“yes please.” you pout, tucking yourself as close to gojo as you can for warmth. putting an arm over your shoulder, he rests his head on your not-so-soggy hair. “i can pay.”

“don’t insult me like that.” he huffs, tugging on a piece of your hair gently. he loves to spoil you, and you just hate letting him have his way. too bad you were stuck with him now, though.

Did I tell y’all that my class did a “superlatives” thing? Like I never had that in high school or college or anything. But sga sent a google form out n asked people to vote stuff for other classmates.

And I was like ok another popularity contest. And I briefly worried that I would be nominated as greasiest, ugliest, weirdest, worst fashion/style, etc.

But they ended up doing one for everybody which whatever. And none of them were hateful so that’s something.

Mine was “most mysterious.” Like ofc I don’t care but I was like just say you don’t know me and let me go home. Its just a less rude way to call me the weirdest.

Other peoples had cute drawings on theirs and what not. I got scribbles and “the payback on yt” and I really don’t think it’s the James brown song. There’s a channel by that name but it is odd and has very few subs. And I srsly cant think of anything I’ve done to any of my classmates like I’ve never been mean to them or done smthn sneaky or literally anything. So I didn’t think that’s what they meant by payback. Also there was a picture of sunglasses and the yt channel uses those same glasses. I haven’t watched the vids but they look odd and maybe true crime which I don’t even like so I really don’t know. Insight welcome.

But anyway I would have preferred to have not gotten anything at all frankly. They didn’t have to include everybody. Just let it be the popularity contest it’s supposed to be. At least I didn’t overtly get called out and ik I’m the only person who remembers it.

Like I know I’m weird and off-putting and awkward in social situations but I mean… whatever idk what I expected

What’s weird is that I know at least two people who put me in for “best music taste” which was super sweet and that’s what I gotta focus on is the people who DO care to know me. But like if two people said that, why did you just… not use that? And instead actually think and work to come up with something to deliberately jab me. And the YouTube channel like idgi.

Kevin got most likely to answer every question correctly and idk why everyone loves him even tho he’s just as awkward as I am. Anyone I’ve talked to abt it says it’s bc he’s a guy. Like literally my therapist was like the hades gif “he’s a GUY!”

Mackenzie got “most likely to work in the ER” which, she hates the ER. But that is what she did for hours and I guess that’s the only thing ppl know abt her. I def think the two of us are on the bottom of the totem pole, but it doesn’t matter really cause it’s no big deal in the grand scheme, and this year I won’t be seeing anyone anyways. Plus there’s not as clearly defined social strata like high school.

Lowkey Mackenzie was trying to get in on my pity party about how no one cares about her either. And on one hand true igi but the other I was like,,, at least they knew SOMETHING about you to say… so let me have this lol.

So it’s whatever idc but I’m afraid that when I finish this rotation and any of my classmates get assigned to the office I’m at now… technically we’re not supposed to talk about each other in the clinical setting but. I have a feeling that one nurse in particular would talk to this theoretical classmate of mine and whoever it is will dump on me or whatever.

And I don’t dislike the nurse he’s just a kid so whatever but he’s also super smart in the same way kevin is. But even the other nurses or the other providers or anything! I KNOW I’ll never hear from them again but I’m scared that they’ll all talk about how weird I am. Or, to a slightly lesser degree, they’ll like my classmate a lot more than they like me and think they’re smarter than me and better w patients and not such a little crybaby. I really try to be nice at word and all that but I literally can’t help being weird like I’ve tried to be normal, but it’s so stressful bc I’m afraid people will see through it.

And I know: so what if people you’ll never see again think you’re weird? What’s the worst that could happen/whats it to you? And idk how to answer that because short of failing the rotation, that feels like the worst thing that could happen. Like if there was something I could actively do to prevent that I would. But like I said when I try, I get extremely stressed and frustrated and overwhelmed and depressed. Idk ig if the yt thing makes any sense to you, lmk.

well, i think im generally a quiet person ?? (but im funny as FUCK) i dont like talking a lot especially when its the morning but i really find solace in silence. im sure when someone gets to know me, id probably talk about so many random things. i dont think i have many friends and im sure the people who are somewhat close to me would say that im "a loud n extroverted person" though lol. i also write and draw when i have the time; i only write when theres something i want to say but would be weird if i said it outloud myself (idk if that makes sense im SO SORRYJFKD) i play the guitar and i care for a lot of plants too !! i have a TERRIBLE sleeping schedule but i never really get tired during the day. i fall asleep easily in class though lol. memes r what keeps me from losing my insanity LMFAOO. also idk if this would help but i associate akaashi with the song sparks by coldplay and i just cant express how much that song reminds me of akaashi. something about it makes me think of all the incredibly mundane things he'd do that would bring so much warmth to my heart.

and YES roman tickles vee a lot hsjshdhs you see it on the ic blog quite a lot - if they're hanging out they are actually pretty touchy feely. even when big vee usually ends up in romans lap and he will purposefully be cheeky because he knows roman ends up tickling him as revenge jdhds

just yesterday roman was holding the video game controller out of reach of virgil and fondly teasing him abt being too short to reach it, so vee twisted his septum piercing with his tongue to freak roman out. roman is very grossed out by things easily and dropped the controller to get vee to stop

vee started playing the video game, still sitting in romans lap with a smug smile on his little face... but he was kinda disappointed roman didn't put up more of a (tickle) fight.

so he licked romans cheek

roman freaked out, went to scrub his cheek withm soap, compained on the blog about vee being gross and 'baby snot on his face', then vee just denied it all (purposefully being cheeky to try to get roman to retaliate) until roman started chasing him for revenge

they ended up in virgils room with roman pinning him to the floor. virgil THOUGHT roman was going to lick his cheeks back, but instead roman asked him to admit he did it. virgil denied it and roman started wiggling a finger under his ear

vee squeaked and a giggle escaped

"admit it!" roman demanded

of cours vee knew what would happen if he didnt. so: "no, im innocent!"

then romans other hand circled a finger around the side of his ribs. virgil gasped and started giggling constantly and wriggling under roman

"Last chance, vee-vee!" roman warns with eyebrows raised and a big smile

virgils gigges are squeaky and breathless already, he really is too sensitive for a lot of tickling. but he meets romans eyes for a brief second before they fall shut with another gasp when romans finger brushes a particularly bad tickle spot. "n-no-ho" virgil protests... then he licks his deptum piercing again just to add fuel to the fire

roman cries out in disgust then immediately starts scribbling both his hands quickly over the sides of virgils.

virgil screams and bucks and gasps and blushes so hard

at this point logan appears in the doorway to check what is happening

"h-help, lo-ho" virgil pleads, eyes watering and cheeks aching from laughing so much

"no, don't help Lo!" roman argues, chuckling at vee and kindly slowing his fingers enough to give vee room to breathe between giggles "this is justice for a heinous act!"

logan sniffs in amusement, "well i am not one to stand in the way of justice"

virgils eyes fly open and land on logan "no! pl-hee-he-ease, M-ha-Mama!"

hearing vee call logan mama immediately makes roman stop his fingers, because if vee is starting to regress theres no way he would enjoy such intense tickling

logan steps closer and leans down to better speak to vee. "are you alright, little one?" he asks in a very babytalk voice, then roman stops pinning him and pinches his cheek a little

"hi vee-vee, do you feel tiny?"

and virgil goess BRIGHT RED because he isnt regressing at all, he just used the Mama card to try to get logan to feel sorry for him. he covers his face with his hands and shakes his head and mumbles through his fingers "not little, sorry... just wanted.."

the other two frown. "wanted what, virgil" logan asks.

"do you want me to stop?" roman asks sincerely

virgil wriggles on the floor a little and pulls his hand down from his face enough to chew his thumbnail and reveal one eye and one very pink cheek "no.. just wanted, um... attention" he admits quietly

roman immediately lights up "Ohhhhhh-"

vee whines and covers his face again. roman takes his hands and pulls them away. "let me get this right... did you want more teases?"

vee's silence speaks loudly

"oh my god youre insatiable" roman laughs, but before virgil has time to feel insecure about it roman's fingers start teasing at his ribs again

"i think you have this under control," logan chuckles, then leaves.

"so teasing how tiny you are earier wasn't enough?" roman muses, his fingernails tracing lightly over each individual rib. virgil holds his lips tight to contain a squeal, but it just comes out as a highpitched whimper. "its not enough to just tease how your little arms can't reach when i hold a controller above my head?"

virgil cant respond because one of romans fingers is back under his ear and tickling right under his earlobe and making him titter and squirm

"and i dont think its enough to tease what an itty bitty widdle baby you are, either," roman says in a babytalk voice, laughing when vee whines and tries to hide his red cheeks but then roman pokes his tummy teasingly and vee immediately drops his hands to his tummy protectively. "because we all know what a tiny little cutie you are, with your baby bottles and pacis and your diapers"

"ro-ah!" virgil tried to protest but romans fingers went for the sides of his tummy and all he can do is gasp and wriggle and giggle and hope his cheeks dont catch fire with how much theyre burning

"so i think we'll just stick with teasing you... for how much you love being teased" roman says confidently

"nooo" virgil whines between breathless laughter

"yes, vee-vee" roman laughs. he's drawing little spirals over vee's sides now and it's making vee writhe and squeal

"you love the teases sooo much, how adorable is that, huh?" romans fingers slow down and atart tiptoeing over vee's ribs one by one like theyre stepping stones

vee gasps in a deep breath and lets himself calm down, all while squeaking and smiling so hard

"you pretend to not like it when we tease you for being the shortest, but everytime you get the biggest smile!" romans fingers go up so one wriggles under his ear again and one scribbles at his cheek. vee squeals and shakes his head

"no?!" roman gasps dramatically, "aw, but it's true vee! youre tiny and you love it! and you cant hide it anymore with those cute dimples popping out and your squeaky laughter whenever i hold something out of reach..."

virgils far gone from talking now. he's a flustered giggly mess

"hm and what about how much you love tickles? thats pretty adorable too you know" romans fingers go back to his ribs to circle around slowly and vee instantly curls up, legs bent up to his chest and accidentally trapping romans fingers there

"see!" roman laughs "you love being tickle tickle tickled so much you wont let me take my hands away!" he scribbles his fingers quickly now and vee squeals and rocks on the floor and gasps but his legs still hold romans hands there.

"n-n-no d-doh-ho--"

"no you don't?" roman guesses and virgil nods, eyes squint shut tight with laughter. "yes you do~" roman teases with a sing song babytalk voice. it makes virgils chest feel melty. "you love the tickles vee! Little vee is a little tickly cutie, aren't you?~"

virgil squeaks and gasps. romans fingers slow down and vee breathes through his giggles for a few moments. he's getting to his limit now

"cmon, vee~" roman sings and wiggles his hand sout from between virgils chest and knees. virgil squeals even tho roman wasnt trying to tickle him. roman laughs "if you admit you love teases and tickles then i'll stop"

it takes a couple of minutes for vee to be ready - both because he is so breathless and he keeps getting interrupted by giggle fits even though roman isnt touching him anymore, which just makes roman laugh too - but eventually virgil opens his eyes, squinting past tears of laughter and not bothering to hide his hot cheeks anymore and admits under his breath "i- i um i like being... teased and - and tickled"

"yeah you do" roman agrees with a big smug smile, then he gets up and helps pull vee up from the floor - vee's knees are wobbly and he collapses a little into roman when he is standing and they both laugh and roman keeps an arm around vee's shoulders when they go back to his room to carry on with the video game.

"that wasnt too much, was it?" roman asks a bit meekly after several minute of gameplay.

virgil looks iver to him and sees he refuses to take his eyes off the screen. romans fingers are fidgeting a bit with the controller even though its a cutscene on the screen.

"no," vee whispers, then lets himself wiggle back into romans lap like they'd been before. he looks at the screen as well and breathes deeply when romans arms circle around him. he feels secure and safe in his big brothers lap. "it was perfect" he admits quietly, stroking his fingers over romans arms

Sorry not for bein active, I’m working on two requests atm and little other stuff

But I want to go on a few small rants because I’m allowed to. Skip this if you’d like, I tend to ramble a lot so this helps me.

I’m so sick of people writing mlm shit, and being idiots about it. Stop using m/n. Why cant you use y/n? If it’s male reader, shouldn’t ‘your name’ be used instead of ‘male name’? Seems like you are letting female aligned people fetishize mlm.

I hate people that talk like, “oh ma gwad, uwu, owo, etc.” Grow up you ‘depressed’ 10 year old gacha kid. You’re annoying as fuck.

Women with children that breastfeed them in public. It makes people around very uncomfortable! Not because you have one of your breasts out to feed your child, it’s just very uncomfortable. If you’re in public, go to a private place and breastfeed them. Or bottle feed them. There’s so many alternatives.

When writing, please stop making readers seem as though they’re more feminine than the character. I’ve been reading like things abt some captains earlier, and they kept making, as they called reader, ‘m/n’, seemingly a short petite, feminine boy. As if they’re trying to push the heterosexual norm on gay people. They also kept putting that because a guy wheres ‘feminine’ clothing, means he’s gay. No. If a guy wants to wear a something society deems as ‘feminine’, he can without being told he’s gay! This is coming from a trans femboy. So, take from this what you will.

Cis straight women, especially ones that watch anime, stop sexualizing/ fetishizing mlm! Just incase ppl dont know, fetishizing is to make a fetish out of something, or to be irrationally or excessively devoted to an object, activity, etc. Fetishization in this case is when non mlm individuals obsess over gay men. There are often negative stereotypes being spread such as, like mentioned in a previous rant, “femboy x dominate strong man”. This pushes heteronormativity on us. Fetishization isn’t allyship. Gay and mlm relationships are not there for your consumption and for you to sexualize, and we’re not your pleasure for non mlm ppl to get off to. Fetishization isn’t drawing two men hugging, kissing. It’s not thinking a gay pairing is cute and the dynamic is fun. It’s not fetishization to support us. Fetishization is making us an object of pleasure, only seeing us in a sexual light, forcing heteronormativity into context between two men. When it’s a man watching lesbian porn or getting off to wlw, it’s wrong and fetishization right? But when women watch gay porn it’s often overlook and brushed off. Why is that? Furthermore, I guarantee no gay man wants to follow you around and say “yaaaas Queen!” And give you fashion and relationship advice. We aren’t your pleasure. We aren’t your gay best friend. We’re humans just like you.

Stop calling dicks ‘members’, you sound like you’re fucking 11 and cant come to curse because your parents say not to. Childish and immature.

Clothing shouldn’t be divided in ‘genders’. Women can wear pants and shirts, but a man can’t wear a dress or skirt? A trans man, and nonbinary person should not be told they can’t wear ‘feminine’ clothing because that makes them female. It’s a piece of fabric for fucks sake???? Many cultures have men wearing clothing designed like skirts and dresses, so why cant someone identifying as anything other than female wear one?

I feel like the first time I read thru I like this arc a lot cause I actually understood most of it hbvhadjkfbaksjf unlike all the previous stuff, where I was a bit more confused - at this point I at least had a decent grasp on the characters and relationships, so that helped a lot

also apparently one of the songs of this issue is ‘heaven’ by talking heads which AUghhH that song makes me wanna float in the ocean and look at the stars. idk. also I find it a little ironic that that song isn't off the album remain in light lol

either way I love this issue, strong start to the arc with lots of intrigue and worldbuilding, and clearly some incoming status quo changes...cant wait!!

uagh cw for more food and body and money talk, cant readdmore sorry

if I could stop having a stupid weekly-or-more crisis about various aspects of my health, diet, body, that'd be great, anyway still on iron tablets, still losing vision sometimes but no longer EVERY time my head changes altitude lol, have been having consistent breakfast and dinner, and fruit inbetween, but I really wish I could afford lunch in there. I mean I don't really think much of lunch (most annoying meal to arrange imo) but hhh I miss having the option lmao. I miss easy bread lunch, also realised this week I'm losing my ass (which for the record is known to be damn fine - and it used to be a point of dysmorphia, but now I'm actually saddened by the loss, because life is hell I guess,) and I've realised this evening that aside from the recent eating struggles in GENERAL, I'm also no longer having 8 fucken slices of toast every day (I used to have 4 at once (2 w peanut butter, 2 w butter,) for breakfast, then that again in the afternoon either for lunch or in addition to lunch, plus still havin dinner hahah so the fact im no longer having like all that bread... that's probs a factor in the ass equation) anyway I miss getting free bread or any bread I'm also outta peanut butter though and thats the real killer cost ugh maybe tomorrow I will just get some, the payment from the barista job trial will happen At Some Point Soonish, so I can justify little a loafa bread n pb

again. I just. hate this all drawing my focus so much this last month. I keep thinking abt the fairly bad internal fear reaction I have to any talk of di3ts and w3ight loss - even just trying to consciously eat more of Everything, definitely no resrictions or anything like that, unsettles me, makes me more "aware" of nutrition on a given day than I want to be, I don't like this so Im sorry I keep talking about it

(side note dont even get me started on the virus aspect of everything. my perspective of it is very selfish because im focused on the potential inconvenience it could pose to me. trying to get a job in hospo as we speak so putting myself in the line of fire [edit: LOL one of the lines of fire I mean obvs actual health workers are out there fhfhf) out of necessity. plus living week to week rn (dsy to day?) straight up can't afford to stockpile, thus nor could I easily self quarantine if it comes to it. health is a bit better than a month ago but I still think a hard hittin virus could do a number on me and if I had to stay inside I would just? not have food available? I mean that's dramatic I'd actually probably go sook and quarantine at my mums and get the entire house infected so I wouldn't actually die in my home in some valiant effort to spare the general populace from me but yeah. Ugh. Whatever.)

his father was a pub landlord and his mother worked at the market sellin fruit n veg when they met but got a job as a medical receptionist when she had kids cos it meant she cld be there with them in the day and work nights.

his parents met when they were p young and fiesty and rushed into marriage cos they were catholic n just wanted to have sex. his family were literally dirt-poor, but they had a lot of love i guess

hmmmmm his relationship w his father wasn’t the best cos i can’t write character who have healthy relationships w their parents throws up a peace sign. yh, had a pretty emotionally distant, alcoholic violent father n so gets a lot of his bad habits i.e. drinking as a coping mechanism and poor anger management from him BUT anyway

as a kid he was never very motivated in class, he always had a nervous itch to be off somewhere doing something else. struggled under government austerity bcso there just wasn’t the resources to support low income families where the kids had learning difficulties n needed support. fuck the tories am i right

his mum suggested he try sports to help w his restless energy but he was never any good at football so he took up boxing and tap dance instead. he took to tap dancing like a fish to fuckin water. as adhd n found this as a really good way to use his excess energy in a creative way

had a few run ins with the police in his early teens for spray painting and graffiti, but he straightened himself out n now actually considering becoming a detective inspector??? cops are pigs.

he had a youtube channel where he posted videos of him tapdancing and breakdancing as a kid, basically would be a tiktok boy nowadays, n had like... a small fanbase in his early teens. attended several open auditions unsuccessfully, until he was finally cast in billy eliot when he was fifteen.

during billy eliot he began dating an italian dancer called nina. they became dance partners soon after and toured across the republic with various different shows (inc riverdance lol the classic irish stereotype). their relationship was p toxic tbh, they were both very hot tempered people and just used to argue and fight all the time.

he went semi-pro at tap dancing, and nina couldn’t stand being second best so she moved back to italy with her family. ignored his texts, phone calls, etc, eventually he was driven to the point where he used his savings to buy a plane ticket, showed up at her house and she was like wtf?? freaked out and filed a restraining order accusing him of stalking.

he was fined for harassment and then returned home to derry, but after the incident with nina he quit dancing for good and finished his leaving cert before heading to university in the US to get as far away from nina and his past life as poss. and basically since he quit dancing to study forensics (death kink. finn cant get enough of that morgue. just walks around sayin beat u) he’s become a massive grump and jsut doesn’t see the good in people any more.

u’ll find finn in an old man bar drinking whiskey bc he is in fact an old man at heart or sat on his roof smoking a joint, drawing wolves and lions and skeletons and shit, playing call of duty or getting blazed or at the corner of the room in a house party ignoring everyone and scrolling through twitter. is a massive e-boy. always up-to-date on memes and internet slang. has reddit as an app on his phone

not very good at communication. rather than solve his issues by talking, he’d prefer to just solve them through fighting or running away from his problems hence why he has come halfway across the world to get away from an issue which probs cld have been solved w a few apology emails.

his calling finally came unexpectedly, not in the form of rugger, but through dance. to learn to express himself in a non-academic way, he began tap dancing, finding therapy in the beat of his soles against the cracked kitchen tiles (much to his mother’s disgrace). it wasn’t a conscious choice, finn just realised one day that dance was something that made him feel. a king of the streets, finn made his fortune on those cobbled pavements – dancing and drawing to earn his keep. by default, finn became a street artist, each penny he earned from his chalk drawings saved in a jam jar towards buying his first pair of tap shoes. though many of his less-than-amiable neighbours called him a nancy and a gaybo, finn refused to quit at his somewhat ‘unconventional’ hobby, for the young scrapper found energy, life, and released anger through the rhythm of tap. soon he branched out into street dance, hip hop, break dancing, lyrical, his days spent smacking his scuffed feet against the broken patio into the night.

when he was thirteen he took up boxing, and as expected, his newfound ‘macho’ pastime conflicted with his dancing. the boxers called him ‘soft’; the dancers called him ‘inelegant’. he felt like two different people; having to choose between interests was like being handed a knife and asked to which half of himself he wished to cut away. he couldn’t afford professional training in dance, with most schools based in england and limited scholarships available. instead, he made the street his studio, racking up a small fanbase on youtube. when he was fifteen he made his debut in billy eliot at the olympia theatre in dublin. enter nina de souza, talented, beautiful and italian; ballet dancer, operatic singer, genius whiz kid, and spoiled brat. she was selfish, conceited, hell bent on getting her own way, and every director’s nightmare. finn fell for her like a house of cards. he’d always had a soft spot for girls who meant trouble. and so their hellish courtship began.

by the time they were seventeen, the two young swans had danced in every playhouse across the republic. they were known in theatres across the country for their tempestuous personalities, their raging arguments with one another, their tendency to drop out of shows altogether without any notice, yet the money kept rolling in and the audiences continued to grow. for three years, their families continued to put up with their hysterical fights followed by passionate reconciliations. he was too possessive, and she was too wild. their carcrash of a relationship finally came to a catastrophic halt when nina broke off the whole affair and returned to italy with her family. for months finn tried to contact her, yet his phone calls, texts, facebook messages were always ignored, until finally he was driven to drastic measures and used his savings to get a plane to her home town. when finn turned up uninvited at nina’s house she freaked out – and rightly so – she contacted her agent, accused him of stalking her, and had a restraining order placed against him. finn was arrested, held in a station overnight, and charged with harassment before he was allowed to return to dublin.

after the incident with nina, finn lost the fight in his eyes. he became far more hostile, far less likely to retaliate with his own fists, and picked fights not for the thrill of feeling his own fists pummel another into a wall, but for the sensation of his own brittle bones cracking. he dropped his tap shoes in a dumpster, stopped talking to his friends, followed his father’s advice and went back to school to complete his leaving certificate. a few short months later, and finn was packing his bags, saying his bittersweet goodbyes, and travelling half-way across the globe to be as far away as possible from his past self, his mess of a life, and most of all nina. it seemed somehow ironic that the boy who had been cautioned by the garda so much during his youth for spray painting, busking without a liscence, and raucous parties would become the grumpy, aloof overseas student studying a degree in criminology; that his once reckless spirit could be crushed so easily.

of all things that finn could be called, straightforward would never be one of them. ever since his first days in atticus, the boy was pegged as hostile, hot-headed, cynical, rude. he seemed to spend more time in his thoughts than engaging in conversation. like a ticking time-bomb, finn’s anger was of the calm kind, liable to explode without a moment’s noticed. his unpredictable personality make him something of an enigma to those who aren’t amiable with the lad, though hostile as he may appear, he harvests a good heart. loyalty lies at the centre of his affections, and whilst his friends are few in number, he makes a lifelong partner. somewhere within finn, there’s still some fight left, but mostly he has recognised that his hedonistic lifestyle did little to leave him fulfilled – mostly, it just emptied him out – and over his three years at university has resigned himself to a nihilistic predicament.

Double Dying Wish Verse

Have to preface this with the warning this is the blocking out stage that comes well before any finishing stuff, it’s 3 different docs shoved into one post (hence why the last bit kinda repeats itself), but I’m sick as hell so just take it author notes to myself and all. will probably clean up in distant future, but until then...

im just really proud of the concept, okay. the execution of the rest may or may not leave something to be desired, though. :p

Lewis’s dying wish is to not let his beloved remember this… except oops it catches Arthur too, bc mutually pining ot3 is my jam. vivi being so much closer gets hit so hard to the point of not knowing him at all, art is further away so he doesn't remember the cave, but more specifically Lewis death.

it absolves mystery of being a complete dickwad and not telling Arthur this search he's killing himself over is in vain, bc every time he says anything about lew being dead art blanks out and can't hear it (glowy light eyes included)

the thing is Arthur is actually mentally unable to comprehend the idea of Lewis being dead. it's not denial, not naivety, the death magic literally short circuits his brain when the idea is even brought up. then he's totally out of it for hours and has massive migraines and he just wants to find Lewis because Lewis will make the pain go away Lewis will make it all better he just needs to find him.

mystery calls home, explain to lance what happened, (maybe skips a few things) while driving to place heli can pick up

later when art wakes and can't connect Lew being dead, mystery sees spirit sparks and tells lance and pepper parents what happened

eventually when art is chomping at the bit to go and “find” Lewis, mystery assures he'll keep them safe, and if they do by chance find his spirit he can hopefully put an end to the curse. art will probably go mad otherwise cooped up when he thinks Lew is in trouble alone somewhere, and may do something rash without them instead if they don't.

(tells vi art is looking for the person she can't remember, but because of the same magic the man doesn't realize the being is dead by his possessed hand?

she makes connection after mansion based on behavior of ghost, tender to her but almost sole focus on Arthur. doesn't voice to Arthur obv but asks mystery.)

yes- now vi knows who ghost was and connects dots from what art recollects from ghost truck (he doesn't believe it was really Lew so no worry abt painting bad light of it, she fumes and hates this former boyfriend even more

tells lance herself, he has his own suspicions based on Arthur's first recount of what happened to him with the ghost, he deserves to know and mystery is gone with shiromori.

vents and rants to the older mechanic because she's so upset about it, and how horrible this supposed friend is to someone working so hard to HELP him, and she DATED such a horrible person and-!

lew in the background super confused at first bc doesn't she remember him? gets upset and angry bc it must be Arthur's fault somehow!

art overhears tho, goes into meltdown bc she hates Lewis? but he's the best kindest gentle person and- no offense Arthur but she's not the most persuaded by his arguments after the guy had literally thrown you off a cliff -what no he didn't what are you talking about no the ghost wasn't Lewis couldn't be Lewis stop sAYING THAT IT HURTS IT HURTS LEWIS MAKE IT STOP

Lew shocked, scared at the sheer magic buildup hurting the thin man (maybe Arthur's subconscious reinforced or made magic stronger?), and now so ashamed bc if vi can't remember him then just based on his past actions involving her as a spirit he can't refute a single point she has against him

only thing be can even try is to help Arthur even weak as he is, repent even a modicum of what he's put him through, now he knows just what art had done for him and-

Art knows weak spirit is in house, tiny ouija board (tealight, paper with yes/no/”?”, and planchette) - writes/asks y/n question, takes lew hours to move the token to the right spot bc so weak, like kitten trying to push a boulder.

Lew stuck as less than a deadbeat, just wisp following arthur around bc ??????? wtf angry but things not making sense and biding time until REVENGEEEEE and eventually watching art suffer and not knowing why and being concerned and aaaaaaaaaaa-

Occasionally gets caught in little spirit traps around the house, art always lets him go bc blond cant imagine any spirits esp that weak being dangerous. Angry bc theyre scared yes, the traps sense negative emotions, but all deserve better chance and he wants to help

Lew sees the negative side of hunt hidden from vi and lance and mystery

Arm pains pills nightmares beating self up having panic attacks crying sobbing for lewis breaking down at the peg board bc he knows something important he knows is missing but he cant. figure. out. WHAT.

was just reminded of this good thread i saw the other week from an artist i follow on twitter

she was talking abt how its some bullshit &/or someone caring more abt their power trip than giving the best art advice/education they can whenever someone’s stance is that studying or being inspired by anything from anime/manga is Bad Art Technique and useless and etc etc etc

and first of all a related tangent, it reminds me of this Other thread months n months ago where ppl were talking abt whats even meant anymore when we say Anime. like, obv it’s like “japanese animation” but if its simply animated in japan does that count. if it is of the Same Style but developed somewhere in the west do we call it anime. etc

but anyways yknow she was saying that its a lie to pretend Real Artists will never study / draw from anime/manga; coz like yeah sure maybe if ur a glassblower but as for “Industry” art jobs, yeah actual they do? tf

and if you aren’t learning art w the intent to be a Professional, then you can learn from whatever you want, and again—even ppl who ARE pros are gonna ref this shit and all

and then also she was saying w regards to Young Artists or anyone else just getting started on their snart journey, that its super counterproductive to be all “never learn from anime” like it’s an awful starting point when its like...no fucking shit if anyone is copying screenshots of any cheaply animated show its not like its gonna result in anything amazing; and if anyone learns from any kind of cartoon / stylized art then theyre gonna be in the same situation, theres no need to single out Anime Ruins Ur Art or w/e. like, y’know, oh don’t use impressionism as a starting point b/c then you’ll never learn how to paint photorealistically like

there’s no ONE STYLE and everyone’s starts somrwhere and is derived from a lot of influences and grows and evolves. unless really your only goal is strictly photorealism. but even if it IS; everyone has to get interested in art somehow to even start practicing or whatever, so whatever is someone’s inspiration/motivation to get them going...why stop them

like ppl who are older and go “i can’t draw” and they mean that they’re not GOOD at drawing, but also that this means they actually arent even allowed to draw? like fuck that. and then they’ll feel like they couldnt even start learning if they wanted to. and tbh even kids like beyond 7 yrs old start to sort themselves into who can draw well and who can’t

like if ppl start drawing b/c of their vaporeon fanart then what freaking ever

and ppl who want to draw more will be self-motivated to learn how to draw better. you’ll find out about all the Advanced-er art elements/techniques and you’ll WANT to learn more abt that shit. if ppl want to become more advanced they will. they’ll wanna draw from more and more sources and be interested in art more generally.

plus, like, you’re always gonna learn some real techniques even from drawing vaporeon. for stylized art / cartoons to even work and be Good it’s still gotta be based on these art fundamentals. and yeah when you’re little you just see it as kinda copying lines and all but then if you want even just your vaporeon to improve, you’ll learn shit other than trying to transfer one image onto the page or whatevs

i mean that’s basically me. my motivation for drawing for basically ever was to make fanart, and that’s still all i wanna draw for. but i still want to try to make my art improve as much as it can and the development over the years and even looking at it in like 2-3 month windows is noticeable. b/c u make art enough and you’ll want it to get better and it does

also i mean i never had a naruto phase like all you fuckin emos but i was alive and so of course some anime / manga inspired me to draw / influenced my style, and also i’m alive w the art of ppl who were alive from the 60s on so THEY’RE art has been influenced by anime/manga and so is mine when it is influenced from THAT. like, anime was stylistically derived from western animation in the first place, and then of course it’d be influenced right back. and then there’s the fact that there’s, like, im embarrassed i cant think of the japanese guy who did the original character designs for scooby doo. all those olden cartoons are alreay technically anime influenced. is scooby doo an anime

and then, y’know, it just gets down to being needlessly shitty. like “oh the anatomy isn’t realistic” or “its too simplified” or “____ doesn’t work like that irl!! NEVER DO ____” or “if you draw the [choose stylized umn...what do you call it when u invent a visual language to depict something more intangible or whatever or for dramatic effect....i say “its a figure of speech” but yknow] you are contributing to the downfall of art itself” etc etc etc as if Clearly Anime Influenced Stylistic Maneuvers is all bad and awful and you’ll have to unlearn it aaaaahhh

whennn actuallllyy you could say all that shit about equivalent elements in western comics/cartoons/pop art. but nobody much does that (at least not with all the “NEVER EVER EVER DO ___” or the other kinds of implications that this is awful and will ruin your art forever and is an objective sin” like again if you’re not trying to teach someone ONLY realism maybe take it easy. there’s not really any true hard and fast forever unvreakable Art Rules. and to single this one sort of “newer” mm “Foreigner” style is. pretty crappy

and pretty pointless and often counterproductive and or just. not even true

and so anyways the point is that yeah its anime draw what you like to draw and go from there and you really can’t Avoid any anime-derived influence and why tf would you want to. hmm

#tbh i think a lot of my sort of...early Stylized style (coz i did also have a fairly realism-leaning approach) was derived from...newspaper #comics #and then uhhh lemme think. throw in some tv shows; including some that were obv anime-influenced #MOST of all tbh ive always been inspired by seeing ppls fanart so thats a big range of styles to draw from and guess what #lotta anime influence floating around there. everyones influences converge and evolve into smthing different #and in recent yrs (like the past decade) theres been a lot more of like Online Artists n webcomics n blogs n shit to marvel over #and those’re my main influences (some book illustrators also and other miscellaneous sources) and along the way #as you get better its easier to consciously guide and tweak your style n try new things and know what you like and what you don’t #i kinda love to look back and see myself trying out / gravitating towards shit thats now p much a permanent part of my style #me going :| thinking abt various ‘tutorials’ for General Art Shit that specifically single out anime/manga style shit as Bad No-No’s like #fffgghh that could be a billion other Unrealistic shortcuts. why waste this section on Things To Never Do when its more like. hey look at #shit around you irl and be guided by these general concepts #maybe don’t be like ‘’so; never use these shortcuts!!!’’ and then turn around and be like ‘’use these shortcuts instead’’ like ok but
