My First Trainer Card

Found a copy of my first trainer card from before I joined Team Plasma in the hard drive tower. Wottie, Searie, Pardie, and Bishie all helped me win 4 badges. They were my friends but I failed them. I grew more and more distant to them with each failure until I just couldn’t continue any longer. I was a callous ass of a teenager. Then Team Plasma recruited me. I was at rock bottom and then I started digging.

Allowing them one of the only ones to enter their dreams. - Abnormally tall even for a beholder. - Doesn't seem to have the sinister nature that most beholder's have. Cyrus and Prince continue traveling while speaking with the guest. Cyrus remains focused on the road ahead, but every few moments you feel their eyes glance back towards you, and you feel judgment pass through you each time. You get the feeling that any wrong move could spark a reaction from Cyrus almost immediately.

On the other hand, Prince glances up at the guest, wearing his crown and usual bright smile.

Prince: "Hi, Howdy!"

"My thoughts on Mx. Cyrus? Well, they're my guardian! I know I don't really face as much danger as my siblings and cousins, but... a lot of that comes down to them and Miss Maria being so good at what they do."

Prince: "I've been around Mx. Cyrus a lot more lately than I used to, but I think it's been a good thing. They used to go out on missions a lot... Now we get to spend more time together. We're even gonna try and play a game later!"

Prince chuckles and turns back a little to face Cyrus, who jumps ever so slightly at being addressed so suddenly.

"You promised, right?! So that means we HAVE to play a game! We'll probably stop to eat, which would be great timing. Maybe others like you can join us!"

Prince beams again in inviting the guest, but a glimse at Cyrus shows a concerned expression. They don't seem too keen on the idea.

Pokémon headcanons: Umbreon Edition

Wild Umbreon are nocturnal, preferring to hunt by night and sleep during the day. However, trained Umbreon are more crepuscular— active in the mornings and evenings. It is thought they adapted their sleep schedule to somewhat match their Trainers’ sleep patterns.

The bright yellow rings on Umbreon’s fur (blue if it’s a shiny) are warning signals. This Pokémon can spray poison from glands behind its eyes, and can aim with great accuracy. It only uses this as a defense against predators, though.

Its main diet consists mainly of small rodent and reptile Pokemon, which it stalks and pounces like a cat. Umbreon will also eat berries, carrion, and anything else it can find.

They are mostly solitary, but are very affectionate. In the wild, they will pair-bond with other Pokémon while they are still Eevees. This pair-bonding is thought to how Umbreon evolve in the wild. (This phenomenon has also been observed with Espeon, a close relative of Umbreon.)

In addition to serving as warning signs, the rings on Umbreon’s fur are an effective communication system. Umbreon use a combination of flash patterns, vocalizations, and body language to “talk” to one another.

They’re one of the most recommended service Pokémon, due to their loyalty and their intelligence. They are most often used as seeing-eye Pokémon, due to their keen eyesight.

Umbreon have an excellent sense of direction. In addition to being able to sense the earth’s magnetic field, they can also sense the position of the moon and stars even on a cloudy night.

Most Eevee evolutions have “nests” that they sleep in, but Umbreon doesn’t. By night, it hunts and patrols its territory. During the day, it isn’t picky about where it sleeps as long as the place is well-hidden. In the wild, Umbreon usually sleep in tree hollows, caves, or under shrubs. Domesticated Umbreon will sleep pretty much anywhere: on a shelf, under the bed, in a pile of blankets, you name it.

Umbreon are most common in dense forests, but can be found in any land habitat. In open areas, they prefer to nest in burrows abandoned by other Pokémon.

Not everyone knows, no! During Sherlock's reveal I previously imagined the sequence as(/similar scenario) the Desperate Revival where he transforms into another pokemon, like Umbreon, to assist the children in the dark cave. The detective boys (not Haibara) know and try and tell their other acquaintances (Ran, Kogoro, Haibara), but no one seems to believe them as Sherlock has been living with them so long now, so surely he'd have to let his guard down and reveal himself? (Sherlock hasn't, and has the majority fooled and is very pleased with himself).

I'm sure Conan is pleased with this as Sherlock would be like a secret weapon to use against KID, and his transformations would be helpful when assisting/staging Haibara's interactions with the BO, though I feel like with Conan's luck and zorua's shy nature they'd fuck it up LMAO

Burgh asked me to deliver a painting for him to Doctor Fennel. Doctor Fennel, one of the two professionals who does research and experiments involving the Dream World.

The Dream World which @keen-umbreon has told me stories about. Stories that horrify me (he isn't meaning to be horrifying I just have a low tolerance for "Yeah Enigma took a nap and brought back snacks from inside of it!" And "Inside the Dream World, you can find Pokemon and bring them here! It's like the collective subconscious is friendly!"). The Dream World that is intimately linked to the Entreelink.

The Entreelink that is the unstable-stable center of Unovas own universe and time related oddities, like how the Black City and the White Forest are both there and not depending, and Opelucid is both retro and future themed but never at the same time depending.

Professor Burnet also scares me, but Doctor Fennel did it first and is in Unova.

She dares trod the land of dreams, realm of both the Lady of the Full Moon -the Lady of Solace- and the Lord of the New Moon -the Lord of Terror. And she brings things BACK! Items! Pokemon! Ideas! I am in awe of her. Brilliant madness. Genuinely brilliant, the Dream World researchers, and also genuinely horrifying.

If one were to delve into my own dreams, it would bring back only nightmares of dark water and slow movement. Or nightmares of all of my families rules coming down on my head.

I am fairly certain that Burgh is laughing in his morning cup of coffee right now. I hope my oran berry galettes somehow give you heartburn! I asked you to help me get over my fears, not - oh. I guess I could uh learn how dreams work and maybe get tips on how to deal with my nightmares while I'm there.

Ranking Eeveelutions from best to worst

Are we including Eevee or just the evolutions? I might have done this before actually so we'll see if the list changed lol. Keep in mind that all Eevees are good Eevees these are just the ones I like the most.

Umbreon, best boy/girl, has the coolest shiny. I love me a tanky 'mon. Dark is also my favorite pokemon type (ghost is second but sadly we don't have ghost Eevees)

Espeon, what an elegant little kitty cat. I like the cheek puffs.

Vaporeon cuz it's my OG Eeveelution that I would always go with.

Leafeon cuz I like the cut of its jib. I just think its super cute idk.

Flareon because floooooooooooooooooooooof

Glaceon. It would be higher but it's little ice pigtails kind of make me question why they gave a cat hair

Sylveon. I just don't care that much for fairy types. I wish they leaned more into the horror aspect of the flesh ribbons and flesh bows lol. Pre X and Y's release and the reveal of fairy type I actually thought Sylveon was gonna be a ghost type so that was a little disappointing. I'm also disappointed that they don't appear keen to make any more Eevees after this one, since we've gone like three generations without a new one since.

Jolton. It just doesn't seem fun to hug.

And bonus round since there's 8 Eevees and 8 Blue Lions my last playthrough of Sword and Shield I had a full team of Eevees and I matched them up with a BL character so:

If you could rewrite/improve Chloe's character development, what would you do?

Oh boy...

First of all, I'd have her take Wanpachi as her secondary partner, gifted by his father since Wanpachi LOVES her a ton. That way she could learn a thing or two from two Pokemon perspectives. And Galar would get more obvious promo through best doggo.

Second, I'd have her learn about Umbreon through Shigeru. He's the very original Eevee trainer among main cast, so him telling Koharu about how he and his Eevee came to be and how his Eevee became Umbreon would have been, *chef's kiss*.

Third, have her actually become main cast. Mid season cast additions are a stable in other shows I watch (Precure and Digimon), often elevating the interest in the show to a new level. It would have been interesting and good for Koharu's character to actually see how Gou and Satoshi go doing PWC and PM and learn a thing or two from those missions. If Satoshi can join in on PM, so can Koharu.

Fourth, give her more episodes other than eeveelution centric ones. She pretty much fell to the trap of "exists for eeveelution promo only", and that makes me so frustrated as she had such a good start. Then series director changed lol. I don't know how much influence in her storyline it had truthfully but me getting bored with her storyline mostly kinda started after series director got changed... weird coincidence huh.

Fifth... hm. I don't think I have a clear fifth. Well, that depends on what she ends up doing I guess. Basically, if she ends up doing the most obvious and boring route (aka another fricking coordinator): have her become a researcher of her own field. I kinda like the idea of her wanting to discover new eeveelutions, so maybe that! She's shown to have skills in leadership and observations and keen interest in fossils (which seemingly disappeared after series director changed?????) so like, actually utilize those in end goal.

So I guess I'd do those changes in her character arc? Basically these ideas would be fitted into if the series didn't suffer from forced hiatuses so often. It's possible they decided to cut content from her. Who knows. I just know these are what I hoped to see from her.

Toxic Orb, Choice Band. Guts, Facade. Double Edge. The moves, abilities, items, etc that work better with status conditions, or inflict damage on the user in exchange for more power. What's the ethics behind that? As a former Plasma (King N or bust. Calling Ghetsis garbage is an insult to Garbodor.) it just reminds me of the propaganda we were fed.

Yes, with an 81 on the Pokémon writing scale.

Is this Pokémon physically capable of writing?

Yes, but not well. Umbreon can hold a pen in its mouth and type with its paws. It also, like Espeon, learns Psychic and can use the move to hold a pen. However, it does not learn Psychic naturally and it cannot use Psychic as well as Espeon or other Pokémon. It would have some difficulty but it could learn with practice.

Yes. Umbreon evolves by friendship. It spent its life as both an Eevee and Umbreon close to a trainer who cared for it. That trainer would show it books at some point.

Yes. Umbreon, due to its bond to humans and sharp mind, would learn to read just from living around humans. Depending on its relationship with its trainer, it may be taught to read as well.

Yes. Living with a trainer or as a household pet, it would have access to paper and computers. Its humans would notice and give it a hand. If its humans were not inclined to help, it would still be able to gain what it needs with some difficulty but ultimately it would get there.

Yes. Umbreon has lived its whole life around humans. As a pet, it would have access to a child’s education. With a trainer, it would be exposed to a lot it can learn from its travels.

Yes. Umbreon is a keen Pokémon and an observant one. Its battle skills also rely more on strategy than power, which means Umbreon’s mind is geared toward the patterns and complexities found in longer novels. It understands the logic behind writing but it may have a harder time with the more creative aspects.

Does this Pokémon have anything to write about?

Not really. Umbreon isn’t the adventurous type. It’s traveled quite a bit but it always remains focused on its human so it wouldn’t get much inspiration from what it’s seen. It is a thoughtful Pokémon though so it wouldn’t be unable to come up with ideas but they wouldn’t come as easily as other Pokémon. There are many stories about Umbreon and Espeon though, as well as Umbreon’s connection to the moon. It may want to explore those tales through writing.

Yes. Umbreon would have some trouble printing or binding a book with its paws but using Psychic may give it some help. Its trainer or owner would also notice if it was trying to make a book and give it some help.

No. Umbreon is content with its life, whether it be a battler or a pet. It may take interest in writing as a distraction or to make a gift but it would be a one time thing. Umbreon would commit to the project though.

Umbreon is good at staying focused. It wouldn’t be easily distracted. As a nocturnal Pokémon, it would be able to work during the quieter hours so it would be very productive.

how would you personally decide when it is time to take your pokemon for treatment for any issue, physical or mental? like what is your personal line of "ok, i need a professional and cant handle this myself"?? ~keen-umbreon

like go to the pokemon center? that shit's free, i take my birds like once or twice a week if they've been battling. no reason not to go.

i take pretty good care of my team though so beyond that i don't really go to any professionals with them. i know what i'm doing and there are lots of other experienced bird keepers who i can talk to for advice.

i guess if i needed an answer and no one could help me i'd seek out a vet. or if i needed like some kind of prescription for them that i couldn't get elsewhere. that doesn't happen often though.

Magic School Bus kids + Eeveelutions

Arnold: Glaceon (male). There aren’t any rock-type Eeveelutions, but Glaceon does have crystal-like markings. Arnold probably names him after a blue or aquamarine mineral.

Ralphie: Jolteon (female). Very temperamental. Has guest-starred in several of Ralphie’s short films. (In the chapter books, Ralphie does photography as a hobby, so I’m incorporating that into this headcanon.) Loves playing fetch.

Keesha: Espeon (male). Very keen of sight and sharp of mind— just like his Trainer.

Phoebe: Leafeon. A perfect fit for the class’s nature lover. Often curls up on Phoebe’s lap when she’s doing homework, or accompanies her on hikes. A cinnamon roll through and through.

Carlos: Umbreon (male). Very playful, especially at night. Likes to be scratched behind the ears and on the stomach. Sees battling as a way to play and let off steam.

Tim: Vaporeon (female). Probably the most gentle of the class’s Eeveelutions, but he’s still not to be messed with. Enjoys “helping” Tim with his art (Translation: just sitting there while Tim does all the drawing). Would rather sleep than engage in a battle.

Wanda: Flareon (male). Here, Trainer and Pokémon are a perfect match in personality. Both adventurous and feisty. Both forces to be reckoned with. However, Flareon is scared of loud noises like thunderstorms and vacuum cleaners.

Dorothy Ann: Sylveon (female). Very neat and organized. Enjoys stargazing out on D.A.‘s balcony. But don’t let Sylveon’s pretty looks fool you: she’s a tough opponent in a Pokémon battle.

Also worth noting: D.A.’s Sylveon and Carlos’s Umbreon get along really well. Sometimes they even get along better than their Trainers do!
