M/N was sitting in the meeting room, right across from Niragi who kept staring at him. Hatter and Aguni were discussing about something that included the beach and the cards and some other stuff that M/N didn't pay attention to. Because even though M/Ns eyes were going from Hatter to Aguni to back at Hatter as they talked to each other, his whole focus was on Niragi staring right at him, with a smirk plastered on his face. Him staring at M/N kinda excited him, but at the same time he got goosebumps from Niragis piercing glare. Once Hatter and Aguni were done talking, Hatter ended the meeting and people started walking out. M/N had no other option than to stare back at Niragi. As M/N turned his head to look at him, he could see Niragis growing smirk. M/N kept staring at Niragi for a while, before Niragi got up from the chair and saw that the only ones remaining in the room were him and M/N. Niragi walked toward the door and gave M/N one last glare before walking out. M/N stayed in his seat for a while, smiling to himself, because right before Niragi left, M/N could see a slight bulge in Niragis pants. M/N stayed sat on the chair, before getting up and walking out too, leaving the meeting room empty.

Could I request for Alice in borderland with these characters: Banda, Chishiya, Niragi, Oki yaba and kyuma
How would they be with a boyfriend/husband that acts like dazai osamu?
Also could this take place in their "last" games?
Aka
Chishiya, Banda and Aki Yaba in Jack of hearts
Niragi and Kyuma in the king of clubs game (let's pretend there was 6 players on each team instead of 5, also let's pretend when you write kyumas that his team won instead of arisus🥰)

𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐲𝐚:
• Honestly to him it was a 50/50 feeling about you joining the game with him, the poor man was gonna have a heart attack if the game was a single winner game but luckily for him it wasn’t!!! So now he feels a lot more relief, especially since he’s got you as his partner.
• Chishiya sat you down like disobedient dog cause he knew you’d mess around in some way, he knows you to well. It was quite frightening to the other players on how quickly your attitude changed after Chishiya’s lecture. He doesn’t want to worry about you picking the wrong answer on purpose.
• Chishiya knows your super irresponsible but your also very smart so Chishiya trust you, but not with yourself. He immediately side-eyes you the moment you make a suicide joke, and tells you to take this seriously. You immediately tell him he’s a kill joy which has him staring at you strangely.
• Most of the game was just the two of you watching the other players and trying to investigate who the Jack player was, along with watching others die in the game. Though an hour into the game you already had your suspicions about who the Jack player was, which Chishiya decided to listen to since it was something he trusted you with.
• The two of you are mostly seen at the cafeteria table eating cookies together and talking with each other, while the two of you where offered to join this pretty lady’s group the both of you where quick to deny it. Why rely on others when you two have each other?
• When staying overnight in the game, you definitely had Chishiya cuddling in the same bed as you, he was quite defensive about it but after your annoying pleads he let you cuddle your face into his back while the both of you slept. It’s been a while since you two have gotten to sleep so comfortably, especially since no one could get out of their way to kill you.
• Once the game ended you two walked out hand in hand like a regular couple would, letting the last two players torment the Jack player till he died, a satisfied grin appeared on your face watching the airship explode in the sky, Chishiya definitely gave you a concerned stare before shrugging and holding your hand tighter as you two continued onto your next game. ____________
𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚:
• You and Banda were the last players to enter together, though most of the players already assumed you two were close since you walked in with each other with hands together.
• When a random dude wanted to join the two of you, the both of you gave each other a look before allowing him to join you. Banda has to keep an eye out on the guy who so boldly tried crowding you two!
• Banda doesn’t really care how you behave in the game at all, You could be silly and goofy or just act cold and sadistic it doesn’t affect him since he’s not worried about you two dying.
• After Banda found out that Yaba and Momoka were fucking in the prison cell he probably asked you if you wanted to do the same after naming your suit shape for that round. Yaba and Momoka weren’t the only players annoying other players and having fun that night.
• Banda has his arm around your waist 24/7 throughout the game, He isn’t ashamed about P.D.A. but he also doesn’t want to be taken lightly by other players, he’s gotten at least three people to betray their partners.
• During the nights you two slept the most comfortably, the two of you have your arms wrapped around each other in a death grip, refusing to let the other go. You unfortunately end up falling off the bed even though you guys are gripping onto each other for dear life
• At the end of the game, it turned out to be Enji who was the Jack in the game! While some other player left, Banda and Aki decided to have some fun trying to get information out about the boy, two bad for both of you he didn’t last very long.
___________
𝐀𝐤𝐢:
• He found it a bit irritating how you weren’t taking the game seriously, hell you weren’t even listening to the rules at all! He probably criticizes you for it and tells you to pay better attention or you’ll end up dying if you continue to play games like that. I mean he isn’t gonna be in every game you play, so how are you gonna survive the other ones if you don't pay attention?
• Aki has a firm grip on you 24/7 throughout the entire game, like a dog on a leash. You expect your fate though because your hubby was hot as hell looking upset with you, after all your favorite hobby was to annoy the living hell out of him.
• You’ve probably made a suicidal joke in front of other players, making it sound like a goal/ dream of yours to happen. All the other players think of you as insane and avoid you at every chance they get. Aki said he was embarrassed by you, yet still followed you around the game area like a guard dog.
• The two of you are surprisingly always found together in the kitchen, mostly because of you. You tend to take a whole basket of snacks with you around the place to eat during the entire game, too bad none of the other players seemed to have a huge appetite.
• Aki does NOT welcome other players to join your group, if anyone asks they’d probably get flipped off but if any of them ask if you could read their suit Aki intentionally gives them the wrong answer. You find it a bit mean but Aki just tells you it’s for your own sake and brushes it off.
• Sleeping together at night is one of the most fun times in your opinion! You got your hubby to agree to let you sleep on top of him, which got you face first into his chest and his arms wrapping around you to keep you from falling. Before Aki could go to sleep you blurted out who you thought the Jack was before going back to sleep and Aki stayed awake the whole night figuring out why that answer made so much sense. Why are you so smart yet so fucking stupid!?!?
• At the end of the game when it turned out that Enji was the Jack player, you had the most cheeky grin and poked Aki with a bunch of ‘I told you so’ Aki wasn’t very pleased about it but what the hell. You stayed at the game area with him until he had fun torturing Enji till he gave up and died. Aki said he was no fun, barely slipping out any information about the Borderland world which you giggled about!
___________
𝐊𝐲𝐮𝐦𝐚:
• You and the entire band were just standing there while Kyuma was trying to set up the rules on your guy's new game, with all of you voting, bickering, and suggesting ideas till you all settled on the game rules and let the games begin.
• Since you guys were part of the game-making rules you just had to beat other players playing your game, you weren’t complaining one bit, especially when Kyuma decided to go nude during the entire game! A+ view for you to be honest, definitely made sexual comments to Kyuma which made him laugh or stare at you amused while your other teammates were gagging.
• When the first players joined you were more than thrilled to see them, honestly you had a 50/50 chance of winning and that had your blood pumping after staying in this world. The other 6 contestants were super serious about it which had you amused a bit, also seeing another ’couple’ in the game! To bad it was your team or theirs!
• After being broken into your teams, the 6 of you split your points evenly, You and Uta were assigned to guard your bases together while the other four men were going around grabbing points for your team. There wasn’t much for you and Uta to do other then say random shit to each other.
• You and Uta looked at each other worried at the fact the other team was leading in by 5000 points, that’s where all 6 of you had a small meeting where they all agreed to risk their lives to touch the base pole, While you were the first to quickly volunteer you were also the first one to be shut down by Kyuma who disagreed, saying it was yours and Uta job to protect the base.
• After the whole base situation three of your members came in with 10,000 points! So the 6 of you decide to go into pairs of 2, agreeing to go find items and other players to gain points since they probably wouldn’t have the guts to go to your base. Which was right! Good for you cause the rest of the game was you getting to hold Kyuma's hand and find items together like a lovely couple!
• The moment your team was 30,000 points ahead for the other players you all just hung out at the base, with you all standing around bored. However, after 20 minutes, you convinced Kyuma to lie down with you on the floor, just waiting for the next hour for the game to finish off.
• When 10 minutes of the game were remaining, you and Kyuma decided to go walking around the harbor until you two were met by the large ocean and the beautiful sunlight hitting it. While you sat down on the edge of the harbor, you gushed to Kyuma about how pretty the ocean was and how beautiful it would be to commit suicide here. Kyuma was quick to place his hand over your head and smack it down, telling you not to say such things before you two heard footsteps from behind you.
• The two of you watched Arius bow his head to Kyuma, thanking him for the game and his kind words earlier, that he couldn’t stop thinking about it. The boy kept on ranting till there was a minute left in the game before asking for one last handshake him Kyuma. You told Kyuma to hold your hand while he gave the opponent one last handshake, it was obvious Aruis lost five hundred points but only looked at with a smile before thanking Kyuma one last time and dying as the time ran out.
• Kyuma looked at the dead body upset, saying that guy was good opponent. You let out a small laugh at Kyuma's comment before kissing his hand and squeezing it tightly as the game officially finished
“You did a good job anyways Kyuma, I plan on living as long as you do well, alright?”
________
𝐍𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢:
(PM Dazai used for Niragi part)
• You and Niragi were both the very first people to enter the King of Clubs game, wrapping the device around your wrist so confidently. The both of you didn’t seem to fear death one bit! One didn’t care and was willing to risk everything, while the other was a Suicidal manic who desired death themselves.
• Arisu and his friends were not amused to see the both of you standing there waiting for the game to start, yet all unhappily joined the game to hopefully get back home. Too bad for them you guys didn’t care much about that, of course getting back home would be important, but not as fun as enjoying a game.
• Niragi scowled down at the ass-naked man named Kyuma explaining the rules to the six of you, he especially didn’t like the way he touched you to explain the rule system. He was barking like a dog at Kyuma which you gladly made fun of him for.
• Arisu said that it would be uneven to just have one person gaurd the base so he had Kodai and Usaig gaurding. You and Niragi obviously teamed up together, going through multiple creates and tagging other players through your searches. When the two of you came back to the base, you both were a bit surprised that your teammates were less hostile to you.
• After the other teams pulled the stunt with your guy's base. You groaned at the inconveniencing position the other team left you all. Niragi wasn’t happy about it either, he was quick to make fun of Kodai for failing to keep the base safe while your teammates told him to leave Kodai alone.
• After like an hour of searching and your team’s failed attempt to get all your points back to win back from the other team (or at least have the same advantage) you and Niragi wandered and mopped around for a while, it didn’t help that Niragi started coughing up blood now. You had to hand him your coat to use as a napkin which you weren’t very happy about.
• Once there was an hour left into the game and your team still wasn’t gaining any points, Niragi just said ‘Fuck it’ and started pulling on your shirt, telling you to have sex with him one last time before the both of you die didn’t in this stupid game. Niragi didn’t care if you wanted to open up a create to do it or just fuck on the floor but you better decide quickly cause this man is already trying to take his pants off along with your shirt.
• The two of you were just lying against each other after your session, quietly glancing at the timer that said 5 minutes left and your team still has no advantage. Surprisingly Niragi had his arms wrapped around you very tightly as he kissed your forehead a few times and mumbled out some ‘love you’s here and there while you wait for the timer to hit zero. Suddenly an announcement was made about your team gaining 500 more points and getting a higher score an the opponent's team.
• The two of you stared at the screen with wide eyes, and both of you said ‘Holy shit’ in unison before you two slowly looked at each other in disbelief. That was the first time in a while Niragi threw his hands around you, pulling you into a death hug, before immediately stopping. You made sure to make fun of him when you two were walking out of the game arena. He really loves hates you.

Next to Me - Ch. 3
Ch. 1, Ch. 2, Ch. 4
Tumblr media
Words: 977
25th of December, 2022
~~~~~
You feel Niragi’s back against yours, his shoulder blades dig into you, but you don’t care, your blood is pumping.
You two are "unfortunately" surrounded. Students from another school had decided to challenge the two "beasts." You forget who started the fight, but you know who's gonna end it.
Niragi seems to be just as excited.
"HAH- Ah!"
"Niragi?"
Hearing him cut off, you look for a second and he’s already back in the fight. You turn back to your opponent and are met with his fist.
~~~
"-as the others," A deep voice says.
"You said he fought the tagger." Another voice points out.
Whatever they are talking about is put on pause as they notice you waking up.
"You're up earlier than we thought."
Blinking away the blurriness, you are greeted by… a guy in beach shorts. He has a colorful robe and sunglasses as well. Overall, a strange thing to wake up to.
Not far off, you recognize Buzz-Cut from the game.
"Where am I?"
That seems to make the Beach Goer happy. Arms stretched out, he steps back as if to give a speech.
"Welcome to The Beach," He says grinning.
You stare at him, bewildered.
He continues, "I am Hatter and the one who brought you here is Aguni."
You look at Buz- Aguni. You now have a name for your reven-
'No, no. That'd be stupid,' You think to yourself.
"I'll keep this short since I'd like to go to sleep."
Hatter takes a breath, "In The Beach, you are free to do whatever you want, drink, do drugs, have sex, go ahead. But there are three rules. Rule one: You must wear a swimsuit, you can't hide any weapons. Rule two: All cards you collect belong to The Beach for our goal."
He stops and you assume, gives you a look. But you don't ask.
Sighing, "Speaking of cards, we searched you but couldn't find them. Where are you hiding yours?"
You say the worst possible thing.
"I don't have any."
He loses his smile.
"It's true, I didn’t see a reason to keep them. I have better things to carry than cards."
You sit in silence for an uncomfortable amount of time.
Hatter looks at Aguni, "He's not joining."
Aguni looks the same, but you feel like he's disappointed for some reason.
Focusing back on you, Hatter says, "We collect those cards, so we can go home. That is The Beach's mission."
"From now on, you'll bring those cards back here."
He tries to leave, likely too tired to deal with you right now.
"What's the third rule?" You ask.
He looks over his shoulder, "Death to all traitors." And he leaves.
~~~
The following days are filled with you learning more about your new "home," and playing games.
You find out it's not just your room, but all rooms that have no lock. You also find out that you have purposely been given a shitty room. Apparently, the more cards you contribute, the better room you get.
The Beach has working electricity and water. You nearly cry. This place has food as well.
When Hatter said you can do whatever, he truly meant it.
You've seen people smoking, snorting, drowning in alcohol, and loudly "bumping" in some of the halls. You spent most of your time away from such people.
One finding that is interesting is the Executives. The Beach apparently has a council of sorts, you don't know all who sit on it, but you can guess Hatter and Aguni. One council member did approach you, however.
Chishiya.
You two met in passing during the Tagger game, but you barely remember him.
You two talk for a while, he seems fine, if not a little, "I'm smarter than you and we both know it." But, you also get the feeling that he wants something. So, you've been avoiding him since.
Today is one such day. Outside, everyone is loud and partying. You believe he doesn’t come to these parties, but it's not like you can confirm. You don't come to them either.
You pass the time mostly by yourself or chatting with the more insistent drunks.
The music stops and you turn to see the reason why. Aguni and his militia are crashing the party.
“Alright." You start turning to leave.
…But you stop, your mind catching up to what you saw. Your head snaps to the guy in the leopard shirt. He has a cocky walk. With the gun resting against his shoulder, you can see why.
‘That’s a challenge.' Your heart races.
And finally, the piercings. One in his eyebrow, the other on his nose.
You think you know them, but you need a better look.
The group stops before three people, two of which you vaguely recognize before you look back at your target, missing most of what’s said.
With a clear enough look, you can tell, even after all these years, you can tell.
Shocked, you utter,  “Nira-”
Before you finish though, you hear a part of their conversation that makes you refocus.
“Bring that woman over,” Aguni says and you see him, your old friend, move to grab the woman you recognize.
“Hey!” The man you recognize stands to stop them as the woman next to him tries to stop him in turn.
Yet, he still stood. Your old friend stops, now looking at the woman you recognize.
“Our boss says he wants to have a taste of you,” He says before grabbing her. “Come.”
That’s enough for you, though admittedly you were already seeing red, and, with the resolve of an idiot, you yell out.
“NIRAGI!”
And you charge at him. Ignoring how everyone turns to look at you, how he looks at you, not even hearing him say your name.
You punch Niragi in the face, knocking him to the ground.
ᴄᴏᴍᴘʟᴇᴛᴇ!
・❥・ requested
an: belated happy new year to you too, anony! sadly i did not get angpao because it's me who's giving away angpao's now : ( for context, angpao's are those red envelopes filled with money. usually elders give those to their grandkids but since i'm an adult already i guess i don't qualify anymore. tragic i know. but hey i'm not that old!
ps. in general sense, reader here is a weapon engineer.
→ fem!reader
Chishiya:
• the conversations are to die for. call it an aphrodisiac but the flow of questions and responses are so smooth that the two of you wouldn't notice that time kept ticking. because that's how engrossed he is on learning about the latest news on weaponry and it's purposes. • when his co workers knew that he is dating an engineer, the immediate response he gets is "oh they're boring" but it's actually the opposite! • so much knowledge leaking! chishiya's getting ideas on how to craft weapons from various items if he finds himself in dire situations. • knows how much ambition you have for yourself and honestly he's rooting for your success. • admires your logical and calm nature. his rotating shift can be a hassle but he's thankful than you can understand him. to compensate for it, he'll ask you to come to his office to eat and catch up! • when the time comes and you're working on a project that disables you two from meeting up, chishiya will ask if there is anything he can help you with. you're not only bonding together but he's also helping you out! • having a hard time reviewing a complex topic or subject? no worries! he's helping you review by asking you questions and creating flash cards. • he has a bit of trouble figuring out the acronyms you use on him but in the later days, he's already memorized them as well. • nurtures and babies you when you fail or get a passable remark on your test.
Niragi:
• since the boy-girl ratio in an engineering class is askewed, he is hawk eyed every time he is in your campus. on the lookout for any guy that gets too friendly to you. • likes how you always have logical reasoning and thinking in various situations. as someone who doesn't use his logical, you two balance each other perfectly. • finds it hot when you lead him. it doesn't matter who wears the pants in the relationship. • unlike chishiya, niragi is accustomed to the acronyms. sometimes, you two even use it while talking. • "what time is your EOD?", "oh your weekend is TBD?", "i'm currently working on an MMOG" • is patient with you. he knows you deal with existential crises, so he hears out everything that you tell him. • just want to have movie and pizza for a date? he's totally okay with it! it may be a lowkey effort but since he's spending time with you, it's perfect already. • two smart people having the most sarcastic comebacks, witty one liners and dry sense of humor dating? yes. • he's "gravitionally" pulled by your knowledge. knowledge is sexy, right? • he is on his toes as you leave him with his curiosity. he needs it to be satiated by you.
The Emperor's secret
Tumblr media
Emperor!Niragi x assassin!male-reader
[Historical fic]
TW!: poisoning someone, sexual innuendos,cursing, mentions of murder,mentions assault,this is historical fiction. It's not supposed to be accurate
Summary: a man disguises himself as the Emperor's concubine to assassinate him
/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\
"The hell did you put in this,you little shit"
This was your favourite part. Seeing them realize something is wrong.
The cup shatters and the man falls as he writhes in pain due to the poison.
A nonchalant expression remained on your face as you got up to abandon the soon to be dead person
You'd almost feel bad if it weren't a serial assaulter.
On your way home you found a rather conspicuous letter.
You knew you had your new target when it started with 'I have unfinished business'
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Ugh what is that?"
"That is my face my lord"
"Well get it out of my sight"
Niragi wasn't the kindest with his words nor was he a good ruler. It didn't come as a surprise that many people would pay money to see this man dead. Good money too.
Killing a royal wouldn't be easy though.
You'd managed to disguise yourself as a concubine just to get in these premises.
Niragi's concern at the moment wasn't keeping his life though. The emperor was bored which meant his entire kingdom would pay for it.
"Servant"
The poor servant felt her life flash before her eyes upon being called by him. "Y-yes my lord?"
"Tell my concubines that I will send word for them."
"Yes my lord. Of course my lord"
*~*~*~*~*~*
Boring
His unimpressed expression remained as his eyes roamed over the crowd of over 21 concubines of his.
21? He paused. Last time he checked there were only 20. Then his eyes fell on you.
Your face was covered by a fan and you didn't exactly look all that kind...Perfect.
Your eyes scanned the premises. Maybe if you find your way to the kitchen you can poison his food. But how? Surely he'd have a servant test his food for him before eating it. Unless you could manage to-
"You"
His words made you lose your train of thought "Hm?"
Your eyes met an accusing finger pointed at you that made you sweat bullets. Did he know? You were told that he wasn't all that bright. There's no way he could've known
"You shall be the lucky woman to have dinner with me tonight"
You breathed a sigh of relief but your sense of solace was short lived.
Dinner?
Niragi beckoned you to come closer with a smirk. Such beauty,such grace. You were the most beautiful concubine he's ever seen.
Most importantly you were new to him. Like a greedy child he usually grew tired of his toys after playing with them for too long
~*~*~*~*~*~*
You played with your food,not having spoken a word to him. The large amounts of makeup was your only saving grace when it comes to disguising yourself as a noblewoman.
You kept looking away, uncomfortable by Niragi's intrigued stare. "My dear you've been quite quiet" He wasn't used to someone not falling to his feet so your apathetic look in your eyes intrigued him.
He flashed his most charming smile. But to his surprise you didn't swoon. Interesting
"Is the food not to your standard,my concubine?" It's not the expression he was expecting but he was happy to see your eyes finally meet his for more than a split second.
You cleared your throat, mustering the best girl voice you could manage. "Oh no my lord. It's lovely" your voice was shrill and high pitched. But to your surprise this idiot didn't seem to let on to your scheme.
Niragi watched with curiosity. 'Hmm so she's not so easy on the ears. But those eyes' He shamelessly looked your body up and down. Amused by the unique shiver of disgust he got from you. Not even a blush? How sad "You're truly a fascinating woman"
He almost wanted to test his patience by not sleeping with you right away. But Niragi was not a very patient emperor.
He waited for you to finish your dessert
It irked you how he didn't even touch his slice of the sweet pastry. You were beginning to think this might be poisoned but he spoke before you could confirm your suspicions.
"I think it's about time I got my dessert. Don't you?" Something told you he wasn't talking about the cake.
(REQUEST) Human Nature - Alice in Borderland
Suguru Niragi x Male Reader
Tags: Noncon, Anal, Clothed Sex, Oral, Gangbang.
Request: I’m literally on my knees for your Mutsuhiro Watanabe’s writing, so I just wanted to request if you can make a part 2 or something similar to that but with Niragi from Aib?? Your writing literally makes me go feral, I hope the both side of your pillow are cold🙏🙏
Tumblr media
XXX
You have a hard time controlling your breathing. Across the room, Niragi struts around with his gun, as if he owns the place.
“That fucker!” Growling, you take a step toward him, but a hand on your shoulder stops you.
“Not yet, Y/n,” Jun says. “Wait until he’s alone. That’s the plan.”
You nod, however reluctantly.
That fucker Niragi has been on your mind for the past week. Once arriving here at The Beach, it didn’t take long for you and your friends to find out how dangerous it is. Choosing to stick together in case anything happens, all seemed well. But inevitably, someone would get separated.
Akane ran into Niragi, alone.
When she finally told you what happened, you almost went after him. Luckily your friends stopped you. Though you all were angry, the cooler heads convinced the rest that you need a plan to get revenge. So, after a week of planning, today’s the day.
Seeing the way Niragi’s taking, four of your friends rush into an upcoming room before he sees them. As he turns the corner, you and Jun start closing the distance between you and him. Closing in on him, your heart beats erratically, staring at his gun. Tensing, you jump at him just as Niragi whips around.
“Why the hell are you follo-” He cuts off as you jerk his gun away from him and Jun follows up with a punch to his face.
Niragi grabs his face for a moment, but it’s just enough for your friends to rush out of the room and grab him.
Thrashing about in their hold, Niragi throws curses at all of you while being taken to the bed. Emptying the gun, you throw it to the ground as Jun closes the door. Seeing this animal vulnerable, your anger gets the best of you and you pounce upon him, wrapping your hand around his throat.
“Jun!” You shout for him.
Jun hurries over and waits until Niragi’s red in the face and gasping before tying a wade of cloth around his mouth, gagging him.
You let go and he gasps, gulping down heaps of air.
“I bet you don’t even know who we are,” You say, staring down at him. “But I bet you know our friend, Akane. The girl you fucking raped!”
There’s no hint of recognition, only anger at what you doing. As if he’s thinking, “How dare you do this to me?!”
Trailing a finger down his chest, “You know, she told what you said. How it’s “Human Nature” to rape, murder, such and such from other people.”
Hooking a finger between his buttoned shirt, you grab the other side and rip it open, exposing his chest to you all.
“I suppose what happens next is also human nature.”
Niragi’s thrashing returns with renewed vigor, but you grip his throat in one hand, keeping him down as the other hand roams his body. Leaning down, you lick and nip at his throat, as if he’s a tasty treat.
You grin when Jun bites Niragi, making him yell.
Moments of “marking” him pass, and you tire. Pulling back, you see his red face and the rapid blinking.
Grinning, you bark out, “Flip him over!”
It takes a moment to do so, but it’s done. Before you can even speak, everyone’s already read your mind. Aki and Yuta reach out, latching onto Niragi’s ass. They maul him, clenching, rubbing, and spanking his sizable ass before finally grabbing the seam of his pants. With a great big tug, his thin pants rip apart easily.
Niragi tries to kick out at you, but Aki and Yuta’s hold withstands.
“Oh, what’s wrong Niragi? This is only natural. There’s no use fighting it,” You say demeaningly.
His ass fills your hands as you spread him apart. The sounds he makes as you grip his ass, nearly make you dive straight in. You bite his ass, hard enough to leave a mark and he hisses.
Spanking him before pulling back, you discard your clothing, leaving you even more naked than him.
Niragi tries tugging on your friends’ hold but fails all the same.
Retaking your previous spot, you spread his cheeks apart and spit. Niragi flinches and you can see his whole body shaking.
You say nothing, only spitting again to wet your cock. Prodding his hole, he tenses and tries to close his legs. But fails yet again.
With no hint of mercy, you slam into Niragi. He clenches his jaw, but his yells are still heard. You grip his waist tight enough to bruise him, and pound his backdoor without stopping.
"You're so fucking tight, Niragi." Leaning next to his ear. "It's just for me, huh Niragi?"
"You love it when I fuck you huh?" Every word is matched by a thrust.
His asshole clenches you tighter than anything you've ever experienced. Each time your cock filled Niragi full, he whimpered. Your hips practically blur as the slap against his ass.
“Come on bitch!” You spank him. “The quicker I cum, the sooner I’ll be done.”
You force him back into your thrusts and he groans, clawing at nothing.
Niragi clenches around your cock and you fill him with your cum.
Puffs of your breath hit Niragi’s back as you regain control. Pulling back, your cock slips from his gaping asshole, letting some of your cum leak onto the bed.
After a moment, you slide off the bed; taking Yuta’s position of holding one of Niragi’s limbs down.
Where he was once spent, Niragi’s resistance renews as he catches on. Yuta removes his own clothes before replacing your old spot.
“It’s only just begun, bitch,” Yuta hisses at him before slamming into Niragi, making him scream in both anger and agony.
XXX
No one seems to care. You’re certain of it. After a week of no sightings of Niragi, it seems the Executives replaced him with someone else. You don’t particularly care who it is, only if they’re as bad as the rest.
But that’s a matter for another day.
Right now, you’re under Niragi, thrusting up into his tight hole as Aki kneels, fucking Niragi in his ass as well. Yuta and Takeo have his hands, while Jun fucks his mouth.
You feel bad for Masayoshi, missing out, but it passes as Niragi moans around Jun’s length, clenching around you and Aki.
Perhaps The Beach isn’t so bad when you actually do whatever you.
Y/N had always been an enigma at the Borderlands. His character was shrouded in mystery, only revealing fragments of his true self. He had a penchant for danger, never caring about his own safety. With his black and white attire, he stood out amidst the chaos, always wearing his signature black and white clown mask. Y/N seldom spoke, but when he did, his words held an eerie weight.
He was a beach executive, specializing in hearts games. His skills were unparalleled, his strategy unmatched. But what truly set him apart was his strange behavior. In dangerous situations, a sudden giggle or laugh would escape his lips, seemingly out of place. It unnerved those around him, who struggled to understand his peculiar ways.
Alongside him was his twin sister, a vibrant and extroverted young woman who adored her brother. She loved to talk, always full of life and color, a stark contrast to Y/N's brooding silence. Their relationship was a complex one. Despite her affection for him, Y/N often found himself annoyed by her incessant chatter.
When the Hatter died, Aguni was probably going to be the new leader, even when many of the executives were against it. But that wasn’t the case for Niragi and Y/N, both of them were in favor in letting Aguni take the leadership of the Beach.
Niragi was desperately trying to sway the others to vote in favor of Aguni. Y/N, observing his surroundings with a detached gaze, couldn't help but feel drawn to Niragi's charisma.
As Y/N observed from a distance, his sister approached him, her voice resonating too loudly amidst the tension.
“Y/N, have you noticed how Niragi is working their charm on everyone? It's incredible!” She said, Y/N’s mask helped to hide a look of irritation. “Sister, must you always speak so much? Can't you see that we're in the middle of something important?” Y/N answered.
“But Y/N… I j-just…” she said stumbling over her words. “Save your enthusiasm for another time, sister. We must focus on the task at hand.” Y/N finally said.
Sister's vibrant expression dimmed momentarily, hurt flashing across her face. She respected Y/N's aloof nature but longed for a closer connection. However, the weight of their responsibilities kept them apart, obscuring any chance of true understanding.
Meanwhile, Niragi's gaze met Y/N's from across the room. A mischievous glint danced in their eyes as they wove through the sea of people, their purpose was flirtation.
Niragi approached Y/N a while after. “If Aguni wins, there will be countless opportunities for us to continue our games. Together, we can push the boundaries of this world, challenge the very fabric of existence…. But you have to help me convince the others” he said.
Y/N's heart pounded within his chest. The prospect of collaboration with Niragi, of exploring the depths of their connection, stirred emotions he had suppressed for far too long. Y/N stayed quiet and calm, and spoke after a while of staring at Niragi’s deep black eyes.
“I’ll help you convince them.”
Time skip
When the results were revealed, Aguni emerged victorious, thrusting the group into a future entangled with uncertainty and possibility. Y/N's mask slipped off his face as he stood among the victors, his laughter ringing with a mix of triumph and relief.
Niragi approached Y/N again, their unspoken connection simmering beneath the surface, found themselves alone amidst the quiet aftermath. Their eyes met, a magnetic pull transcending the chaos that surrounded them.
After a while they were left alone, since the other executive members had left.
In the stillness of the moment, their flirtatious banter dissolved all pretenses. The gentle touch of their hands, warm and reassuring, conveyed a yearning that had remained hidden for far too long.
Without hesitation, Y/N leaned in, his lips meeting Niragi's in a passionate and electrifying kiss. Time seemed to stand still as they surrendered to the intensity of their desire, their connection now bound by something more potent than any game.
As they broke apart, a million unspoken promises lingered on their lips. Y/N's black and white attire, a symbol of his enigmatic persona, now faded into shades of gray, merging with the vibrancy of Niragi's own essence. In each other's embrace, they found solace and purpose, a union that defied the boundaries of this grim reality.
As the shadows cast themselves across their path, Y/N and Niragi, two souls intertwined amidst the chaos, faced the future together, fearless and resolute. In their hearts, they held the true power that would light their way through the depths of the Borderlands.
I hope you liked it :)
Kenji loves to annoy Chishiya and Niragi.
Tumblr media
Old experienced player; Ryohei Arisu. Now Arisu's an adult and he married Yuzuha Usagi and is now on the wait for their children to be born. Tumblr media
You were on the roof of the Beach. Thanks to Ann - you still don't know how she got there anyway - she managed to get a notebook, a pencil and an eraser, at your request.
Days at the Beach could be long and boring. Thankfully, you spent a lot of your free time in good company; Kuina was a lovely person, and even though Chishiya wasn't the most talkative, you managed to get along and have interesting conversations. Usagi and Tata were also very good companies. As for Arisu, you saw him as a big brother, you had the same centers of interest, the fictional universe as well as video games, you could talk about that for hours.
You were pretty well surrounded. But sometimes you felt the need to isolate yourself, to clear your mind. Living in this country was not easy, and every day was a tough and trying test for the physical, but also the mental.
The only thing that was able to relax you was drawing. Sometimes you isolated yourself on the roof of the beach, and you drew the landscape that offered itself to you, animals, you drew the portrait of your friends, or simply the first thing that crossed your mind. You were just alone with yourself, your thoughts, it wasn’t really healing, but for some hours, your only thoughts were turned to the strokes of pencils on this sheet of paper.
This time, you were drawing the pool beside you. There were a lot of people who were playing, dancing... having the time of their lives, like there's no tomorrow.
Your friends knew you had this habit of isolating yourself from time to time, and they respected that. However, today, someone you never expected came to disturb your moment of tranquility.
« Hey, what are you doing here? »
That male voice startled you, eliciting a laugh from the disruptor.
You had turned around to find yourself facing the right arm of the leader of the activists. The one everyone feared, always accompanied by his sniper taped to his shoulder.
Shoulder-length black hair, face and tongue piercings, a predator, ready to get rid of anyone who got in his way.
Suguru Niragi.
What was he doing here? What did he want from you?
« Saw you from the pool, so what are you doing here? He asked, approaching you, his free hand in his pocket. - I… hum, just drawing, you answered, showing him your notebook. »
He leaned slightly to take a look at what you were doing, then straightened up.
« Hm. It's not bad, he hummed, nodding his head. »
You looked up at him, surprised. Niragi giving you a compliment? It wasn’t something common. You felt your cheeks heat up at the compliment, a big smile appearing on your face.
« Really? Thank you! It's just a simple sketch I did it in less than an hour, and then I'm not excellent at all with perspective ... It has always been my weak point. I rather prefer to draw characters or animals... Ah, sorry, I have a bad habit of talking too much when it comes to drawing.... I can come down if I disturb here... »
He arched an eyebrow when he saw you get up, you didn't want to upset him or anything.
« You can stay. Just checked you weren't some weirdos who were up to something fishy. - Oh, thanks! »
You greeted him with a smile and saw him turn on his heels, already leaving. An idea crossed your mind. You knew it wasn’t good. Especially about him. You knew you were going straight into a wall, that he was going to snub you, probably insulting you. But your words went faster than your brain and your reason.
« Wait, Niragi! Can I … Can I draw you? »
He stopped. And you regretted immediately your request. He wasn’t that kind of type to just sit down and pose while someone drew him.
« I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to… Forget what I s- - ‘kay. »
You looked at him, again. You couldn’t hide your surprise, which made him laugh.
« I have nothing to do, my shift is over, and I’m kinda bored. Don’t fail me, though. - Don’t worry about that, you answered with a smile, showing him the last portrait you did, it was Mira taking her daily cup of tea, I don’t have many skills in life, I’m not beautiful, nor smart or even physically strong, but drawing isn’t a part of it! - What kind of bullshit are you saying. Seriously. He rolled his eyes, visibly annoyed, well. We’ll see. The result will decide whether you will live or not. »
Seeing your face decompose at his words, he bursts into a nasty laugh.
« Just kidding princess, relax. - Don’t call me like that. »
You frowned. You knew this request was useless, if he wanted to call you like that, he would, whether you wanted or not.
Minutes passed where none of you spoke. You were too focused on your drawing, he was probably lost in thought, or something like that. Niragi was similar to Chishiya on certain points. It was impossible to know what he was thinking, what his next words or actions would be.
« You were a drawer before landing here, right. - Hm? You looked up at him, nodding, I assisted a mangaka for the inking, yeah all that. My dream was to publish my own manga, one day, but… »
You let out a laugh, shaking your head.
« But what? Have you been refused? The world of drawing is as cruel as the world of video games, tho. - You were working for the video game's industry? - I was a game engineer. »
Wow. You were really impressed. You’d never thought that this man was doing something like that. Well, you never doubted that Niragi was more than that kind of person he was showing to everyone at the Beach.
Borderland was showing the worst side of every human. You weren’t an exception. You had to do things to survive. Things you shouldn’t regret, even if you did.
« Are we amazed, princess? He asked with a grin. - To be honest, yeah, I didn’t expect that from you, you answered, ignoring his surname, but you were wrong for something, I… you paused for a few seconds, and sighed, I’ve never submitted my project to any magazine or something. I never had the chance. »
You felt a gaze land on you. You looked up to meet Niragi's, but directly broke eye contact, shaking your head.
« It’s nothing, I’ve always been unlucky. »
You sighed.
« I agreed to hang around here with you while you draw me, you owe me few answers. »
He was kinda right. Even if he saw that those answers hurt you. This man didn’t really have any empathy ? Or maybe his need to know was hiding something else ?
Nice. Now you were curious.
« Fine, I’ll tell you. »
You rolled your eyes.
« I wasn’t that popular in High School, you started, focus on your drawing, sometimes, you gave him little glances, but only for your drawing, of course, my classmates loved to play with me. Hiding my class notes, my bag, my shoes, throwing food in my hair you know, like the teacher used to say… - Just children games, yeah, I know. »
You looked at him. Surprised. Was he… no, it was impossible. Niragi was so confident, so scary, so cool ? Yeah, despite everything about him, you always found Niragi kinda cool. Just like Chishiya, you admired his intelligence and self-confidence. He didn't care how people looked at him, what they thought of him.
So him ? Being bullied ?
« Niragi, you… - Shut up. Keep talking. - Fine, fine… So… I had this notebook, a pretty black notebook, which I’d decorated myself, all my ideas for my manga were there. It was a story in a fantasy world, all the ideas, the drawings about the world building, the chara design, the story was there… I had it since I was twelve. »
You took a small break. Those memories weren’t really that far. Maybe one year or two.
You inhaled deeply, without stopping your drawing. You had to stay focused on something. You felt Niragi's gaze on you, but you couldn't face it.
« Don’t know how this happened, but they found my notebook. One thing led to another, they reduced this notebook to ashes, your voice was shaking, like your hands, the pages torn, burned in front of me. All my life, all my dreams, hopes, flown, ruined. »
You made a pause, taking deep breath to not cry. You didn’t want to cry. Not in front of him. In front of anyone. You didn’t want to be that weak person you were in the past ever again.
« It could’ve ended like this. But no. They didn't have enough. I don't even know why they were like that with me, why they hated me so much that they hit me with that belt and broke that glass bottle on my head. I never knew why. But they did. »
Your eyes were burning. You did your best to hold back your tears.
« I spent weeks in the hospital, I had broken ribs and head trauma. After that, I finished my studies at home. - What did they have, those assholes who did this to you ? He finally asks, his voice seemed calm, but he was angry. - Nothing, just some few hours of detention, I think. Never saw them again. »
You shrugged, and took a deep breath.
« You wanted to know, happy ? »
Your voice was more aggressive than you thought. It wasn’t against him. You were just angry about those bullies, about your High School who did nothing, against the whole world for having made your life so complicated and shitty.
You didn’t know what he was thinking right now, maybe you suspected that talking about it had probably brought back painful memories for him, and you suddenly felt bad for not thinking about it sooner. But he’d insisted that you talk, and you hadn't connected the dots about his own experience as you told. He would have stopped you if it was too hard for him, right ?
« I’m sorry if I brought back so bad memories… you started, nibbling your lips, ah, there, I’m done, you added, giving him your notebook, sorry for the vent, I know you don’t care about my childish stories. - Shut up. I care. I’m angry, and I want to kill those bastards for what they did to you. »
You stared at him, meeting his angry eyes. Again, like for you, it wasn’t against you.
« Did you… take revenge on them ? You dared to ask, biting your lip nervously. - No, I didn’t. - I’m… sorry. You whispered, you didn’t deserve to endure all of that, Niragi. - You didn’t deserve it, you too. »
Your tears ran down your cheeks without you controlling it. It was the first time you heard these words.
It wasn’t your fault.
You put down the notebook, and turned your head slightly, lifting your hair and showing him a long scar on the back of your head, and you heard curses, maybe too many curses.
« I have more on my body, that’s why I’m always wearing a jacket, you gave him a sad smile, wiping your tears, ah, and I’m crying now, amazing. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna ask you a hug ! »
You chuckled and got up, tearing off the page containing his portrait, which you signed on the back before handing it to him.
« Take it, it’s a gift for thanking you. For this moment. It’s been a while since I hadn't spoked to someone who understood me… no, in fact, it's the first time ! Thank you very much, Niragi. »
You gave him the paper, and a warm smile appeared on your face.
You understood that he had gone through the same thing, too. The pieces of the puzzle had come together on their own. Why was he acting like this at the beach and with everyone.
He understood you. He was the only one who truly understood you.
Because he's been through all this shit, too.
That's why he made you talk, tell him what you had been through, why he didn't cut you off.
Why he didn't blame you.
Every person who heard this story did, the doctors, your parents, your therapist. In their eyes, it was your fault, you hadn't made enough efforts to socialize, drawing, videos games, dreaming about a fantasy world were weird hobbies.
You've been criticized more than once for not being "normal".
Your eyes had filled with tears that you couldn’t longer contain, your body had begun to shake, and you hated it for abandoning you like this, for being so weak, so vulnerable.
Why couldn't you be strong and brave like Niragi was? Why couldn't you fuck the world off, too?
You felt a hand land on your head. Your eyes looked up to meet his again, while he was patting your head. You knew Niragi wasn't the kind of guy to be good at reassuring, consoling or god knows what else showing affection, but he had done something. You felt your face heat up, but it didn't last long. Something else took place in your mind, a thought you had once had, but always suppressed it because you were ashamed of it.
In this world ? In the Borderlands ? Being ashamed for those kinds of thoughts had no place, because there were very few consequences.
Revenge.
« I… you began, voice shaking, not very sure of what you were about to say, I want them to pay for what they did, they don’t deserve to be happy too… - Say it, it was an order, you could feel his hand running gently through your hair, which surprised you slightly, what do you want, y/n ? - I want them to die, Niragi. »
You heard him chuckle before patting your head. As if he was satisfied with your words. As if he’d guessed that you had always wanted him deep inside.
Of course, he knew, he had been through the same thing as you after all.
Maybe this world poisoned you more than you thought.
Niragi barely even hits the ground before you are on him.
Nearly ripping his shirt, you shake him, "What the fuck?! What the fuck, Niragi?!"
"I don't se-"
You raise your arm in time to block the kick to your head, but are launched off Niragi. Landing, you continue protecting your head as the blows rain down.
Catching a glimpse of your attacker, you see it's Aguni.
'Not again!' You think.
Going for a grab, Aguni pulls back fast enough to dodge, before stomping on your ribs. Your breath leaves you. He stomps on you once more and when you go to protect yourself, he aims for your head.
You catch his foot.
His eyes widen a bit and you grin. Aguni's eyes flick to the side before focusing back on you. He pulls out a gun and points it at you.
"Fu-"
"Bos-"
"What's going on?"
A familiar voice stops him from pulling the trigger.
Parting a sea of people, Hatter arrives.
"Back off, Hatter. This doesn't concern you," Aguni says, still pointing the gun at you.
"I can’t do that. As the Number One, I'm obliged to maintain order at the Beach."
Hatter walks up to him.
"Could you let them off on my account, Aguni?"
A tense silence fills the party. Getting nothing from the Militia Leader, Hatter looks at Niragi. Your old friend nonchalantly tries to pick up his forgotten gun. But only succeeds in looking awkward.
“I only take orders from the boss,” He says, keeping up his ruse.
“Then let me ask your boss.” Hatter gets right in Aguni’s face. “Who is your boss, Aguni?”
Aguni takes it. He takes his foot from your hand and he holsters his gun.
Facing his boss, “It’s you, right?”
They stare for a moment before Hatter speaks.
“Go take a shower.”
And he dismisses him.
Aguni walks off as he continues, speaking to everyone now.
“All executive members are t-”
You block out whatever he’s saying, focusing on Niragi. He glances your way, once. He then leaves and so do you, missing the rest of the event.
~~~~~
You find yourself on the roof, wondering if your night can get any worse. It can.
Chishiya waves as he comes to stand next to you.
“What do you want?" You ask.
“Just want to talk,” He says, looking out over the Beach.
You say nothing, not giving in.
"I heard what happened today."
Remembering tonight's events, you take a deep breath to calm yourself. You say nothing.
“You punched one of the executives, you know?”
Your head whips to him, “That… Fucker! Is an exec of this place?!”
Chishiya turns his gaze onto you. In your anger, you miss the smug look he has for a moment.
"He is." He returns to looking over the Beach. "Did you know him?"
"We were… friends."
If he notices your hesitation, he doesn’t say so. You know you're wound up and tense. You try to shake it off, but the anger remains.
"Did you come here just to bother me, Chishiya?" You ask with more attitude than intended.
"No. Hatter and Aguni made a decision about your punishment."
And you tense up even more.
"And?"
"You are to join Aguni's Militia, working under him and beside Niragi."
Fortunately, you are no longer tense.
"...What?"

Like she would volunteer to work with him for project works, clean up his injuries after the bullies left and pack extra food for him when his bullies ruined his lunch? She also apologise profusely to him for not being able to help out and always being a coward?

Spring
"Why are you packing another lunch box? I made yours earlier ago?" Her mother asks. Y/N stops from scooping rice, purposefully filling one part of the lunch box for a certain someone.
"I have a classmate who's lunch box always gets stolen." She said, filling the next side with sauteed vegetables and meat. "I'm packing this for him...I hope you don't mind." She told her mother, lowering her voice on her last five words. She knew her mother cooked for her, but what about giving the rest to a person she didn't know nor gave birth to?
"Poor boy. Alright, I'll go get some snacks for him too." Her mother said, going over to the fridge to take a few cups of pudding. "Give this to him too, alright?" She said, dropping three boxes in her lunch box. "Children should be helping one another, not fighting with each other." She heard her mother say before exiting the kitchen.

Summer
"Nice tits, Y/N!" One of Y/N's male classmates shouted, followed by a chorus of laughter from his group of friends. When the summer season rolled in, they were given a set of summer uniforms and Y/N was relieved to be able to feel the cool wind on her skin. However, given the circumstances that she has a blessed chest size, it made her the center of attention, especially among the male audience.
Cowering, you hid behind Niragi. Lowering your head while holding onto his arm. Niragi, infuriated, turned this head towards the direction. "Shut up and stop staring at her chest lewdly!"
"Oh, is that Suguru? Is he finally learning how to play with us?" One boy asks, amusing his friend group. Before you could hold Niragi back, he was already marching his way towards them. Everyone who was within the grass area of the school formed a circle around them, watching and cheering as they beat each other, mostly Niragi getting beaten but he did land a few good punches that knocked two or three of them out.
"You should stop fighting, Suguru." You said, sitting on top of one of the clinic beds while dabbing ointment onto his eyebrow. "I don't want you getting into fights, especially if its about me."
"I can't let Kawaguchi talk to you like that!" He suddenly shouted, earning him a glare from the school nurse. The look alone made Niragi shut his mouth and mumble out a sorry, letting out a deep sigh. "Kawaguchi's a low life anyway." He huffed, looking away with a small pink tint across his cheeks.

Autumn
"For today's activity, you all have to work by pairs." The teacher instructed, it was a project that was due next week. Hearing the instructions, it was a fairly easy one that he could start working on when he got home.
However, the problem starts to kick in. Who would want to be paired with him? Feeble Suguru who can't even defend himself, stuttering and crying while being beaten up inside the boys' bathrooms or behind the school.
Around him, his classmates started pairing up. It was only a matter of time before he watched as all of them get paired, except for him.
"Let's do best with our project!"
Niragi slightly jumped from his seat, wildly turning his head to the direction of the voice and was surprised to see you.
"Don't look at me like that!" Y/N chuckles, inserting herself to sit on the same chair as him. "I'll take ten, you take ten too. We'll be able to finish this in three days."
As much as Niragi wanted to focus on how you were going on about the project, he zoned out. The scent of your hair wafted in his nostrils, the soft scent of flowers and your long fluttering hair. Like the morning mist, they invite him. And unconsciously, he brought his hand to your hair and gently finger combed them.
And for you, you didn't complained. The feeling of his hands running in your hair made your heart skip a beat.

Winter
Has he ever told you that you looked like a fairy? Guess not.
With you, he never feels so alone. He used to believe that some people were better off alone, not destined to have someone in their life. He was halfway writing "The Common DNA in those being Hated" when he stopped and met you.
He watched you happily skipped through the lavender field, a smile on his face while his hands were tucked inside the pockets of his jeans. Come to think of it, he'd never tell anyone that you looked like a fairy. You are his personal little fairy, the one who never makes him lonely and makes him fall asleep at night peacefully.

A note from your author — I’m so sorry this took so long, I just got out for summer vacation after an extremely stressful year so I’ll be way more active now. I have decided (with much hype from @imagine-t-h-a-ttt ) to post this in parts so I could give y’all something in appreciation for dealing with me. Expect more soon!! (It might not be AiB exclusively but I will be writing more)
The borderlands was a place where anyone and everyone was alone for themselves when it came to survival. “It’s every man for themselves,” you’d often tell yourself after a game since you walked away, sometimes alone, and others didn’t. After participating in your first heart’s game you learned that, and it was forever engraved into your mind. When you were cruelly taken from the real world you were alone in your room after your nightly shift as an SDF officer. All of a sudden the lights went out whilst you were changing out of your uniform before a shower which you never got to take. Deciding to investigate the outage, you threw your uniform back on and unbuttoned the jacket revealing your black sleeveless undershirt while keeping your green cargo style uniform pants and combat boots on. After grabbing your knife and placing it into your thigh holster, you explored your neighborhood to find that everyone was gone, cars were randomly in the street as if they had been stopped out of nowhere, and you were in fact alone.
“What the fuck is this?” You whispered to yourself as you were pulling out your phone to contact your friends only to see that it was dead. “Fantastic,” you grumbled, rolling your neck to the side to crack it and relieve the tension. Venturing back to your home you thought over what this could possibly be; an evacuation drill? Maybe a nightmare? Were you daydreaming again? No, this was too real and too strange to be any of those things. You needed to get out of this area, inspect and observe other parts of Tokyo to see what was going on. You thought you could find answers before it turned dark since it was only morning so you rushed home to pack a few things before heading out.
While at home, you grabbed your backpack and in it you put; a change of clothes, three water bottles, pain pills and a few snacks as well as your phone and charger in case you could figure out a way for it to work. In a haste you also threw on your side holster which held your nine millimeter handgun and two packs of ammo for extra precautions. After that, you set out on your search of the city. The first thing you thought of was to get in one of those abandoned vehicles however even though they were full of fuel, they wouldn’t start. “So phones and vehicles don’t work, neither does anything powered by electricity. Great.”
With that newly found information, you stepped out of the vehicle and began the long walk across Tokyo. Along the way you inspected stores, homes and even government buildings but found no trace of anyone but yourself. Where did everyone go? It looked so desolate without the constant buzz of people around walking, the tourists, the neon billboards. Everything was...dead. You spent the entire day walking further into the abandoned city which was once lively yet found nothing other than a restaurant with food which you took the liberty to eat at.
Upon nightfall, you were looking for a place to stay when a billboard lit up drawing your attention to it immediately. “This way to the game arena,” it read with an arrow pointing to the left. Turning your head in that direction you saw an area in the distance brightened by lights while everything else was still surrounded in darkness. “Game arena?” You whispered in confusion. Looking around at your surroundings you didn’t see any other lights other than that building which looked to be about three blocks away. You followed the arrows leading you to the designated arena which looked to be a botanical tea garden from a distance. You slowly approached the building while keeping your hand close to the blade strapped on your thigh in case someone or something appeared. As soon as you stepped across the final set of stairs leading up to the entrance, a line of red lasers appeared and quickly turned blue when a sound similar to that of a confirmation resonated in the area. “What is this?”
“It’s the threshold of the arena.” Turning in the direction of the voice, you saw a familiar face step next to you with the same sound chiming at her entry. “Holyn? How did you get here? Are you okay?” You asked quickly before hugging her out of relife, you were more than happy to see a familiar face in this apocalyptic place. She was your childhood best friend, the only reason you hadn’t seen or heard from her in a while was because of both of your working lives.She hugged you back even tighter as she was feeling the same way you were, scared, alone and confused. When the two of you released each other she began explaining everything she knew to you as the both of you started walking into the garden.
“I got here a few days ago and since then, I’ve asked around to see what others know about whatever the hell is going on. No one knows how we got here or what exactly this place is but everyone is made to participate in games of survival. You must participate or you’ll die. After winning a game, you keep the phone you had and you’ll be supplied with a visa. The visa tells you how long you have until you’re out of time here which is why you have to participate in games to renew it before it runs out. You must win each game, there is no other way to survive if you don’t. Do everything it takes so you live and move on. Anything with an electric circuit board or IC chip does not work whereas analog equipment like radios work and so do older vehicles.” She explained quickly as more people came into view. Your mind fogged with all of the new information, it was so much to take in. Then you realized you were just thrown into a game of survival and like she said; you HAD to win to survive. “But-” you had just begun when she silenced you, “pretend you’ve been here and done this. I know you’re confused and probably scared shitless but just pretend.” She instructed as you both entered the arena and quickly added one thing, “I don’t want to continue playing after this, I killed someone Y/n.” But before you could respond she shook her head and you did as she said, silencing yourself and putting on the facade you had mastered over the years.
Upon entry, you almost immediately noticed the two groups of people to the right each containing about six people and consisting of both males and females and the other group of six men. Gauging their distance to and from each other you could conclude the individuals in each group had played together previously and probably had strategies to compete with. As you and Holyn approached the area the others stood around, you glanced down to the table in front of all of you. ‘One per person’ the sign read with approximately twenty phones laid out beside it. Each of you grabbed a random phone and stepped away from the table into your own spaces, you and Holyn sticking closely together. If everything with a circuit board was destroyed, then why did these phones work? In the middle of your questioning the phone screen lit up with the text ‘facial recognition in progress’ before switching to another screen as you looked at the others subtly to see they were looking around as well.
“Registration has closed,” the phone chimed causing each of you to glance down at the small screen. “There are twenty participants. Game: Queen of cards.”
“Rules,” the automated voice said, “After putting on the designated collars you will be divided into two teams, one team will be the Jacks while the other is the Queen of Hearts. Find the Queen of Hearts, take her phone and find the safe zone. If the Queen is not found, it is game over for the Jacks. If the Queen is found, it is game over for her.”
“Does this mean it’s one girl against the rest of us?” Holyn asked with a small crack in her voice, making hit her as a sign to be quiet and do exactly what she told you to do. The two of you grabbed the collars they had laid out on the table, placing them on your neck after close inspection. You needed to seem like you had done this before, the last thing you needed was to be seen as the weaklings or newbies. “It’s a Hearts game, of course that’s what it means. We are supposed to turn on each other and play with others minds. It makes sense.” A male with his arms crossed over his chest said. He had played before, you could tell. The group of men he came with looked like they had been here for a while based on their appearance and calmness towards the situation.
“What do you mean ‘It’s a heart's game’?” A girl who looked to be about seventeen asked. It was obvious she was new to this like you, however, you weren’t letting anyone know that. “When you see the game card, you know the type of game and the difficulty of it. Heart games are those of psychological torture and betrayal where you mess with your opponents or friends minds and emotions. Diamond games are ones of minds and intelligence, often including solving riddles or puzzles. Clubs are by far the safest there is given they are teamwork and unity games. Spade games are physical, they test your stamina and endurance. The number of the cards tell you the difficulty levels; one being the easiest and ten being the hardest.” Another man explained to the girls. You listened attentively while looking down at your phone noticing this was a six of hearts game. Hearts. There had to be a way to do this without betrayal. But before you could think of anything further you were interrupted by the phone which spoke once more.
“The Queen will have one minute to hide before Jack's time starts, but she wont know she is the Queen until Jack's time begins.” The feminine AI voice instructed once more. The girls were to be hunted by the boys and even if they weren’t the Queen the males wouldn’t know. Even if it was a best friend. You noticed when the others came to the same realization as you as one guy started profusely apologizing to a girl who was shaking. This is a game of survival. “So that means-”
“You girls better run.” It came from one of the men and said with a sinister smirk. All the guys had to do to ensure survival was take our phones and get to the undisclosed safezone. However this was more than that. You saw the weapons on a board in the distance and you knew you weren’t the only one who did. Without a second thought, you grabbed Holyn’s hand and ran as fast as you could to get the farthest from any other person, vividly aware of the knife you still had on your thigh. She quickly followed behind although she didn’t have much of a choice with your iron-like grip on her wrist. After running a sufficient distance from the others you ducked into the shrubbery and crawled towards a dark corner to hide from anyone’s sight. She sat across from you as you both tried to calm your breathing while keeping yourselves hidden from anyone who might pass by. The phone chimed again, “Hiding time is up,” the voice said while a new timer appeared on your phone. “Ten minutes,” it read. An alarm sounded throughout the arena echoing off the walls of the indoor tea garden. “The game will now commence,” you heard just before seeing your screen turn balck temporarily with your role on it.
“Thank goodness, I’m a Jack. You are too right?” Holyn asked as you turned off your phone and looked at her with a smile as her voice echoed in your mind, “you must win each game, there’s no other way to survive,” so you pushed away the dread in your chest and replied “me too.”
No. You were the Queen.
The two of you sat still for about five minutes listening to the shouts and screams of the others until you heard sets of footsteps coming in your direction causing the two of you to duck down onto your stomachs out of fear. In the distance you heard a feminine scream echo off the glass walls followed by shattering sounds and more screams of “I’m not her” or “It’s not me” followed by the sounds of struggles. “Come out come out wherever you are,” one of the men closer to you called. You could tell he was near and if you two didn’t move, he'd find you.”We found the safe zone but none of the girls were queens,” you heard one say, “damnit, if they were still alive they could help us,’ the other commented making your stomach drop. “We need to run,” who whispered to Holyn knowing those men would have no issue killing you to survive. “Three minutes remaining,” the time was announced but you could hardly hear it due to your pulse thudding in your ears.
“Now,” you called quietly queuing the both of you to jump up and run, but it didn’t go unnoticed by the men. “There they are!” One shouted followed by the heavy stomps of footsteps behind you as they set in on the chase. “It’s only the two of you, just give us the phone and you’ll live.” You ignored him and kept sprinting towards the place you knew there were weapons. Without another thought you grabbed two weapons and handed one to Holyn to defend yourselves with until she came to the realization you loathed. “You’ve been the queen this entire time!?” She shouted at you as the stomping sound got closer and closer. “I’m sorry! You said to do anything it takes to survive.” You responded with tears clouding your vision. Never in your life would you have thought you’d be choosing your life over your best friend’s, not when the two of you had gone through everything together. “Two minutes remaining,” the voice announced reminding you of your impending fate. Holyn looked at you with emotions you couldn’t decipher, but you saw the way she relaxed even if it was slight. Why was she glad you chose yourself over her?
“Come on, let’s hide.” She said grabbing your hand and this time, she was the one dragging you along. She veered off to the right pulling you behind a fountain and kept running until the two of you collapsed onto the ground. “Remember when you turned fifteen and we decided to sneak out?” she reminisced laying between your legs against your chest. “Yeah, our parents almost killed us, we were grounded for months.” you giggled despite the tears falling from your eyes. As memories of you both flooded your mind you acted without control and shouted, “Over he--” to let the men know your location but you were interrupted by her hand clasping over your mouth tightly to silence you as she yanked you backwards into the shadows. “Shh,” she whispered, calming you while you sobbed into her hand, “I want you to live on for me, okay? Beat this game, we both know you are the only one who can. I know you can. I’ll be helping you from above if I can.” She soothed laying her head on top of yours.
“One minute remaining”
The tears wouldn’t stop as you moved to hug her tightly, never wanting to let go. “I’m so sorry.” you choked out in between gasps for air. Everything was too much, too loud, time was moving too quickly, you heard the men rapidly shouting and searching for you two as you clung to your best friend. Everything seemed to be happening so quickly, the seconds flew by while you were holding the only person you had left before she was to die. “I’m not. Thank you Y/n, I wouldn’t have made it any further anyways, I’m glad I can help you move forward. Don’t let me die in vain.” She told you kissing the top of your head before roughly pushing you off to get you away from her. “Holyn!” You shouted trying to latch back onto her when suddenly the collar around her neck exploded and her blood splattered everywhere. Your eyes and mouth opened wide in shock at what you had just seen. You could feel the specks of blood all over your face and body while you stared at her now decapitated one lying in front of you. She had just died, and it was because of you, because you were selfish and confused all while being scared.
You didn’t know how long you stayed there in total silence until you just collapsed onto the cold, hard floor beneath your feet. The silence was interrupted by your blood curdling scream of pure agony that echoed throughout the enclosed building. Your head came into contact with the ground when you curled over your knees and screamed once again while grabbing at your hair and banging your forehead against the cement. Tears flowed out of both your eyes as you cried out in horror, unable to rid your mind of the events that just occurred. You screamed until your throat was raw and your voice hoarse, you could feel the clumps of hair you pulled out of your scalp as your fingers dug deeper into your skull and worst of all, you knew you were alone now.
For days, you were numb. Five days to be exact. You didn’t do much but sleep, cry, eat, walk aimlessly to a new location and then repeat it all again the next day. You couldn’t shake the immense feeling of guilt you felt when you woke each morning knowing Holyn wouldn’t because of you. It wasn’t until you played your next game, an eight of spades, that you snapped out of the haze your emotions put you in. During the game, you had to climb a tree fast enough to avoid the arrows being shot at you from below as the height the arrows were shot increased each minute as you ascended the tree. You were ahead of the others until one man decided to start pulling at your ankles to hold you back which eventually turned into him trying to make you lose your grip and fall. In the moment he yanked your body down, you almost completely lost your grip on the branch keeping you from falling. It was then that you realized you weren’t going to let Holyn die in vain, you’d survive and push through everything to honor her memory.
After that, the “acquaintances” you made between or during games never meant much to you because in the end, you could only count on and rely on yourself to ensure your survival. You stopped moping around and became the version of yourself you had always wanted to become, the one that allowed you to turn off your emotions and step away from your chaotic thoughts. You now lived for yourself and yourself only, but even then, you never killed anyone intentionally.
A few days passed by but you couldn’t tell exactly how long you had been in this hell hole. You only played games when it was necessary which was only about two days before your visa expired. After overhearing someone in a two of Spades game talk about a place called “the Beach” and the people there “knowing how to get out here,” you started observing those who played games when you didn’t. It only took a few nights to see the connection between the group of people who entered games with tag numbers on their wrists being the ones who walked out. After you played a couple games with people with the tags on their wrists, you were convinced they knew something about the strategy of the games. Lingering in the shadows, you watched the participants of the game walk out of the arena and head down the street while you quietly followed behind. You must’ve walked for five minutes before you noticed where exactly the group was headed; a vehicle. “But I thought..” you whispered to yourself in confusion seeing them jump into the four seater 1970 cadillac while you stood still in your hidden position wondering what they were doing. Upon hearing the ignition of the engine you remembered Holyn telling you only older modeled vehicles were able to work here, but where did they find fuel? Not once had you seen an operable fuel station. “There must be fuel at the beach, there has to be,” you thought to yourself, watching as they drove off which only made you more determined to find this place and get the answers to your questions. And with that thought in mind, you set out on a journey to find this so-called “beach.”
As the vehicle drove further from your sight, you started jogging in order to tail them to their location while still keeping yourself out of sight. You ran for around fifteen minutes before you saw a building in the distance, a building which had power unlike everything else in the city. Seeing the destination, you stopped running and took a while to slow your breathing and regain your energy. “So this is the Beach,” you sighed observing the structure and its surroundings. The building itself seemed to be four stories tall and included a large pool in front where people partied as if they weren’t fighting for their lives everyday. You approached a fence which seemed to outline the perimeter of the area and carefully leaned over it as if you were watching a child’s game. You saw the vast amounts of people give into the pleasures of ignorance while deafening music thrummed in the background, even from the great distance you were, you could slightly feel the vibrations of the bass in your chest.
“Ah who's this?” you heard a cynical voice ask rhetorically from behind you. At the sudden and unexpected presence you jumped, turning around and swinging your fist to punch whoever it was out of instinct. When your right hand came in contact with a face your left twisted to grab the knife you still carried on your thigh in a holster. Just as you grasped ahold of the handle one of the two people delivered a knockout-blow to the side of your head just behind your temple which caused you to instantly lose consciousness.
When you awoke you were sitting in a chair with your hands tied loosely behind your back onto the chair with what felt like a burlap bag over your head. You let out a small groan of discomfort feeling your head pulse due to your new injury, one you would have to repay later on. Upon hearing your groan, the bag was swiftly removed from your head allowing the bright lights of the room to flood your vision which hadn’t adjusted making you shut your eyes with a silent wince. After blinking a few times you get adjusted, you were finally able to scan your surroundings. In front of you stood a man with shoulder-length hair, blsck sunglasses, an open kimono and red swim trunks, to his left stood a man with buzzed hair, a black muscle shirt and green military pants who you instantly recognized.
“Aguni?” You asked with confusion seeing the man you used to work with. He was here too? You weren’t surprised he was still alive, the man was invincible when you worked with him. And just like back then, he was silent, he only gave a small nod of his head to you as a response before reassuming his statue-like stance. To his right was a man with silver hair, a white Nike hoodie and blue swim shorts who looked at you in an inquisitive manner with tired yet sharp eyes. Two women who had black hair were standing to his right and a man covered in tattoos stood further off to the side holding a sword long in length, possibly a katana. A few other people were staggered around the room but none of them seemed to be as ‘important’ as the few that you noticed immediately.
“Aguni-san? You know her?” The man in the kimono asked the latter with creased brows showing obvious confusion. “We worked at the SDF together. She was my partner before we were assigned to different segments, she’d be a good addition to the executives or militants.” He responded while putting in a good word for you. “Someone like her? An SDF officer? If you hadn’t told me, Aguni-san, I would have never known.” The man remarked crossing his arms over his chest while walking over to a desk which he leaned on. “What’s that supposed to mean?” You questioned with a scowl in his direction as your fingers fiddled with the ropes binding your wrists. You would be able to get out of them in a matter of minutes if no one noticed what you were trying to do, but it seemed the man in the white hoodie already noticed as he raised his brow in your direction with an impressed smirk on his stoic face. “A pretty, small woman like yourself...I would’ve thought you’d be tagging along with someone and not alone. Actually I would’ve thought you’d be dead by now, much less an SDF officer.” He commented with a wry smile fanning out all your cards which contradicted his statement.
“If my cards tell you anything, you should know you’re wrong,” you hummed, resuming your attempt to loosen the ropes. “Ah yes your cards,” he began while pushing himself off the desk and slowly pacing around the room, “we want you to become a resident at the Beach after seeing the cards you’ve gathered. And after learning of your pastime, you would be a great addition to the team either way.” Of course he would want you once he saw the games you had played, you were good at surviving meaning you’d also be efficient in getting him the rest of the cards. “And if I don’t want to become a resident?” You questioned poking the inside of your cheek with your tongue out of habit. You were doing just fine on your own and definitely did not need this place, however, it seemed like they needed you. Or they needed your cards more so than yourself.
“Well if you choose to stay, you’ll be able to get out of this game quicker. We have a theory that once we collect all the playing cards, one person will be able to go back to the normal world. And if you choose not to stay, well, you can walk away from here but we will keep your cards. We have gathered all the weapons in the city, we regularly gather rain water and food which the game makers seem to replenish once a week, you’ll be taken care of here.” He explained pausing directly in front of you waiting for a response. Did no one else see the problem with him? How he was manipulating everyone to get the cards under the false security that they’d get to leave too? Or was everyone here really THAT ignorant? “It seems like you take my cards either way hm?” You suggested in a hum cocking your head to the right slightly in question. “You’re correct. However, now you would be higher in the rankings and an executive after making such a great contribution and having the skill set you supposedly possess.” He told you in an attempt to persuade you into staying while adding a bit of sweetness to the word ‘contribution’. When you simply looked at him with a bored gaze, he sighed and continued speaking.
“If you decide to stay there are only three rules. 1) "always wear a bathing suit". This is to be sure no one is hiding any weapons which is why our militants don’t have to wear them if chosen to do so. Rule 2) "be free to live your life exactly as you wish including alcohol, drugs and sex" and the third and last rule: "death to traitors".” He enlightened you on the standards they lived by to help you make your decision. It didn’t seem like it would be a bad choice if you chose to stay here, you’d have food, shelter, and people you didn’t know in case you had to play another game of hearts.
“I’ll stay but I want my knife back, if I have to wear a bathing suit you’ll be able to see it anytime since I wear it on my thigh.” You compromised whilst completely freeing your hands from their bound position but still holding the rope to hide suspicions. You hated the fact you’d have to wear a swimsuit because your scars would be visible but if it meant you could have your knife, you’d be more than willing. Hearing a few chuckles resonate around the room at your demand you brought your attention to one of the men in the back of the room who had a bandage on his cheek and a black eye. It was easy to come to the conclusion that he was the one you punched earlier, and the thought of that made you smile with pride while looking at him.
“You are in no position to make demands, sweetheart,” he practically snarled at you. You hated being called sweetheart, it not only made you cringe but it infuriated you beyond measure. With a deadly glare, you let go of the rope and stood from the chair in a swift motion and threw the ropes at him without a word which said everything you needed to. However, just as he caught the ropes you could hear the door being slammed open followed by a voice which was all too familiar.
“The traitors are dead,” the unknown man announced in a tone of pride, kicking the door closed behind him. His voice instantly brought back memory after memory causing you to turn your head in shock in order to make sure you were hearing things correctly. The man you were looking at looked nothing like the one you once knew. This one had piercings on his nose and eyebrow while he sported an automatic rifle on his shoulder and a psychotic smile on his face. “Niragi?” You whispered in shock, still unable to believe your eyes. Was this the same boy you stood up for in high school? He looked so....different. What exactly happened to the sweet, shy boy you once fell in love with? “Y/N?” He questioned letting his mouth fall open the slightest but before he regained his composure. It was him, Suguru Niragi, the first and only man you’ve ever truly fallen in love with, but also the man who disappeared without a trace three years ago. You knew he had left you, it wasn’t hard to figure that much out, but you never knew why and quite frankly, you didn’t care anymore. You had moved on.
“Fantastic! Another one of our own knows this charming young woman, this will make things a lot easier. Niragi, you may take her to the locker rooms so she can change into some fitting attire then you can get her an ID bracelet and take her to her room.” The man who you noticed had a bracelet tagged 001, exclaimed with a clap of his hands as he was instructing Niragi to get you settled in. “She can do it on her own,” Niragi scoffed with a roll of his eyes which had you throwing your head back in a sarcastic chuckle. “I’ll take her,” someone insisted from the side. Glancing in the direction the voice resounded you noticed the short pale man with the silver hair stepping out towards you. He seemed oddly familiar as well but you couldn’t quite place it.
“That’s settled then. Now, my knife?” You quipped raising a brow at the ‘leader’ in the kimono just before someone came from behind you pressing a cold piece of metal to your throat while their other arm was holding your arms in place by your waist. The room went silent as everyone watched what was about to unfold in front of them, Aguni simply rolled his eyes with a sigh knowing what was about to happen. “You mean this knife?” The man teased, his voice was one you recognized from one of the two men that brought you to this place and all you wanted in that moment was to stab him for that. So, naturally, you settled for the next best thing. Pushing your head forward a little while trying not to move your neck, you watched Niragi’s expression as you threw your head backwards with all your force resulting in hitting the unknown man’s nose.
When the back of your skull came into contact with his face he immediately lessened his grip on you which allowed you to slip out of his grasp and take your knife from his hand. With your knife in hand, you grabbed his wrist, twisting it and bending his arm behind his back while your other arm placed him in a chokehold. You leaned in close to his ear as he was fighting your hold before pulling him back harshly, putting pressure on his windpipe, “Never, and I mean NEVER, touch my knife again. Got it?” You growled and if you were being honest, you would’ve intimidated yourself. You didn’t wait for a response as you pushed him forward only to watch him fall onto the ground with a soft thud. “Now,” you sighed looking up with a smile which could’ve been seen as both innocent or sinister, “let’s go,” you said slipping your knife into the holster on your thigh. The man with the white hair stepped forward with his hands in his pockets and came to your side, briefly looking at Niragi before turning his attention to you. “Let’s go, shall we?”

Foreign Feelings | Suguru Niragi
{AIB Masterlist}
Summary: The Beach to many people was seen as a beacon of hope; somewhere to be yourself; a place to begin a new life. But even with that there in his grasp, Niragi saw all of it and more in a certain boy. And ultimately, his own feelings frightened him.
Warning(s): language, violence, blood, (slight?) homophobia, cleaning wounds, sexual references, threatening, really really angsty, Niragi being a simp for Y/N

You didn’t think it would turn out this bad. The sheer abandonment you felt within yourself felt a bit too strong to be fair. You couldn’t have appeared that dead to the others in your team, could have you? You thought they may have had at least the decency to fit you in the backseat of the car to make sure you got back to The Beach safe, but apparently, even that was too unrealistic of a wish.
Very predictable, but even so, it was hard to believe that the members of The Beach would abandon one of their own so carelessly. The sight of the blinding car tail lights travelling further and further from your distorted vision created more disappointment than worry, or sadness even.
And now, you trudged slowly back to The Beach by yourself, limping along the rugged pathways and stepping blindly in the darkness. The short moment of unconsciousness you plummeted into earlier seemed to have held you under its waves for a long while, enough for the lights of neighbouring games to go out as the moon reached higher. You held no sense of direction, only travelling based on the familiar buildings you had caught a glimpse of on the way to the game earlier.
The blood that seeped into the fabric of your pants on your upper thigh created a mat of clinging limbs. The cotton that rubbed against your wound made your eyes squint and your voice crack in pain. Not believing taking your time in examining it would help, you pushed forward, looking forward to arriving back to the hellish Beach and finding some kind of medkit that would help with your injury.
Despite the situation in the moment and the warped eyesight that was creeping into your mind, you decided that the tranquillity of empty Tokyo was deemed worth the suffering pain. At least, for the first time in what seemed like forever, you had received peace.
As the garish sight of The Beach finally entered your view over the peaking tops of buildings, you stopped in your tracks and wiped the sweat forming in your palms on your dirtied shirt. It was ironically... a very gorgeous landmark. The lights that illuminated the trees and water miles out from the hotel brought at least some kind of light into the Borderland.
A beacon of hope, or so you wished to say it was. That’s what Hatter wanted, but you didn’t think it necessarily turned out that way.
It wasn’t his fault. Even in a selfish and unpredictable world that was the Borderlands, Hatter did what everyone else was doing; looking out for number one.
And if he saw The Beach as some sort of comfort, good for him. Everyone needs someone or something to keep them going. If they didn’t, what would be the point in staying alive longer?
You could ask yourself that every day. Even the few moments prior when you laid head down on the concrete, leg seeping blood and mind seeping sanity, you questioned really if it was worth standing up and walking back to The Beach. There wasn’t anything there that necessarily benefitted you. And even so, the rocks that dug into your back was the closest resemblance to a loving embrace that you had received in months.
“Fuck,” you breathed out. The hot air spilling from your mouth shifted into steam, clouding the air in front of you. “I wonder if they even notice I’m not there.”
It wouldn’t be a surprise, to you at least. But without your knowledge, a long black-haired man stood at the entrance of the lobby watching intensely for even the small glimpse of a late car driving into the car park through the glass doors. His foot tapped impatiently on the ground and his eyes darted through the night, having a sense of hope that you had perhaps survived and were making your way home.
You had no knowledge of this man’s strange growing affection. He certainly wasn’t the first thing on your mind when you slowly dragged your exhausted body along the path towards The Beach. But regardless, the idea of you being in his arms, safe and sound, breathing and well, would not escape his mind no matter how many times he attempted to shake it from his damaged and desperate head.
Your relationship wasn’t even that close. It was more of a rivalry than a relationship but even so, he did happen to have trouble getting on people’s good sides. Why did he think so highly of you and worry so much with such negative interactions you’ve had?
It’s only an appreciation, a longing for friendship, or perhaps a desire that’s prominent in a time of loneliness. That’s what he wished to believe, but he knew deep down, this obsession was much more than that.
He knew everything. It was plainly laid out in front of him, on a silver platter and gold forks. But the idea of love was something completely foreign to the second-in-command, especially with another man.
And Niragi wasn’t ready for that conversation yet.

“How did you manage to scratch this up so bad?”
Ann’s motherly voice tsked at the poor condition your leg was in. You sat back in the chair you were perched upon, looking down at Ann who was examining your wound closely as you shrugged your shoulders in uncertainty.
“How should I know? Everything happened in a flash. Next thing I knew I was laying in the middle of the street with a puddle of blood around me.”
You caught a glimpse of Ann’s eyes rolling at your lack of recollection. In the way that she harshly manhandled your leg with next to no regard for your pain, you could easily point out her obvious annoyance.
You squinted at her behaviour, feeling guilty for coming to her at such early hours of the morning. With everyone returned from the games and turning back to their usual drunken behaviour out in the party area around the pool on the ground floor, you suspected that Ann wanted nothing more than to relax and do her own research on the corpses she had been brought back. Looking after a gash on a low-number’s leg was probably the last thing she wanted to do that morning.
“Alright. This may hurt, but we’re running low on numbing materials so I need you to deal with it,” she pressed as she brought a needle towards the wound. You nodded and lifted the collar of your shirt into your mouth so you could stop yourself from screaming if you had to.
The pain was unbearable. The sharp point of the needle weaved through your bloodied and sensitive skin harshly, leaving no room for a break from the burning sensation. Ann could tell you were holding back your complaints, knowing you well. She pressed her hand onto the wound slightly, applying pressure to soothe the burning.
“Almost done,” she muttered out with a concentrated expression on her face. You nodded with your eyes squeezed shut, not wanting to look at her work on your injury. It would do nothing but bring more strain upon your already throbbing headache.
Within a few more long minutes, you let out a heavy breath you weren’t even aware you were holding when Ann announced she was finished. She leant away from your wound and pressed a clean towel onto it, cleaning up any excess blood that had seeped past your skin while she stitched it up.
“Thanks, Ann. Sorry for being a pain,” you apologized as you examined your wound. She had done well like always. Your injury felt and appeared cleaner, and you no longer held the anxiety of access blood loss or infection.
She nodded with her usual stoic expression and picked up her tools before dumping them into the nearby sink. Your blood that remained on the materials mixed with the mess, looking almost like a crime scene.
“I can’t stop you from having your fun of course, but I suggest you get back to your room and rest that leg before your next game,” Ann spoke up as you dropped to the floor from your seat upon her medical table. “You wouldn’t want to not be able to run and have to participate in a spades game.”
You nodded at her words as she glanced towards you and gestured towards your leg. Upon landing on the ground and placing weight on it, searing pain shot up through your leg and into your entire torso. But, knowing Ann, you didn’t wish to annoy her with your complaints any longer, so you swallowed in the pained sob that attempted to force itself up to your sore throat.
“Okay,” you said whilst holding up a thumbs up.
No, it was not okay. You obviously didn’t expect the pain to leave completely, but you at least expected to be able to walk without obvious heavy limping.
You took towards the metal door to the lobby, using the wall as your leverage to hide your struggle from Ann. ‘It’s fine. I’ll just make my way to my room and rest for the night. Hopefully it isn’t too bad in the morning,’ you thought to yourself.
With your exhausted hand and numb arm muscles, you twisted the doorknob and pushed yourself through. You used the door to put your weight on as you scanned the lobby quickly. From your position, you could see the balcony Hatter stood up on to do his ‘encouraging’ speeches and some of the ground floors with its deserted and empty couches.
It was strange to see absolutely no one in the halls or lobby. Usually, there was the occasional dazed drunk, or a couple swapping spit, but this night seemed awfully tranquil.
You didn’t think much of it as you trudged through the centre of the lobby. Your footsteps echoed through the room, bouncing off walls and hitting your ears. But as you neared the staircase on the opposite side of the lobby from the medical room, you noticed your echoed movements turned much heavier and louder. It took you completely freezing to realise it wasn’t you making the noise.
“Oi!” a masculine voice yelled out, making you turn your head to see who was calling. Your eyes widened when you saw the familiar long-haired second-in-command. His confident stride remained the same that you had always seen it. His sniper was hung loosely over his right shoulder as he made his way towards you, face conveying an unreadable expression. He almost appeared... relieved?
“When did you sneak in? I didn’t see you come back with any of the other cars,” he asked as he continued approaching you.
Having not had a very friendly relationship with Niragi, you felt belittled by his presence alone. His aura caused a deep annoyance within you to surface without fail every time you saw him. It wasn’t particularly hatred or disgust that he brought you, but more frustration. He always seems to want your undivided attention somehow, and a lot of the time he would do stupid things just to get it. You somewhat found it pathetic, but you would never say it to his face as you knew his sensitive ego wouldn’t handle it.
“I... I uhh...” you stuttered out, not knowing what to say exactly. How could you explain him not seeing you? You walked right through the front doors of the hotel. Perhaps he had gotten sidetracked during the moment that you had arrived and happened to not see you enter.
“Huh? Lost your tongue L/N? Answer me!” Niragi came close to your figure and sprung his hand out to grip your upper bicep. His tough palm felt hot on your trembling skin and you felt the small stabs of pain from his fingernails digging into your flesh. You didn’t move but only breathed shallowly and nervously due to the now almost non-existent distance between you and Niragi’s faces.
His eyes locked onto yours and for a short second, you noticed how purely dark his were. You saw the clear reflection of your dazzled face in his irises and the long feminine eyelashes that decorated them. Paired with his sienna skin tone and the way his silver piercings stand out from it, you thought to yourself how much of a shame that a beautiful face was wasted on a bad personality.
“I was just leaving,” you said through a clenched, aching jaw. “How about you? What were you doing up so late?” you spat back in retaliation to his disrespect.
You weren’t ever too sure what label you would put on your and Niragi’s relationship. You were convinced that the only reason he picks on you is because of the first day when you were brought to The Beach, you spat in his face when he got a bit too close to your bruised and bloodied frame in which was tied in a chair in front of the executives. He couldn’t believe the audacity and froze for a short second before cracking the butt of his rifle across your cheekbone, only making you groan and roll your eyes in pain.
The smirk you gave him after copping the hit was one that haunted his head for days after the incident. The slight shine of white teeth behind the paint of crimson blood and the curl of your lips. It really didn’t take much of you just being your cocky and hot-headed self to make the air leave Niragi’s lungs. The sudden feeling embarrassed him, even more so than having the drip of your spit running along his eyelid and into his wide eyes.
Perhaps it was your lack of fear of him that drew him to you or the idea that he could perhaps have you as a potential ally, even if you didn’t get the best first impression of each other.
God, Niragi wishes it was something as simple as that. But the somersaults that his stomach does and the slight tremble in his hands that occur when he puts on his façade to intimidate you says otherwise. Why was it so different with you? Why did he feel so drawn to you?
He knew why, but he didn’t want to acknowledge it, especially in a place like The Beach with the reputation he has amongst the players there. No one particularly imagined him with another man considering the awful history he has with a lot of women in the hotel.
Snapping back to the present, he gripped your arm tighter again as he realised he had let loose slightly during his staring match with you.
“Brave of you to be so interested in my affairs,” Niragi snarled quietly. “I suggest you keep your worries about yourself.”
You turned so your body faced him fully and pulled his rough arm off yours by his wrist. He let go surprisingly easily. “Take your own advice, Niragi. Wouldn’t Aguni be waiting to get his dick sucked by you at this time of night?” You glanced at your wrist to mimic checking the time. “Why are you so concerned about me?” you teased with a slight smile toying on your lips.
The black-haired man stayed dead quiet while giving you a bored stare. “How many times have you made that same joke now? Twenty times? Thirty times? Come up with something else to piss me off with. I might get bored of torturing you otherwise,” Niragi smirked as he placed his rifle on the ground, leaning against his leg. He crossed his arms and stood tall.
“Oh so you do enjoy spending time with me?” you accentuated and leant towards the second-in-command. He frowned at your claim and shook his head in defiance. “Shut up. You’re looking for a quick bullet in your head with your attitude.”
“If you actually hated me as much as you claim to, that would have already happened.”
“Maybe that stupid attitude of yours is entertaining in a way.”
“I don’t see anyone else saying that.”
Niragi kept his gaze locked onto you, eyes impatient and dark with his long fingers tapping on the checked fabric of his crossed arms. You scanned his strained face in which was slightly dark due to the shadows of the lobby lights. Just before he sighed loudly and turned away from you to make his way back to the hallways on the bottom floor, you swore you saw slight drips of stress sweat on his temple.
“Just go to fucking bed. I can’t deal with this right now. It’s too late,” Niragi groaned as he walked away.
You opened your mouth in surprise at his confidence. “You’re the one that started it you prick!”
____________________________
Your leg had healed especially well over the next few days. The only pain that was left was the burning sensation you would have to endure when taking a hot shower, but other than that, all other inconveniences had cleared themselves up.
For those few days in which you could spend time by yourself due to earning yourself some visa days after the horrid game, you mainly stayed at the hotel and searched for some groups of people to stick with for the next few weeks or so. You were still relatively new to The Beach (you only arrived a few weeks ago) and you knew your last team was obviously not an option anymore, considering they left you for dead in the middle of Tokyo.
You had taken refuge with two mysterious people who seemed to keep out of the way of others, which honestly was your best bet. Being too involved with other groups usually led to more trouble than you were really hoping for.
The two individuals were called Chishiya and Kuina. They had been stationed at The Beach for a while and conveyed a great deal of kindness towards you, so you thought sticking with them for a while would perhaps bring some kind of benefit to you.
Although, they did manage to keep your guard up. With Chishiya’s playful yet sly smile and Kuina’s constant discussion of overthrowing Hatter and the militants, you were slightly unnerved by their actions. But they were the best you could do for that moment. If worst came to worst, you could always search for another team or person to take you in.
Niragi always seemed quite eager to have you close to him considering how often he randomly approached you and pushed you around. You were sure if you were to become truly that desperate for an alliance of some kind, you could depend on him for a short time.
Your few relaxing days didn’t last long. Without the need to hunt for food or for a safe place to sleep, you didn’t particularly have much else to do except get drunk or sleep in your hotel room. Chishiya and Kuina liked to sneak around often and cause some trouble. You weren’t entirely against doing so, but you’d rather keep yourself alive for as long as you could. And considering the strict punishments put against traitors, you didn’t become very involved in their affairs.
It came to the time to replenish your visa. You waited until your last night available so you had time to completely recover from your injury. You stood close to the centre of the lobby between Kuina and Chishiya as Hatter announced the groups and their locations for the night. Despite your numbers being quite drawn apart from one another and being placed in different groups, Chishiya insisted that you came with him and Kuina. You saw it as a benefit, seeing someone so happy to have you side with them.
“We have more of a chance to survive when there’s more of us,” Chishiya explained as the three of you strutted out the front hotel doors and towards the cars in the parking lot. “Not many people have a team of two or more when going to games together, so we’ll have the advantage.”
You nodded at his words and glanced towards Kuina to see her reaction. Only, she didn’t speak and kept her head low, staring at the concrete ground. Her dreadlocks hid her expression and you frowned at her quietness. Over the few days you had known her, you had gathered that she was a very chatty person. It was unusual, to see her so hesitant.
You shook it off and took it as she wasn’t feeling well, or that she was nervous. You smiled softly and reached a hand out to place it on her shoulder. Kuina turned her head towards you at your kind gesture.
“We’ll be fine. We’ve all done this many times before. What’s one more game?” you said, attempting to cheer her up.
Only she didn’t respond and only kept eye contact with you. Her eyes were sad almost, making you feel bad as you may have said something wrong.
As you moved towards the car, you opened the rusted door of the passenger seat and were about to clamber in before a tight hand gripped onto your upper arm suddenly.
“Hey! What’s your-” you were cut off when you made eye contact with none other than Niragi. He held an outraged expression, eyebrows furrowed and forehead stressed as he pulled on your arm to get you away from the car.
“This isn’t your group, and don’t act like you don’t know that,” he almost spat into your face. Without the obvious annoyance surging through your blood during the moment, you would have noticed the very close distance between you too. Your lips were only a few inches apart and Niragi’s leg was hooked behind yours to make sure you didn’t get into the car. But at that moment, it was anything but romantic.
“Fuck off Niragi. I’m going with them,” you rebutted assuredly as you ripped your arm from his painful grip. “You have a serious problem with grabbing people. Get it fixed.”
As you turned away to try and climb into the car, you expected him to eventually give up and mind his own business. Most of your interactions went like that on most days, but apparently, Niragi wasn’t having it that day.
The second-in-command reached down and gripped a ball of your shirt fabric into his fist before yanking you back out of the car towards him by your back. You choked briefly from the unexpected force but fell back easily before regaining your balance by holding the roof of the car and turning to face Niragi with a stunned expression.
“What the fuck is your issue?!” you complained loudly as you shoved him by his chest backwards.
Niragi kept his firm expression. “You’re coming with me. You’re with me tonight.”
He moved his grip from the back of your shirt to your collar, pulling harshly towards what you guessed was his group’s car while you groaned at his rough manhandling.
Kuina stepped out of the car and watched as you were dragged away, frown on her face as she chewed harder on her makeshift cigarette. She glanced to the other side of the car and saw Chishiya watching with a bored expression.
“What do you think that’s about?” she asked, trying to hear Chishiya’s insight. The blonde shook his head disapprovingly and pulled his hoodie over his hair before moving to climb back into the car seat.
“Niragi just has a small crush. Nothing too serious. But he did just take our test dummy,” Chishiya complained and ran a hand over his face tiredly. “It’s fine though. We’ll find someone else who doesn’t have a guard dog.”
Kuina nodded before climbing into the backseat with Chishiya. She wouldn’t admit it to him, but she was relieved Niragi dragged you away. Knowing Chishiya, he wouldn’t have hesitated to push you in front of a trap to see if it was deadly. He had admitted it to her himself, which was why she was quite anxious earlier.
Niragi didnt quit his maltreatment until you were pushed into the back seat of the vehicle. He even dared to kick your legs into the car after shoving your torso in before slamming the door heavily on you.
“Fucking hell,” you sighed out and straightened yourself out. “Desperate much.”
The car held other militants, whom of which you did not recognize well. The only militant you were familiar with was Aguni, and he didn’t appear to be there.
“Drive,” you heard Niragi demand towards the driver as he climbed into the passenger seat. You watched as he tucked his rifle near his legs and leant back against the car seat before letting out a heavy sigh.
You didn’t know quite what to say after his random aggressive behaviour towards you. You thought it was best to stay quiet in the back seat of the car and wait for what kind of plan was ahead of you when you arrived at the game.
Who knows? Perhaps Niragi was going to use you as a shield, or a test dummy. But you couldn’t be so sure about that.

“Pairs?”
You stared down at the rules planted across the bright screen. With the darkness of the registration room dancing along the walls, the phone brought comfort with its blinding light, but only for a short while.
‘Travel in pairs to search for the items listed below on your mobiles. Teams who have failed to achieve their items and exit the building after 30 minutes will be trapped, and the bomb will be set off to eliminate them.’
‘Shopping List’ was the name of the game. It was set in a large shopping mall with the registration room being the elevator room at the bottom of the centre. To start the game, teams were to clamber into a separate elevator each and be taken to different floors in order to begin their scavenger hunt.
Without your knowledge, Niragi felt glad about the ‘pairs’ rule. He felt stupid, but the smirk that was painted across his face could not be helped.
‘Team No 1: Player 1000167 and Player 1000387. Takayama Shigeru and Honda Rika.’
A young militant man and woman glanced towards each other before nodding. They made their way towards an elevator and stood before it to wait for the game to start.
‘Team No 2: Player 1000089 and Player 1000432. Suguru Niragi and L/N Y/N.’
Just your luck. But if you were being honest, it could have been worse. At least you weren’t required to kill each other.
As you made your way towards Niragi and you stood near an elevator, the voice read out the two other teams that accompanied you to your game. Some came in a separate car, so you were not expecting to have so many people at the one game.
Once everyone was positioned, the elevator’s opened to reveal and small sign plastered onto the wall inside. 「スタート」: Start.
You glanced towards the man beside you. In all his glory, with his black glossy hair and slightly parted pink lips, he strutted forward into the elevator without even an eye movement in your direction.
When he noticed you hadn’t moved, he turned slowly and looked over his shoulder that wasn’t resting a rifle. “What’s wrong? Afraid I’ll hurt you?” he pushed your buttons, making you snap out of your daze.
“Shut the fuck up,” you groaned as you moved forward, shoving your shoulder into his aggressively in the process. “Go choke on a bullet.”
Niragi chuckled at your attempt at an insult. He felt in power. Usually, you were the one to make him flustered and unnerved, but obviously, that show he put on back at the hotel to get you with his team seemed to have thrown you off.
The elevator doors closed and you were met with silence within the small space. You kept your eyes forward, staring at your dead reflection in the metal of the elevator doors. Once or twice, you glanced at Niragi’s reflection. Your eyes scanned his body, his face, his movements. He shuffled around nervously a lot, you noticed.
You got so caught up in admiring Niragi that you didn’t notice how quick the minute went by, and soon enough the doors opened up to reveal a shopping mall floor. You guys had appeared to be taken to the top floor as the ceiling was very close and the railing was high.
As you both stepped out and scanned the area, the elevator doors closed and lights began to turn on throughout the shops along the floor. All the doors to the stores were closed, and you guessed the items you were searching for were amongst the very many products that were throughout the shopping centre.
“Fucking hell,” you heard Niragi breathe out as he looked up towards the ceiling. You followed his gaze and your eyes widened at the sight above you.
Directly above your figures, you caught sight of a giant pile of dynamite plastered to the ceiling. In the centre was a large digital clock that read ‘30:00′.
“We’ll be the first dead,” you announced as you glanced at Niragi. “Even if a quarter of that goes off, it’ll reach us, or at least the debris around us.”
He nodded and swallowed thickly before standing tall beginning to make his way past you to the first shop. “It’s best we check everywhere for those items in the phone. You never know what tricks they could play. They could put a clothing item in a grocery store for all we know.”
‘Game Start’
You flinched slightly as the large doors to all the shops began to snap open, making it possible to go inside.
“Alright, let’s go,” you said after taking a quick glance at the clock amongst the dynamite, now slowly ticking down towards zero.
____________________________________
With the small diamond ring in your palm and five minutes left on the clock, you let out a deep huff and fell back into the chair against the wall. You looked at your phone to see the final item crossed off, feeling a great weight lift from your body. Who knew shopping would be so stressful, even when you had a list.
‘Team No 2: Suguru Niragi and L/N Y/N... Game Clear’
“Now all we have to do is make our way back to the registration area,” Niragi spoke up as he watched you rest on your seat with his rifle slung over his shoulder. You nodded at his statement and closed your eyes in bliss. Another game is done, now you could relax at least for a few days.
“You seem awfully comfortable there,” Niragi spoke up, making you open your eyes only to see him standing right next to your resting form now. You jumped slightly at his close proximity and glanced up at him.
“Come on, we have to go. The game isn’t finished yet,” he insisted and kicked your leg slightly to get you to move. You groaned in annoyance and faced away from him in the chair, resting your head on the back.
“God, can I rest for five minutes. We’ve been running around on our feet for ages,” you complained.
Niragi rolled his eyes at your behaviour. “If you haven’t noticed, if you stay here for five minutes, this shop is going to end up at the bottom of the mall with us in it.”
Niragi squatted on his heels so he was at level with you. You made eye contact and saw his looking genuine for the first time. His sudden hard, black pits were gone and were replaced with these much more... puppy eyes almost. You didn’t know how else to interpret it.
You frowned and sat up straight while keeping eye contact with Niragi. “What’s going on?” you asked, scanning his body up and down.
“...huh?” Niragi responded with his eyebrows crooked in confusion. He stood up and stared down at you. “What’s wrong?”
His aura was wrong. Why did he seem so... off? He kept a soft expression on his face as he scanned your features. Furthermore, he had removed the tie in his hair, now allowing it to breathe and shape his face. He looked like a different person. Much more inviting.
“What? You have a staring problem?” he mumbled as he turned around and away from you. Without your knowledge, it was merely to hide the blood rushing to his face from watching your eyes run all over his body like they just had. He slightly smacked his face with his palms, mumbling to himself to cut it out.
You scoffed at him. “Never-mind. You’re back.”
The silence grew awkward between you too suddenly. You fiddled with the small ring in your hand, noticing how the jewel manages to catch the moonlight’s reflection, even through all the windows and the brightness of the lights. You swore you could see yourself in that diamond alone.
“Hey,” you spoke up as a random thought came to your mind about what happened earlier. Niragi glanced over his shoulder at you.
“What the fuck was with that whole act earlier?” you asked curiously. “What difference did me coming with you tonight make?”
Oh how badly Niragi wanted to say ‘You would be dead and I can’t have that.’ The number of times he’s fantasized about finally admitting his growing feelings for you, but he couldn’t. Not there.
Even so, he wasn’t even entirely sure if what he felt was love. For all he knew, he had never felt it.
“I needed more people. As simple as that,” Niragi answered in a monotone voice. He fiddled with the collar of his buttoned-up shirt nervously, which you managed to pick up on.
“You could have picked anyone,” you continued pressing as you realised your question made Niragi have a slight reaction. “I’m sure there would have been many other players who were willing to go-”
“You were the first person I saw alright? Just drop it.”
You fell silent at his sudden harsh tone. Not wanting to anger him further. He walked over to the corner of the room and took a seat on the marble floor, crossing his legs beneath him and laying his rifle on his lap. After a minute of silence, the tension in the room was too much for you to bare.
“Did you want me to stay with you?”
The question created an even stronger tension to rise as Niragi completely froze from fiddling with his rifle. He slowly brought his eyes to yours, a disgusted scowl on his face.
“What? No,” he snarled and went back to cleaning his weapon. “What kind of fucking stupid question is that?”
You tried to hide your smirk. His defensiveness, it was almost a certain yes.
Niragi felt his heartbeat in his hands. He wasn’t even sure what he was doing anymore, touching random parts of his rifle to make it seem like he wasn’t interested. He was thankful to himself for taking his hair out, as he now was able to hide his sweat and blush easier behind the black locks.
Although, he felt himself panic when he heard your footsteps approaching him. Heavy boots hitting the marble ground and echoing in his mind. He saw in the corner of his eye the toes of your shoes, making him almost forget to breathe. You were so close to him.
You squatted down to Niragi’s level on the ground and brought a soft hand to the top of his head, threading your fingers through the black glossy hair.
Niragi had frozen, eyes widened and muscles tensed, having no idea what to do. Does he lash out? Does he let it happen? Part of him wanted to punch you out, tackle you to the ground and beat you until you’re screaming for making him feel such a way. But the other part that he wasn’t so used to wished to push himself into your arms, tuck his face into your neck and breath deeply the natural scent of you that he so wished he could wake up to every morning.
He couldn’t decide, but soon enough you had brought a hand to his soft cheek and pushed it so he was looking up at your face. His black eyes were big, almost innocent even, staring up at you with such uncertainty and fear.
You chuckled at the dazzled expression of the militant before moving your hand on his head to his other cheek, cupping his face and bringing him closer to yours.
“It’s okay Niragi.  You don’t have to hide anything from me,” you whispered in a comforting tone. With the lack of response from the second-in-command and only a blank stare, you took it as a sign of consent, allowing yourself to move forward to press your lips against his pouted ones.
Niragi’s lips felt soft and heated. You moved yours against his slowly, trying to be as gentle as you could. Even though he was such a scary and powerful man, at that moment, you felt like he could shatter like glass if you did one thing wrong.
He tasted like salt on your tongue, from gathered sweat and tears that fell down his face. He felt like home, something you hadn’t felt in a long time. He brought the same comfort that of the freshness of a deadly storm, the warmth of an unstoppable forest fire, the soft fur of an aggressive dog.
In such bad personalities, in such bad people, there is some good. In Niragi, it was hidden greatly below the layers of anger, trauma, frustration, egoism. And whether anyone else believed it was worth finding did not matter to you at that moment, because you had found that it was.
Only, that goodness within him didn’t show itself for long before retreating into the depths of darkness within him.
Your head snapped to the side as a searing pain painted itself along your temple. You felt your eye seep hot blood and your mouth seep groans. Slowly, you moved your eyes back to Niragi, only to see the barrel of his rifle held in front of your face, directly between your eyes. You froze, not knowing whether he would shoot or not.
“Fucking disgusting pervert,” he choked out as he wiped his mouth. He stood quickly with his weapon, refusing to make eye contact with you and rushed out of the store in the direction of the elevator. You watched as he stumbled slightly, almost tripping over his own feet multiple times.
When he was too far to see anymore, you fell back onto your butt and let out a frustrated groan while rubbing your face in stress. How could have you been so stupid?
As tears began to slowly escape your eyes, you heard a quiet *ding* of your game mobile going off.
‘Two minutes remaining.’
You felt your blood quicken and you struggled to stand up. With tears blurring your vision and body shaking in pain from the punch in the temple Niragi gave you, you quickly picked up the phone from the floor and made your way towards the elevator. You were sure Niragi would have been gone by the time you got there.

Niragi stumbled through the open doors of the elevator, hair tied back up but head held low. He lifted his gaze and locked eyes with Shigeru, one of the male militants he works with. Rika was leaning against the wall nearby.
“What happened to you? You look very flushed,” Shigeru asked, laughing tauntingly.
Niragi, of course, didn’t answer. He pushed past the snarky male and walked outside, completely dead to the calls Shigeru was emitting for him.
He needed some sleep. Maybe then he could wake up and everything would have sorted itself out.
“Come on,’ he called out to Shigeru and Rika. “Let’s go.”
Before walking out the doors of the shopping mall, Rika glanced back to the elevators. “What about the new guy?” she questioned, turning back to Niragi.
Niragi waved a hand over his shoulder in dismissal. “He offed himself. Got ahold of my rifle and gave himself a quick death,” he lied. While doing so, he quickly had to wipe a leftover tear as he opened the car door.
Rika shrugged her shoulders and made her way over to the car, excited to go back to the hotel and get some rest.
Niragi was excited too, not to get some rest, but to get as far away from you as possible.
Maybe he wasn’t cut out for love. Especially since his first reaction to his crush kissing him was to shove a gun into their face.
He thought he could do it somehow, but your affection back at him is what scared him off. Was it meant to feel that good? Is what he felt when you held his face like a flower and pressed your pillow-like lips against his love? He wouldn’t know for now, and nor does he think would ever know. Because he just fucked up the only chance he would ever have from being accepted by someone.
As someone who kills for validation, what would he know about love?

His boots were heavy on his feet as Niragi climbed the stairs to the ‘rats’ hotel room. That’s what he liked to call Chishiya, the blondie of The Beach who brings a lot of trouble for how short he is. He was like a rat in a way. Small, annoying, smart and scatters around your feet for scraps.
He needed to approach him about something he had overheard before leaving for the game.
Niragi arrived at Chishiya’s door and knocked on it relatively calmly. “Chishiya, open up,” he requested.
Although, his patience didn’t last long.
“Chishiya!” he yelled the second time, pounding his fist harder on the wood, making the doorframe shake. “Open the fucking door!”
His face felt hot and his hands were shaking in pure anger. Before climbing the many tiring flights of stairs to Chishiya’s room, Niragi had discarded his usual weapon at the militant’s headquarters. He knew if he had brought it, someone would have died.
“CHISHIYA!!” he screamed a final time, this time kicking the door in full force.
“What’s wrong?” he heard a voice call down the hall. Niragi snapped his gaze from the door to the calm voice, immediately seeing red from the sight of him.
Chishiya stood in all his glory, white hoodie with board shorts and flip-flops, a smug smile etched onto his face permanently.
“If you’re here to kill me, can we do it outside at least so I don’t leave a mess on the carpet,” Chishiya requests in a snarky tone. Niragi didn’t answer but only strode towards him in quick, long steps.
“Upset you didn’t get your little shield? Did you manage okay without him?” Niragi taunted as he walked closer. Chishiya began back pacing, trying to widen the gap between him and the taller militant.
“It’s a shame you stole him away. I was starting to really like him,” Chishiya pressed as he continued moving backwards. The blondie gripped the small makeshift knife in his hoodie pocket, being ready to use it if it became necessary.
“Like shit you were. You were going to kill him,” Niragi accused as he pointed a finger towards the blond.
Chishiya chuckled and placed a hand on his heart to act like he was offended by Niragi’s claim. “If it came to it, yes. But not right away! I really liked Y/N, but obviously not as much as you do.”
Niragi froze in his tracks at Chishiya’s words. “...you know about that?”
“Oh so it is true!” he confirmed and his eyes widened in surprise. “I was only going off what I had suspected, but you just told me straight up. I should have just asked you.”
Niragi clenched his fists in frustration at the taunting of Chishiya. Silence overcame them as they only watched each other, waiting for the other to do something.
Niragi was the first to move as he suddenly sprinted forward towards Chishiya. Chishiya saw it coming and moved quickly while slightly cursing in fear. He took off in the opposite direction down the hall to escape Niragi, but Niragi had longer legs and an obvious size advantage.
He caught up to the Cheshire quickly and gripped him by the hood of his hoodie, yanking him backwards and laying his first punch straight on his nose. Chishiya cried out in pain and dropped himself to the floor in an attempt to crawl away, but Niragi brought his heavy boot down onto his upper back to hold him down.
Chishiya groaned at the weight put on him, feeling his ribs slowly crushing in his chest and his lungs starting to suffocate.
Niragi didn’t want to kill Chishiya. Well... he did, but he knew he couldn’t.
He leant down close to the younger man and grabbed a fistful of his white hair before pulling his head back. Chishiya hissed and struggled further underneath his weight.
“If you ever fucking think about touching Y/N, or even going near him again... I won’t hesitate to bite your throat out myself,” Niragi threatened. The best part was, Chishiya believed him. In most cases, Niragi would be bluffing and would not go through with his threats, but something about this one made Chishiya feel uneasy.
“Okay... I’m sorry,” Chishiya begged underneath Niragi, still groaning in pain from the burning in his chest.
Niragi let go of Chishiya and watched him struggled to escape from beneath him like a rat before he disappeared down the hall and into his room.

It was a repeat of last time. Exactly the same. Only this time, the emotional pain hurt much worse.
There you were, dragging yourself into the ghostly Beach late once again. Injured, tired and having just had to walk all the way back yourself due to being abandoned.
You wanted to find Niragi, you really did, but it was not the time for it.
You trudged towards the steps to make your way to your room and have a well-needed rest. You thought you’d go see Ann some other time the next day as you weren’t exactly in the best mood to deal with her motherly behaviour.
The stairs were taller and bigger than usual as you slowly made your way up them. You saw a few familiar faces on the way, such as Usagi, whose kind heart offered you some help which you declined. You didn’t wish to trouble anyone any further.
Your door. The hotel door that you wished so badly to be the front door of your home. You put your bloodied hand on the doorknob and turned while closing your eyes. When you opened, you saw the bare nothingness of your hotel room, just as always.
Every single time. When will you ever open to find your room back at home? Your family happily welcoming you in with happy hugs and loving kisses? Or even your pet would be enough, and their unconditional love that soothed you every day.
It truly did not exist here, and that day out of all days proved it to you.
“At least my bed is comfy,” you sobbed slightly as you sat down on your duvet after having a quick shower. You wore a loose t-shirt and shorts made from soft material, wanting to be comfortable for bed. You would need it after the day you’ve had.
You laid your heavy head down, closing your eyes and breathing in the strong smell of dried blood and sweat that has cemented itself into your bed and your room. There was never really any time to do laundry around here.
It wasn’t comforting, no matter how much you wished or pretended it to be. Tears fell from your face as you ran your palm along the bedsheets, trying to find a warm hug beneath their cold exterior. A hug. That’s all you could ask for during that moment.
You must have fallen asleep much quicker than you expected, as you failed to hear the door to your hotel room creak open. You failed to hear the removal of boots, the patter of slight heavy feet and the stripping of clothing.
But you did notice the dip on the mattress when Niragi tucked himself in beside you, causing you to open your eyes. Hair untied, no buttoned-shirt, no blood staining his gorgeous skin and no rifle hanging on his shoulder. He was him, his very much real, domestic self. The self he keeps behind closed doors, or the self he keeps beneath his cold exterior.
“Niragi...” you breathed out, half asleep. You reached out to him, tears suddenly clouding your vision and making him appear blurred. The militant laced his fingers with yours and pulled your body into his, allowing himself to tuck his face into your neck to breathe in your natural and earthy smell, just how he had hoped it to be.
“I’m sorry,” he choked out. He didn’t realise he was crying until he opened his mouth to speak, but he didn’t care at that point.
“I promise you, I wanted to kiss back, I really did. I was just...” he trailed off, snaking his arms around your torso and bringing you closer into his bare, warm chest.
“Scared,” you finished for him. You pulled your face back to look at his, the gorgeous face that you have wanted to have pressed up against your own for so long. Despite the atrocities that leave it, nothing had ever been so beautiful to you.
Niragi blinked and broke eye contact nervously. He looked down towards your intertwined hands, fiddling with your fingers.
“I don’t know if I’ll figure this out,” he started, obviously struggling to find the right words. “And I’m scared you’ll run out of patience for me.”
You listened to his confession. “I don’t know if I’m gay, or bisexual or... pansexual? Is that what’s it called? I’m not sure-”
“Niragi.” He made eye contact with you and gave a weak smile. “It doesn’t matter. I don’t care what you like or how you want to appear to the rest of the players, but right now, moments like these is what I truly care about.”
The second-in-command laughed nervously before tucking himself back into your neck. “Me too,” he choked out with a shaky breath.
“I love you Y/N, I really do,” he cried while wrapping his arms around you as tightly as he could. “I’m so sorry that I can’t show it properly. I’ll try and learn.”
You nodded against him and kissed the bruised skin of his shoulder. “I know you will. I love you too.”
Whether you wished for a happy ending with Niragi or not, it did not matter during that moment. For the warmth of his breath against your skin and the flesh of his lips against yours and the tickling feeling of his loose hair on your face was enough to make you forget about the morning, and the next day, and the next week for at least a little bit.
And that’s all you needed to love Niragi. Just little moments of bliss that make you return to your deluded mentality that you will both make it out of this world alive and together.
