...that's why clocks are round!

The story that Cypressfoot talks about in this issue is a reference to Issue 2, where she doesn't get very far into it except saying RoseClan's name for the first time. What she does end up telling is an expanded version of Nightberry's story from Issue 7, with more details and specific character names. And yes, it does indeed confirm that Longest-Claws and an early form of his predator gang were the ones who destroyed the original lost Clans.

In the first panel on the 3rd page, I included a couple cameos of other comicker's characters. They belong to thegreatmaddu, Giogeth, Songdogx, and StarrySwirly.

If you aren't familiar with the seasonal antler cycle and are very confused by why Deepdark is covered in blood goop, he's in the process of shedding! During the summer months, while deer grow their antlers, they're covered with a fuzzy substance called velvet. This fuzz is in fact full of veins and tissue, so in mid-fall when the antlers begin to shed, they can appear very bloody as the velvet falls off, leaving those familiar, calcified pointy antlers behind.

Next issue is a big one.

Meet the Fam!

Quite a while ago, two warrior clans formed, called Pansyclan and Azaleaclan. They're very much different in terms of lifestyle and attitude.

Azaleaclan is vicious and cruel to outsiders. They usually don't stand for weakness and will antagonize those they believe are soft.

Pansyclan is the opposite, they're generally kind and have a very positive outlook on life. They treat outsiders with kindness and often chose to be good even to Azaleaclan.

Two warriors, Shadowmouse of Azaleaclan and Bloomlion of Pansyclan, have grown up under their respective lifestyles and yet couldn't help finding and falling for each other. They mange to keep the relationship a secret until they discovered they were going to be parents.

Upon this discovery, they both chose to leave their clans and raise their family together, calling their new group, Roseclan.

They had a single son, Cougarkit, and later adopted an orphaned molly named Meadowkit. It's just the four of them for now but they look forward to expanding in the future.

Shadowmouse is the former proud Azaleaclan warrior, now she's a proud mother and protector of her family. She's small but packs a punch, she is also trans and was originally born a tom. She's the little sister of Azaleaclan's current deputy, Streamthrush, though she seems to disown her family.

Bloomlion is the sweet former Pansyclan warrior, and currently looking after her and Shadowmouse's two kits. She was actually open about her relationship to her clan and they're aware of why she left after having Cougarkit. The only family she left is her mother, Creekbranch, whom Bloomlion still has some contact with.

Cougarkit and Meadowkit are Shadowmouse and Bloomlion's kits. As already mentioned, Cougarkit was born before his parents formed Roseclan, but he doesn't remember Pansyclan at all since he was hardly a couple days old when Bloomlion left. He's rambunctious and often does dumb things when no one is watching. Meadowkit isn't biologically related to any of them, but she's their daughter just as much as Cougarkit is their son. She hardly speaks and doesn't remember her birth mother, so she is closely attached to her adopted moms.

Moons 23-25: DarkFoot's take He wasn't quite sure why things happened the way they did- shuffling his paws, he waited for MarshFleck to come back inside. Their newly built nursery, housing PoppyClans first ever litter, felt empty, despite the cats piled inside. FallenStar was curled tightly around two squirmy bodies. -- There had been four. "There's four kittens-" FallenStar had chirped, "So why don't we each name one?" LoudWhisker had gasped in shock, surprised she'd let them make such an important decision. MarshFleck pushed him out of the way to get up close and personal. "Yes!!! The little red and white one, I call dibs!" "Wha- MarshFleck!" LoudWhisker huffed. "You can't be serious- these aren't our kittens!" DarkFoot didn't say much, sniffing over the little orange, flame colored one.

"That's where you are wrong, dear LoudWhisker-" MarshFleck proclaimed, puffing out his chest. "As far as I'm concerned, we all have a duty to protect and raise these kit's as a clan." Aka, 'Don't ruin this for me, I want to name a kitten so bad', DarkFoot translated.

With FallenStars insistence, they each chose a mewling lump of fur to dub with the prefix they would have for the rest of their little lives. MarshFleck swaddled the little molly he'd claimed earlier, dubbing her 'BogKit' (not at all after himself), lifting her up and making faces at her. FallenStar cuddled tightly around the smallest molly, with her owl like markings and tiny, wiggling nose. MeadowKit sounded like a lovely name. LoudWhisker caved, and rested his paw gently atop SwishKit's back. 'Because his markings are like swishes of air.' he beamed. 'Really? Swishes?' MarshFleck shot back. They began to argue. DarkFoot sniffed at the small flame colored tom again. He wasn't moving much, and his heartbeat sounded quick; though, he supposed he'd be a little freaked out too, if four big cats were standing over him, minutes after birth. DarkFoot didn't remember much from his time as a newborn, of course, but he knew it had just been him and his Mama. Touching the kit with his nose, his eyes popped open wide. He was soft, like the down of a duck. DarkFoot was a simple cat. DownKit would do.

"It's nice to meet you, DownKit." He whispered, low, hidden under the sound of Loud and Marsh's bickering. "I hope we get to be good friends." -- DownKit's place at FallenStar's side was so cold. Curling up next to her, he pressed his face where the kitten had lay against her belly, huffing at her fur. It still smelled like him, and milk, and now- it smelled empty. DarkFoot hoped StarClan was taking care of them. He hoped they weren't too lonely up there, as the first two true poppyclan spirits. Closing his eyes, DarkFoot refused to cry. Not in front of FallenStar, who still heaved into her nest. He wished StarClan had taken him, instead.

shoutout to oomfs kirby warrior catting reminding me about the warrior cat designs i made for chavra and sir arthur. this is old art (literally all the way back from august) but i still like the designs + art so i'm posting it now

written notes since i know theyre small

(regarding mossshade) her naming situation is finicky because in the context of the og story, she'd 100% be a longer who'd be a really young kit before she got abandoned. maybe she'd just be meadowkit forever?

but i like the name mossshade. contrasts very nicely with meadowstar

maybe she'd get her warrior name eventually from arthur/meadowstar after all is said and done? in an honourary way iguess?

i do NOT know how the cloning aspect is gonna work in this AU. like i seriously think the only way chavra can come to exist in a warriors AU is if nightmare and arthur literally mate together. is there any new warriors lore that can somehow rationalize this

I drew my favorite super background mom I adore so much she’s amazing and I’m obsessed with how it came out. I actually toyed with basing their pelt after a Pacific Golden Plover or a European Golden Plover but when I tried to make it work I didn’t like it so I backtracked to a more her design with a lot of flower motifs. My love for it has been resurfaced by the amazing @bonefall and everyone should go check out their ongoing rewrite it’s so cool

-The flower on her pelt is a potentilla which means “Little Powerful One” which is so cute to me bc of its background as a mom who lost all their kits. I’m retconning her ‘canon’ kits and having them have four being Lilykit, Meadowkit, Daisykit, and Dandykit bc I like them

-She is a tortie and while it is fluffy and mom shaped she is also incredibly buff esp for a Windclan cat. They could knock out a cat with a good hit and I love that for it

-She is and never was Onestar’s sister in my mind and I like it having a sister tho that’s completely non canon, I’d name them Dawnsong for anyone wondering

-Hc wise I think their aro pan with a very clear preference towards famine cats and Genderfluid using She/It/They

(ID- Morningflower is a very buff, thick furred cat and is facing the left with its head to the camera, back front leg pointed up with a claw, and tail up. She is mostly cream with light brown on their paws, tail, face, ears, and its rump. Darker brown is on their paws, tail end, rump, nose, ear tips, and ear tufts. Orange is on her petal like bangs, nose in a flower shape, and on its side and tail in petal like shapes. Yellow is dotted like petals on its side and tail, on the edges of her bangs, and in her eyelashes. They have one fang poking out and their mouth is open really showing off its fang that usually pokes slightly out of the left side of her mouth. Her expression is pretty chill but slightly prideful. On its back is the word “MorningFlower” with a stylized ‘i’ making the dot a sun or flower. End ID)

"Issue #27: Little Paws Take Little Steps"

I'm glad I was finally able to call back to Issue 8, and see where Daffodilpaw has been mentally since then. As with all our apprentices, she's done some growth since then, and Slugpelt's conversation with her kids in Issue 18 affected her deeply. A concept I think is interesting but not explored enough is when someone is fully aware they have a problem, or could possibly fall into something bad, but still know they might be unable to resist it. That's what Daff is dealing with.

We've also got a follow-up on Mallowstar's discussion with Cootstorm in Issue 6. Seems like he's gotten more steadfast in his plans since then! Blacknose is a big influence on him, since she's a stone-cold badass. She doesn't take shit from anybody.

I always love drawing the BlackMallow kittens. That's a given. It was briefly mentioned in Issue 25, but Cormorantpaw loves kids, and he's great with them. He treats them with the kindness he wishes he'd been given.

So can I ask about what your rewrite is? And the banner on top! On curious about that!

Sure! It is a full 6-and-half arc rewrite of the books, based around adding more genetic diversity and cool stuff. I got sick of having every character be like 4th cousins by the 5th Arc, which is why i made this au, and then it sort of spiralled into self-indulgent headcanons and ideas.

Rest of it under the cut because it got long

The banner is art i made for Book 8 of Arc 1, which is fanmade. Book 7 and 8 follow Scourge and Firestar from a moon after the tigerclan fight to just after Squilf and Leaf's birth. Scourge survives Book 6 due to Firestar sparing him and ripping his collar off, and he surrenders himself as prisoner to thunderclan. Book 7 is about his rehabilitation, relationship with firestar & thunderclan as a whole, and his 'apprenticeship', while Book 8 is about family bonding and helping Bloodclan navigate existing without Scourge (or the murder)

Scourge in this au is similar to jayfeather, sort of cold and grumpy and sassy, but a begrudging softie underneath. His warrior name is Icefang, and he is, of course, joined by his (barely surviving) right paw toms, Bone(claw) and Brick(fur). Brick didn't wanna change his name.

Through a series of events he never explains to anyone, he casually shows up to camp one day with a pair of kits and claims them as his own. Some think he had them, some think their from bloodclan, he finds the debate very funny and feeds the betting pool until his death, which is literally almost in Arc 5. King of bullshitting.

The scene from the banner is near the end of Book 8, where Firestar, Scourge, Tommy (brother), and Cloudtail take their kits (Squirrelkit & Leafkit, Meadowkit & Foxkit, and Whitepaw) to go meet the rest of their kittypet family.

As for who Scourge raises his kits with, that'll have to wait until his family tree. You'll be surprised.

I do want to note that im aware these books overlap with firestar's quest, and thats because they replace it. I dont like skyclan, their replaced by bloodclan in this rewrite.

Anyway, thats the explanation. Feel free to ask about anything i bring up in my posts, i've thought far too much about this rewrite.

hiiiiiiiii so. i figured i would just. post this here. jus 4 fun :) ive been doign one of these since like 2018/2019 so its jus kinda been a Tradition for me to do one evry year so. heres this years summary of art :)

the january and febuary drawings are of me n my gf but specifically versions that she (and i) created based off of. i think the leviathans from subnautica? hers is based off of the reaper leviathan n mine is based off of the ghost leviathan :)

the march drawing is of my ocs meadowkit (brown kit) and spottedkit (calico kit) jus. playing :) being kits :)

april's drawing is the drawign i did for my gf for our anniversary <:] im on the left, shes on the right,,, :]

the may drawing is of raiden and its Unfinished but its the only actual thing i rly Drew that month so. it can go there <3

june july and august are all of my warrior cats ocs :) june is of sedgepelt and hawkeyes (left to right, n also they r father and son), july is of mangopounce, strawberryleaf, and peachstone (left to right again, they're all siblings AND are named after fruit <3), and the last picutre in august is from an oc ref of my oc mistyleaf :]

september october and november are all drawings i did of me and my gf,,, in the first two drawings shes the one with the blonde hair n im the one with the brown hair n in the november drawing im the catgirl and shes the slime(?)girl <33

MOON 12/13 - GATHERING 13

"Harefawn has given birth to her kits! Bluekit and Troutkit are welcome additions to our clan."

Finchstar grinned, tapping her paws together. It had an old, faded scent that she swore she recognized, but other scents overlapped it, and she couldn't quite tell who it was. It was no matter, anyway. Beestar smiled at Finchstar.

"We also found a kit abandoned at our borders. Russetkit will be raised as Bluekit and Troutkit's sister." Beestar said. Inhale, exhale. She closed her eyes. "Along with that. Meadowkit and Floodkit are Meadowpaw and Floodpaw!"

The two apprentices froze under the attention, withdrawing away into their mentors. Galetuft laughed, pulling Floodpaw closer.

"That's all." Beestar sat down. Finchstar purred a congrats, and then stood.

"Our clan is faring well in the warmth of this time of year." Her eyes gleamed. "Some dogs were spotted in our territory, but they were pulled away by their Twolegs. Still be cautious, however."

Finchstar sat. Quickstar stood.

"Pikekit is Pikepaw."

Pikepaw, unlike Meadowpaw and Floodpaw, stood tall, especially when his name was shouted across the clearing. Quickstar sat.

"We have all sorts of rank changes, hm?" Stonestar asked to the air. "Brookpaw has earned their warrior name of Brookdapple, finally joining their sister in the warriors den."

"Were they not ready yet?" Finchstar asked.

"Nah. Sprained a paw. Wasn't gonna make them a warrior with a sprained paw, you know." Stonestar nodded. "If that's all...?"

"No complaints." Quickstar meowed.

"Let's go, then. Dismissed."
