here is my ranking of every umbrella academy musical moment!!

i lack proper word choice so you will be seeing the words “good” and “scene” repeatedly

spoilers below!!

1. run boy run - i knew this was gonna come in first the moment i started making this list. the first time i saw this scene i almost threw up bc it hit so hard. i think i’ve watched it over 50 times and it just hurts every damn time. there was never a more perfect song choice in the rest of the show. basically, this scene is the reason run boy run is my top song of the decade.

2. istanbul - no fight scene will ever top this. this song goes so well with the scene and for what? i get whiplash everytime i hear istanbul now

3. the walker - i love the bank scene with all my heart, it’s so fun and the song just works with it

4. saturday night - the way this song is introduced is SO GOOD!! i was in love with it. i used to watch the part where they all run in a line in the lines religiously

5. my way - i had a freak out when the umbrella academy account posted this and then i watched it and freaked out even more. watching the siblings come together to use their powers and doing it with this song playing was perfect, especially the part when the bombs dropped

6. in the heat of the moment - what can i say, i’m a sucker for scenes of five in the apocalypse. i don’t know why i like this scene so much but it might be the song. anyways

7. mary - THIS SCENE IS SO SAD HGSDAGHJ first time i cried watching umbrella academy… and the song is so fucking good

8. the order of death - this scene gave me goosebumps i stg it’s so good

9. golden brown - i fell in love with this scene and this song the first time i watched it and i really can’t explain why. it just hits different

10. soul kitchen - i love this scene so much that it hurts. i hate saying this but the vibes are off the charts. until dave fucking dies

11. kill of the night - i love five that’s all i have to say

12. right back where we started - i love how they did this! the song choice + the way they displayed the years was great

13. all die young - sad montage #3 this scene HITS and i can’t explain why

14. i’m a man - diego and reginald fighting was something i didn’t know i needed to see

15. hazy shade of winter - just reminds me of umbrella academy so it must be ranked high

16. sinnerman - just goes so damn hard i love it

17. i think we’re alone now - one of those scenes where everyone loves it but i just don’t as much? i still enjoy it but it’s not my fav. ranked high just because it’s iconic lol

18. memory bound - such a good song and i love watching diego and klaus bond/fight to it. really fits the scene too

19. sister of pearl - my smile gets so fucking big when i watch this part i love ben so m much and the song works so well

20. phantom of the opera medley - slaps so hard such a good scene

21. twistin’ the night away - aww cute i loved this

22. pepper - was def not expecting this scene but i loved it

23. this year’s love - rlly gonna make me cry like that huh, song is kinda basic though

24. picture book - fun intro, good song

25. comin’ home baby - so fun i love it and the song fits

26. sunny - the transitions in this scene are god tier also klaus having a sugar mommy lmao

27. rocket fuel - i really like this scene?? idk why

28. happy together - good cover idk what else to say i just enjoy it

29. renegade - would’ve loved to see this as a five fight scene but this was great too

30. i was made for lovin’ you - cool fight cool song

31. shingaling - underrated this scene is so good

32. never tear us apart - also makes me sad but not as much as run boy run - still a great scene

33. hold on, i’m comin’ - i love seeing allison use her power and this song fits really well

34. polk salad annie - this was really conflicting bc five killing the commission is one of my favorite scenes of the whole show but i don’t really like the song so it goes in the middle

35. sunshine, lollipops and rainbows - again with the upbeat songs to fight scenes and it works so well, especially with the setting they’re in

36. everybody (backstreet’s back) - i also didn’t know where to put this one. great scene i just wish they would’ve used this song in a different scene with all of the siblings fighting

37. lost woman - cute lil vanya in a cute lil montage. i did enjoy seeing all of the siblings reading her book

38. here comes the end - again love the song just wish it was somewhere else

39. major tom - i like the song with the scene but i don’t care that much about pogo’s backstory

40. love is blue - solid scene

41. exit music (for a film) - sad montage #1! don’t get me wrong i love radiohead and this song but i guess it just didn’t hit as hard as it could’ve

42. don’t stop me now - don’t kill me i just didn’t really enjoy this specific song with the scene,, i did like this fight though

43. one - cool song but i hate harold. also could’ve easily been a luther song

44. i’ll never do you wrong - actually kind of made me sad

45. lundi matin - i really enjoyed this for some reason

46. dancing in the moonlight - cool scene if you can get past the fucking incest

47. we’re through - i really like this song there’s just not much of a scene to go with it

48. in hell i’ll be in good company - i don’t have much to say about this but the song slaps

49. won’t be long - allison + aretha franklin is a good combo

50. hello - THIS MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD SORRY!!! it wasn’t the cover itself, the cover was great, it was just the scene as a whole

51. crazy - the cover just felt like a weird choice to me

52. bibbidi-bobbidi-boo - cool i just didn’t really care

53. stay with me - baddie cha-cha also i love mary j. blige

54. dancing with myself - clever little shits

55. mad about you - sad montage #2 that’s all i have to say

56. unwind yourself - funny but i don’t care for the song

57. barracuda - i like the song but i don’t think it was needed

58. blood like lemonade - there’s nothing wrong with the scene but the song kinda annoys me sometimes

59. goody two shoes - it’s fine lol i don’t really have many thoughts

60. they call me a fool - visit i’ll make it easy

61. i’ll make it easy - i never even remember when this plays but i know that the song is fine

62. bad guy - i’m so sorry i just did not like this song choice

63. stormy weather - emmy did so good i just don’t really care for it

64. something on your mind - this song pisses me off and you can barely hear it lol

65. (feels like) heaven - i actually love this song so putting it down here hurts but it just plays on the radio

66. wicked games - i hate this song so much

Special Scenario - MINO “Fiancé” part 2

I’m back with part 2, it took long enough lol but I hope you enjoy <33

Word count: 2.202

Mino’s POV

After I left the building and stared as she went her way I felt as if the world had stopped completely, maybe I haven’t even fully processed what had happened inside that elevator; it’s like I’ve waited for this moment for so long and now that it happened I don’t even know what to do with myself.

I saw a taxi pull over and a lady came out so I rushed to get to it before it took off. As I sat down in the car and the driver asked me where we were going I kind of stuttered before the adress to my studio just rolled out of my mouth.

The ride wasn’t long and it wasn’t expensive. I got off and entered the building where my studio was located, I greeted the doorman and entered yet another elevator, as soon as I did the memories rushed back and it hit me...I had kissed my ex who I’ve been in love since my school days and in a few days she is going to be someone else’s wife. I laughed out of dispair, I remember this one night specifically which we were at a park and we were laying on the bench and we told each other that we’d get married for sure when I made enough money as a rapper...at least one part of it came true.

I got off the elevator and walked to my door, typed the passcode and finally was in my safe haven, I could now be myself and just let every and any feeling pour out. I saw a pen and doodled over a paper going through the scene one more type and the word 'fiancé’ kind of come out in the paper and I added ‘my’ in front of it and chuckled at how childish that look so I said the words out loud and a depressed feel came along, it was funny and sad.

I started working on the beats I was producing for my new album but for the past 2 hours I have been doing that all of them sounded like trash to me. I stretched my arms and the paper came into my field of vision, the words “my fiancé” written down and a melody hit me.

I stood up and went over to the piano playing some lines trying to give life to what was in my head, when I got the base down I went back to the computer and started adjusting and adding more things. I came across this old folk song and it was like it tied everything together, so I sampled it and worked it into the base from the piano.

After a few hours I had the whole melody down and I loved it, now it was time to figure out with the lyrics. As I was getting ready to go into that I got a call, Zico’s name popped up in the screen and I picked up.

“Oh, yes Hyung..What’s up?” I said.

“Mino-ya, what are you doing?” He asked.

“At the studio” I replied and he laughed.

“Yah, go out and get some air, you’re there everyday” I laughed at his advice.

“Look who’s saying that” I laughed more “Ah, that was funny...yes hyung I’ll do that”

“You better!” He warned in a joking tone “I’m hanging up now, bye”

“Bye hyung, take care” I said.

Even though I’d love to do exactly what he told me to I just couldn’t stop now, I was in the zone and don’t want to get out of it and I’m sure he is the one who’d 100% understand that so I went back to my lyrics.

On the same doddled paper I started by writing random words, the process of creating lyrics was harder than the beats because it hss to rhyme, it has to go well with the melody and it need to make sense whilst the beat is more of a feeling.

Two hours went by and all I had were doddles and the same two words. The sky was dark and I knew I had been in there for too long. Maybe it was time for fresh air and some food, I realized I hadn’t eaten since I left the restaurant earlier.

I left the studio room and made my way to the elevator while stretching my back, after hours sitting it sure was aching. I pressed the button and the doors opened, I entered and was about to go on my phone, just when I unlocked the scene hit me and the sentence “stop playing around and just be with me” came into my mind and the doors were about to close so I frantically pressed the button to open the door and ran back to my studio.

I sat down and picked up the pen writing down that sentence and from then on the rest just rolled out. My handwriting looked like shit because my thoughts were moving faster than my hands could move but in like 15 minutes I had the lyrics down.

Now all that’s left is recording the lyrics and add it on top of the beat.

I started recording it but it wasn’t sounding right. I took several breaks and walked in circles around the room trying to figure out the tone, nothing. I listented to the beat again and again, but still it wasn’t right. Honestly, this wasn’t just a song, I was sending a message, it was my answer to this fucking marriage and I wanted her to get it as soon as she listened to it.

I sat there in deep thought fow a while and I started mumbling the words until I finally got how the chorus would sound, so I started from there and the excitment from that part being just right led me to recording the rest of the song.

I was almost 7AM when the demo was complete. I hadn’t had any sleep, but the song was ready and I wanted to get it to YG as soon as I could. I didn’t care I looked like shit, I just got inside a taxi and head over to YG building.

I went up to the producers room and told them I had something good for the next realease. So I played the demo on my phone and by the look on their faces, I did great.

“Mino ya, this is a single, really” one of the producers said.

“Yah let’s take it to president Yang” The other one added.

“wah, I’m so glad you liked it, I worked on it all night” I smiled.

“Yeah, we can see” We all laughed.

They then called in his office to schedule a meeting and while that was being taken care of by the secretaries we all went to the cafeteria to eat something and a meal was indeed much need because I was running on coffee since yesterday.

“Yah mino, you need to watch your health” one of them said as we were eating.

“yes you need to listen to your hyungs” the other added.

“yes yes” I said while bowing in apology.

We finished the meal and were hanging out at their studio room when the president called us up to his office.

Once we got there the receptionist said we could enter the room as he was already waiting for us.

“Oh, Mino! How you’ve been?” YG greeted me.

“Hello! I am good” I bowed.

“Glad to hear! So, I’ve heard from these guys that you have something good for me, let’s hear it” He said and I immediately pulled out my phone and played the song.

The room was quiet for about 30 seconds before YG gave that smile he has when he likes something and I could finally breathe again.

“This is good material, Mino, really” He said “That’s a single” He complemented and I smiled a bit flustered with the compliment.

“Thank you, Presindent” I bowed.

“Of course, few adjustments here and there and it’ll top the charts for sure” YG remarked “Actually, let’s release a full album” After he said that my soul left my body and came back, a full album? Is he serious? Has he gone insane?

“P-President, is this a joke?” I asked innocently.

“Of course not” He laughed “You’re surprised, right? Well, you’re one of our greatest artists, you always bring good material both solo and for WINNER, so I want to give you the chance. Do you think you can do it?” He finished and looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

“Of course I can! Thank you so much, Presidente, for this opportunity I promise I’ll do good” I bowed and was sincerely moved by the trust he was putting in me. I have waited for this chance for a long time and knowing the President of the company trusts me enough to realeae a full album is amazing.

We left the room after chatting for some more about group activities and producing for others artists and I was on cloud 9.

The next two months went by so quickly, I was in meeting after meeting, recording after recording, everything to get this album to perfection. There was going to be 12 songs that I, myself, composed and produced.The work I put into this was immense I couldn’t wait to put it out there for my fans to listen and for her. I also filmed a music video and the preparation was exhausting, but this meant more than just awards and charts, I kept thinking that if I couldn’t relay this message to her with words I’d do it through art, which is the one thing that might have kept me from sinking low after the news that the one and only woman I’ve ever loved will soon carry another guy’s last name.

The wedding was a month away now and the single realese date was due to two weeks before the cerimony. I peeked at the date engraved on that envelope “10/12/2018″ I still couldn’t wrap my head around it and even if I buried myself in work that kiss was what started it all. The questions in my head kept me up at night and she was all I could think about. “Is this how this it’s going to end? Is this a “the one that got away situation”? What if she still loves me and is waiting for me to say something? If so, what can I say?” It was like this all day everyday and I got absolutely no answer whatsoever.

26/11/2018 came and the music video was released, I was pumped but the whole time I keep thinking about what she was thinking and then an idea came to my mind. I grabbed my phone and copied the link to the video and searched through my contacts until I found who I was looking for, hers.

I sent the link along with no context, if I did all this so my art could speak for me then there were no words that I could say to her and after all the years we’ve known each other, I know she’ll get it, she always gets it because she, like no one else, gets me.

Sooo, it took me long enough so I made up for it with a long part and I didn’t want to say anything but there is room for a part 3 idk you guys let me know...

Anyways, hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing <33 I promise not to take 2 years to update this lol,

Flint

4. If they could learn one spell that isn’t available to them at present, which spell would it be?

Magic in their setting is a little different, and these questions are dnd centric, but I think I can still answer this! Flint would probably be VERY interested in divination magic, of any kind. So spells that could divine futures, locate objects, or show hidden things.

9. Do they care about their appearance? How much effort do they put into presentation?

In public, appearance is a top priority. They mingle with plenty of people whenever they can, and it's important to them that they give others a good first impression, so Flint's grooming is off the charts compared to most people.

When they're crawling around in the ancient dust of a tomb, however, the way they look isn't nearly as important as grabbing as many valuable burial goods as they can!

10. How often do they lie? What situations cause them to be dishonest?

Flint's no saint, and lies plenty enough to prove it. Most of the time it's white lies to spare feelings or to get out of doing something, but the bigger lies come when people probe about their past. It's pretty obvious they don't want people to know about who they used to be, and the bigger the secret the bigger the lie they tell to keep others off their tail.

12. Have they ever been in love?

Plenty of times! Enough to count on a few hands. It's infatuation that strikes them most often, but they have been serious on occasion too.

13. What do they dislike about themself? Why?

They dislike how weak they can often be, as well as how easy it is to take advantage of them sometimes. It drives them to take the easy way out of difficult situations no matter the cost.

14. What is something they love about themself?

They love their body! All the little details from the way their hair curls, the blue of their eyes, their stature, etc. They're very comfortable, proud, and happy being themselves!

I think this is the first character I've ever made who wouldn't want to change anything about their body for any reason :'D

17. What do they dream about, when their dreams are their own?

Beyond gold and riches, they dream about travelling to destinations both new and old, discovery, and about what stories they'll tell when they're old.

23. How do they feel about nicknames, titles, or labels that have been given to them? How do they feel about their name?

Nicknames are encouraged, but only between close friends and significant others! They don't have any titles or labels because they're not quite that infamous. Everyone who knows them refers to them by their first name, and that's what they're comfortable with because it's what they're used to!

As for how they feel about their name, they don't have strong opinions either way. It's the name they grew up with so they can't just toss it aside, but it has bad things attached to it as well. I'd say they think it's a ledger of all their (mis)deeds, and that's about it.

27. How do they mourn?

They carry on. But they swear to do better.

42. What are three words they would use to describe themself?

Confident, gorgeous, and amicable!

44. What do they need to learn?

To stop sticking their nose into trouble.

50. Can they sing? Can they dance?

Yes, Flint can sing and sings often! They will occasionally busk for lodging funds if they are ever scarce a few dollars, and have a very soothing voice that ensures at least a few people will toss them some coins. As for dancing, it's not something they're interested in, but you could always coax it out of them you can promise you'll be a good dance partner :)c

56. What animal do they most relate to?

Probably a dog? Fiercely loyal and trusting, but with a good nose (figuratively) for who they should let in on their vulnerabilities to.

57. What makes them angry?

Injustice, and the ideology that law and order outweighs the importance of the human condition.

59. What is a quiet passion of theirs?

While not exactly quiet, they have a passion for music! Singing and playing the guitar is one of their favourite pastimes.

61. What kind of flower would they choose to pick from a meadow?

This is impractical, and they also aren't exactly found in meadows, but they would go for sunflowers. Something big and bold and bright!

63. What fight has scared them the most?

They haven't gotten there yet in the story I'm building around them, but any fight where someone almost dies and they're powerless to help is always terrifying! :^)

67. What makes them laugh?

Clever jokes, outrageous stories, and the thrill that comes from doing something dangerously stupid and getting away with it.

Tangle

3. What is their goal right now?

Two things: serve their unfathomable god to the best of their abilities, and get sweet, delicious revenge on the fishermen that almost killed him. The former is his current priority, because he knows he has plenty of years to hunt down his would-be murderers. Revenge is a dish to be savored :3c

5. Do they follow a higher power? What are their thoughts on divinity?

Before he met his patron the only thing he was concerned about was surviving. There's no time for gods when you're eking out a poor life in some nowhere village, after all!

After meeting his patron, there is honestly nothing in this world he could devote more time and attention to. So their relationship with higher powers and divinity etc all are attached by one string to a single entity!

11. What skills are they proficient in? Why?

Arcana, religion, and insight for obvious reasons! However he's also proficient in intimidation, because while he may look like a sweet boy he's actually kind of creepy (in an insane cultist kind of way), and that's sufficiently off putting enough that he can be rather intimidating.

18. Do they see themself as a leader or a follower?

lmao… definitely a follower.

21. Do they follow their head, their heart, or their body?

HMMM, I am not too sure about this yet, but probably his heart! He seems like he would be easily emotionally driven.

30. What do they seek out from others?

Open-mindedness! People who would be -cough- willingtosubmittotheoldgods -cough- -cough- I mean, people who won't judge him for his faith.

40. Do they enjoy poetry?

Nope! Not that he's had any exposure to the arts, though. I guess it would be more accurate to say he doesn't have an opinion :'D

44. What do they need to learn?

That he's not special, and his devotion to his god means barely a thing. He has in his mind this idea that he's some kind of glorious, special vessel through which his patron does its dark bidding, but in reality he's just a pile of meat labeled "minion." Until he learns that awful truth, he's got an ego about his position.

51. What is the most beautiful thing in the world, for them?

The rotten bones of shipwrecks stuck deep in the sand. They're a good source of materials, a home for the night, and they make lovely silhouettes against stormy seas.

59. What is a quiet passion of theirs?

It's done out of necessity, but they enjoy sewing up and mending clothes!

61. What kind of flower would they choose to pick from a meadow?

Nothing specific, just any bud or bloom he can find :'D

64. Do they value mercy or justice more?

Probably justice! Although he's indifferent to things that happen to others, he is technically seeking justice for what happened to him, in his own… special way.

Cadma

11. What skills are they proficient in? why?

Athletics, performance and acrobatics because he's an active, swole boi! As well as that he's proficient in stealth and slight of hand because he is a smooth criminal, and he's also proficient in religion for a reason I cannot fathom or remember the reason for.

19. What haunts them? What doesn’t?

Like most of my characters… the past lol… specifically, the people he's abandoned on a whim, and more pressingly his former captain, who kind of wants to spill his guts :')

What doesn't haunt him is his decisions to leave. In every instance he's left people he's found himself in a grander adventure, and he's thankful and at peace with those life decisions!

Essentially, he has the mentality that people only stay in your life for part of the journey. There’s no such thing as a lifelong partner or friend, so while he does remember people he’s left behind he thinks that charting his own course in life is more important that unbreakable bonds.

30. What do they seek out from others?

Damn good company! If you're an interesting person in any capacity Cadma will probably take a shine to you. He can't stand a stagnant lifestyle, and wants to surround himself with people who will bring adventure into his life.

36. What’s a secret they’ve kept?

It's not exactly a huge secret or anything, and anyone with eyes can tell because he has scales, but Cadma is very hush hush about his dragon ancestry and blood. It's caused him no end of troubles and he'd really rather people see him as a person rather than the inheritor of a rare bloodline.

48. What do they see in their future?

Adventure, and lots of it. Maybe a couple near death experiences too, which he is not so keen on but it comes with the job :')

53. Which is more frightening to them: day or night?

Night. Visibility is low and it's too quiet. Fires burn too bright. You have to let your guard down eventually.

It's not a fun time.

64. Do they value mercy or justice more?

Definitely mercy! Cadma believes in second chances, and sometimes thirds. He's needed his fair share of them, so everyone else deserves chances too

69. How would they describe their party members?

Good fun and better friends! He's never been with people so easy to latch onto emotionally, and MAN is he attached to them…

favorite album friday

happy friday, all you chickens!

i wanna start today by giving a special shout out to @thepunkmummy and @theoldsmelly for helping me out a couple times this week getting shows queued up for you guys, as i am caring for a cat at the end of her life, and i have been erratically available. thanks you guys, i love you.

which segues nicely into something else we love....these three albums. two from 1980, and one from 1986. i know all y’all are shocked by that.

let’s start with the oldest of the three, and @thepunkmummy‘s pick, prince’s ‘dirty mind’.

Dirty Mind is the third album by Prince. It was released on October 8, 1980, by Warner Bros. Records as the follow-up to his self-titled second album, Prince, (1979). Produced, arranged, and composed mainly by Prince in his home studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota throughout 1980, and several of the songs were cut in one night, giving them a sparse, demo-like quality. next is an album that came out merely a month later, visage’s visage, chosen by @theoldsmelly.

Visage is the eponymous debut studio album by the British new wave band Visage (featuring steve strange and midge ure). It was recorded at Genetic Sound Studios in Reading, Berkshire and released on 10 November 1980 by Polydor Records. Visage was released on 10 November 1980. It reached No. 13 in the UK and was certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry in March 1981. "Fade to Grey" was released as a single and became a hit, reaching No. 8 on the UK Singles Chart and Top 10 positions in Europe, including No. 1 in Germany and Switzerland. honestly, there is so much info out there about this album, because of how monumental it is, i am just gonna not even bother....i hadn’t known that about NME listing it as the greatest of all time, but i am close to agreeing. i have loved this album in it’s entirety since it’s arrival as a gift for my 13th birthday. of course my brother got it for me, and immediately commandeered it to make a copy, lol. as far as i am concerned, there is a light that never goes out for me and this album. true love lasts forever.

1: Do you ever wish you were someone else?

~ tbh yeah,, like I wanna be the person I am on the inside,, I want my outsides to mirror my insides and just let everyone know who I am no hiding or making excuses any more,, I want people to look at me and be inspired to be themselves,, to love themselves,, and to just love me (if that’s the kind of relationship that specific person has with me)

2: What is your full name?

~ Nikita “Magnus” Nickerson (Magnus is a placeholder middle name for now,, I like it but also I think I might wanna change it to something else I dunno yet)

3: How old are you and how old do you get mistaken for?

~ I’m 19 currently and I get mistaken for either 16 or 21/22 with no in between

4: Have you ever dyed your hair?

~ finally I can answer yes to a question like this !!! it was semi-perm but omg I dyed it teal and my mom’s gonna let me do a mystery color sometime soon (it’s a surprise what color :3)

5: What’s your eye color?

~ deep brown,, like deeeeeppppp brown omg ppl used to make fun of me because I had “black,, demon eyes” and I was really good at staring contests when I was younger

6: Your opinion about your body and how comfortable you are with it?

~ honestly it varies sometimes I’m super indifferent to the body I have and other times I’m super insecure and want to get rid of my body,, but I am doing better about it and I’m glad my body gets me from place to place

~ I don’t currently have any tattoos (but watch tf out when I have money I have So many planned lol) and I’ve had my earlobes pierced since I was 6 months old and I’m planning to get some more piercings

~ I’d be willing to try but tbh it’s hard enough trying to date someone you met in person

~ yes,, many times

~ honestly,, I get crushes ridiculously easy if you’re nice to me for a while and show affection in an exuberant way,, and that typically deepens until one day I’m sitting there looking at that person when they’re telling me something they are So excited over and they have stars in their eyes and my face goes soft and I look at them like they hung the sun,, moon,, and stars just for me and it hits me like a freight train that I might just love this person and it doesn’t have to be romantically or sexually,, I just feel for people I’m close to very deeply and it might be pathetically easy to win my heart but goddamnit I’m soft and love a lot ❤❤

32: What turns you on?

~ a lot of different things actually,, like sometimes if the person I like is physically bigger than me and they need me to stand or sit a certain way and they position me just the way they need,, that’s umm,, Hot af,, although I act mad at the manhandling lol,, and oh god if they’re Big and they pin me with an intense stare and like loom over me (maybe with me against the wall aksksk 😍),, also my neck is like Very sensitive like to the point that if you lightly blow against it I full body shudder,, y’all don’t know how distracting it is when your crush is hugging you and telling you something important but you can’t listen because every word is a puff of air against your neck so you just close your eyes and hope to god your subconscious is actually retaining the info (oh god I just had a Thought,, if someone pinned me to the wall by my throat and then kissed me breathless while pressing close enough my gasping brushes our chests together and then kissed my neck with either tenderness or ferocity I’d probably fucking self combust on the spot),, to go along with that I Love Love Love neck kisses so much (y’all probably know too much about that by now lol),, y’all I’m just really into mouths,, lips,, teeth,, tongues are all just very top teir,, oh fuck,, flexing muscles get to me so much,, like cross your arms in front of me and I won’t look at your eyes because mine will be glued to those fucking arms,, god fuck thigh riding is the dream here 😍😍,, okay I’m gonna stop myself here but it’s easy to turn me on sometimes and hard other times (that greyasexual life)

~ okay let me honest here,, as much as I like tongues and all they can do ;),, I don’t really enjoy french kissing (maybe that’s my last ex’s fault,, his kisses were just so Wet) like I much prefer those open-mouthed kisses with minimal tongue,, and people who are rude and assholes for no reason are like huge turn-offs no matter how attractive they are,, also I hate those people who like desperately want to be doms but they just become like overbearing,, lowkey abusive,, and highly annoying,, tbh most of this list is gonna be shit my ex did because it was all so Unsexy in hindsight

34: Do you get jealous easily?

~ imo not really,, like I might be jealous after a while if the person like after telling me that we would be spending time together alone and they didn’t really follow through like bringing another person along and focusing on them the whole time or focusing on a stranger overly much but I don’t really like feeling jealous because I don’t like forcing myself on people if it seems they are happier doing what they’re doing and I can’t control people only myself so I typically try and redirect any jealous thoughts,, if its like a constant thing tho I’d definitely talk to that person

35: What is your definition of cheating?

~ well for starters,, I don’t consider hugging other people or spending time with them cheating,, I guess I would define cheating for me personally is if the person knowingly hides a deep emotional/physical relationship with another person,, like say I was dating a person and then I found out they were spilling their fears and dreams with another person and telling me nothing or barely anything I’d be a little upset,, but also you can’t expect your s/o to talk to you and only you,, everybody needs and deserves a support system,, or if I found out they were having sex or taking another person out on dates without my knowledge,, like if they just talked to me and explained everything before they started anything they might find I’m open to accommodating them

~ for me,, this varies from person to person,, but there comes a point no matter the person that I will drop their ass (that’s what I get for having 7 earth signs with 5 of them being Taurus in my birth chart)

~ yes

~ every fucking day,, mainly all day every day no joke,, I spent my entire senior year of hs with at least one headphone in blasting music to keep myself calm (I’m baby from baby driver essentially),, music is everything to me truly

~ the first concert I ever attended was a Goody Grace concert (y’all check my boy out I love him) it was lovely and it really woke something up in me in regards to frantically trying to plan visits to concerts now lol

~ honestly,, I’m pretty sure I’ve watched at least one movie after this one,, but the last movie I remember watching is Aquaman a few weeks ago

~ I went through a period of self-harm for 9 years and I still struggle with craving those feelings a lot and when I relapse I feel like shit,, I’m better about talking about it through like texts or whatever it’s really hard for me to talk about it out loud,, I get really fucking choked up and kinda teary sometimes

~ for the most part,, yeah,, I’ve bottled up my feelings and problems for so long I’ve gotten quite good at not showing everything I’m feeling,, but lately,, I’ve been trying to go against that and show what I’m feeling when around people that care for me

~ love? I don’t know about that but I get infatuated really easily,, I have a hard time identifying love and how it feels to me so I don’t realize I love someone until it smacks me in the face

~ this depends on what the person is asking for forgiveness for,, but there comes a point where nothing they say or do could possibly get me to forgive them,, like sometimes you just have cut ppl off

What Makes Me Happy?

In no particular order, the following list is comprised of various things that will inevitably make me happy! If any of them would make you smile too, let me know and I just may send ya something! Enjoy!

1. (Animal Style) Cheeseburgers. Oh. My. Gawwwd, gworl. Any time of day, any day of the week, a cheeseburger (Animal Style) will put me in a better mood. And if I’m already in a good mood, one of these precious lil thangs will only make me happier. And ready for a nap. From the buttery, lightly toasted bun, to the chunky spread, && all the way through to the bottom bun, it’s a penny from Heaven. The Animal Style I speak of is not some dirty variation that cannot be spoken of at the dinner table- its grilled onions, extra pickles, + a mustard-grilled patty. Now that sounds basic but considering how basic and boujee In-N-Out already is, any variation could only make it better! 2. My Framily. That’s a combo of friends + family that I learned from some trivial cellphone commercial way back in the day. My nieces and nephews are a delight to be around, hear about, and just think of on a bad day. I’m blessed to be their Titi and I hope my kids are as cool as they all are. My siblings. A hoot. A riot. A ball. And the youngest one- she doesn’t get a title but she is just as important. LOL. But they encourage me && inspire me && if I’m ever feeling down, they are there to pick me right back up. Or tell me to pick my own fat a** up because they ain’t gonna do it.

Bonus: My friends! They’re the FR part of family. I call my main squad the A-Team: Ali, Asia, Ashley, and Ashley. Those friends make me feel like a magical, ethereal unicorn when life has me beat down and feeling like a jackass.

3. Listening to music! Just the other day (Monday the 13th, actually) I discovered this artist that my sister has been trying to put me on for months: 6lack. (http://www.free6lack.com) She says “black“, I say “six-lack”, we both say he has really soothing and cool music. He falls into this new genre that most call trap R&B. Also currently loving Khalid, Molly Bang, and Daniel Caesar. A staple in my music arsenal is the talented, top of the charts, too cool for high school (he dropped out) crooner.¦.THE WEEKND. He holds a special place in my heart as his music helped me out of a very dark place in my life and… I met him. And he said he loved me. So {{the weeknd}}, along with other amazing artist make me VERY happy.

4. Netflix Binges!Who doesn’t love a good session on the couch or propped up in the bed, going through episode after episode after 2 A.M., chocolate-fudge eating episode of a good Netflix series!? It’s a Godsend, honestly. And the only thing that would make it better is if they added maybe 5 or 6 of those AWESOME Black shows from the 90s/early 2000s. Sister, Sister. Living Single. Smart Guy. Girlfriends. One on One. Any of those would suffice. All would be best. *mic drizzop*

5. Praise dancing!. Whether it’s watching the children of !Wayside Christian Church!, catching a holy ghost-filled baby on YouTube, or creating && performing a piece with my ultra-talented baby sister. I love to watch people honor && glorify the Lord through dance. Dance is something that is just about as old as time. Native groups danced to bring rain && fertilize their lands. African indigenous people danced to celebrate the earth && what it had given them. And now, we dance to give praise to God. Kind of all sounds the same when you think about it.

**Bonus: God. All by Himself. Thinking of God’s grace and mercy that has covered me all my life && that brings me joy like nothing I’ve ever known. To be loved by God is a greater love than any human could match.

6. Being appreciated makes me hella happy. Is this a bit shallow? Yes. But is it true for me and you? Probably so. It feels really good on the inside to hear someone tell you how happy you make them && how grateful they are for you. As someone who has battled low self-esteem in the past (yesterday), reminders of how worthy I am of my place on earth or how much of an impact I have on someone else’s life make a WHALE of a difference in my day.

7. Tacos! Hard shell. Soft shell. Street style. Tex-Mex style. Asada. Chicken. Lingua. Sour cream. Guacamole. Tomatoes. I LOVE TACOS. And yes, they make me happy. While I’ve already mentioned my most *favorite* food item, this is definitely a close 2nd.. It’s a cultural gift that we are forever grateful to our Southern family for.

8. Hugs make me happy. A good squeeze from someone who cares about you or a bonding end to a great encounter with a stranger, hugs are something we often overlook. I live alone so I don’t do as much hugging as I’d like. I talk to people every day, sure, it’s a part of my job. But do I interact && receive that warmth + security that is offered with a hug? HECK NO! So when I get a good hug, I appreciate it. And it makes me so happy!

9. Nerdy Black Boys. Oh the joy that THEY bring! Whew! Everyone has their preference + type && sure there are a rainbow of men that make give me heart eyes emojis but something about a darkskinded brotha telling me about a new anime or his favorite character to use in Overwatch really makes my ovaries scream. In my 30 years, I have not met a *ton* of hot, Black nerds who are in to gaming, mangas, and the like so when I meet one, it makes me EXTREMELY happy.

10. WRITING! Bet ya weren’t expecting that one, were ya? Blogging. Journaling. Leaving silly comments on Facebook. All of those things (except the last one, I kid) make me happy! I love expressing myself in the written form, whether it be typed or handwritten. It’s a way of communication that people have lost respect for. I also enjoy writing books. A new chapter or an A-ha” moment in a fantastic short story will make me smile for hours on end. It is the delight in my own brilliance that gives me that smile.

Fencer! I got curious, so I want to ask you... Could you rank the sports anime you've watched from favorite to least favorite? You don't need to take the objective quality of the show into account, just tell me which ones you think had the best ships/characters/hype.

So, in order of shows I enjoyed the most (for reasons of art quality, story quality, characters and ships) to the least in the ‘sports anime’ genre would be:

Yuri!!! on ICE / Hikaru no GO (tied for first, sorry!)Free! (season 1)Haikyuu!!Prince of TennisWhistleBattery

YOI and HikaGo topping my charts should be a no-brainer: intelligent storytelling with tension and an amazing cast of characters. They’re both non-traditional sports anime (some would argue hey, a board game isn’t a sport, but there were tournaments and national titles and careers on the line--it was a ‘game’ as much as any baseball or tennis match is a game) that balance out the story of the characters with the story of the sport. Some sports anime, I feel, lean more heavily on the sport--and that’s totally fine, it’s just not something I really care that much about. Free! ranks high, but only for Season 1. If I’m forced to take S2 as well as the travesties that have been the movies thus far into account, it’d rank below TeniPuri, as at least TeniPuri is fun. But if we’re just going by S1, it’s highly ranked for many of the same reasons YOI and HikaGo were: a strong, character-driven show that involves a sport but is not focused on the sport. That’s where Free! failed in S2 IMHO: it tried too hard to become a more traditional sports anime, splitting characters into teams and pitting them against each other and forgetting that they were friends and teammates themselves before they were rivals. The pacing was also horrible in S2, which helped nothing; there’s a reason traditional sports anime are so long. If you’re gonna try to go that route, be prepared for a 30+ episode commitment!Haikyuu!! is my top-ranked traditional sports anime. It manages to be focused on the sport but doesn’t miss the characters, and rather allows the characters to grow explicitly using the sport. You can see that growth even over a relatively short period. It also is relatively realistic in its presentation of the sport, rather than relying on crazy moves that would be more at home in Dragonball Z than an actual attempt to accurately reflect the sport XDPrince of Tennis was my first sports anime and holds a special spot, but I’ve long stopped following it and instead just fondly recall my favorite ships, occasionally reading old fic and doujinshi. There wasn’t a lot of character development, but it didn’t really need it. It relied on fun characters, crazy matches, and just a whole bunch of ridiculousness. Helping keep it a happy memory, too, are the associated musicals and all their zany shenanigans and catchy tunes.Whistle was a series I watched because a lot of TeniPuri seiyuu were in it, and I wanted another shippy sports anime to watch. While it was an okay show, I never got very attached to the characters, got confused about who I was supposed to be shipping (most sports anime are pretty clear cut about potential ships, even if the author doesn’t mean for any of their characters to be shipped--it’s usually just...obvious XD), and wasn’t taken with the MC at all or that invested in their team or the team’s accomplishments. It was just kind of bland, in my recollection.And finally Battery--I watched it because I’d read a little of the manga and kind of liked it, and it was by Asano Atsuko, who brought us No.6!! I should’ve seen it coming that this wouldn’t be your garden-variety sports anime, lol. It wasn’t really focused on the sport at ALL, the MCs were in a constant cycle of fighting and making up with no real development that I could see, and I just didn’t like the main character at all. Helping nothing was the fact that, while it was pretty shippy, the MCs were 12, even though they looked in their 20s or 30s. This was comedic with TeniPuri (where the characters are almost all between 12 and 15), but here, in a show that was so serious (something else I didn’t really like that much), it felt very strange.I’m pretty sure that sums it up :3
