Aesthetically Celebrating Your Birthday

“We enjoy looking and using aesthetically pleasing design because it satisfies our senses, it gives us pleasure.”

And why not when things are aesthetically designed or are aesthetically presented to someone they feel excited and intrigued about it.

       Ohk so bringing things into to context have you ever thought of cutting your birthday cake aesthetically, I am pretty sure you might not have thought about it and who even thinks about it while celebrating his birthday but my assistant creative director, Jeldon Craig thought about it while he was cutting his birthday cake.

      So he got a marzipan cake to be honest which I had seen or heard for the first time, although he had described It to us what the cake was and how is it going to taste.

So what exactly is marzipan you ask?

Marzipan (mah-zuh-pan) is a confection primarily made of sugar and almond meal. It is also often scented with vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and other sweet spices. It's almond fondant that's super chewy and sweet, and it makes any sweet pastry seem 10x fancier.

This was the cake before it was cut into pieces, and this was when it was cut aesthetically

NaNo Day 5

Daily Word Count: 1,004

So today was not my best day wordcount wise. That's mostly because I wasn't able to write at all until this evening, due to being dragged from my house to shop 😔. But the scenes I was writing are pretty fun, and I'm at 30% of my goal. This was the first night I stayed up till 1am writing lol.

There was a guy once who paid me a ridiculous amount to steal a rat for him. He never told me why. I stole the rat, but apparently the pet store was more prepared for thieves that I anticipated. A very angry old lady chased me out of the store with a broom.

Camp Nano Day 5

Have done a little writing, will hopefully do more, but I wanted to get this posted right quick just in case since things are crazy this week.

This is a little Idk, Dragons snippet of where Elara and Jeldon are right now (worked on finishing this scene for the first time in months lol since I finished the other thing I was working on) and a sneak peek at Linda's backstory.

“Ember.” It took her another sentence to realize he was trying to talk to her because she was so invested in her story. “Oh- what did you say?” “You don’t have to keep pretending you’re okay. I know what this is like. Looking for your parents and having everything you thought you knew about them turned upside down. It’s been different for both of us, but I’ve been here before, too, and I know you’re struggling with this.” Linda was quiet as they talked. He couldn’t tell if she was focused on flying and wasn’t paying attention to them, or if she was listening and letting them work it out themselves. “I’m- I’m fine, Jeldon.” She turned around to look at me, and I made sure my face conveyed that I was not accepting that answer. “That was not remotely convincing.” She took a deep breath and leaned back against my chest. I wrapped my arms around her waist, trying to let her know that I was here and I wasn’t going to let her go no matter what she said. “Linda had a daughter,” she whispered.

Find the Word Tag Game

I was tagged by @another-white-hole here. I believe the rules are to find the words you were given somewhere in your wip and share the snippets. My words were: animal, blue, and red. The scenes all ended up being from Idk, Dragons because they were easiest to find good ones for lol.

Aminal, from one of my favorite scenes where Elara and Jeldon dance in the still unnamed magic forest

Then, a group of fairy dragons flew off to the other edge of the clearing and pulled out these little objects she didn’t know how to describe, and then they started making these lovely sounds with them that made her want to dance more that before. Jeldon’s jaw had dropped a bit again. “What are those? How are they making those sounds?” she asked, her voice full of curiosity and wonder. “Those are instruments, but I’ve never seen or heard any quite like those. Instruments make noises called music. But this… This is magical. It doesn’t normally sound like this. And animals aren’t usually capable of playing instuments.” “This is what they talked about in the books?” This was better than anything she could’ve imagined. She grinned and grabbed his hand, pulling him into the center of the clearing. “Dance with me?” “I- I don’t know how-“ She frowned. “What do you mean you don’t know how? You just have to move.” He smiled a bit. “I’ll try. But I’m actually bad at this, so I’m sorry if I don’t live up to your expectations.” She tilted her head. “How can you be bad at dancing?” Jeldon just smiled more and shook his head a bit.

Blue, another scene I adore. The first time Jeldon and Elara saw each other in like 10 years and she hit him with a stick thinking he was a bear or something.

“Oh gosh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know it was you. Are you… are you okay?” “I’m great. I just got hit on the head with a stick. I think you cut me.” He held his hand to his ear. “I’m really, really sorry. I swear I didn’t mean to.” His midnight blue curls shined in the moonlight. She hadn’t even noticed the moon was out until now. It was way later than she’d expected. Jeldon had that angry look on his face, just like he had when they first met years ago. At least last time he hadn’t actually been glaring at her. This time he definitely was. “What are you even doing out in the woods this late?” “I could ask you the same thing.” It was a line she’d read in a book. She read the book months ago and had been waiting since then for an opportunity to use it. “I’m traveling. What are you doing?” “I’m traveling, too.” She raised her chin stubbornly. She wasn’t telling him anything more than he would tell her. He raised a brow at her. “Do you even know where you’re going?” “Absolutely. What kind of fool would be walking around in the forest in the middle of the night if they didn’t know where they were going?”

Red, this is the scene where we first meet Cynthia and Linda kidnaps her

“I’ve never gotten to see a dragon this close before.” Her voice didn’t shake, like Kalinda expected. She seemed to be in awe. “This is a wonderful way to die. I would be honored to die at your hands, magnificent beast.” This was a strange human, although Kalinda thought all humans were rather odd. Her hair was a silver-ish gray with red ends. The red definitely wasn’t natural in humans, but it fit her. Despite the fact that she seemed to be on the older end of the human lifespan, the woman carried herself like a warrior. The light gleamed on her medium-brown skin. “I need you to come with me.” She wasn’t sure how to interact with the human creatures anymore. It’d been so long. Maybe it would have been better to immediately explain that she wasn’t going to kill the woman, but the woman also didn’t particularly seem to care if she did. “Oh! You’re not killing me yet. Okay, I’ll totally accept a dragon ride before I die.” The woman was smiling. Definitely a strange one.

This was fun, I enjoyed looking for these.

Eve's weird question time: invent a crack ship either between ocs of ypur two different wips or your oc and character from a popular media. Or both. Of course I want to know reasons it would work and if you are up for it... how would they meet?

I asked @chainsaw-raven for help on this one because I wasn't really coming up with anything fun, and *boy* did she deliver. Putting the wips my ocs are from in parenthesis anything interests you.

Her first one was Elara (Idk, Dragons) x paint before she realized the question meant two characters, so that gets an honorable mention.

Then we have Linda (dragon oc from Idk Dragons) x Mushu (little dragon dude from Mulan). No clue how they met but Linda would hate him and either Elara or Cynthia would somehow force them to interact and she would begrudgingly consider them friends and then somehow they'd fall in love.

Another honorable mention to "a therapist x Aerin (unnamed academic rivals wip)" because he absolutely needs one.

Crack ship #4 is Cari x Daddy Shark, no I cannot elaborate (unless I am asked to elaborate because I cannot shut up so if asked I will answer)

Kronk x Emilia (The Flourescent Iguana) because he and Casper have similar personalities so they'd have a similar arc. I can see her pushing him off a cliff as their first meeting, the same way she did Casper.

"Jeldon (Idk, Dragons) x willy wonka becuase the jelly bean nickname. That's my only reason." -Etty. So yeah that one's literally just we call Jeldon "jelly bean".

Lyra and Timmble (both from The Adventures of Lyra and Timmble lol) already ARE a crack ship on their own imo because she's ME (my intentional self insert character) and it's a comedy full of whatever insanity I can come up with. They met because she accidentally summoned him from his world playing with candles and giving herself a paper cut.

A scene from early on in Idk, Dragons when Elara and Jeldon are just starting to work together. And it's when he first gives her the pet name Ember.

In the morning, she ran into him on her way out of her room. Literally ran into him. “Ow- who- Ember?” She really needed to stop injuring the poor guy. She was too busy frantically apologizing to even notice what he called her. “I am so sorry-“ He sighs. “It’s fine. Are you leaving the village today?” “Uh… I don’t know. I kind of have no clue where to go form here. I don’t know what I’m doing. Are you leaving today?” His brows drew together. “You walked through the middle of the forest looking for this village, and you didn’t have any plans past that?” She shrugged. He just shook his head and answered her question.“I’m not leaving today. I have enough spare money to stay here for one more night.” “Do you have plans, then? I could really use some help figuring this out.” “I don’t work for free, you know.” “I have more money.” She waved her pouch of gold coins in front of him. He laughed. “You really shouldn’t wave your money around like that in front of a thief. But sure, Ember. I’ll help you.” “Ember? It’s Elara.” “Oh. That’s a shame. Ember suits you.”

NaNo Update Day 6

Daily Word Count: 1,141

Total: 12.5k

I thought my weekends were gonna be my most productive NaNo time and I was very wrong but oh well. I do better during the week apparently.

I did do some non-writing productive things though, like discovering that Elara is an enneagram 4 and starting to figure out her mbti. Also, Elara and Jeldon's ship name is Ashglow now and it's adorable. And I have this random headcannon (except I'm the writer so it shall be cannon because I say so) of a dress she wears that her friend helps her make and I've decided that despite having very little drawing ability I'm going to draw her in this dress. So wish me luck guys. If it's not nightmare quality I'll show yall.

After finishing her painting, she noticed the garden. There was a huge apple tree, and, again, she had no concept of personal property. In the forest, she could pick anything she wanted as long as it was on Cynthia's safe plants list. This was obviously an apple, so she didn't see any problem with just picking it right off someone else's tree, even if she had to do a little fence climbing to get it.

Tangled Soundtrack Inspired Planning Things

-"when will my life begin" is very Elara, but it's less about wanting to leave the cave specifically, because that's her home and she's not being forcibly kept there or anything, she just wants to be able to have real experiences and stuff.

-"mother knows best" doesn't really happen except in Elara's own head. Her Mother Gothel is really just her own doubts and insecurities about herself that developed from the fear that her parents didn't want her.

-"I've got a dream" totally happens. Except with a werewolf pack Elara and Jeldon stumble upon :)

-the "kingdom dance" instrumental part is my favorite of the instrumental ones and there may or may not be a scene where Elara and Jeldon dance like that

-haven't really figured out if they have an "I see the light moment" yet but it'll probably happen lol

NaNo Day 4 (right?)

Daily Word Count: 2.7k (I really tried for 3k but I give up lol I'm done for the night)

Total: 10.3k

So I ended up writing a lot more than I expected today. The blood moon arrived and I was very rapidly losing motivation until the advil kicked in + I realized how close I was to 10k (and that I only had one scene till Jeldon showed up again lol). And then I apparently turned into a writing maniac.

I also wrote a lot cuz I thought I was gonna be babysitting 9 kids tonight, and then my mother didn't tell me that plans were canceled until an hour before we were supposed to be there, so it was just. Ugh. But I didn't worry about school things and just wrote all day since I didn't think I'd have time tonight.

Hitting 10k was awesome. I don't think I've ever come anywhere near 10k in 4 days before. Holy crap this is. Wow.

He raised a brow at her. "Do you even know where you're going?"

After she explains that she's looking for her parents and was found alone in a carriage:

"Are you sure they didn't abandon you?"

"I take back my apologies. I'm very glad I hit you with that stick."
