Leaks of incoming KNY Hashira Training Arc I've seen on YouTube:
1) Filler episode, where Sanemi and Obanai get a glimpse of the infinity castle (supposedly Muzan retrieving more demons into the castle and they manage to see how it happened)
2) Wind and Serpent Breathing (very nice, I can see how Wind breathing is so violent in its movement with the way Sanemi swings his sword)
3) Giyuu gets all 'i am not like you' and tries to leave the meeting, Sanemi gets mad, Mitsuri tries to stop them and Gyomei has enough of these children squabbling lol
4) Shinobu and Obanai crumble, albeit just them being taken back by Gyomei's clap 🤣
5) THE OPENING IS SO GOOD?? 💕💕 AGHHH I AM EXCITED THEY ALL LOOK SO SO PRETTY AND BREATH TAKING AHHH
6) Love love the way everyone facing where Tanjiro is facing in the opening, and will definitely spoil everyone on who died in infinity castle arc by making those characters facing another way
7) Muichiro my son looking cute when he gets flabbergasted by Gyomei's way of hushing the squabble XD
(edited)
8) OH I JUST NOTICED THE GLIMPSE OF GENYA MEETING SANEMI IN THE HALLWAY SCENE IN THE OPENING LET'S GO
9) Giyuu and Sanemi sparring, just waiting for Tanjirou to panicking thinking they're fighting for real XD
10) Muzan and Kagaya parallel

Shall we talk ☆Pillar Filler???☆
(As well as the rest of the episode?)
Keeping it behind a cut because it's not yet available for everybody and a lot of people will appreciate being surprised (I know I did)!
First, how about that new OP??
I love how it sets this arc up for being a pause in the constant life or death struggle (for the Pillars anyway, hahaha), and pricks at how the Pillars always feel they are struggling to compensate for their weaknesses, and the inky hatred that fills their hearts which Oyakata-sama knows they've channeled into defeating Kibutsuji Muzan at all costs. I also had a passing thought the other day about how so many Japanese legends of demon slaying require the hero to call upon a non-human higher power, or use something like a poison or alcohol to weaken a demon before they stand a chance of defeating it. In the end, the medicine that Tamayo and Shinobu develop does serve this crucial role (and the sun fulfills the role of a higher non-human power), but it's otherwise ironic that instead of temporarily weakening a demon to their own level, the usual course of action is to use Breath to temporarily increase their power to that of a demon.
Attaining a mark sure increases the role that "temporary" already played in their lives, and it's really no question that they would choose to pursue that option, even knowing the result.
(Also, CHUNTAROOOOO)
So anyway, onto that filler!!
I loved it.
First, the nitpicking just to get it out of the way: why did a demon need to bother tying up a victim???? Whhhhy? Like, at least they didn't pull a Speedy with some contrived "this demon just toys with victims and leaves them injured instead of killing them" routine that makes for a happy low-stakes Piller Filler episode while showing utter disregard for what demons are and why the Corp risks themselves to stop them. (That said, I always love seeing other Corp members fulfill their own Corp duties with no relation whatsoever to Tanjiro, who is just one piece of a much, much larger whole.)
But rather than write what would ultimately be stupid dialogue with an insignificant filler demon, it's nice that Ufotable did not bother developing the Castle Demon. The totally undeveloped baddies are easy to cast off as Blood Technique (but maybe they could have looked a little cooler if, like, they were vaguely wearing samurai armor or something instead of just being in skin suits? Whatever, not important.) I appreciate that Ufotable did not bother to answer these questions of "why is the victim tied up" because the point of this scene was very obviously not about her or the demon. (I like to think Iguro cut the ropes and then told her to get to safety but just, like, left her there on the top roof).
So as for what this scene WAS for... hot dang, did it accomplish that!!!
The purpose was to make Sanemi and Iguro look cool, and it sure as hell did that. WHAT GOOD CHANBARA, those show-offy sword-play moves against a mob of nameless villains were just so deliciously well choreographed, and the people who can appreciate that were also likely to really appreciate the use of a castle as a purely fun battle setting. Ufotable was probably like, "Our biggest fans are nerds for KnY's touches of traditional Japanese folklore and culture, and for swords and swordplay, so you know what else will probably get them riled up? Yeah, let's give them a castle fortress."
And then everyone cheered, like, "Yes, yes, the fangirls like demonslayedher on Tumblr will never know what hit them."
But then some brilliant person spoke up and said, "You guys, I have the perfect finishing blow."
And everyone said, "What? How could we possibly top this scene that not only purely makes Sanemi & Iguro look cool, but also serves their characters and the plot nicely by showing how the Pillers don't feel they can rely on the other Corp members, and that even though they speak sharply to them they show concern for them by their actions? You know, especially slyly since anime-only fans will get to appreciate a new side of characters whom they haven't gotten to bond with much yet for only having seen their mean sides mostly and none of their battle coolness, and also slyly because the hardcore manga fans know that these two are buddies?"
And then the brilliant person says, "Let's give them that fortress."
The brilliant person was then crowned Ruler of Ufotableland and the fans lived happily ever after.
Speaking of Pillar Filler, I also want to point out how nice that opening exposition between Shinobu and Kanao was. First, what a nice way of incorporating Kanao into a nice episode that gives us a nice little dose of everyone in the Corp cast, even by adding that little scene of Amane and Ubuyashiki too. I loved the little touches that develop the Butterfly Mansion, like the fact that on the path there, they have a stone sign that says "Butterfly Mansion" and a line of carved Jizo statues (to protect travelers and (deceased) children) with little butterflies. And that moment of Nezuko frowning as the sunlight goes behind a cloud? Wonderful. And Shinobu essential saying to Kanao, "I trust you with defending everyone here in the now VERY LIKELY EVENT OF KIBUTSUJI MUZAN ATTACKING while I have to go off to a Pillar Meeting now that you're back"? I looooove iiiiiiiiit. That also says a lot about the trust other Pillars have in Shinobu to entrust her with Nezuko instead of putting any pressure on her to take part in Pillar Training, as clearly they don’t know about Tamayo, and it's really anyone's guess if they know about the poison or not (though the light novel implies Himejima might have an inkling but doesn't know). Being Pillars, though, I doubt any of them would tell her she's wrong for being prepared to take down a demon in any possible way.
I love, love, love, love the treatment of all the straight-from-the-manga scenes, like "Welcome home, Inosuke" (except for the added 'did you miss me, Aoi-chan' because canonically Aoi is the one kind of girl who is not his type), Tamayo speaking with Oyakata-sama's bird, Mitsuri's "explanation" of the mark, and every single Pillar interaction. I love the amount of respect they show to Himejima (and how Ufotable slightly expanded on this), and I am so excited for the extra Himejima content this season. In the new marketing materials released on the same day as the episode/movie, they make stark use of one of the kanji characters in his name ("cry out"), which is a very nice touch. And the use of BGM!!! Especially the touches of Giyuu's and Mitsuri's themes during the meeting!
*happy sigh*
It is nice to be a fandom citizen of Ufotableland.

I just went to the kny premiere and this is my OOTD.
Tumblr media
Since my hair is partially dyed pink, I went for a Mitsuri inspired look. I braided my hair, wore her shirt (that I got from the swordsmith premiere) and wore all her colors (pink white jacket, green skirt, and flower patterned socks.) Also close up of my pink hair below.
Tumblr media
I got this idea when me and my friend were window shopping for clothes. We were talking abt which clothes the kny characters would wear and which ones our oc would wear too, so that's how we thought of doing some casual cosplay during the priemere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My friend went for a subtle Tengen look, with a simple black outfit, since Tengen doesnt wear a haori. He also wore some jewelry as an homage to Tengens flashiness. He also loves Zenitsu so ofc he wore a Zenitsu bag.
The theater has less people and wasn't as lively as the Swordsmith premiere, probably cuz we went at the wrong time, but hey, more room for us to be unhinged without disrupting anyone tho haha. (I was sad not to see any cosplayers, we intended to bring our cosplayer friend too, but she was busy)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was a display so we took lots of pictures. We even made sure to stand next to our fictional crushes, me with Giyuu and my friend with Tengen.
Anyways here's what I thought abt the movie so far
-first of all I LOVE IT. I have no idea how much I miss seeing the rest of the characters so much. The Hashira Training arc is an arc that I really adore, bc it's one of the few moments where we get to see the characters slow down a bit. My friend says he finds it to be the most boring arc, but idk, with all the action in KNY I dig for some "boringness" once in awhile. Also we were joking abt how this arc is like the "school festival arc" or "beach episode" of KNY, again, one of the reasons to love this arc.
-I Never thought much about Sanemi and Obanai's dynamic before. I just know they are a besties, but this filler really made me interested in them! Snake breathing and Wind breathing visuals were just sooo cool!!
-Have I mention that I miss the cast so much, but also I find myself foaming at the mouth everytime I see Giyuu 💀🤣 I noticed that there seems to be a sad piano music that's playing when he was trying to leave the meeting (I wonder if that is his ost) meanwhile my friend is foaming at the mouth everytime he sees Tengen.
-I feel bad for anyone in the butterfly estate who had to sleep next to Zenitsu and Inosuke. XD
-Also it's so nice to see some Kanao and Shinobu moment! Shinobu looks extra gorgeous I noticed. They really yassified her this season, and I'm not complaining. Also I like how even after Giyuu left, Shinobu tried her best to include him when they were discussing the pillar training. I wish they didnt cut it short though, I wanna know what they talk about Giyuu behind close doors so bad lol.
-Mitsuri's "Tanjiro speech" was so well executed and adorable, and just when I thought it couldn't get more expressive in the manga, then they even added her ost, and it was just perfect! Kanahana knock it out of the park with this one too! Even if there weren't alot of people watching. I did hear some giggles in this scene (including ourselves)
-Overall, it was a very satisfying watch. I really enjoy this arc for being some of the slower moments before the storm that is the final arc, and I think they managed to nail that! All the little things such as the filler of Tamayo being informed about Shinobu helping her, and some scenes that were rearranged, made the flow of the story go more smoothly.
-Also yes the op really slaps.
Speaking of our cosplayer friend that we mentioned before, after we were done with movie, it's almost as if there was some fate or foreshadowing going on bc we did end up stumbling upon her (though not in cosplay) and we ended up going back to take better pictures with her in it!

"To the Hashira Training" Screening thoughts
Just got back from the theater a bit ago, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on the Hashira Training Special Screening! My brief spoiler free thoughts are as follows: Definitely give this one a watch if you have the time, Ufotable's animation is stunning, and while none of the content in this episode is unique per se, watching that animation on a large screen in a theater is simply wonderful. But for the rest of my thoughts, spoilers abound!
After seeing it in theaters, I have to wonder whether they'd planned this far in advance when making Episode 11 of Swordsmith Village, as it really shines on a big screen like this. I also ended up purchasing tickets to the English dubbed version accidentally, so this was my first time watching this episode in dub, and I have to say, they're really nailing it. Tanjiro, Genya, and Muichiro in particular really stood out with their performances. I also cried again at Nezuko's 'Sacrifice' which is the mark of really well done emotional execution, because I felt the tragedy despite knowing it all turns out all right in the end.
The main draw of this screening is obviously the early premiere for the Hashira Training arc, and this started off really strong. Giving the 'beginning season filler demon' utilized in Mugen Train and Entertainment District to the Hashira really was a nice choice. In particular giving more screen time to Sanemi and Obanai was greatly appreciated. I always felt Obanai's screen time was a little lacking in the original manga, and so giving some extra exposure to him is great!
While the rest of this episode is relatively fluffy, I feel like Ufotable accurately captured the dread of the Hashira Training Arc- this is the calm before the storm, and the Hashira know it. I also appreciated Amane getting some good screen time. I also, as a music nerd, enjoyed hearing all the returning motifs for the various Hashira was incredibly fun and even a little nostalgic, particularly for Uzui's theme. I am also a simple and predictable KNY fan, and I cried when I saw Tanjiro's new sword with Rengoku's tsuba. RENGOKU-SAAANNNN!!!!
The new OP absolutely slaps, and I love the imagery in it, and I can't wait until I can listen to the full song on loop. And the same goes for the absolutely transcendent remix of 'Kizuna no Kiseki' that plays over the credits. Seriously worth sitting through the credits for that alone! (Even though I always sit through the credits on principle).
I eagerly await news on when this season will hit the tv and wait with bated breath for my Tomioka Angst.

its sorta formatted like a season, one chapter as an episode, and i tried to mimick the storytelling vice of demon slayer, with all the humour and how the characters talk and interact with each other. i also tried to not make my oc too ooc, but with all the bashing hashira oc have gotten, im sorta nervous.

demon slayer rant cause i can (manga spoilers)
haven’t really thought about kny since forcing myself to be un-hyperfixated on it once 2021 hit. been casually following it since the mugen train movie came out in theaters due to being busy with life and having read the manga so i know everything to expect (to put this into perspective-- i was finishing up my sophomore year in hs when i first watched the anime and now im about to be a second-year college student) but with this recent season following some of my top characters (genya, muichiro, and mitusri) and knowing my other top characters (giyuu) are about to become important again i can’t help thinking deeply about it (and to reiterate, manga spoilers past ‘read more’ youve been warned)
the reason why i wanted to rant about kny was the handling of the upcoming training arc. it’s a short arc, but incredibly important for character development and set pieces for the last arc. at first, maybe a movie adaption like mugen train but i don’t think that’s a good way to adapt it, for the sole reason that anime onlys will see ‘training arc’ and just chalk it up to filler (which-- it kinda is but shhhhh), so obviously it has to be apart of a season. i however don’t believe it should be it’s own season like how the last two arcs have been adapted just cause it is a shorter arc, i think at tops it should be six episodes with one episode being dedicated to giyuu’s backstory like (like ep 8 of s3) and the sixth episode ending on the ubuyashiki estate exploding and the crows delivering the news of the final battle starting. this is a weird thing to rant on but whatever. this leads me to believe the smartest choice for ufotable is to make s4 the last season altogether and have around the same amount of episodes as s1 and maybe even an extra episode or two just to do the story justice.
another thing i want to ramble about is how i believe zenitsu and obanai were done dirty in the story. every other main character was treated with respect and were able to be taken seriously except these two, with zenitsu just being the “comic relief” and obanai basically being a second thought. like, his backstory was thrown at us out of left field we only spent time with him one-on-one for like a chapter until his backstory. i wish he was treated with more respect (this also might just be the fact one of my closest alters in my system is an obanai fictive because i originally did not like obanai LOL). that’s why near the end of my time in the fandom i literally created an entire arc in my head that i maybe told like one other person that would develop their characters more and be treated seriously (willing to go more in-depth with that arc if asked).
i think lastly what i want to go on about is how i genuinely love the shinazugawa brothers. now while genya is in my top three of kny characters, sanemi isn’t in my top lists but goddamn do i love him, i think i just kinda love every character especially now that i grown up and love obanai more. but the story with the sinazugawa brothers is so beautiful i can’t describe it. if i had to decribe it, i would say they are the perfect foils to tanjiro and nezuko. both are siblings with a demon/demon-adjacent sibling but tanjiro protects nezuko in a different way than how sanemi protects genya, cause sanemi genuinely believes genya should have stayed far away from the demon slayer corps so he wouldn’t lose him, using the guise of hate by pushing him away, but tanjiro wants to keep his sister close to him to protect her. it’s very beautiful and i have more to say about them but i have to wake up early in the morning to begin my summer job lol.
i will just end this whole thing with my ask box is open if anyone wants to discuss kny more or just have any questions for me about the show.

Hi Tai!
Akaza for the character opinion bingo? If it hasn't been asked yet. I want to see your thoughts on basketball boy.
Tumblr media
AKAZA !! I wanted so much for you, king. I can't wait to see the upper moon meeting next season .. he is so iconic. He is the moment. My special evil guy. What can I say .. I'm a sucker for a pink haired BADDIE. Two bingos almost four for him. Wild.
Hes so intense... and he has one of my favorite designs in KNY, though I wish his tattoos glowed for some reason .. (curse that one demon from that stupid filler episode for stealing my idea)
Send me a character for bingo !!

Alright y'all, I'm on a Demon Slayer/Kimetsu no Yaiba hyperfixation rn and you're gonna hear about it!
Demon Slayer Anime & Manga Spoilers beyond this point 👇
Ok so take this with a grain of salt, as I am a HUGE fan of Fullmetal Alchemist and Demon Slayer, but I can't help but compare the two a little bit.
KNY is very good, it tells a nice story and I love the characters a lot! But there's a lot of characters...and they don't really get a lot of time put into them because of Tanjiro. He's the main character of course but it felt like he had to be shoehorned into some arcs for anything to happen to anyone else. (Mainly the Entertainment District Arc) The pacing in KNY isn't great, a lot of the ending felt rushed and a lot of plotlines came up out of nowhere only to get dropped just as quickly too. A lot of this could've been sprinkled into the anime as foreshadowing or foundation for later full reveals. (Like that random prophecy or Shinobu and the Wisteria Poison! Like, literally give me crumbs I am BEGGING.)
Now take a look at Fullmetal Alchemist, it has a similar plotline (older sibling has something terrible happen to younger sibling and goes on a journey to fix it. Etc. Etc.) and FMA has a big cast of characters too. However, these characters are allowed to exist without Edward Elric having to hover around them all the time. They've got their own shit going on in the background and it makes them compelling and well rounded. Even the characters who only show up for two episodes (I'm looking at you Devil's Nest) are given time and care so we get invested into them! But there's also a lot of stuff we don't know about these characters as well, because they aren't the main character but it doesn't hurt their existence in the story. Imagine if we only saw things from Tanjiro's perspective, no other backstories, no one else's inner thoughts, nothing. You wouldn't care about those characters at all!
I feel like the Demon Slayer anime could've helped with this by adding more episodes and straying slightly from the Manga. The anime is incredibly faithful to its source material, but the source material also had a lot of stuff that couldn't get added that would've made good 'filler' episodes or scenes to help flesh out the characters more!
Tanjiro was in a coma for 4 months. You're telling me we couldn't get a Zenitsu centric episode while he was knocked out?? We can't get a more somber look at Inosuke waiting for his best friend to wake up? I CANT HAVE AOI AND KANAO ANGST?? (<- Aoi and Kanao have so much untapped potential that we don't get to see CAUSE THEY DONT INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER! AOI WANTED KANAO TO BE HER SISTER!!) The anime also already did this with that exclusive Kyojuro focused episode! We got a little sprinkled backstory for him AND his dad, plus what he was doing before he got on the train! (I didn't know I needed to know where all those bentos came from lmao but it was good! It made the world feel more alive.)
It would've also helped if characters, outside of Tanjiro, were allowed to interact with each other on screen! We're left to fill in gaps between characters who supposedly interact a lot with 0 examples of their relationship. Kanao is Shinobu's tsuguko but I can't think of a single time they spoke to each other that wasn't a flashback.
So, yeah. I love Demon Slayer, it's really good on its own but I feel like it needed to be refined and polished a little more, ya know?

Dust Watched: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-hen
Genres: Shounen, Fantasy, Action, TW: blood, gore (the usual) // 11 episodes // S01 (x) | S02 (x) | S03 (x)
Ho boy...
✧  story  ✧
This arc is definitely the weakest in my eyes. While all other arcs had a few things I didn’t like, this one flips the script as it had very few things I DID like. Most of my problems come down to the characters but the story wasn’t particularly engaging either.
Repetition might be inescapable for Shounens but that issue (bar fillers) usually only comes up when we’re on the anime’s 230th episode and 34th arc. Compared to that, KNY has a much shorter runtime and even fewer arcs, yet this season feels like I’ve already seen it multiple times before.
Tanjiro goes to a new place, meets the new characters in the first few comedic and chill episodes, the Upper Rank demon(s) show up, then we spend the rest of the season fighting until the sun comes up where the arc comes to an end. This is just... the exact same as the previous 2 arcs.
I refuse to believe this couldn’t be tweaked. The reason these fights take place in *one* night is because the demons are cowards and will run off the second they can’t win before the sun comes up. Okay, then introduce a demon who has less brawl and more brains and strategically hides when the sun comes up but deals incredibly deadly blows during the night when it is able to fight. This would be kind of impossible if we strictly follow the anime’s rules; Tanjiro would be able to smell where they are. But considering the stuff kny pulls out of its ass (*cough* Inosuke during the final battle in the last arc), just make this demon have some... weird powers that disrupts Tanjiro’s detection?
I’d say that I hope the next arcs will be more different but as they say, fool me thrice...
(Minor thing I just realized: the Hashiras keep dying/nearly dying because they don’t work together! The ease with which the Hashiras could dispatch Upper Ranks if only just 2 of them teamed up??)
✧  characters  ✧
Listen, not every character needs a whole episode long backstory. The Hashiras? Yeah, sure. They are a landmark of the show. But Genya? Little dude is the brother OF a Hashira. You could’ve just condensed his backstory into his brother’s and the result would be the same. Except, I’d actually care. And YET, despite spending a whole episode on his backstory the most important part of his character (his “powers”) don’t get answered! That was the only thing I cared about! Why?
Because Every. Backstory. Is. The. Same!
Character lived a happy/sad life with their parents and siblings and then one day a demon attacked them and murdered them all except the character! Shock and horror! Spurred on by revenge, they thus joined the Demon Slayer Corps! Yayyyy!
There are only so many times can I see the same story being told applied to different characters before I stop caring. When it happened the first time with Tanjiro? That was great! Horrid and impactful! But it won’t carry the same weight the 14th time around.
Of course, the one backstory that doesn’t fit this mold is Mitsuri who... sigh. Man, I don’t even wanna talk about it. Like, the message was good, don’t get me wrong. But it was just such a typical Shounen way of presenting a strong “yet” pretty female character, I had to roll my eyes.
To balance the amount of flashbacks needed for the new characters, this season went and gave us the absolute most boring demons imaginable. One of them doesn’t even get a backstory which was kinda funny. I didn’t mind this much; they have enough personality to make things entertaining without us knowing their “””””tragic”””” backstories.
Either way, the pacing of this season is a complete mess due to these constant and incredibly long flashbacks. We get like 2 minutes of fighting before the camera zooms in on a character’s face and they start inner-monologuing “This reminds me of when I was 2 years old and eating an apple next to my 12 siblings...”. Then we spend the entire episode getting to know them before we finally snap back to the present fight only for the episode to... end.
The inner-monologues were actually a huge problem in this season. The characters spend less time talking to each other than they do talking to themselves which was not only boring but also quite a bit awkward after a while.
✧  art  ✧
Ufotable brings the usual fare to the fights. Some of the effects and POVs were a bit hilarious (the demon meeting in the first episode reminded me of those “Indian dramas” with the camera moving left right left up down left left every 2 seconds) but everything else brought the usual quality.
✧  sound ✧
The OP and ED slap as usual. I had some complaints about the VA’s this time around though but the script was kinda stale so I’m not surprised they didn’t really know how to portray it properly.
✧  overview ✧
Swordsmith Village? More like Flashback Village ahaaahhahahhaahhaha... sigh
My Rating: 6/10 (you’re on thin ice bud)

Things that ran through my head while watching this episode:
--The vast majority of this episode... is filler!! Ufotable can do good filler, I just forget that sometimes after how hyped I was for that Rengoku special. I've already gone on before about how the whole additional of the spider sisters' story was something that developed on existing characters, made statements on the relations between demons, and especially showed us a side of a Rui we wouldn't get through Rui's interactions with Tanjiro. It's also one of the best displays of something said multiple times throughout the series, fights between demons are pointless, if they want to kill each other it really is a matter of trapping one another in the sun.
--Also, a house like that in Japan is absolutely filled with spiders, I can promise you that.
--Giving Rui tons more family whom we don't see now, in particular younger siblings, was a choice. Though one panel in the manga implies he had a lot more, they generally look bigger than him. I question this choice for younger siblings a bit, as it seems Rui mostly wanted to be left alone with his family, so the little ones wondering off to find themselves killed by demon slayers doesn't seem likely, and if the parents' role is to protect the children then them having been killed off early on this mission when demon slayers entered the mountain doesn't seem likely, and if betraying Rui was so hard to do then them all having done so doesn't seem likely, and Rui seeing himself as the little brother--the center of the family--this whole time makes it seem like he wouldn't had wanted younger siblings unless they were the type to dote on him. What's the role of a younger sibling, in Rui's strict definitions? Were they toys to amuse him with their adoration for him, and Ufotable wanted to imply they didn't do a good enough job of this?
--Brother Spider seems to be the only one having fun playing house.
--Lack of food in those bowls was a really poignant choice to show the pointlessness of this facade.
--Mother Spider asking what Rui wants, and Rui responding that he wants to remember what family is like, sure does since he's about to remember that and be disappointed with his parents being willing to kill him. Oh, and the fact that he killed them instead.
--I really like how Rui has lost his cool, and then Giyuu just.... sweeps through with coolness.
--Also, Giyuu for sure totally has no recollection of Tanjiro at the moment, he's just another Corp member whom Giyuu has come to save, because Giyuu is kind.
--And then we have Shinobu.
--In the manga, she got right up and close and personal to freak Little Miss Spider out, but then she kept a polite distance as they conversed, leaving Sister Spider to feel the safety of open woods behind her in which she can potentially escape.
--And Ufotable was like, "no."
--"We are going to have Shinobu throw around what little weight she has, and she's going to enjoy it."
--"Also, she's a top."
--And no one stopped Ufotable, so they kept going. They gave Shinobu the pleasure of looming over someone (not an opportunity she gets often at her height), they set the scene to eerie music, and they told Hayami-san, "Yes, make her sound sweet. She's trying to be the living incarnation of her sister's memory, after all. No. Make it more twisted. More twisted. MORE TWISTED."
--Having become such a fan of KnY, and especially of Shinobu, I have come to see many layers of Shinobu's character, and looped from "she's angry" to "she's angry because she's sad" to "actually, Shinobu really is a very kind person (and that's why she's angry)" and I sort of forget how twisted she is, and how sad Kanae would be to see her turn into this kind of person. With how mature Shinobu seems compared to many of the other Pillars, I tend to forget that she does not deal with her feelings in a healthy way, nor does she actually act with much genuine kindness in moment-to-moment interactions. It's really a toss-up if she thinks she's doing a good job of imitating what Kanae would do or say any given situation, or if she knows she's being mean and takes pleasure in using empty pleasantries to do so. I'm willing to bet it's a mix, and depends on the situation.
--In any case, Shinobu, you are indeed messed up. Purposefully taking on a personality that's so different from her natural one had to have made the girls who love her feel strange and distanced, and by this time, she is almost certainly very toxic, in a literal sense. Shinobu has already put herself to death with Kanae.
--As she is one of my favorites, I have a lot of feelings about Shinobu's complexity, but I'll never forget my feelings the first time I watched this when I went from "oh, she'll be the cheerful healer character" to "oh, she's cheerful to the point of being callous" to "hmm, okay, she's kind of cute, I'm okay with Zenitsu being easily rescued this way, (I knew it was going to be way too easy though)," to...
--"Oh"
--"She's vicious."

I added a little side story for my Kny fashion series. Basically, Shinobu and Mitsuri helped Akari advertise her designs for extra corps funding by wearing them. Kanao and Nezuko also join soon after. It’s like a typical anime beach filler episode except with Taisho era fashion. The dresses all sold pretty well afterwards.
I like to think this took place somewhere in the Hashira training arc. Akari hurriedly finished her training just so she can do this. Akari likes to bonds with her friends through her craft (this is also probably the last time all five of them got to hang out like this. :’) )
Probably the reason why I liked the hashira training arc is because it's one of the few times where we got to see them have more moments of levity. I wish they got to have more of that, hence why I drew this little comic.

When Tanjiro grows up (if not sooner) he’s going to have so much romantic trouble because he’s just so nice and earnest and wants the best for the people around him. This will lead to misunderstandings and shenanigans because people will think he’s flirting when actually he’s just saying what’s on his heart.
He already has a fan club brewing at Shinobu Kocho’s home so it’s already begun.

What would you guys want to see for season 2 of Demon Slayer?
12-13 episode season of just the Red Light District arc
A full 26 episode season with both Red light district arc and Swordsmith Village arc
A 26 episode season for just the red light district art, but with extra anime exclusive filler (GOOD filler content, like not stuff that significantly changes plot points from the manga and actually enhances the story since kny was such a short manga)
(I dont think red light district is long enough on its own for a full 26 epsisode season iirc
For reference: season 1 covers 53 chapters, Red light district is 30 chapters, swordsmith village is 28 chapters long)

Hello! I'm Feb Lee!
Some say that it's hard to binge watch Gintama but I did it! How? Well, you may consider me a hardcore anime fan because I watched it because of the Seiyuus (Voice actors).
Actually I prefer reading manga for the original story (without fillers) and original drawing. I only watch animes for action genres like HxH or KNY etc. But I have watched plenty of animes.
Then I come across Danshi Koukosei and was amazed by one character. It's Hidenori, the leader of the trio. There's this one episode where he was having a monologue in his mind and I was amazed how this voice actor put life to the lines. Then I got curious about him and I discovered Gintama. Yes, he was Sugita Tomokazu-san!
To make the long story short, I appreciate Gintama because the voice actors are very good!! I get to know Gintoki, Kagura, Shinpachi and etc. voice actors and they are really good at their roles. But my favorite is Katsura. Hahaha. When I first watched Gintama he was just a character but as I get to know all the characters, each of them has a role in the anime, and Katsura is in the idiot side hahaha.
Anyway I don't think Gintama is for beginner anime/manga fans. You can overlook alot of things but you can always rewatch it.
