Yay first request for yyh! Tysm Anon-chan :)

This is gonna be headcanons only, because it’ll get too long if I do it in scenarios that it’ll pass the character limit T-T

I hope you all (and anon-chan) enjoy this! Reader here is Gender Neutral (they/them)

REMINDER: These characters dont belong to me to Yoshihiro Togashi. This is also fictional work so please try not to take this too seriously :)

~Yusuke Urameshi~

- First of all, this man is protective, but not too much that his babysitting you.

- He hates seeing you get hurt tho...your one of the most precious people to him so if he sees you getting hurt...he’ll actually go berserk. Especially if you're human and have no abilities whatsoever.

- Since he has a lot of enemies, they will use you against him, and when they do, trust me they’ll get spirit gun-ed outside of existence lol

- If your injury is a minor one, then he isn’t really all that worried! He just lets you deal with it since he knows you can take care of it yourself.

- But if its a serious one...expect him to get really mad, he’ll start asking you questions like ‘Who did this to you?’ or ‘Give me their name!’ basically like an angry Bakugo.

- Once you give him a name, he’ll go and teach that person or demon a lesson. Don’t worry about him, his not the one getting hurt after all :)

- When his done, he’ll ask Genkai (Because you were brought to her) how your doing, and ones he knows your gonna be fine. He’ll rest easy and go to you and scold you.

- In reality, he really is worried about you...I mean you've stuck yourself to him this far, and he knows how insufferable he is sometimes.

- So don’t leave him early...alright?

- His an absolute sweetheart, the first thing he’ll do when your hurt is to make you smile<3

- For him if your happy his happy, but it doesn't mean that he isn't mad at whoever hurt you. He will stick his spirit sword up their ass you bet yea he will.

- If its a minor injury, he’ll just kiss the pain away! he saids, which earned him a bonk from Shizuru lol

- He also lets you pet and cuddle his cat. Eikichi, yea he’ll get jealous because he wants to cuddle with you but he’ll tolerate it, because you both are so cute :3

- If its serious...you best believe he’ll start panicking, he’ll calm down once your fine but...his still worried and also sad that he couldn't protect you...

- Like his supposed to be your knight in shining amor! The best boyfriend to you! So his actually really sad. Once you noticed that his upset, please comfort him :(

- But all in all, he’ll try and make you smile and happy because to him, he doesn't wanna see you sad or hurting. No....thats not what a man does!

~Yoko Kurama~ (Shuichi Minamino)

- Lets just say the person who hurt you won’t be alive for that long. No, their not gonna get a beating, oh no, their actually gonna face the wrath of Yoko Kurama. No one touches what's his.

- Now since we have Yoko and Shuichi, Shuichi would most likely have a chat with that person first and then see what he wants to do, but Yoko on the other hand, would want to kill that said person.

- But the thing is, he can’t do that, or otherwise the spirit world will be on his ass about it...so a little torturing wouldn't hurt....right?

- Also if this was a demon obviously that said demon who hurt you is gonna die a slow death, like Elder Toguro for example :)

- If its a human...well I guess scaring that human to death is more then appropriate~

- If its a minor injury that was caused by you, his fine with that! He’ll just ask you to be careful next time :)

- But if someone causes it...well their getting a way to calm smile from him :>

- After his dealt with everything, he goes back to check up on you, if your fine then he’ll smile lovingly at you, only you get to see that smile by the way ;3

- He’ll whisper sweet words to you, cuddle you, comfort you, words of promises, and basically be the best (fox) boyfriend you can ask for!

~Hiei Jaganshi~

- Looks like he doesn't care but actually cares, when his informed of you getting hurt minor or serious, he isn't exactly gonna be by your side in an instant. More like just watching you from afar.

- His a silent protector by all means, his like Xiao (from genshin) a protector who would rather follow you and look after you from afar (isn't that stalking?)

- If its a human then he can’t really kill that human...because of that damn spirit world so he’ll...just give them a warning.

- If its a demon, then that demon is gonna be burned to a crisp aka ashes. Thats all.

- When he finally decided to visit you, he’ll call you an idiot for putting yourself in danger like that, but on the inside (he just won't admit it) he does care. He just doesn't know how to show it.

- If you ask him to stay by your side while you rest, he’ll complain yet he’ll actually stay by your side until you're healed.

- Hiei will show that he cares through small actions, such as, carrying you wherever you wanna go (With a complain) and actually cuddling you :0

- Hiei loves you, he just doesn't know how to show it but he does, and trust me. Anyone who hurts you, will be burned to ashes.

‘’Hmph..your an idiot if you thought that you could take on a demon like that, what? now you want me to carry you around? Hmph.....your lucky...’’

Similar to the Seria 100-yen shop collab last year, the 390-yen shop THANK YOU MART have announced their first collaboration with Yu Yu Hakusho. For those of you who like fun and affordable goods, it's a great opportunity. They will also be available by mail order.

There's no new art, but the main characters Yusuke Urameshi, Kazuma Kuwabara, Hiei, and Kurama will appear in 46 items such as acrylic key chains, acrylic stands, T-shirts, socks, and a nostalgic pen case reminiscent of the Heisei period. Hmmm, how about an Hiei x S/O or his crush headcannons? Which the S/O who's a goober, like a sweet and adorable and a very romantic one (overdramatic one...) And like thinking that the S/O is like tall (like I guess 5'10 or smth idk 😅) and he's a smol angry demon man like he doesn't know why he dated/developed feelings for a human that's like this but secretly loves them (I just love the opposite attract and tall and small dynamics xD)

oooooh i love this idea!! i decided to do both (starts off as a crush then he becomes a lover) and ngl i kind of took the enemies to lovers route with this one since i feel like it fits his character more. i also decided to go with the "goofy but very strong character" trope with the s/o because honestly? why not lol.

i surprisingly had a lot of fun writing this and it got longer than expected, he's a little ooc in some parts but eh it's not that big of a deal tbh.

tw: injuries, reader almost dies at one point, brief mention of reader having trauma,

lets be real, hiei found you annoying at first, not as annoying as kuwabara but damn near close.

when you were going to fight he didn't have much hope in you, you would probably die in under a second knowing your nature, but as soon as you put in work it almost made his jaw drop.

how he developed feelings for you was at that very moment, he doesn't realize it until much later.

the way his stomach gets this thing called "butterflies" when he's near you, he doesn't move away or threaten you when you get near or touch him (he did at first threatening to rip your arm off) but then he can't help but grow hot... uncomfortably hot.

he's thinking you put him under some type of spell, why does he feel this way? especially over a human? sure, you show courage, sure, you fight well, but guaranteed that there are others who do as well...

but then he comes to the realization, he's never met a demon that has ever made him feel this way.

and a certain red head can see right through it.

kurama eventually asks hiei if something is wrong, but hiei states that he's fine, it takes a bit of time to convince the fire demon to come clean, that something is wrong with him, whilst he was ranting, kurama was listening.. and then he came to the realization.. hiei had a crush on you.

when kurama tells him, he denies it, saying that you were just some annoying human, and that he doesn't have crushes or has the time for a relationship, but kurama knows all of that is a lie, he likes you, and him denying everything just makes things worse.

it was made very clear that this information was kept between the two demons, and eventually, hiei would have to tell you.

some time passes by and you manage to get into a scuffle, you end up injured and hiei comes to the rescue, but tells you not to think of it too deeply.

you don't say anything, but hiei has been acting strange, it's gotten to the point where yusuke and kazuma notice, but don't say a word, it's even weirder when it's just the two of you, he's a lot more.. quiet, and noticeably kinder to you, he doesn't insult you as much anymore, other than that, things remain the same.

while your tidying up your wounds you still managed to keep a smile on your face and a sense of humor, going as far as to make fun of your loss.

hiei would've called you an idiot and told you to shut up, but he can't bring himself to do it somehow, the way you talk, your laugh, your smile, the butterflies get stronger and the blush on his cheeks start to grow darker.

damn... what's with this woman?? why is she so... so....?

it would take so much of his ego and pride to just man up and admit that he likes you, he's not good with words unless it's telling people off (he gets better with this, i promise).

eventually, you got into another fight, and your opponent was tough, so tough in fact you almost die fighting, and you ended up passing out for hours upon hours, the team thought you would die.

hiei put on his cold front as usual, but on the inside he's panicking, he can't lose you, not right now at least.

when it's just him in the infirmary, he looks down at your unconscious body feeling the urge to shed a tear, your happiness is... gone, staring down at nothing but a blank face.

he hoped that you didn't die, he made sure that when you wake up, he'll tell you that he likes you... though it's easier said than done, it'll still take a lot out of him.

eventually he gets in a vulnerable state, kurama yet again see's him, noticing that he's shaking, sitting in the grass at the edge of a cliff, staring into the sunset.

they talk for a while, kurama eventually convinces him that if he can't just flat out tell her, he could just write her a note, and even better, give her a gift.

but what would she even like?

he heard in passing with your talk with his sister, yukina, that you really liked cupcakes (im sorry if you don't like cupcakes just try to imagine it's like some other desert), so, he gets some cupcakes.. from somewhere... somehow... and writes you a letter about how he wants you to be his mate.

and when you say yes.. you're locked in.. forever.

eventually you do wake up, find the cupcake next to the table and eat it, noticing the note and reading over it, it comes to you almost as a shock... hiei? likes you? no way, this has to be some type of elaborate prank.

you do end up seeing hiei, who can't even look at your face, i mean you have to admit.. he's cute, a cute little short guy, while you're taller than him by some inches, he doesn't seem to mind this, he knows he's stronger than you, height doesn't mean jack shit to him.

and so, you accept his request, and now, the two of you are officially dating! or at least that's what you think and he wants.

at first, nothing changes, he's still a tad bit nervous around you, he ordered that there should be no pda in front of the team, he's not ready to tell everyone yet.

when you two are alone, he still had barriers up, not feeling the most comfortable with you yet, the two of you talk and get to know each other, realizing that the reason you were the way you were was because of your trauma, so you masked it with humor.

it takes a while for the two of you to be more intimate (not sexual), holding hangs, hugging, kissing, of course when there wasn't anyone around.

the only person he trusts in regards of knowing about the relationship is kurama and mukuro, no one else.

it takes him a bit to admit that he definitely loves his s/o, and you might've been one of the best things that has happened to him.

Kazuma Kuwabara thought that Yukina was his one and only love that he wanted to be with for the rest of his life....

But when you got introduced to everyone at Genkai's shrine as a shrine maiden he fell inlove with you right away at first slight.

At first, the group thought that this was just because he found you beautiful and that he would go back simping for Yukina but no....

He started courting you after a week

Everyone was shocked. However, you thought that these were just friendly gestures he was doing.

Kuwabara wanted to confess his feelings to you, so he asked the help of his friends and to be honest, Yusuke at first, wanted nothing to do with this but Keiko insisted and they all planed to arrange a date for you both!

It was a simple dinner date with Kurama being the chef, Yusuke as the waiter, Botan, Keiko and Shizuru handling the music and surprisedly...Hiei also wanted to help....so they assigned him to take pictures with a camera, of course with Kurama teaching his boyfriend friend how to use a camera.

The date/dinner was located at the shrine, and Genkai actually approved of it....she shipped you both too-

Kuwabara with a red face took you to the back of the shrine and you reached a place that was covered in beautiful plants and roses, the wonderful work was done by Kurama of course~

''K-Kazuma....whats all of this?'' You asked as you looked around the beautiful scenery......

Kuwabara chuckled and pulled the sit out for you as you thank him and sit, he sat at the other side of the table and looked away nervously.

''I wanted to...treat you!'' He said laughing, you giggle at this and then heard music playing in the background, you look behind you and saw Botan, Shizuru and Keiko playing the music......

You stared in shock as the 3 wink at you, ''Would you like your food to be served already?'' You hear a rough voice say in front of you.

You turned and saw Yusuke wearing a waiters outfit and he was smiling smugly.....

Just what was happening?

''Yes waiter, go bring us our food!'' Kuwabara said as he smirked, Yusuke looked pissed at this and grumbled while walking away.

''Really tho Kazuma....whats all this for?'' You ask him again, facing him. ''Well....I wanted to....treat you to a date'' He answered looking away with a blush......

You blushed and just nodded at this, a few minutes passed and Yusuke came back with your food, ''Heres your food, our chef Kurama worked really work on it'' He said placing the food down.

''Kurama cooked all this?'' You ask as you look over all the delicious food, ''Yep'' Yusuke answered and as he was walking away he glared at Kuwabara and grumbled, ''Hope ya choke on the food Kuwabara'' He said and walked away.

Kuwabara was about to throw hands at Yusuke but you quickly stopped him and told him that you both should enjoy the food while it was still hot.

After you both ate the delicious food, Kuwabara looked behind him and saw Shizuru telling him quietly to tell you already.....she was very much impatient as she wanted you to be her sister-in-law already!

Kuwabara coughed and stood up from his sit, walking over to you and suddenly bended down on one knee....

You blushed a bright red as Kuwabara blushed bright red as well.

''K-Kazuma, w-w-what are you doing!?'' You said flustered, he than pulled a box from his pocket and looked you in the eyes.

''W-Will you....be m-m-mine!?'' He said opening the box to revealed a beautiful bracelet....

Your eyes widened in shock and you were a lost for words....

''Me? Be yours..?'' You ask, ''Y-Yea....I like you a lot Y/n!'' He said with a desperation present in his voice.....

You stayed quiet for a few minutes and then smiled with small tears in your eyes, ''Yes...I'll be yours!'' You said happily as you hug him.

''R-REALLY!?'' He yelled, you nod and he carried you off the ground and stood up, sinning you around while yelling.

He then put the bracket on you and you kissed him on the cheek, Kuwabara felt like he just ascended to spirit world when you did that.

In the background, the whole team was celebrating and Hiei, who was in the trees as well as Genkai were smiling softly at this....

A shrine maiden and at the knight of love......

The most perfect combination couldn't be more perfect~

Words And Shouts

Summary: Hiei and Kuwabara bicker, Yusuke and Kurama talk. (Friendship, though can be taken as Kurama x Yusuke and Hiei x Kuwabara, 900+ words)

“Boy, they are really screaming at each other today!” Yusuke sighed, yawning as he plopped down next to Kurama on the couch.

Kurama grunted and shifted so Yusuke could drop his head against his arm. Yusuke wiggled until Kurama sighed, wrapped an arm around his shoulders, and let Yusuke get comfortable against his side. Yusuke hummed, making a happy sound in the back of his throat, that made Kurama chuckle.

“I didn’t ask for your help!” Hiei’s voice boomed from the next room over.

Kurama and Yusuke both winced at the sheer volume of Hiei’s shout.

“You’re right Yusuke, they are really shouting today,” Kurama chuckled, patting Yusuke’s arm soothingly as he winced at Hiei’s climbing voice.

“Hiei is so fuckin' pissed off… he doesn’t normally get that loud,” Yusuke mused. “Though I guess Kuwabara deserves it today.”

“A little angry at Kazuma as well?” Kurama asked amused.

“He stepped in between that guy and Hiei’s match! He could have died!” Yusuke huffed.

“...And Hiei would have died if he didn’t,” Kurama countered calmly, his voice a little cold.

Yusuke remained silent and burrowed closer to Kurama’s side.

After a while, he muttered, “You’re not chasing me away by starting a fight.”

“I’m not starting a fight. But, I'm going to make it clear. I agree with Kuwabara’s actions today,” Kurama said easily.

“...You are starting a fight,” Yusuke growled with annoyance.

“I don’t see you getting up from our cuddle,” Kurama purred haughtily.

“...I’m too damn exhausted, and you’re too damn comfortable for me to get up!” Yusuke snapped.

“You’ve got to trust me! I don’t tag along to sit on the sidelines!” Kuwabara’s shout boomed loud enough to shake the plaster from the ceiling.

Kurama nodded sagely at Kuwabara's words. “And that’s the heart of the matter. You and Hiei need to trust Kazuma more. He knows what he’s doing,” Kurama whispered, petting a hand up and down Yusuke’s arm.

“But he-” Yusuke tried to snarl, but Kurama continued to speak over him.

“He stepped in and defended Hiei today, and saved Hiei from getting cut in half. He used a portal to rescue Hiei. It saved his life, shifting him out of danger when he was overpowered. You can’t deny that Kazuma saved Hiei today!” Kurama shot Yusuke a look, and Yusuke met it head-on. Yusuke was angry, but he was listening.

“Kazuma knew what he was doing. His ingenuity in battle is second to none… he is good at coming up with ideas on the fly. He stepped into Hiei’s battle today and saved his life. Yes, it was risky. Kazuma was hurt, but he traded his hurt for Hiei’s life. Any of us would have done it. It’s unfair for us to get angry when he does something we would do.”

Yusuke’s pursed his lips, a storm brewing behind his eyes.

He eventually sighed and dropped his head back on Kurama’s arm.

“I don’t know if I could stand losing him,” Yusuke muttered.

Kurama gently squeezed Yusuke to him, making them both wince as they jostled their wounds. But still, Kurama did not let go.

“We couldn’t stand losing each other. Not any of us,” Kurama soothed, “A fact that I think hit Hiei full-on in the face when Kazuma went down saving him. But Kazuma is alright, hale enough to heal and get stronger. And thanks to him, Hiei is in one piece. Don’t be angry at Kazuma for something we all would have done in his situation… just be thankful he made it through.”

Yusuke nodded snuggling closer to Kurama as they lapsed into silence. Yusuke didn’t like it, but Kurama had a point. It wasn’t right to judge Kuwabara for his risky behavior when they all did it.

“...It just feels… like I could lose him at any moment,” Yusuke muttered.

Kurama squeezed him, and with sympathy proclaimed, “That is the weight of being a demon, while he is a human. The older we get, the more we feel that weight. Yusuke… I feel that weight too every time I look at my human family. It’s a hard one to bear. Talk to Kazuma about it… you’ll feel better.”

“You telling me to do something you’ve done too, or is this one of those, “Do as I say, not as I do moments?” " Yusuke quipped, shifting so that Kurama could see him arch a brow.

Kurama grinned, “We’re talking about you and your feelings right now. Don’t drag what I need to do into it-”

There was a crash from the next room over, and the sound of something breaking.

The pair tensed, and then after a beat of silence, sighed and sank back into the couch.

“They huggin’ or scrappin’?” Yusuke asked eventually.

“I’m sure they’re fighting, but one of them will eventually break and instigate a hug,” Kurama tittered, smiling to himself.

“Those two gotta start being more open to hugging it out!” Yusuke huffed as he encircled his arms around Kurama’s waist, and shifted to snuggle into Kurama for a closer cuddle.

Kurama stroked a hand down the back of Yusuke’s head, and chuckled, “Oh yes, if only those two could admit how much they care about each other, and hug it out. It'd save us all a lot of time.”

“...or fuck or something,” Yusuke snorted.

Kurama laughed loud, his laughter shaking Yusuke from the force of it. “Oh, so you noticed the sexual tension too?”

“I need to remember to bring some damn popcorn! Those two are better than a movie!”

Oh hell...Man this is tricky. My thoughts...

Makoto with Kurama (Shuichi Minamino) -It wouldn't be just for the plants, though I think those would be an added plus, but I think both suffer from similar thoughts. Kurama seems to be a bit guilty about taking on the life of a child who's body he's inhabiting, and probably sees Makoto struggling with the loss of her parents. Both can be very deadly when they want to but both also want the most normal life out of the group they are with. I think they'd get along due in part to their compassion and loyalty and don't get them mad attitude helps a lot. If anything I think Kurama would find it amusing to flirt with Makoto, only to find himself blushing at how sweet she could be and caring. It would put the boy in a tail spin as it were. Ami with Hiei for me -I know it's a weird ass combo, but I can see it working out more than people think. Hiei for all his cool stand-offish-ness is a kind brother who loves his sister. He's also someone that is very smart and understanding to his team mates, even if he acts like he's not. Ami, for her part is someone who can honestly keep up with his coolness, but also bring out the kinder side of him. Beware the quiet ones, as she can be as deadly as he can, and he probably would be inspired by her smarts and bravery. Also I think they would get along with both of them wanting to know about things, and just hanging out. He strikes me as the sort who would happily just sit there while she was doing homework and chill just watching her and wanting to cheer her on in his own way. And she'd probably be one of the few to get under his thick skin and get him to blush and react to things. Minako and Yusuke -Okay hear me out on this one. Both of them have a serious nature under the clown persona they built. Yusuke is a wanna be tough guy who tends to come off as a jerk with a heart of gold. But given how he died in the first place, its showing there a lot of compassion in there. He pushes himself to the limit for his friends and is willing to do whatever he has to to protect them in the Dark Tournament. Dude doesn't back down, and he's no idiot, though he acts like one and stubborn at that. Minako can come off as boy crazy and a ditz at times, but she's really not like that. Her dreams may seem huge but over all, as with Yusuke, her desire to be an idol is over all to bring love and happiness to everyone. And isn't that what food does too? Also she's as stubborn as he is, and willing to keep away from her friends to protect them. As with Yusuke she doesn't back down and pushes herself to the limit to fight for her princess and even steps up when Usagi is in a blue screen of death. There's a reason both of them are leaders to their respective groups. I honestly think that Yusuke would probably be the type that is like, "I'm not going to your concert" then show up in the front row with flowers or something for her. Minako would always cheer him on, and the boy can cook so she probably would love that aspect of him. Rei with Kuwabara -Now this one is really weird but I think it works. Kazuma is a loyal brother who cares deeply for his sister. While he comes off a a goof ball, he's also one of the strongest emotionally of the group. He won't go down, even if you bash him in and is someone who has a gentleness to himself. He's protective and someone that would admire Rei for her charms as well as her mind. He's also so opposite her father and more then likely would be someone that could see through the perfection that Rei has and notice the flaws that make her human. I also can see him making her laugh with how dumb he can be. On the other side let's be honest Rei would help him with his homework and also show him ways to encourage his spirit to make him way stronger. If anything the boy would be blushing all the time around her because he would see her as wonderful and help willingly at the shrine forgoing things just to be around her.
