Family Feud Nominations, Who is the Best Doctor Who Family

If I've missed a character out of one of the families let me know (within reason, I imagine all these families are massive in the EU, so prioritise tv or significant characters)

Currently, the only rule is no families may inculde anyone who is even ambiguously The Doctor, it'll get super complicated super fast imo

Any characters, eg River, who can link up multiple different families to create a single massive family unit will be treated on a case by case basis. If it is possible to pick one of the smaller family units that they are a part of to include them in while not including them in any of the others (in a way everyone will agree at least makes sense) they will be included in that family only, otherwise they will not be included

Please bare in mind when you are nominating that I am hoping to keep the number of nominations under 64 to run this as a mini-tournament. This is not a hard rule so if nominations do exceed 64 its not a big deal, just something I'd like everyone to bare in mind

Several Democratic candidates in races against opponents backed by former President Donald Trump have received endorsements from Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.

Prominent state-level Republicans in Arizona, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and Pennsylvania have so far publicly expressed support for Democrats facing Trump-backed GOP nominees.

It remains to be seen if this trend will continue and what effect it may have on the outcome of the races. The upcoming midterms for the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, as well as elections for state offices, may prove a test of former President Trump's endorsement.

Here is a list of races where Republicans have backed the Democratic candidate.

ARIZONA

Arizona Republican state Representative Joel John revealed on Thursday that he was endorsing the Democratic candidate for Secretary of State, Adrian Fontes, over the GOP candidate, state Representative Mark Finchem.

Finchem has been endorsed by Trump and echoed the former president's unfounded claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him.

In a statement from John, shared to Twitter by the Fontes campaign, he said he was "proud" to support Fontes and cited Finchem's desire to "get rid of voting by mail" and that he "has sought to overturn the 2020 election."

KANSAS

Former Republican Governor Mike Hayden endorsed Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, a Democrat, for reelection this week over her Trump-endorsed opponent, state Attorney General Derek Schmidt.

Hayden was joined by another Republican and former Governor, Bill Graves, as well as former Democratic governors Kathleen Sebelius and John Carlin in calling for support for Kelly.

"In 50 years in Kansas politics I've seen the good times and the bad," Hayden said. "The affairs of Kansas are in good shape right now, and I credit the bipartisan approach of Governor Kelly."

OKLAHOMA

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Kendra Horn has received endorsements from three state-level Republicans as she faces Trump-endorsed U.S. Representative Markwayne Mullin.

Kris Steele, a Republican and former speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, publicly endorsed Horn over Mullin in a video released on Wednesday.

Steele said that Horn was "the kind of leader that we need to move our state forward in a positive, productive and healthy direction."

Horn has previously been endorsed by two other Republicans - former GOP state party chairman, Stephen Jones, and Steven Agee, former chairman of the Oklahoma City Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

PENNSYLVANIA

A number of Republicans have endorsed Democratic gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro in Pennsylvania over Trump-endorsed Republican state Senator Doug Mastriano.

At least 16 Republicans publicly backed Shapiro in August following a Reuters report that Mastriano had posed for a photo wearing a Confederate uniform in 2014.

The Republicans supporting Shapiro include former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, who served under former President George W. Bush, and former state Representative Mario Civera.

In a statement, Chertoff described Shapiro as "a staunch defender of our democratic institutions and will lead Pennsylvania with honor and integrity. I am proud to support his campaign for Governor."

Former Pennsylvania House Speaker Denny O'Brien, former state Representative Dave Steil and current Lawrence County Commissioner Morgan Boyd have also backed Shapiro.

TEXAS

Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick is seeking reelection this year, alongside Republican Governor Greg Abbott who's running for a third term. Patrick's website features his endorsement from former President Trump.

Former Republican Lt. Governor Bill Ratliff has endorsed Patrick's Democratic opponent, Mike Collier. Ratliff is the most prominent Texas Republican to back Collier so far, but he's not alone.

Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley and state Senator Kel Seliger have also thrown their support behind the Democrat.

"As a former elected Republican, I'm putting partisanship aside and joining the growing number of Republicans voting for the man we think is best for Texas, and that's Mike Collier," Ratliff said in a statement released by the Collier campaign.

Newsweek has asked the campaigns concerned for comment.
