aghhh i’ve been thinking about the httyd books again and how Absolutely Insane they are…. i ADORE watching people react to them because there’s this one point in the series where everything just feels different. and they don’t give you time to process what on earth happened before launching you head first full speed into one of the best pieces of literature i think i’ve ever read

#i think the point in the series where something ‘changes’ is when we first meet excellinor #as soon as her presence is felt theres just something looming over the rest of the events #that feeling is more prominent when we meet furious too #for the rest of the book theres just something There. something isnt quite right bc what the fuck did we just read #and then all the books following that are DIFFERENT and book 9 (i cant remember if this is there for the other books) #has a warning at the beginning??? like. hey. shit has changed. #and btw these books do an Amazing job at describing fear #the scene with hiccup in the tree trying to escape the witch is chilling #the audiobooks only enhance it #httyd books #how to train your dragon #how to break a dragon's heart #also im making a post ab this later but this was all inspired bc i read the little short side books #and i was really startled when i finished how to train your viking - a mostly light hearted book #and then went into the day of the dreader and it casually informed us that everyone on berk was slowly starving to death WHAT??? #its been so long since ive experienced that kind of whiplash from these books it had me a little :’)

Crocheted a bandana all in one go and it turned out pretty cute :) I love the colour of the yarn as well, can't wait to wear it when spring comes.

Saw Perfect Days with a friend, loved loved loved the portrayal of the little moments in our routines that make life beautiful.

My semester starts next Thursday and I'm excited/nervous, still need to organise everything and my thoughts.

Hmmm partially correct! I used to read a LOT when I was a kid, but now that I'm older I have very little time to and have kinda fell out of the habit...

When I was young though I would read (and I am not being dramatic or joking about this) a book a day. When I was really young I'd check out 5-10 of those fairy books and read them all in one night. I was friends with all the librarians and on first name basis with them.

My favorite genre is DEFINITELY fiction and I'm a sucker for a good dystopian book <3

GODS I just finished We Both Laughed in Pleasure. If you’re able to (especially if you’re a transfag or otherwise trans and mlm/nblm/etc.), please do totally read this. It was beautiful absolutely, it’s crazy to see the differences in our existing now and then with only like 30 years difference between his last diary entry and now, yet all the similarities in feelings and experiences. The love and care that Lou received from his family, and especially the support he gets in his transition and then through his time with AIDS, is something I’m so jealous of + something I am so channeling/praying for now and forever
