Vi The Merciless y completé mi pase como parte de The Merciless Evil Devil From Hell. Cada una rompió mi corazón y cambió la química de mi cerebro de una manera dulcemente dolorosa 😼💔.

DEATH'S GAME: PART 1
GENRES: Drama, Supernatural
SUMMARY: Caught in a game of punishing resurrection, a man who took his own life tries to find meaning in hanging on.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Pillar demons, citron tea, hundreds of cover letters, finding meaning in the mundane, fated connections, bullies, prison, male models, car chases, MMA, chair-fighting, gut-wrenching regret, hopelessness, redemption, and a dizzying number of A-list celebrities.
HOT TAKE: Episode 4 of this show broke me, hard. Although the plot is simple and a bit repetitive, every single acting performance is stellar. The character connections made with each new story gives the overarching experience real depth and emotion, and I can't wait for the second part coming in 2024.

Am I watching the Unexpected Business episodes with Jo In Sung and Han Hyo Joo and sighing over their easy camaraderie and incredible chemistry while I wait for the next episodes of Moving to drop like a complete loser? Yes, yes I am.

Another part of Merciless thoughts:
I want to see the rest of the day (that would be a night at that point?) when Hyunsoo comes back from jail.
After Jaeho picked him up, after they met Chun in Byunchul's office, and after the ferry party.
I want a tired Hyunsoo.
He was through a lot. He wears the same clothes that he had worn 3 years ago. He hasn't taken a nice shower yet. And he didn't sleep in a normal bed for a long time.
It was a long day. And after it all, when the adrenaline wears off, he is just tired. Happy because he was finally out but extremely tired.
Still, when Jaeho suggests it, he goes with him to the older man's place. It's a nice rented space, so luxurious that Hyunsoo had only seen similar ones in dramas or magazines. They talk, watch some tv, and it lasts until it’s almost 2am.
Hyunsoo wants to stay longer, and spend more time with his Hyung because he missed him even if he won’t admit it out loud, but he's so tired.
So at one point, he forces himself to stand up from a very comfortable couch. He says it’s late and he has to go.
Jaeho shrugs and offers him that he can stay.
And Hyunsoo is too tired to protest much.
The younger man takes a shower at a wonderful temperature and just the right water pressure. The bathroom is big and the shampoo smells expensive.
Jaeho gives him clean clothes to wear (I may have a thing for sharing clothes) and when Hyunsoo says that he could take the couch, which is still much more comfortable than a prison bunk, Jaeho sends him to bed.
Jaeho’s bed.
A large bed with a bunch of pillows and sheets so soft that you feel like floating. Hyunsoo had never used one like that.
And he is once again too tired to argue, at this point asleep on his feet. He lays down and he’s so comfortable that he just falls asleep immediately.
Jaeho wants to follow. He finishes a few more things and then also changes for the night. And is on his way to lie down but he looks at Hyunsoo and stops. Instead of taking space next to Hyunsoo, he sits down on an armchair close to the bed.
He knows he acts like a total creep staring at the younger man like that when the younger is asleep but Hyunsoo is hard to take eyes from.
Jaeho knows that the younger man is beautiful but he looks absolutely stunning in Jaeho's bed, wearing Jaeho’s clothes and sleeping in Jaeho’s bed.
He looks extremely peaceful when he sleeps.
And Jaeho still can't comprehend that Hyunsoo is there. He knows that this thing, whatever it is, will probably not end well for either of them but he doesn't care at that moment.
He doesn't know how long it takes, but it can't be very long before Hyunsoo stirs slightly and opens his eyes. Like he felt that he was being watched.
And sees Jaeho sitting there.
“Why aren’t you sleeping?” he mumbles before frowning, “If I'm bothering you, I can really take the couch.”
He moves to sit up but Jaeho's voice stops him.
“You never bother me.
Hyunsoo pauses and stares at Jaeho. And when he decides that Jaeho means what he says, he lays back down again.
He keeps Jaeho's gaze and pats the empty space on the bed.
Jaeho is too weak to decline. He lays down next, keeping a distance, but he faces Hyunsoo. And Hyunsoo faces him.
It's silent, not counting the sounds behind the window. They stare at each other until Hyunsoo realizes that it's definitely been too long.
It's dark but Jaeho can swear that the younger man's ears were red.
Hyunsoo turns around with his back to him.
"Don't snore."
"I don't snore."
Hyunsoo huffs, like he knows better and Jaeho lets him. He still looks at Hyunsoo, at the exposed skin of the younger man's neck and his shoulder and he wishes he could rest his head there. To feel the warm skin and smell his body wash on Hyunsoo.
But he behaves. He stays on his side of the bed, which he only then notices is definitely too wide, and he keeps his distance, a nice proper distance, knowing that he shouldn't touch. No matter how much he wants.
So he only watches.

It's just so funny to think that Han Jae Ho who has decades of experience would just proceed to trust this one pretty boi who's been with him not more than five years and also kills his childhood friend bc he believed that he was the one who exposed the pretty boi, and that's why he can't see straight anymore-

i'm fangirling hard after Hyena and it mixes with all the previous fangirling it's like stars colliding
as a literal manifestation of that for example i'm thinking of that moment in Unexpected Business when Han Hyo Joo comes for her part time stint to the supermarket and asks Kim Hye Soo for a hug as a fan, and Hye Soo hugs her without a moment's hesitation, not recognizing her in a pandemic face mask, and as they hug over the counter, Hyo Joo's smiling eyes looking maybe in the camera or maybe at In Sung who notices that, sees her and grins, and i can't stop laughing and Hyo Joo pulls the mask down and says sunbaenim! and oh my god jagiya jagiya jagiya jagiya oh my god oppa oppa oppa oppa it all makes me so fucking happy

Drama Review: Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938
Tumblr media
Source: Google Images
An unexpected case leads Lee Yeon back in time to 1938, where he reencounters Ryu Hong Joo. Once a guardian spirit of the mountain in the west, she's now the owner of a high-end restaurant in the capital city of Gyeongseong. He also meets his younger brother Lee Rang. Meanwhile, another former guardian spirit and ex-friend Cheon Moo Young has become hostile. Lee Yeon struggles to return to the present, to his loved one.

One of the Most Unserious Dramas Out There
Before we start: I did not watch the first one and am not planning to watch it at all. Going into Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 I admit I had to do a Q&A with my sister to understand what happened between the Lee brothers in this drama's modern world. However, one does not actually need to watch the previous drama to watch this and honestly speaking, from what I saw and knew about it, Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 is a whole lot more interesting and fun.
That being said, lets get on with how I felt about this drama. I am not kidding when I say, this is the most unserious drama for a drama anyone would think to be serious. Practically half of this drama was comedy and that is a praise. The comedy bit plays a part in making Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 so darn interesting and fun. Yet, this show also pulls on your heartstrings be it the brothers, the best friends or the best friends' righthand people.
I understand romance was a huge part of the first instalment but in this, it was just a tiny bit and I believe that is why I freaking loved watching this drama. In terms of what romance there was, I have no complains too. I mean, I adore the mermaid and the only complain I have is that I wished we could have gotten more scenes with her powers. When Rang said he liked someone who's stronger than him, he was not lying. The way Yeohee was written was right up my alley, she may not be as powerful as Rang but she saved him more times than he saved her and even when she was in danger, she still did not back down on a losing fight. For that reason, Yeohee is I really thought I would dislike the mermaid but nope, I love her.
Another thing I seriously love about Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 was the friendships. Any friendship in this drama was a pleasure to watch. Obviously, the friendship among our three mountain gods was my favourite. Don't get me wrong, Yeon is extremely lovable but in this trio, I need to worship my lady, Hongjoo and lovingly protect the cinnamon roll, Mooyoung. These three portrayed my kind of friendship where they were tight as children, still tight as adults and even with unfortunate circumstances, they might hate but they love each other more. Of course, the friendship among the roommates was a delight too. I only highlighted my top two favourites but I am not lying when I claim that this show did friendships so well.
Now, now. We have a problem though. At the beginning of this drama, Taluipa told Yeon even if he changes something in 1938, it does not affect 2023. I think its safe for me to say that we do not want that to be true, right? I am just willing to believe that what Taluipa said meant that Rang would still be dead in 2023, nothing Yeon did in 1938 changed Rang's decision in the future. I would even go as far to say that, everything Yeon did in 1938 further encouraged Rang to make that choice in the future. That is all I am willing to believe because I hear there's a third season and I need my best friends and roommates reunited to fight (without a doubt) the original mountain god. Yes, I know I said all I am willing to believe is that Rang is still dead but that's because I am sure there will be no Nine-Tailed dramas without both Lee brothers alive.
When the next instalment comes out, I will watch it as long as Hongjoo and Mooyoung are still around (if Jaeyoo, Miyeon and Yeohee are too, even better). I don't even care if there will be more romance although I wish there wouldn't be.
Rating: ★★★★★
P.S.: Anyone else felt that the big bad villains were so pathetic as compared to the smaller villains?
