well originally I was disappointed in the lack of slow burn Papyton fics I could find, so I wanted to write one myself. then, with all the trauma and mental illness stuff, it’s somewhat of a coping mechanism as I have gone through some of these things and it’s comforting to see the characters suffer and then recover and go beyond it.

honestly it’s kinda hard to pick out a “fun” chapter because many of them are kinda dark, but the park adventure chapters were generally fun to write, and I did like writing the chapter where Mrs. Hawke invites Mettaton to dinner as well.

I feel like Lapis is a nice character, but that doesn’t give her an excuse to be a bit of a jerk. Yes, she has a tragic backstory and is healing too, but that doesn’t mean she can tear down Peridot like this. And I love lapidot, but I feel that their relationship is dysfunctional and even a little unhealthy. It’s so one sided it hurts, and I honestly think Lapis deserves to be held more accountable for her actions. She honestly makes me a little uncomfortable now.

mhm. the one-sidedness of their relationship always made me uncomfortable. i love their friendship and like obviously they really care about each other, but the way they were wasn’t healthy and it was never meant to be. peridot thought she could make up for the past and heal lapis, while lapis wanted to distract herself and never think about it. peridot eventually made the connection that talking about trauma and getting emotional only led to lapis yelling at her, so that led to lapis never healing and peridot changing herself/bending over backwards as a last resort. so yeah it was going nowhere and wasn’t healthy for either of them. and i don’t think lapis has any right to go to peri for comfort if that’s how it’s gonna be >:T

I’m looking for a fic that I’m 90% was posted in like February, pretty long but only one chapter I think, where Peter lives with Tony and pepper and then Morgan is born, and Tony isn’t paying attention to Peter but he doesn’t get jealous just sad, then one day Peter like doesn’t come home from patrol for a long time bc he like almost drowns and then when he does they finally talk it out. I can’t find it at all :(
