Tong Yao hated Su Luo.

"Da Bing, stop it," she scolds as she angrily huffs at the paw scratching her leg, putting on the Balenciaga trainers Jinyang had gifted to her last year for her birthday afterwhich the woman took her to Kyoto for lunch which was insane to say the least - or as common place as being subjectes to one of Chen Jiyang's ordinarily affluent lifestyles.

Tong Yao's lip trembles a bit as she remembers the scratch on Lao Mao's hand from that fucking bitch's cheap nail extensions. What if Lao Mao got rabies?!

Tong Yao could feel the moment a body collides against her fuming form, a stern gaze piercing the remnants of her soul as if they were playing in the Onmyoji Arena but she completely ignores Lu Si Cheng once the bitch starts stalking towards her, a clear attempt to deliver a slap.

She remembers her Jinyang's words, "Yao jiemie, if you ever find yourself in a cat fight, go right for the face. "

It's as if the arena gods had supported her intense ire as Tong Yao manages to shake off Cheng-ge and even Fatty and Xiao Rui who have taken ahold of her. Lao K was posted in front, acting as her silent and threatening sentinel but she knew he wouldn't give a damn if Tong Yao managed to hit the woman twice for hurting Lao Mao.

So Tong Yao did what Chen Jinyang would have done in her place. As soon as the madwoman was well within reach and Lu Si Cheng wasn't, Tong Yao smacked her right across her stupid, insipid, arrogant cheek with so much force that she was sent back flying towards the shocked girls who had been watching from the sidelines.

A feeling of vengeful satisfaction flits for a moment before it is replaced with minute dread as Tong Yao slowly swivels her gaze to her teammates - who had all but scrambled to get the woman and her cronies away from their midlaner at a single command from her now deathly silent captain.

Tong Yao refuses to back down as Lu Si Cheng regards her with a cool, contemplative gaze and only then does she feel her hand throbbing, as if she had been scratch by both Da Bing and Scallion.

Gritting her teeth, she assesses the damage behind her back lest she anger her captain even further.

After a moment, Cheng-ge finally speaks, "What do you have to say for yourself, Smiling?" He sneers.

Tong Yao wishes the ground could swallow her up but before her eyes go all misty and shit, she squares her shoulders, mustering the courage to keep her seething as fuel for the adrenaline still punping in her veins.

Lu Si Cheng knew she was in the right, and yet all she gets is a cold, hard stare for harming a beautiful fan and probably a pay cut and a suspension or two later on. Such were the rules of the industry but she hated it.

And it was all Su Luo's fault for subjecting the team to this kind of cockamamie clownshow in the first place.

What type of fan service did the organizers want anyway? They just wanted the guys to get sexualized and probably land into a scandal where they fuck some girls backstage?

Wrenching her glossy eyes away from her stoic captain, she manages to grit out, "I'll get ready for my suspension, but I don't regret my actions one bit." She bites back as she stomps to the other exit, not bothering to see whether Lu Si Cheng had been offended at her blatant display of insubordination towards him, -her boss. She just knew Mrs. Wang would be involved and she didn't want two Lu family members telling her what a God damn childish idiot she had been.

She was but a few steps away when Lao K catches up to her, dark kohl rimmed eyes shining with intensity as he regards her proudly like one would a younger sister who had just won a match against an OPL team all on her own.

"Come on before General Lu bites both our heads off," he whispers, gently guiding her to a hidden corridor and true enough, not a minute too soon, they both hear his even, measured footsteps receding.

Lao K ruffles Tong Yao's hair. "Rui-ge would be here to pick you up. I'm just under instructions to guard you."

Tong Yao smirks as Lao K talked in riddles and that was translation for: I wouldn't stop you even if you decided to run away.

"Where is Xiao Rui?" She asks and he sighs dramatically.

"Damage control."

Aiyah. She might have just killed Xiao Rui.

"Where?"

Lao K smirks. "Wait for him by the bus. I'll make sure Chessman doesn't see you."

Tong Yao smiles. This is why he treated Lao K more like a sibling than any of the others. They might have gotten off to a rocky start but Lao K had a petty streak that matched well with hers and if that wasn't a twin bond, she doesn't know what is.

"Thanks. "

Tong Yao decides against staying put as she marches to the bus- planning to demand a meeting with the ever illustrious and perpetually grumpy Mrs. Wang as soon as Xiao Rui fetched her from the premises.

A knock on her bedroom door echoes as she stomps to open it for her manager.

"Are you sure about this, Tong Yao?" His gaze descends upon her outfit of choice in surprise: a tan blazer, some plain shirt underneath and slacks to match.

Tong Yao never wore pants unless they were joggers, her pyjamas, or jeans. Tong Yao doesn't do slacks. But apparently these were Chanel -courtesy of Jinyang- and Rui was managing (pun!) not to choke on his saliva at the absurdity of the situation.

"What, Rui-ge? I'm meeting the mother of all dragons. I need to at least look presentable to be suspended or she'd have a highborn, first class fit."

Rui tuts at her as he leads both of them downstairs. Thankfully, the other members weren't present, particularly Lu Si Cheng, as they had been stuck doing their end of the contract at the anime convention. It would be another hour or so before they finished.

And after the fiasco that the bitch had posted on Weibo, Tong Yao ended up carrying the brunt of the fall for ZGDX xorporation.

After all, she may not be good enough to be Lu Si Cheng's anything but she was apparently good enough to be the Lu empire's grass chewer.

"You may have just saved my kidneys, Tong Yao." Rui mutters as they both buckle into the company's private car which zooms away just as Tong Yao blinks up at the spectacled guy who was crazy enough to hire her for the pro-league.

"Ah?"

Rui chuckles embarrassedly, "Honestly, if one of the guys stepped in and hit her, that would have been worse and my paycheck would be cut down to a year," he jokes but Tong Yao understands.

If one of her team members jumped in, specially Lao Mao, the team would have been branded as sexist pigs for even daring to hit a pretty female no matter how much of an asshole that female had been and no matter how much they were under threat.

It was better that she was the one who took the hit since she was a girl.

Rui hastily clarifies, "Not that I agree with whatever the heads would say about you."

Tong Yao only nods as the city scrapers pass by in a blur.

Fuck her life.

Mrs. Wang was born into a life of luxury.

She was used to things going her way.

Or at least that's what the public -and even her rascal sons- assume.

Certainly, the young girl who seems to be meekly standing before her as Xiao Rui drones on and on about the repercussions of his inactions and the remorse he feels as the manager of ZGDX for not stopping Tong Yao yadda yadda, possesses a quiet strength in the way she stares before being abashed shy as she averts her gaze to the table, brown irises so much like her own when she was younger.

Ah, cute.

"Tong Yao," she starts. "Explain."

Xiao Rui flinches but his smile is unwavering as he tries to placate her. "Madam-"

"I said Tong Yao."

Mrs. Wang's irises glitter with amusement as the slip of a girl who had managed to enamor her beloved boy stands a bit straighter at the reprimand.

And then she opens her mouth and Mrs. Wang is instantly reminded of her youth.

"...with all due respect, Madam, our team members were suffering from physical injuries and that bit-" she coughs at a nudge from the man next to her and Mrs. Wang smirks behind her steepled fingers, "- woman was trying to threaten the team unless we gave in to their demands."

An aristocratic brow arches, "Which was?"

"Blackmail." Tong Yao pauses. "Madam, the downfall of ZGDX would be the downfall of the entire corporation. We might just be the face of the company and I certainly don't see myself as precious cargo, but if any of the others were to suffer a major backlash, it would end us all."

Xiao Rui appeared to be a mix of apoplectic at the way Tong Yao was addressing her and equally accusatory as he did warn her about that yesterday. It was highly entertaining.

"Do you have any proof?" Mrs. Wang challenges, wanting to play longer.

Xiao Rui seems to stop breathing when Tong Yao goes quiet, and before the awkward man can splutter to her defense, the short girl seems to open her lips before shutting them again with a pout.

Ah, she was really adorable.

No wonder that Lu Si Cheng was head over heels in love.

"Tong Yao Xiao jiejie..." She hears Rui mutter as the man appears to pull his charge behind him as if she could be hidden from Mrs. Wang's infamous Hawkeye.

Tong Yao's brows furrow however as she hesitates, "If I could use your computer?" She gestures to the set up behind Mrs. Wang and the latter smiles causing everyone in the room to freeze.

Bullseye.

Mrs. Wang stands carefully, not leaving Tong Yao's peripheral as she gestures freely for her to commence.

Xiao Rui trails behind Tong Yao in confusion as the younger woman plops gracefully on the chair Mes. Wang had been occupying a mere moments ago before the quiet clicks of the keyboard could be heard amidst the tension infesting the room like a virus.

It's only when an ever familiar black screen pops up, a series of green analytical numbers and figures that has Xiao Rui gasping, and finally the complete cctv recording of what had just transpired moments ago when the woman scratched Lao Mao maliciously and Tong Yao hit her.

"I noticed the venue had hidden audio receptors, I'll bring up the audio for you," Tong Yao murmurs in concentration as another black screen pops up and then-

"You fucking bitch," the hussy hisses just as Tong Yao pushes her down.

Both audio and video continue to play in sync and as the recording comes to an end, the woman drones on, "I'll make sure ZFDX Industries crashes and burns to the ground."

A few moments of silence pass and Mrs. Wang takes a deep breath just as Tong Yao is ushered forcefully out of the chair by Xiao Rui.

Mrs. Wang addresses the room. "Everyone except for Xiao Rui and Tong Yao, get out."

Murmurs of acquiescence and shuffles of feet and paper coalesce and disappear as the doors close, leaving the three of them to regard each other, two in confusion while one was beady.

"Tong Yao, what we don't see will hurt us."

She smirks as Tong Yao stares wide eyed.

What the fuck is happening?

Now Xiao Rui was a patient man. A very patient man indeed.

But when one of his charges got hurt or injured or God forbid, emotionally damaged because of the hate comments circulating online every after match whether they had performed well or not, Xiao Rui was quick to act like a mama bear protecting its cubs.

So watching Tong Yao imitate a 2D representation of an in game character -unmoving, and blank- in her expensive Chanel suit was disconcerting to say the least.

And she was pale. What did Mrs. Wang mean?

Plus, he wouldn't want Chessman witnessing this or he'd be sent to the high heavens for letting his girl (yes, the team wasn't dense) go head to head with his demanding mother.

Maybe Tong Yao was right and Mrs. Wang was having a first class, highborn fit.

Well shit.

It takes a while before the shorty beside him responds, "what...what we don't see will hurt us." She licks her lips as if she had been ordered by Lu Si Cheng not to drink water or her RIO for an entire day.

Xiao Rui suddenly feels ice cold when Mrs. Wang shows her teeth and he has half the mind to cover Tong Yao so he pulls the half pint girl even further behind him even if he was being so obvious about it.

He didn't care.

Because Mrs. Wang and Tong Yao were currently eyeing each other after spouting phrases in English which he didnt understand.

Tong Yao shakes herself out of her self induced temporary stupor and finds herself falling into her secondary language. A language which she had no special use of in her current line of work except when Jinyang secretly hustled her out of the country to exotic places where the only communication she was very fluent in aside from Mandarin was English.

"Mrs. Wang-"

"So this is your proof?"

Somehow, Tong Yao knew Mrs. Wang's question carried double meaning.

Before she could respond, a name she had thoroughly forgotten, a name that had been shadowed by the rose colored glasses she had on shoots up from the ground, destroying her well built walls into smithereens, just like Ah Tai destroying her once.

"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. " Tong Yao mumbles, starting to melt under the scrutiny of the formidable Lu mistress.

Mrs. Wang pauses as Xiao Rui gravitates to meddle between whatever this is when a commotion outside draws their attention.

"Young Master Lu! You cannot go in there yet, Mistress Lu is still in a meeting- Yiung master!"

As if he were Susanoo, Lu Si Cheng makes a dramatic entrance, the fierceness with which he carried himself catapulted everyone inside to halt and breathe.

Tong Yao swallows as Cheng-ge automatically glances her way before fixing a pointed glared at his own mother, instantly planting himself beside Tong Yao, arms crossed and sporting an equally annoyed expression as that of Mrs. Wang.

"Is that any way to greet your mother, son?" Mrs. Wang presses her ruby red lips into a sulking pout and Tong Yao flickers her gaze away from the awkwardness of the situation.

Before he could address it, Mrs. Wang shoots Tong Yao and Xiao Rui a dismissive glance, and as the two of them shuffle out, Mrs. Wang calls over her shoulder, "Tong Yao, we are not yet done. Expect another meeting by next week. Don't let my son accompany you, little firebird." She lapses into her normal Mandarin as both Xiao Rui and even the ever unruffled Lu Si Cheng stare at her as if she had just grown two heads.

"Oh and Xiao Rui. I'll deduct two months worth of salary from you. Now, leave us be. " Mrs. Wang shoos and Tong Yao sees her captain and her manager regard her curiously.

Xiao Rui as Mrs. Wang didn't mention a paycut for Tong Yao at all nor a one day suspension, and Lu Si Cheng for entirely different reasons.

Tong Yao quickly follows her manager out the door before Lu Si Cheng devours her with just his stare.

She couldn't hear the cacophony of noises, screeching like nails on a chalkboard, or was that tires screeching on the pavement -

The brown haired woman recognizes her manager's voice, and was that Mr. Li the cab driver?

She could still feel the man's putrid breath on her mouth and his saliva on her eyeballs.

"Are you cold, Xiao jiejie?" She hears Xiao Rui but then she hears his low pitched scream in panic, the same thing she heard when she had vomited on Chessman when she got drunk once at the base.

Wetness pools on her lap and she stares at the remnants of her breakfast and lunch - brunch on her slacks (fuck, Jinyang will have a fit for sullying her Chanel), before she blacks out.

Lu Si Cheng hated Su Luo's audacity.

After all the trouble she had caused for even going to suggest as a "peaceoffering" that Team ZGDX go to an anime convention to increase their publicity, his mother merely waved her off as nothing and broke off whatever contract the Lu family had with the girl's parents.

A simple slap on the wrist.

But then again, Tong Yang had been merely...reprimanded if his mother's words had been true.

It was certainly nothing compared to if the higher ups would have made a huge fuss and suspended Tong Yao for the entire season, which was not ideal as the team needed their insanely strong mid.

Lu Yue just wouldn't cut it in his current level.

Worried that Tong Yao would do something drastic if left to her own devices, the mighty Chessman drove through the highway like a madman.

Until Lu Yue's ringtone cuts through the dense night air. "Mmm?"

Lu Si Cheng lazily answers, busy with thoughts about a rabbit holding a carrot.

"Ge, Shorty's at the hospital. We're on our way there already. "

The line goes dead.

"Where the fuck- sonofabitch!"

The Chessman grinds his teeth, silently cursing Lu Yue.

He would be dead before he got to court Tong Yao properly.

Familiar eyes stare as lips curl in amusement.

"I'm not the one who tanked that seedy corporation to ashes. Why are you praising me?" Tong Yao curses as her shikigami floats and spins through her creepwave.

"I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about this. Your Onmyoji thingy."

She frowns, hands still clicking away. "It's not an Onmyoji thingy. "

"Okay, okay stop picking on her you stupid idiot. We've got work to do. "

A book slaps against the person's head and chuckles fill the room.

White things flutter, a rabbit holds a carrot, Chessman, Lao K, Lao Mao, nails, a Porsche, Fatty, Ming God, Xiao Rui, Mrs. Lu, Jian Yang, biscuits and scallions, Lue Yue.

Lue Yue.

"Oi, our little shorty's awake, huh?"

Tong Yao glares at the wide smile and easy posture. "Shut up. I'm hungry. "

She notices that only the substitute mid was present as the rest of the room was as eerie as a haunted emergency room.

Groaning to sit up, Lu Yue sensibly stops her as she notes the IV thrust into her veins - God her gaming arm.

" Careful, don't kill yourself or my brother will kill me," he smirks tutting as he helps her situate herself more properly by the headboard.

"Where's everyone," she coughs as she reaches for the water by the bedside table. Thirsty, she downs it in one gulp.

"Xiao Pang dragged them all to eat at the nearest noodle shop. They've been staying up late taking turns to guard you." He grins.

Somehow, Tong Yao is irked that he resembles his mother as of this moment.

"So what happened anyway?" He pushes, fishing a fat case of dumplings from the plastic bag by the foot of the bed and the starting mid can't help but salivate.

Lu Yue notices her staring and his shit eating grin widens. "Sorry shorty, you can't have this. "

Tong Yao rolls her eyes even as her stomach grumbles. Not like she wanted to share with her sub anyway. She just wished Xiao Pang had the good sense to being her something to eat.

"Your mother gave me an aneurysm," Tong Yao grunts and Lu Yue guffaws.

After that, both mids fall into comfortable silence until Lu Yue finishes the pack of food and starts talking once more, much to Tong Yao's consternation.

Lu Yue never was talkative when he was alone with her. Or at least if he was, he always only teased.

So it came as a shock that he was looking at her now how his brother usually looked at everyone.

With a furrow of brows.

Huh, they were really brothers.

"What?" Tong Yao looks away, evading his eyesight.

"Hey, if my brother's hard on you, it was because he was also hard on me. " Lu Yue pauses. " And I think he's obsessively worried when it comes to you so take it or leave it like that."

"Obsessively?" Tong Yao raises a brow.

Lu Yue shrugs and pops open a RIO much to Tong Yao's exasperation, just as the remaining Team ZGDX saunters through the doorway, only giving themselves enough time to freeze before they're a crowding by Tong Yao's bed.

Lu Si Cheng swats the nearest person from the IV drip before it topples to the ground and smirks at Tong Yao. "Finally awake, huh?"

Tong Yao pouts as she directs her attention to Xia Pang, "Did you get me food?"

Beside her, Lu Si Cheng frowns as he fondly taps her head and thrusts a plastic container of noodles with salted egg into her face. "Food's here, shorty. Come on, I'll feed you."

A low chorus of whistles emit as the others silently make themselves scarce, all while winking at their two carries.

Lu Yue hollers a "remember what we talked about, shorty!"

Once the noise is gone, the brunette stares at her captain apprehensively.

"...Are you going to suspend me?"

She blurts out blinking, though her focus remains solely on the egg and noodles, inhaling their scent.

"What did you and Lu Yue talk about first?"

Tong Yao lifts her head up only to melt under his intensity.

Lu Si Cheng was looking at her like he owned her or something.

"Nothing important. Just teasing me like always. " She mumbles. "Can I eat now?"

A heavy sight emits from the man with something suspiciously like 'why do I even bother'. He relents," Fine. Eat. On one condition. You can't use your hands. "

Before Tong Yao can scold her captain indignantly at the injustice of it all, her food hovers close to her mouth.

Lu Si Cheng was feeding her.

Shit.

"It's either this or I'm leaving. " He smiles sweetly and Smiling could only scowl.

"Gah! Fine, fine!"

And that is how Tong Yao decidedly gets checkmated by the legendary Chessman.

After the spectacle at the hospital, Lu Si Cheng has decidedly ignored their mid player for the entirety of a week.

And now they were about to face off against Team YQCB but Tong Yao had also been decidedly replaced for the match by none other than Lu Yue.

Perhaps the gaming gods hadn't thrown out all of their humor in the trash as apparently, having a girl play against a bunch of dudes whose hormones were suppressed was trouble in itself so a sub was definitely in order.

Or so ran rampant among the sulking mid's thoughts.

"Stupid Lu Si Cheng. Stupid Lu Yue. Stupid Su Luo. Stupid rich bastards. " Tong Yang mutters darkly as she devours her third chicken leg for the night.

The other teams had heard about the ruckus between Team ZGDX's hot headed princess and that slut- um, bitch and so a large box of flavored chicken had arrived as a gift at Team ZGDX's assigned waiting room.

Everyone knew not to touch Tong Yao's food.

"To appease the Goddess." The note wrote and knew could only suspect that it was from that Korean playboy, Kun was it?

Though their team captain had glared at the parcel as if it were some offending bot or something, at least long enough until Xiao Rui and Ming God kicked all active players out into the arena.

Just as Tong Yao was tearing through her fourth piece, cursing at Su Luo and Lu Si Cheng for starting this predicament in the first place (why the he'll did the captain even agree to take Su Luo out on a date when he wasn't even interested to begin with, Gah!) the sound of heeled shoes make a pointed click clack against the pavement, until they stop in front of Tong Yao.

"Ah?" The depressed midlaner glares up at the intruder only for her to smack the chair to the ground in her abrupt haste to get up and do small bow. "Mrs. Wang." She greets, suddenly becoming conscious that she had yet to wipe her mouth.

The Lu mistress waves her off as she gestures for the both of them to sit and she blinks.

"Um..."

To her surprise, Cheng-ge's mother dives an expensively manicured hand into the chicken box.

Bare handed. She sneers at the flavor and does not touch it again, wiping her hands with a piece of tissue provided by the organizers.

"Don't get me wrong. Hackers like us love our finger foods, only if they appeal to our tastes. " She grimaces as she spots the stain Xiao Pang left behind on the table top while they had some snacks a few minutes ago.

Tong Yao blinks some more.

What?

Mrs. Wang's smirk falls off her aristocratic face as she faces the league's only princess.

"I heard about what happened and I came here to personally apologize. "

For what?

"For what?" Tong Yao blurts out of habit before she could even shut her mouth.

Mrs. Wang appears to be contemplating her next move when screams rebound as the power outage disrupts them. Tong Yao could hear Mrs. Wang cursing (what the hell?), and large heavy foot falls emerge.

"Madam, madam, are you alright?"

"I'm fine! What's happening out there?"

"There seems to be a security breach-"

Almost immediately, both women shoot up just as the power comes back on and the large screen on the wall reflects an unfamiliar eerie logo which cuts directly to a blurred video of a man wearing a paper bag with holes before it shows a bloody and gruesome sight of the same man hanging limply from a noose around his neck and ends up with a bar coded screen.

Tong Yao curses knowing this pattern well.

OPL was being hacked and the League would be fucking canceled, disregarding everyone's efforts, not just Team ZGDX's.

And millions of investments would be lost in a single day.

Mrs. Wang presses her ruby red lips into a firm line, showing her grave displeasure at the turn of events. Being one of the league's biggest investors to date, this would cost a multi million dollar dent in their stockholdings.

The camera pans over to the utterly confused audience and then to the faces of the playing teams.

Mrs. Wang regards her with contemplation before she relents, "This wasn't my intention. To bring you back into the fold as I have left it when I birthed Lu Si Cheng, but you were one of the most elite hackers that the American Union has ever seen. I beg of you, Tong Yang,"

Tong Yang spotted Lao Mao, whose hand still hurts due to the cut from that insipid wrench, Lao K biting his perfectly styled lip - a nervous tick as the man was usually calm in dire circumstances, Xiao Pang's brows shooting to his hairline, Lu Yue glancing unsurely at his brother beside him, and Lu Si Cheng.

If looks could kill, everyone would have been already dead in the arena.

"Make a come back as the little firebird. Just this once. "

"Always remember us in your heart our little firebird, wherever we may be in the world. Promise us. "

"...Mrs. Wang, can I ask, how you know about me. About that. "

Tong Yao drowns out the announcement, certain that the organizers had already been quickly briefed by Mrs. Wang and impressed that they could handle the situation efficiently.

Perhaps this is what it means to be a Lu. Power at its best.

She laughs inwardly to herself.

She's guessing if she doesn't have a pedigree, no woman would be good enough for the esteemed and eldest son of the Lu empire.

It's like applying to become a princess to the nation's prince.

Almost instantly, she spots the booth set up for her.

The rows of gaming equipment have been cleared out leaving only a singular table with a singular chair and the arena's dim and dark lighting at the center stage.

None of the audience members have been allowed to linger, and even the respective teams had been locked up in their own break rooms.

Her team mates would probably look for her despite her "Went to the washroom" note but she had to do this or they might not reach the world championships and she'd have to deal with a depressed body of male angst.

She shuddered to think of it if that were the case.

"Tank them, little Missy," she could still hear the whispers of her old team when she had broken up with Jian Yang and left for the states.

Losing herself in the banal start up, Mrs. Wang sides in next to her and she gives him a questioning look. "Tong Yao, we can't shut down the cameras. "

Fuck.

Once she opens anything, her entire station would be broadcasted in all screens of the arena, face included.

"...let's work with what we have, Mrs. Wang."

The older woman seems relieved at this as she gives her a genuine smile for the very first time. "You really remind me of myself." With a light tap of her manicured nails on the back of Tong Yao's chair, she nods, "Tank them, my successor."

Tong Yao purses her lips in a grim smile.

Let's go, Yao Yao.

Xiao Pang was very versatile with situations.

There's a black out? He'll be fine as long as there's food.

A hurricane? As long as there's food around.

An angry mob of fans storming the base? As long as there's food around.

Xiao jijie taking a shit long time to go to the bathroom? As long as there's food around.

And food there is as Tong Yao had apparently left a lot of food behind when she went to take a dump or so Lu Yue said.

But isn't 20 minutes an awfully long time?

He notices Lu Si Cheng, their captain, their shooter, their normally stoic and composed Chessman anxiously looking at the door every fricking 5 minutes.

The teams had been ordered by the administration to stay put because there was something special happening- it was a good thing the stupid outage had happened just as the blazing Victory flashed behind Team ZGDX for the 2nd match.

But still the captain was pretty pissed and he didn't know why.

An uneasy quiet settles over them just as Lao Mao voices everyone's concern. " Shorty sure is taking her time pooping her pants huh?"

Only Xiao Rui and Xiao Pang manage to utter a singular chuckle.

Ten more minutes pass without the beloved team's shorty in tow and Xiao Pang wonders if their little sister got locked out of the arena instead after wandering outside because she wanted some other kind of food or something.

It was the or something that overtook the blaring screen which came back to life (the others had tried turning it on without much success for the past few minutes), just as he spotted his captain almost standing up with a scowl on his unfairly handsome face.

Probably to go drag Tong Yao over and scold the poor girl.

"What the fuck."

Xiao Pang jolts. Xiao Rui, their good two shoes manager never swears. Or at least not out of game.

As all of their eyes get glued to the huge screen in the room, Xiao Pang nearly swallows a chicken bone.

Because at the center of the OPL arena was their beloved little girl, surrounded by four men in black suits and masks, attentively securing the area as if guarding her against a threat as she typed away at the computer he swears he had been using mere moments before.

Xiao Pang swears Lu Si Cheng just grew horns on top of his head.

"Suzaku, guard your tail end. Seiryuu's on his way. Byakko and that turtle piece of shit can get smashed for all I care."

Tong Yao laughs. "Roger that, captain."

"The sooner we're done, the sooner we can eat meat. "

Line 50. Line 60. Line 70. Line 80. Line 90. Line 100.

Tong Yao grits her teeth, gingers clacking speedily against the keyboard like they have never clacked before as she tries to blind herself with all the numbers displayed in front of her.

What was it that they said about hackers.

They were ordinary joes with extraordinary powers.

Shaking her head in frustration, she focuses back onto the task at hand. The sooner she can find that extra variable, the sooner she can be done and go home.

At most forty minutes have passed since the break and she could hear the restlessness growing outside. She swears she could have heard Jian Yang imploring the guards to let them in because what the fuck.

She wonders if Cheng-ge was outside in a similar fashion, looking for her. Worried about her.

She frowns, not even entertaining that thought or she would never find the stupid piece of shi-

"Found it!" She growls, her fingers ready to bleed with the way she frantically targets the variable only for her to bite her lips in frustration when another one pops up after she deletes it.

God, this might take a bit of a long time.

She silently hoped the league could provide food for all the starving people out there or they might just bite their way into her work area.

Lao Mao gapes. Their little sis, their little princess was a fucking hacker.

"What, what-"

Forty minutes in and it doesn't take a genius to put two and two together. Not with the steady focus the girl was emanating, and especially not when a dual screen pops up beside their girl, an exact live stream of what she had been doing for the past half hour or so.

And it was insane.

But then Lao Mao frowns as he stares and narrows his vision at Tong Yao's right hand - almost the exact same pattern of injury as that woman had inflicted on his hand.

"Is that Madam Wang?" Ming God points out as Lu Yue confirms in horror.

"The cameras seem to be moving on their own. Otherwise, we wouldn't be allowed to even see this." Lao K points out, but underneath his cool exterior lay a very concerned older brother.

Lao Mao grinds his jaw as veins pops up on his forehead. His fingers graze his scalp and he suddenly hisses, reminded of his injury.

Which reminds him of Tong Yao's injury.

Because Fatty just pointed out that Tong Yao was bleeding on the mouse pad.

Well fuck.

Something like glass breaks and they watch in mesmerized horror as Lu Si Cheng, their team captain kicks the door down with sheer force and storms out despite protests from the guards.

Lao Mao and the rest of the team run after him to see what the hell is going on.

Tong Yao hisses in pain as her fingers bleed -bleed! onto the keyboard.

Godfuckingdammit.

Cursing like a sailor wasn't her strong suit but after years of exposure to the four Gods , not to mention Team ZGDX (who despite making a silent pact never to cuss in front of her), please excuse her language as she was under stress at the moment.

She noticed someone wipe the blood oozing down the mouse pad and she murmurs a thanks, while the person retreats back without further disruption.

Line 143. Her skin runs cold as she spots an all too familiar logo. The same one that the four gods had thought to have vanquished the last time a of them had been together.

Her hands clam up but don't stop clicking and clacking and sweat beads on her brow but she feels almost sick, nauseated, remembering the putrid breath of that man.

Tong Yao takes a deep breath.

That was all in the past. And the man was behind bars.

All in the past. And the man was in jail.

All in the past. And Lu Si Cheng was inside the arena-

Well shit.

Mrs. Wang hardly ever saw his son.

And she hardly ever saw him as enamored as he was, that is in a fantastic creepy 'I'll take down anyone who dares hurt her including you mother' kind of way.

So when Lu Si Cheng and the entire ZGDX along with some stragglers from other teams override the guards stationed at the door, she signals those inside the arena to build a fence around Tong Yao so as not to disrupt her work.

Worriedly, she strides over to her son and his team who instantly begin to ask her questions but with a raise of her hand, she silences them all.

Even the other team managers have glided over to see what the ruckus was about.

Thankfully, Tong Yao couldn't give a rat's ass about what was happening outside of her concentration and Mrs. Wang was glad that this child was the one chosen as one of the four Gods in the hacking industry.

Maybe she had misjudged her to just be an errant little girl who didn't deserve a place beside Lu Si Cheng.

Su Luo and any other woman she would even attempt to place beside her son would now pale in comparison to Tong Yao for the foreseeable future.

"Mother, what's happening?" Lu Si Cheng asks, teeth glinting under the dim lights, face looking so much like his father when he had proposed to her and it was at that moment that the Mistress of Lu definitely knew that her son had found the one.

She pinches the bridge of her nose. She supposes a June wedding could be arranged. She just hopes that the grandkids don't come first before that. After all, these two were living under the same roof and she knew her son's tendency to be clingy when he was obsessed with something.

"I'll explain in detail later. But for now, let her work in peace. Or the entire league would Crack down and all of you would be left jobless by tomorrow. " She mutters unhappily, more at the fact that the Lu Enterprises would have major losses if this were to happen. Sure they would still be exceedingly wealthy but any lost money was a waste and the league was such a huge investment she wasn't willing to risk it.

Those who were close enough to hear her declaration had apparently assumed the same thing: that Team ZGDX's midlaner was not only pretty and strong but was a government sanctioned hacker if Mrs. Wang was willing to use her to fix things.

Everyone jolts when Tong Yao hisses loudly and Mrs. Wang warns her son to stay put even if she herself wanted to go over there and comfort the girl.

As the former Suzaku however, she couldn't. Hacker's ethics.

She hears the worried murmurs of her teammates and hides a smile.

This girl was well loved that a bit of envy entered Mrs. Wang's heart.

Not even her own husband loved her to this much.

Lu Si Cheng was going crazy.

He was going insane.

His girl was currently bleeding and frustrated all by her fucking self.

He should be there.

Lu Si Cheng had to be there beside her.

"GOD!" They all stiffen when his girl growls, and he could just see the tears forming in her brown eyes as she keeps on biting her lips.

Shit, her lips would probably be bleeding too.

His mother seemed agitated beside him and that nearly put him into unadulterated panic until another screech from Tong Yao has him jumping the several paces to get to her, only for him to be held back by her mother's security.

"Mom!" He could hear his little brother gasp in surprise but his own rage fuels his limbs to move, to just fucking move so he could get to her.

After that fight Tong Yao had at the anime convention, his heart had nearly leapt out of his throat when she pushed that stupid woman on the ground.

She could feel her ice cold rage burning his hand as she asked him to let go of her but he didn't.

Because if he did and Tong Yao got hurt, he would burn them all down.

So he had opted to ignoring Tong Yao for the most part after he had explained to his mother the entirety of that unfortunate event.

Because he didn't know how to rein in his frustration if she somehow provoked him.

He might just end up taking her to his bed which was not the way to start a relationship with her if he ever wanted a chance.

But then this happened and now his heart is hurting because she's in pain.

Tong Yao, the girl he tried to forget, with him refusing to be collected like one of her stamps, the girl he had fallen head over heels for, was suffering in the very arena she thrived in.

Someone would have to pay.

Tong Yao visibly shakes in anger as she deletes every last fucking logo of that putrid man.

[All variables deleted. Would you like to end this game?]

"Damn you," she mutters loud enough for everyone to hear, not that she was aware of them at the moment.

[If you enter YES, the game will end but at what cost? If you enter NO, the game will not end but you alone will be safe. Make your choice, little firebird.]

Tong Yao quickly types in the word YES without much thought, wanting this to be over and done with but nothing ever comes easy does it.

Not for one of the four gods at least.

A loud, obnoxious sound startles her as the smoke blasts on stage and the clear VICTORY sign flashes behind her.

Then a garbled voice filters through the speakers from the emcees corner, "Congratulations on your first win. I look forward to many more, Smiling, or should I say God Suzaku of the South."

The voice cuts into static and the league restarts, frozen from where everyone presumably left off.

Silence forms in the arena as Tong Yao stands before fainting, several voices chasing her to oblivion.

After the incident at the OPL Arena, the teams and anyone else who had witnessed the marveled spectacle had quickly been made to sign non disclosure agreements.

Team ZGDX had all but quickly gotten their girl home before meeting with the top members of the corporation. They refused to let Lu Si Cheng go alone as Tong Yao was their precious mid and anyone who tries to hurt her hurts them.

It was a miracle that none of the audience members or the reporters had learned of the news and it seemed that the teams had kept very quiet about the incident - after all, Tong Yao wasn't only ZGDX's princess.

"Fuck, that's crazy. Your mom and our sis were both former Suzakus. That's- that's huge, ge." Xiao Pang shakes his head as they all gather by the kitchen, eating a simple dinner of curry that Xiao Pang had improved and Tong Yao's favorite RIO.

Their princess had yet to get up after being knocked out for two days which was worrying all on its own but the doctors assured them that it was borne out of years and years of emotional fatigue.

Lu Yue nudges his meat carelessly, "I miss shorty."

Silence descends on the group before he gets smacked with a slipper.

"Ey, bro!"

"Shut up and eat. Tong Yao wouldn't want us moping around like she's dead. It's an insult. "

At that, the tension in the table eases.

"So what do we do now?" Lao Mao asks, nursing his barely healed injuries. Tong Yao had it worse that they had to bandage both of her hands and explain to her when she wakes up that she couldn't join the season until her hands get better.

They left that job to Chessman.

"We protect, we attack, we make sure we've got her back." Xiao Pang recites and Lao K smacks him with a MIHOO face mask.

"Your dry skin is affecting your brain, Fatty."

Everyone chuckles as Fatty nurses an invisible wound. "I hate this. I was always asking myself why our Tong Yao was always being targeted. It's because she's a goddamn bad ass after all."

They all hum in agreement.

"Well, no matter what, Tong Yao must always be protected at all times. Until at least the threat passes. I've called Chen Jinyang and she agreed to rally the teams so she's covered in the league. " Chessman states gravely and they all nod in agreement.

Tong Yao might just strangle all of them for being so over protective if she learns what they'd just done.

Just as Xiao Rui and Ming God enter through the kitchen, they hear the familiar sound of the Chen heiress' Porsche before Team YQCB emerges with their muse.

"I'll just check on my sister, see you losers later," she waves and ascends the steps to attend to Tong Yao. After all, Jiyang was the only one they could trust to over see their mid's...girl needs.

Ai Jia shakes his head fondly at his on again off again girlfriend before situating himself in the sofa across from the others.

And as the men spread out in relaxed states, mingling with one another, bonding like brothers while drinking, they hear Jinyang screech "Tong Yao, you're awake!"

Lu Si Cheng is the first to go followed by Lao K and then the rest.

As soon as they huddle in front of her familiar yellow door, Jinyang pushes her head out with a glare. "Give us a minute or two gentlemen. I'm going to bathe my sister."

"Wait," Tong Yao could be heard pleading before the yellow door officially opens wider and Jinyang begrudgingly lets all of the men in.

Some of them from YQCB stare in wonder at the Smiling's room, "This is larger than each of our rooms back at the base, honey!" Ai Jia complains while Hierophant has taken to examining Tong Yao with a small smile towards the girl before he wanders to the cat corner and picks up Da Bing in one arm and Scallion in another.

"HI, guys," Tong Yao smiles but she only coughs after not having used her voice for two days. Lu Si Cheng immediately goes to her side to hand her some water, completely missing the grins exchanged around the room.

"Gege," she blinks up at him and she fails to notice Jinyang's clasped mouth or the other's disbelieving stares.

Lu Si Cheng thinks he might short circuit and his brain goes to his safe place: a bunny holding a carrot.

Wait...

That wasn't a safe place. Not really. If the blood rushing south had anything to do with it.

Lu Si Cheng coughs, ignoring his physiology. "How are you feeling?"

Tong Yao nods, "Much better. " She tilts her head and everyone thinks it's adorable. Even the stoic Hierophant.

Xiao Rui interrupts them, "Now that Tong Yaonis awake, who wants to help me get dinner from that nice place across the street?"

Xiao Pang perks up immediately, "The ine with the pork bouillon?"

When their manager nods, Xiao Rui has managed to have Xiao Pang and the others and some of Team YQCB latch onto him. Jinyang sends off a grumbling Ai Jia to get their drinks.

Tong Yao laughs as they exit, harassing the poor manager out of his wits. She then turns her attention to the rest namely her sister, her captain, and her captain's best friend. Ming God had left to tend to dessert as he exclaimed that Tong Yao's awakening was something to celebrate.

Surprisingly, Hierophant was the first to speak up, "Tong Yao Xia jiejie, I'm presuming you're fluent in English." He says in broken Chinese and it was a good thing all occupants in the room were so at least the Korean could comfortably speak.

"You're telling me that the cause of the league's break down was from an American corporation?" Hierophant clarifies.

"Not just any corporation. He's...a wayward God you could say."

"A wayward God?" Lu Si Cheng frowns, his hands taking to patting her hair subconsciously and Jinyang doesn't miss the way he gazes at her.

Neither does Hierophant who hides his smirk.

"Seiryuu - the azure dragon's predecessor was his uncle who disobeyed the American Union and was branded as a traitor. We call him Lune, short for Lunatic. He goes by that name." Tong Yao brings out her phone and shows them an emblem composed of a full moon and an elegant letter "L" surrounding the logo.

"This was what I had been trying to remove. If I didn't do this, the entire league would have shut down. Viruses are Lune's specialty and he almost took down an entire continent until we were able to...stop him."

Tong Yao closes her eyes at the memory and everyone takes that as their cue to let her rest. Lu Si Cheng shoots her a smile before leaving with Hierophant. Jinyang stays to watch over her.

Downstairs, the men have congregated around a the table, silent gestures leading them to conclude only one thing as Chessman relayed everything they had just heard.

One thing was for certain.

Operation Knights of the Little Suzaku was underway.

Requested by anonymous: Hi! Could you write about fiys K again? maybe a love triangle with Lu Yue where he is confidently going after the reader and K is more subtle about it. Love your work!

A/N hope you don't mind that I put these requests together, the second parts (I will make an ending for both boys) will be posted after I finish the other requests I have :)

"Are you not annoyed by it?" Tong Yao asked as you laid down on the bed, sighing loudly to indicate that you didn't want to talk about it. Your teammate didn't give in, however, as she jumped on the bed beside you with an annoying grin.

"Who would you choose?" She continued to pry and you pushed her, watching roll of the bed with a loud thump before getting up again.

"I'm gonna go livestream a bit, I still have 12 hours to go in a week so..." You awkwardly said before leaving the room, laughing as you heard Tong Yao groan loudly as she realized that she had much more left. You went down the stairs, greeting Xiao Rui with a smile before finding getting on your chair and rolling closer to the computer.

"Hey, pretty!" Lu Yue called out and you looked up, smiling at him before trying to get the livestream started. It was clear that you weren't getting it, even after being in the group for a year or so now, and K rolled closer. Without saying anything, he started clicking certain buttons and suddenly the stream started. You flinched when you saw yourself on your screen before smiling, thanking K with another bright smile. Then you focused on the stream, greeting the fans and answering some questions here and there. You pulled one of your legs up before grabbing your drink, one that had magically appeared and was not at all against Xiao Rui's rules.

Throughout the whole stream, Lu Yue kept yelling compliments at you and K was always kind enough to help you without saying anything. The attention felt a bit awkward, but you were honestly used to it at this point and the comments were more awkward than the actions themselves. Fans, however, weren't used to it and spammed the comments with questions. You ignored those, focusing on the other questions as you leaned forward to read them more closely. Soon enough all of them were about the comments or actions of the two men, causing you to sigh in slight annoyance.

Lu Yue noticed and came closer, rolling slightly into frame before you kicked him out again. You watched him fall out of the chair, shaking your head at how dramatic he was being before turning back to the livestream. Comments flooded again and you could only laugh at them, pointing some of them out with a smile.

You kept going for another hour, playing the game for awhile as K and Lu Yue calmed down with the attention (mostly because they got scolded). Once the livestream ended, however, Lu Yue was quick to start again. You leaned your head to the side, eyes moving to Si-Cheng with a bit of annoyance, to which he responded by throwing his slipper at Lu Yue's head. You held up your thumb before focusing back on your training.

It was 2 am, yet you were wide awake and sitting on the kitchen counter with a pot of noodle in your hands. The lights weren't on, leaving you to eat your noodles in complete darkness. Lucky for you, you weren't alone as K sat next to you and drinking some tea. It somehow became your ritual for you two, always happening on a Friday evening/Saturday morning. Surprisingly, no one ever found out about it.

"What was the thing we have today again?" K spoke up, looking your way and you could see his appearance slightly thanks to the soft moonlight that lit up the room. You stopped eating, swallowing everything before thinking for a bit.

"I think we have that one photoshoot, Tong Yao and I have that magazine shoot as well, then the interviews... No training, though!" You gave him a smile as you pulled your legs up to sit cross-legged on the counter, turning a bit more so that you could face K completely. He seemed to be thinking about everything you just said.

"Why do you and Tong Yao have a separate photo-shoot?" He then asked and you shrugged, slurping up some more noodles.

"It's just for the girls in E-sports. Yang Mi from YQCB is also joining the shoot." You explained and K rolled his eyes before walking off, leaving his drink beside you. Minutes later, he returned and held what seemed to be a mask. He opened the packet before motioning for you to get closer, which you did with a bit of confusion. You watched him pull out a mask, opening it carefully before placing it on your face and smoothening it down. You wanted to smile and thank him, but you knew that he would scold you if you did. So you stayed quiet, waiting for him to finish smoothing down the mask before taking one of his own.

"Do I look that bad?" You whispered and he gave a short look before placing his own mask on his face.

"We have a photoshoot, we can only look our best." He replied in his usual monotone voice and you sighed softly before continuing to eat.

"Please change now!" The photographer yelled loudly and you stretched quickly before moving to the changing rooms with the other two girls behind you. The shoot had been going for awhile now, the men of your team were mostly sleeping in the back of the room as they waited for you and Tong Yao to finish so they could go eat before interviews. Only Si-Cheng, K and Lu Yue were awake and Xiao Pang had disappeared, although you guessed that he had started looking for food already.

You changed into the last outfit, a flowy black dress that covered most of your body, and you couldn't help but smile. You felt pretty. Tong Yao wore a pink dress that looked similar to yours, only difference was that her shoulders were exposed and Yang Mi was dressed in a different blue dress. You moved back to the set, walking to the makeup lady as she started to fix your makeup here and there.

"You should wear dresses more, you look pretty!" Lu Yue exclaimed and you glanced at him, sticking out your tongue at him before trying to stand still again for the woman in front of you.

"The day I wear dresses outside, is the day you can kill me." You joked and K gave a thumbs up, eyes still glued to his phone while Lu Yue pouted at your response. Once the woman in front of you was finished, you moved to the set again as you waited for the other girls to join you. However, you still heard a camera in the distance and you noticed a staff member taking pictures of you.

"Excuse me, but could you not take pictures of me right now?" You asked and the man looked up in surprise as everyone turned to him, his face turning red. He started spouting excuses as someone grabbed his phone and you turned away again.

Honestly, you didn't really care about the pictures that much. It was mostly just that they could be leaked, which wouldn't be a good idea and thus you said something. The shoot continued without any other complications and soon enough, you were finished and ready to go eat. You had two hours left before you had the first interview, so after changing, you all just left to find a good restaurant.

"I am sooo tired!!!" Lu Yue whined as he threw himself on the couch, you sat next to him and patted his back softly as you continued to text your mom. K sat on the chair next to you while the rest of the group went off to do their own things.

"(Y/n), you have an hour left for streaming. Please finish it by today." Xiao Rui commented and you looked up before sighing. "Can I do a livestream while going shopping?" You asked back and Xiao Rui nodded at you, jotting it down in his phone.

"I'll join her then, those count for me as well!" Lu Yue exclaimed and Xiao Rui nodded before looking at K, who nodded that he'd join too. So you went back up and changed into some easier clothes before grabbing some stuff for filming.

"Come on, boys!" You exclaimed as you pulled your shoes on and they followed your lead, the three of you also putting on your caps. Once you were outside, you turned on a livestream and connected the phone to a selfie stick so that the three of you could be in the frame.

Then you greeted your fans with a smile, the boys behind you gave a short greeting as well. You quickly explained what you were doing as fans started to ask questions, some asking why the hell the boys were with you.

"Otherwise she'd return with three bags of candy or something like that." K spoke up and you stopped walking to give him a glare before continuing to walk. Lu Yue was very vocal as he started to complain to the fans about Xiao Rui while you and K just listened to his ranting.

You entered to store, K grabbing a car that you attached the phone to before pushing it around as you read out the list so that the others could grab them. Leaning over the cart, you read out some comments and answered them in a hushed tone, not wanting to disturb others in the shop.

"Don't lean over like that." K suddenly commented, just low enough so that the chat wouldn't hear it and you stood up with a confused look.

"Your top is too low." K whispered and you quickly thanked him before continuing the stream. Soon enough you were paying for everything while Lu Yue went outside with the camera to keep the fans busy while you paid for everything.

"You okay?" You asked once you noticed that K seemed a bit annoyed, making the man look at you before shrugging.

"Lu Yue is being a bit too vocal." "About what?" You asked, not expecting the answer as you watched the cashier scan everything.

"His crush on you." K answered and you paused packing for a second before continuing with a shake of your head. You knew that Lu Yue was a bit too open with his feelings, but you weren't sure if it was a crush. Even if it was, why would K care that much? Unless he had a crush on you... You didn't know what to think, packing in silence before giving the full bags to K.

"We both do by the way, if that wasn't clear." He made a last comment before walking off with three of the bags and leaving the last with you.

Now you certainly didn't know what to do.

A/N sorry for the long wait, hope you enjoy :)

Xiao Rui watched as everyone trained, growing more and more annoyed as it continued. K and Lao Mao were having a fight again over something petty, which only led to them having no communication with each other and ruining their teamwork. On the other hand, Si-Cheng was also playing worse than his usual records. This is, of course, something that only he noticed as the others still send praises his way. Lu Yue and Tong Yao were also bickering loudly on the sidelines, both not allowed to play because they were heavily sick due to late night competitions and lack of decent nutrition.

And yes, snacks did not fall under decent nutrition.

The match ended not much later and Xiao Rui couldn't hide his annoyance as he slammed his notebook down, marching off to calm down a bit. It wouldn't be of any use to yell at them, it would only dampen the mood even more and it was already bad enough at this point. He leaned on the railing, head dropping into his hands as he let out a heavy sigh.

How he was able to deal with them on a daily basis was still something he was proud of and yet it drained all of his energy out of his body, to which he hadn't found a way to gain that energy back.

Unfortunately, tomorrow was a competition. Even when it was just more of a showcase, it was still a way to show their skills and at this rate, not much was going to be shown.

He was pulled from his thoughts as a lollipop was shoved in front of his face. He looked to the side, seeing Si-Cheng next to him and he quickly grabbed the candy.

"You're not-" "Not supposed to eat candy. I know, I know... It helps against stress." Si-Cheng interrupted as he leaned on the railing next to his manager, a lollipop now placed in his own mouth. Xiao Rui glanced back at the candy, but shook his head as he shoved the piece deep into his pocket.

"Lao Mao and K are making up right now and I send Tong Yao and Lu Yue back to their rooms to rest." Si-Cheng said and Xiao Rui thanked him before walking back inside as Si-Cheng promised that the next match would go well.

So, with a very heavy heart, Xiao Rui went to sleep as well.

The next hardest thing happened in the morning. He had to wake everyone up, some more difficult than others. Lu Yue and Tong Yao were the most difficult, both still claiming to be sick and thus could skip. Xiao Rui knew this to be untrue and told them to just wear a mask if they still felt too sick. When they were out, it would come down to waking Xiao Pang. Luckily, Si-Cheng had already taken it upon himself to literally drag said boy out of his bed. This was evident when everyone downstairs heard a loud thump before Xiao Pang's voice rang out with anger.

Nonetheless, they were able to leave 5 minutes before the planned time and thus they had plenty of time to spare once they reached the waiting room. The peace that they had though, didn't last long. The door burst open, revealing Lee Hang-Suk with a bright grin as he found Tong Yao's figure. He greeted her loudly, he woke up everyone that was sleeping. He didn't notice this as he happily started ranting to Tong Yao, blissfully unaware of the glare that was sent his way from Si-Cheng while Tong Yao just gave him a gentle smile.

Xiao Rui, on the other hand, was more annoyed by the young man like Si-Cheng was, just for different reasons. His head felt like it was splitting open ever since he woke up and the loud chattering did not help his migraine.

So, of course, he was thankful when it stopped. Thankful, but confused. The silence was soon explained when he looked up, seeing a sight that he was definitely not expecting to see.

In the middle of the room stood Hang-Suk, loudly yelling at the person who stood beside him. That person held Hang-Suk's ear tightly, pulling him to up to their height while scolding him in what sounded like Korean.

Xiao Rui felt his heart spike as he saw you, supposedly his manager by the way you talked to Hang-Suk.

"I apologize for him, I keep loosing him. At this point, the company will fire me if I lose him again." You mumbled to Tong Yao in Chinese and now Xiao Rui was certain that you were Hang-Suk's manager. Hang-Suk was still trying to get out of your grip, but you only twisted his ear more for him to stop.

"Please excuse me now." You spoke before you walked out, dragging Hang-Suk behind you as you walked back to the waiting room for your team.

He saw you again during competition, both of you standing at the front row as you watched the match. Unlike him, you weren't taking any notes and just watched intensely with a proud smile.

"Do you not take notes?" He asked, voice barely above the loud soundtrack that played through the stadium and you turned his way before shaking your head.

"I don't think it's important now, they're just having fun now." You commented and he nodded before watching the game again, still taking notes.

"You should relax, your shoulders are going to hurt from sitting hunched like that." You said a few minutes later and he looked up from his notebook, glancing your way again with a raised eyebrow before he slowly sat up straight. You just chuckled before focusing back on the competition once more. However, Xiao Rui couldn't focus on his team anymore, his gaze being pulled your way as you brightly smiled throughout the whole show.

And yes, his team did noticed and teased the hell out of him later on. Where it also went completely unnoticed that your team was only a couple of meters further and probably heard all of it. You, however, were too busy scolding Hang-Suk again for his loudness and irresponsible behavior, aka trying to run off to see Tong Yao again.

A click of a camera caught your attention, looking up to see Si-Cheng with his phone in hand. you didn't really care, but Hang-Suk did care apparently as he pulled himself free from your grip and ran to Si-Cheng while loudly yelling something in Korean. He was going so fast that you could barely follow, but the leader of ZDGX seemed fine as he continued to type in the air while holding the Korean man down.

"Should I be worried?" You mumbled as you got closer to the pair, Xiao Rui right beside you.

"He probably is sending it to Hang-Suk's mother or something like that..." Xiao Rui replied and you looked at him before chuckling softly, crossing your arms.

"Let's hope not, if she visits again..." You paused, feeling a shiver running up your spine as you were reminded of the previous time she visited. Sweet woman, but a bit too honest for anyone's liking and she was not afraid to hurt feelings while doing so...

Deciding that it was enough, you stepped forward again and grabbed the younger's collar. Dragging him back, making him stumble back before he gave a cheeky grin to you.

"Sorry..." He mumbled and rolled your eyes, throwing your arm around his shoulders and locking him into a headlock before turning your head.

"See you next time, Xiao Rui!" You exclaimed with a bright smile before walking off while dragging the younger team member with you as the rest of the team also followed. Xiao Rui couldn't help but smile before frowning as he realized that he never actually told you his name.

"Looks like Xiao Rui has a crush~!" He heard the others tease him again and rolled his eyes before turning around.

"You guys didn't play well, so I'm upping your training to 9 hours a day instead of 7." He commented before walking off, ignoring all the groans and whines behind him.

He then saw you again when you and his group met for a friendly competition, knowing you would not be competing soon in the actual competition until the third or fourth round and thus you could help each other out.

So while the teams played, you went to a café not far from their dorm with Xiao Rui to get coffee for everyone while they practiced. They would be fine for 15 minutes alone, right?

You paid no mind to that thought as you chatted with Xiao Rui on your way to the café, not paying any attention to your surroundings and almost giving Xiao Rui a heart attack every time a car raced past you guys. Every time it happened, he quickly pulled you aside before basically forcing you to walk on the side of the houses instead.

"Thanks." You smiled at him and he almost felt like he got a heart attack, the over-the-top ones like you'd see in anime's. This time it got through him that he indeed had a crush on you, weirdly enough he was quickly okay with it. That, however, did not stop the blush from forming on his face.

"So, why game manager?" You asked and he quickly thought about it, but no answer formed in his head so he just gave a shrug. You just chuckled in response before entering the café and walking to the barista. You started ordering and Xiao Rui noticed that you were ordering his teams drinks as well while the barista looked a bit annoyed at the amount of orders. When you finished ranting all the team drinks and your own, you turned to Xiao Rui again.

"What do you want?" You asked and he quickly told you his usual drink, not having time to think of paying as you already scanned your card.

"You didn't have to pay for that, you know." He said as both of you sat down to wait for everything and you smiled.

"You're paying for dinner, no?" You joked and he chuckled, making you look up with a smile.

"So, how do you spend time when you're not taking notes and such?" You asked, grabbing a snack from your pocket and offering him one.

"I don't really have any free time, my job gets... busy." He sighed loudly and you frowned.

"Wait, wait, wait.... You don't have free time?" When he shook his head, your eyes widened and you leaned forward.

"Okay, I'm stealing you tomorrow. We're gonna have some fun, okay?" You said and he wanted to decline, but you only raised an eyebrow at him and he just nodded.

"Great, it's a date!" You said happily and he looked up again, a blush once again covering part of his face and you smiled before getting up when your name was called. He just followed, still a bit shocked as he grabbed about half of the drinks before you walked back to the dorms.

Once inside, you handed out all the drinks before turning to Si-Cheng.

"Si-Cheng, Xiao Rui is mine tomorrow!"

A/N Sorry for the long wait. I really liked writing this, hope you like it :)

You were sitting on the couch, legs propped up on the arm of the couch while you scrolled through your phone and trying to hold up the conversation with Si-Cheng. It was already late, yet he was still explaining one of his news strategies to you to so you could find any faults that he couldn't find. Nonetheless, you listened carefully to everything he said. But then he said something weird and you quickly stopped him.

"That sounds weird, why would they not cover their base carefully? Their previous matches shows that they protect it very carefully." You said and he frowned, but marked that part nonetheless before continuing. That was until his phone rang, flashing on and he took up. You could see the wheels in his head turning and frowned, sitting up in concern. When the phone call ended, he handed you the papers.

"I have to go somewhere." "At this hour?" You asked and he nodded, leaving and you sighed.

"Leaving your best friend alone, huh? Who has captured your heart?" You joked and he rolled his eyes before leaving, making you laugh.

"See ya!" You yelled after him before laying back down, checking the papers with a frown. "How can you write this many pages?" You mumbled before taking a pen. You started marking on the page, mumbling the words out loud to make them make sense. 15 minutes later, your eyes started to hurt from the low light and you got up, dropping the papers down on the couch. You stretched before turning on some lights and walking to the fridge. You grabbed a cola bottle, opening it and taking a sip. You turned around before jumping up in the sky when you noticed someone standing in the hallway by the door. You were frozen as he walked in, not having noticed you somehow as he sat in one of the chairs. You coughed loudly and he flinched before looking up and spotting you.

Now it may have looked a bit weird, you were only wearing shorts and a hoodie.

"Who are you?" "Likewise..." You returned, stepping back a bit and he leaned back in his chair.

"Lu Yue, you?" He asked and you frowned, thinking for a second.

"I'm (y/n), friend of Si-Cheng..." You introduced as you tried to think of who he was. You didn't really pay attention to Si-Cheng's team much, only following his recent games (probably since Tong Yao joined) to help him out with planning games.

"How did you get in here..?" You asked and he huffed.

"I live here." He answered with a smile and you frowned again before remembering that ZGDX did have an extra member that no one talked about for reasons unknown to you. So, maybe he was that person.

"So, with friend you mean you're my brother's girlfriend?" He asked and you shook your head quickly, walking towards the man.

"I would never date him, he's too- Wait, Si-Cheng is your brother?" You asked in confusion and Lu Yue nodded, stealing a lollipop from Si-Cheng's stash, opening it and popping in his mouth.

"So, you're the previous member that... left?" You asked and he nodded, turning around to face you as he propped a leg up on his chair. He started the computer in front of him before looking at you.

"You know the password?" He asked, pointing at the computer and you nodded, telling him before leaning over to watch him open the game.

"You broke in to play?" "I didn't break in." He said, pointing a finger at you before focusing on the game again. You shrugged, grabbing the papers from the couch before moving to a gaming chair next to Lu Yue.

You heard the door open again a few minutes later and glanced over to see Tong Yao entering the room with her arms in the air. She looked sleepy as she looked at where Lu Yue sat, clearly confused as she dropped her arms.

"Cheng-ge? Didn't you go to buy me medicine?" She asked and you could tell by her speech that she was not sober.

"Why are you here before me?" She continued and Lu Yue turned around in his chair, raising an eyebrow at the girl. Tong Yao stared for a few seconds before her eyes widened, making Ly Yue smirk in response. That smirk dropped quickly though when Tong Yao ran off while screaming 'ghost'.

"Did she..?" "You scared her." You said, hitting his arm with the papers you held in your hand. He flinched back before giving you a look, which you returned with a laugh.

Seconds later, Tong Yao and Si-Cheng came back inside. Tong Yao had wrapped herself around Si-Cheng like a koala while Si-Cheng held her up like it was a normal thing for him.

"What?" You asked before hearing Lu Yue's camera click, phone pointed at the couple in front of you.

"Send that to me, please." You whispered and Lu Yue nodded while Tong Yao looked even more confused as before.

"You're not a ghost?" "Have you ever seen a ghost this handsome?" He teasingly said and you rolled your eyes.

"Overconfident much?" "I know my worth." He winked at you before looking back at the pair.

"But you two look so much alike..?" "We have the same set of parents. Of course, we look alike." He replied, smiling at Tong Yao as she quickly got out of Si-Cheng's arms. You didn't stay much longer after that, stealing one of the empty rooms to sleep in.

You saw him again at the match, the one you helped plan the first time you saw him, as you sat with him and Xiao Rui in the waiting room. The game had started a few minutes ago and everything was going as planned. Xiao Rui had left the room to get some drinks and food and you had laid down on the couch, your head laying next to Lu Yue's legs. He was on his phone, scrolling through the comments of the livestream. You patted his leg, pointing at the drink that stood next to him. He gave it to you without even blinking and you smiled.

"Thanks, handsome." You said and he rolled his eyes at your teasing.

"Don't worry about." He answered, still scrolling through his phone and you sat up.

"Where's my nickname?" You said, almost like you were offended and he looked at you before smiling.

"What do you want be called then? Beautiful, pretty? Light of my life?" He jokingly asked and you pondered for a few seconds before looking back at him.

"Beautiful is fine." You answered, winking at him before laying back down. This time you laid your head on his legs, sighing as you turned to face the tv. You watched the game, which had just started again, while tapping your finger on his leg nervously. He didn't say anything as he kept typing on his phone. Xiao Rui didn't say anything either as he walked in, holding two bags of fried chicken.

"Oh, cheat day!" You exclaimed, leaning forward and grabbing a piece before almost falling off of the couch. Lu Yue was quick to catch you, hand wrapping around your waist to pull you back on the couch. You smiled at him before handing him a piece, which he gladly took. You took your own piece again, which you didn't have to reach for anymore as Xiao Rui had placed it closer to you. You happily ate it before watching the scream again, trying to not eat the rest of the food before everyone else came.

The match ended not much later, ZGDX winning by a close call and you turned around. You looked up at Lu Yue, poking his side softly.

"They won." You said with a smile and he moved his phone so he could look at you.

"I'm aware, sweetheart. I can hear." He said and you rolled your eyes before looking at Xiao Rui, who was staring at the pair of you with wide eyes.

"Are you dating?" He asked, pointing at you two and you looked up at Lu Yue.

"She wishes." He commented and you rolled your eyes, ignoring the obvious pang in your heart as you took another piece of food. The rest of the team joined the dinner, all happily grabbing the food and drinks from the table and basically nothing remained.

"Well, glad I ate some beforehand..." You mumbled sadly, having wanted a piece more and almost like Lu Yue read your mind, he handed you a piece he had taken. You took it, happily eating it before thanking him happily. The others looked at you two as you interacted, almost all of them thinking the same thing.

No way you two were just friends.

In the bus, you sat near Lu Yue as you tried to talk to him from the other side. He didn't hear you as well and you were quick to sit next to him, continuing your talk like it was normal. The group also noticed that Lu Yue had put his arm behind you, making sure you didn't fall as the bus stopped and sped up.

"So, I'm right. Right?" You asked and Lu Yue nodded, chuckling at how weird the conversation had become.

"Yes, beautiful. You are right." He said and you pouted at his sarcasm, poking him a few times before leaning back into his arm. You leaned your head on his shoulder and sighed, looking at his phone screen while he scrolled through social media.

"Oh, that reminds me!" You suddenly said when you saw a dog pop up on his feed.

"There's this animal café near your dorm, we should really go there." You said and he looked up from his phone before nodding. Tong Yao was quick to answer as well, telling you she wanted to go as well and soon the whole group wanted to go.

So you planned it the next day, everyone sat in the café. All of you had a different animal hanging around them. You had a dog on your la and a cat had sat in your neck, paws clawing at your sweater but you didn't mind too much. The dog's attention was solely on you, eyes sparkling as you talked to him sweetly.

On the other side sat Lu Yue, silently brooding with a cat laid on his lap that he couldn't pet without losing a finger. His eyes were kept on you, annoyed at the lank of attention he was getting from you. You were soo busy with the dog since entering the café, which was already an hour ago now. He had been waiting for attention for an hour and he was only getting sulkier by the minute, but he wasn't able to move due to the sleeping cat that insisted on staying on his lap.

This was something that the other noticed, once again, and they all of them were quick to stifle their laughs as they watched Lu Yue with glee. There was just something fun about seeing him struggle.

When you were finally done with cuddling the dog, getting up softly while trying to remove the cat that now hung on your back. Once you did, you were fully aware of the eyes that were all on you.

"What?" You asked and K was the first to speak up.

"Your boyfriend wants attention." He said, eyes gluing themselves back on his phone, other hand mindlessly petting the chinchilla on his lap. You saw everyone else hide their laughter and Lu Yue's glare to K didn't go unnoticed either.

"Does he now?" You asked, eyes now focusing on Lu Yue while you made your way over to him. You sat next to him, the cat that was on his lap jumped off with a loud huff and you couldn't help but snicker.

"So, you have my attention now." You teased and Lu Yue rolled his eyes at you again, grabbing his phone. You quickly snatched in from his hands.

"You want attention, so no phones." You said, waving the phone in front of him before stopping when his lock screen flashed on. It was a picture of you, one he had taken of you not so long ago.

"Seriously?" "What? You said I needed to have a prettier lock screen." He replied, snatching his phone from your hand with a light blush on his face.

"You should've picked a prettier picture then!" You said and he scoffed.

"Sent me one then." He said before getting up and walking to the door, claiming he was leaving. You quickly got up, joining him as you waved everyone goodbye and not forgetting to pet the dogs that followed you as well before you exited the café.

"So, back to the dorm?" You asked and Lu Yue nodded, pulling up his mask when he heard some nearby people whisper his name. You sighed, looking around before pulling him with you to a taxi instead of the bus stop. You gave the address before pulling Lu Yue into the backseat next to you. He pulled his mask down again, sighing loudly before leaning his head back.

"Good idea." He mumbled softly and you patted his shoulder softly before staring out of the window.

After 15 minutes, you arrived at the dorm and Lu Yue was quick to leave the cab unlike you.

"Thank you, sir." You thanked the driver, paying for the ride before exiting as well, watching the cab drive off before turning to face Lu Yue.

"So, we're ordering some food?" You asked and he nodded with a grin on his face as he grabbed his phone, immediatley typing in your favorite restaurant while walking to the dorm. He had grabbed your hand as well, fingers interlocking with yours as he dragged you along. Entering, you kicked the door closed behind you and followed Lu Yue to the couch. Both of you sat down and you were quick to lay down on his lap. He didn't say anything to you, his hand just moving to lay on your abdomen while he ordered on the phone.

"Oh, get me some extra of those." You commented and he nodded before repeating that to the person on the phone. He finished after ordering two or three more things to share in between you.

"I'll pay this time." "My God, I'm marrying you." You said and he looked down at you. "Is that a promise?" He asked and you raised an eyebrow at him before sitting up, leaning a bit closer to him.

"Only if we go to Disney World for a honeymoon trip." You said and he chuckled.

"We can go without marrying, you know. Tell me when you want to go, I'll book it." He answered and you paused for a second, staring at him in shock while waiting to see if he was joking.

"Seriously?" You asked, chuckling awkwardly and he only nodded at you. You stared at him for a few more seconds before smiling brightly.

"Oh my God, I only love you more now." You confessed before realizing what happened as you watched his face morph into confusion.

"Well, that's got out unexcitingly." You mumbled to yourself as you sighed loudly.

"Did you just say you love me?" He asked and you nodded at him, slightly annoyed at him.

"Yes, I did." You got a bit closer to him. "What about it?" You joked, thinking that he didn't mind it too much. What you didn't expect, was for him to lean closer to you as well. You could feel his breath on your face and flinched back slightly at his sudden move.

"I knew you liked my handsome looks." He joked back and you sighed, pushing him back in annoyance before falling back into the couch.

"Don't ignore me now, I want answers." He said, pulling you back up so you sat closer again. You gave him yet another annoyed look, not that he cared too much.

"How long?" "Look, I'm not boosting your ego more. It's already to big to fit in this building." You replied and he pouted at you.

"Can I at least have a kiss then?" He asked and you rolled your eyes before realizing what he said, eyes widening at his statement.

"What?" "You heard me." He said and you waited a few more seconds to process before he took initiative and leaned forward, placing a short kiss on your lips.

"Wait, wait, wait... You like me too?" "Was that not obvious?" He asked and you thought about it before realizing that it was, indeed, obvious.

"I'm stupid now." "Nah, we both are." He said before pushing you back slightly and laying on top of you with a smile.

"I can do this now." He joked and you shook your head. "You were allowed to do that before as well." You replied and he pushed himself up, smiling at you before kissing you again.

"I like doing that more." He said as he laid down again, hugging you tightly. You smiled before leaning your head on the pillow behind you. It was quiet for a good 5 seconds before Lu Yue spoke up again.

"So was it my good looks or my wonderful personality?"
