SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 ARE PRESENT so i’ve finally watched first two episodes of new season and i know it’s kind of early to say, but this season looks so much better than the first one. it's juicy and spicy, already filled with drama and it gets only better. so lets start, shall we?

triad it was annoying in the first episode, let me be hones. the storyline was repeating itself like in the first season, but i was really pleased to see luna supporting max and triad altogether. and also, really, those nervous comedic vibes from audrey and aki were so lame. glad that they resolved their issues and came out in the second episode cause i am so excited to see them embracing their relationships. it was an awww moment when audrey defended max in the end of second episode , and parents’ reactions to them coming our as throuple. so so so great, kiki was already my fav, but now i like her even more it's no secret that my favourite gg storyline is triad so i am most excited for them

julien and monet it gives original vibes. monet is the queen and juls needs refreshment. she was boring and for me she still is. so i am looking forward for the monet/julien beef to freshen things up. also, an ending of second episode - it gave an end of fourth episode of original, when serena took blair’s crown. i want to see more of this cause it reminds me so much of school years when original gg was thriving and all girls were fighting if they are team s or b. yes, i have when tv shows have those catfights and do not show women supporting women, but that is the whole point of gg, so i am letting it go

luna she is amazing. i was already in love with her last season, but right now i am loving her even more. how supportive and wise is she, how she knows exactly what to say or how to act. how great she is with her friends and how good she supports every storyline she is in. want to see more about her background still, but lets pray that this will happen this season

zoya/shan for me, zoya is still one of the most judgmental and annoying characters. she was all in with julien last season and now she is again against her. it’s so done, i am tired of it. shan, on the other hand, is exciting and refreshing. let’s hope that she will not be next jenny humphrey gone rogue lol

obie and grace obie is still boring and unimpressive. i think even writers don’t know what to do with him. grace is so sweet that my teeth hurt. i wanted to skip all their scenes, so let’s leave it like that

overall, i am going to rewatch these episodes today later, cause i was at work when they came out. maybe later i will write even bigger essay on those episodes. also, is anyone up on analysing julien’s tips from the begging of first episode? i want to discuss them so much! like exposing max loosing his virginity, obie’s bribes etc. i want to make a post about it or simply discuss it with someone cause i have so many thoughts

the worst thing to me about how the triad ended this season is that we basically got back to their starting point, there's no growth for audrey or aki at all, they say stuff and then don't do them, so it is exactly as max says they just want sex which is the usual trope for polyamorous relationships in media and I'm so tireddddd like I really wanted to see audrey and aki do something to keep the relationship together, we see aud all the episode thinking about their relationship, like yeah I dont want to lose max but I also dont want to lose Aki, JC telling her to take some time was supposed to work towards her saying I want both of them I can make this work I'm in, instead we never see her realize anything more than she's okay with max leaving in terms of not making an actual effort to make him stay... this was awful, not even emotional enough for me, I wanted to see audrey and aki actually showing emotions!!! thomas as always served with his acting, and we have once again max crying exposing his feelings and being fucking honest and audrey and aki just watching him, godddd I'm so disappointed lmao

#like they didnt even try to actually break up all three??? i would have loved for them to try and realize it was impossible #gossip girl #makidrey #max x audrey x aki #ggrb #let me elaborate i would have loved for them to try to break up to actually own up to what they agreed at the start of the relationship #and we could've seen them struggle through the whole episode with that #it would've been super interesting to see a break up between three people and the different ways they react/cope with that #I ofc wanted them to end up together but I would've loved a break up full of tears and emotions and ALL of them struggling #instead we got once again akiaud vs max and the rest of their friends dont even care about max that much when he's not part of the triad #I WOULD HAVE GONE INSANE IF INSTEAD OF THAT RANDOM GUY PICKING UP MAX IT WOULD'VE BEEN LUNA AND MONET #like idk they had sooo many possibilities and they chose the worst lmao #i wanted emotions i wanted to cry the way I did with og gossip girl where conversations between the characters i loved MOVED ME #anyways #MAX WOLFE YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS

Someone needs to tell the GG writers that we (meaning me) don't care about Julien, she is exactly like Serena in the worst way, and just let Monet be evil queen and let us adore her forever

Just get rid of Julien, Zoya and Obie and give their screen time (and tbh plot) to Luna and Monet

And we keep Audrey, Max and Aki in a happy relationship the rest of the show, Monet can be all the drama we need and deserve

(max and lunas's friendship keeps being the best thing in the whole world and makes me so happy bye)

I'm sure it's been discussed to death but the writers really shot themselves in the foot when they made decisions about season 2

Georgina Sparks had the potential to be SUCH a good storyline but they just made her a crazy 30 year old who thought it was funny to fuck around with teenagers she didn't know?

The throuple could have been something done well but with the weak acting (Aki), the inability to figure out what direction they wanted to go in, and the complete disrespect of Max, that just ended in a shit show

Monet and Luna deserved **SO** much better. They could literally do anything in the world with those two but instead they relegated Luna to being an invisible background character and basically insulted Monet with the silly back and forth of "bad bitch" energy they were trying to channel

Julien and Zoya just do not give main character energy sorry. Julien had a bunch of insane storylines this season E.G sleeping with a legal adult who was pretending to be married....that added absolutely nothing to the show? And she repeatedly shit all over her friends' wants and then was shocked they were upset with her....and her back and forth of being "good", lord I'm so grateful to never hear the phrase "stop the story" ever again

I'm not even going to get into the mess that was the teachers smh

Seriously the only good things were the little moment we got of Max and Luna being friends and (potential controversial opinion) Obie's storyline in the second half of the season was fun for me.

when it came to you, monet was infatuated. she wouldn't say it out loud, minus the times some idiotic man thought he had a chance and tried to flirt with you, but everyone could tell.

they saw it in the way she defended you like her life depended on it, in the way she look at you when talking like you hung the moon and stars in the sky. she was the queen of constance and you were her consort.

so when the day of your birthday rolls around, you should have known she wouldn't hold back.

your day starts with the sweetest good morning text youve ever seen, sent to you from your one and only. monet wasnt one to show her affection through pretty words, but you could tell she tried just for you and that made it pull at your heart strings even more.

after eating a lovely breakfast and a giddy ride to school, you step out of your car with a farewell to your driver before seeing nearly a quarter of the school is still outside, flocking around something parked on the street. getting closer, you almost can't believe what you're seeing.

its a pop-up version of gâterie, your favorite place to go for the best pastries. but as far as you knew they only had locations available in france, so how was there...

"i found out they were deciding to open a pop up in the city and made some calls for their grand opening to be here." monet's smooth voice in your ear pops up from beside you, sending brief shivers down your spine. she wraps an arm around your waist before leading you forward, casually showing dominance like she loved to do.

she guided you up to the pop up, pushing and shoving other students out of your way, finally getting to the front of the line and monet getting your favorite pastry and drink before you could even process it. when you looked at her she just smiled and pulled you closer in to her.

"today's your birthday which means i don't want you to worry your pretty little head about anything, m'kay? now get your stuff so we can hurry to our seats, im already sick of standing near these lowlives and if that freshman keeps staring at us it's gonna ruin my good mood," she tells you, smiling bigger when you giggle at her meanness.

monet stuck true to her word the entire duration of the school day, making sure you didnt have to stress about anything. she tried to goad you into skipping with her to the spa so you didnt have to worry about your schoolwork, but stopped when you reminded her that not everyone's parents could snap their fingers and change their grades. you were lucky she liked it when you could go toe to toe with her bitchiness.

after school ended, she quickly whisked luna and you into her car without telling you where you three were headed, but by the look on her face, you knew it was somewhere good.

the car stops and you breathe out a sigh of relief when you look out of the window and see your favorite spa that you and the girls visit regularly. this was exactly what you needed after all the stress from the drama at school.

after a simple mani-pedi and a thorough massage, you walk into the lounging area where all the guests go after their stay and see monet hurriedly whispering something into lunas ear who then nods and walks away, holding her phone up to her ear and getting into what you can tell must be a passionate conversation.

monet looks pissed off until she sees you, putting on a slightly concerning but nevertheless welcoming smile as she wraps her arms around your waist and kisses you on both of your cheeks. which she always does when shes trying to distract you from something. hm.

"what are you hiding, sweetheart?" you question, nearly giggling when she smiles at your cheesy yet cute pet name for her.

"i despise when you call me that. and its nothing, just dealing with some morons for this school project im doing." her answer comes out smoothly, but you still feel slightly suspicious. youre confused why shed make luna go outside to take care of her presumably annoying classmates, but you decided not to worry about it too much.

after the spa, monet takes you to a high end boutique youve been checking the website for religiously to see when you could book an appointment. your look of shock and happiness is all monet wanted at this moment, pretending to be nonchalant when you turned towards her.

"dont give me that look. just buy and put on something pretty, ok? hurry up."

not wasting any time, you quicky flutter over to all of the clothes you see that catch your eyes: dresses, skirts, pantsuits. its a short search until you finally find the one outfit you like most, the one thats just perfect for you.

trying it on, you leave the dressing room to see monet sitting on the stool putside the curtain hurriedly putting away her phone, bringing back that suspicion you felt earlier. you dont get the chance to ask her what she was up to before she takes your arm and spins you, thoroughly observing the outfit you picked.

"if theres one thing i love about you its definitely your great sense of style." she tells, bringing her hands to your face and staring at you with that look that makes your heart flutter. "and your personality and all that, of course."

after checking out some more stuff you brought to try on, (and maybe making out for a few minutes but thats neither here nor there, also monet insisting you keep the outfit you liked most on), you get to the register and once hearing the price go to pull out your card before you hear a beep and whip your head to see monet smiling at you and putting hers away. you dont even get to comment before she grabs your bags and leads you back to the car.

a while into the drive, monet pulls out a blindfold from her bag and turns towards you. you try not to let the not so safe for work thoughts run through your head but by monets scoff and roll of eyes you can tell your reaction gave you away. you dont bother asking what its for, knowing she wont tell you anyway. you willingly put it on.

the car rolls to a stop and you feel monets smooth hands guide you out of the car and into the mystery building. its a short walk until she lets go of you for a moment, clearly opening a larget set of doors before leading you in further.

she moves behind you, pressing her body behind yours and slowly taking the blindfold off. the room she's taken you to is nearly pitch black, save for some lights on the far walls. your eyes are just starting to adjust when the lights turn on and your hit with a chorus of "SURPRISE!"

you're almost in a state of shock as you look around you, seeing a large crowd of your family, friends, and more standing and smiling at you. taking in the rest of your surroundings, you have to nearly stop yourself from jumping up and down, seeing that the place of your surprise party is the jane hotel, one of your favorite ballroom party locations.

"i'm gonna take your silence as one of pure happiness and adoration for your girlfriend who planned all of this for you." monet whispers, moving to your side and putting her hand behind your back to lead you forward to everyone else. "go say hi to to everybody, ill catch up with you later." and before you can even get a word in julien nearly flies into your arms, squeezing you near to death and telling you "happy birthday!" over and over.

the rest of the night is great, filled with drinks and food and dancing and reminiscing over old memories. its fun and sweet, but every so often youll catch monets eye, the girl seemingly innocently smiling at you to anyone else but you can tell when shes plotting, and it fills you with a sense of excitement.

eventually, the party comes to a close, guests saying goodbye and extra "happy birthdays" for good measure. monet comes up to you, taking your hand and wordlessly leading you out of the ballroom to her car waiting outside. after a few minutes of driving you recognize that its heading to your girlfriend's home.

"do you have another surprise for me?" you ask, smiling and leaning your head on her shoulder and looking up at her. every time you look at her it almost surprises you how damn pretty she is.

"it wouldnt be a surprise if i told you what it was, now would it?" she answers, bring her hand up to move some of your hair out of your face and resting it on your cheek. "dont worry. i promise youll love it."

"i know ill love it just like everything else today. thank you, by the way. it was sweet." you remove her hand from your face and bring it to your lips, giving it a few small pecks that she tries to act like doesn't affect her but you can see right past it.

"no need to thank me. you deserved all of it and it's my job as your amazing girlfriend to make it all happen." she hugs you closer to her, settling into her car seat as you do the same.

just when you feel yourself drifting off monet tugs you from your seat and up the stairs to her home, your mind drifting in between a state of semiconsciousness when you feel your bottom hit the familar soft padding of her bed, her sigh and tugging at your shoes bringing a light smile to your face.

"soooo wheres my last surprise of the evening?" your voice is soft, perfectly content with just sitting here in this moment with her.

"well, i might have worded it wrong. less a surprise ad more of a...reward." the tone of her voice and the feeling of her hands trailing up the sides of your thighs knocks the sleep straight from your brain. your eyes slowly open and follow to hers, the warm brown staring into you so intensely it feels like she can see into your soul.

“and what exactly am I being rewarded for?” you question, the words leaving your throat in a whisper.

she moves her body closer to yours, pushing you onto the bed and hovering over you. “because you're the best…girlfriend…in the world…and I want to show you how much i care about you.” she praises you into your skin, taking breaks between words to press a line of kisses up your throat until eventually, her lips meet yours.

! spoilers for gossip girl reboot are below !

overall, my biggest hope for the finale was fulfiled - kate was exposed and she is finally in jail. so yeah, i can count that as a win

still, gg reboot worked for me not only because of drama it had (and i am a sucker for drama), but because characters were really interesting and i personally resonated with some of them. so of course i am mad because we were robbed of good ending. luna finally getting her voice and having a storyline only for it to be thrown away like it didn’t happen. monet not being in italy when savannah was there during filming. couldn’t they include her in group scenes? i guess we will never know. oh, and the most boring character like obie being included in main gg plot, Rome plot, gg reveal plot. don’t get me started on this one cause i don’t even understand why they kept him around. zoya finally getting a promising love interest and his scenes with the whole group being cut? such a bad move.

as for triad, i am mad and disappointd. just a week earlier i was clowning myself thinking that they are going to break them three up. and what do we have here? aki and audrey throwing max under the bus again. them completely erasing their whole development only to end up together without any worries about max. and poor max feeling like they both played with him an got tired of him. i feel so sorry for him because he is the one character in this whole reboot who changed the most since the first episode. he is the only one whose development and progress were not forgot about.

thomas doherty is an amazing actor because i also cried with him when he realised that aki and audrey are not in love with him like he is with them. writers are really cruel for letting this scene be in the final cut because once again we have a media example that throuples are just for sex and sex only. once again tv series is proving that polyamory does not exist in a healthy way. once again the golden couple stays together and redeemed character is getting heartbroken. i can’t even describe in words what i am feeling right now because not only the triad had no purpose with this ending, but a character that had so much growth during the series has circled back to point zero. if writers were backing them up and completing most of the storylines because they suspected that the series is not going to be renewed, why letting triad stay this way? why breaking them up and pointing that their whole relationship mattered only to max and leaving aki and audrey together? i am so pissed at creators now. and if before finale i was able to defend them, now i actually can’t.

so, jobie and akidrey are getting their onscreen endgames while other characters get nothing. good to go gg reboot!

my ideal finale of this season would have been if triad broke up - them three breaking up and finding themselves outside of relationship. like we could have finally have their separated storylines and them being independent characters. specifically audrey and aki needed that. so i really hoped that three of them would break up, discover themselves and around season three finale they would realise what they are missing. so starting the last episodes of season three triad would be getting closer again and realising that the three of them are still in love with each other. they would have a confession in season finale and finally getting together in a healthy way (without sneaking behind each other backs and having any doubts) in the beginning of season four. as josh mentioned, he wanted to have four seasons of gg, so as for season four, i imagined characters to have college-related drama. for the triad, i think that they could have had a “will we last long-distance or not” just like seth and summer from the oc in season three. no cheating, no doubting each other, not any of them feeling extra. just regular senior year drama that every high school relationship goes through. i feel really robbed and i would be looking forward reading josh’s interview because i think he is going to share some of their plans for future seasons. also, let’s not forget that initial plan was for triad to be an endgame. so let’s focus on that
