Character Summary:
She's pretty much exactly the same as in canon because she is prefect <3
She was mentored by a young Snowstorm, they were a good match since they are both feisty ladies
Birdflight (Runningwind) is her younger brother! They were both one kit litters, which is actually pretty common in the Orders!
She is bffs with Downnose and Cricketstep, and Down retires along side her to the elders den!
Mouse is like an aunt to Shriketail so he spends a lot of time with her along side his momma when he visits the elders' den, so they still have their cute relationship!

Clan Kingdoms - Discussions on Kin
A sweet drabble I've been sitting on and debating posting for a bit, SilverFire and Bluestar and Fireheart bonding.
Fireheart fought not to shake at the sensation of the honeyflower and oak leaves woven into his pelt, knowing that if Bluestar found out he pulled the irritating leaves from his fur before he left his meeting she’d lecture him about presentation of Leaderkin… again. He’d had enough lectures in recent days. At least the lavender he held carefully in his jaws, plucked from the edge of Windclan territory to the amusement of the observing patrol on the moor, a smiling Deadfoot giving him a knowing smirk. Flanking him as he trotted towards the Sunningrocks were Runningwind and Mousefur, the twins bickering good naturedly in a way that soothed most of his anxiety about meeting the Riverclan patrol that was no doubt awaiting them.
It had been longer since he and Silverstream had met properly, only encountering one another at the Gathering before Fireheart left to return Windclan to their territory, and having only long enough to talk briefly. Between Windclan and the newly arrived Cloudkit, Fireheart had nearly forgotten to prepare for their next planned meeting. With the quarter moon hanging high in the sky, the light was somewhat dim as he reached the edge of the trees, leaping down to the riverbank and smiling around his bundle as he spotted Silverstream laughing happily with her own escort. Heavystep and Loudbelly were grinning, likely at some joke Heavystep had told, lightening the mood immediately with a cheerful call to Runningwind and Mousefur. The twin warriors joined the other chaperones eagerly, and Fireheart met Silverstream’s warm smile with a purr as he leapt up atop the smooth stone next to her, gently placing the sprig of lavender at her paws.
“A gift, to apologize for missing our last meeting.” He mewed, smiling nervously up at the bigger molly, and earning a happy purr as she bunted her cheek against his.
“No apologies needed. We are warriors of our clans before we are Betrothed, Fireheart, I understand when duty gets in the way. I will accept the gift, however, it smells lovely! What does it mean?” Fireheart felt that warmth in his belly spread across his pelt as he settled next to Silverstream, watching her gently inspect the lavender sprig.
“If I remember my lessons, Lavender is a symbol of devotion. It can also mean distrust in the wrong circumstances, but I hope you know that’s not the intent.”
“I’ve no reason to distrust you and endeavor to not give you reason to distrust me.” She purred, only to falter when his face fell. “Fireheart?”
“Sorry, it’s been an interesting quarter moon.” He meowed, unsure how to broach the subject of his accidental adoption.
“Does it have to do with why you smell like the nursery?” Her eyes were guarded, and tail slowly swaying in a way that made him a bit nervous.
“Yes, though not in the way you may suspect. I’ve… taken in a kit, kin of my kin.” Blue eyes blinked, surprise and confusion blossoming.
“... you never told me about any kin.” She settled to lay down, tucking his gift close to her and giving him a nervous smile. “Tell me?” And Fireheart remembered why he’d admired the silver tabby so much since they met. Silverstream was bold and brash, but her kindness and understanding towards him as he learned two different cultures had been more welcoming than he’d ever expected. He settled at her side, cautiously draping his tail across her hind legs and responding in kind when she started to purr softly at the gesture.
“I wasn’t a one-kit litter, and one of my littermates lives in a twoleg nest not far from our territories.” He meowed, fidgeting with one of the oak leaves stuck to his fur with sap. “Her name is Princess. We aren’t particularly close, but she’s the only one of my birth-kin that I even know at this point.”
“The only one?” Silverstream mewed, brows drawing in. “Not even your mother?”
“Ah, kittypet’s are… different about birth-kin.” He felt his tail lash a bit in embarrassment and quickly tried to move on. “Anyways, she recently had a litter, and we were talking about how the clans feel so much stronger about family. She’d never leave her housefolk-” Silverstream opened her mouth to question and he smiled. “What kittypets call Twolegs. But… I think she wishes she could have that. So… she gave me one of her kits. Wouldn’t take no for an answer and made me take him home to Bluestar.” Silverstream’s surprise had bloomed into warm affection.
“Will you let me meet him? When he’s older?”
“Of course, he’s to be your kin as well as mine.” Fireheart purred, bunting his head into her chin with a louder purr. “I just didn’t want you to think ill of me, bringing another kittypet into the clans-”
“He’s your kin Fireheart. If anything I think better of you, offering your sister’s kit a chance at a life in the clan.” Fireheart noted, and couldn’t quite put into words the appreciation, that she didn’t call it a “better” life. “... tell me about your birth-kin?”
“I shouldn’t-”
“Why not?” Silverstream raised her head to eye him, eyes narrowed. Fireheart lowered his own, trying to look up at her.
“Some cats may see it as… corrupting you with kittypet ways of life. Cats… didn’t react well to me telling my denmates about my family when I first joined the clan. Especially since kittypets are so different.”
“How so?” Fireheart glanced towards their chaperones, anxiously wondering if they were listening. “Fireheart.” Silverstream’s tone was gentler, and he met her eyes. “If you aren’t comfortable I understand, I just want to know more about the cat I’m to be with for the rest of our lives.”
“... Kittypets don’t value birth-kin the same way clan cats do. Most cats don’t actually get to stay with their birth-kin very long, so it doesn’t make sense to be close.” He meowed, watching Silverstream settle back and watch him. “I never met my sire, Jake was just the tom Nutmeg happened to have kits with, and he didn’t even live nearby to her nest. Nutmeg told us he was always more ‘wild’ than your average kittpet, wandered further.”
“Some kittypets are like that, some of our warriors and Mudfur will trade items and herbs with a few wanderers.” Silverstream commented, and Fireheart smiled at the image. “Was Nutmeg your kin?”
“My mother. She didn’t really call herself our mother often though. Kittypet queens don’t get to keep their kits usually, so getting close just… doesn’t make sense.”
“They don’t even visit?”
“Queens don’t know where their litter will end up. Princess and I being near one another is quite rare. I haven’t heard anything about Nutmeg or my other three littermates since my old housefolk took me in… so you can imagine the culture shock when I joined Thunderclan.” He huffed, smiling nervously up at her. Silverstream was silent for a bit, then sighed.
“I can kind of understand that. I can’t even remember my mother. She and my littermates died before I even opened my eyes.” She looked towards their chaperones. “Dad was… mourning heavily, most of my kithood. Uncle Oakheart and my cousins made it easier, but I felt like I was the clan’s kit more than Dad’s for a long time.” Fireheart frowned, Crookedstar had seemed so close to his daughter. “It got better pretty quickly once Dad started actually talking to people again outside of duty. Now he’s my best friend, but… sometimes I wonder what life would be like if Mom had made it.”
“... I’ve never called anyone Mom. I don’t know if I’m actually allowed to call Bluestar that. I know she’s technically my mother now but… it’s just for succession.”
“I wouldn’t say that.” Silverstream meowed, looking thoughtful. “She seems to be really fond of you. My cousins had my mother’s sister for a foster mother and she looks at them the same way, they’ve called her Mom as long as I’ve been alive, if not longer.” She was quiet a moment, but her tail twitched as she thought, and Fireheart waited quietly, watching the beautiful molly ponder something. “Clan cats may value birth-kin a lot, but chosen family isn’t something to dismiss. Graypool chose her kits, but they’re her kits just as her birth-kits were. Bluestar chose you, and I would wager she feels just as strongly towards you as she does her own birth-kin.”
“She’s rather unhappy with me at the moment.” He chuffed, amused and embarrassed. “She thought I was bringing home a bastard kit. Fresh out of the apprentice’s den and already souring Thunderstar’s line.” Silverstream laughed loudly at that, earning the attention of their chaperones, and Fireheart saw the warm way Loudbelly’s eyes softened at the sight. “Now, MIstyfoot’s kits, are they as cute as you expected them to be?”
The two of them lazed on their stone, purring happily and trading tales of kin and kits, until Loudbelly and Mousefur called the meeting to an end. Silverstream nosed Fireheart’s cheek, picking up the spring of lavender he’d gifted her and trotting after the two older toms, chirruping and purring fondly with them. Mousefur and Runningwind would tease him the entire way back, though the twins were kind enough to help free him from the adornments in his fur before he slipped into the nursery. Brindleface greeted him with exasperated bemusement, playfully nosing Cloudkit from her nest and sending the little white fluffball to his uncle. As the two settled in the nest he’d been allowed to make in the nursery, the white tomkit climbed atop his uncle and sprawled along his back. He was softly snoring in moments, and Fireheart was well on his way to following him.
The soft rustle of ferns at the entrance pulled him back from the edge of sleep, eyes opening slowly at the warm purring murmurs from Brindleface to the approaching cat. Turning carefully to the entrance Fireheart smiled when he met Bluestar’s eyes, the leader’s expression fond and bemused at the kit softly snoring on his back.
“Kits always find the oddest places to sleep.” She mewed, soft to not wake the three kits snoozing. Brindleface had settled back into her own nest, tail wrapped tight around her two remaining kits. “How did the meeting go?”
“Well, Silverstream wasn’t offended at my missing our last, blessedly.” He mewed, lifting his head, careful to not shift his shoulders too much and wake Cloudkit.
“Good, I hear from Runningwind you gave her a gift?”
“Willowpelt said Riverclanners appreciate gifts, so I gave her a sprig of lavender.” Bluestar smiled, purring softly and lapping at his head. “She seemed to like it, brought it home with her.”
“A good choice, a show of your devotion to her. Hold still, you still have sap in your fur.”
“Don’t wake Cloudkit, please, he just fell asleep.” He pleaded, earning a purr. They sat quietly for a bit as Bluestar settled and groomed his pelt. “I told Silverstream about him.” He blurted it out, fighting to keep his fur flat and the tension out of his muscles when he felt Bluestar stop.
“... and?”
“She’d like to meet him. Wanted to know more about his mother, my family. I told her a bit, that kittypet kin is different than clan kin-”
“Fireheart-”
“She asked, Bluestar, said she wants to know her future mate… He turned and met her eyes. “She told me about her mother, that she lost her young, that she can understand.” Bluestar frowned, but sighed and returned to grooming him.
“Crookedstar and his kin have suffered much loss.”
“It’s good she had her uncle, aunt and cousins.” Fireheart agreed, feeling the tension ebb a little. “It’s something I’m a bit jealous of, admittedly, clanborn cats have extended families. Have families.”
“... Fireheart, you have a family here.” Bluestar meowed, firm but not unkind. “My kin is your kin, and they will consider you as such. Whitestorm is your cousin, whether by blood or not, and he will look out for you and care for you because you are my son and our kin.” Fireheart sat silent for a moment, processing the warm feeling blooming in his chest, then leaned towards Bluestar and bunted his head under her chin with a purr, earning a shocked one in response.
“Thanks Mom.” Bluestar’s purr hiccuped a moment before renewing stronger and pulling him a little closer.
“You are my son, Fireheart. No matter what, we are kin.”

hey did you say somewhere that bluestar was aro in the rewrite? I could just be remembering wrong though so sorry if I am!
I might have at one point but I don't know if I stand by it. I don't give Bluestar a label anymore-- she's something strange and queer like me.
Something personal that I can feel but can't put into simple words. She loves in a lot of different ways and romantic attraction is one of them, too
So far Rosetail, Mousefur, and Firestar are aromantic. Rose and Fire are aro/ace, Mousefur is aro but not ace.
Ratscar also feels aro to me. He raised his little sister Snowbird when their mom died and he's SUPER attractive by Clan standards. He's a villain for OotS before helping to battle the Kin in AVoS.
Blackstar could also probably be considered gay aro, but I'm not sure if he's good to point out as rep. He's... odd. A lot of his new character is guilt-driven; I think a major reason he doesn't want to get involved in romance is because he is devoted to his Clan and friendships.
I am not sure if that is problematic to associate with aromanticism because I am not ace myself.
I dunno. I try my best.

Making this an official AU question for you:
What would happen if Squirrelflight ends up pregnant while Leafpool is still pregnant? About 2-3 weeks afterwards, so there's quite a desynch to when they would expect to give birth.
OK so Leafpool and Squirrelflight start their journey, both are pregnant, Leafpool gives birth to JayLionHolly, and Squirrelflight to SparkAlderDandelionJuniper.
Dandelion and Juniper die. They were the weakest and it’s cold out there, granted. But also, neither Leafpool nor Squirrelflight are at their best so hunting is difficult, and Leafpool isn’t the best hunter out there either.
I mean I’m barring the possibility that they just all die out there and Whitewing ends up with three kits who are the Three.
So anyway, Dandelion and Juniper died. They come back to the clans with five kits and everyone’s like “wow it’s the biggest litter we’ve seen yet!”.
Since Squirrelflight has milk, she nurses them all. It means Jayfeather won’t find out about their biological parents the same way, if at all. Brambleclaw is extatic to have five kits of his own. THey all play pretend fight with him and everything, all is going well.
During the scene of the fire, all six (Squilf and the Five) are there when Ashfur arrives. Squirrelflight is like “those are not my kits.” and he lets them go and then she’s like “yeah no actually you are my kits it’s a bit complicated” when Alderheart asks her what she meant. no one understands what’s going on, but the five are convinced she was bluffing.
Ashfur lets the secret blow up at the Gathering, accusing Squirrelflight of having taken in the kits of Leafpool and Crowfeather (because who else would Squirrelflight do this for but Leafpool, and who else could Leafpool have had kits with?). Crowfeather is like “what”, Nightcloud and Breezepelt are like “WHAT”, Leafpool scoffs and says it’s ridiculous and she didn’t expect him to muddy the waters like that what did she do to him to warrant such a stupid accusation?
The Five are like “yeah that’s stupid we’re so obviously Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight’s kits!”, and Squirrelflight accuses him in front of everybody to not be over her when she’s been with her mate for half a dozen seasons already (which is true). Ashfur is taken back to apprentice for trying to cause a scandal at the gathering.
Out of the five, Three only are the Chosen Ones, and it just so happen that it’s Sparkpelt, Jayfeather and Lionblaze. Sparkpelt has intense senses, but she’s an overachiever: she’s not going to get the same problems as Dovewing. She’s going to master her senses quite quickly.
When the Beavers arrive, she is part of the patrol with Lionblaze. She doesn’t fall in love with Tigerheart because she’s impulsive but she’s got her head screwed on the right way.
No Hollyleaf in the Tunnels mean that Blossomfall and Ivypool die in the tunnels and that Molepaw and Cherrypaw are killed by that one fox. (although if it was proved that this fox was the one Hollyleaf saved in the tunnels it would be different).
Mousefur, Ferncloud, Sorreltail and Hollyleaf die in the Great Battle. With those plus the ones who died before it’s starting to be a lot of losses for Thunderclan. (plus Seedpaw and all during the great storm etc) so Bramblestar refuses to let anyone leave the clan for an apprentice’s vision. Particularly a warrior apprentice (eh, with Jaypaw as an apprentice medicine cat they were not going to have two medicine cat apprentices at the same time)
Twig and Violet starve, Skyclan dies out. No Darktail around the lake. Rowanstar tames his unruly apprentices then dies and Tawnystar ascends, with a Tigerheart who never left his clan and never mated with a thunderclan she-cat as her deputy. Needletail is still alive and was named Needlepelt (she chose her own warrior name in the Kin). Juniperclaw is named Juniperstem, etc etc. All those who chose their warrior names in the kin have new names. I don’t like their names.
Anyway after that canon basically knits itself back together. No Skyclan means no meeting the Sisters, Leafpool doesn’t die too soon. No Leafpool dying means no Moonpool freezing, according to some theories. So no Bramblefake, and since I have barely finished Lost Stars I’m going to stop here.
Although the clans probably die out one after the other because of the new poisonous plant the Sisters knew the remedy for but that’s a whole other sack of wet mice.

Longstar AU — Chapter Two
“.. So what did he say?” Swiftpaw bounded up to Longtail, his ears immediately flattening.
“He.. said he'd talk to her,” Longtail meowed. “But nothings promised.”
“That’s—it’s mouse-dung!” Swiftpaw hissed, “I should be a warrior! I earned it, and so did all the other apprentices! Bluestar needs to stop hiding already and come out!”
“I agree,” Longtail murmured, swinging his head toward the High Rock. “Just get some fresh-kill and get some rest. We'll go hunting in the morning, how’s that sound?”
“Yeah,” Swiftpaw flattened his ears. “Thanks, Longtail.” He purred, bounding over toward the fresh-kill pile.
    “Apprentice troubles, hmm?”
He turned around, seeing the dusky brown she-cat standing there.
“Sort of,” He mumbled. “More like leader troubles.”
“How come?” Mousefur settled beside him, “She’s just sick, Longtail, she'll get over it. She always does, y'know?”
“I get she’s.. sick, or whatever,” Longtail said through gritted teeth, staring at the dirt under his paws. “But she’s our leader, Mousefur. She needs to pull herself out of whatever this is, step up, and act like she is,” He hissed. “Fireheart is practically our leader. But he cannot make the apprentices, deservingapprentices, warriors by StarClan. It isn’t fair to them.”
“.. I know, Longtail,” Mousefur sighed, gazing across the camp at the apprentices, playing with a few of the kits. “Brindleface's kits are late to be apprenticed, too. And the apprentices are deserving to be warriors, nothing could say otherwise—but you must give her time. Give her that and she may become our strong-willed leader once more.”
“If you say so,” Longtail murmured.
He wasn’t sure he believed Mousefur. Sure, she was his friend, he trusted her—but Bluestar had been so taken aback and worn down by Tigerclaw's betrayal, well, Tigerstar now—as he'd been told—that she'd gone into hiding in her den. He wasn’t sure she could bounce back from that. Not this time.
Mousefur padded away, approaching her apprentice, Thornpaw. Longtail watched for a moment as the two had a pleasant exchange, and padded away together. With a sigh, he turned into the warriors den, and curled up in his nest. All of it was too much to handle right now, too much to think about.
“Fireheart?” Thornpaw slipped into the camp, the rest of the patrol following close behind. “We’ve found something out in the forest, near the WindClan border.”
“Well?” Fireheart questioned, “What is it?”
“Scraps of prey littered on their border,” Darkear's piped up from behind the apprentice.
“.. It must be WindClan,” A raspy voice mewed from behind, the patrol laying their eyes on the worn down ThunderClan leader. Her blue eyes were dull, tired looking. “They’re stealing the prey from us.. even more proof that the other clans are planning to align against us..”
“We can’t just assume that, Bluestar, what if—“
“Hush!” The blue-gray she-cats eyes flared with anger, “We will confront them about it at the gathering tonight.” With a hiss, she slipped back into her den, Fireheart skidding after her.
“She has to have gone mad,” Darkear's murmured, earning a nudge from Whitestorm beside him.
“That’s your kin your talking about,” Whitestorm narrowed his yellow eyes. “She’s not gone mad. She’s just.. not thinking straight. I’m sure Fireheart will talk to her.”
“Yes. I’m sure.” Darkear's growled, stalking away with his ears flattened.
It is a bit crazy, though. Longtail thought, gazing after Whitestorm as he padded after his eldest son. She takes one piece of information and blows it out of proportion! That could get the entire clan hurt. With a deep breath, he padded toward the fresh-kill pile.
He picked out a thrush, and settled down between the nursery and medicine den, his ears pricked up for any information. Was he eavesdropping? No. Well, okay, yes—but he needed to know what in the world was going on.
     “Bluestar, it wasn’t WindClan, I—“
“Fireheart, silence!” Bluestar growled, her tail lashing. “I am your leader. And you are disobeying what I’ve ordered. Have you become a traitor just like the rest of this worthless clan?”
Fireheart flattened his ears, taking a few paw-steps backward. “.. None of us are traitors, Bluestar,” He meowed, his voice quite small. “I am only saying that maybe you should think about this before we go through with it..”
“I have thought about it,” She hissed. “Tomorrow we will have a battle patrol go to WindClan. Now, leave my den and let me rest.” And with that, she curled into a ball in the very back of her den.
A few moments later, heavily sighing, Fireheart padded out of the den. With a swift glance around camp, the deputy turned toward the entrance and padded out.
Longtail narrowed his eyes. Finishing his thrush, he hopped to his paws, bounding after the deputy. Where in StarClan was he going and why? He surely wasn’t going to WindClan, was he? That would be mouse-brained, why would he do that?
After a few minutes of following the deputy, he realized that was what he was doing. He was going to tell WindClan what Bluestar was doing.
“Fireheart!” Longtail jumped out of the bushes, landing in front of the orange tom. “What in StarClan are you doing?”
“Longtail—?” Fireheart stumbled back in surprise, “Why did you follow me?”
“I heard your conversation with Bluestar,” His green eyes narrowed. “And now your going to tell WindClan what she’s doing? Have you been doing this the whole time? I—“
“Longtail, calm down! For StarClan's sake I’m not telling WindClan all our secrets,” He shook his head vigorously, sighing. “I am simply going to speak with Tallstar. I don’t want to battle with WindClan if we don’t have to, especially not now. Okay? That’s what I’m going to do.”
       “Oh,” Longtail murmured. “.. Sorry.”
“I would think so,” Fireheart narrowed his eyes. “You may as well come with me. C'mon then, let’s hurry before the sun starts to set.”
Fireheart began to pad closer to WindClan territory, Longtail at his heels.
“I only followed you for the good of the clan,” Longtail piped up, earning a glance from the deputy. “.. If you were doing something wrong, honestly, I’d wanna be the one to tell them..”
“Why’s that?” Fireheart questioned, cocking his head.
“Because I feel they don’t trust me, and neither do you,” Longtail took a deep breath. “I also thought maybe it would help my reputation. I.. want you to feel I’m trustworthy. Because I am. Just because I was friends with Tigerstar doesn’t mean I’m a bad cat.”
“.. Oh, er,” Fireheart stared at his paws. “I get that. I wanted the clan to see me as trustworthy and a capable warrior, too, when I was mistrusted for helping RiverClan—and well, for being a kittypet,” He glanced back up at Longtail. “I wouldn’t want you to feel like that. I'll do better, and trust me, the clan will come around again.”
       “.. Thanks, Fireheart.”
       “No problem.”
And with that, the orange tom padded over the WindClan border.

I’m starting to wrap up posting the last of the early ThunderClan tree. This one shows Frostfur and Lionheart’s family.
As stated before you can check out more of my family tree at my au tag. Check out below for my notes.
Deerdapple and Mumblefoot are the parents of Sparrowstone (Sparrowpelt/Halftail).
Flowerpaw (Birchface’s apprentice) and Harepounce are sisters.
Mistpelt has Smallsnarl (Smallear) and Rockfall with an unknown cat.
I’ve renamed Whiteeye/Oneeye to Whitemist.
Fuzzypelt is a single father to Brindle, Frost, Cherry, and Chestnut. He brings his children to ThunderClan when they are kits.
Redtail and Runningwind are the parents of Sandstorm.
I’ve renamed Mousefur to Mousefang.
Brindleface has her kits with a loner.
Frostfur and Lionheart’s kits are Brackenfur and Cinderlight (Cinderpelt). Frostfur takes in Brightheart and Thornclaw when they are young but they are not blood related. Maybe from ShadowClan?
Snowkit lives! He becomes Snowspark.
Goldenflower has Swiftpaw and Lynxkit with a loner before she gets together with Tigerclaw.
Tawnypelt is now Tawnyclaw, she is Russetstar’s deputy and becomes leader after she dies when the kin take over ShadowClan.
And Brambleclaw is now Brambleflower. He’s chill and is more brotherly towards Squirrel and Leaf. When Squirrel brings five kits back to ThunderClan (Alder, Spark, Jay, Holly, and Lion) he becomes a pseudo fatherly figure to them. While Squirrel never discloses a father to the kits, some of the clan assume things. (Check out my original AU post here)

why did i do this to myself
yep its a Burning Thistles Friendship Map as of Chapter 101! ...well, and a few spoilers, technically, but shhhhh. they’re minor anyway lol. i made sure not to do the big spoilery ones ;)
betcha cant identify every character here lol (i feel any avid BT fan could name 31/32 of them, bcus that 32nd one is a curveball whose only been important in like... 1/101 chapters. and prob only mentioned in.... 5/101?)
anyway here’s all the names, have fun putting them to faces: Fireheart, Sandstorm, Cherryfur, Creekflower, Oliver, Airleap, Morningflower, Onewhisker, Copperleaf, Dawncloud, Grasswhisker, Silverstream, Lightningfur, Mousefur, Runningwind, Darkstripe, Longtail, Dustpelt, Ravenpaw, Barley, Runningbrook, Ashheart, Cinderfur, Tallpoppy, Mistyfoot, Graystripe, Gremlin, Brackenfur, Feathercloud, Cricketheart, Scraps.
so there are also a lot more characters in this “friend group” but i tried to only hit the major ones. but just to have the full scope here, I’m gonna list every main-main character’s friend group. this means NOT including kin, so no sibs/parents/niblings
Fireheart’s: Runningwind (BFF), Darkstripe (ex-BFF/brother-figure, still wants to be friends w/), Sandstorm (crush), Cherryfur (friend through his sis Creekflower), Graystripe (apprentice), Cinderpelt (apprentice), Brackenfur (apprentice), Oliver (through Creekflower), Mistyfoot (apprenticehood friends), Stonefur (apphood friends, not as strong as Misty’s), Cinderfur (apphood friends), Onewhisker (apphood friends)
Creekflower’s: Cherryfur (BFF), Sandstorm (frenemies through Cherryfur/Fireheart, who are both friends w/ her), Brindleface (queen friends), Runningwind (through Fireheart), Longtail (mutual hatred; through Cherryfur) Mousefur (through Sandstorm), Oliver (mates), Oliver’s kittypet friends (through Oliver)
Lightningfur’s: Silverstream (BFF), Mousefur (ex-BFF, no longer friends), Rippleclaw (supporter), Sedgecreek (Sedge has a crush on her; she hates Sedge), Beetlenose (supporter), Mallowtail (supporter), Grasswhisker (thinks Grass is annoying but also Grass is her step-mom technically), Vixenleap (supporter/through Grasswhisker), Shadepelt (supporter), Greenflower (supporter), Mistyfoot (through Silverstream) .... (really Lightningfur has no friends at this point since Silverstream’s death)

Frostfur’s: Willowpelt (formerly), Spottedleaf (formerly), Redtail (formerly), Whitestorm (formerly/strained politeness on Whitestorm’s end), Tigerclaw (reluctantly/formerly), Speckletail (BFF; starting to strain)
also everyone hates Grasswhisker and its... kinda sad. like, hello, she’s a victim... yeah she’s been really mean, but truly it’s been out of fear and desperation for Thistlestar to love her and only her just like she loveslovesloves him (why can’t he just love her? why isnt she good enough? her mind cries). like Airleap was the only one who was like “Hey wait a minute-” (and now everyone hates her bcus she was mean to Airleap... by blaming him for murder)

Tumblr media
Bluestar returns to camp to find the aftermath and decides they will keep Brokenstar as a prisoner which almost everyone protests against
She renames him Brokentail and he is put in the little prison in camp
Tumblr media
Princess reveals to Fireheart that she’d felt useless during the fight despite all her battle training while in Scourge’s group
Goldenflower offers to teach her how to fight like a ThunderClan cat which Princess accepts
Once Fireheart’s injures have healed up a bit he takes Cinderpaw to the WindClan border to meet up with Hopfoot to he can assess
Hopfoot gives her some advice to the best of his ability but informs Cinderpaw that she and Fireheart will have to figure out her limits and adjust accordingly
Tumblr media
RiverClan attempts to take back Sunning rocks and Fireheart ends up fighting Silverstream but lets her go after seeing Graystripe
Leopardfur attacks him and nearly kills him while Tigerclaw stands by and watches
Graystripe rescues him and Fireheart wonders if Tigerclaw was hoping Fireheart would be killed so he would never be allowed to reveal the truth behind Sweetwhisker’s death
Fireheart and Graystripe partially amend their relationship

Leafpool's Wish Rewritten Chapter 6
Tumblr media
Part 5
Part 7
Beginning
Using her tail, Leafpool brushed aside the last of the leaf wraps and after wandering out from the Herb store, she was surprised to find herself with nothing else to do. Just standing there idly for a moment. Thinking hard on something she’d missed. Yet she couldn’t. She had; checked up on the separate dens, counted all the seeds and preserved every herb. And it wasn’t like she could go into the territory to gather even more herbs, it would be a waste, as the plants needed to be left alone to grow for future seasons. The Catmint stock especially plentiful, any attempt greencough made to sprout up in the Clan again, had swiftly been taken care of.
Realising this wasn’t normal in the slightest. Even Lone Medicine cats in the middle of leafbare had some free time to spare. Crouching down on the hard floor, Leafpool gazed round the cave. For a moment, she considered going back to her nest but quickly decided against it. All she’d done recently was work and sleep. Not having shared tongues or having a friendly conversation in days.
This had become her unspoken prison, forcing herself to stay within the grey walls for as long as possible. Desperately needs to avoid her Clanmates to stop the detection of the kits growing inside her. Reaching to her paws, Leafpool began to pace against the back wall while in her thoughts.
It had been four sunrises since the Moonpool meeting, where the exposure of her pregnancy really should have happened by now. Usually, by a half-moon in, which Leafpool was roughly now, the pregnant belly would be visibly swollen enough for keen eyes to notice. Experienced Queens like Daisy and Ferncloud should have definitely noticed at the very least. Yet they hadn’t.
To most cats in her situation, this would have been a good thing. Nobody suspects a thing. But Leafpool’s Medical knowledge told her to know better. It was the opposite problem now. No longer was the threat coming from outside but inside. The Algae had done a remarkable job keeping her stomach down. Besides becoming more solid, it had reduced the size. However, now Leafpool feared for the development of her litter, not having enough room to properly grow if she continued to halt the natural processes.
Worse, Leafpool had to make do with even smaller shares of prey than she’d usually get for Leaf-Bare, needing to sacrifice it to plump up Squirrelflight. Which was starting to take effect, her sister having gained more fat around the belly. Which to the sisters’ relief, had shattered the slightest chance of doubt from everyone about Squirrelflight’s pregnancy.
Besides Goldenflower, Leafpool was the thinnest cat in the Clan. And even that was being challenged. Like an owl spying for prey, Leafpool watched as her Clanmates went about their business, seemingly her new hobby now.
Outside the Elder’s den, Mousefur was daring Longtail to taste Goldenflower’s frog, the blind tom adamantly refusing. Even if the slimy prey could only be enjoyed by Shadowclan cats, since it meant the difference between life and death, Goldenflower had happily taken the meal. Every hunting patrol Brambleclaw led, had been working overtime on that one small marsh patch, to simply bring back a single frog or two.
Since it was Leafbare, any prey like frogs and lizards were rare, needing to find their hibernation spots, which was harder said than done. Unclear on just how longer Thunderclan’s only marsh could provide a steady supply of eatable prey for Goldenflower. For once though, it had allowed
Brambleclaw finally relaxed, taking back his apprentice’s training from Brightheart. Berrypaw bounced eagerly after the brown tabby, as they joined the other mentors and apprentices for a training session. It included his littermates, Hazelpaw and Mousepaw, starting to recover from their grief. Though it would probably take Sorreltail's kin somewhat longer to get back into a routine.
From on top of the Highledge, Thornclaw stormed out of the Leader’s den, Firestar hurriedly following after him. Ignoring his leader’s pleas for calm, Thornclaw stumbled down the boulders in a huff, suddenly going from a secondary deputy to a regular warrior again. Showing good signs, Firestar strongly lashed his tail as he stood firmly on the ledge. The neck wound was reduced to nothing but a slightly thinner strip of fur, almost fully recovered.
Even Ashfur had improved, not acting aggressively to everyone around him. He had a sudden shift, sparking up his old reputation as a respected warrior like the last few moons hadn't happened. Despite his casual interactions with his Clanmates, he'd neglected to maintain any close relationships, purposefully ignoring Ferncloud and Birchpaw.
It was ironic, all her patients were on the path to full recovery, but the one responsible for healing them was the only one worsening. And Thunderclan needed it as well. Once all their problems are taken care of first, they could all unite later for the looming threat of the longer and colder nights Leafbare had yet to bring.
Grinding her stubby claws into the floor, Leafpool searched through her mind for a task that had to be done. Though for a slit heartbeat, Leafpool thought she could see her old mentor, Cinderpelt in front of her. After a shake of her head, she realised it was only little Cinderkit, her tabby pelt and straight back leg nothing like her deceased kin.
She came plodding into the cave, carrying a juicy vole. “Oh, hello Cinderkit.”, Leafpool greeted the kit, “Is that for me?”.The grey tabby forcefully shoved it from her grip to Leafpool’s, “Cloudtail told me to give this to you because Brightheart thinks you’re not looking after yourself.”, she scolded the Medicine cat, “So make sure to eat every bite. You need to stay big and strong for Thunderclan.”.
Leafpool stared at the younger cat, jaw hanging open. Unsure of whether she should be impressed or insulted. Though Cinderkit gave the expression no mind, beginning to wander back outside. Quickly dismissing it, Leafpool decided to grab the chance while it was still there, “Cinderkit, can you hold on for a moment.”.
Cinderkit paused, blinking in her eyes in the dusky light, eerily the same shade of blue as Cinderpelt’s, waiting for Leafpool to carry on. Refusing to be intimidated by a mere kit, Leafpool tried approaching calmly, “I’ve noticed you have a keen eye for your Clanmates health.”, She mewed, “Have you ever considered becoming a Medicine cat?”
The question didn’t seem to surprise the young she-cat, casually scratching her feathery check fur with her back paw, “I have.”, She admitted, “But it seems kind of boring- I want to do something new. Sorry, Leafpool.”. Ignoring Cinderkit’s strange wording, Leafpool shook her head, wrapping her tail around her body, “You don’t need to say sorry, I was only asking.”, Leafpool meowed, “Though, if you or your littermates are ever interested, you’re always welcome to ask a few questions.”.
Leaning over the limp vole, Leafpool pricked at it thoughtfully with her claws, deciding which parts to spare for Squirrelflight. However, her neck fur rose when she realised Cinderkit hadn’t left the den, her chilling words making Leafpool shiver, “Molepaw probably would have liked being a Medicine cat- He never liked hurting others.”, she muttered.
Turning her attention back to Cinderkit, Leafpool could only stare at her, wordless. Though wisdom and calmness radiated off the young cat, like dew steaming off a grass blade in the sunlight. “I know you’ve been blaming yourself for my brother’s death. But I don’t blame you, none of us do You tried saving him.”. Before a single breath could escape Leafpool’s lips, like the wind, Cinderkit had already exited the den and met up with Cloudtail on the other side of camp.
With nothing else to do, Leafpool laid down, clutching the vole in her front paws. Cinderkit was right. She had been the one to try and save Molepaw, not indirectly kill him through her forbidden mate. Even Starclan had confirmed the two had no link.
This wasn’t the first time Leafpool had a clanmate slip away within those stone walls and it wouldn't be the last. But every time, she always had Cinderpelt by her side, the best healer she’d known. When cats died under her mentor’s care, Leafpool truly knew there had been no hope for them. But without Cinderpelt, without that reference, Leafpool would never know if any of her patients were beyond saving or not. She didn’t know her strength as a Medicine cat.
Would Molepaw and Rainwhisker be alive if someone else had cared for them?
If Leafpool didn’t trust herself, then she could trust Cinderpelt. There was a reason her mentor had allowed Leafpool to carry her full name and hadn’t kept her an apprentice. Leafpool was ready. Everyone kept insisting she just had to do her best and that’s the only thing she could do. After all, She was only a cat.
Feeling like a boulder had been lifted from her shoulders, Leafpool finally embedded her teeth into the Vole, its rich flavours washing over her mouth. Lost in her greed, she was unable to stop herself from gorging down the majority of the fresh-kill. Despite how much she wanted to simple luxury of a full meal, Leafpool forced herself to leave the Vole’s head and lower back untouched, needed for the fake pregnancy.
Burying the food scraps under her nest for future use, Leafpool paused for a heartbeat, revelling in the feeling of an almost full belly. When she twisted her neck back, about to start cleaning her scrappy coat, Leafpool caught a glimpse of the outside world. Returning her gaze, Brightheart and Sandstorm stood side by side, lowered heads, whispering. Making Leafpool’s fur ripple like the tiny waves on the Lake’s shore. They weren’t suspicious of her, were they?
Hastily, Leafpool attempted to make herself look busy, stalking into a shaded corner, kneading at an already plump nest with her front legs, plumping it up to excess. It was no good, as Brightheart stopped out of the gloomy chamber, like a crow pecking around a wormhole for its wriggling prey. Vaguely, she had hoped Brightheart would come to Leafpool, but that quickly turned out not to be the case.
Instead, Brightheart remained just beyond her rocky hideaway, in the open light, her silent waiting forcing Leafpool to emerge. “We’re getting worried, Leafpool.”, Brightheart got straight to the point as the Medicine cat approached, “Why haven’t you been eating properly? How do you expect to care for the Clan if you can’t even care for yourself?”.
Stop Talking! Leafpool desperately wanted to cry out loud. They were clipping away at her walls of lies, threatening for the dark truth to slip out like a disturbed ant’s hill. While her mind was a raging battlefield of needed ideas, Leafpool’s face remained as blank as a sheet of ice. Say something, you stupid she-cat!
“Leafpool?”, Brightheart asked gently, blinking, slightly unnerved by an unmoving Leafpool.
The orangey patches of Brightheart’s pelt seemed to spark into a fierce fiery red, melting away the snowy white uncoated. Imagining a dark ginger she-cat, Squirrelflight standing there instead of Brightflower. Leafpool needed her sister more than ever before.
Before she could control herself, a lost Leafpool allowed her frantic thoughts to form into pathetic words, “I need your help.”, She slipped out to Brightheart.
“Do you need me back in the Medicine cat den?”, the ginger and white guessed, tail tip twitching. Unsure how Leafpool had gotten there, she just allowed the strong current of the conversation to sweep her away, blindly following where it went. As long as it leads in the opposite direction of her kits. “Yes.”, Leafpool abruptly spoke, making up everything on the fly, “I wasn’t as prepared as I thought- So you mind coming back? Only for a little while.”.
The warrior briefly gazed into space, before returning to Leafpool, “Have you tried looking for an apprentice yet?”, Brightheart mewed calmly.
“I’m trying.”, Leafpool replied, “I’ve asked Cinderkit to spread the word. But I can’t force anyone to be my apprentice if they don’t want to.”. A hovering thought abruptly hit Leafpool like a speeding monster; since her kits would only think of her as their mother’s sister, they could very well consider becoming her apprentice. Delight struck through her like a lightning bolt. Even if she couldn’t be a mother to them, she’d promise to be the perfect mentor!
“So- It’s this all it is?”, Brightheart wondered, breaking into Leafpool’s hopes for the future, “Struggling to adapt without Cinderpelt?”. Needing to get out of this situation, Leafpool simply nodded. Though Brightheart didn’t seem convinced, still pressing on like a strong river current, “Are you sure?”, Brightheart mewed.
“I’m sure.”, Leafpool spoke firmly, trying to get Brightheart off her trail, like trying to scratch off a stubborn tick. Only this one could expose a lot more than just a drop of blood. At last, the white she-cat shrugged, “Very well.”, heading in the opposite direction, “Call me when you need to.”.
Unable to afford another single scrap of suspicion, Leafpool instantly spans around on the spot, rushing towards the Warrior’s den. A fox-length from the entrance, Squirrelflight was sharing tongue with Whitewing, while Brambleclaw awkwardly crouched on the outskirts. Ignoring the slow forgiveness between the two mates, Leafpool prodded Squirrelflight with her muzzle.
Raising her head from Whitewing’s fluffy white fur, a dozy Squirrelflight took a while to recognize the panic on Leafpool’s face. However, as soon as she did, she abruptly got up, Whitewing and
Brambleclaw blinked in confusion.
***********************************************
“We should have thought of this earlier!”, Squirrelflight hissed at the musty air, sharpening her claws on a tangling tree that rot like a warm from bursting from the ground. Away from camp, the sisters had found the trees opening up for a small mossy mound, serving as a good vantage point for any possible spies in all directions. Choosing the distant backdrop of Shadowclan’s pines rather than Windclan’s moors. Despite how unlikely it was, Crowfeather couldn’t be allowed to spot them if he was out on a border patrol.
“Agreed.”, Leafpool huffed, guilt sparking up from her gut, as the kits seemed to become more active than ever, beating down hard on her belly, even stronger than her rushing heartbeat. Smoothing her aching belly down with her tongue, Leafpool somehow expected to calm unconscious bundles of fur. I and your mother will keep you safe, little ones, I promise.
“And to think this entire time we didn’t have a long-term plan. How can we be so mouse-brained to think, you can somehow give birth while still living in camp?”, Squirrelflight questioned, unclear if she asking Leafpool or herself. Though it didn’t matter. Every suggestion or concern in this conversation could not be afforded to be ignored.
“The problems will come much earlier than that, Squirrelflight.”, Leafpool pointed out, “Herbs can only do so much before someone is bound to notice me plumping up in the middle of Leafbare. Cats are already questioning my changing eating habits, including Sandstorm.”.
“But I thought the Algae was keeping the swelling down?”, Squirrelflight exclaimed, wide-eyed in surprised. While Squirrelflight had reaped the benefits of their extra prey, now having the plumpness to rival a Riverclan cat, Leafpool had become as scrawny as a struggling rouge. And to think Crowfeather and her thought they could raise a family in the unknown world outside the Clan territories.
“It is but not in the way we want.”, Leafpool revealed, “It’s making me lose weight. At this rate, it could put the kits in danger. Squirrelflight- I don’t know what to do.” For the longest time, no one dared speak expect the rippling breeze weaving among the hanging branches, rattling them like chattering teeth. Questions raced through her head on what in the name of Starclan they could do.
A single answer always tried creeping to the surface, but Leafpool kept banishing it to the darkest corners of her mind. There was only one option. But she couldn’t. Not after she caused so much suffering to Thunderclan. Though, what other choice was there?
Only Squirrelflight had the guts to finally speak the unspeakable words, “Then we have no choice.”, She whispered as harshly as the bitter frost surrounding them, “You have to leave Thunderclan territory to give birth to those kits.”.
“There has to be another way.”, Leafpool gasped, stumbling to find some excuse in the jumbled mess of her mind. It was pointless to try and fight it anymore. As Leafpool knew deep down in her heart, that every word that Squirrelflight said was true.
“You said yourself the kits’ growth could already be affected. We’re not taking more risks.”, Squirrelflight painfully reminded her, “You have to get out of here and focus on yourself and them. It’ll be a moon at most. Thunderclan will be fine.”.
“A whole moon without a Medicine cat, Squirrelflight!”, Leafpool repeated, “Too much could happen.”. Thinking of the endless possibilities of how Clanmates could get injured or sick, slowly sinking further down, left there to rot in a nest with no Medicine cat. Could Greencough break through their only cures? There couldn't be a repeat of Molepaw's and Rainwhisker's death.
“But we’re not helpless.”, Squirrelflight argued, refusing to believe Thunderclan’s weakness, “You’re already working with Brightheart, ain’t you? And Sandstorm knows some basics as well. Their combined effects will be enough to last the moon, I sure.”.
For once, Squirrelflight caught the harshness in her own words, flattening her pelt again, her mews more gentle, carrying on, “It’ll only be temporary- Once you get back, you’ll take up the position as if nothing happened. It’s either this or your kits end up like Stormfur. Or worse.”.
Having to admit defeat, Leafpool’s head drooped down in a sigh, “So how exactly are we going to do this?”, she breathed shallowly.
“Well-”, Squirrelflight started abruptly, suddenly all the confident assurance drained out, “You’ll have to find somewhere to hide away from the Clans but also safe enough to raise kits.”
Leafpool flattened her ears, “Staying within any of the other Clan territories is completely out of the question.”, she mewed, “A mouse is more likely to sprout wings than Shadowclan is to keep our secret.”, she remarked, feeling like she was in Squirrelflight’s pelt for a heartbeat.
The tiny whirlpools within Squirrelflight’s head started spinning as she attempted to come up with ideas. Her lips twitched as she muttered quiet words to herself. “What about the island for Gatherings?”, Squirrelflight finally suggested, “It’s small and low on prey, but it only needs to support one cat.”. Seemly impressed at herself, her tail tip stuck straight up.
For the first time though, it was Leafpool’s logic that surpassed her sister’s creativity, “Where I am supposed to go during the Gathering though?”, Leafpool asked, “And I’ll still be within the Clan borders for anyone to see.”
Small fireflies flared up in Squirrelflight’s green eyes as a moment of brilliance slipped in, “The Horse place then!”, she exclaimed excitedly, relieved, “It’s perfect. No Clan cats will patrol there and it would be the safest place for your kits.”.
Memories washed over her vision as she recalled Daisy stumbling into camp all those moons ago, trying to get three helpless scraps of fur to safety from the Twoleg’s clutches. “Don’t you remember why Daisy left there in the first place? That other loner, Floss, had her kits taken away by the Twolegs.”.
Her heart pounding against her chest, when she released this would be her - Take on the relentless and lonely task of keeping her kits safe in their first days of life, against the entire world of dangers waiting to lash out.
Even cats she’d grown up with her entire life were a threat. Echoing Leafpool’s hidden thoughts, Squirrelflight sorrowfully and slowly shook her head, “There will be threats no matter where you go, Leafpool.”, She pointed out, “It’s either Twolegs and Loners in the Horseplace- Or foxes and badgers in the wilderness. At least Twolegs are easier to avoid.”.
“You’re right-”, Leafpool muttered, “But that still wouldn’t explain my explicable disappearance and return for an entire moon.”.
Forcing herself to speak it aloud, Squirrelflight hesitantly answered, “Greystripe.”. Instantly making Leafpool shudder like a frightened mouse, not liking where this was heading. Though Squirrelflight carried on regardless, “When you’ll have to leave for the Horse place soon, I could claim you were stolen by stolen Twolegs. The only difference is, that you can claim you escaped them when you eventually return.”.
“H-how soon will this have to be?”, Leafpool asked. voice trembling, threatening to crack under the stress like she was being crushed by a landslide. Unable to face her, Squirrelflight’s vacant expression drifted into space, dully shrugging, “Thunderclan already suspicious, so we haven’t got time to waste. It will either have to be today or tomorrow.”
The words rang hollow for a heartbeat, like trying to catch a thin thread of cobweb caught in a breeze. Soon it all came caving in, legs threatening to topple over like trees in a mighty gale.
All her kin and friends. How could she betray them like this? Their father had already suffered through the loss of his best friend. Now they were going to make him think the same fate had met his daughter- Sandstorm as well.
Yet Leafpool bitterly repeated Starclan’s warning under her breath, “With each new breath you take, you must tell another lie”, she whispered with a disgusted snort. No matter how much she hated it, she still had to force herself on.
“If we’re going to do this-”, Leafpool muttered, “We have to make sure Thunderclan is prepared. Could you help gather as many herbs as possible?”. Reaching her paws, Leafpool slid down the earthy hillside, flickering for Squirrelflight to join her, running through the most vital herbs Brightheart would need. Without complaining, Squirrelflight pressed her flank into Leafpool’s as they began the long task, the Medicine cat pressing her muzzle into a tuft of scrawny grass. Snuffling like a wild hog in search of seeds and roots.
*******************************************
No one batted an eye when the sisters emerged from the thorn tunnel, even when dusk was creeping across the sky. It was unsurprising they could spend a whole day together, having each other’s back since their birth. Which Leafpool couldn’t be more grateful for. The only small detail that sparked curiosity was the absurd amount of herbs overflowing from their jaws like green waterfalls.
Despite leafbare killing off the majority of herbs, Leafpool had used every scrap of knowledge to search for surviving stems and leaves. Even a tiny bulb on a dead branch would do. A day’s trip could only do so much. They only had time to gather the most basic and wide-use herbs before Leafpool was forced to leave. Sooner than she cared to admit.
Back in camp, Squirrelflight and Leafpool would have usually separated due to their clashing duties. However needing all the help she could get, the Ginger Queen helped regardless, simply keeping everyone’s questions are bay with her venomous words. Until sunset, they worked overtime to count, preserve and stocked every last herb. Though without even a basic knowledge, Squirrelflight was stuck just taking orders, much to her displeasure.
By the finished, the Herb store organisation was completely uneven, with different plant piles towering over others. Somehow seemingly even more baron than before. They had no time to fuse over it or even catch their breath, as they still needed to make sure Thunderclan was in safe paws in Leafpool’s absence. While Squirrelflight searched for Sandstorm, Leafpool called for Brightheart.
Earlier setting up a long row of herbs for Brightheart’s memorise, they kept on looping between each name, ingraining into the helper’s mind. “-Yarrow for making cats throw up and clear poison. Feverfew is to keep down chills.”, Leafpool stated, pointing out each herb with her tail, The white and ginger Warrior took a pulse, repeating them back to Leafpool, “Juniper berries for belly aches. Daisy leaves for joints. Yarrow for poisons. Feverfew for chills.”, she repeated.
Quickly nodding to signal she’d gotten it right, Leafpool nervously glanced out of the Medicine den. Curled up beside the Fresh-kill pile, Squirrelflight had been busy trying to subtly test Sandstorm’s medical knowledge through the cover of casual conversation. However the only thing the barrage of endless questions seemed to be testing was their mother’s patience.
Don’t be suspicious, Leafpool silently begged her sister, turning her attention back to the teaching. Though the eventual moment where Brightheart would get fed up had finally come, as
Brightheart’s signal green pierced into Leafpool like slashing claws, “Look- Leafpool. I know you said you wanted my help- and I do enjoy it. But at this rate, I’ll become your apprentice.”, Brightheart mewed, half joking, half serious.
“I’ve kept you here quite a while, haven’t I?”, Leafpool admitted, swallowing in unease.
“It is a bit much, honestly.”, Brightheart sighed, tiredness croaking in her voice, “Needing to learn all those herbs on top of my regular warrior duties.”.
It was true. Once Leafpool had faked her kidnapping by Twolegs, it would probably be Brightheart forced to take her place. Even if it was temporary, no one else would know that. For all Brightheart knew, she’d be in an unwanted position for the rest of my life. Forgive me, Leafpool silently cried out, if innocent kits weren’t involved, I wouldn’t make you go through this.
“I think you've done more than enough actually, Brightheart.”, Leafpool praised, starting to brush the leaf wraps across the Herb Store, “So I’ll only call you for the real emergencies from now on.”. Before leaving, Brightheart brushed her tail against Leafpool’s flank heaving with nerves, “You’re ready to serve Thunderclan alone, Leafpool, even if you don’t think it - Overcoming every challenge, from the Great Journey to Crowfeather. You've proven yourself more than enough times.”, she purred. Unable to find the words in time, Leafpool just watched Brightheart pad away into the crisp twilight, tainted in purple.
Soon, another cat took Brightheart’s place in the den as Squirrelflight dipped her head, satisfied, “Sandstorm seems to remember most of the basics.”, she reported. At least one piece of good news lifted Leafpool’s rapidly declining mood, putting some of the pressure off of Brightheart.
“Then Thunderclan will be safe.”, Leafpool purred, relieved.

Ok, so I honestly love this au. @nappingpaperclip
So first, Rusty gets a prophecy from Starclan to go to the forest where he’ll meet someone who will help him and who he will help, so he does.
Instead of being attacked by Graypaw; he is needed by Spottedleaf and Bluestar who both got a prophecy that had to do with Fire and a entity at the end of the forest, where they explore and find Rusty.
They of course immediately invite him into the clan where he trains as a medicine cat apprentice under Spottedleaf. He is a quick learner and often is super helpful and has one of the strongest connections with Starclan. (Even stronger then Jayfeather)
He does still find Yellowfang but treats her wounds and brings her back to camp and treats her more with the permission of Bluestar.
He also knows before they tell him that both Bluestar and Yellowfang had kits with toms that they weren’t supposed to and sees a chance to do something… but what is it?
He often is picked on by other apprentices for being a kitty pet and a medicine cat. He isn’t friends with Graypaw but with Ravenpaw. Who Firepaw sees his trauma and lies to Bluestar saying Starclan said that Ravenpaw is better with having a different mentor where Bluestar excepts this and makes Mousefur his mentor.
He then has a prophecy saying ‘A scarred face will strike, kits will squeal and death will unfold’ which is Clawface and Spottedleaf with the kits: this prevents Spottedleaf getting killed but she does get wounded and Firepaw is easy to tell cats what to do when the kits are still taken and are able to get them back.
Firepaw then learns about Tigerclaw and how he killed Redtail and tell Bluestar. Bluestar is at first hesitant at believing Firepaw but remembers that his prophecies are never wrong, so she exiles Tigerclaw, though Firepaw knows that’s not enough.
Also, Cinderpelt doesn’t become a medicine cat! Cause by this time Tigerclaw was already exiled so couldn’t lure her. Nor was she Fire’s apprentice as he’s still an apprentice himself.
Spottedleaf and Yellowfang take Firepaw to the moonstone! Naming him Firesight for his way in seeing prophecies so clearly and how strong his connection is with Starclan.
Later, he gets a prophecy saying ‘your kin will spill blood, the blood of a tiger, but blood of innocents will run before there will be peace.’ - The bloodclan battle of course
He explains this to his mentors and they are shocked as they never expected this.
Hehe fire time
The fire forest happens but kills Bramblekit cause Firesight had to lead and help cats to get to the Sunningrocks. Goldenflower does get greatly burned cause she went to find him but found him already dead and ran back. Yellowfang and that one elder does still die and now the only medicine cats are Spottedleaf and Firesight
Duh duh duhhhh SPOTTEDLEAF DIESSS! Instead of Brindleface dying by Tigerclaw to get the dogs the taste of cat blood, he kills Spottedleaf when she’s collecting herbs! It wasn’t to long when his other den mate died but now Firesight is alone. Bluefur was filled with grief BUT did make everyone warriors so Swiftpaw doesn’t die stupidly and Brightpaw doesn’t get torn to shreds.
Also, Whitestorm is deputy is I never mentioned that? Or Sandstorm- up to you!
Blue star still dies from drowning, but isn’t saved by Firesight so her body drowns! Swiftfang is the one to be saved by Bluestar instead of Firesight while he’s back at sunningrock taking care of everyone
Ima skip saying Bloodclan battle was won. Sandstar or Whitestar took them down with the other clans-
Firesight has a forbid with Sandstar/storm -if she doesn’t become leader- again your choice
And this is when the new medicine cat rule is made. ‘A medicine cat is permitted to have kits if they are a male or the female medicine cat who wants kits have an apprentice for the period of time when she is caring for them’
Skipping, everything in the 2nd arc goes somewhat of the same. Though Squirrel gets the prophecy sense Bramble is dead, Tawny joins her sense she’s her mate and lives in Thunderclan as she would have felt guilty leaving Goldenflower.
Rowanclaw goes instead of Tawny for Shadowclan
Feather still dies and that all happens
Firesight is able to see the 6 traveling but doesn’t relay it to anyone but his daughter and apprentice, Leafpaw who also sees this-
Ima stop here, if you injoyed, feel free to ask for more!

Warriors MAP ideas I have stirring up in the back of my mind
:readmore:
Canon centered Maps
Little Dark Age (MGMT) - Firestar
It'd surround Firestar's (originally) odd prophetic nature and how Starclan seems to be hard focused on him and his kin in terms of favoritism and visions
Aesthetic: Desaturated with bright accents on Firestar (most apparent accents) and his kin
Feed the Machine (Poor Man's Poison) - Bloodclan
Funny little idea of Bloodclan post Scourge in Ravenpaw's Path. Smaller, kinda pathetic compared to Darkest Hour Bloodclan. Mostly follows Hoot and Jumper's reign with Barley flashbacks in-between
Aesthetic: Primarily sepia-tone and washed out colors
Iron Lotus (Mili) - Longtail
Past and present Longtail and his relationship with Tigerclawstar and Mousefur. Very reluctant to move past his living life and reflects on it as a form of trying to convince himself to continue onto Starclan.
Aesthetic: Heavy symbolism and some sketched portions of the terrain compared to a more detailed Longtail, especially when reflecting on his blinding and death. Flat colored except for certain sections
Battle Scars (Acoustic) (Paradise Fears) - Journey to the Lake Territory
Focused on the clans during their journey to the lake territory. Most of the meat is based in the journey to the new territory itself, with the clans bonding together. Before first chorus reflects on destruction of the forest, section after second chorus focuses on Crowpaw and Branbleclaw reflecting back on Feathertail's death. Primarily meant to be a feel-good kind of MAP.
Aesthetic: Nothing specific; strong, saturated colors
AU based Maps
Body Terror Song (AJJ) - The Cycle Repeats AU
Linked to the first Map idea, Goosefeather while in Starclan notices a dark pattern between what happened with him and Starclan's new obsession. He is regulated forcibly to the background as what happened before only continues where another cat goes into a downwards spiral as visions plague his mind, driving him further and further from his clanmates.
Aesthetic: Dark colors, Goosefeather and Firestar each have similar forehead markings, with it only growing darker the deeper Firestar is driven
I 'unno maybe more in the future I'll update when I have more ideas

OK so as far as big families go I think we can sample three main blood lines in modern Thunderclan, by which I mean beginning of AVOS because by TBC I don't know who anyone's related to.
FrostLion House: the four kits of Frostfur and Lionheart (Cinderpelt, Brackenfur, Brightheart and Thornclaw).
BrackenSorrel are their main line, they had six kits including 3 who died before reproducing (Molepaw, Seedpaw, Honeyfern). The three others mated with 1) a first cousin from the FrostLion line (Lilyheart) 2) an out-of-clan-DNA tom (Poppyfrost) and 3) a Firekin (Cinderheart). Let's see the CinderBlaze couple later.
Descendants of Brackensorrel who aren't related to other big lines are thus Poppyfrost's kits (CherryMole, no offspring) and, somehow, Lilyheart's (Leafshade, Larksong and Honeyfur, I think?) although we'll see that Brightheart's line is vaguely related to Firekin. The only one of them to have had offspring is Larksong, who mated into the Firekin.
Cinderpelt didn't have kits.
Brightheart mated with Cloudtail, who is technically a Firekin but only undirectly. Thus all BrightCloud kits count as FrostLion House descent despite their vague blood relationship with the Firekin.
ThornBlossom happened a bit later and since Blossomfall is the only Graystripe kin to have reproduced in Thunderclan their lines merged and the Gray House became part of the FrostLion Line.
DustFern House: the seven kits of Dustpelt and Ferncloud (Spiderleg, Shrewpaw, Birchfall, Hollykit, Larchkit, Icecloud, Foxleap)
Only two had kits. Birchfall and Spiderleg.
Spiderleg had kits with an Out-of-Clan-DNA (Daisy) and had two kits. Neither of them had offspring.
Birchfall mated with a FrostLion offspring by the Brightheart line, namely Whitewing. They had two kits who both had kits in their turn, including one in another clan. Only two of Birchfall's grandkits still live in Thunderclan and neither had offspring so far.
Fire-Tiger house, in which I'll count Lionblaze, Hollyleaf and Jayfeather as being Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight's kits for counting reasons although I acknowledge they have outside blood. The five kits of BrambleSquirrel (Lionblaze, Hollyleaf, Jayfeather, Sparkpelt, Alderheart).
Two of the five became medicine cats and one died without offspring.
The other two managed to have nine kits between the two of them. Two left the clan forever, one died at birth. We're left with six, only three of them having offspring so far (Fernsong, with Ivypool so it's actually the same line oas the DustFern's only line, Sorrelstripe with Snowbush of the BrightCloud Line and Spotfur with Stemleaf from the Thornclaw line) -> all the lines from the Fire-Tiger line, so far, are related to either FrostLion or DustFern, or both.
Hence the following statement: despite a good number of unrelated families (GrayMillie, FrostLion, DustFern, Fire-Tiger, Daisy's Line, Sorreltail's two adult brothers, Mousefur and Runningwind litter...) all of these have fewer and fewer reproducing offspring at every generation.
There's only 4 fertile lines (so far. some are not dead yet and might find a mate later on but I doubt it) coming out of the bunch of grandkits FrostLion had: the CinderBlaze line, the Larksong line, the Whitewing line and the Stemleaf line. Note that makes it even worse: Cinder and Larksong's mates are first cousins, and Stemleaf's mate is a Cinderblaze kit, making it actually only three lines, two of which are related on both sides.
There's only one fertile line in Thunderclan coming from the DustFern family despite them having had 7 kits: it's Ivypool's. She has two living kits who might find a mate in upcoming books but it's not ensured. If we cheat and count the out-of-thunderclan line, then there's also Dovewing's. But only one of her kits is set up to find a mate and it's not even ensured that kit will have offspring of her own. Note that makes it even worse: the only fertile line coming from DustFern is related to FrostLion by the mother's side so it's not adding to the previously mentionned lines but one of them. And on the father's side they're related to the Fire-Tiger line.
Which means that out of all the cats present in Thunderclan by the allegiances of ASC, there are exactly SEVEN that have outside blood (Mousewhisker, Cherryfall, Molewhisker, Finleap, Twigbranch, Bumblestripe, and Stormcloud) and no kits.
Out of those seven, three are from Daisy's line and the only representatives left of it. Chances are they won't find a mate before their death, despite the profusion of non-relatives in the clan.
Finleap and Twigbranch's whole arc as mates is that they won't have kits.
Bumblestripe and Stormcloud both were set up to have mates but it failed (Dovewing preferred Tigerheart and Cherryfall/Stormcloud didn't become a thing). They probably won't get one before their deaths either.
We are getting at a genetics bottleneck despite having a bunch of families not related to each otehr at all! Despite regularly bringing new blood (Daisy and three of her kits have no ties to Thunderclan, Stormcloud, Millie, with Graystripe's father unknown he's only related to Sorreltail's kits, more recently the law changed to allow that...) most of it is not even used (only one of Daisy's five kits had offspring, the others died before reproducing. Stormcloud was teased as a future Cherryfall mate but nothing happened. only one of Millie's kits reproduced and it was with someone who was already from a prominent family and related to everyone).
Spotfur's kits will be related to both the Fire-Tiger Kin by their mother's father, the FrostLion and Willowpelt's descent by their mother's mother, the FrostLion Line by their father's father and the Willowpelt's descent by their father's mother.
The only cats they could become mates with in the whole clan who weren't born before their older-litter uncle and aunts are Nightheart, Finchlight, Honeyfur or Leafshade, all of which are their second cousins.
AND THE WORST PART IS THAT THIS TRAINWRECK COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED JUST BY MAKING MOUSEWHISKER, HAZELTAIL, FOXLEAP, ICECLOUD AND OTHERS FIND MATES IN THE CLAN, NOT GIVE KITS TO THORNCLAW AND NOT RETCON WHITESTORM AS FERNCLOUD'S FATHER.
