the first song was an instrumental lol but the second one is literally one of my favorite songs of all time so here we go!

the song i got was 'love of our lives' by the indigo girls

all the lyrics are so good honestly--most indigo girls songs read like poetry to begin with--but this is probably the bit that resonates with me the most:

'i open my hands up to see what i've got my days slip like coins into a slot they are gone, the shadows lie long'

and also, as a bonus:

im halfway through hfym-verse on s2,, and i just got to say i absolutely love what you've done w cas,, he's like top 10 characters for me and him listening to fiona apple is so special to me n i just wanted to say thanks bc ik he listening to the cardigans too bc of this and that is also important to me 🫶🏼

thank you so much!!! building cas out in hfym was so so fun, he's kind of pretending to be a human, but he's a lot more familiar with it all than canon Cas was, especially earlier on, so giving him breathing room to develop his own interests was a must! you know he has the best music taste in the whole group and he sam and jess bully dean to listen to stuff besides mullet rock.
