This is a terrible thing to post on Scara's birthday (happy birthday my son!), but I finished it today and the irony was too funny pfft. The Dottore Alice wedding was a miserable time for all but maybe the bride and groom and sort of the Tsaritsa. Ajax elsewhere still has the light in his eyes and has no idea what's coming haha.
(what is their ship name... Dottolice... Alottore...Alik...Zandice... I think I like the last one the best but there's other combos too)
(also if it isn't clear, Alice is a couple months pregnant with Klee here haha)

MGSV really is *so* misogynistic it is honestly hard to believe. It has ONE named female character, just one. And holy shit, the things they make that single woman do.
I don't know what happened. Or how Kojima thought what we was doing was defensible.
I could just link to the introduction of the SKULL snipers from Mission 28 Code Talker but even that I feel is so unbelievable to see with your own eyes that it would exit the mind as soon as it stopped playing.
Literally every criticism made during that era toward's this game is accurate. Every single one.
It might legit be the WORST example of "male gaze," literally literally ever. Out of everything.
If MGSV had outright no women in it whatsoever it would be better than what this is.
The cutscene for when Big Boss comes to Mother Base after not showering was what sealed it for me.
And the fact that there were people back then who thought they could defend this perhaps makes it even more deranged.

if you are 1) currently in a university where your student healthcare covers hormone therapy, and 2) in a good financial, emotional, and social position to start hormone therapy, i would recommend pursuing it. because in my experience, it's a huge pain in the ass to get an endocrinologist once you're on your own

Oho! Six Sentence Sunday? I don't know her. Ten Sentence Sunday, however, seemed appropriate given the content of the sentences. (You'll see)
From A Dangerous Affinity, written ages ago, but now nearly at the point of being integrated into the text instead of hanging off of the edge of the story unconnected and yet deeply adored. Baz POV.
“C’mon Baz. Ten minutes.” He’s already shifting toward me, shoulders aligning with mine in invitation.
It twists fire from my toes up to my throat. “Fine. Fine. Ten minutes.”
His fingers slide up my cheeks and he licks into my mouth and I press back. I open to him.
...it’s more than ten minutes.
I continue to be on a good writing streak. I've written every day for ... three weeks? Sometimes words in my Agatha/OFC smutty thing, which I'm really enjoying writing, but more often than not right into ADA. (Which superseded 115k words this week! 🎉🎉🎉🎉)
My friends, thanks for the tags @hushed-chorus and @stitchyqueer ! And everyone else, wanna share some sentences with me? Maybe not even something you've written recently. Something from an old beloved story, perhaps? Or if that's not it for you today (or ever), then consider this an offer of a hug if you want one.

For your commissions, do you draw animals? Like could I ask for my Warden and her Mabari together? Thank you for your time :)
Oh, very good question, thank you! I hadn't considered that haha
But yes! Animals/pets/familiars in general and Mabari in particular are very much welcome :]

oksies hi starting a new thread of get to know you
haii I'm moth and also thea you may call me any nickname as well <3
I love musicals so so much (niche and popular!! basic-shaming is lame)
I am superhero obsessed (augh pied piper)
doctor who is my autism (yay river sonf!!!!)
good omens heoughhhhhhhh
super excited to meet you <3333333
Hi moth!! You can call me tetra. Don't worry that's not my real name or anything tho. I took it from the concept of tetrachords in music.
If we're generous about what we call superheroes, then maybe most of the things I like are superhero based. I mean obviously there's marvel and dc, but then there's stuff like dpxdc, sonic the hedgehog (idk if I've ever heard him called a superhero but he kinda is), if we count magical girls then like. Sailor moon and madoka magica
I haven't seen any episodes of good omens, but I read a really good fanfic of Crowley going to therapy a while back, and a couple funny ones with like yelp reviews of Aziraphale's bookstore. Plus I love the good omens analysis posts on here. I feel like maybe I half know some of what's happened in the show but also probably haven't scratched the surface. I'm kinda bad at watching TV shows, so there's a lot of stuff that I know from fandom but haven't seen. For another example of that, I've only watched one or two episodes of Sonic Prime. I reblog posts for it and it sounds good but idk. Just bad at it.
I'm a much more casual fan of musicals, I think for the same thing as above where I just struggle to sit and watch something on purpose. But I listen to the music from them sometimes, I've read transcripts online of a couple, and i swoon whenever I see a post analyzing the meaning of a musical song, especially when they go beyond lyrics and start going into the music theory in the tune. I don't have the skills or knowledge to do that myself but I love it so much
(when the singer changes their technique to enhance the meaning,, when this or that chord is a step outside the key to symbolize change or isolation or anything,,, using instruments as symbols for this or that character,,, tbh it doesn't have to be a musical even shout out to that youtube video by Scruffy on how fnaf's audio and sound effects make it scarier)
Lately I've been bouncing back and forth between Sonic and DPxDC. With hints of Slay The Princess in there bc I saw part of a playthrough of that awhile ago and loved the concept. I reblog madoka magica stuff whenever I see it (except magia record bc I know next to nothing about it) because that stuff makes me lose my mind. The love the pain the hope the despair!! Homura is probably like my ultimate blorbo but I love all the five girls they're so cool. I actually read the manga instead of watching the show though so I'm not as familiar with all the music. Plus I think the show had some extra scenes. Although it's a little confusing bc I think some of the extra scenes I see are magia record so idk.
Also I'm a fan of arts and crafts and will reblog that kind of thing once in a while, along with cute cat stuff.
Super excited to meet you too!

outta curiosity: from all the Accidentally Undercover AUs, which Dusk/Dawn/Robin would be the most dangerous to encounter on a mission (from a rival agent/civilian's perspective)?
Going through the sub au masterlist to compare quick vibes for them all - there's a few easy criteria to first get out of the way.
Most dangerous are definitely the senior field agents - newbies are more lighthearted and playful, and while that comes out more in the rivalry it also applies to rival agents/ other hostiles/ civilians who decide to interfere somehow to a lesser degree as well. (Dealing with civilians who simply saw too much is not part of their job description, so they don't bother unless they have to, and then they have to play nice). Field agents is simply a given - whats a lab tech gonna do? command center doesn't even interact with non fellow agents.
But out of senior agent Robin, Dawn, and Dusk, who's the most dangerous?
It's Dusk.
Now, I half expected it to be Dawn, because we all love rival Dawn and his claws and teeth on display. But Dawn, ultimately, is an undercover agent, and very aware of consequences and not drawing too much attention.
Robin, dangerous as they are, is still human, and limited in strength and size. The most dangerous thing is to underestimate them, which does happen, but they're not superhuman. No perks like thermal vision or integrated tasers.
Dusk, on the other hand? Dusk only encounters hostiles when he has to get past them, with no social contract to adhere to. If there's an encounter where he has to fight, there's little thought of leaving behind no evidence (cleanup handles that) or not alerting other people (he'll just get rid of those, too). Dusk can go all out. He does, and as senior agent he has hardened past his playfulness, and he's so used to not holding back that he instinctively flashes his taser at Robin. As agent he doesn't have to be nice or polite (usually, and he's not good at it when he has to), and that will definitely translate into how he handles anyone who tries to make his job harder than it has to be.
So yeah, if you run into any of them, you might talk your way out of a fight with Dawn, you might somehow evade or disarm Robin, but piss of Dusk and he'll decide the easiest course of action is making sure you don't do that again and deal with the fallout later

Ok hang on, if the pants are like that because he wouldn’t wear a shirt due to sensory issues, then does the iconic cloak also bother him or, as you said with the sweater, it’s loose and big and maybe the material is just right that it’s comfortable for him? Now I wanna know what them cloaks is made of, I’ve seen a couple of various interpretations on the cloak, mostly being that it just kept as much of him unseen as possible, acted as a kind of thermal blanket to hide his body temp, etc. but I’m curious how this could fit into that equation. To me the cloak is as iconic to him as his leggings so I had to ask.
I like to think the cloak took some Workshopping to get right.
I think, especially when he was younger, the focus was more on keeping him hidden and everything seemed so Serious and Scary that he just kinda put up with it (despite the discomfort), especially with how insistent Dolorosa would've been (for his safety, of course.)
Eventually, though, it finally came up that it Sucked and he Hated It, so they went through a few more renditions before finding something that was okay.
His in-canon cloak seems to be bunched up in the front, across his chest and above where his elbows bend- which strikes me as kind of an odd design choice? I draw it more so the weight gathers and hangs from the base of his neck rather than his shoulders (like a normal cape/cloak). I guess the criss-crossing of it would probably help with weight distribution in this context as well.
In terms of material, though that's a bit tougher.
I feel like the Default for sweaters is wool, but if anyone approached me with a wool sweater I would Bite Them. So I always figured Kankri's sweater was some sort of blend of cotton and silk or something. I'd consider that a good material for texture/weight, and it would drape well in the context of a sweater.
So, taking that, I'd imagine Signless's cloak was probably something similar? Unsure of how readily available cotton would've been, but I imagine, with all the Moth Motifs and Various Other Bugs, silk would be Excessively Available to a Jadeblood. (or at least, the know how on how to gather/make/use it.) I don't know that a pure silk cloak would be great for travel purposes, though.

weird experience of feeling very strongly that "i don't want these pants, I have no interest in them, they're expensive, and theres no reason for me to buy them" and then an EXTREMELY strong directly conflicting feeling of "no but i DO want them, i want them extremely badly, holy shit please can i just buy them, i have the money for it"
(aka me and another headmate arguing over whether we should buy these pants bc i literally have zero interest in them and I think they're kind of ugly fdsjkl but he wants them so fucking bad)

the world when dc fans realise that sometimes people have different headcanons and ideas about characters and storyline and plots because comics inherently are kinda minimalistic + contradictory with lots of different possible reading and interpretations and that doesn't make someone else's opinion wrong just different and you don't have to hate on everything that you don't agree with:
