I love that Gabriel twisted the ring...yet Adrien still managed to say this. He finally had a Felix moment. He even looks it, here.
I assume his ability to speak up had to do with the way Nathalie covered Adrien's hand with hers - and, as he said, he felt inspired by Marinette. Whatever the reason...he did it.
And then, when he left the house...this little moment with the Gorilla was huge. This was Adrien making his own path for the first time, even if it was just the walk to school. It was symbolic and so powerful.
Obviously I know this is not happening, because Leaks™, but Chlolila could have been a great malevolent equivalent to Feligami.
Hear me out.
On the one hand, we have this young girl who desperately wants to be loved — to the point that it drove her to madness. She has great potential for ✨ Evil ✨ and can plot very efficiently and intelligently when she wants to (as exemplified in Derision); but she’s impulsive and emotional, and keeps getting in her own way.
On the other hand is the✨ Mastermind ✨ with a deeper agenda (supposedly and very unfortunately, given how elaborate her plan is — I still hold out hope that she’s just doing it for the lolz). Not only is she the first person to recognise this potential in her partner, but she is also excellent at communicating with her, talking her down, and helping her refocus her energy in order to actually get results.
They could have been SO evil yet SO healthy together!
In the wise words of my girlfriend (and Grandma Molag from Firebringer) :
This is one of the weirdest conversations I’ve ever had about a Miraculous theory.
(Purple is me)
I mean come on… Lila… is Manon? That makes absolutely 0 sense.
Come one a deleted scene? Those scenes are deleted for a reason… They are not canon. Also Chris doesn’t even have a crush on Manon. That’s something out of fanfiction…
Plus there’s the age gap. Well green did later on give the explanation that Lila is Manon from the future. So time travel but that still makes no sense and I’ll go into more detail about that later on.
There was a deleted comment in which green called me brainless simply because I didn’t believe that Lila was future Manon. The comment got deleted tho which is why it’s not in this screenshot. It would have been between comment 2 and 3 of screenshot 3.
The photo green is referring to is this picture:
Lila/Cerise has a picture of Nadja Chamack on her investigation board in the Episode Collusion. Like how is that any proof? We know of Lila that she wants to be famous and we also know that Nadja Chamak is a famous reporter. So why would Nadja not somehow be involved in Lila’s plans to get what she wants?
And here’s green again insulting me. I think that must be the 3rd time green did that in this conversation.
Also my sleep deprived brain forgot that printed photos exist at the time I wrote that comment (the last one in screenshot 5). That’s why I assumed green meant Lila had a phone of Nadja on her phone. But to be fair I did not expect for green to mean the photo on the investigation board. I mean if Lila was Manon and Nadja was her mother you’d expect for Lila to have a framed picture or a picture in her phone. Something personal… not something so impersonal as a picture on an investigation board.
Well I don’t really have anything to say about this screenshot. There I am back at it again with the phone thing. That was my mistake. Other than that it really felt like green was making stuff up. Turns out that at least the thing with the picture was real… but still that’s hardly anything to prove this theory with.
Well nothing to say about that. I was just asking for more information. Tho still green keeps making it out like as if the picture of Nadja on Lila/Cerise’s investigation board had any importance. Like I can tell other more likely reasons on why it would be there. Like I said Lila wants fame. At least that seemed to be the case judging by her behavior. And well Nadja is a famous reporter in Paris. Getting famous would be so easy if Lila could somehow manage to get Nadja on her side (which would explain on why Nadja’s on that board).
This is the video green is talking about (I can’t link the video for some reason so here’s a screenshot):
Safe to say that even after watching this video the theory still makes no sense and the reason why is in my last comment.
I mean come on Lila/Cerise and Manon have different skin tones. You can’t change your skin color. Sure you can change your hair thanks to wigs, haircuts and hair dye and you can change eye color thanks to colored contact lenses but you can’t change your skin color. Manon has darker skin than Lila does…
The thing about Chloe is that, like many things in the show, the events in Collusion can't be taken too literally.
Yes, her appointing herself as mayor is insane - so insane that it immediately made me think of Napoleon. Bearing in mind this is a French show...let's dig into this.
First, a VERY condensed rundown from someone with only a basic, basic knowledge of French history: there were multiple French Revolutions, but the one that led to the Napoleonic Era was initiated by rebels who represented 'the people' (versus the corrupted nobility), who stormed the Bastille, then lopped off the heads of their opposition.
This went on for years, during which time Napoleon rose up the military ranks and ended up ruling France. He too was supposed to be 'of the people' but power went to his head and he appointed himself not just King but Emperor, then proceeded to invade neighbouring countries, until Russia and Britain spelled the end for him.
In 'Collusion', when Miss Bustier is akumatised she guillotines the heads off her victims. The heads float up as balloons so children can handle watching it, but the allusion is there, reinforced by all the red, white and blue, being the French colours.
She then storms the Mayor's office, but before she can chop off his head, he steps down, recognising his own corruption.
Chloe then bursts in and tells the public there is another corruption of leadership - all that power being in the hands of Ladybug and Cat Noir. Being superheroes, they are not 'of the people', while Chloe states that she is.
However, Chloe is one of the Bourgeoisie. It's been there in her name since the very first episode, and she really lives up to it. In the days of the Revolution, she wouldn't have made it out with her head. And like Napoleon, she has now appointed herself the power figure - in this case, the Mayor. But Napoleon fell, and so will she.
This scene then becomes a commentary on modern politics:
We have a leader without an election, which we have had multiple times here in Britain, and I'm sure it's happened in other nations too.
When Chloe can't pronounce 'democracy', I expect that's a dig at a certain very famous political leader....
Our political leaders all have their scripts written by others, and arguably, at least in some cases, there are others behind the scenes, pulling the strings - like Lila behind Chloe...or Gabriel orchestrating for Chloe to be a 'saviour'.
Andre Bourgeois is a coward. It might look good on the surface, him admitting his corruption and stepping down...but he just runs from the mess he created. He could fight for custody of Chloe and enforce discipline and values until she turns 18, maybe try to undo some of the damage he's caused, but he takes the easy way out and leaves Chloe and Paris to it. This, too, is what some real life politicians do. (I'm given to believe this last point might not have been intended by the episode writers, but it's what comes across nonetheless.)
Please note I am not condemning or condoning any particular political system or party. I'm also not getting into the debate over Chloe's story arc.
This is simply my observation on what else is going on at the end of the episode. Looked at that way...well, it's quite a lot more than just Chloe becoming Mayor.
Gotta love how everyone is screaming about Chloé seizing power Just Like That, except for my fellow Frenchies who are all just shrugging and commenting “yeah that tracks” in the notes
