every time my friend says "asexual my ass" when she hears about my current relationship, i remind her and myself that the period during which i identified as asexual was due to an entirely lacking interest and willingness in sex, and that just because that changed doesn't mean i was faking it or that it was entirely circumstantial. the mystery is not how i went from brutally sex-repulsed to comfortable and interested—the mystery is why such a change is unacceptable and contradictory. guess what! my sexuality is fluid! that's kind of the idea behind the label of aceflux! i don't know what the future holds! but i don't think gay people identify as gay because they think "man, in 50 years i think i'll definitely be a homosexual" (for lack of a better comparison). it's okay to change labels; they're descriptions of identities, and change is a part of life!
