#let me just vent here real quick #it's been some time since full release bg3 came out and the vibes were rlly great #but recently I've been seeing more and more drama #like ppl getting mad at other people's opinions and hcs #and while some posts are rlly nicely informative about stuff others are just plain rude and mean like #man it just rlly puts a damper on things u know #like guys it's a game #it's for enjoyment #the characters aren't real #the actors are real people though #it'd just be nice if ppl could stop being shitty and just enjoy a game normally #like normally as in just dont be a fuckin asshat #and like it's cool when people take things from the game and make something bigger out of it #like hey this little thing actually shows this big thing and a lot of thought went into this #but sometimes i feel like some of these are unraveled a little too far and the deal is being made too big #idk im bad with words #i just want everyone to be happy and hold hands #:(

a/n: this is my first hc and idk if it’s obvious but i got kinda carried away wt it oof

idk why but he gives me business major vibes

tried on-campus dorming for like a semester before deciding that nope, he didn’t like it there, everything’s old and dusty and the concept of sharing his private space with a new stranger every year didn’t sit right with him.

ended up renting an apartment nearby and if he can’t afford the rent by himself then he’d probably make the offer to his friends (after a careful screening and asking himself if he can stomach seeing them everyday)

has preferred brands for pens and highlighters. he’s v particular and likes the consistency.

not much for study groups but likes studying alone in quiet coffee shops. he’d be the type to send his notes to ppl who ask for it in their class group chat but other than that he likes to keep to himself.

everyone’s either eager to have him as their groupmate or terrified of it. he’s good at what he does and getting grouped with levi means a guaranteed good grade, but god does he intimidate them with his high standards and blunt opinions.

plus he doesn’t exactly have the patience for freeloaders. he’ll call you out and kick you out of the group if you try to leech off others’ works.

so yeah people have mad respect for him but not without a dash of also being healthily terrified

but he’s still a heartthrob lbr. he’s good looking, smart, and unattainable. even tho his friends tease him a lot about it, he absolutely hates the attention and having to constantly reject people when they ask him out.

overall he’s still a typical college student who’s sleep-deprived and overworked. bless him.

bora’s mother wanted her youngest child, and only daughter, to be nothing short of prim and proper. and all her life, as much as she hated it, the young girl went along with it; going by her parents’ very traditional and outdated rules for her own personal safety. unlike her oldest brother, she hated every bit of it. and unlike her second oldest brother, yooseung, she knew how to keep it together and go with the flow for her survival in a house where their parents weren’t afraid of using extreme methods behind closed doors. 

bora was calm, collected, and despite being so restricted by rules, she did things her own way. she was a straight A student, especially in subjects that her peers hated. physics and chemistry were things she especially excelled at. although her teachers would accuse her of cheating on her tests because she was skipping classes whenever she felt like it. bora would respond saying that it wasn’t that hard for her to catch up. she had a talent for learning quickly, anyways. 

bora had a hard time being close to anyone in her family. she had a tendency of pretending to like her cousins or other family members just for the sake of keeping her ‘good girl’ reputation going. the only person in her family that she truly got along with was yooseung. the two shared secrets, had a similar sense of humor, and they even talked about how they both wanted to leave and live freely somewhere else. the latter happened for yooseung pretty soon, and he was away in california without taking bora with him. of course, she was upset about it at first, but she understood after a while. especially when he kept in contact and visited brooklyn sometimes. 

behind her polished facade, bora had a plan, and she needed to get on with it as soon as she turned eighteen. she was sick of living like this. she had a lot of money saved up; courtesy of her parents giving her a few bills whenever she said she didn’t have any lunch money. she could admit that as the youngest child, she was a bit spoiled. her dad could barely say no if she pouted. and she was packing up her things slowly but surely, keeping her bags hidden away until the day came for her escape.

no one could’ve seen it coming. bora was seen as the family’s good girl who was always on her best behavior. she was even expected to start working in her family’s business after majoring in one of the best universities in new york. but when everyone woke up, she was nowhere to be found. her things and her car had disappeared as well. her mother insisted on filing her as missing, but nothing could be done, because she was technically an adult now, and it was evident that she deliberately left on her own.

the amount of times i saw ppl read the Yharnam’s Awakening as “oh bloodborne is all just a dream uwu” or “this is the only good ending bc in the other ur stuck in the nightmare” makes me so fucking mad gndfmg “it was just a dream” theories drive me nuts and i hate them, but that aside it just feels like... the hunt is over. that’s it. but it’s over for YOU.  you’re free to leave Yharnam, but the city is doomed anyway. all the people you killed remain dead, the few survivors will deal with yet another hunt in the future, and that’s it.  you just wash your hands and leave.  it’s a good ending for the hunter, maybe, but for everyone else? it’s just the end of yet another nightmare that it’s bound to repeat itself again. all the graves in the Hunter’s Dream prove that a “Good Hunter” keeps coming, and everytime they’re killed by gehrman to put an end to their personal eternal night. it’s not that hard to see.

How I feel about this character

trooly the blueprint. i luv him a lot!!!! i rlly like how dimentio is fairly inactive for half the game- you face off the most w o'chunks n mimi, and mimi n L are these big involved chp bosses. dimentio sorta chimes in every now and then until the script just FLIPS in chp 6 and he just takes the reigns so suddenly- and everything is happening so FAST and he takes advantage of the chaos so so well. he starts by goading mimi n L to go against the count's orders, waits for them to do their part, meets up w L and makes sure he dispatches of him properly, meets up with the heroes and makes sure he dispatches of them properly as well. spm wouldn't b as interestingly structured w/o an unaccounted-for-factor like him. the way he works is always so fun n entertaining !! forever a delight even tho i don't talk abt him much... i do lov a chessmaster.

All the people I ship romantically with this character hmmm ! i sorta talked abt this before- i don't rlly ship my dimentio w anyone, but... im also not too passionate abt my take on him, so i appreciate when ppl try make dimigi work- in a way that gives dim’s chara room to play around w ! i think they're characters who deserve their dynamic being explored, esp since their relationship in-game is one of the most notable ones, along w peach/bowser and timpani/blumiere. they all preform such grand feats, it'd b a waste for me to sweep their dynamic under the rug just bc it's unconventional. so, while it may not b for me personally, it's def one im here to appreciate in som cases !

My non-romantic OTP for this character HMMMMM HM HM.....i wanna say... mimi, for however long it lasted. these two are the least compassionate of team bleck i'd say- and i feel like that kind of emotion stiffness is somn dimentio plays w when he's around w mimi. esppp since in my hc, they have a LOTT of history together that mimi can't quite remember, but it adds som substance to their interactions. they're bickering around one second, teaching the other how to levitate rubees, generally using magic foolery to nab w/e mimi wants from the mall. and then a few chapters later dimentio starts acting up and mimi is quick to notice. when dimentio picks on her it comes off more malicious and mimi isn't taking any of it and they both just CLASH AND. and. ok i guess this isn't as much of a brotp as it is a tragic, fleeting friendship. they're like. friends to enemies to bitterly thinking back on memories and being like 'yeah i hate his guts and never want to see that freak again but he was fun sorta....while it lasted. whatever' SOMN LIKE THAT.

My unpopular opinion about this character i don't think he's expressive at all. the spectrum of dimentio emotions goes from comic---->tragic and in extreme cases madly comic---->madly tragic. like, he has an image to retain ! i don't think he ever gets mad, even as a facade. he's two sides of a theatre mask and that's a big appeal of him to me.....that he's so fully immersed in his charming court jester shtick. i do think hes being fr when he says hes always deadly serious- i just think....he has a pure theatre soul. that's just what he embodies ! uncanny smiles and uncanny tears. uncanny man i lov u so.... anyway my point is i just don't think he gets. legitimately frustrated or angry. hes too pretty for that.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. NOTHING RLLY.... i can't think of anything aaah i like that he went out in a mystery like that. i like the note spm ended on so i'm fine w the amount of autonomy he had ;v;

I miss they days when crack pairings are left alone in fandoms. You pair them up with anyone you like then let them live happily ever after in your tiny amount of fanworks. Nowadays, you're hunted for that. You get slapped on with labels and slur for going against the popular ship. It's depressing. Sorry for unloading this on you. It's just that the AOT shippers are giving me YOI flashbacks lately. Getting hated on for my Bi!Yuuri+Historia HC and my straight ships/OT3 for them sucks.

It pisses me off too. I mean as long as shippers know those pairings have like no way in hell of making it into the story, or if they suspected they might, they treat it as a suggestion or hope on their part and don't let them cloud their vision of the actual resolution of the story, what's the big trouble with shipping for fun whatever you want? LOL i sailed from the YOI fandom too, but as my main interest was in other characters I never noticed any drama regarding viktuuri. I don't even like Yuuri that much, but him being bi is actually an upopular opinion???? Wtf???? He had a crush the size of the moon on Yuko. That's canon. Yes he was also head over heels for Viktor, but that doesn't mean his feelings for Yuko never existed.

As a bi woman I also tend to pretty much headcanon every single character as bi so I get where you are coming from. Historia a s bi girl? Wonderful. Some ppl prefer to think of her as a lesbian? That's great too! There's nothing wrong with that.

My problem comes when ppl ignore and actively erase the source material while trying to impose their view as canon. If someone says: hey Historia is straight in the source material tho Id laugh in their faces, bc we have actual textual evidence of her returning in some manner Ymirs feelings.

Sometimes I complain about shippers in snk. That's true. But only about the ones that don't realise what they ship and what's actually happening in the manga aren't automatically the same thing. Sure ship whatever you want. There's plenty of material in the manga for like 15 different ships. But that doesn't mean you have the right to go bother others shippers or getting mad at people who not only don't ship the same thing as you, but also just don't see your ship as an endgame, storywise.

Regarding hetero ships aaaah this is giving me Sherlock war flashbacks. Those poor sherlolly shippers, never bothering anyone and getting bullied by all those big johnlock blogs. What for? But if you want toxicity and delusional individuals well that fandom is the number one example.

also shiro doesnt get sidelined in the show, but his treatment in fandom is nowhere near as good keiths. keith joined the bom and everyones crying over their “"poor baby keith uwu”“ while ignoring the fact that shiro got tortured for a year and has possibly bee n cloned. and ive seen so much hate for shiro, because he was ”“"mean”“”. just say you hate asians! stop using my ethnicity to defend liking and hating all other characters for a (possibly, and very likely) white boy! OKAY so much of this ask is just… pure mood like… you hit so many nails on the head!! like keith being asian would be great but to just anyone watching? unless they suspect broganes being canon on their own, KEITH IS SOOO WHITE???  a fandom wide headcanon being largely accepted doesnt make it canon. i got into voltron because i was sick of fandoms that prioritized and glorified white boys and voltron was largely advertised by fans as having a nonwhite cast (aside from pidge) and i was like well…. no white boys lets go take a look!!! and for a long time despite no canon confirmation i really just assumed keith was ofc nonwhite when…. we don’t know, and where other characters have clearly been shown/coded their races, we all act like keith is a mystery when to the average viewer he… really isnt. like its insane. in the exact same damn situation!!!! in another fandom that prioritizes and glorifies a white boy!! pointing at keith and collectively saying “hes asian” doesnt make it canon anymore so than putting a shirt and shoes on a dog makes it a human. we’ve done so much work for advertising voltron to other like minded people looking for diversity its insane lmaooooo….

and youre so right abt people being so much more upset abt keith being gone than shiro!!! finding just regular shiro stans is so hard bc most of them are weirdos that either ship him with kids or just straight up fetishize and abuse him and its so awful… everyone acts like you have to ship him w someone to like him and thinking of him as a character is halted beyond that. 

like white ppl def get “well i like keith and hes not white so im not racist!!!” cred and try to use it when thats like. not how it works. its insane. and im not trying to call out ppl who hc keith as asian and create content w that in mind? i like keith a lot and i see him as nonwhite too but up to a certain point i just wish we’d be more critical, of ourselves and of the show, for being so keith centric without really remembering that his race isnt confirmed… and that to a lot of watchers it probably isnt even a question.
