"Wait."

Shaking hands darted back as quickly as they came, and the scientist's mouth followed suit. He stared down at Nightmare with narrowed eyesockets, mouth slightly parted in a seeming attempt to speak words that refused to escape.

The King of Darkness blinked a single blue eye, meeting clouded jade- blue, really, it's always been blue- and winced. "Back up."

Like a robot obeying the commands of its creator, Sci took a step back. Nightmare flinched even more. "That- no- I mean- I definitely won't complain if you kiss me again, but..."

He cocked his head to the side, staring at the skeleton like one would a feral cat. "I thought you hated me?"

"...I... we... had a terrible realization." Sci whispered, slowly, bringing a hand up to dig his phalanges into the fabric of his already-frayed scarf. "I might be in love with you."

Nightmare squinted. "What?"

"I might be in love with you." The man hissed. "And I'm still processing- what that means."

"...we." he corrected, quieter. "We're still processing... everything."

Nightmare took a step closer. When Sci didn't back away, he repeated the motion, raising a hand. "May I-?"

His bones trembled. "Yes."

The scientist was promptly and immediately greeted with a hand spearing the end of his scarf, dragging him down to Nightmare's level. Sci sputtered and choked, a single curse escaping his non-existent lips before they were once again captured by the king's own.

And then Nightmare pulled away. "There. Now we're both even."

Blueberry blue spilled across Sci's skull. "I'm going to shove glass down your throat."

Nightmare shrugged, the motion clean and quick as he ducked around the frantic attempts to seize his shoulders. "You can try."

"NIGHTMARE."

"Scientist-"

Once more, a mouth closed against his own. Gentle hands ran through the dusty feathers against his back, ever-trembling, ever scarred.

Sci pulled away, pressing his skull against Nightmare's own. "You're utterly insufferable."

The king paused, eye wide- then smiled. "But you're mine."

His words were only met with a grumble and another desperate kiss.

finally been giving my copy of candlekeep mysteries a proper read now that i want to run a realms campaign. was anyone going to tell me there were some actually interesting adventures in here?? so far, my favourites are “the scrivener’s tale” and “the canopic being”, and i feel like the latter could definitely be adapted for this silverymoon campaign idea

#obviously lore of lurue would be super fitting but the whole storybook railroad idea didn’t really interest me #and it loses all its stakes BECAUSE of that #like whether or not the PCs win or lose they get saved by selune and it’s like. Cmon #i might readapt it to be like. something that happens in the present though #could be interesting bc i do want to use that corrupted avatar of lurue statblock #lurue’s lore from that one 2e deities book mentions a sacred grove in the north so it could be THAT that’s being corrupted #especially if it’s set in present day faerûn after the war of the silver marches #but even in the past it could be interesting as like fallout from the hellgate keep debacle

Hello friends! I've been working on this post for quite a while. I wanted to show you all my Sithywans, including art reference for them!

First up, we have Darth Vain, the masked figure who works in the shadows to improve the galaxy. (Or so he thinks)

Was Dooku's Padawan. Fell to the Dark Side with his master.

His death was faked when he left the Jedi Order. Obi-wan Kenobi is officially deceased.

Legitimately thinks he's helping the galaxy.

Wears a mask to hide his identity. (And, it's looks cool)

Operates in the shadows

Only reason he's Darkside is because he feels it is too late to turn back. (He is so sad)

Arm and leg cut off by Maul (pointing to his prosthetics)

Next we have Darth Lurus, the seductive, arrogant Sith who craves power above all else.

Darth Lurus (pronounced like "Lure-us")

Embodies "seduction" to the Dark Side.

Relies heavily on soft power. e.g. Charm, negotiations, etc.

Freelance Sith (no master). Took (jedi) Maul as his apprentice.

Has seduced many to his cause, and used his allies to kill the Emperor.

Politically married to Satine. Rules as Emperor.

Has many hairstyles and outfits. (pointing to Lurus)

See-through sleeves (pointing to sleeves)

Finally, we have Darth Judicious, the revenge-obsessed, horror movie monster-esque Fallen Jedi.

Turned right after Qui-gon was murdered by Maul. (Qui-gon was unable to tell Obi-wan about Anakin)

Obsessed wth revenge and justice.

Thinks he can never go back to the light, but fully embraces his violent tendencies.

REFUSES to go down in combat. Will do ANYTHING to gain the upper hand.

Clings tightly to his past. Keeps torn Jedi robe with him. Obsessed with Maul.

INSANE. DO NOT ENGAGE.

Pupils are red when light shines on them. (pointing to eyes) (Disclaimer: do not ask me how this works, I have no idea. I just think it's fun)

Torn Jedi robe (pointing to the ribbon around his waist)

Keeps moving, no matter how badly he's damaged. (pointing to his broken foot and the blood on the floor)
