To Conservatives who play apologetics for Donald Trump here is a list of people and things he doesn’t respect:
Our troops
Our veterans
Liberals
Conservatives who don’t make conservatism about him
NATO
The international community
Immigrants
Bureaucrats and civil servants
Rule of law and fair courts
Budget austerity and economic stability
YOU
While I absolutely and whole heartedly disagree with Biden on many, many, issues, it is for the health of our party, our international reputation, and of the country that conservatives do not back Donald Trump.

Just a week into the US election year of 2024, and I'm already seeing some Takes™ on my dash.
Please. No.
I know you hate your options, guys, but third party will not win. They simply won't, not in 2024, no matter how much you wish they would. Building that kind of voting power takes time, and with the current voting-suppression systems and gerrymandering in place, you're just not there yet.
And you know the people who are tempted to try it anyway are the people on the left and some lost-looking centrists. And you know that taking those votes away from the Democrats while the people on the right turn up to vote en-mass as they always do means that Trump will win.
I cannot overstate how much you can't let that happen. You can't.
You can feel betrayed and be frustrated with the Biden government all you like, but you can't hand that position of power back to Trump and the conservatives. People will suffer. People will die. Within your own country and globally.
If you seriously think Trump in power will mean less genocide and fascism in the world, I'm sorry, but you're straight up delusional.
Please think really hard about what narratives you're buying into, supporting and spreading this year. Not immune to propaganda etc. People who try to cloud your judgment by appealing to your anger and sense of helplessness, telling you not to vote, or vote third party may genuinely believe what say - or they're manipulating you into throwing your vote away. Either way, the end result is the same.
And frankly - the choice is yours, but if you intend to chase the third party pipedream right now and thereby allowing a fascist government to take over and dictate global politics for the next four years at least (provided their next insurrection isn't successful, leaving them in power indefinitely...)
Then kindly unfollow me. Right now.
I have zero patience for the leftist "perfect or nothing" mindset when the alternative is outright open and proud fascism. No fucking dithering. You have one job this year. You can either vote for the lesser evil like a fucking grownup and then work within the system for further change, or get right out of my face.
That's all.

I love living in the conservative chamberpot of Canada where the cons here constantly white Ukrainian Canadian history to dismiss racism and make out Ukrainians as what all prairie folk should be, constantly use our ancestors’ hardships as part of their bootstraps narrative, compare everything to the Holodomor and the soviet oppression of Ukrainians, and constantly make themselves out as the party for us, but then when the war actually breaks out and we’re looking to protect our families and homeland of our people, so many of those same conservatives stood for russia and made Ukrainians into the next cog of the Q anon plot

Why am I seeing so many posts on here encouraging young USAmerican leftists not to vote. Most of which boil down to "The best way to tell the government what you want is to not vote!!"

Loooove how white women are blamed for both Biden and Trump having gotten into office from either side, respectively.
I've heard from left-wing youtubers that it was the rich privileged white women basically just following what their husbands/daddys said, prioritizing their wealth and race above all else, that went MAGA.
And now after Title IX I'm seeing right wing youtubers say it's the "white, overly pampered, suburban women" who keep voting for Democrats despite knowing what they do for women's rights.
Like those aren't necessarily wrong critiques! Those women exist! For a myriad of reasons. But why are they the only demographic singled out? (For context, I am indeed a white woman, but not American). How are ~we~ responsible for both outcomes? While seemingly being purposefully disadvantaged by either "side"?

I don’t know how to properly express how I fucking hate how some folks talk about voting as this end all be all while also acknowledging that yeah, I am voting in every election.
I will engage with the system but I don’t trust it for a fucking second and it’s appalling that folks do.
So sure, vote, but maybe also form a union, strike, protest, riot, contribute to bail funds, take part in mutual aid, support strikers protesters and rioters, support counter protests, write to your representatives, read something off the anarchist library website, go to your local library, volunteer, be outspoken, call out shit, make graffiti, cover up fashie graffiti, find your local food banks and help out, educate folks about propaganda and fascism, play punk and commie music, anything
I know folks can do everything, but if voting is your end all be all political engagement... fuck
voting is harm reduction at best

also in moving to nyc it's the first time my life that the majority of my jewish community hasn't been chabad or reform. (while my shul growing up was chabad and my religious education was chabad, my parents are Conservative/Conservadox -- again, denominationally not politically -- and my house was a Conservative Jewish™ household). this is the first time i'm plugged into Conservative Judaism™ as an institution instead of just a vague middle ground as "Jews who practice traditional Judaism but aren't orthodox"
like, my friends are Conservative Jewish educators and youth outreach coordinators, children of Conservative Rabbis, people who've worked within this institution for years trying to essentially safe it from itself as it hemorrhages members.
it's really fascinating to see how lots of people my age are into Conservative Judaism conceptually but the mantle has not really been passed down to us and it's alienating us as a result

I have a feeling we will end up having a general election by Christmas tbh. I doubt liz is gonna hold on until the end of the week let alone another year or two. Regardless of whether the tories think she should stay or not - she genuinely looked unwell yesterday?
And if they change PM again, surely they’ll do the decent thing and also call an election.
