Hello my loves! I can’t believe we’re in the final days of 2017, where on earth has this year gone?

I hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday season because every single one of you deserve it. Back in July I had to remake my Tumblr blog after getting locked out of my 8 year old account, however I think life did me a massive favour no matter how mad I got! The Gang. Blurb 1: The One When they Move In.

A/N: As previously mentioned, our story consists of longer chapters with shorter blurbs in between. This is a flashback, a chance to let you get to know our girls a little bit more! So sorry that none of our boys show up in this chapter, but we get both Jack and Ni in the next one, so just give it a couple days At this point this is the only flash back we have planned. We have also figured out our posting schedule! Blurbs will be posted on Mondays, and full length chapters will be posted on Thursdays.

June, 2016. London

“Hey El, have you looked up any Chinese places yet?” Addy called from the doorway. Ella heaved under what seemed like the millionth box.

“Not yet, if you hadn’t noticed I’ve been moving boxes all day.” Ella said, her voice heavy with sarcasm. She dropped face down onto their new couch, a long, deep maroon wingback that fit perfectly with the crown moulding of the main sitting room. Hearing Addy walk back into the room with the next round of boxes, Ella groaned loudly. “How much do we have left?” she asked scanning the piles of boxes dotted around their living room.

Addy sat down next to her friend and rubbed her shoulder. “Only two or three more trips I think. Come, on! It will all be over sooner if you stop stalling!”

From her stop on the couch Ella looked up at her friend. Addy was right, of course. She usually was. Ella was headstrong and stubborn. Addy was the opposite. They met when they were seven years old. And after twenty years of friendship, they had learned how to balance each other out, to keep the other grounded. And after two decades, they had partaken in their fair share of adventure! College was proof of that. And here they were, in London, starting this new one just like they had all the others: together.

It had been Addy’s idea. The advisor that she worked with during her Masters degree had encouraged Addy to look at PhD programs London. She found a couple that looked promising and started the application process never dreaming she would actually be accepted. The day her letter came was one of the best in her whole life! When Addy got her acceptance, she decided that Ella should come with her. At first Ella was resistant to the idea. But eventually the heartbreak became too much to bear. She needed to get out, to go somewhere new, to get away from prying eyes and the judgemental looks. Most of all she needed to get out of the same city that He was in. It made her skin crawl to think of being within a hundred miles of him. Ella had put in for the transfer to London hoping that an entire ocean would be enough to separate her from her past.

“Hey! Where’d you go?” Addy asked as she continued rubbing Ella’s shoulder. Addy had an uncanny ability to read her friend. She could always tell when Ella got lost in her thoughts. And over the last twelve months, letting Ella get lost in her thoughts was not a good idea. Too much had happened in the last year. “Darling you have to try not to think about it! Or Him! It’s in the past, it’s time to move on my friend! That is part of what this whole move is about, remember? New country, new life! Just like young Mister Bilbo, we are on an adventure!”

“I know, I know!” Ella said sitting up. “I’m ok! Stop looking at me like I’m a wounded puppy! I’m gonna put on my big girl panties and buck up, and I will be just fine!”

“That’s my girl!! Come on, we are almost done with the boxes!” Addy said pulling her friend up from the couch.

Four hours later the two friends sat on the floor in what would eventually be their dining room. They were surrounded by Chinese food and bottles of wine.

“Do you even remember the first time we did this?” Ella asked through a mouthful of lo mein.

“Did what?” Addy asked, taking a sip from her glass.

“This! I’m pretty sure this is the sixth house we have christened by sitting on the floor eating chinese food on our first night. Whose idea was it to begin with?” Ella questioned.

“I can’t remember, maybe Hannah’s? Which house was it? Castle Danger? Or The Fortress of Solitude?”

“No, I think it was Pemberley.” Ella corrected thinking back. The girls had a habit of naming the houses they had lived in together. “Hey, what are we gonna name this one?”

“I was thinking about that today,” Addy said smiling. “I came up with two options. Cair Paravel, or The Shire. Which do you like better?”

Without hesitation Ella shouted “The Shire!!”

Addy was secretly hoping Ella would choose that name. “Well then, The Shire it is!” Addy raised her glass in the air and said “To The Shire, To my Frodo, and our new adventure!”

Ella clinked her glass to Addy’s trying to imagine what this adventure had in store for them.

Dear Dunkirk fandom,

I love you all so very much. I don’t care if I’ve never spoken to you, I love you. This fandom genuinely means so much to me and I can’t even begin to explain how happy I get coming on my blog. That’s a feeling I haven’t had in a very long time and it’s all because the people here are so incredibly wonderful that I finally feel accepted and like I’m a part of something. Third Wheel

AN: Since I said with the characters, I’m taking this and most of the others as Collins. Making an exception for two though, don’t worry :P Had a day off today so I got a bit carried away

Thank you to everyone who requested something for the anniversary! It may take a while to get through them all

Prompt: I fell in love with you, not them.

Your name: submit What is this?

- It wasn’t that you weren’t pretty. It just hadn’t been acknowledged by those who did your younger sister. Other people’s opinions didn’t really matter to you but that one factor did take its toll. The focus on her seemed to be evident in all, including your neighbour Collins.

- The same neighbour who was over again, sat at the kitchen table while your sister poured the tea for him. Unexpected yet he should have been. This was the third time in a week.  

- “Y/N! How are you doing?”

- God, he had such a charming smile to go with his accent. It almost excused him for coming over so often, even after your apparent friendship during your childhood had come to a close and your crush had survived the heartbreak of him evidently flirting with your sister. Putting on a fake smile, you greeted him in return.

- “I’m doing good. We were going to go dancing tonight. Do you want to come?”

- You shoulda said no. You really shoulda. Instead, five hours later, you were sat at a table and debating your entire existence about joining on a pity invite. Collins had been kind enough to buy you a drink but it was another pity offer for sure. Your sister was sat on his other side and he was constantly looking away from you, probably at her. Yeah, you knew what he was up to.

- “Fancy a go on the dancefloor?”

- “Alone? Yeah, right.”

- Collins was rather thrown off by this, that you didn’t realise he was asking you to dance. Rubbing away his frown, he took a sip of his drink, cleared his throat and tried again - bluntly.

- “Y/N, do you want to dance with me?”

- “Really?”

- It came out harsher than you intended, coupled with an expression of disgruntled disbelief you also didn’t intend. Luckily for you, Collins thought it funny and let loose a little giggle.

- “Yes, really.”

- A slow song rose from the band as you stood up with him. Together, you stood at the edge of the dancefloor, Collins placing it on your waist and you yours around his neck. But you kept a respectable distance between the pair of you. 

- Again you shoulda said no to this. Ths song seemed to drag on for hours with the eye contact intensifying your awkwardness. Even when you started to loosen up, the tension grew unbearable when he leant in slightly, the tip of his nose brushing your skin. You ducked your head to break that eye contact, moving back; Collins suddenly stopped dancing.

- “Sorry, have I got the wrong end of the stick? I figured you were onboard and I’d go for it.”

- You glanced over to where she was still sat, talking to three other men. Collins’ hand touched your face to turn it back to him. 

- “I just thought… you and my sister…”

- “Why would you think that?”

- He took a deep breath before confessing so quietly you strained to hear over the band:

- “After everything we did as kids, learning more about you and seeing you get more and more beautiful every day, of course I fell in love with you, not them.”

- It was a joke. It had to be. Yet when you asked, Collins disgustingly dismissed those claims, and others: that it was out of sympathy, that he was winning a bet, that your sister wanted to know if you were after him. Not really knowing how else to respond, your arms slid tighter around his neck until your face was hidden in his shoulder. Unsure of how to move forward, Collins asked softly.

- “Will you let me take you on a proper date, Y/N? I won’t bring her, promise.”

- It was then your turn to start laughing. You nodded without looking at him, eventually lifting your head in time for a more upbeat tune to key up. Sharing a grin with Collins, you danced with more confidence and completely forgot about your third wheel.
