.
When you walked into the hall, Jack's jaw dropped. To him, you seemed to grow more and more beautiful everyday— but tonight you looked like a real life angel. A walking, talking, goddess. And you were all his. The ambience of the hand-strung fairylights as well as the soft melody of the song only spurred Jack on. He took your hand, pulling you close to his chest and sliding an arm around your waist, his hand resting gently on your hip.
"Will you do me the honour of dancing with me?" he asked nervously. You smiled and nodded, as he began to lead the slow dance.
His friends, the ones who had spoke so negatively about the spring fling, watched you and Jack in awe. You were the best couple in the room, that's for sure. And, although they'd never admit it— they were jealous. You rest your head on Jack's shoulder as you swayed your hips in time with the music.
"You look beautiful tonight." Jack admitted, his voice a hoarse whisper in your ear.
"You're handsome too." you revealed with a light giggle, watching the blush appear across Jack's cheeks.
Jack hummed your name softly. "Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked with a rush of confidence.
"I will." you agreed, leaning in and brushing a delicate kiss onto his lips.

Newsies/Swiped AU
Davey Jacobs as James Singer
Spot Conlon as Lance Black
Jack as Hannah
Racetrack Higgins as Rachel
Albert DaSilva as Weasley
Hotshot as Daniel
Les Jacobs as Ashlee Singer
Sarah as Leah Singer
Summary:
Davey and Spot are college roommates, both are in a computer coding class. Spot does his own thing and does what he needs to get through the year. Davey lives by a rule book, especially since Davey wanted to get into MIT instead of the college he's in at the moment. It's as simple as that.
One day Spot, along with his best friends Albert and Hotshot, approach Davey. They want his help creating an app. Not a dating app, but a hookup app. An app where you can get together with guys or girls, but it never lasts longer than that one hookup. Davey disagrees for a while before Spot finally offers to help pay for a ride to MIT if he'll help with the app. He also might do it because Spot "guarantees that every guy and girl will be on the app.
This really convinces Davey because he has a crush on an old friend from High School, the infamous not so infamous Jack Kelly. And he hopes that maybe he can work up the courage to talk to Jack again after a rough patch in high school.
So they set to work. Their coding teacher, Professor Denton, doesn't believe Spot for a second when he says that him, Hotshot, and Albert are working on an app as their project in their class. Davey made it clearly known that he has no interest in being known as the true creator of the app.
The app takes off great. Spot, Hotshot, and Albert are as happy as they can be. Hotshot hooks up with any girl who wants to. Albert, the openly Bisexual in the friendship group, hooks up with the boys and girls who want to. Spot, the closeted gay of the group, hooks up with girls. He originally wanted the app as a way to secretly meet people, boys, but his own paranoia kept him from disclosing that to Davey. This doesn't stop the jealousy when Albert continuously hooks up with a certain blond boy who's profile on the app only has a name of Racetrack.
Meanwhile, Davey manages to at least amend his friendship with Jack. Jack expresses how dumb and horrible he thinks the new dating app is and discloses to Davey that he can't understand why people would voluntarily do something that hurts them, referring to how some of his friends have had bad experiences with the app already.
The first semester of college goes by. Soon everyone's off for Christmas break. Spot, Hotshot, and Albert stay on campus and spend most of the break living their dream with the success of their app. Albert's just happy to have the slight fame and some of the attention, Spot's happy with the success, and Hotshot's thriving from the fame, but not in an arrogant egotistical way. He's just happy
Meanwhile, Davey's back home. He loves with his older sister and younger brother in an unreasonably lavish home, only there because of their parents who are hardly ever home. Davey has a few minor arguments with Les, mostly because of Les' behavior while Davey was away. Including taking and making Davey's room his "Home Office"
Davey spends Christmas dinner with his siblings and the FaceTime of their parents. After dinner, Davey learns of Sarah having created a profile on a new dating app. She goes out one night, hoping to meet someone and start a relationship after her last one left her torn apart. Davey begs Sarah's friend Katherine (also the girl who's had a crush on Sarah fro years) to help him and Les essentially spy on Sarah.
It's not until after seeing Sarah's heartbreak that Davey decides the app has to stop. So it does.
Davey shuts down the app and any others like it, forcing people to go back to regular dating apps. This sparks chaos back on campus. Spot, Albert, and Hotshot are all but hunted down for the "update", as this is what they pass it off as.
Davey returns to campus and avoids the boys, saying he's working on fixing the "bug". The boys finally corner him, although they are separated by a door. They try to get into Spot and Davey's shared dorm, which Spot lost his key for, and Davey manages to sneak out the window since they're on the ground floor.
Meanwhile, this conversation is happening outside.
Spot: "Dave, open the door!"
Hotshot: "Hang on, I got this." *Pulls out a lock pick*
Albert: "Hang on, where did you learn to do that?"
Hotshot: "My cell mate." *Even though he's never gotten anything beyond a singular detention in high school*
Albert: *completely confused and worried mouthing the words* his cellmate?!?!
They see Davey missing and they start searching for him.
Davey, however, has snuck over to Jack's fraternity house.
It's not Jack to answer the door though.
It's Racetrack
And Jojo
And Romeo
And Mush
And oh boy, Davey had never felt so scared in his life. A bunch of angry, college level boys who know he's friends with Spot Conlon. He begs them to hide him, give him a place to stay long enough for Spot and the others to stop looking for him.
It's not until Jack greets him with a smile and says he's not harmful that they let him in.
They ask Davey about Spot's app and tell him about their experiences. None of it sits well with Davey and he decides to make an app based off of the people who want relationships. So he makes a proposition to the Frat House. He'll help them make an app by their own rules. The rules of actually dating. All he asks is that they provide him a place to stay just for a few hours. None of them really believe him, but Jack convinces them that it's just a few hours.
Sometime later, Davey's back in his dorm room when the boys finally catch up to him. He tries to run out again, but he finally caves while forming a plan. You see, Sarah knows he can't sleep sometimes because of his habits. And he's basically guilted Spot into getting him some food whenever he's busy because he is the one who made the app, did all the coding and everything. Sarah got Davey some tea that helps him sleep.
And he asks for some, saying it'll help him calm down. In the process, Albert and Hotshot ask for some. They're stressed because the app is down, what's wrong with a little bit of calming tea, right???
Davey never drinks the tea, but Spot, Albert, and Hotshot do. Davey notices them asleep and he quickly packs up his computer and makes an escape. But he didn't realize that Hotshot woke up right as he escaped.
And so began the chase for Davey Jacobs.
It was definitely one for the books.
Davey ran straight to the Frat house. It was Jojo who opened the door. He almost didn't let Davey in until Jack told him to. Davey convinced the boys to let him stay in a spare bedroom.
But Spot was smart, he knew where Davey would go. He figured out Davey's crush on Jack. So that's where they went.
And oh boy, were those three boys in for a rock ride.
It started with knocking on the door. Aggressive, desperate knocking.
Next came the boys. It was Jack first with Race there to back him up. The three boys though tried really hard at begging to get in.
And then came down the fury of the Fraternity.
I'm talking baseball bats, candle holders, someone's jock strap. Everything. They all but surrounded the three boys looking for Davey while Davey simply worked in the guest bedroom upstairs.
To put it simply, those three boys wouldn't even consider showing their faces around that Fraternity house for a long time.
Eventually, Davey came clean to the Fraternity. He said he helped create the hook up app, but that he was also the one to shut it down. And he helped design a genuine dating app that made it known that people wanted more than meaningless sex.
Bonus?
Jack was the one to ask Davey out. Davey was a nervous anxious wreck, but he said yes. Jack couldn't help but laugh a little bit as Davey stuttered a yes. He thought it was adorable.
Davey managed to help Spot realize what he wanted. The two apologised, along with Albert and Hotshot. They realized the cruelty of their app. And Spot came out to his friends.
Hotshot owed Albert five dollars for that one. Spot was slightly offended, but he couldn't be for too long.
Especially since he asked Albert if Race was anything more than hook up. Albert said that Race probably wouldn't even consider being friends and he told Spot to go for it.
With some encouragement from Les and Davey, Katherine finally asked our Sarah. It was so embarrassingly awkward that both boys wanted to erase the memory.
So sort of happy ending.
So that left Albert and Hotshot.
The conversation went something like this:
Albert: "So, everyone we know wants a relationship."
Hotshot: "And?"
Albert: "Wanna go on a date?"
Hotshot: "Dude, no, we've had this discussion."
Hotshot: "But like, pizza sounds great right now."
This is kind of plotless but so was the movie😂

pedro boys + sports headcanons
I’m sorry I’m just a weak sucker of a sports girlie and I blame @skeletoncowboys for encouraging my wild ramblings (but also love you forever eri) anyways this was fun and that’s all that matters sometimes, go team!
Tumblr media
Jack Daniels: ok so number one biggest sports guy, watches everything and anything and gets into it! Makes friends with anyone who sits around him at games, probably loves getting into team chants and enjoys himself a good old fashioned rivalry. Whenever his team scores Jack cheers so loud and then loves to kiss you as a celebration treat, is the biggest fan of seeing you in any team memorabilia and gets handsy whenever you wear a jersey cause “you just look so god damn cute baby!”
Joel: my pure texas football boy! Loves rooting for the University of Texas Austin, owns various longhorn merchandise (that’s their mascot) watches the games religiously and loves to go to home games! Has fond memories of taking Tommy and Sarah to games and has been raising Sarah since she was old enough to walk to do the longhorn 🤘 hand symbol. You agree to go to a game with him and even if you don’t know what’s going on, just getting to enjoy that quality time with you and seeing you laugh amused, bright, the first time you hear the team band play is when Joel realizes he loves you
Javi P: casually watches sports but really doesn’t care, says he likes the Dallas Cowboys just cause but again really doesn’t give a shit, played baseball in high school for a few years but it was just to pass the time, mainly loves to tease and joke about whatever sport is going on and has plenty of jokes about Texan sports teams (as all of us Texans like myself do) at family gatherings if any game is on he honestly just uses the entire time to flirt and be cute with you
Marcus P: basketball fan for sure, came from a big basketball loving family and proudly continues the legacy of cheering for the same team, so like…if his dad is from Boston and loves the Celtics, Marcus will forever love them too. Because to him it’s about the memories he has of watching games together with his family and associating the team with them, so yeah he is loyal forever and proud of it! Anytime you take the time to just ask how his fav team is doing he gets the biggest heart eyes. Also for some reason gives off the vibes he was a big swimmer back in high school and I see him still swimming recreationally
Din (modern au): falls asleep during any sporting event it never fails and we love and respect him for that! But…if the baby is in any sports like t-ball Din becomes the biggest fan and will completely be watching the game with an intense but endearing focus!! Also, he keeps a punching bag and a few weights in his garage and out of curiosity you ask about his makeshift gym only to learn when he was younger Din was a trained MMA fighter and it melts your brain
Ezra: at first you think he might judge sports and see them as low culture but then you find out he’s really into boxing??? And then you find out he’s a WRESTLING FAN?? Boxing is intense and he tells you he loves watching because it’s “humans engaging with their fists in the oldest sport of all my gem, and that’s fighting” then he loves wrestling because it’s outlandish and he lives for the drama of seeing people scream and throw each other around in glorious outfits
Dave: does not care for sports other than golf, religiously tries to make time to play even if it’s just by himself, enjoys the solitude and concentration it takes. Funny enough he loves a goods sports documentary and is surprisingly good at bowling which you discover during a date night with him
Javi G: doesn’t get sports but is so sincere about it, sweet baby who smiles and says “I hope the team we like wins!” But whenever the FIFA World Cup rolls around he becomes the BIGGEST Spain fan, takes you to watch it live with him at the arena and yeah he might not even know who’s playing on the team but Javi just enjoys being around so many excited people rooting for his home county and loves getting caught up in the emotions
Max P: once joked that he was around when the first ever American football game was played so he “doesn’t need to see any of this new shit” and you don’t know if he’s actually telling the truth or lying so you don’t question him
Pero (modern au): loves soccer/football, is really good and quick on his feet but does not have a big team he watches. Besides that he is also really good at tennis because he’s so light on his footwork and loves the hand eye coordination it takes, really takes ping pong/table tennis very seriously and it’s kind of hilarious and cute watching him so grumpily focus
Frankie: big NFL classic american football boy! He’s the type of guy who can watch any team play and enjoys just watching to watch!! Knows and likes a lot of teams, because he moved around with the military started to do this sweet thing of cheering and getting into supporting the state’s team of wherever he is living so he can learn to love and appreciate the place he’s living in
Oberyn (modern au): does not watch sports but stays active and enjoys a variety of things recreationally from martial arts to water polo, absolutely LOVES the Olympics and watches every single event, you also casually discover he owns a very famous European football/soccer club when he takes you on a surprise date to a game and has his own private box seats
Dieter: thinks sports are shit but loves dodgeball, during a celebrity charity event he got really into the dodgeball game and didn’t hesitate to rip his shirt in half overwhelmed with emotions (also threw the ball too hard and accidentally hit John Stamos in the face and yes there are multiple meme videos of it online) funny enough he is invite to another celebrity sports charity event but this time it’s baseball and he whines the entire time. He sits in the outfield, during the game flat out walks away to get a pretzel and then flirts with you the rest of the time saying “I’m falling in GLOVE with you hot stuff!”

27 Hankvin
Thank you so much for being patient!!! I hope this is what you were thinking of!
Hankvin + Meeting at a Support Group AU
Tw: mentions of past alcoholism and topics surrounding it and the recovery. There’s a lot of inaccuracies but I did quite of bit of research to make it appropriate for fanfic and for the sake of their romance. Shout out to Church and Monica from the HankVin discord with helping me find sources and information.
Feel free to send me more prompts if you’re okay with it taking 30 years

“Hi, my name’s Gavin, and I’ve been clean for 5 years.”
Murmured greetings washed over the small circle. Hank was here for the first time after hitting rock bottom. Connor had pleaded him to get clean after he found him on the floor, pale and a bullet hole a few inches away from his head in the wall.
Connor was patient with this process and took up all his work while he was in rehab. Getting sober was probably the most difficult thing he’s gone through, aside from Cole’s death, which he is still recovering him. He doesn’t know if he’ll ever feel free from the deep emptiness he has in his chest. That boy was everything to him, and he was ripped away from him. There was no escape except at the bottom of a bottle of Jack Daniels.
Now, he was in this twelve-step program. He didn’t think they worked, but he had promised Connor he would try. It made him feel like he was weak for needing help like this. It was sad to see so many young people here who were taken by the bottle so young.
The man who was currently speaking seemed about 20 years his junior. He heard him say he was clean for 3 years; it seems like this program kept a tight community that had members from all lengths of sobriety. It also told him that he would be struggle with the itch to drink his sorrows for his entire life.
“I’m gonna cut the bullshit. It’s never easy, but it gets easier. I can go through the liquor aisle and not stop.” After the man finished speaking the group leader asked if anyone else would like to share.
“We seem to have a new member. You don’t have to tell us anything you don’t want to, but if we can put a name to the face.” the group leader smiled at him and Hank felt the eyes on him.
He felt intense steely gaze of the man who just spoke on him; he felt his fingers fidget.
“Yeah, um, my name’s Hank. I’ve been clean for 3 weeks now.” and people murmured greetings and congratulations. His eyes found it hard to leave the battered stranger. Gavin was it?
“I recommend the new people of our group find a sponsor. There’s an old saying ‘Stick with the winners’ we have plenty of people here who have been at this a long time in their journey you should consider.” they left with goals they wanted to complete and took a coffee break.
The stranger kept eyeing him. Hank had about enough. He strode up to him, paper coffee cup in hand.
“Somethin’ wrong with your eyes?” trying hard to suppress the hostility in his voice.
[mobile readers, beware the read more line]
The man didn’t look phased at his aggression, like he’s numb to it at this point. His eyes instead lit up with curiosity.
“I’ve seen you before.”
Hank stiffened at this. This was supposed to anonymous which was supposed to bring him comfort at not being recognized.
“Calm down, I don’t actually know you, as in we’ve never met. I’m Detective Reed.” giving him a half wave.
A detective? Detective Reed. Hmm he’s heard that name before. Never actually met the man but he’s come up before at the station.
“We’ve spoken on the phone. About the red ice case, you were handling it on the Chicago side.” Finally remembering his voice and the hinted Chicago lilt he had in the words he spoke. His voice held a faint growl that Hank found himself drawn to. He heard it while he spoke during the meeting.
“Yeah, that’s me. You’re kinda famous even on our side.” he reminds him of how grand he used to be. Hank feels a pit of shame of how far he’s fallen.
“Been keepin’ up on your current cases too. Pretty impressive. Enough ass kissin’. Not my style.” If Hank didn’t know any better, he thinks this guy has a bit of hero worship. He realizes in this room they are nothing but people who want nothing more but help and to be clean.
“Yeah? What brings you here?” He almost regrets asking the way Gavin’s eyes avert his.
“Well, guess you could say it’s the same reason I’m goin’ to these meetings.”
Hank nodded in understanding knowing full what he meant. Fowler had tried everything to get through to him. Jumped through hoops to make sure he had a job. He owed everything to Connor and Fowler. Reed, it seems, was given a transfer to Detroit.
He gave the man another once over. Strong jaw, face covered in faint and not-so-faint scars. Lips tantalizing him for a bite and eyes that oozed defiance.
Gavin smirked as he noticed Hank’s gaze and asked. “Wanna grab a coffee after this?”
Hank felt hot under Gavin’s knowing eyes. His self hadn’t been this good in while. This guy was young and attractive and was giving him some signals. Or perhaps he was reading it wrong and this is how he typically acted. Perhaps he just enjoyed the presence of another cop in this place and wanted to be his sponsor.
“What’s wrong with the coffee here?”
Gavin snorted, “It tastes like it was dipped in ass.”
Hank’s lips curled in amusement and nods as he motions Gavin to lead the way. They left in the middle of meeting; he doesn’t know how much Connor would appreciate knowing he left with the troublemaker of the group. He wondered if coffee really meant coffee. He forced the thoughts out. He was here for help not a booty call. He wouldn’t risk his recovery for anything.
It turns out it was just coffee. Gavin took him to this little hole in the wall place 3 blocks away from the AA building. They sat in a booth in the back, watching as Gavin grumbled a greeting to the waitress.
They sat across one another in silence, seemingly forgetting how to have and hold a conversation. Hank felt the need to fill the silence with something, but Gavin simply sipped his coffee and looked out the window.
“First meeting can be sorta rough, figured you could use a break outside of it.” finally breaking the silence continuing to look out the window.
Hank was taken back by the casual thoughtfulness of the idea. It had been hard being surrounded with that many people and so many of them had been sober longer than he could ever hope. It was overwhelming.
Hank didn’t say anything for a moment.
“You lookin’ to be my sponsor or somethin’?”
Gavin scoffed.
“I’m grateful as hell for my sponsor, she did everything she could to keep me from relapsing.” Gavin took a sip of his coffee and looked at Hank.
“I relapsed once. She found me in my apartment covered in my own puke. Cleaned me up, made me coffee and screamed her lungs out at me.” he laughs at the memory.
“Everyone’s been treating me like glass like any little thing would make me relapse.” Hank understood this very well. He knows Connor means well, and he appreciates his effort, but sometimes he could be overprotective and overbearing.
“But she didn’t. She gave me that tough love I needed.”
“Did you two…” his words heavy with insinuation, Gavin threw his head back and laughed, Hank felt his stomach flip.
“Nah, we’re both too gay for that shit.” once he finished laughing.
“Someone ever tell you you talk a lot?”
“If I had a dime every time someone told me to shut the fuck up…” he joked.
“I’m tellin’ ya to get to the point.”
“I’m tellin’ you I’m not gonna be a nurturing type sponsor. If you’re looking for me to hold your hand, then you should look for someone else.”
Gavin takes another sip of his coffee; Hank watches him with curiosity eager to hear what he has to say next.
“You’re a cop, right? It makes it harder. I know what that’s like. I won’t be nice, but I’ll be there for you. No bullshitting around.”
“That’s the kind of thing I need. I don’t need overbearing or hand holding.”
Gavin smirked. “Well, then got yourself a sponsor.”
The next few weren’t easy, but being Gavin made it bearable. He was right, he wasn’t nice. He was an abrasive arrogant asshole.
But he was there when he needed him. He always picked up the phone at 2 a.m when he was thinking about going to the nearest liquor store and losing himself. Gavin was good at distracting him by starting up arguments about which baseball team was better. Chicago’s or Detroit.
Hank tells him, “You guys have two teams and still suck ass.” Hearing the feigned offended gasp from Gavin never ceases to make him smile. He looks forward to it.
Hank would always get heated from Gavin knowing which buttons to press. By the time 4 A.M rolled around Hank almost forgot that he woke up in a cold sweat 2 hours earlier with the urge to drink.
They hung out every other day and would see each other at meetings. Before he would dread the meetings only because going there reminded him of far he had fallen. He’s told Gavin this and he watched as his face scrunched up in anger.
“You dumbass. Being there means you’re alive and you’re making your life better for yourself. It’s not failure it’s a God damn success. Every meeting is a fucking achievement.”
The dread turned to excitement. It meant he’d get to see Gavin again. The younger man usually walks in later than he did and would give Hank a quick nod while making a beeline for the coffee. He watches him as he takes the first sip and make a face of disgust. He’s never surprised to see him continue to drink it anyway.
After the meeting they would get lunch and chat about what had happened since they last saw each other. Hank wasn’t a particularly chatty person, but with Gavin it was different.
He remembers talking to Connor about him as they have yet to meet. Connor watched him with wariness.
“Hank…please don’t take this the wrong way.” He starts.
“Spit it out, Connor.”
“Are your feelings for Gavin starting to deviate into something inappropriate.” Hank choked on his coffee, coughing as he felt the liquid go down the wrong pipe. The idea of him and Gavin? They’ve only known each other for 9 months. But it’s honestly the happiest he’s felt since…well. Cole. He’d never be that happy again. But this was close.
Hank was silent after he coughed trying to clear the coffee from his airways.
“What the hell, Connor?” his mouth went dry, the way Connor was looking at him made his fingers twitch.
“If I’m wrong, I apologize.” he said after a moment. Connor wasn’t wrong when it came to picking up on things. Hank hadn’t noticed feelings growing inside him.
He hadn’t noticed the way his eyes would linger on his lips as he spoke. Or how his shaky hands felts so still when Gavin playfully clasped him on the shoulder. How he looked forward to hearing the grogginess in his voice when he calls him at 2 in the morning. The butterflies in his stomach he tried to suppress every time he would see his little arrogant smirk.
“I don’t…know what I’m feelin’.” after thinking about it for a moment.
Connor blinked in surprise at Hank’s honesty. The program and Gavin must have made him a bit more in touch with his feelings.
“Maybe you should tell Gavin.” Connor suggested.
—-That brought them back at the coffee shop for one of their weekly updates. It was mostly just to talk about the game from the previous night, but for Hank he wanted to say something more.
Gavin seemed to have notice the tension in the air. He didn’t say anything. Let Hank have the first say clear the air with whatever he wanted to get off his chest.
After a few minutes of silence, it seems Gavin’s small amount of patience ran out.
“Spit it out already? Did you relapse? Cuz you know that’s okay that’s what I’m here for.” Gavin’s face is determined, and he slides his hand on the table. Hank sees his hand begin to try and reach for his but in the last second plants his palm flat on the table.
Hank resists the urge to reach out but stopped himself too. Instead shaking his head in response.
“No, it’s something else…”
Gavin’s face hinted relief and transitioned concern. His face flashed a certain hardness to it.
“Guess I know what it is. Wanna change sponsors? I get it. It’s fine. Don’t worry you gotta do the best thing for your recovery. I’m not the most nurturing guy or anything and I’m not exactly that fun to hang out with but—”
“Will you shut up for a second?” Hank feeling a hint of annoyance but also wanted to soothe Gavin of his insecurities.
Gavin shut his mouth forehead crease his face confused but willing to listen to what Hank had to say.
“Not to kiss your ass, but you’re a great sponsor. I haven’t been close to relapsin’ since meeting you. You’ve done more for me than I expected. You’re there for me and you’re not as big of an asshole as you let people know. I don’t know we’ve only known each other a few months but….” the look in Hank’s eye said everything he didn’t say and everything he felt.
Gavin stared at him, eyes blown open, mouth hanging slightly ajar. Hank waited expectantly for Gavin to process everything.
“I… have to go.”
Gavin took some bills from his pocket leaving it on the table and leaving without another word.
Hank felt his insides crumble.
—-Connor kept an extra eye on Hank after that. Hank didn’t relapse, just felt empty. Empty at home. At the station. Only 3 days had passed, and he’s heard nothing from Gavin. The alcohol called to him, but he keeps on thinking on the disappointed look on Gavin’s face. It was hard to resist, and Connor was like a hawk, trying to get anything to drink would be nearly impossible.
He shouldn’t have said anything. It was too fast. It was inappropriate. Gavin wanted to help with his recovery and Hank made it complicated with feelings. You weren’t supposed to fall for your sponsor. He ruined everything. A good friend, someone he cared for deeply, chased off by his feelings.
—-
‘Meet me at the diner. Regular time.’
The message from Gavin sent Hank in a spiral of emotions. Gavin was speaking to him again after what felt like forever. What if it was to tell him they could no longer spend time together? Part of him didn’t want to go in fear of rejection. He was fully prepared for Gavin to look at him with a mixture of pity and disgust and tell him to never contact him again.
Before he could decide he was already in his car. Hours had passed and he was on his way to their diner. He spotted Gavin’s car. The man was never early to anything and so being here before he was added to the intensity of the situation.
His stomach is in knots as he hears the familiar bell chime when he enters the diner. There are a few people there already, Gavin sticks out among the rest. His entrance catches Gavin’s attention, the man looks up from his coffee, Hank averted his gaze and found the clock on the wall more interesting than Gavin’s stupidly pretty eyes.
He made it to their regular booth and sat down. The waitress poured Hank some coffee and left them to talk.
Silence was the first noticeable thing. Hank’s mouth dried up not knowing what to say. Anything he wanted to say die upon seeing Gavin.
“I’m sorry.” was the first thing Gavin said finally putting the deafening silence to an end.
Hank doesn’t know what to do with this statement. Sorry for not texting? Sorry for leaving so suddenly last time? Sorry for not reciprocating his feelings?
“For what?” He brings himself to say, voice trying not to crack under the strain of the tension between them.
Gavin runs a hand through the locks of his hair letting out a sigh and eyes starting at his coffee and landing on Hank.
“I don’t know…shit…I’m fuckin’…I don’t do this shit often. I’m sorry for bailing the other day. For not texting. It probably kinda fucked you up. 'Specially after you told me—”
“It’s fine, we all fuck up. You’re here now. Listen, you don’t have to say anything. You don’t feel the same way I get that.”
Gavin’s eyes widen.
“The fuck are you talkin’ about?” a confused look on his face appearance in the lines on his face.
“You’re my sponsor. You’re supposed to support me. Talk to me on the phone. Meet me up to check my progress. I misinterpreted that shit as feelings. I don’t know why a guy like you could ever love, hell, even like a guy like me. Fucked up as I am.”
Gavin’s expression grew increasingly more furious with each degrading thing Hank said about himself until Gavin slaps a hand on the table. It wasn’t loud enough to make Hank jump but to stop his rambling.
“Cut that shit out. You don’t know jackshit about how I feel about you or this situation. Sponsors aren’t supposed to talk to you for hours. They sure as hell aren’t supposed to meet for coffee 3 times a week. They aren’t supposed to think about what shade of blue your eyes are.”
Hank looks at him in hint of disbelief.
“What I’m sayin’ is, I feel the same fucking way. I left cuz I didn’t want you to get dragged down by my issues. Your recovery is the most important and I didn’t know if hanging around me would fuck you up.”
Hank continued listening, each word seemingly replacing the years alcohol had taken from his lifespan.
“I had to talk to my sponsor. She told me to stop being an idiot.” he chuckled at remembering her words. Gavin’s hand moved onto Hank’s. He moved over the table and pressing his lips against the older man’s, letting his lips tell Hank how much he means to him. Hank kisses back once the shock has died down, squeezing his hand in return.
It was everything Hank had hoped for. Gavin’s soft lips and tongue tasted of coffee, cigarettes, and sweet pastries. He could feel the stubble pleasantly scratch against his face. They parted ways once they remembered they were in a public space. Hank’s cheeks pinked by the experience.
“I can’t be your sponsor anymore.” Gavin said with a small smile. The words were soft, but Hank felt sadden at the fact Gavin would no longer hold that title.
“But that just means I can take you out.” Hank replies.
“It means you can fuck me into a mattress now, yeah.” Gavin’s eyes sparked with something Hank can’t quite place.
Hank scoffs, “Who says I’m doin’ the fucking?”
“Always knew you were a pillow princess.” Hank throws his head back and laughs, squeezing Gavin’s calloused hands again, never wanting to let go.
Their forgotten untouched coffee going cold as they continue to talk freely, without the restraints of sponsorship.

Warnings: None
Summary: Highschool AU, You move to Minnesota and attend high school there. Jonah just happens to be the captain of the Baseball team who also enjoys playing with girls.
The rest of the week passes by really fast. I get closer to Christina and Gabbie as we spend every break together and at Friday afternoon I Invite them over to my house. The game starts at 7pm so we have still plenty of time to kill.
“Really like your room, it looks so cosy. No surprise Jonah enjoyed being here and even more because you live in here”, Christina smirks at me and I just laugh, “Oh c’mon stop”. I told them both what happened on Tuesday night after the dinner.
Gabbie stands at the balcony looking over at his window, “So that’s his bedroom? What a coincidence. You could sneak over there as well, that’s so cute though but let’s be honest. Have you seen him shirtless already? I bet he walks around his room half naked all day”, she smirks.
“First of all, no I won’t crawl into his room, I don’t even like him and I haven’t seen him yet without a shirt on”, I shake my head at how they are acting, I’d lie though if I’d say I have never imagined his bare upper body.
“After the game there is always a party in the locker rooms. No matter if our team wins or not everyone just gets drunk but it’s even more fun if our school’s the winner of course. You have to come as well.”, Gabbie begs, “You might get some from a cute Baseball player.”
I run my fingers through my hair slowly nodding, “We will see okay but maybe I will come yeah”, I exclaim but knowing Jonah will be probably there making out with one of the cheerleaders and that’s one of the last things I want to see. Of course, he will do that, that’s the type of guy he is.
About two hours later I drive the three of us back to school.
“We need one of the best seats. Our boys have to see us”, Christian says all excited jumping out of my car. I giggle at both of their excitement and follow them inside. It also kind of makes me want to have a boyfriend playing some kind of sports so I can watch and cheer at him.
I cross my legs looking at all the players warming up already. I glance at Jonah talking to the couch biting my lip a little as he looks really good in his tricot. He turns around and winks over at me smirking some.
Jonah’s POV
I smile as I see her next to her friends at the bleachers feeling really happy she came to watch the game, not to mention how hot she looks in her tight jeans and crop top. I bite my lip knowing we need to win that game tonight, I was determined to.
I step onto the fresh field after the cheerleaders did their dance. The crowd instantly starts cheering and I feel my heart racing in my chest. I snap my head in Y/N’s direction and she is still smiling over at me.
We are the home team, so we start to get ready to bat. Me being our first batter I was already at the plate. Variations of cheers and chants are let out before the pitch is in. Strike. As the second comes in I swing and hit it deep center, scoring me a double. Our next batter steps into the box. I start getting my lead off. He hits it straight to short and I instantly sprint to third. I hear the famous words “play on ya” from my coach and start to slide. I turn my head to her and smile hearing her cute laugh as Christina whispers something to her, as she sees me looking she waves over at me showing me a thumbs up.
I take a deep breath looking to our next batter Kaden. The first pitch is great and Kaden goes for it. He hits it hard to the second basemen who fumbles with the ball before throwing him out at one, but me being me I thought I could make it home. I guess I thought wrong because as soon as I slide I hear the word out and I also hear the pitcher chuckle at me. We instantly get into a little glaring battle before I hear my coach call, “Marais forget it. It’s time to get on the mound.”
I sigh as I hold my head down. That can’t be true we can’t lose that game, not when she is watching me, I feel the need to impress her, to show I’m good at baseball. But after the first inning it doesn’t look good for us.
The other team is now currently winning with lead of one run because of a stupid error of a freshman at the beginning of the second inning. I have been pitching my ass off the entire second half as I really thought we still could win this and now the clean-up hitter for the other team is at bat.
He is cocky and arrogant winking at all the girls as he walks up to the plate. I could handle this guy. I roll my shoulders back trying to concentrate but I just got her in the back of my mind. The whole week I just kept thinking about her, her smile, her scent, her body, everything about her has me crazy. The catcher gives me the pitch call and the batter swings missing it. Strike one. Yes. I can see her smiling in the corner of my eyes.
The catcher throws it back. I grab the white ball to throw a slider. Once again, the batter misses and the umpire calls strike two. I feel my excitement rise but it’s not over yet. I could swear though that I heard her cheering my name making my heart flutter. Once I get the ball back the catcher gives me the sign for a screwball, I shook it off. I look to the coach and he gives me the same one. I want to show off how good I could be, I mean she is sitting at the side right now, I need to show off my best skills, so I ignore the coach and I decide that I’m going to throw a fastball right down the pipe.
I grab the red seams of the ball, wind up and let it loose. Suddenly the ball cracks off the bat and comes flying towards my face. I try to react to catch it, but it tips off my glove hitting the side of my head, some people jumping up from the bleachers.
Our coach runs onto the field calling for time to the umpires. I start to feel really dizzy, but I could not let him pull me out of the game, I’m not someone who gives up so easily and for sure not today. As I reach to pick up the ball, I stumble trip over my own feet. I regain enough balance to stay standing, but that was enough for the coach to call in another player. I hand my coach the ball as the athletic trainer walks me off the field into the dugout while I throw off my glove all upset.
I shake my head as I sit at the edge of the field pressing a cool-bag against my head. Everyone stares over at me but I try to ignore it, feeling also embarrassed that I didn’t listen to my coach. It was my own fault and now I have to watch how our team loses.
My POV
Christina and Gabbie walk directly to the field kissing Corbyn and Jack as it’s over. First, I sit there by myself then decide to walk down as well feeling so sorry for Jonah. I watched him at the side for the rest game seeing how he suffered as he wasn’t able to do anything.
As I approach the field I hug Daniel and Zach quickly then look around for Jonah. He still sits there, his head down as one of the cheerleaders approaches him, “Don’t even try to call me tonight! I definitely won’t have sex with a loser”, she says to him.
“Don’t worry that wasn’t my plan”, he mumbles as the players from the other game laugh. “Well not your day Marais hm? Too bad when even your girls don’t want you anymore”, the batter from before yells making his team chuckle.
“Just shut the fuck up Smith before I make you”, Jonah jumps up clearly angry but stumbling again being still dizzy. “Get home to cry in your mummy’s arms loser. Your time here is over”, the guy smirks giving Jonah a push before he walks off with his team.
I see how Jonah buries his face in his hands a moment then tries to get up.
“I’ll help you. Are you okay?”, I grab him at his arms to support him. “How is your head?”
“I’m alright Y/N. You don’t need to do that. I fucked up”, he sighs not looking at me.
I shake my head as I help him walk to the locker rooms to get finally off the field, “No you didn’t and it happens okay. I thought you still did great.” “You have no idea of baseball, right? But thank you little one”, he chuckles a little making me smile.
“I guess you aren’t in the mood for a party. I’m neither, so should I drive you home? You are too dizzy to get behind the wheel yourself anyways”, I suggest as he ruffles his hair, “You sure about that? You would do that rather than hooking up here with one of the players?” I shake my head and a smirk spreads cross his pretty face,” Well, my head still hurts will you help me change?”
Even when Jonah is hurt and whiny he still is able to be cheeky. I laugh some, “I will wait for you in my car Marais.”
About 15 minutes later I hear the car door open and I look up from my phone. He’s now in just a white shirt that hugs his strong upper body perfectly and some grey sweatpants shorts.
“Did you at least enjoy the game?”, he asks while I start the engine and drive home. I nod my head, “Yeah I mean I didn’t get it completely but it was quite fun to watch. Maybe I will be there another time”
“I mean I hope so, you could be my personal cheerleader you know.” “Yeah in your dreams”, I smirk and hit his arm. “I do dream of that no worries”, I suddenly feel how Jonah places his hand on my upper thigh. I suck in my breath, “Get your hand off there when you don’t want us to crash”, I warn him making him earning just a chuckle, “You can’t deny it. You enjoy those touches.”
I park in front of my house and he grabs his bag, “Thanks for driving me love, like honestly. Next time I will take you to school with me”, he smiles getting out of the car with me, “So you maybe wanna come inside? My mum isn’t home. We could…”, he ruffles his hair but I cut him off, “No thanks my mum texted me she made dinner so I should be there but it was fun also when you lost. Have a nice night.”
I get quickly into the house taking a deep breath not even wanting to think of all the things that would have happened when I would have been alone with him in his room.
After I had dinner I just lay down in bed being changed now in some pj shorts and some tank top. I walk to my window to get some fresh air when I see lights in Jonah’s room. I have mine off so he can’t see me. I don’t want to look like a creep and get back to my bed but my eyes widen as he slips off his shirt.
His upper body is even more toned than I imagined it. His abs look literally like photoshopped and he has quite prominent v-lines. I try to snap out of my thoughts but then watch how he sits on his bed, head hiding in his hands. He still seems to be sad about the game. It must be a lot of pressure for him to always win.
I don’t know when I stopped thinking but suddenly I stand on my balcony ready to crawl over to the roof of his house. I couldn’t see him so upset and alone in his room. I swallow as I look at the ground. I take a deep breath before I jump almost cheering out of happiness as I succeed. My mum isn’t allowed to find out so I have to be quiet. I crawl to his window and gently knock.
“Y/N?”, he asks all confused as he stares at me but I press my hand on his mouth so he will shut up. “Shh”
Jonah smirks against my palm and closes the window but he can’t hide his sad puppy eyes, “What are you doing here?”
“I don’t know myself but I saw you sitting and I felt sorry for you. You shouldn’t feel so bad for losing, you were great and…and”, I stop as I suddenly feel his arms sling around my waist pushing me back so I hit the wall.
“You are really something else you know”, he whispers, his voice being deeper than usual as his face is just a few inches away from mine now, “Thank you for doing that”
I wrap my arms around his neck hugging him tightly inhaling his scent that makes my knees go weak. Good thing he holds me even tighter now, my small body pressed into his bare one. I can feel his back muscles contract while he rubs his large hand along my back.
My head turns to the side so I can look into his eyes, “Please smile… for me”, I whisper. Jonah chuckles at my cuteness and can’t help but smile, “You are way too gorgeous to resist you know”, he tugs a strand of my hair behind my ear his fingers slowly stroking over the soft skin on my cheek as he leans closer, the tips of our noses touching. I feel his hot breath against my skin making me shiver. God, what is he doing to me.
To be continued…

Hand in Hand, Side by Side
Steggy Week, day 3 Prompt: AUs and Crossovers
Summary: ...it was a mark of the gruff affection that he held for Peggy that Phillips didn’t think about the ulcer-inducing process of tracking down a teenaged boy who was willing to be a pairs ice skater and replied only, “I’ll find someone.”
AKA the pairs skating AU no one wanted
AO3 link here.
Steve should never have been recruited. He had doctor’s orders to find some exercise to build his stamina and he saw the way his mom winced when she looked at the prices for membership at the nearest pool so he suggested skating instead. The old rink near their house had cheap rentals, so every week Steve made his way over, trading four crumpled ones in exchange for a pair of scuffed skates far past being broken in. He should have skated the perimeter of the rink for a few months, moving from careful and nervous, barely balancing, to increased confidence even without the lessons he could ill-afford, before the experiment was halted.
Except: Abe Erskine had a cousin in Brighton Beach who wouldn’t stop pushing for him to be allowed to emigrate, and finally, in the last months of the USSR, his visa was stamped and he entered the United States. When they asked his occupation at the airport, some exhausted woman with braids piled on her head who didn’t seem to particularly care about the answer wrote down what he said - “Ice skating coach” - even though “Dissident” was the more recent and accurate job title. He hadn’t been to an Olympics since before Sarajevo, and most people didn’t know him anymore, the name only recalled by the occasional ardent skating fan. But he had been able to scrape together a roster of students, and it was while trying not to wince as a talented but mechanical student named Dottie Underwood took all the love out of a Swan Lake program, that he noticed Steve.
He was attempting a jump, something like a toe loop that he had no business trying and was fumbling through quite badly. But the vivid concentration alight on his face was exactly the same as a young girl Erskine had known from the time she was seven until the time she ascended the highest tier of the Olympic podium, and so, after Dottie had packed up and left precisely on time, Erskine found himself going over to where Steve sat on the bench at the intersection of the shadows of the American and Canadian flags. And as Steve unlaced his skates, Erskine offered the question: “Have you ever thought about being coached?”
Steve laughed through the first inquiries, and Steve’s mother laughed, exhaustedly, through the next. Steve was sickly, untrained, and don’t think she didn’t know how much coaching and competition would cost.
“I promise,” said Erskine, who would be going home to a barely heated apartment and once again filling the spaces in his belly with tea, “that you will never have to pay more than your four dollars a week.”
And Steve, who had blocked out as best he could the joy of a smooth pass around the rink, a new trick invented and mastered, because he knew that it would end, said, “If you can keep that promise, Mr. Erskine, then I’d like to try.”
Sarah Rogers paid her four dollars, and Erskine and Steve worked early morning and darkening evenings, skirting Steve’s school schedule and doctor’s appointments and necessary afternoons off because Bucky needed to see some new movie or because maybe Steve couldn’t breathe too well, but he was fast and that was important on a baseball team.
But over the months, despite the breaks, despite the youth, despite the rundown practice facility and the secondhand skates that Erskine had bought for Steve so at least he’d own a pair, somehow Steve became good. They waited a week, two weeks, a month, after the first time someone other than Erskine or Bucky or Sarah Rogers watched Steve try a spin or a jump and cocked their head in unintentional surprise and couldn’t look away. And then, the winter Steve was eleven, Erskine made a phone call because he’d always known that a solo career wasn’t sustainable if he was going to keep his promise to Sarah Rogers.
He and Chester Phillips didn’t generally bother with pleasantries, a good thing as excitement slid through tired veins.
“Phillips,” he said instead, “if your girl is still looking for a partner, I think I have one.”
Peggy skated for the first time when she was small, sliding minutely along the pond at the back of their property, her hands gripped by her brother. Her mother acquiesced easily to lessons when she asked for them, and less easily to hiring a proper coach for her after Peggy presented a carefully researched file of the best options.
That coach recommended Phillips when the Carters announced that they would be moving to New York. Peggy was technically an American citizen - her mother had joined her father on a business trip and Peggy had been a bit too eager to be born - but the only thing that felt like a homecoming was entering her new rink each day. The smell of feet and sweat and cold, while not pleasant, was the same all around the world.
A year into working with Phillips, he told her that she was good, very good, but she was almost certainly not going to become a professional as a figure skater.
He took in the set of her jaw and held back a smile. He had known she’d get stubborn about it. “Don’t think of it as an insult, think of it as strategy. We need to get you in a smaller pond.”
Her jaw slackened, her shoulders dropped. “Pairs?” she asked, because she picked up quick.
He gave her a bared-tooth grin, blink and miss it, before he said, “Hope you weren’t in the sport for the fans. You’ll have to work up to national skill before you skate to a stadium of more than moms and dads.”
But she ignored this. “Who’s meant to partner me?”
And it was a mark of the gruff affection that he held for Peggy that Phillips didn’t think about the ulcer-inducing process of tracking down a teenaged boy who was willing to be a pairs ice skater and replied only, “I’ll find someone.”
They went through three boys before Abraham Erskine walked into the rink, which felt a bit like tossing away rubies because only diamonds would do. But Daniel was too tentative, dependent on her to lead so that they were always a bit off, and Jack preferred showing off his own skills to working in tandem, and Eddie tried to catch her in the changing room and had to be send away with a broken nose. Finally Phillips introduced his old friend and the old friend introduced his floppy-haired student walking in behind him.
“You think this twig’s good enough to partner my girl?” Phillips boomed.
Peggy watched the new boy; she expected him to wince. Instead he said, voice quiet and sure, speaking from experience rather than bravado, “If I say I can do it, I can do it.” And somehow Peggy found herself believing him.
Steve was used to making do, and he’d known for a while that he’d have to skate pairs if he wanted to compete. It was useless to complain or wish for things to be different, because this was what he had.
Except that it turned out that what he had was pretty wonderful.
Peggy was a better skater than he was, but she wasn’t cruel or snobbish about it. She didn’t pity him, either, just worked hard and dared him to catch up.
“That was good,” she would say when he’d landed a difficult jump or had a successful run-through of a program, her voice appreciative rather than condescending, and it startled a grin out of him every time.
He’d thought he’d be nervous around her, just trying to keep his head down and avoid embarrassing himself in front of this unknown and talented girl with her British accent and her Manhattan apartment. But instead he found that he wanted to be friends with her. They came up with a secret handshake for before and after skating, and found out what each other’s favorite candies were. He introduced her to his mother and Bucky. She trained him in how to recognize a phone number by listening to the buttons’ tones, and he taught her about the best ways to catch popcorn or grapes in your mouth.
Steve had hoped to have a good partner. He had never imagined that he would get Peggy.
They had a cheering squad for when they competed locally: the Carters, Steve’s mother if she wasn’t scheduled to work, Bucky and whichever of the Barnes siblings or cousins were looking to tag along, and eventually Peggy’s friend Angie. When they went abroad for their first attempts at more major competition, Peggy’s mother came, as did the coaches, so the number of people who actually watched them skate into sixth place was more limited.
They went up to Canada for their first Junior Worlds. Steve was glad that it wasn’t any farther: no matter how many times Erskine assured her that girls and their families often paid a male partners’ expenses, his mother was already uncomfortable with the Carters covering skates and costumes, much less intercontinental travel. They scored eighth, and when Steve came home, for the first time since Erskine had first proposed the idea, Sarah Rogers asked him if perhaps it was time to stop dreaming.
She recognized immediately the look in his eyes, the willful fire that she’d first seen when he was a baby with a body fighting itself, when the doctor had shaken his head and said helplessly, “Just try to take care of him, Mrs. Rogers.”
“I’m not going to let us down like that,” he said. She was used to Steve being part of an us - it had been him and her for his entire life, and him and Bucky for only a slightly shorter time - but for the first time she realized he had that with Peggy too, a partnership formed from ice and hours and more defeats on the way to greater victories.
The next time she had an afternoon off, Sarah went to the rink and watched Steve and Peggy try a new lift. He nearly dropped her the first time, forcing her to recover awkwardly on one skate. She didn’t position herself properly the next time and they became tangled. After every attempt, they clasped hands, nearly unconsciously, and said something teasing so they would both laugh before trying again. It had seemed impossible that someone was more stubborn than Steve, but that was before seeing Peggy Carter set her jaw and look as if she would camp out on the ice rather than leave things unfinished. They were still working on the lift two hours later when Sarah left.
The next year Junior Worlds were in Croatia, and the lift, now perfect, helped them into second place.
They’d done well enough in their competitions - third at Four Continents, a series of gold medals from smaller events - but the commentators couldn’t hide the doubt in their voices as Steve and Peggy skated out during Worlds for the first time. They were up against more experienced competitors, Peggy was fuller-figured than the average skater, Steve leaner and smaller despite the beginnings of a growth spurt.
When they rewatched the tape later, they found the broadcast silent for nearly fifteen seconds after their swing medley faded and the two of them stood beaming at center ice. Then came the analysis, words piling over each other as everyone rushed to give shocked compliments. All the contrasts between them, the lowered expectations for what they would be able to do, only magnified the synchronicity and ease and care they had achieved.
Someone stuck a microphone in Steve’s face as he went to track down a Band Aid for a nick to his finger and asked what enabled the two of them to improve so much since their last competition. Another reporter found Peggy putting on a jacket and asked her the same thing.
That night the broadcast ended with a recap of the stunning American upset and a split screen of Peggy and Steve each pausing for half a breath and then saying, “Trust.”
Neither of them actually watched their star moment at the time. They’d found an unlocked door to the roof of their hotel the day before and agreed to meet up there. Peggy carried a thermos of hot chocolate; she often teased Steve that he should mature into either tea or coffee, but tonight she agreed that it would be the perfect thing. When he arrived, he had a package of her favorite shortbread in his pocket, and he wouldn’t tell her exactly where he tracked that down in Nice when they’d spent most of their time at the rink and he didn’t speak French besides.
A breeze blew by and they moved closer. They’d never been particularly touchy with each other: obviously things like lifts and throw jumps could be a bit full contact, but mostly they would brush hands or bump shoulders before and after a skate, do a hug during kiss-and-cry and after the judging. Still, after so much and so long - years of helping each other with homework, pushing each other for just that one more run-through of a routine or to get up and smile through a performance failure, discovering together what a boring nuisance international travel could be and working to alleviate that boredom with a million rounds of Twenty Questions and Truth or Dare - after all that, leaning on each other was unconscious, engrained.
“Hey,” said Steve, knocking his tented knees against hers. He almost diverted himself from what he was about to say, but on a near daily basis Peggy relied on him to toss her in the air, to catch her and support her when she came down. He could trust her with this; it was hers too. “What do you think the odds are that we’ll make it to Salt Lake City?”
She looked out for a moment, curled her hands around her hot cup and sipped. Then she turned to him with a grin. “Whatever the odds are, I wouldn’t bet against us. I don’t lose my bets.”
She’d been in the US for nearly half her life and still sounded so precisely British that, as far as Steve was concerned, she could have arrived at Buckingham Palace without an invitation. He reminded himself that he probably wasn’t allowed to be in love with her.
Phillips and Erskine brought in a choreographer to help them prepare for the Salt Lake games. Natasha was a former ballerina who looked barely older than the two of them, but she was Russian and in skating and dance, that had meaning.
Peggy loved Natasha immediately. They went out for drinks together when they were in countries where they were old enough. Steve had to build up a sort of tolerance for her; their personalities didn’t mesh automatically, but eventually they became good friends. She made their routines better either way, but worked them harder too. Some nights, Steve and Peggy sat on the bench by the edge of the rink less because of the chats they’d always liked to have as the lights were slowly turned off, and more because the thought of standing and moving to go home sounded unbearably strenuous.
They got a little press in the lead-up to the games - a People sidebar, a mention in the Times spread on the US Olympians - but Michelle Kwan was better known, considered the one to watch if you were going to catch a skating event.
Michelle walked away with the bronze. Steve and Peggy successfully ignored Phillips’s pacing, Erskine’s clenched knuckles, and Natasha’s terrifying stillness, and got through their programs, one to a Ludovico Einaudi piece and the other to “Killer Queen” for variety. In their hugs afterwards, in their exchanged glance, they felt a shared hope that perhaps they could pull this off. Perhaps all those hours of training and travel and listening to Phillips yell would end in more than just the two of them having found each other...
That night, when they couldn’t sleep for smiling, they found themselves on the floor of Steve’s room, holding their medals beside each other, watching the light play off the gold.
“Thank you,” Steve said after a while. “Mostly for never betting against us.”
She thought about saying something cheeky to keep things light. Instead: “Thank you for never giving me a reason to.”
She bumped his shoulder softly. He bumped back, smiling.

Sorry it took so long guys. Here is something new 😘❤
After an intense few minutes between Four and I things finally smoothed themselves out. Four invited us to dinner at his and Tris's house. I was actually excited and hoped meeting Tris tonight would make the work picnic tomorrow less nerve wracking.
"You know it's just because he's like an over protective brother right?"
"Hmm what? Sorry sort of lost in thought," Eric had jarred me from my thoughts.
We were going to stop at Eric's first to change before we headed to the Eaton's.
"I meant Four. He's really not an asshole. Actually out of the two of us I'm the bigger asshole. It's just well we're like brother's, he's was just being over protective," Eric sighed.
"It's fine. Really, I get."
Eric seemed a little edgy since Four and I snapped at each other.
"At least he has a great sense of humour," I snickered.
"Eh he's a dick," Eric shrugged and laughed. Think he was a little sensitive I had to buy him if I broke him was all.
Four and Tris lived in the same gated community Eric did, just a few blocks over. The house was slightly large but similar shaped.
Eric opened the door without knocking and a small brown haired boy appeared and ran full speed towards him.
"EWRIC!!! I MISSEDED YOU!!," he cried excitedly.
"Hey buddy!! I missed you too! Want meet my new friend?" Eric asked highfiving the boy.
He snuggled his head into Eric's shoulder and waved his fingers shyly.
"O.k.," the little boy answered shyly.
"Me too. About time you finally bring her around," a woman with darker blonde hair appeared with hands on her hips and a playful smile.
"Hey Tris. Danielle this is James my buddy and Tris his mommy. Obviously this is Danielle," Eric side hugged her and moved aside.
"Nice to finally meet you. Heard you already met my jack ass husband, who is in the den by the way," she nodded for Eric to head further in the house," I'm finishing dinner up like to join me? I have wine!" Tris smiled brightly.
"Love to," I noticed Eric give me that you alright look.
"I'm fine. Tris seems great. She can tell me all your secrets," I assured him.
"Damn I'm in trouble. She has alot to spill," he smirked.
"Ahhh Erwick stead a bad wor," James squeaked covering his mouth.
Tris swatted Eric in the butt with a towel in her hand before saying "yes he did. I spanked his butt."
"No bubbles?" James asked.
"No. No soap for Eric. THIS time," Tris laughed shaking her finger.
I couldn't help but try to hide my giggles. It was so cute. It was also revealed a slightly softer side of Eric. He and James headed towards the sound of a baseball game on a t.v. as I followed Tris to the kitchen.
Inside the house was also a similar lay-out to Eric's. It was less of a sleek look and a softer more comfy color scheme. It was very clean however looked lived in. You would swear Eric's was a demo house or something.
"So it's nice to finally meet the woman who has seemed to melt Eric's heart," Tris smiled handing me a glass of pink colored wine.
"I'm sure it's not THAT serious," I laughed.
"Honey, he only looks or talks about one other person like he does you. That person is currently on his lap," she nodded her head towards where Eric sat with James in his lap.
"Mariah?" I questioned.
"Girl please. IF she would've stayed, it would've been a trophy hole to fill," Tris scoffed as she rolled her eyes.
I almost spit out my wine trying not to laugh. I loved Tris already.
"I grew up with these guys. I mean sure I'm almost two years younger, but Eric lived down the street my whole life and Tobias's dad worked with mine for years and they lived like three blocks away."
"Wow. So like literally not figuratively," I was impressed. I didn't have friends like that. After Pete of course.
"Yeah. They've been threw alot. Neither had an easy home life. Two different reasons, but shitty all the same." "They had a small period of time they bumped heads in high school. But after they served in the Marines they pretty much became brother's and the only family each other had." Tris explained.
"I thought Eric was close with his older sister, Theresa, isn't that her name?" I was a little confused.
Tris's eyebrows rose before she suddenly found preparing the salad awful interesting. She didn't look up and lowered her voice when she finally spoke.
"They where. Very close. But you have to ask Eric about that. It's not my story to tell. I will tell you my older sister Lauren and Theresa where bestfriends and thick as thieves growing up." She sighed heavily.
"Lauren was the wild child, my older brother Caleb was the academic over achiever and I was the baby and daddy's spoiled brat until I was almost twelve," she laughed relaxing a little again.
I wasn't going to pry. I surly wouldn't want Amber spilling some of my history to Eric before I did. However it was clear they all cared about each other alot and went threw alot together.
"I will tell you before you meet anyone tomorrow and so you understand Lauren was Eric's first everything except his girlfriend. Funny enough Mariah was Eric's first girlfriend. He didn't date when we where all younger if you get what I mean."
"Eric and Lauren are close and have history, however my sister has been married seven years and has three kids with her husband. Please don't let that rub you the wrong way. Most people don't get it."
Tris sounded nothing but honest and sincere. I appreciated, but she really didn't owe me any explanations.
"Thank you. But everyone does realize we aren't dating. Plus, your sister came WAY before me and will still probably be around WAY after me," I sipped on my wine suddenly feeling a little nervous.
"You really don't get it do you," Tris shook her head with a light laugh.
"Honestly I'm starting to think I apparently don't," I said quietly.
"Oh it's not a bad thing. It's just He doesn't let people in and honestly Eric doesn't usually like a whole lot of people. Danielle with you Eric is hoping if he's patient that he will have everything he THOUGHT he never wanted with you." Tris said quietly as she checked the lasagna in the oven.
I couldn't help but laugh. I still couldn't understand why someone like Eric could be so interested in me. Especially if he actually knew how not so great of a person I was when I spent those years with Pete.
"What? You think I'm kidding? I promise I'm not," Tris said with a kind smile.
"I just don't get I guess. I'm nothing special with literally nothing to offer. I think Eric is amazing and I love and value our friendship. I don't want to do anything to loose that," I explained.
"I get that. But I will tell you this, if you take a chance on him I can almost promise you, you won't be disappointed," Tris winked as she finished her sentence.
"You're probably right, I just can't say the same for Eric," I mumbled quietly.
I seen first confusion then understanding pass threw her eyes. But then I saw disappointment and anger registered. This confused me.
"Why do you think so little of yourself? Look dinner is ready but this conversation isn't over. After I put James to bed we need to have a serious girl or woman or whatever the hell you care to call it talk. Because from where I'm standing you have serious confidence and self worth issue."
Before I could speak she hollered dinner was done. She gave me a sympathetic smile.
"Come on Danielle time to feed the pigs," she smiled and headed towards the dinner table.
I wasn't quite sure which feeling was stronger in me at this point. Joy or fear.

matthew boyd/daniel norris, "You’re in a car with a beautiful boy, and he won’t tell you that he loves / you, but he loves you. And you feel like you’ve done something terrible"
>_> So I’ve had this road trip AU plotted for them since the year of our lord 2016. But I’ve never been able to write it.
Something familiar that’s comforting is that Daniel always looks the same when he’s driving. The way the streetlights stripe along his face on long stretches of road on the highway.
Matt doesn’t really trust Shaggy, in spite of all the good work that’s been done on him. And he was there when Mr. Norris and Daniel rebuilt the engine, and Matt was knocking around post-divorce, trying to figure himself off as one whole instead of half of Matt-and-Ashley.
Dino’s been his best friend for what feels like ages, but it’s only been a handful of years. Daniel’s younger, but wiser, and Matt hadn’t felt anywhere else was safe except with him.
He’d gotten his hands dirty with him, mucking around, and cleaning up engine parts so they fit in with everything else. Working in the humid Tennessee nights, dreaming about baseball season, about his marriage not going wrong-- about a lot of things.
Daniel takes him hiking and kisses him under the red leaves of a blackgum tree and lays him down in fallen leaves and their dreams of October baseball dissipate in the sounds of crickets chirping and the crunch of leaves as Daniel covers Matt’s body with his own and takes away the sting of everything.
This is different, Daniel drives with his hands clutching the wheel, like if he doesn’t grip it hard it’s going to float away. There’s no tenderness with the white knuckled grip. Daniel drives with a single minded purpose, Jack Johnson playing loud enough to drown out conversation.
(Back when they knocked around Lansing together, when they lived together and Matt didn’t know he was-- he liked men yet-- when they’d go out for dinner after games, it was like this too-- good or bad.)
Matt thinks that Daniel might love him. Might have loved him for a long time and there’s a twist of something uncomfortable, that he tries to banish away with the familiarity. How long has it been--
Matt still talks about trying to reconcile with Ashley, talks about the family they could have had-- and Daniel listens like a Saint, holds on to Matt’s hands and bows his head so they can pray together.
Then the next moment he’s on his knees and making Matt forget about everything else.
Matt turns the radio down.
“Hey, Dino, can we talk?” Matt asks.
“’Bout what?” Daniel asks. He doesn’t take his eyes off the road. And the words rest heavy on the tip of Matt’s tongue. Does he hurt him? Has he hurt him? If he reaches out now what would be the gain or the loss. Daniel’s beautiful, shadowed as they drive.
“It doesn’t matter-- I just...” Matt doesn’t know how to untwist the feeling that’s suddenly in his stomach. “I just wanna talk.”
Daniel’s laugh washes over him, warm like bathwater, like laying on the grass in the sun, like a blanket out of the dryer.
“Okay, Matty.” Daniel says and his smile is carefree and beautiful, his eyes crinkling at the edges. Daniel starts talking about a camping trip he’d gone on, describing the wildlife, how he’d like to take Matt there some time.
Matt lets his hand creep over, he settles it on Daniel’s thigh as he talks.
Daniel never drives one handed, but he does this time, sliding his hand down to lace his fingers in with Matt’s.
Matt tries to feel less unsettled-- and focuses on the low tone of Daniel’s voice.
