how old is Prowl, Spike and Fang? Also DAYUM Deepdark is younger than Nightberry. Nightberry why is this young man so much more successful than you??? Copying this from an older ask: "Spike is 8-ish, Prowl is 11, and Fang is 12. For their relative species it means Spike is the youngest, Fang and Deepdark are a bit above middle-aged, and Prowl is old, but not elderly."

Mule deer have an average lifespan of 11 in the wild, so Deepdark is actually about the same age as Nightberry in terms of deer years. Also, don't diss Nightberry... she wouldn't want to run a cult. You should go read my "Sunny Skies and Deep Water" story if you want to see the two of them squaring off.

She was younger in my original drafts of the script, just like Plumstripe and Beeface were younger, but I've aged her up a bit since then. This is the line you're thinking of from Issue 3:

Which can still hold mostly true, I suppose. Egrettail is 6 years old, the same as Rainhaze and Slugpelt. She's not exactly an elder, but not quite as young as this early line was probably implying. Things tend to shift and change a bit as you write long projects!

"Issue #33: Hurt Me! Beat Me! Just Please Don't Leave Me!"

Thank you all for your patience while I worked on this! It's the longest issue of PATFW to date, so I hope you understand why it took me so long to produce. At the current pace it seems like issues will come out about every three weeks (or a little more), which is a bit funny to me. I called them "issues" as a reference to comic books and now look where I am. Full circle.

The boys are having a rough time of it, though, unfortunately. If it wasn't already abundantly clear, Cormorantpaw has some pretty severe abandonment and trust issues, which led to him keeping secrets from Pinepaw out of fear that he'd be left once again. But it's hard for Pinepaw to see that perspective when he's just lost his sister, and thinks that she possibly could've been saved... bad situation all around.

At least Thrasher is finally dead! That's worth celebrating, right? Both he and Crow died from a kick to the head, by the way, and the deer who killed Crow is Wild Rose's son Hyssop.

Okay, so this dude is the leader of a group largely centered around how cool murder is, and he certainly deserves that title, because he is, in fact, very good at murder. Some of the earliest roots of said group are from when he took down a bear singlehandedly (singlehoofed??? He's a murderous deer), and afterwards adopted a lot of the members of said bear's group of totally cool predators into his own murder group, some by force, some less so. He's very powerful, both in physical power and in influence. Also I'm just saying, if a round happened to be a theatre battle instead of a "can this character beat this character up", he would win that too. The latest issue as of writing this was just him putting on a play about how cool it was of him to murder that bear I mentioned before

Gu Xiang:

She's got a whip and knows how to use it! Was literally raised in a place where it's kill or be killed. her older brother/father/master is a bit insane but he tried really hard to raise her right which means that she is an absolutely feral child who has no cares about polite society and can and will start a fight anywhere anytime but like also has some baseline morals, even if killing in general isn't something that bothers her too much. Other than her older brother/father/master she was also raised by a group of women who were scorned from society and get revenge on men who are unfaithful to their lovers (via murder usually)

Reasons as to why one or the other would win are encouraged in the notes. Send in additional propaganda and I'll add it to the post!
