Izuku Midoriya has had a pretty rough life, but he's made it to fourteen with two brothers and two mothers, so he's made it pretty far. Now he just needs to make it into UA and become a hero without using his quirk. And it would be a lot easier if his estranged, villain father would stop sending him letters, it makes him feel guilty about hating the guy.
When All Might gives him his quirk, Izuku realises that his dream is now going to become a lot easier. Now he just needs to convince Todoroki Shouto to use his fire, all without revealing or even using his own.

1. Brutality [Star Trek, Gen] - When Khan stares him in the eyes and states that he is brutal, Jim has to force down a laugh, because he knows that if it comes out, it will be harsh and loud and uncontrollably hysterical.
2. Multitudes [Star Trek, Kirk/Khan] - Jim Kirk is only twenty-two, but he feels ancient.
3. Flickering Hologram [Star Trek, Gen] - Winona Kirk has never spent enough time with her sons, too busy burying her sorrows in the comforting vastness of space.
4. Predetermined [Star Trek, Gen] - It’s been bugging Jim for a while, but one night he can't take it any longer, and so when the ship hums beneath his fingertips and the only sound in his quarters is the gentle susurration of the ventilation, Jim slips out of bed and over to his computer.
5. When the Wind Blows Through it [Harry Potter, Gen] - He had been able to see them as long as he could remember.

15. a disappearance, gathering weight [Joker Game, Sakuma/Miyoshi] - “I’m sorry I couldn’t come to your funeral,” Sakuma says, staring blankly at the ceiling.
16. What Tangled Webs We Weave [Emelan, Gen] - This is strange, thought Sandry.
17. Helping Hands [DAYS, Tsukushi/Everyone] - “Good job at practice today!” Kazama exclaimed, clapping a hand on Tsukushi’s shoulder.
18. burning in flight [Haikyuu, Sugahina] - “Do you think he and Kageyama are soulmates?” Tanaka says as Daichi does one last check of the gym before locking it up for the night.
19. thicker than water [Natsume’s Book of Friends, Gen] - Takashi came to live with them when Seiji was fourteen.
20. a starved dog’s logic [Fantastic Beasts, Graves/Credence/Grindelwald] - A week after the capture of Grindelwald, Percival Graves opens his front door to find a sodden, unconscious boy on his doorstep.
I... don’t think there’s really a pattern? They got shorter, I guess. With the titles, you can see an evolution (hint: Mal started making titles for me), but yeah... idk.
