once again i am asking tumblr to hold public polls for users to vote on potential changes. imagine if you were the 'respect our users opinion website'. like that could be us but apparently not.

A while back I finally figured out how to use UBlock's element blocker and promptly went mad with power. Just now I turned off all my extensions to debug something and realized how much more useable it made everything. As soon as I see something annoying I open the Ublock popup, select the element picker, click the annoying thing, and (most of the time) the annoying thing is gone forever and I never have to think about it. So here's my shameless ad pitch for things you can do with it, other than the default "block ads":

Remove all of the UI buttons that are definitely useful for someone but that you're never going to use in your life

Remove UI buttons you use only once, like "register"

Hide the "Posts +" button in tumblr

Clear all of the information your credit card website tries to show you that you don't care about so that you can focus on the couple numbers that you do

Send those pop-up "do you want to chat!" notifications to hell, where they belong

Remove various website overlays

Remove specifically the calorie numbers on food delivery websites

Hide the comments and recommended videos sidebar on youtube

Hide promotions that an adblocker doesn't pick up on because they're native

Hide your facebook newsfeed (if you just use it for chat/events/groups)

Hide discord's sidebar when you just need one channel open and don't want to be distracted, and then unhide it when you want it back

Get rid of distracting moving elements on pages

Hide almost all of the elements on twitter except the actual tweet, if you only interact with twitter via other people's links and don't want to be sucked down the rabbit hole

Generally hide "Related!" or "See also" or "You might like!" type distractions on sites where you only want to see what you came there for, not browse

Remove all of the news from weather websites so that they can actually do their job and show you just the weather

Remove the footer text on websites no one ever reads

they're there to remind you to take your medication for it, if you have it. they help you form a healthy routine with it, they want to see you feeling better. they might even train you to have a positive association- maybe you get a kiss every time you remember?

freiren sounds so up my alley and the one thing that's holding me back from watching it is that I hate the costume designs.... this is not a freiren-exclusive problem i feel that way about most fantasy anime these days it just bothers me with freiren because otherwise i Want to watch it

#i have trouble putting the beef into words but here is an attempt: #the outfits feel too much like something you'd see someone wearing In Real Life and it breaks my immersion #this would be less annoying to me if it felt equal between male and female characters but the boy outfits feel more fantasyish #but it feels more pronounced with the girl characters #makes it feel like the goal was 'make them cute and fashionable by Anime Standards' was the primary goal #and 'character build or worldbuild via costume design' ws at best a distant second #i could abide Aesthetic First costume design if it was an aesthetic i like but i don't like the aesthetic theyre going for #feels overly cluttered with small details that feel very Modern to me #and also it always bugs me when it feels like a show defaults to Thighs Visible on Only the girl character designs #freiren does not seem particularly fanservicey and that almost makes it more grating for me #if it didn't Smack Of Gender it wouldnt bug me #if short shorts are an element of your fantasy setting why not have at least one dude wear em is all im sayin #anyway apologies to any freiren fans who stumble upon this post like i said it sounds good and i want to watch it #and am happy you can enjoy what i cannot #rambles

Watching the Sandman and so far it’s good and trying very hard to be faithful while also making the story more streamlined for Netflix but somehow that is making me Tense because the American Gods TV show was also good and faithful at first and then went TOTALLY off the rails and every frame of Sandman some part of me is thinking

April's Extra Credits Objective is Spring Cleaning, so I decided to clean out the clutter that was Diego's dorm. He'll be moving into a real house soon, so his place is going to be simple while keeping its Pirate theme in the meantime.

I used to be *extremely* into house decorating on W101 when I was a kid, but it's going to take some time + effort getting back to it. I figure starting on a clean slate and spring cleaning my P101 houses + dorms will be a good way to start!

P101's house decorating is definitely more...restrictive than W101's currently. I would still like to try and make it my goal to theme one of my houses in-game someday!

i officially have 3 cloud tats c: i felt v self-conscious abt the new additions bc my sister doesn't like them and there's a detail on one that didn't make it to the final piece (it was rly important to me but my shitty memory doesn't care for things like that, it seems. i can be v particular abt details but i guess i was super chill and fkg stupid that day), but i'm reaching the end of that initial devastation and getting back to feeling v happy abt the results. i got a trio of clouds on the left thigh, w the middle and biggest one looking more like a string of smoke. (it's a nice companion piece to the trio of clouds on my right thigh!) and the other tat is on my left calf: an all-weather cloud, with a sun, a rainbow, a thunder, raindrops and snowflakes. it's cute! just trust me!!

#i started this project like #3 weeks ago? #all i wanted was a spot to put new books because of the b&n opening up in town #and that lead to me spending... so much time in clearing out cluttered spaces #and so much money in getting another bookshelf AND a more functional dresser AND a hamper/hanging rack #my sister got my old one its not broken it was just literally collecting dust and junk in the corner. i wasnt using it #new dresser will be coming in this week so i had to get it done #i took out...... maybe 5? 6? full trashbags of just stuff i didnt need and clothes i never wore #i found things from a decade ago. theyre gone now #spring cleaning came early i guess #i dont know if ive got hoarding tendacies or if i just. put things in boxes and forgot about them. but i gotta do better about that #ANYWAY my room is clean now and ive done minimal rearranging but the stuff i did move has made A Difference #this is both better for my brain and better for when we move out in the ??? future #less stuff to sort and pack
