Throw back to McM London 2023
This cosplay got a lot of love at the con, I felt oddly known by anyone who came up to me and I was treated with so much respect <33
Lovely people <3
I may use this cosplay again to bring more Ghost fans smiles
If anyone did see me and took a photo at McM London, please show via reblog or dm, I'd love to see! <3

“I always feel as if I cannot keep up with other people. Everyone else seems to have a destination in mind.”
photos by Will Eastwick-Field (insta)
cosplay made by me (sans shirt and boots), 3D printed brooches purchased from the Dangerous Ladies
taken at MCM London May 2023
Made a Linhardt cosplay last October and got some pics of him at May MCM! Linhardt was originally a cosplan from 2020 (lol) so I’m really glad I finally got around to making it last year. He’s hands down my fave from three houses and honestly a character I relate to a lot, not to mention I love his timeskip design, so it was such a joy to finally cosplay him!
I think if anything the cosplay looks better irl since all the green ends up looking a little… plain? in the pics, but I was really happy with the fabrics I chose for this outfit and I think they come across well in the detail shots!!

In 2019 Lion Gate Estate in Detroit, Michigan was put up for sale, and I posted it on my old blog. It was taken off the market b/c it hadn’t sold, but was re-listed in 2021. Here it is 2023, and it still hasn’t sold. As of today, the 3bd. 2.5ba. 1951 expanded Cape Cod style home has been on the market for 568 days. It has recently been reduced $20K and is now listed for $425K. If you haven’t seen it before, you’re in for a treat.
As you enter, white, black & silver elegance abounds. Note that the living room may be smaller than it looks due to the 3 mirrored walls.
A remodeled white & gold dining room awaits with 2 creepy gold elves.
But, then, the remodeling stops and you’re transported back to 1951 in the time capsule kitchen.
Look at the original retro ovens and cooktop. I’m guessing that the corbels were added. All the cabinetry and laminate counters are also original.
In the dining space, there is a painted-to-match wrought iron garden set and coordinating artwork on the ceiling.
The family room features a full wall-to-wall carpet on the ceiling.
The main bd. They really focused a lot on the ceilings in this home.
If you look beyond the statuary, you can see that the bath has perfectly preserved mid-century modern tiles and plumbing fixtures.
Statuary lines the hall.
The 2nd bd. The beds look fake- they’re too pointed, like they’re made of wood.
Here is another original MCM bath.
Put on your disco shoes, we’re headed to the basement.
Here we have a club atmosphere featuring Elvis on stage.
There’s a guest powder room down here, too.
Here we are in the garage. The door is decorated with vintage car logos.
Look at the wall, it even has lanterns.
Thru the sliding doors in the garage, you enter a pool room, but there’s so much art to move before you can play.
Here’s a small patio w/a fountain.
There’s an inground pool and patios all around the house.

Aurora, shot at MCM May 2023 by @foodandcosplay
Aurora was a dream costume of mine for many years - the blue dress in particular! I’m so glad I conquered my fear of the neckline and stretch fabric sleeves 😅
I’m absolutely going to wear her again this year, I’d love a beautiful location shoot with her. Especially as I now have a crown that fits on my head and the necklace!

I thought I'd end the year with a list of good things that happened in 2023 because it's always important to remember the positive times:
January:
started sewing because of Ghosts and made my first cosplay
April:
searched for Easter eggs in the garden with my brother and his fiancé because you're never too old for an egg hunt
May:
met @iris-in-the-rain at West Horsley Place and had the most wonderful time exploring the House and taking silly pictures
visited Stonehenge, HMS Victory and the Mary Rose
met Amanda Tapping, one of my childhood heroes, at FedCon
July:
turned 35 and had my family come around for a visit
August:
Saw my first Shakespeare play at the Globe and it was fantastic!
met @plague-ghost-lover and had a wonderful time at Highclere Castle and in Avebury
saw the LotR Musical live on stage for the first time since 2008 and immediately teared up when hearing the Springle Ring again after all this time
September:
went on vacation in Austria for 35th time and saw my brother's proposal to his then-girlfriend and now fiancé
(sort of) got a promotion at work
October:
made my second cosplay and wore it to MCM - first time cosplaying at a con!
met Mat, Larry, Jim and Martha for the very first time, saw them twice on stage in one day
got my Button House Archives book signed by them and got a compliment on my cosplay from Martha
saw Jurassic Park in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall - my first time ever seeing it on the big screen!
November:
joined my local line dance group after not dancing for three years because Ghosts series 5 reminded me how much I loved it before the pandemic
December:
planned another trip to England to see Mat in A Midsummer Night's Dream
celebrated Christmas and New Year's with my family
All in all, 2023 was a fantastic year full of adventures, and I can't wait to see what new adventures 2024 will bring.
Guten Rutsch, as we say in Germany! See you next year!
