Hallo genuine question uh how did you start off writing? Did you always write dark witchy gothy kind of fics? I love ur fics a bunch btw was just rly curious.

Hi there!! Can I just say, I love my stuff being labelled as "dark witchy gothy" that makes me feel so cool haha. And it's so nice you like my writing so thank you!!

In terms of how long I've been writing, I've only been writing fic for the last two years, but I've been writing in some capacity my entire life really. Like I started writing short stories as a child because I had a really vivid, overactive imagination and it just continued. I entered short story and poetry competitions throughout my childhood and teen years and I ran and published a zine in my early 20s. And I'm an avid reader too. I worked in a bookshop when I was at university and I have a degree in English Literature, so writing, reading and studying literature have always been real passions of mine. I'm serious when I say I want to write a novel and be published one day.

In terms of the subjects and themes I tend to write about, I've definitely always been interested in them. Things like obsession, envy, voyeurism, desire, the threads between sex and violence, an attraction to dangerous people etc. I think this was informed by a lot of the films I watched as a young teen (I watched a lot of de Palma, a lot of Lynch, Michael Haneke, Powell & Pressburger, Hitchcock) and I think these left quite a profound impression on me and shaped my interests. This is so random but I was also completely obsessed with the second season of Buffy, which I watched when I was like 8, where Angel loses his soul and stalks Buffy and kills people she loves and breaks into her house and leaves drawings of her on her bed... and I have no idea why, but it shows you just how far back these kinds of subjects and behaviours have fascinated me.

Plus, as it's probably evident from my blog, I love the Gothic and I love old, dark fairytales. Part of my degree was studying Gothic lit and my first job after university was working as an assistant to my former Gothic Lit professor, where I helped him with research and preparing for classes and lectures. During this time and in my readings I became really fixated on the Byronic hero (a dark, brooding anti-hero with a dark or violent past) which is why I obsessively compare Terry Silver to characters like Bluebeard and Heathcliff and Richard Lovelace. I just think he's a marvellous example of a modern Gothic villain, and his dynamic with Daniel feels rooted in stories of the Gothic where a young innocent heroine becomes infatuated with a brooding anti-hero or villain, who becomes her downfall. Also see readings of Little Red Riding Hood, where the wolf is a symbol for a predatory older man.

Anyway sorry, is it writing advice you would like? Or advice on how to start writing fic? If it is, let me know and I can try to think of some tips (I'm not great at dispensing advice because my writing tends to just pour out of me without much discipline involved but I can try!) “Explain.” Amy held the stiff yet otherwise untarnished slice of pizza in front of Hitchcock and Scully, Scully’s eyes widened at the sight as if it was a chest filled to the brim with treasure.

“How did you find that?” He asked, tracking the pizza eagerly as Amy swung it from side to side in a gloved hand. “Where did you find that?”

“It was in the printer in the storeroom.” You jumped in, eager to find out how and why a slice of pie found its way into the office equipment. “So come on Scully, why did you put it in there?”

“I was hiding it.” He looked down towards the floor in well earned shame. “I wanted to save it for later but then they took the printer away and swapped it out for that new printer a few years ago, I don’t know why, you can’t even hide a pizza in there.”

“Why are you trying to put pizza in the printer?!”

“So that nobody steals it!” His eyes shifted over to Hitchcock suspiciously.

“Hey, don’t look at me like that! We made a deal; I’d never touch your pizza! Your pizza bagels are another thing, but a man’s slice is sacred.” Scully nodded in agreement and reached his hand over the table.

“I’m sorry man, I didn’t mean to accuse you like that.”

“It’s okay.” Hitchcock met his hand in the middle with his. “I’ve thought about it, I can’t lie.”

“You what!”

“I never would though!”

“GUYS!” Amy called them out, far louder than she intended causing the bullpen to go silent for a few moments. “Sorry everyone, carry on as normal.”

“Why’d you two stop flirting? Carry on…” You weren’t sure if they were actually twins separated at birth or lovers destined for each other but they were practically the same person in two bodies.

“No, be serious, this is a health code violation, if Holt ever saw this he would flip.”

“Did you not think to go back for it?” You grabbed the pizza from Amy’s grasp and slung it onto the table in front of him, as it hit the wood vinyl it broke in two, almost shattering completely. “You’re telling me it’s been in their for years and we’ve both touched it?”

“I don’t know where the storeroom is.” He admitted, reaching over for the pizza but having his hand slapped away by Amy. “I’ve never had a reason to go there, I have everything I need right here in my desk.”

“So, you’ve never needed staples or… paper?”

“Please sister, we’ve been using the same row of staples since the nineties.”

Όλοι γνωρίζουν πως ο πολυβραβευμένος σκηνοθέτης Elia Kazan (Ηλίας Καζαντζόγλου) έχει ελληνική καταγωγή ή ότι η διάσημη σταρ Jennifer Aniston είναι κόρη του γεννημένου στην Κρήτη Ελληνοαμερικανού ηθοποιού John Aniston (Γιάννη Αναστασάκη). Υπάρχουν, όμως, μερικοί διάσημοι άνθρωποι του σινεμά που κανείς δεν φαντάζεται πως έχουν ελληνικές ρίζες. HUGH JACKMAN Θεωρείται ένας από τους πιο ταλαντούχους ηθοποιούς του Hollywood. Τον πρωτογνωρίσαμε το 2000 στο «X-Men» στον ρόλο του Wolverine, που τον έκανε διάσημο. Ξεκίνησε ως κομπάρσος σε ταινίες κι εμφανίστηκε, μάλιστα, το 1928 στο «The Circus» του Charlie Chaplin. Το 1979 έκανε διάσημο σε όλον τον κόσμο τον Mel Gibson με το cult πλέον «Mad Max». George Miller, Πηγή εικόνας: Wikipedia EMMANUELLE BEART Η Emmanuelle Béart είναι από τις ωραιότερες πρωταγωνίστριες του Γαλλικού και όχι μόνο Κινηματογράφου. Οι τίτλοι των ταινιών μιλούν από μόνοι τους: «La belle noiseuse», «Manon des Sources», «Un Coeur en Hiver», «8 femmes», «Mission: Impossible», «Nathalie...». Βέβαια, δεν είναι ευρέως γνωστό πως η γιαγιά της (Nelly Guillery Nicolaidu) ήταν Ελληνίδα! Emmanuelle Béart, Πηγή εικόνας: Madame Figaro BETTY WHITE Η Betty White είναι ένας από τους θρύλους της αμερικάνικης τηλεόρασης, η οποία παραμένει ενεργή λίγο πριν κλείσει τον ένα αιώνα ζωής. Έπαιξε σε δεκάδες ταινίες, όπως: «Giant», «The Big Heat», «Affair in Trinidad», «The Stuff» κ.ά. Jason teamed up with the artist and writer Jason Douglas Griffin for an early book, My Name is Jason. Mine Too: Our Story. Our Way.

Jason credits Joanna Cotler, author and artist, and then publisher of her own imprint at HarperCollins, with teaching him how to write narrative and gave him the mantra: “Your intuition will take you farther than your education ever will.”

Jason admires writers who use verse for all or many of their books, specifically Kwame Alexander (poet and educator, and New York Times bestselling author of The Crossover: A Novel, winner of the Newbery Medal and a Coretta Scott King Honor) and Ellen Hopkins (New York Times bestselling author of Crank)

Alfred Hitchcock’s works (including Psycho and Rear Window), and Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining are examples of subtle ways that framing and design can make a viewer feel uncomfortable.

Quincy Jones said about producing music, “I always say you have to leave space for God to walk into the room.” That’s how Jason feels about the appearance of poetry in text.

The first scene of Boyz ‘n the Hood shows one kid asking another, “Do you want to see a dead body?”

Fresh Ink: An Anthology, edited by Lamar Giles (author of Fake ID and Spin), and Black Enough: Stories of Being Young & Black in America, edited by Ibi Zoboi (author of American Street, a National Book Award finalist, and Pride) are among the anthologies that Jason thinks are wonderful. He wonders why we’ve moved away from the short story format for younger readers.

The TV show High Maintenance is another example of vignette storytelling that Jason was going for with Look Both Ways

“Are you making up a fake name so we don’t track her on social media and when I mean we I mean Amy” Jake puffed out, staring at Rosa with a nervous smile.

“Yes”

Amy either didn’t hear them or didn’t care because she began to sing along with Terry “Diaz and her girlfriend sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g” Joke after joke and song after song. She couldn’t even think of a threat to the squad, because she knew you truly would love them and all of their weird habits and strange questions.
