Sherbet curled up tightly against Jeff’s chest at all the sound. Gordon picked up on it before Jeff could open his mouth.
“Shhh, all of you!” Gordon’s hiss cut through the room like a knife. “We have a guest.”
That had every eye in the room landing on Jeff and the little bundle in his arms.
Gordon’s hands twitched and Jeff couldn’t help but smile. The fish was hopeless around animals…

could we possibly see a snippet of like a knife or dancing once again?
for sure! (neither of these are done and aren’t ready to be published)
dancing once again (chapter 3)
“Father,” and sweet Kwami his heart feels like it’s about to burst, “I need to tell you something.”
Gabriel makes a motion for Adrien to keep talking as he takes a sip of his wine.
Well, here goes nothing, “I’m bisexual.”
Gabriel downs the rest of his wine with an audible gulp and for a second there Adrien thinks that this is the end for him, that he’ll spend the rest of his days as an alley cat eating tuna cans people leave on the street for him.
Then, his father whips his head towards Nathalie until she huffs and stands up, cupping her hands around his ear.
She looks irritated, but Adrien has known Nathalie for so long that he knows shes not really upset, but thinking that his father is a dumbass.
“Adrien…” Gabriel coughs, “Nathalie wants me to tell you,” he’s cut off by Nathalie harshly pulling his ear. “Ow!”
Nathalie has no sympathy.
“I mean — Nathalie and I,” Gabriel braces for another jab that never comes, and then continues, “want you to know that we’re very proud of you for confiding in us, or, well me, about this. We love you no less because of it.”
like a knife (chapter ???) (this one is truly a snippet that just came to me, who knows if it’ll actually make it into a chapter.)
the little girl tugs at gabriel’s hand
“yes, naomi?”
naomi says something garbled, her mouth still shut as she pries open gabriel’s palm and then -
then the child spits into his hand.
gabriel’s jaw goes slack as he notices blood mixed with the saliva and the unmistakable feeling of what can only be a tooth.
his daughter just spit a tooth into his hand.
“my toof fell out,” naomi lisps before spitting out some more blood, “it hurts.”
nathalie didn’t prepare him for this.
