summary: just some sfw hcs off the top of my head for kitana x gender neutral reader (which takes place during the new timeline) and reader being down bad for kitana (and i guess this is pretty long, idk i just wanted to feed the kitana fans. get it? fans? LMAO)

a/n: i’m doing great thanks for asking anon!! also, i understand you, i am a havik fan and i don’t get much content for my boy. in case you want more, i’ll happily write more kitana content !! :)

- let’s say this takes place during the new timeline, and you are one of earthrealm’s champions. you stepped into sun do, not expecting any excitement, until you and kitana locked eyes for the first time.

- it was almost cheesy, how quickly you fell in love.

- even when raiden had to fight li mei and reiko, you weren’t even paying attention to the fight. you just couldn’t help but look at kitana the entire time. she just looked so regal and beautiful on her throne.

- you even noticed she snuck a few peeks at you too, and always gave a small smile and giggled when she caught you.

- during the banquet afterwards, you immediately sat beside her and attempted to talk to her.

- key word: attempted. kitana was just so gorgeous and you felt as if you weren’t even worthy of being around her. because of that, you stammered a bit when you spoke.

- she didn’t mind though. she found you adorable, and never interrupted when you were struggling to speak. she even asked you a couple questions about yourself, having an interest in your skills and your hometown in earthrealm.

- you even went to sleep that night thinking of her, hoping you wouldn’t act like an infatuated fool the next time you spoke.

- what you didn’t know was that kitana would replace mileena to fight raiden the next day. you admired her strength and enjoyed watching the fight, even though she lost.

- “you fought very well, princess. it was very admirable.” you told her.

- “oh? i didn’t know my skills would pique your interest.” kitana replied.

- “you just fought so well and you looked great doing it, i couldn’t even take my eyes off of you during the fight. i mean, not in a creepy way, i swear…” you rambled.

- kitana smiled in response, surprisingly not creeped out by you. instead, her feelings for you grew larger.

- “well, i thank you for the compliment. you don’t look too bad yourself.” she winked, and walked away. her words repeated in your head over and over for the rest of your day. maybe you weren’t being delusional and she *did* have some interest in you..

- you fought side by side against shang tsung the next few days, and you just couldn’t help but fawn over her every time she fought. over the days that went by, you became closer and more comfortable with each other, but your feelings never shrunk. even though you were fighting for your lives.

- “if you don’t tell kitana how you feel, i will.” mileena teased, as you were taking a walk outside the palace. after defeating shang tsung and sindel passing away, mileena had inherited the throne and found it slightly exhausting, so you offered to walk around the palace with her.

- “what? what do you mean by that? what feelings?” you nervously laughed.

- mileena scoffed. “i can clearly see something going on between you two. it’s almost annoying how neither of you have said anything. but knowing my sister, i can imagine she has a lot on her plate right now. you should be the one who confesses. if not, i’ll have to do it myself.”

- so you confessed that night, and kitana fully reciprocated your feelings.

now onto the actual relationship hcs:

- kitana is the supreme commander now, so anytime she has to leave, she gives you a hug and kiss in case she passes away in battle. you always fear losing her so you don’t really want her to fight, but you understand that she is capable and most likely won’t die in battle.

- every night you go to sleep holding each other, not wanting to let go. she knows someday one of you will draw your final breaths, so she wishes to enjoy every second she has with you.

- on the rare occasion she has a day off, she always wants to spend it with you and her sister. she doesn’t have a strong preference for what activity you all do, as long as she’s spending time with you.

- speaking of which, mileena completely supports your relationship. she makes sure to look out for you since she sees you as family now. anyone kitana likes, she approves. she even makes sure you two have some time alone every now and then.

- but unfortunately, you’ll occasionally walk around sun do and be ridiculed for being an earthrealmer. sometimes you hear whispers such as: “i can’t believe kitana’s consort is an earthrealmer!” “kitana couldn’t choose fellow royalty?”

- but anytime you express your discomfort with those words, she immediately shuts them down.

- “don’t listen to the whispers of people who don’t understand you. i have no issues with you not being royalty, i love you for who you are.” she comforted, engulfing you in a hug. she never wants you to think she doesn’t love you.

- but since you’re still an earthrealmer and you get homesick sometimes, you like to tell kitana stories about your hometown or the food and people you came across. she would always listen intently, usually with you resting your head on her lap and she would run her fingers through your hair.

- in fact, she’d listen to you ramble about anything. petty drama you had back at home? your favorite foods and books? she can listen to you talk about anything for hours. as long as she can enjoy your company, it doesn’t matter to her.

- kitana just.. really loves you. a lot. she cherishes every moment she has with you, comforts you anytime you’re sad, makes sure you’re taken care of while she is away, and accepts you for who you are. she couldn’t ask for anyone more amazing and understanding. of all timelines she exists in, she knows she wouldn’t trade her current one with you for anything.

To be honest, I didn’t know what you were talking about at first so I had to look it up. When I learned about the lyrics, I got what you were saying😳

I’d imagine Johnny inadvertently introduced the song while playing some music on shuffle with his phone. He was too engrossed with whatever task (most likely Hollywood-related) to care much for what was being played. Johnny does realize what’s being played when Medusa!Reader clears their throat to gain his attention. With her is Mileena, Kitana, Tanya, Li Mei, and Syzoth.

Mileena finds the song and lyrics to be ridiculous, grinning in amusement.

Tanya and Li Mei, I'd imagine would look at the song in a mixture of disgust and not being amused. Tanya was the first to ask Johnny to turn off that racket.

Syzoth is mostly confused by the context of the music,

Especially since it's considered music by Earthrealm standards.

anyways. to answer your question. sentimentally i'm very attached to Kitana and Scorpion in general, i played Kitana when mk9 came out (i was 7, my dad let me play mk when i was SEVEN) and my dad played Scorpion and i always got my ass handed to me. but he worked a lot and playing mk9 was the only time we really got together when i was a kid. with mk1, we've been able to play a lot more together and it reminds me of those times, it's really fun. now i win about half the matches we play, but i just don't play Kitana anymore. i really do prefer Kenshi.

I am actually married to Johnny Cage and Kenshi, soooo Also, to be honest, the first characters to draw me into Mk1 were Smoke & Sub-Zero. Hadn't really been a big Sub-Zero fan beforehand, not of Bi-Han or Kuai Liang. So it was fun having that revelation. And Tomas is just super cute, I actually love that he's Czech. • we see how flustered he gets when he's called out by kitana. he's a grown man with dick and balls but he's also flustered very easily! he'll be decently vocal about his affection for you, but then word trickles down to your ear, at which point it's so over for him.

• walks into walls when he's so entranced by you training. like face first into a wall, his hat fluttering to the ground. kung lao loses it.

• he can't even hear what you're saying when you speak to him, it sounds like an angel muffled by the clouds of heaven. raiden's also not the greatest with his powers granted by the amulet. if you go in to touch his arm playfully, a jolt of electricity pricks your palm and you yelp. raiden can only sputter apologies as he bows down, his cheeks tinted.

• he's the type to do little favors for you, ones you barely notice. your spot at the table is tidied, the training dummy is prepped for your fighting style, or he's the first one to bring you something if you forget it. that, and tiny favors to butter you up to him.

• "reader, you said you were nauseous last training. i prepared you some tea," he'd slide the small cup over to you, fighting a goofy smile. he rehearsed his script a few times, so he sounded more static than intended.

• will ask you questions about training or the weather just to hear your voice. he couldn't even recall what you were saying, he just loved the way your lips moved.

• kung lao pokes at him for this often, nudging him or making comments about you being his partner when you're not. raiden will stomp on his foot to keep him from talking about his infatuation if you're around. as if you don't already know.

• out of respect for his dignity, you hold your tongue at his obvious affection. syzoth tries to keep it under wraps but he can't help it when you're just so cute!

• he'll stand close by you, inching closer and closer until you notice. he'll slip you little trinkets and flora with a small smile. anything from a rock that matches the shades of your eye, to a flower he picked by the gardens, to a stick. a nice stick, to be fair! you wonder if this is zaterran courtship.

• "it reminded me of you," he'd lean into your ear. your bedside table is decorated with various... outside decor.

• kitana knew she couldn't get entangled with the umgadi after seeing how risky mileena is with tanya, but my god were you breathtaking.

• you would often accompany her in the carriages as she waved to her people, eyes transfixed on her. you're devoted to her protection. it is your god-given duty. your eye contact was too much at times, and kitana would often catch herself staring at you, her hand suspended in the air. she'd forget to wave.

• "is everything alright, my princess?" you would ask innocently, in a low tone to avoid raising suspicion. kitana's mind short circuits when you call her... yours. even if you're referring to the umgadi's worship. she shakes her head and clears her throat, pulling her mask up higher to conceal her blush.

• if she were to give speeches on her mother's behalf or otherwise, she'd find herself forgetting what the rehearsed, or hell, struggling to rehearse. you were the one she'd come to for help with speeches, yet you made things ten times harder when you'd lean in to listen to her better. it makes her mind absolutely numb.

• "and you tell me to steer away from the umgadi," mileena would rasp into her ear as the sister sat on their thrones, you positioned by her side and eyes forward. "it seems you picked a favorite, sister."

• "i'm not the only guilty one," she'd hiss back to her sister, nodding at tanya. "it won't get in the way of duties, as long as mother doesn't know."

• you'd fight to netherrealm and back for your princess. as you fight off intruders or threats, kitana forgets to escape, instead transfixed on the way your muscles would contract and flex with each blow.

• she wants to be the one to care for your wounds. the power imbalance means nothing to her, you're her equal.

When you appeared in her line of vision, she was immediately heartbroken. She couldn't believe her late partner came back like this after so many years

You died sacrificing yourself for her to live in this timeline. you worked for the royal family for all these years, just to have to take an arrow to the chest due to an assassination attempt

Your skin now had cracks all over it and your eyes glowed red, standing by dark shang tsung's side with a mocking smirk behind your mask. Kitana could barely recognize you and you were only intrigued that she wasn't dead in this timeline

Kitana looked at you with tears in her eyes. The same person who took an arrow so she could live on. She had already taken out clones that looked like her, hell even ones that looked like her own sister and mother. Second pain to that was seeing you approach her with mischievous and evil intent.

"You...gave your life for me...and now you live on as an evil pawn for a man like Shang Tsung?"

"I did? What an idiot. In my timeline, I'm the one who assassinated you, and I still have no remorse."

Kenshi Takahashi

Post losing his eyesight, he could only ever think about how he lost you. How he wasn't quick enough in getting you out of being involved with the Yakuza. How he was one step behind

You died a brutal death simply because you were his partner, and they couldn't risk leaving you alive to tell the story of them torturing you for information, so they took care of it themselves to send a message. And boy, did it send a message

So now, in dark Shang Tsung's timeline, you are resentful of him and want your revenge. However, it was very conflicting for Kenshi: Did he take this version of you out now because he knows you don't actually feel like this? Or...die by your clone's hands to be reunited with the love of his life?

Kenshi stood before you with Sento in hand, but frozen in place. The sound of your voice, the complete change in your demeanor, and even down to how you used to walk (he always knew when you were coming because of the way your footsteps sounded), he was utterly devastated. He only had himself to blame for this moment in time.

"I'm...I'm sorry I wasn't there for you. It's all my fault."

"No need to apologize, past love, I took you out in my timeline, now I've come to finish the job in yours."

Mileena

You died in Mileena's arms. How? Well, you were a little too late in grabbing the serum that calms her down and she went crazy on the closest person to her, literally

Upon barely clinging onto dear life you were able to inject her, but you had lost too much blood. So by the time she came to you were gone. She hadn't cried and wailed this much since her father

Now, as she pointed her Sai at your neck, she didn't know what to do. Even if she turned right now, she couldn't handle killing you in the same exact way two times in a row. Even if evil you was trying to kill her

Mileena breathed heavily as she could feel herself turning, desperately trying to stop herself from mauling you to death. But the way you taunted her made half of her want to turn even quicker, knowing full well this is the dark version of you spewing nonsense to piss her off.

"Come on, Empress, turn. Rip my face off like you did before."

"I don't want to...but if my hand is forced, so be it!"

Scorpion

You guessed it. The classic partner and son loss. You fought tirelessly to defend your home and the Shirai Ryu, but it just wasn't enough. Kuai was also just one step too late

Once he got to you, there lied your lifeless body clutching your son in your arms with a sword through your back. If he just hadn't gone on that mission that day when you said you were worried of being attacked...

Now, the dark version of you relished in the pain and sorrow in his eyes. In your timeline, he was the one that died and you trained your son to be a killing machine

Scorpion's head hung low upon hearing what you've done in your timeline. All this time he promised if he could just see you again, he would apologize profusely and even give his own life for you to come back. But looking at you now, seeing you again with an evil smile and empty eyes you've never worn before made him want to take it all back.

"Want to know something funny? You were the one that died in front of me, and I got our son to do it."

"Training Satoshi to be a killing machine is a sin that not even hellfire can take care of."

Li Mei

You died while on a mission in Li Mei's place to find and gather information that would be of use to the royal house and their next moves on taking down a clan that was after it

Li Mei hasn't properly recovered since. Even to the point where she'll go on solo missions just to avoid anybody else getting hurt. She took extra shifts and extended her personal training time just to keep her mind, but at the end of the day she still crumbled

Now the evil version of you isn't even in the Sun Do. In fact, you actively try to take them down every chance you get just to get to the Li Mei in your timeline--which worked

Li Mei took a fighting stance as soon as you showed up. A piece of her heart broke at the thought of intentionally having to hurt you, but she knew you were long gone now with no shot of saving grace. You dangled your weapon in front of her and showed not one sign of fear.

"You were an esteemed member of the Sun Do, and now you are proudly a disgrace."

"I'll do it again one thousand times over and you can't stop me."

Shang Tsung

Surprisingly, he didn't betray you or kill you himself. You captured the sorcerer's heart, and that was the problem. His followers didn't like how much attention you got, so they formed an organization and took you out when they followed you on a mission

Since then he was on a rampage. He wreaked as much havoc as he could, convinced it was some outside source that held something against him. He only got stronger with anger and deep rooted sadness he couldn't process

Now you blamed him for letting you die when he could've prevented it. Hell, sometimes you felt like it was his idea and his way of getting rid of you as if you were a hindrance to his plans

Shang Tsung couldn't believe his eyes. You, who started walking towards him after you linked arms with his own dark clone. Every emotion he had ever felt bubbled to the surface the second he saw your face. Hurt, anger, sorrow, but mostly confusion. However, knowing the kind of man Shang Tsung was, he wouldn't think twice to rid of your evil clone for good.

"Whoever took you from me will pay, but I will kill you myself before I die by your tainted hands."

"Aw, how the evil sorcerer calls the dark soul 'tainted'"

Fujin, shocked, grabs you and pulls her back as the bruised girl lay on the floor.

In your fit of rage, you slap Fujin, and his heart breaks. He watches as you stomp away furiously, regretting his decisions.

Kung Lao

Kung Lao dated you because he truly loved you. He was attracted to your gentle personality and how you can handle his prideful behavior.

…So, you could only assume the look on his face when he saw you lash out on the girl he cheated on you with.

Kung Lao is bedazzled at this new version of you.

He quickly pulls you off and you start to get even more furious. Kung Lao has NEVER seen you this mad before.

You push him off and you quickly walk away, leaving Kung Lao in shock.

Liu Kang

Like Kung Lao and Fujin, Liu Kang also likes your gentleness and peacefulness.

You stood with him, even as he become ‘Lord Liu Kang.’ aka. ‘God of Fire.’

So, when he choose Kitana over you, you became.. extremely angry.

Kitana, peacefully sipping tea, yells in shock and pain, as you forcefully grab her hair and throw her to the ground. You start beating her with force, yelling profanity at her.

Liu Kang, who had heard Kitana’s screams, rushed over towards y’all and he grabs you and pushes you off, telling you to calm down.

You turned around and slapped him, repeating his words in a furious manner. With a hurt and angry look on your face, you sped-walked away, not looking back.

Nightwolf

Same deal for Nightwolf; He was attracted to your gentle demeanor and started to date you.

You, however, felt Nightwolf has been a bit distance lately so you decided to visit him.

.. Do you know how FURIOUS you were when you saw another girl kissing Nightwolf?

Without thinking, you punched the girl, causing her to fall on the floor and you get on top of her, continuing to punch her.

Nightwolf quickly grabs both your arms and pulls you back, shook by your newfound behavior.

Nightwolf tries to calm you down, but you don’t want to hear none of it and you walk away, angry with Nightwolf.

imagine that during the festival, which is happening during the trailer for "the banished", reader is wearing a set of clothes, just like her sisters, and syzoth is truly enchanted to see her. - and, if you want to turn this scenario into a continuation of "No Longer Alone", feel free!

Usually for fic requests, I wait to post these with the fics that were requested so the anon readers know it's their fic. But I have a few ways I want to go with this and I want to hear your opinions.

Ok... Ahem...

So I'm thinking either a separate fic where Syzoth and the reader run into each other before the fight begins. Maybe she's lonely and decides to wander off, and he thinks no one is where she is and scurries in that direction in an attempt to stay hidden before the attack.

Another separate fic where the reader attempts so confront him (despite both of her sisters warning her to let them handle it.) but he it doesn't break into a fight because he ended up falling for her and doesn't have the heart to fight her.

Or a prologue to the No Longer Alone fic through Syzoth's POV, while he is sneaking along the rooftops, he sees the reader sitting alone and watches her for awhile.

What do you think of those ideas? Which do you think I should do? 🤭

Okay, I looked up the video and started laughing hard as I imagined how this scenario would happen. 🤣🤣🤣 Also keep in mind,I don't know Cardi B or Megan Stallion that well so be free to correct me.

I'm now imagining that, for whatever reason, Johnny Cage called in Mileena, Kitana, Li Mei, Tanya, Syzoth, and Medusa!Reader to Earthrealm for a shoot for a scene in his latest streaming series. Unfortunately, they happened to have been in the same studio as when Cardi B decided to do a remaster of her "WAP" music video. I can see Medusa!Reader and Syzoth accidentally took a wrong turn on which sound stage they should go to. As soon as they opened the door, they were greeted by the sight of two big-breasted women dressed in flowing white dresses, dressed like Greek goddesses with a large terrarium filled with exotic snakes behind them. Syzoth leaned towards you so you could better hear him over the music.

"Did we accidentally stumble upon a Warm-blood brothel?"

"Maybe they're shooting a movie too?"

You replied before a stagehand approached you and started to tug you by the sleeve, urging you to follow them since they thought you and Syzoth were part of the shoot. Yet, while you and Syzoth are trying to explain that you two aren't part of the "video", Li Mei and Tanya enter not too long after to look for you both. They barely paid the scantily clad woman and their strange siren song that Earthrealmers apparently call music, as they had a task to do.

Yet, as Cardi B and Megan Stallion wrapped up a scene for their video, they spotted Tanya and Li Mei before deciding to approach them. Edenian women are bombarded with compliments and questions about their style, who made their costumes, and if their designer could design something for them. Eventually, Empress Mileena and Kitana found all of you at the set for Cardi B's music video. Mileena finds herself very somewhat jealous when seeing Cardi B touching Tanya's hair while badgering her about her hair care routine. Kitana attempted to be respectful by not staring too long at celebrities or their backup dancers, who were similarly dressed in odd and revealing clothing.

Johnny ended up having to herd you back to the actual sound stage you were supposed to be filming at, which is fortunate since Mileena looked about ready to bite off Cardi B's face. Tanya assured her Empress that there's nothing to be jealous of and other loving affirmations.

You and Syzoth are left baffled by Earthrealm music and its obsession with sex and butts. You also kept a dress that a stagehand gave you, that shows more cleavage than you're used to but are saving for a later special occasion... 😏😏😏

Smoke was chosen by Lord Liu Kang to be one of his champions for the next Mortal Kombat tournament orchestrated by Empress Mileena. Smoke was very nervous to say the least. Not only has he trained for this moment ever since learning about the tournament. He will have many of outworld's eyes on him. But with some encouragement from Liu kang and Kuai Liang, He stood proud to outworld.

"Empress Mileena" He bowed to her.

"Welcome to outworld Smoke, It is of the highest of honours to introduce you to my kingdom." She bowed in respect. "Outworld is grateful for your help in defeating Shang Tsung and Quan-Chi."

"I would do whatever it takes to help protect the realms Empress."

Mileena smiled at him. "I am sure you remember my sister Kitana ??" Kitana bowed to him as he bowed back. But there was someone he didn't meet. You.

"This little one is our young sister y/n" You softly smiled as you bowed to him. Smoke bowed back but your smile replayed in his mind, It was the most beautiful smile he has ever seen.

"It is with greatest of honors to meet you smoke" Your voice was angelic.

"As.. As it is with you too princess" He stuttered, Mentally face-palming.

"Then let us begin the tournament !!" Mileena shouted as Outworld cheered.

Smoke was sitting in the cart on the way to the palace, It so happens to be the same cart that you were in as well. Smoke lightly blushed seeing your face. Thank the elder gods for his mask covering it.

"How long have you been apart of the shirai ryu ??" You asked him as he looked down shyly trying to come up with the answer.

"My brother and I started our clan last month"

"That's very exciting smoke" Your smile showing again, this time his blush deepening for you to slightly see.

"Are you ok smoke ??"

"It's just warm... that's all"

It was slightly hot outside so that could be it, you continued to get to know Smoke, How he grew up. What Kuai Liang was like, It was an enjoyable conversation.

The tournament began and Smoke faced his first enemy, He was eager to impress the citizens of outworld. But he was most eager to impress you.

You watched him as he fought long and hard, It was a very impressive sight indeed. Then came the true test. Fighting empress Mileena herself.

You hoped that Smoke would be able to not get hurt to bad.

"You can do it smoke !!" You shouted to him.

He looked out and nodded at you, With this sense of encouragement, He fought Mileena with all his might and came out victorious. Earthrealm is declared the victor in this tournament.

Smoke was so happy to represent Earthrealm in the best way possible.

"Tonight we feast and celebrate the victory of Earthrealm" MIleena declared.

The night arrived and Smoke was grateful for the feast that Outworld has put on for Earthrealm, As he plated his food, He saw you. Sitting by yourself.

"May I join you ??" He asked politely.

"Of course" You smiled as he took his seat. "You did amazing out there today."

"Thank you Princess, I was grateful for the fight with the Empress"

"I knew I could believe in you"

Out of nowhere, you then kissed his cheek gently.

Smoke was lost for words, He was a blushing mess and started to smile stupidly. He was in love with you. He was fully in love with you no doubt about it.

And Eric got into her face n insulting her. Reader then proves that she can bring her knives/fans into a gun fight and still win by fighting the entire group of trainees and shooting her to the top spot.

Here is part one

Word count: 1,147

Weeks had passed since you and Eric had opened up to each other, allowing a sense of vulnerability to seep into your relationship. Your walls, though still standing strong, had become more porous and flexible, allowing glimpses of your true selves to shine through.

Tris, a fellow initiate in Dauntless, had noticed the change in your interactions with Eric. Intrigued, her curiosity got the better of her as she approached you during a break from training.

"Hey," Tris called out, catching your attention. "Can I talk to you for a bit?"

You glanced over at Eric, who nodded in reassurance, before turning your attention back to Tris. "Sure, what's on your mind?"

Tris hesitated for a moment before asking, "I've been noticing the way you and Eric have been acting around each other lately. It's different from how you usually are with others. Can I ask what's going on?"

You smiled, appreciative of Tris's curiosity. "Eric and I have a complicated relationship, to say the least. We've known each other for a long time, and there's always been this unspoken tension between us. Recently, we decided to address it and let each other in a little more."

Tris furrowed her brows, clearly intrigued. "So, are you guys, like, dating or something?"

You chuckled, shaking your head. "No, not exactly. We're taking things slow and figuring it out as we go. But there's definitely something there, something I haven't quite felt before."

Tris nodded, her eyes filled with understanding. "I get it. Love isn't always black and white." She paused for a moment before adding, "I'm glad you found someone who can break down your walls, even just a little."

You smiled warmly at her, grateful for her acceptance. "Thank you, Tris. And who knows? Maybe you'll find someone who can do the same for you."

Tris blushed, her gaze turning downward. "Maybe someday," she muttered shyly.

As the two of you continued to deepen your friendship, Tris began to notice the way you and Eric worked together during training sessions. Your skills with knives fascinated her, and she couldn't help but be drawn to the fluidity and precision of your movements.

Tris watched, wide-eyed, as you carved a path to victory, the trainees' surprise turning to awe and respect. By the end of the exercise, you stood at the top spot, panting but triumphant.

You chuckled, a hint of pride in your voice. "Thanks, Tris. It's all about finding your strengths and using them to your advantage. Just because something isn't conventional doesn't mean it's any less effective."

Tris nodded, her gaze filled with newfound determination. "I'll remember that."
