You ask for opinions... Here's mine

I didn't like season 7 too much. But I think it was because I started watching the show in season 1 in 2005 and after season 5 the show felt so different. I didn't love season 6 but at least we had the promise of free will, everything about apocalypse was over, but we also has questions about what happened with Sam and how was Dean going to assimilate the civilian life. So season 6 felt like answering a lot of questions and even when it was so different we were always wanting to know what would come next. But with season 7 it felt like they were out of ideas, and the only thing they came up with was dick jokes, so watching that season weekly and without the knowledge of Cas being back at the end it felt a little bit boring and unappealing. I wasn't waiting the whole week for next episode. But with season 8 even with the feeling that the tablets and everything was not well managed, at least we had plots and subplots and I wanted to see what would come next. So I think that's why I didn't like season 7 too much.

Honestly... I think all of Supernatural doesn’t feel its best when you watch it weekly 😅 The seasons are kinda all over the place. Season 7 must have felt extra like that because gloom! Stuff! We made the Leviathan too powerful so we cannot actually use them too much! So... stuff! But individual episodes were good imo.

I mean, there’s a reason the only thing in the entire show I chose to spoil for myself was whether Castiel would return 😄
