FINISHED EPISODE THOUGHTS:

all i wanted ever since the finale season was first announced, was for the show to end in a way that we destiel shippers can happily enjoy theorizing what happens after the credits. i never expected it to go canon, so all i asked was that both Dean and Cas exist in the same space so we can imagine what we want.

I feel like that is what we got, which is why I’m happy!

listen, i didnt expect any canon destiel at all! So I’m not broken up about not seeing more of it. I’m grateful for what we were given. I’m going to continue to be grateful because I got what I wanted- both of them together in the same space by the time the credits rolled. Yeah I would have liked to have seen Cas, but Dean will see Cas after his drive. He just died. He needs a minute to take it in.

My worst fear was that Cas would be stuck in the empty forever and we wouldn’t be able to write post-canon destiel fics and art without making it an alternate universe

i mean, people are still gonna do that. but with this ending? even without a canon reciprocation? We are FREE to write, draw, and imagine them together in heaven spending their eternities together in peace.
