welp time to rant about my bg3 oc! working on some art for them too but that'll be another post

still can't put shit under a cut on mobile so i'll edit that in later

Name: N'wen (i'm borrowing a name from another oc of mine)

Race: Seldarine Drow

Class: Druid

Pronouns: They/Them

Personality: Bit on the stoic side, master of deadpan humor, is blunt and has no patience for sugar coating, usually makes the kind choices but not always for altruistic reasons (ex: if they do a favor for someone here, they might receive a favor later on), however they are a survivor first and is always ready to defend themself

Backstory: N'wen was born and raised in the Underdark. When they were young, however, their family was murdered by a recently turned vampire spawn. N'wen would have died too, had the vampire not come to her senses after draining a third of their blood.

N'wen got to watch the vampire weep over them as she stemmed the bleeding, telling them to survive so they could avenge their family. Other Drow eventually found them, and the vampire didn't even fight back when they killed her. N'wen remembers the name she gave them; Cazador.

As soon as N'wen had healed and grown large enough to escape to the surface, they fucked right on out of the Underdark. It's been a long, long time since then, and N'wen since discovered a terror of the dark, of places underground. Strange, considering their heritage, but even now they still feel nauseated at the notion of entering caves and tunnels.

And so they lived the rest of their life in the wilds, a hermit Drow self-estranged from their own culture. They learn everything about nature, wildlife, how every species provides a balance to all life. Being a hermit isolates them from large communities, but they learn new skills from any traveler willing to teach (though it was often learned by fighting off those with a distrust for drows)

A few wandering druids taught N'wen what they needed about the class, and offered to bring them back to their circle. N'wen refused at first, but followed them later, promising only to stay until they've mastered enough to figure the rest on their own. And they did, returning to their wanderings of the wilds and occasionally visiting druid circles as they went.

N'wen had no interest in worshipping gods, preferring instead to honor the individual forces of nature themselves. They care little about whether the wind or the sun or the earth had sentience, only that their silent yet powerful voices are respected.

Life in the wilds helped them come to terms with their past. They couldn't bring themself to hate the vampire that destroyed their life before. They gradually came to realize, after observing the relationships of predator and prey (as well as experiencing times of hunger and scarcity) that vampires were as much a part of life's balance as anyone else. She'd been starving, mad enough with hunger to lash out and sustain herself. N'wen saw this often enough among animals, and sometimes even other people.

If a wolf, alone and starving, attacks and kills one's sheep, is it worth one's hatred?

N'wen forgot the name she'd given them, having spent years running from that horrific memory. But even if they remembered, they weren't certain they'd want to pursue vengeance. They'd found peace in the wilds, and the vampire and the family she'd killed were long dead and buried.

They did, however, start carrying around medical kit containing needles, a tourniquet, and specially made tubes. The next hungry vampire they come across wouldn't need to mutilate their flesh; a simple "please" and N'wen would be more than willing to draw their own blood as a gift. This was not out of generosity, of course. It was, pure and simple, a survival strategy. A hungry vampire was dangerous, but a sated one could be reasoned with. A bit of blood was worth those few extra minutes.

And then they woke up on an unfamiliar ship, received an unwanted passenger, and, upon escape, fell into an acquaintance with a group of very strange folk.

The moment they looked into the red eyes of a pale elf not bothering to hide his fangs, however, very nearly prompted them to hightail it out of there, as far away as they could.

But, above all else, N'wen was a survivor. They couldn't leave with this tadpole still intact.

It took time to push past the old fears and speak with their new vampire colleague. Astarion claimed to be a magistrate, which the others seemed to accept, though the frequent moments where he alluded to his true nature without directly revealing himself made N'wen wonder if the rest of their companions were just dense.

Strangely enough, it was when Astarion asked how they'd prefer he kill them should they start to transform that allowed N'wen to relax. They'd nearly told him "You can drain me", but were surprised enough at the thought that they held back. A knife would do.

Strange, that a trust formed with the vampire the moment they understood he could absolutely kill them and would if the worst should happen.

Strange, that of all their companions, the vampire was with whom they felt most understood.

so i met the prince of madness, discovered some Weird Shit, and made another character despite never using the second one i already made

SO I WENT ON A MISSION WITH FARKAS AND UH

APPARENTLY MY FRIENDS HAVE BEEN WEREWOLVES ALL ALONG. THE MORE YOU FUCKIN KNOW

i legit did not see this coming at ALL but im a lil annoyed that i got tricked into joining the werewolves but seem to not be allowed to join vampires (i know if you get attacked by a vampire you have a chance of catching vampirism from them but like. vampires are mostly just Enemies like bandits or w/e)

farkas says the. silver hand or whatever they’re called are “bad people who don’t like werewolves” but arent they doing the same thing the dawnguard are doing. i dont understand the werewolf/vampire lore in this at all like

vampires are mostly just enemies, there’s a league dedicated to hunting them who seem to be mostly considered heroes, the guards mention these hunters positively, they recruit openly in whiterun

vampires seem to be pretty universally hated and considered evil

but the companions, a pretty highly respected guild, are all werewolves (it’s probably not totally common knowledge, but they are, ) the werewolf hunters are depicted as the bad guys, every werewolf ive met so far has been a friendly npc / at least someone you can hold a conversation with, while every vampire has been just an Enemy

the companions seem to be able to control their werewolf powers and transform at will rather than randomly, but the guy in falkreath cant control it and murdered a child/is outcast by society

so i guess “its ok to be a werewolf If you can control it” seems to be the verdict here but then i havent seen anyone claiming its ok to be a vampire if you can control it?? i dont know skyrim’s vampire rules but usually they’re able to survive on animal blood or by like, consensual feeding that doesnt take enough to kill the host. werewolves and vampires both can’t necessarily help what they are but it seems like way more of a choice to become a werewolf. i guess vampires Have to drink blood and werewolves dont Have to hurt people but they cant. help that

idk theres some weird double standards going on here and as a person who loves vampires and doesnt care for werewolves im just :/

anyways she wants to be a powerful mage, has No morals, wants to kill every last imperial for what they (almost) did to her, but doesnt really support the stormcloaks either, just supports Herself and Chaos

shes not trying to just Murder Literally Everyone In Her Path but like. is basically looking for Any excuse to kill someone. doesnt want either side to win. just wants to watch the world burn. probably going to join and betray Both sides

i dont remember why i murdered a guard (i remember it was in belethor’s shop so i probably tried to steal something and failed) but anyway, i murdered a guard, and can just like. walk around town wearing the clothes i stole off his corpse and nobody minds

they minded very much that i killed him lmao but i gave up trying to fight the guards bc more kept coming so i just took the jail time and now im forgiven, I Guess,

seems like owning a full set of guard armor, which includes a helmet that obscures your face completely, would be a great way to disguise yourself to do crimes but i dont seem to be recognized as a guard wearing this/people still know who you are somehow

im not sure how much awareness npcs have of what you’re wearing like i get comments about my stuff sometimes (’lightly armored means light on your feet! smart!’ ‘favor the bow, eh? im a sword man myself’) but then no one seems to care if im walking around wearing vampire armor and a weird cultist mask, so

He'd probably also wreck some kid at ddr and then we'd spend an hour on the chance games trying to win 1000 tickets and be jealous of the 12 year old next to us who has like 6000 friggin tickets,, we'd come up wih theories on how the kid hacked the games and got thAt many tickets bc ?? they're riGGed man ur not actually supposed to win. After the arcade we'd probably go get shakes and then sit outside and talk about our favorite books and what they mean to us and stuff. Watch the stars and tell funny stories and maybe just take a walk. At some point i'd probably step on a rolly polly and cry bc i just killed an innocent little bug and minghao wld be like "wtf,,, get up hoe,," and then I feel like we'd end up just like sitting on a bench somewhere n talkin about deep things bc we both seem like we're kinda like that?? Idk I know I like talking about the universe and how the world works and things thay dont make sense to me and hes pretty Woke so he probably does too. It'd be a gt tho

ANYWAY BACK TO THE PURPOSE OF THIS POST OTHER THAN TO SAY ALL OF YOU ARE AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL AND DESERVE ALL THE LOVE IN THE WORLD

Okay, so because of this, I’m going to be hosting a little fic thing. I need you all to send me one character from the list below. I also have a very small list of groups of about three prompts and one for pairs of AUs so choose a number/letter~! ALSO, CHOOSE WHETHER I WRITE MYSELF IN. I’m tempted to but it might be better if i don’t.

It’ll go until the end of February FOR AUSTRALIA (aka the 28th for this side of the planet and the 27th for the other side of the planet i think thats how it works) say, 12 am on 28th->1st?? idk i’ll post something when it ends.

P.S. some of these prompts and such have been found on the internet somewhere bc I lost my own list T_T

P.P.S You might notice further down that there’s options for Saeyoung & 707 as well as Saeran & Unknown. This is because I am willing to write for Saeyoung - where he is a little more serious in comparison to 707 where he jokes a lot. They’ll both be joking and stuff but Saeyoung just a bit less. This is the same for Unknown/Saeran - Saeran will be a little more timid and Unknown will be… well, how he is. I don’t mean to give out too many spoilers, but if you’ve played to the end (or at least Seven’s After End) then you might know what I’m talking about.

HOW VOTING WILL WORK:

I’ll be judging the voting by four categories.

Basically, whichever character gets the most votes will win that category, whichever group of prompts gets the most votes will win in that category and whichever AU gets the most votes will win in that category.

M/W/M/I is where you either vote ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. (It stands for ‘me writing myself in’). Very simple really. If any of them get even amounts of votes, I’ll get my sister to decide or something.
