Leo clung to the railing, hunched over, desperately trying to regain balance, and quite honestly, looking like a wet cat trying to get out of a bathtub.

"Don't laugh at me," Leo's voice darkened. She glared at Lily, covering her mouth with her gloved hands. Lily skated over to where Leo was struggling.

"I'm not, Leo. I never laugh at you." Lily held out a hand to help her up. Leo, looking reluctant, took it. Lily kept holding her hand. "Just hang onto the rail. You'll be fine."

"Was this the plan?" Leo asked to the air. "To kill me?"

"Yes, Leo. Death by ice skating." Lily rolled her eyes, smiling a little. "I'm starting to think that Jaxon was right. Maybe all you did was get banned from public places and be evil. You've really never gone ice skating?"

"Obviously not." Leo made some sort of face like it was her first time not being good at something. "Ask my sister. When the winter comes, I hibernate like a bear."

Lily laughed, and Leo grinned. "Seriously! I buy all my food and shit in the fall, and stay home during winter. I don't go to school most of the year."

"Logan's going to have a fit when he hears that, you know." Lily began to skate faster when Leo could manage to not fall for over ten seconds. "You're this close to giving him gray hairs whenever you talk about... yourself, for lack of better word."

"Thanks, Lily," Leo deadpanned. "How encouraging."

"We should go find Elliot." A surge of worry suddenly filled her, at the mental image of Elliot laying face-down in the ice like he tended to do when he got hurt. Lily once watched the kid stub his toe and fully face-plant onto the floor without hesitation. She worried about him, most of the time.

On cue, the youngest of the group zoomed past them, screaming a long string of profanities in a blur of purple.

"What did you teach that kid, holy shit." Lily snickered at the sight of Elliot chasing down his brother. People gave him odd looks, whispering something about how he shouldn't know those sorts of words at his age. Lily was... inclined to agree. She thought it was hilarious when Dylan or the triplets (read: Elliot. Ryan and Sam would never) swore. Logan and Cass thought it was one of the worst crimes imaginable.

"I didn't teach him that!" Leo defended, and Lily did not believe her. "Okay, I taught him some of the kinder swears, the rest was all Jaxon. And maybe you."

Elliot went past them again, and Lily frowned, realizing they had barely moved a foot. She was being beaten by a ten-year-old.

They watched with wide eyes as Elliot leaped and landed perfectly, still chasing presumably Sam.

"Bullshit!" Lily yelled after her friend. Leo booed him loudly. Elliot skidded to a stop, and turned around, skating towards them.

That kid knocked over his cereal and spilled it all over the place trying to get the spoon in that morning. He ran into the front door on his way outside that day. Multiple times. He hit his head on the car door on their way here. And here he was, skating perfectly, jumping into the air, on his first try.

Leo told him as such, and he shrugged. "Maybe you guys are just too old. Your bones are breaking."

"Your bones are gonna break in a minute," Leo said dryly. "Seriously though, there is no way you're that good at this."

"I'm naturally gifted." Elliot flipped his hair back, and that was definitely a phrase he got from Lily.

"I ran into Jaxon on my last loop," Elliot mentioned, a small smile on his face, a shit-eating grin, if you will. "He says to tell you that you shouldn't hold hands before marriage."

"Do me a favor, E. Go around, and say fuck you to Jaxon. I give you full permission."

Elliot's eye lit up, and he nodded, skating away. Lily slowly turned to look at Leo.

"Didn't teach him to swear my ass." Lily swatted the back of Leo's head, and Leo snickered.

"I said mostly." Leo's grin fell, to a determined look. "Teach me how to do this properly."

"Seriously?"

"I'm not being beaten by a fifth-grader who fell asleep in the dryer last week."

Lily snickered. "Fair. Okay. Let go of the rail."

"You want me to die." Leo reluctantly let go, slipped, and grabbed onto Lily's arm.

"Stand up," Lily instructed, earning a glare. "Don't lean back. Lean forward. You aren't walking, you're kicking the ice, got it?"

"No," Leo said honestly. She gave a fast kick to the ground, the ridges of the skate dug into the ice, and catapulted Leo forward. Lily moved to stand in front of her, catching her as she fell.

Their faces were close, Leo's eyes were illuminated by the colored fairy lights hanging on the street lamps, sparkling. Lily coughed into her hand, and turned back to where she had been before.

"You're doing horribly," Lily decided. "Just hold on, you'll be fine."

Jaxon nearly knocked Leo over in a hug around the neck. "How goes it, friends?"

"Terrible," Leo mumbled, and Lily nodded in agreement. "Did you see Elliot?"

"Yes!" Jaxon looked visibly stressed. "I fell over, and he looked me dead in the fucking eye and did a twirl. Are we sure he spent five years in that room and not on an ice rink?"

"At this point..." Leo trailed off, rolling her eyes.

"Local Leo isn't immediately good at something, commits a war crime," Lily spoke in a fake announcer voice, to Jaxon's amusement.

"More at six," Jaxon finished in that same voice. "Coming up next, I'm stealing your hat."

Lily didn't have time to process what he said before her hat was yanked off her head, and her brother sped away. Lily glowered.

"Go after him." Leo gave a thumbs up. "I'll be fine."

"Okay." Lily gave one final glance at her. "Find Logan, he can show you what to do. You know, if you're able to move from that spot."

"Shut the fuck up."

Lily smiled, and turned, speeding off towards her brother. A blur of colored lights, holiday music, and a large crowd of people, she was dizzy among it. Little bits of ice flew off from the skates, melting on impact as they hit her ankles.

Lily slowed, and found Jaxon playing a game with Dylan, tossing the hat back and forth. Jaxon threw it to Dylan.

"Dylan, go!"

Dylan took the hat and went off. Lily followed them, and from there, Dylan threw it to Sam, who caught on quickly, and Lily could feel herself starting to lose control over her own speed. Sam threw it to Ryan, who panicked and gave it to Elliot, and that was the moment Lily knew she was fucked, because Elliot was way faster.

He wasn't even that fast of a runner. He literally was out of breath going to the park across the street. How he wasn't having an asthma attack right now was a mystery.

It went to Logan, who calmly gave it back to Lily.

"Thank you." Lily adjusted her hat back on her head. Logan smiled, and nodded, and Jaxon booed him.

By the time she found Leo again, she was standing up and moving just fine without the rail. Lily beamed.

"Hey! Good job!" Lily skated over, lungs burning, out of breath.

"This is overrated." Leo kept going, and grabbed back onto Lily's hand. "I'll pay for some apple cider?"

"Sure." Lily nodded. They alerted Logan that they were leaving, and took a final loop around the ice, as they weren't allowed to go backwards.

Walking back on regular ground was a hard adjustment, as now they actually did have to walk. It was more of a stomp, really, as they tried to figure out where they left their shoes.

Inside the building where they rented the ice skates, there was an apple cider and hot chocolate stand, like a soda machine for the winter time.

Leo paid for two paper cups, and held it under the cider dispenser. Steaming, orange-ish liquid flowed into the cup. A plastic lid closed over it, cutting off the steam. Two of those small straws followed. Leo leaned against the counter as Lily filled her own cup, opting for the hot chocolate instead. She shoved a handful of marshmallows inside.

They found an empty seat around one of the fireplaces scattered around the area, sitting on the bench together. Lily's head leaned against Leo's shoulder. Leo didn't move.

"This is a lot better," Leo commented, voice uncharacteristically softer. "I'm pretty tired. About to take the world's fattest nap when we get home."

Lily hummed. "Let's steal Logan's car."

Leo huffed a small laugh. "It's just downtown... they can find their way home. It isn't too far, is it?"

"They'll live." Lily yawned. Leo's head rested on top of hers. "They've got phones. They can figure it out."

Leo didn't respond. Lily's eyes widened. "Oh my god, are you actually asleep?"

No response. Lily stifled a laugh, and took her slipping cup from her hands, placing it on the ground.

"...I think I'd rather be here, actually," Lily said to herself. This was followed by an obnoxiously fake snore. "You're fucking with me, aren't you? Asshole."

Leo snickered. Her expression softened, eyes closed. "I'd rather stay here, too."

FIRST IMPRESSION

Have to preface this with the fact that I was really into baseball six or seven years ago when mcdavo was winning art ross number like. One or two. This was about 2016 or 2017 and i had the thescore app and I was looking at their simple ranked stats because i was bored, and instead of staring at the baseball ones over and over again I poked around on the other sports. I was not yet a leafs fan (born and raised in toronto so like, you support the leafs, but i wasn’t what i am now) and i looked at the points rankings and there was this annoying little orange background man in first. He had a nice 100 points and nobody else had that. And I was annoyed because I didn’t like that this Edmontonian fucker was doing better than anyone else. In retrospect it is very funny that my Oilers Hate Campaign is older than my actual hockey fandom.

IMPRESSION NOW

I have a lot of thoughts about Connor. I strongly disagree with the boring-sayers. He is not boring; he’s stiff and bland on camera out of both intention and The Tism and clearly has a lot actually going on once the panopticon is looking away (oxymoron statement but u know). Obviously he’s best in the world type whatever beat but thats like. The least interesting thing abt him. Dude is SO haunted it’s like you took a good portion of the sort of hockey curse an entire team typically develops and then dropped it right on his head like some sort of cartoon piano. But he is blissfully oblivious to the genre and is tragically determined to power through. 

I think he’s kind of spineless ultimately and this is what makes him say such vanilla things and let himself get so thoroughly and obviously managed by lk1 and stuff. but also that he is very single-minded and knows what he wants and is unafraid to pursue that at the cost of neglecting everything else in his life. Which is a pretty self-destructive habit when you have curses and whatnot but again, completely unaware of that, so he’s just barreling head-on towards the void, head down skates pumping

His edges are decent but he’s a speed skater by trade far more than a figure skater… jason brown could win 5 art rosses but connor mcdavid could NEVER do riverdance!!!

Completely unrelated to my thoughts on connor at all but the endless font of ohl bodies and the churning mill of eteri girls. It’s the same it’s all the same

i think the most ideal thing narratively to happen to davo is Catastrophe. like we all know he has this very rigid and unquestioned worldview because he has never bothered to really look outside what the nhl straighttrack/lauren kyle has planned for him it’s most compelling to just. completely upend that

mccareer changing injury is a good one but ive already seen that one said. i do have this scrap of 9734 floating around thats like. leon gets fridged and he cant live with oilerhood after that so he goes the 1 other place he can stomach himself being (torono) and then falls in deeply toxic-homoerotic-codependency love with am34. and obviously is forced to reconsider his entire worldview about the ticking clock and the impermanency of life and grief and curses and haunting because damn leo you’re supposed to be dead why do i keep seeing u everywhere etc. it is important for my NARRATIVES that mcdavid is widowed and/or divorced

Love On The Ice

The ice rink. A figure skaters home away from home. Some go to the ice for training, some go there for fun, some go there to cry, some go there to rage, and some go there for love. This is no different for a 25 year old French skater named Jean Douce.

Jean pov-

Walking to the rink was something I always enjoy. Sure, my bag was kinda heavy at times and the walk may be long but it gave my legs some practice moving before I step foot onto the ice tonight. Todays competition was being held at my home rink in France, which is quite nerve racking, but I can't let that show. My coach said that this may be my chance to make it to a grand prix final, but I'm not so sure. We'll see when I get there I guess. As long as I try my best, then we'll be just fine.

When I finally made it to the rink, I looked up the sign 'Lilac Ice Rink' gave me a sign of comfort. I felt at home, I felt comfortable, I felt relaxed again. I opened the door gently before walking in, waving to the blonde behind the front desk, Ms. Joy, the woman who owned the place and someone I've known since I was little.

"Good luck out there!" She said with a smile

I gave a simple nod and went to the locker room to change, I didn't here anything before I entered, making me think not many people were there, 'Weird, I guess I am kind of early though.' I opened the door and sat my stuff down on the bench I looked over to see a face I hadn't seen before. The person had a pointy hair style, all of his hair was pointed infront of him, strange hair style but not bad. He was wearing a jacket over what I assumed was the outfit he was skating in tonight. I tried to read his jacket but the back of the chair covered it and I couldn't recognize the logo, curious, I walked up to say hi to him.

"Hi!" I greeted,

He put down what I recognized was blush and looked at me, "Hello, who are you?" I grabbed a chair, pulling it over and sitting down next to him, "I'm Jean."

"Are you skating tonight?" The black haired man asked

"Yes, I'm on the French team! What about you?"

"I'm on the Russian team."

"Ooo! Cool! What's your name?"

"Georgi."

I got up and held out my hand, "Well Georgi, I hope we get along."

He scoffed and shook my hand, "Good luck."

I smiled and walked back over to my bag and got out my outfit for the night, when I was putting it on, everything was fine until I remembered that it tied in the back. Unlike some people I know, I can't reach that far back. I turned my head and saw that Georgi was still here, I'll just ask him for help.

"Hey! Georgi!"

He turned around, "Hm?"

"Can you," I pointed to the ties, "Tie this for me?"

He rose to his feet and walked over, "Sure, but don't blame me if it looks awful."

I laughed, "Heh, I think it'll look fine, I mean, if you can make your face look so pretty, you can probably tie a knot pretty well too."

Georgi paused for a moment before going back to tying the knot, "Don't say stuff like that."

"Awh cmon! Its just a compliment!"

The cloth on my back tightened and the feeling of hands on his back left, "There its tied."

"Thanks!"

He grabbed his bag, waved and exited the locker room, the door slamming behind him.

'I think we'll get along well.'

A while later, Georgi pov-

I stood, leaning on the wall of the rink, deep in thought. Who was that Jean boy? All I know is that hes a skater from France. I want to know more about him, hes quite a nice boy and I think we'd get along well. I glanced over to where he was getting some last minute practice. His olive eyes sparkled as bright as a star, his skating wasn't the best I have ever seen by far but the passion he had was as obvious as the blue sky.

The only thing I could keep my eyes on was the cute brown haired boy, I spaced out from all of reality and I wouldn't have it any other way...

"Oi! Georgi! I'm talking to you!"

I turned to the voice to see coach Yakov behind me, "Oh sorry."

I cleared my throat before speaking, "Do you know anything about Jean? The boy over there?" I said, pointing to him.

"Ah, that's Jean Douce, hes a French skater."

"Well I know that much, anything else?"

"Well hes quite the amateur, I heard from his coach that hes only been to the second part of a figure skating contest once."

"Ah, I wonder why.."

"I heard he is married and has a kid so that's probably why, its hard to balance a family life and skating, anyone can tell you that."

Those words felt like a jab to the heart, "Oh.."

"Your going on last by the way, I wouldn't have it that way normally but, cant argue with the organizers."

I nodded and walked over to the bench to sit, grabbing my water-bottle from my side and taking a sip. While I was drinking I stole a glimpse at Jean who was now panting, head hanging down as he sat about 2 benches away from me. Why the world doesn't he have water? I sighed, 'Do I have to do everything for this boy now?' Wait that doesn't sound too bad.. I glanced at my water bottle which was still practically full and headed over to him.

I sat down by him, which caused him to instantly look over, "O-oh hi."

With a nod, I held my water-bottle out infront of him, "Here, I saw you didn't have one but your panting like a fucking dog so I figured you'd want some."

He grabbed it, his hand brushing against mine causing my heart rate to go up higher then what I am fairly certain is healthy. He smiled brightly, it was adorable and when I saw that on his face, I knew this was what they call love at first sight.

"So, I heard your married?" "Yes. I have a wife named Salem."

I was curious, I want to know more about her, "What's she like?"

"Heh, not great lately.."

"Mind telling me why?"

"She just doesn't approve of the fact that I do figure skating full time she thinks it wont make good money which is-"

"Bullshit" "Bullshit" We said in unison, we both let out a chuckle and Jean continued,

"Because of that I cant get as much practice in because I cant get the time away from her nagging to get out to the rink."

I looked at him, thinking, "I think I have an idea."

"What is it?"

"I'll help you with your routine."

His eyes widened at my words, "Don't you need to practice too?"

"I memorize my routines quite well, I think i'll be fine with coaching you."

"I have a coach already y'know?"

I scoffed, "Yeah and from what I saw she has no fucking idea what she's doing."

"I mean.. You're not wrong."

I stood and held out my hand, "So get up and lets head to the ice."

Jean grinned, putting my water-bottle down and grabbing my hand, "Alright!"

After the competition Jean pov-

Well.. I didn't make the cut, I guess I was right, heh. My score was 221, I was about 4 points behind the 3rd place winner who was a boy from America named Leo de la Iglesia. While I was getting changed in the locker room, Georgi was sitting down removing his makeup

"You're not very chatty.." He stated

"Heh, I guess I'm just upset about losing.. Good job on getting 2nd though!"

"For what its worth, I think you should have gotten third, Leo failed that one double axal so he shouldn't have had 225 points, you should have scored higher too, you landed everything."

I let out a dry chuckle, "Still my jumps weren't nearly as good."

"Still."

"Thanks, Georgi."

I stuffed my stuff into my bag and was about to leave when I felt a tap on my shoulder, "Hm? Did you need something?"

"Can I have your number?"

"Sure!"

He handed me his phone, I typed in my number and put in a contact name. "See you later, fée endormie" (Sleeping fairy)

Georgi's face looked as red as a cherry, his words were stammered too, "Y-yeah you too.."

I waved, closing the door to the locker room behind me. The walk back to the hotel was long, I wanted to be outside longer so I could think. Think about the cute Russian boy I met just a few minutes prior. Then I started to ask myself, 'This is so.. Wrong, what's wrong with me.. I am a married man, I shouldn't think things like this.' I sighed, letting those thoughts die. Those thoughts were replaced with more happy ones about Georgi and how the day went, 'Yeah.. we can think about the future later, day-dreaming never hurt anyone, right?'

About a month later-

I was relaxed on my bed. my wife was out at work and finishing up some school work. I am still going through collage since I had dropped out for a few years to help raise Akaashi. But now hes 17 and a third year at Fukurōdani Academy, a school here in Japan which my wife is the superintendent of. The work was nothing bad, I was about to type my last sentence before heading to the ice rink for practice when my phone buzzed with a message from Georgi

Jean: Uhhh why?

Georgi: Cuz I'm outside and its cold!

Jean: Ok! I'm on my way!

I ran faster then I ever had down the stairs, I thought I was going to fall and land on my face but luckily I didn't. I unlocked the door and opened it, revealing Georgi in a black jacket with matching pants. His hair was down, I have seen him with his hair down a lot but it was so cute that I couldn't help but blush at the sight.

"So what are you doing here?"

"I was in Japan and wanted to see you, simple as that."

A smile grew onto my face and we walked to my room where we sat on my bed, he read a book while I finished that last sentence of my paper, once I was done I turned to him and asked,

"Hey I think you forgot a citation." He said,

"Oooh! I had an issue with that one! I tried to get the information but when I clicked the link I used, the domain was down, I just put down the article title and access date since my professor said that was fine."

"Oh, gotcha. But other then that I would say just fix some words, you used 'according to' with your textual evidence a lot so I would say change that."

"Alright, thanks! You sure know your stuff!"

"Yeah, I did really well in Language arts and Writing classes back when I was in school."

"Cool! I guess I'll have to ask for your help more~" I cooed

"Pfft, have fun with that." He snickered as he went back to his book

I kept looking for more words but I kept catching myself getting distracted, "Hey, what do you-"

Before I could say anything else I felt something on my neck, I moved my eyes down to the feeling and saw Georgi, biting my neck.

"G-Georgi?"

He pulled back instantly and scooted about a foot back, "Oh my god! I am so, so, so sorry!"

I smirked, "Do it again, Georgi."

"Isn't your wife going to be home soon?"

"She texted me earlier, she's going to a meeting in Paris, she'll be away for the next few days."

"And what about Ak-"

"Are you going to keep asking questions or are you going to do it again?"

The Russian boy let out a 'heh' and scooted forward, continuing what he was doing before. I smirked and didn't react, finishing up the paper. It was only about 2 minutes later when I heard a sad 'humph'

The mouth released my neck for a moment, "Hey.. Pay attention to me."

I let out a chuckle, turned off my laptop and put it on a side table. I turned around to face Georgi and put my arms around his waist, "There, I'm all yours now."

He placed a kiss on my lips, "Good."

Georgi's lips locked back on mine hungrily. This was the thing I wanted for months, no, this is the type of thing I've wanted my whole life and I never knew it before. God, please let this last forever.

He crawled closer to close the distance and put his knee between my legs, the feeling of having something to rub felt amazing and it caused me to whimper. The moment those whimpers became loud enough for Georgi to hear, I was pinned down with my hands above my head. He dipped his head down to whisper into my ear, "May I, my sweet baby prince?" Those words sent a shiver up my spine, "Yes, please.."

"That was so good.." I said, panting while laying on Georgi's chest

The Russian skater let out a snort and ran his hands through my hair, "Was it now? Or do you just moan for more whenever you feel like it?"

chuubo (no last name), who built a machine in his shed that grants wishes. pretty straightforward. you can see and interact with his daydreams. he wished a) everything would be ok b) for some ice cream c) that he could have his ice cream and eat it (or some variation on the joke i dont recall exactly). if chuubo is a girl she’s usually called shokyou instead. i forgot to mention chuubo can turn into a giant snake but it will NOT help

seizhi schwan, chuubo’s best friend! seizhi is really good at being a best friend! chuubo wished for a best friend and there seizhi was! seizhi doesnt have imposter syndrome about this or the fact that the wish-granting engine basically grabbed a shapeless eldritch blob out of nowhere and turned it into a best friend! its fine!

jasper, the child of the sun. ok remember how the sun died well she was also an angel and jasper is her kid but jasper isnt an angel. you see the sun got shot down by Death and death is also jaspers dad its really complicated. anyways jasper is sort of nebulously implied to be on track to take her moms place in some way, there are a lot of portents and miracles, however the more important thing is jasper has a power that lets her eat Anything. no matter size or substance or scale. also she can grow multiple limbs to take care of problems

natalia, whose epithet i dont remember. natalia is new to town she crossed the lake which connects to uhhh dont worry about that but shes from russia. she underwent hardcore soviet training in either ice skating or kung fu or psychic powers or all three. she can be superhumanly good at anything except processing emotions

principal entropy ii. entropy runs horizon academy, a hereditary job he took over from his dad. entropy also moonlights as the angel of fortitude, a vigilante on a motorbike who mostly helps old ladies cross the road since there isnt much crime in fortitude. e2′s hands are always bleeding and that blood can mutate you so watch out. he uses it to make hall monitors. principal entropy is like just barely old enough to be out of school himself he is not qualified to be a principal. he is exactly old enough to lament hes too old for this when the other gmd kids get him caught up in their bullshit

Things I hope to see in the YOI movie

 - A wedding                                                                                                     

 - Some background on Yuuri’s life outside of figure skating. Like what did he major in in college? How did he do in school? Just how much gaming did he do in his free time? Has he had past romantic relationships? I just got a lot of questions about our little katsudon.                                                                     

 -Some background on Victor in general. Literally the only thing we know about Victor is that he’s been skating for twenty years and is very much in love with Yuuri. I wanna know about his family; where his family lives, what their relationship is, whether or not he has any siblings. A flashback or two would just be phenomenal. Also I want to know Victor’s education background because I can not imagine Yakov or possibly Victor’s parents being ok with him neglecting his studies.                                                                                                                

 -To keep this train rolling why not some Yuri background? I vaguely remember seeing that Yuri’s mom was some what famous (dont quote me on this) and is always traveling which is why Nikolai is essentially raising his grandson.                 -Some down time. We’ve gotten so much official art that is just the YOI characters all hanging out being friends and honestly I would love to see those scenes come to life.                                                                                                   

-No death. I’m all for angst but my heart can only take so much.                           

-My assumption for the plot of this movie is going to revolve around Victor’s return to the ice and the struggles of both competing and coaching. I like to think that we’re going to get some fluff with Victuuri living together in Russia while also getting moments where they both get frustrated with the other. 

The moive could be about the approaching wedding; about them not only planning this huge event but also still competing both together and against each other and how stressful that can be. There could be drama, angst, fluff, and honestly it would be the best rom/com I’ve ever watched.                                        

 - I want to see more of the other skaters. I want to know more about Chris’s mystery man and get a more thorough explanation about their relationship. I also want more interaction between him and Victor so that we can get a better grasp on their friendship.

I want some fluffy scenes between Guang Hong and Leo because obviously Guang Hong has a crush on him or at the very least thinks very highly of him. 

I want more of the Crisipino twins and Emil interactions. I ship Emimike a lot and would to see some of that develop.

I want to see the Russian skate team interact with Yuuri and for them to all become one big happy family. Also in the show we never once see Victor interact with anyone from Russia other than Yakov and Yuri so I want to see how he acts around the others; both on ice and off. 

I want to see Phichit and/or Mari give Victor the shovel talk. Hell I want to see Yakov give Yuuri the shovel talk because deep down I know he cares.

I like JJ. I really do. I think he’s a good guy who cant take a hint and I wish him the best. However I dont see him being in the movie all that much. If we do see him I imagine it’ll be Yuuri going through his instagram and seeing a picture of JJ and Isabella getting married. Hell maybe he’ll even show up to try and compete with Victuuri to see who will have the better wedding. You know what. Fuck it. That sounds awesome and I want Victor to get super into the “competition” and making it more extra than it needs to be.

I would not mind some more interaction between Otabeck and Yuri. I dont need it but I wouldnt mind it. 

  - I want an uncensored kiss. 

  - All in all I want this to be a jam-packed movie with a run time of at least three and half hours.

Why Phichit is my Favorite Character

In honor of reaching 500 followers, I decided it was about time I made a post that shows that this blog is actually what it sounds like. This is going to be a long ride full of incoherent rambling, so hold on tight. Yes I am listening to Shall We Skate and Terra Incognita on repeat while writing this

Lets start from the beginning. The first time we see Phichit, we see him for only a few seconds, where he only says one line of dialogue, ¨Yuuri!¨, which was preceded by a giggle. We don’t see him again for the rest of the episode, or the next. Or the next. There is nothing that you can glean from this character at first glance.

But that was the moment I fell in love with the character that is Phichit Chulanont. 

See, It wasn't his first official appearance that made me fall in love with him. The reason I liked this character so much was because I understood he was close to Yuuri and cared about him. Now, for those of you who don’t know, I became invested in Yuri!!! on ICE because of Yuuri and the premise + figure skating. Not victuuri, although that was wonderful because!!! Representation!!! I was just glad there was a main character I, and many others, could deeply relate to. But this post isn't about Yuuri. Its about Phichit. And because I could see he cared for Yuuri, I got interested. 

So I watched the scene again to figure out what I could. And here is what I was able to come up with.

He lives in Thailand, but has just arrived home after being somewhere else, or is leaving. More likely the former. He is cheerful, and invested somewhat in social media. He is close friends with Yuuri, or at least acquainted, and is likely a figure skater. 

I looked him up after that, and my love only grew. 

Also, we had this picture in the ending

The next time we see Phichit, we see him in a video call with Yuuri in episode 4. His first appearances are all very Yuuri-centered. 

But boy did this scene deliver a BIG LOAD of information. 

I had been right about quite a few things from my first guesses about Phichit. He just arrived back in Thailand and likes social media, as seen by the literal touchscreen gloves and multiple IG posts. He is also very close with Yuuri. VERY CLOSE. I damn near cried over how comfortable and happy Yuuri became when he was talking with Phichit. And how comfortable PHICHIT looked when he was talking to Yuuri. 

They had clearly been friends for a long time, Yuuri even knew phrases in Phichits native language, and I have no doubts that Phichit knows phrases in Japanese.

This sort of familiarity and calm interaction is something we only really see Yuuri take part in when he is with his family, +the Nishigori’s, at least at the beginning of the series. 

When Yuuri starts talking about composer girl, Phichit is able to immediately understand what Yuuri needs without even having to hear Yuuri say it. That is the kind of friendship some can only dream of. 

We already know Phichit is a wonderful, reliable friend from less than a minute of interaction. Less than a minute. I counted. I have seen dozens of shows where it takes multiple WHOLE EPISODES to understand the relationship between two characters, but with Yuri on Ice it takes less than a minute. This is a result of good writing and good, rounded characters. 

Which leads to my next topic of discussion.

Phichit is such a well-rounded character holy shit

There are no lingering doubts about Phichit’s character. There isn't a scene where you are left wondering, “Why did Phichit do this” or “What is Phichit thinking” because we know, at least in my case. As long as you understand Phichit as a character you can understand the motivations behind his actions. 

Episode 6 is a beautiful Phichitfest and I was having a good ol’ time. 

Now, for reference, episode 6 is when I really got into Yuri on Ice as a show. Characters I didn't really like were starting to have more appeal, like Viktor, and characters I loved got better, somehow. 

Bonus points for fashion goddamn

So,as I’m watching this episode I’m just waiting and thinking 

when do i get to see Phichit skate?? when??

I find out Phichit skates first and Im !!!!

then he skates. 

AND BOY DOES HE EVER FUCKING SKATE

Phichit steps out onto that rink in his princely attire and I am gone then and there.

Shall We Skate? is such a masterpiece and I LOVE IT

You can say what you want about Phichit, but if you cant see how much Phichit adores skating through his performance than you clearly haven't watched the series. 

I have a record of crying every time I watch Phichit skate when I watched the episodes he was in for the first time. Every time. This one is no exception. 

The fact that the audience is shown to get very caught up in Phichit’s performance made me so happy? These people, who are all there to support the more popular skaters, are getting caught up in the dance of a skater who hadn't even been on their radar. 

After his skate was done, he was still RIDICULOUSLY PROUD AND SUPPORTIVE OF HIS FELLOW SKATERS EVEN IF THEY SCORED HIGHER THAN HIM

This performance showed how much you can glean from a person while watching them skate. And yes. I cried. 

Just.

His motivation for skating is so fucking clear. 

He wants to make his country proud.

And he does. 

The audience is rooting for Phichit, he gets the crowd hyped up and he delivers. 

He worked his ass off for this performance and it pays off

He nails all of his components and scores higher than he ever has

He is so confident that hes won and he WINS

HE FUCKING WINS

HE BEATS YUURI AND CHRIS AND LEO ALL OF WHOM WERE MAJOR CONTENDERS FOR THE GRAND PRIX 

HE WINS HIS FIRST GOLD MEDAL

AND AFTER THE ROSTELECOM CUP BECOMES THE FIRST THAI SKATER TO ADVANCE TO THE GRAND PRIX FINAL

HE??? IS SO GOOD

And that’s why it made me so mad when he lost the Grand Prix Final. 

Sixth. Place. 

I love the other skaters. I really do. But JJ did not deserve a bronze medal. He was way over scored and should have gotten last place. Phichit scored about as high as the previous years third place winner. JJ. 

His Shall We Skate made me hella emotional and sob along with him at the end. He is SUCH A GOOD SKATER. 

I never cried as hard during the entirety of YOI as I did during Phichit’s Terra Incognita performance. He was so happy to just be performing. Even after he messed up one jump he continued to smile. 

That is what makes a performer. 

Phichit entertains the audience. He holds their attention and gets them hyped up and on the edge of their seats. 

He has fun while he skates and just genuinely loves his sport.

The scenes he got outside of the competition made me happy at least, and some of the flashbacks provided some nice information and depth

and I may be really salty about his loss but i am SO PROUD OF HIM

I am going to quote something I said when I first made this blog. 

“Just by qualifying for the Grand Prix Finals, Phichit won. He may not have won a medal, but he achieved not only one of his dreams, skating “Shall We Skate” in a major competition, but also made history by becoming the first Thai skater to compete in the Grand Prix Finals. WE should all be extremely proud of him, and hopefully watch him continue to made his dreams reality in the next season!”

I stand by this statement fully and wholeheartedly. Yes, Phichit deserved to be placed higher, and yes, it was completely unfair. But lets be proud of what he did achieve, and appreciate him for the amazing character he is. 

tldr; Phichit is a wonderful character and I love him. Thanks for 500 followers!

Kris: sweet? Are we talking about the same Kuny? He taught Ava to cuss a ref and last time the media asked her what she thought of the game and my playing, she parroted that. I had a trending tag for a month after that on Twitter😔

NatNat: I’m not condoning it but it was hilarious. I cried. But seriously he adopted a cat and named her Aya and they send me selfies with her every 7 minutes. They built her a castle in their ridiculous bat cave game room. 😅👑🐱

Remus: the bat cave is awesome. They’ve got pro surround sound and all. And a real slushee machine. 🤖 also kris, coach want you all back on the ice in 10.

NatNat: yeah haha kase is excited to go for halo night. Apparently they’ve got some sort of new VR stuff for practicing as well. 🏒🏒🏒

Celeste: Kris, don’t worry about the curse words. Marc spent three months yelling fuck at everything after Logan accidentally taught him. They get over it quick and the fans love you even more after that - haven’t you been on the most eligible list for your entire career? Also, didn’t Anya tell Kuny’s mom?

Anyaismyname: da, and believe me, Scolding work better in Russian. And I promised her to look out for her boy.

Kris: thanks guys, I know. I was just shocked. She’s my baby and sometimes I just can’t handle how quick she grows... it’s not fair... and yeah, apparently a single dad with a travel heavy job is eligible. Weird.... also - the boys’ game room is amazing and they did set up a my little pony game for her last time on the projector. Be there in three Re!!! 🏃‍♂️

Celeste: mmh, that is always a big moment. I remember when I was pregnant with Adele, Pascal was still just settling into the Lions and we’d already moved twice, but something changed when we started working on the nursery. It got real then - he didn’t get the puck theme he wanted but nevertheless, I think that was when he really realized he was about to become a father 😍

Kris: Natalie do you think we could find a puppy for Ava? We could house train it during off season and she’s been begging for a puppy for a while and i really want one too and hopefully with a puppy the “I want a pony” phase can be forgotten! :)
