I love drawings these sillies very much!! These are a bit old?? I think I drew these sometime last year, but they're still nice I think

They are super fun to draw!! And honestly pretty easy to draw in different artstyles too, the designs of the characters are all so well done!! Might draw them some more (my welcome home fixation will probably return with a burning vengeance thanks to the new update) so stay turned for more doodles and sketchies!

ALSO apologies for all the watermarks! I really hate having to put them on there, but it helps protect my work.. in a perfect world I wouldn’t have to but it’s for the best <3

Halloween prompts year 2 day 10

Danny groaned, blearily raising his head from the nest of blankets and pillows he had made in his apartment. He had smelled something strange.

Something strong enough to wake him from his sleep. Danny got up and stumbled to the front door, cursing his luck for getting a fever so soon into his interdimentional road trip.

Peering out of his open doorway he saw a little kid shivering in the cold, badly hidden behind two trash cans in the mouth of an alley. Danny didn't think twice. In fact he didn't think at all. It wasn't uncommon for an Omega to smell a child who didn't have the scent of another Omega on them and immediately claim that child as thier own, and seeing as his home dimension had exclusively Omegas...let's just say there's a lot of drama in family court and a lot of laws pertaining to this.

So of course the next thing Danny knows is that the kid was bundled up inside his very soft and comfy makeshift nest before Danny passed out.

For the next week Danny had this mysterious fever and he acted like a parent on autopilot, barely conscious as he instinctually cared for the little boy. He made them food and cut them up into tiny bits to feed his baby and if it was handfoods like pizza rolls or sandwich triangles, Danny would hold him in his arms and rock his back and forth, humming softly as his child ate.

Eventually his heat ended (note that omegas from his world don't have heats, they don't have alphas and so they don't even know what a heat is) and Danny was very surprised he has a child in his house. But he and the baby are very emotionally attached to one another. When Danny asked what the little kids name was (and man this kid was little) the kid stared at him in the way little kids do before muttering the world "Clone" followed by what sounded suspiciously like a serial number.

Danny decided, nah. His kid now. Sucks to be the bioparent cause Danny doesn't wanna share.

Somewhere in the city, the bats were freaking out. They had raided a lab and discovered not only had one of them been cloned, but the clone had escaped and no one knew where it was. Cue panicked parental frenzy.

seeing a post that basically confirmed the obvious disparity in content made me think more about a scene i would have liked to see with gale and that i've been thinking about for a while now.

i always felt a bit sad that his condition is so often treated as a joke by the fandom and to a lesser extent by the game itself. i always thought that this is partially down to the fact that we don't truly get so see gale actively be in pain due to his condition, other than brief glimpses and hints:

we do hear the urgency in his voice when he explains when and why he needs an artefact and the relief in his voice when the protag chooses to help him.

we see it, too, when he is afflicted by the arcane hunger condition:

we get glimpses of it when he consumes an artefact:

he mentions it, too, in his dialogues, but it's very much downplayed by gale or phrased in such a way that is meant to overplay it with humour, or perhaps even to distance himself from it by using metaphors:

that is until we actually get to see it through his eyes, if only for the briefest of moments:

*Its teeth, its claws, it's unstoppable as it digs through and becomes part of you. And gods, it is ever-hungry...*

gale also has an idle animation where he--quite often--reaches up to touch the orb, perhaps because it flares with pain, like an old wound is wont to do:

from the last conversation we have with gale, and after catching all of these little moments of things he says or does with how the orb affects him, we learn that consuming the magic from artefacts no longer has any effect at all. the only solution that tara and he were able to find no longer works:

it would scare him and imbalance him, and it would finally destabilise the orb, make it more volatile.

but what happens in the game after that? the orb becoming volatile enough for the artefacts to no longer have an effect has no consequences at all: you are able to do the tiefling party, all quests in the underdark, the entirety of the grymforge, and, should you choose to do so, the entirety of the mountain pass and rosymorn monastery without an incident at all or any mention of the condition itself/any discomfort or fear it might cause.

there's no urgency here, no follow-up, to what the narrative set up... and then we meet deus ex elminster and the orb is stabilised, and the urgency that came before literally is handwaved out of existence.

what i would have liked instead to happen--or at least to bridge the gap between the artefacts no longer working and elminster stabilising it to be used on mystra's behalf--is the following:

i think it would have been nice to have a scene with gale where we do get to see--on a much smaller scale--him losing control over the orb, have the protag and the companions see what he is trying desperately to keep contained within himself, what gnaws at him, what continues to haunt him.

it could happen perhaps after a particular gruelling and intense fight--and there are enough of that in the underdark and at the mountain pass. it could have been a ! conversation, providing both friendship and romance content.

have the orb act up after expending so much energy to manipulate the weave to the fullest of his abilities, have gale manage to reign it in, but barely, show that it takes a lot of power and effort for him to do so.

that it hurts, with none of gale's metaphors to hide behind or jokes to play it off.

have the audience truly see the gravity of what he is going through.

Let's talk about Gloria's outfit. Can we talk about Gloria's outfit? I'm dying to talk about Gloria's outfit!!!

I have not seen nearly enough discourse on this first outfit we see Gloria in so I am picking up the slack.

Okay, first shot of Gloria. Character intro.

And do you know what my eyes instantly went to:

These. These goddamn, pink sneakers.

I tell you, I smiled like I'd just found an old friend when I spotted those, you know why? Because I GOT IT. In a single shot, I understood this character right to her core.

The rest of her outfit is very professional: jacket, blue shirt, hair painfully straightened to look "good". But these shoes...

That is her personality, right there. She loves pink, she wants to wear as much of it as possible. But all she feels she can get away with in her current job is this little detail.

And I GET IT. I too am a huge nerd. I obsess over weird shit that other people don't GET (see: this entire post about A SINGULAR OUTFIT in the Barbie movie). But, in order to operate in the Real World, I instead cover up most of that and instead wear only the subtlest of symbols so that I can feel true to myself without tipping anyone else off that I'm DIFFERENT.

But I'm not done. Because then we see her in her next scene without the jacket...and what is underneath?

Not a plain blue shirt.

This.

This thing. This weird, wonderful, mystifying shirt. Which, aside from the fact that it kinda looks like an American flag (I see you, costumer), is yet another indication of Gloria hiding her nerdy, obsessive personality.

This thing is deliberately designed so that when she's wearing her work jacket, you can't see the pink, the fun pattern, the oddness of the shirt.

See? Same day, same outfit, no sight of pink. Without the jacket, it becomes whimsical, odd, delightful. Where the hell did she even get this? Did she make it herself?

And then there's a sparkly belt! That was also hidden under the jacket in the earlier scene. LOOK AT THIS DORK!
