God's Great Compassion and Mercy
30 And many years didst thou forbear with them, and testifiedst against them by thy Spirit through thy prophets; but they would not give ear: and thou gavest them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.
31 Nevertheless for thy manifold mercies' sake, thou didst not make a full end of them nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God. — Nehemiah 9:30-31 | Literal Emphasis Translation (LET) The Literal Emphasis Bible is in the public domain. E PROPHET ZECHARIAH (ZAKHARIAH) THE SICKLE-SEER FROM AMONGST THE 12MINOR PROPHETS (520 BC)
Tumblr media
The Prophet Zachariah the Sickle-Seer the eleventh of the twelve Minor Prophets. He was descended from the tribe of Levi, and seems to have been a priest (Nehemiah 12:4,16). He was called to prophetic service at a young age and became, in the wondrous expression of church hymnology, “a spectator of supra-worldly visions.”
The Book of the Prophet Zachariah contains inspired details about the coming of the Messiah (Zach 6:12); about the last days of the Savior’s earthly life, about the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem on a young donkey (Zach 9:9); about the betrayal of the Lord for thirty pieces of silver and the purchase of the potter’s field with them (Zach 11:12-13); about the piercing of the Savior’s side (Zach 12:10); about the scattering of the apostles from the Garden of Gethsemane (Zach 13:7); about the eclipse of the sun at the time of the Crucifixion (Zach 14:6-7).
“Enlightened by dawnings all above,” the Prophet Zachariah, “saw the future as it were the present.” According to Tradition, this “most true God-proclaimer” lived to old age and was buried near Jerusalem, beside his illustrious contemporary and companion, the Prophet Haggai (December 16). The title “Sickle-Seer” given Zachariah comes from a vision in which he saw a sickle flying in the air, destroying thieves and perjurors (Zach 5:1-3).
The holy Prophet Zachariah died around 520 B.C. His tomb was discovered in 415 in a village near Eleutheropolis (Sozomen, Hist. Eccles. VI:32, IX:17). At the prophet’s feet was the body of a child dressed in royal accouterments. His holy relics were transferred to the church of Saint James the Brother of the Lord (October 23) in Constantinople.

1 PETER 4:1-11
1Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 3 For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles-when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. 4 In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you. 5 They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. 7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins." 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
MARK 12:28-37
28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, "Which is the first commandment of all?" 29 Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. 30 'And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these. 32 So the scribe said to Him, "Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He. 33 And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34 Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." But after that no one dared question Him. 35 Then Jesus answered and said, while He taught in the temple, "How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the Son of David? 36 For David himself said by the Holy Spirit:'The LORD said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool." ' 37 Therefore David himself calls Him 'Lord'; how is He then his Son? And the common people heard Him gladly.

Line Upon Line Lesson 008: God Never Forgets
Genesis 8:1 - Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.
‭Was God so focused on destroying the world with the flood, He forgot about Noah and all the animals on the ark?  What are we to make of this Bible verse?
Let’s read together Deuteronomy 4:31; Psalm 9:12; Isaiah 49:15; and Hebrews 6:10.
The Bible clearly states that God does not forget, whether it’s covenants He made or people. If anything, people are the ones who forget about God.  So, what does Genesis 8:1 mean?
Let’s read together Genesis 19:29; Genesis 30:22; Exodus 32:13; Job 14:13; and Psalm 132:1.
When God remembers someone, it is usually in the context of taking action and showing mercy to that individual.  God never forgot Noah.  God personally closed the ark (Genesis 7:16).  It was God’s power that protected the ark from a cataclysmic flood that destroyed virtually all of humanity and literally reshaped the earth.  In fact, God ended the flood and made the water slowly subside.  He wanted to make sure the ark and its inhabitants safely landed aground.
Let’s read together Nehemiah 1:5; Psalm 25:7; Isaiah 30:8; and Ephesians 2:4.
Genesis 8:1 is not an example of a wrathful God who forgot Noah.  Rather, it is a subtle reminder that love and mercy are a part of God’s character.

Nehemiah Griego, New Mexico inmate 87474, born 1998, incarceration intake at age 15, sentenced to life with possibility of parole
Murder, 5 counts (parents and 3 siblings)l Child Abuse
Nearly seven years after he killed his parents and three young siblings – shooting his mother while she slept, then turning the rifle on his brother and two sisters before lying in wait for hours to ambush his father after he returned from work – Nehemiah Griego was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
In a 16-page sentencing memorandum and decision, the Judge ruled that Griego, should serve three concurrent life sentences for child abuse resulting in the death of his three siblings, ages 2 to 9. He was also sentenced to seven years for killing each of his parents. Those sentences will run concurrent to one another but consecutive to the life sentences.
The state had requested the maximum penalty of 120 years.
Griego will get credit for the 2,476 days – six years and 285 days – he’s already spent behind bars.
In all, he will serve 30 years, before he could be released on parole.
The Judge’s decision comes a little more than two weeks after an all-day hearing in which Griego’s remaining family members and parents’ friends, law enforcement, defense attorneys and prosecutors argued over how much, if any, prison time he should serve. Griego also addressed the court and apologized to his three older sisters and thanked his aunts and uncles for standing by him.
In her ruling, the Judge laments that a facility does not exist in the state that would provide treatment for Griego while at the same time ensuring he could not escape and commit future acts of violence.
In an emailed statement, Griego’s public defender, referenced these statements.
“The judge here is saying that she would have been willing to give Nehemiah probation in a locked treatment facility, but that treatment doesn’t exist in New Mexico,” he wrote. “That forced her to place Nehemiah ‘with the most serious violent offenders’ in a prison system where he won’t receive the trauma-informed treatment that has proven to work for young offenders. And you’ll notice she called the choice to send him to prison ‘distressing.'”
Prosecutors, however, praised the sentence.
“Now that this defendant will no longer threaten the safety of our community, we should turn our attention to helping those directly affected by his tragedy,”  a spokesman for the District Attorney’s Office, wrote.
Almost free
Griego was nearly free on his 21st birthday in March 2018.
A Children’s Court judge initially found Griego, who was 15 when he killed his family, to be amenable to treatment and sentenced him as a juvenile after he pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder and three counts of intentional child abuse resulting in death.
However the Attorney General’s Office appealed that decision, and 11 days before Griego was set to be released from state custody the New Mexico Court of Appeals ordered the judge to hold another hearing and take into account the violent and grisly nature of his crimes.

THIS IS THE BEST PRESCRIPTION I HAVE EVER HAD FOR DEPRESSION OR ANXIETY AND IT HAS SAVED ME SO MANY TIMES!!
OVERCOMING DISCOURAGEMENT AND DEPRESSION by Lynette Hughes: Isaiah 61:3 gives us the prescription for discouragement and depression: "Put on the Garment of Praise for the spirit of heaviness." Whenever I feel emotionally exhausted, frustrated, discontented and want nothing better than to retreat from life, I begin to praise and worship God and express my gratitude for His goodness and all that He has done for me and through me, my seemingly hopeless predicament gives way to a glimmer of hope and peace. I have personally encountered and have intimate knowledge of the "spirit of heaviness" and truly believe that praise offered with a thankful heart is the most powerful weapon against this insidious enemy that infects the spirit and numbs the soul.
Scripture says that when David was greatly distressed and standing among the ruins of his life, when his friends had turned against him and wanted to stone him, he had no one to encourage him, so he “encouraged himself in the Lord his God.” [1 Sam. 30:6] Knowing what we know about David, I imagine he took his harp, retreated to a solitary place, and began to sing songs of praise to God. I can easily imagine David singing the lyrics of Psalm 34, “I will bless the Lord at ALL times.” No doubt he didn't feel like singing, but he chose to do it anyway. And he didn't sing a sad song bemoaning his situation. Instead he sang of the majesty and power of God. He sang of the faithful Deliverer who had in the past given him victory over the lion and the bear and gave him the courage to fight Goliath, and it gave him faith for what he was going through right then. [Psalm 13:4-6; 9:1-2] David changed his focus from his depressing circumstances and looked to the God of his salvation. And not only did the Lord increase his strength, courage and faith, He made him to be a blessing to many others. [1 Samuel 30:26]
Anyone can sing when the skies are azure blue, the air is fresh and not a cloud on the horizon, the flowers are blooming and releasing their sweet fragrance. It’s easy to praise God when everything is going well and all is right in our world. But it’s another thing when life feels chaotic and uncertain and we’re facing insurmountable storms of adversity in a dark night.
Like David, it doesn’t take long to realize that our walk with God is not all glorious as some like us to believe. Many of us who love the Lord are distressed with the challenge of living in an increasingly hostile world, a world plagued with one crisis after another, where men not only reject Christ but those of us who follow Him. Many believers are in a season of hardship, distressed by family estrangement and conflict. Many are trying to cope with the grief of losing a loved one. Many are faced with serious financial stressors, or the plummet of their physical health. Many are having to navigate life with a chronic illness or physical pain. Many are trying to deal with the emotional pain of loneliness and family estrangement. Many are fighting a dark, heavy cloud of depression. After struggling for long periods of time, we often begin wondering why God has not intervened. We begin questioning what we have done to deserve our unimaginable difficulties and whether God really cares.
Scripture clearly tells us depression has a spiritual component. Isaiah 61:3 calls it a ‘spirit.’ Depression is a demonic power of darkness that holds us captive in a dungeon of discouragement. If we don’t guard our heart, we can easily begin wallowing in self-pity and choke our faith, drain our hope, smother our love and fuel our anger. The bitter fruit of depression and self-pity unseats gratitude and places despair and defeat on the throne of our life. It fills our time with useless, faith destroying complaining and whining.
Nehemiah. 8:10 MEV tells us: “Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” All the strength we need for this life is found in the joy of the Lord. The joy is not in our circumstances, our joy is in knowing who God is, that He loves us with an everlasting love, that through Christ Jesus He provided us the opportunity to receive the gift of salvation and eternal life.
When discouragement slams you to the ground, get up and clothe yourself with a garment of praise and cast off the spirit of depression and despair [Is. 61:3]. It may be a difficult battle, but when you praise and thank God, you shift your focus from the problem to the problem solver. Praise is similar to a magnifying glass. As you give thanks and exalt God, you get the proper perspective of who God is and begin to see your problems with clarity. When God is magnified, He gets bigger and your problems will begin to shrink in importance, because no matter how great they seem, they’ll never be greater than God.
The garment of praise is like any other item of clothing; you must put it on for yourself! Like every provision God has given us, it must be put on by faith. And when the devil comes to you and holds up the garment of heaviness, don’t put your arm back in the sleeve; don’t pick it up and put it in your closet for another day. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Fill your mind with the truths of God’s Word and fill your mouth with praise [Psalm 71:8; 149:6] not negativity, fault finding, self-pity, and unthankfulness.
Put your Christian praise music on and sing and shout to the Lord! Lift up your hands and speak forth the praises of God by faith! Remember your blessings and name them one by one! If you are in the trial of your life, encourage yourself in the Lord! Allow God to fill you with His joy and in return you will receive the strength needed to overcome the chilling grip of fear, despair, and discouragement.
Psalm 34:13: “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.”

BOUNCE BACK POWER
BOUNCE-BACK POWER
Micah 7:8

They say tough times don’t last; only tough people, do! That’s very true as Psalm 30:5 puts it, weeping (tough and challenging times) endures only for a season and then it’s over. A bounce ball without air, is useless because it would have no bounce at all.
People’s reaction to tough seasons differs. Some bounce back easily from the brink of a breakdown or trauma, some rebound partially, while others just give in and give up with no fight left in them.
God created us with in-built bounce-back power to cope and overcome every situation, but we must rely on God completely because we know He’s on our side and every trial that happen in our lives are for our good and His glory according to Joshua 1:9. They say the only way up is down! The harder you fall, the higher you bounce back!
The enemy is always looking for ways to pull us down according to 1 Peter 5:8-9, prowling around and looking for whom to destroy, pull-down and keep down; hoping that believers will be terrified by hardship and persecutions, to rise from where they fall.
But bounce back we must! We have no option but to heave ourselves back up with the word of life and encouragement in the scriptures.
When we fall, which would happen at some point, we must, according to Proverbs 24:16, rise again with God’s help. So, whoever is rejoicing over our calamities, afflictions, or breakdown better beware because our God wouldn’t leave us down, by His grace and power we will always bounce back.
To rejoice over the fall or miseries of any man shows a spiteful evil spirit.
We may know one Christian who became unfaithful and fell into sin, with unbelieving friends, rejoicing over their situation and publicity condemning them for being humans able to make mistakes, but some of these people bounced back from their fall, while those jesting at their affliction continued in wickedness.
A good ball of any kind is known by its bounce, when it remains where it’s thrown, it means it no longer has air in it to bounce.
James 1:2-3 says we should count it all joy, which is translated to temptation, affliction, persecution, or trial of any kind, that will happen several times in a lifetime and designed by God to help us reach maturity and completion, lacking nothing.
The strength and character we exhibit as believers come only from the Lord as said in Nehemiah 8:10, showing Himself strong to help and defend us when we get knocked down.
Psalm 145:14 says the Lord uphold all that fall, the falling, or those who are not able to remain on their feet and the weak.
The Lord is our prop, nobody falls through their weakness alone if they rely on God, the strongest foe cannot shake them according to Psalm 18:18.
Both the enemy and people will try to prevent us from bouncing back in the day of calamity, they will take advantage of our vulnerability and attack, but because the Lord is our stay, we can’t be overthrown or kept down.
An athlete who remains down from an opponent’s strike will simply be declared the loser because they didn’t bounce back to carry on.
Hebrews 12:2-3 says we must focus on Jesus, so that we don’t become tired and give up when we’re knocked down. You can bounce back from anything with the help of God.
PRAYER: My hope and trust are in you Lord for when I am weak, I can declare that I am strong to bounce back from affliction in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Shalom

Nehemiah Dedicates the Wall
27 Now at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought out the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings and singing, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps. 28 And the sons of the singers gathered together from the countryside around Jerusalem, from the villages of the Netophathites, 29 from the house of Gilgal, and from the fields of Geba and Azmaveth; for the singers had built themselves villages all around Jerusalem. 30 Then the priests and Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, the gates, and the wall.
31 So I brought the leaders of Judah up on the wall, and appointed two large thanksgiving choirs. One went to the right hand on the wall toward the Refuse Gate. 32 After them went Hoshaiah and half of the leaders of Judah, 33 and Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam, 34 Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, Jeremiah, 35 and some of the priests’ sons with trumpets—Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph, 36 and his brethren, Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God. And Ezra the scribe went before them. 37 By the Fountain Gate, in front of them, they went up the stairs of the City of David, on the stairway of the wall, beyond the house of David, as far as the Water Gate eastward.
38 The other thanksgiving choir went the opposite way, and I was behind them with half of the people on the wall, going past the Tower of the Ovens as far as the Broad Wall, 39 and above the Gate of Ephraim, above the Old Gate, above the Fish Gate, the Tower of Hananel, the Tower of the Hundred, as far as the Sheep Gate; and they stopped by the Gate of the Prison.
40 So the two thanksgiving choirs stood in the house of God, likewise I and the half of the rulers with me; 41 and the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Minjamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets; 42 also Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. The singers sang loudly with Jezrahiah the director.
43 Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off.
Temple Responsibilities
44 And at the same time some were appointed over the rooms of the storehouse for the offerings, the firstfruits, and the tithes, to gather into them from the fields of the cities the portions specified by the Law for the priests and Levites; for Judah rejoiced over the priests and Levites who ministered. 45 Both the singers and the gatekeepers kept the charge of their God and the charge of the purification, according to the command of David and Solomon his son. 46 For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God. 47 In the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah all Israel gave the portions for the singers and the gatekeepers, a portion for each day. They also consecrated holy things for the Levites, and the Levites consecrated them for the children of Aaron. — Nehemiah 12:27-47 | New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible; New King James Version®. Matthew 16:15 [Jesus] said to [his disciples], “But who do you say that I am?”
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Nehemiah 9:17 You are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love.
Luke 3:16 John answered and said to them all, "As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."
Proverbs 16:7 When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Song of Solomon 2:4 He has brought me to His banquet hall, and His banner over me is love.
May you set a guard on your mouth and give much thought to your speech if you are prone to rash statements, for though you may change your mind, you may not break your word. Numbers 30
May you bring to the Lord your offering of praise and thanksgiving for His saving and keeping power as you return from spiritual battles in the victory of the overcomer. Numbers 31
May you be blessed with knowing your weaknesses, so that you can turn to God and receive from Him the strength of His Word, which is your sword, and stand in the faith of that Word, which is your shield, lest you focus on your strengths and, believing them sufficient, fall before the enemy of your soul because the arm of flesh failed you. Luke 4
May you daily walk in the power of the Spirit at the place of your work and ministry, as you resist the devices of the enemy which tempt, test, and try you, but are made powerless as you stand on the Word of God. Luke 4
May you understand that your spiritual battles, though fiercely fought in the heart and often strongly contested in the flesh, are fought for others through your service and ministry, for you have received all spiritual blessing in heavenly places and are sealed in Christ by the Holy Spirit of promise. Luke 4, Ephesians 1
May you not test the Father by inappropriate confidence in His protection, but walk circumspectly in obedience to Him. Luke 4
Speak with confidence, My child, when you call on My Name in prayer and conversation with Me. When you speak to Me of your needs, of your desires, when you offer praise and when worship wells up from your heart to honor Me, do not be hesitant or fearful, for I know every word on your tongue and every intent in your heart. Let the expression of My love for you, that I demonstrated at Calvary, be a supporting bulwark when you find yourself pausing, feeling doubtful or uncertain. Let the knowledge of My boundless love wash away fear and bring a depth of assurance to your utterance that will cause the angels, who ceaselessly worship within sight of Me, to pause in wonder at the fervency of your expression of joy. They desire to glimpse even a part of what could cause such devotion from one such as you who has never seen Me. Speak with assurance, My love, when you name My Name before men in witness and testimony during conversation and discussion. When you speak to them of My acts and of My ways, when you describe how I have touched your heart and changed your life, and when you seek to express the devotion you feel, do not be cautious or reticent, for you are speaking truth from your heart and facts from your life, which cannot be changed by the opinions or misunderstandings of others. Know that some, those whom I am drawing, will wonder and desire to know better what can cause such heartfelt love and total devotion to Someone Who has never been seen. As the Father has shone in your heart, giving the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ, so shine that light, which is the wonder of heaven and the life of men, before all who cross paths with you.
May you realize that as you stand in the gap for others, the attacks of the enemy may bruise your heel, causing pain and making your walk a struggle, but the Lord will prevail and it will be to the breaking of the head of the enemy of God. Luke 4, Genesis 3
May you resist the enemy in the power of the truth of the Word of God, causing him to flee, but know that though he departs for a season, you will battle him again, until the Lord returns. Luke 4
May your soul thirst for God and cause you to earnestly seek Him. Psalm 63
May your lips glorify the Lord and your hands lift in His name as you praise God as long as you live for His love is better than life and your soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods since you have seen Him in the sanctuary and beheld His power and glory. Psalm 63
May you remember God as you lie on your bed, thinking of Him through the watches of the night. Psalm 63
May your soul cling to the Lord for He is your help and His right hand upholds you, therefore you will sing in the shadow of His wings. Psalm 63
May the Lord be delighted in you, as He is in those whose ways are blameless. Proverbs 11:20
May you be among those who go free as the righteous are, and not among the wicked who will not go unpunished. Proverbs 11:21

Tribal Mentions and Omissions
There are several places in scripture that list the tribes of Israel. The names of the tribes included and excluded have varied over time, and for various reasons.
The twelve tribes of Israel came from the twelve sons of Israel—Israel being the name that the Father gave Jacob [Genesis 32:28]. Jacob’s twelve sons were Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin [Genesis 35:23–26; Exodus 1:1–4; I Chronicles 2:1–2]. The progeny of those twelve sons comprised the twelve tribes of Israel, and were the ones who initially went down into Egypt to live for four hundred years[Exodus 12:20].
After the exodus and at the end of the 40 year wilderness journey when Moses was about to die, while pronouncing blessing on the people, Moses omitted the tribe of Simeon [Deuteronomy 33] The reason for this omission likely originated from the time when Jacob was blessing his sons, where he curses Simeon and Levi for their anger and cruelty saying "Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel."[Genesis 49:5-7] This curse pronounced alludes to the the time when Simeon and Levi took revenge on the men of Shechem after the rape of their sister Dinah[Genesis 34:24–30]. After the horrific event, Jacob and his family had to relocate.
At the time of Israel's second census conducted by Moses and Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, the tribe of Simeon was the smallest and weakest of all the tribes that came out of Egypt, only 22,200 men aged 20 years or more [Numbers 26:14]. Consequently, this was fulfilled when Simeon’s descendants were absorbed into the territory of Judah [Joshua 19:1-9] and when Levi’s descendants were dispersed throughout the land, living in 48 towns and the surrounding pasture-lands.
In the time of Joshua, when Israel inherited and possessed the Promised Land, Levi’s descendants did not receive a territory for themselves [Joshua 13:14]. Instead, they received the priesthood and took care of the tabernacle, because in a time of rebellion and idolatry, they were faithful to YAHWEH[Exodus 32:26]. This was confirmed when "the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel."[Numbers 18:20]
The Levites were however given several cities scattered throughout the land, often designated as 'cities of refuge'[Numbers 35:15]. To fill out the twelve allotments, Joseph’s tribe was divided in two—as Jacob had adopted Joseph’s two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, essentially giving Joseph a double portion for his faithfulness in saving the family from famine [Genesis 47:11–12], and receiving the blessing that Rueben lost because of sleeping with his father Jacob's concubine[Genesis 49:4]. In this arrangement, the tribes given territory in the Promised Land were Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh. The scriptures often refer to the tribe of Ephraim as the tribe of Joseph [Numbers 1:32–33]. When they settled the promised land, half of Manassah went over and stayed on the west of the Jordan and half remained on the east. The tribes of Gad and Rueben also remained on the east side of Jordan.
The first nine chapters of Chronicles describe the genealogical history of the nation of Israel, starting from Adam to the time it was recorded. The genealogical record of tribes of Israel omitted the names of the tribes of Zebulun and Dan [I Chronicles 4-8]. The context was that the books of Chronicles were written after the Babylonian exile sometime between 450 and 425 B.C., and most likely written by Ezra the priest the scribe, who is also believed to have written the book of Nehemiah. The Assyrians had annexed the ten northern tribes (kingdom of Israel) and later the Babylonians annexed and sent the southern tribes of Judah and Benjamin (kingdom of Judah) into exile. Most likely the reason why these two tribes were not mentioned was there were not many members represented of the tribes at the time Ezra was recording the genealogies, as Zebulun and Dan may have suffered the most casualties and further decimated by forced exile at the hands of the Assyrians, as these were the northernmost tribes. This was made worse by the fact that the Assyrians not only relocated these tribes to other parts of their empire but also brought in transplants to their tribal lands to replace them. These people transplanted to Israel from other lands, later became known as Samaritans.
Revelation 7:4–8 lists the 144,000 “sealed” or protected servants of YAH, who will comprise 12,000 individuals from each of the twelve tribes of Israel: Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin. Notice that the tribe of Dan is not listed; in its place is Manasseh, which is one of the two tribes that came from Joseph. The exclusion of Dan and the inclusion of Levi most likely is a reflection of the fact that the tribe of Levi will no longer have a special status as the Levitical priests, but will receive an inheritance as the other tribes. This is consistent with the change in priesthood from the Levitical order to the Melchesidec order of which Jesus and the saints belong[Hebrews 7:5-12], and the work accomplished by Jesus the Anointed, who "wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."[Revelation 5:9-10]

YOUR PLACE OR STAND IN GOD
1 SO THEN, SINCE CHRIST SUFFERED PHYSICAL PAIN, YOU MUST ARM YOURSELVES WITH THE SAME ATTITUDE HE HAD, AND BE READY TO SUFFER, TOO. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.
2 YOU WON'T SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIVES CHASING YOUR OWN DESIRES, BUT YOU WILL BE ANXIOUS TO DO THE WILL OF GOD."
1 Peter 4:1,2 (NLT)
Tumblr media
• Whoever wants to walk with God should not do it because of material benefits.
- Your stand or uprightness in God is of paramount importance than any material benefit. Nothing can be compared to it!
- Your stand in God, your place in Him, or steadfastness in Him, could also be known as your relationship and communion with Him. And It cannot be bought with money.
THUS, you should value it than any other thing in the world.
- What should be treasured or valued mostly is, your stand in God, or your uprightness, or your being LOYAL to Him.
- A believer who is Wise would not play with this, his or her upright standing in God. This is also known as having a communion or fellowship with God.
- It is the treasure of inestimable value! Your joy and fulfilment are found in it. Do not let it slip away from you, guard it jealously.
• Keeping your stand in God, your relationship, fellowship or communion, with Him.
I. Obedience is a major key in having a long lasting, enduring relationship and communion, with God.
- When a believer started disobeying God's Word, the instructions specifically given him or her; such has started breaking the chord of agreement that binds him or her with God.
- It is obedience that makes your stand in God, the Fellowshipping with Him, strong and intact!
II. Sacrifice. Willingness to deny yourself of whatever you had, in order to please Him, do His Will, or obey His instructions, and strengthened your stand in Him; is equally important.
- If you cannot make SACRIFICES, pay the necessary prices, you cannot have a strong stand with Him—a strong relationship and fellowship with Him.
- The self should be relegated in your life, If a quality communion or fellowship would be built or established with God!
III. Separation. Having time with God.
- Many find it difficult to take time out to stay with God and seek His face.
- If you did not have a quality time with God; to stay in His presence and seek His face, He may equally not have the time for you (2 Timothy 2:11,12).
- God delights in our fellowship; when you chose to forgo all other things, in order to camp around Him, and have communion or fellowship with Him (Luke 5:16).
- Whatever you are looking for could only be gotten in His presence:
"YOU WILL SHOW ME THE PATH OF LIFE; IN YOUR PRESENCE IS FULLNESS OF JOY; AT Your right hand are PLEASURES FOREVERMORE" (Psalm 16:11 NKJV).
- Staying in His presence, having time with Him, could mean taking a number of hours, or days off, in a solitary place, to seek His face and fellowship with Him (Mark 1:35; Luke 4:42).
IV. Giving. Seed sowing.
- Your stand in God, that is, your fellowship or communion, is strengthened by your acts of Giving.
- Giving granted you an audience before God. If doors were shut against you, your ministry, career, or whatever; check your Giving.
- Giving is a means of deliverance! It attracts God's attention, and provokes His blessings over your life (1 Kings 3:3-5).
V. Fasting and prayer. To have a good stand-in-God, you would have to pay attention to fasting.
a. Fasting subdues the flesh and makes your spirit ascended or arisen.
b. Fasting is a strong weapon in the hands of the Champions, and a way to seek and get God's attention (Nehemiah 1:4; Esther 4:16; Daniel 9:1-3; 2 Corinthians 11:27).
- If things are not working, endeavour to go to God with fasting to inquire. But do observe the fast in the acceptable Way (Isaiah 58:6-11; Matthew 6:16-18).
- There are different categories of fastings:
a. There is a fasting you observed, which you had to break with meals in the evening (Acts 10:30; 14:23).
b. There is another one that you abstain from food but you take fruit juice for little energy and strength; and that could be for a number of days (Daniel 10:2,3).
c. There is one of total abstinence from food, but taking water only:
"AND WHEN HE [Jesus] HAD FASTED FORTY DAYS AND FORTY NIGHTS, AFTERWARDS He was hungry" (Matthew 4:2 NKJV).
[We do not have the record that Jesus did not drink water during His forty days fasting.]
d. Then total fasting of abstinence of food and drink. But it has to be with God's leading:
"SO HE [Moses] WAS THERE WITH THE LORD FORTY DAYS AND FORTY NIGHTS; HE NEITHER ATE BREAD NOR DRANK WATER. AND He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS" (Exodus 34:28 NKJV).
• God demands for Sacrifice, Prices to be paid, for certain things, and for deeper intimacy with Him (Mark 9:29).
- If you wanted to be more deeper in God, you cannot do it without consecrations; reading, studying, and pondering on the Word of God, and prayers, added with fastings. Deep calls for the DEEP.
- Thus, dare to pay the price, that you may rise and be strong in God! Do what no one has done before, and get the results which no one has gotten before.
- The truth is, there is no cheap success in life and in God's Kingdom.
- What could make you get a strong backing of God is, the practicing of the Principles that are mentioned in this piece.
- A good stand or uprightness in God would earn you both spiritual and physical Blessingsthe physical success and attainments you may have been craving for. Albeit, prices would be required to be paid.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!

The Sure,Sealed Covenant with Present-Day  Christlike Levites
Numbers 8:14-15; Nehemiah 9:38; 13:29-30; 2 Timothy 2:19-22   Today we are looking at the Levites, and we compare them to the Christlike Levites of today, we as Christians. We are the people who remain committed and consecrated to the Lord. And we want to learn what it entails to be cleansed and cleaving to the Lord. We are sealed with a covenant as present-day consecrated and committed Levites.…
