BIZARRE QUESTION but my coworker has this sticker she got as a freebie from a random Etsy order and no one can figure out what it is. I swear it's some kind of Jim Henson/Fraggle Rock/Dark Crystal kind of character but so far no luck.
Tumblr media
Sorry for the weird cropping it's on her water bottle. It might just be someone's original character but if anyone has any idea who this weird little guy is I would love your assistance.

Dear, Muppet facts.
I was having an argument with my peer about Jim Henson creations. Basically we were discussing if characters from Sesame Street are Muppets. Although they found sources that all puppets by Jim Henson are called Muppets. I did not agree, as this does not take the Fraggles into consideration, nor the fact that these characters are not in the Muppet ensemble. I suggested that the general species is simply puppet, with "Muppet" and "Fraggle" being subterms. This also doesn't make complete sense, because Muppet stands for "marionette" and "puppet", in which both Fraggles and Sesame Street characters are.
In your professional opinion, what do you think?
Hi! I totally get the argument, as it is one I've had with others a lot lol
So, all Muppets are puppets, but not all puppets are Muppets is a way I like to start thinking about it. Like you said "Muppet" is a portmanteau of marionette and puppet, but the origin of the word is often refuted. Henson said on some occasions that this origin is true, and on others, he just said he liked the sound of the word. There's lots of evidence for both sides, but I think it's important to note that "Muppet" doesn't just mean a creature using the combination of those two methods of puppetry. Otherwise, full-bodied Muppets, like Sweetums and Big Bird, wouldn't be considered "Muppets."
But anyway back to the real question: Are all Jim Henson creatures Muppets? I do understand the desire to only put puppets of the cartoonish aesthetic into the category of "Muppet," as it seems most cohesive, like Fraggles and the Muppet troupe. But does that make only Sir Didymus and Ambrosius the only puppets in Labyrinth to be "Muppets?" Does that mean Kira and Jen are not "Muppets" but rather Jim Henson puppets?
Some Jim Henson productions have said things like "featuring Jim Henson's Muppets" somewhere in the product, like the subtitle or credits, the implication being the puppets that appear are "Muppets." This would make Fraggles "Muppets," since the show is also known as Fraggle Rock with Jim Henson's Muppets. To your question about Sesame Street, some books like The Sesame Street Treasury, have a subtitle that says "featuring Jim Henson's Sesame Street Muppets," which would go to show these characters are "Muppets."
Without this whole list of technicalities, I'd say, sure, all Jim Henson puppets are "Muppets," and even with these technicalities, I'd still say yes - all Jim Henson puppets are Muppets. There is a "traditional" idea of what a "Muppet" is, but the concept has evolved from simply referring to puppets with Rowlf's aesthetic. I think it's more fun to think of this wild and fun menagerie of puppets as all being Muppets.

Talking to Craig McCracken
If you had a chance to talk to Craig McCracken, what would you say to him that not only complements him on the work he’s done in the past 30+ years, but also reassures him that there’s still interest in the plans he made for S3?
As someone who grew up watching Cartoon Network in the ‘90s, I would tell him…
“Hi, Craig-o, pleased to meet you! I’ve known your work since the early-mid nineties. I believe you were involved in 2 Stupid Dogs and Dexter’s Laboratory. It must have been a real treat getting to know some history behind Hanna-Barbera. I know it was for me. When I first saw a piece of your own work, it was on the side of a box of Fruity Pebbles promoting World Premiere Toons - one of the characters was Bubbles of the PPG. I gotta say, you’ve been one of my inspirations growing up.”
When it gets to the point where I talk about WOY, I would say this to him…
“I remember when I got into Wander Over Yonder. When I first saw your early sketches of him, I thought of Cantus the Minstrel from Fraggle Rock. And what can I say? I’m a sucker for anything related to Muppets. How about Jack McBrayer? He’s the perfect choice for the character’s voice! WOY marks the first time I got to hear Jack sing. It’s the show that provided the springboard for shows Disney apparently loves best, specifically Star vs. the Forces of Evil and Big City Greens - those shows wouldn’t have been picked up if it wasn’t for Daron Nefcy and the Houghton Bros.’ involvement in the first season. It’s also the first show where Andy Bean provided music for a TV series and where people like Noël Wells got to try their hand at voice acting. The show has made a lot more history than you can possibly imagine, so please don’t take it too lightly.”
Now comes the part where I talk about the elephant in the room, or rather, the ape in the space capsule…
“To be honest, I really looked forward to watching episodes of the show during its run. When I looked at your announcement about the premature cancellation and the plans you’d made for that third and final season, I was totally perplexed. Disney let Fish Hooks go on for three seasons regardless of content - was that because no one turned deaf ears or blind eyes to it? I always assumed they’d treat WOY the same way they treated FH.”
“Somehow it just doesn’t feel right to let your show bite the dust just because the “higher up bosses of bosses of bosses” didn’t see the need to make more, especially not after you made most fans aware of the existence of the plans for S3 and led them to believe it was guaranteed to be amazing. Why do you think I haven’t given up on WOY? And why else would I have Kid encourage viewers to watch the show (Kid Cosmic was great, by the way, one that definitely ended in victory)? I cannot think of any other show that was canceled one week before S2’s premiere, seven months after the S1 finale, five months after writing on S2 wrapped up, five months after your pitch for S3. You, Craig, are one of the most experienced cartoonists in the business and you don’t deserve to be treated like this.”
“To let you know just how determined I am to right this wrong, I worked four months on an Illustrator piece featuring over 140 individuals, built a LEGO Star Nomad (when I showed it to Dave Thomas (@owner-of-wendys), he said, “Dude… that Star Nomad is incredible. Well done!”), and wrote a pre-S3 shorts idea where Andy the Watchdog interviews refugees on the ex-secret planet. Heck, I even had to figure out what Star Force Enforcement Force look like and how the plot of S3 might play out.”
“@peepsqueak started the SaveWOY campaign, and I’m seeing to it that it shan’t be in vain. I know you’re busy with your other projects, but there is still a show waiting to be completed on your own terms. Until the time comes, keep making people smile! Darkest times call for sunniest of smiles!”

Between skin and felt - part 1
It was a very boring day in the studio today, you did your job as the prop manager well enough that Mr. Darling never had to yell or scream at you to do your job correctly unlike most of the other seasoned employees that worked on Welcome Home. At least.. that’s what you thought. You happened to be having an off day, thinking about those weird dreams you were having about Mr. Darling and his literal bodyguard had you on edge, it didn’t help that they were also RIGHT there a few feet away from you.
As you go to lower the giant, exaggerated, cartoonish sun prop, your grip on the old rope they still used from refusing to extend the prop and maintenance budget slipped and the heavy plywood painted prop crashed to the ground.. narrowly hitting Janet.
“WHAT THE FUCK ASSHOLE!? YOU COULD’VE KILLED ME!!” The resounding crash the prop had made as it hit the ground caught the attention of almost everybody in the room and suddenly all eyes were on you.. Including Mr. Darling and Max. Your palms sweat as you nervously look everywhere except at all the eyes staring at you in the moment,
“It was an accident! The rope slipped out of my hands- it’s old and ratty.. and quit being so dramatic Janet. It wouldn’t have killed you.. just… seriously maimed you a bit..” The blond haired jerk of the studio had her mouth agape, and your comment got a few snickers out of the more dark humored interns that were currently working. She mumbles a few things underneath her breath as she angrily ushers past you to go somewhere else, and it’s quiet before a voice cuts through the air.
“My set.. is ruined.” Your eyes turn over to Wally, who is angrily staring at the main set for the show.. which is in pieces.
His rage is intense, white hot rage if you will. But he sounds so calm that it scares you way more than hearing him yell and scream ever would.
“You’re staying late and fixing this.” He turns to look at you, his eyes are in slits and you can see hints of teeth poking through the grimace he’s wearing on his yellow felted face. You can only seem to muster the courage to swallow thickly and nod lightly before staring at the floor as everybody goes back to discussing their plans, albeit much quieter, and you can still feel Wally and Max’s eyes on you.
But this point, everybody has long since gone home - but you were still stuck cleaning up the mess you made. Hopefully, this experience will show how much better equipment is needed for the set pieces and props. You were VERY late to a party you had gotten invited to. The fraggles were hosting it, and you had no idea how you managed to get put on their radar or invited to a party thrown by some of the most iconic puppet actors of all time but you weren't complaining. It took forever to break down the giant sun prop that crashed into the stage, and it was almost 9:00 at night and you were still here.
"Maybe I can just get here early tomorrow.." you look around and go to the employee locker room where you kept all your stuff, changing out of your work clothes and into the extra set you had brought with you, but as you’re changing you hear Wally Darling himself talking to Max.
“Oh Max.. you’re the only human who I trust enough to bring to this party.. I’m so glad you decided to come with me!”
“Hmph. Only because you would cry and bitch at me if I didn’t agree.”
“Language Maxxy.”
A party?? Maybe they were also going to the fraggles party.. you’ll just have to avoid them then. You didn’t want to imagine the look on Mr. Darlings face if he caught slacking off at a celebrity’s party and not fixing his set. You soon have your casual clothes on, and you’re driving up to a remote modestly sized mansion in the heart of Hollywood. The house is big and modern looking, the flashing colored lights and loud bass boosted music tells you you’re in the right place and you park down the road and walk up the winding gated driveway to the building..
The winding line of people trying to get in reveals that this is in fact the house of a celebrity, but as you’re about to get in line someone stops you.
“Oi’!! Get over here! You’re part of VIP.” You look over and see.. Boober. THE Boober is talking to you- and you listen- I mean, who wouldn’t?? You follow him to a side gate, that leads to the backyard. It’s the most lavish outdoor space you’ve ever experienced, there was a minibar. the gigantic pool had lights in the sides seemingly making the normally crystal clear water change colors magically and the gazebo had fairy lights hanging from it, along with a few tiki torches.
Boober leads you to the gazebo, having you sit down he has the bartender a few feet away make you both some cocktails before speaking.
"So... we've heard good things about you. I'm coming forward on behalf of all the Muppets and asking a huge favor..." You take a sip of your cocktail before speaking meekly.
"Well... I don't know what you've heard about me, but I hope I can help you." Boober seems to perk up a bit, his mouth twitching upwards into a small smile.
"I thought you'd say that. The directors for welcome home that move around say that you help out with a little bit of everything, and not just props..." That was true... you did tend to overwork yourself a bit. But you liked being helpful, and that is how you were raised.
"The writers' strike going on right now, has really dropped the amount of people on our writing team, and we're falling behind on production... since we heard you're a decent writer and storyteller from what we hear, we would like to ask you to-" Boober is interrupted, his head turning towards the person who spoke.
"Hey Boob'! Max wanted me to ask you if he could..-" It was your boss. Wally, and he was staring right at you, having not finished his sentence out of surprise and anger.
what would you do now??
So.. this is my first time ever actually posting a fanfiction I've written. I do plan on continueing this but i feel like it has sat in my drafts for too long already, so enjoy part one!
Actor AU is by @frillsand.

I've finally watched the Muppets 2011 with my dad, and it was a blast!! I love its sense of humor (seriously, that Muppet man joke had me CACKLING), and it's so heart-warming in its simplicity and having a good time despite the trials the Muppets went through... I feel like I can't wipe this smile off my face (ehe)
Do you have any other Muppet or puppet media you'd recommend? I thought I'd ask you since you're the resident puppet expert, and I've been wanting to get into more puppet-related stuff :P
OH YAYYYY I’m so glad you liked it!!
And I do have other Muppet/puppet media I would recommend, thank you so much for asking (and gosh I am incredibly flattered you consider me the resident puppet expert). This is going to be LONG (sorry about that in advance), so under the cut it goes!
First off, I’d recommend the sequel to Muppets 2011, Muppets Most Wanted! It’s about the Muppets going on a world tour after getting back together in the previous movie, only for a criminal mastermind named Constantine (who looks exactly like Kermit) to hijack the tour, sending the real Kermit to prison and pretending to be Kermit so he can hide from the law and use the tour as a chance to steal the Crown Jewels. It’s a really great comedy heist that’s also an INCREDIBLE musical, and it has the same humor and sense of heart that Muppets 2011 has. I haven’t seen it in a while, but I have incredibly fond memories of watching it with my sibling when we were younger, and I think you would really enjoy it.
I would also recommend the original Muppet Show! I haven’t finished watching it yet (I’m on season 4 of 5 at the moment) but it’s a really fun show that serves as a love letter to old vaudeville theater and is just consistently entertaining. There’s no overarching plot and you can pretty much watch any episode in any order, though I would suggest that if you’re interested in checking it out, you watch the Harry Belafonte episode first - it’s regarded by a lot of fans (including me) as being the best episode of the series, and gives a very good idea of what the rest of the show is like.
(Also I HIGHLY recommend you watch the pitch reel for The Muppet Show, which you can find on YouTube here. It’s not essential viewing by any means, but it’s very funny and gives a bit of context for what the field of entertainment was like at the time the show was pitched)
The original trilogy of Muppet films are also absolutely stellar. The Muppet Movie is the story of how the Muppets got together, The Great Muppet Caper is essentially an AU where Fozzie and Kermit are brothers working for a newspaper and trying to prove Miss Piggy innocent of a jewel robbery, and Muppets Take Manhattan is essentially an AU where the Muppets were all friends in college and are trying to put on a show in New York. The original trilogy films are really fun in my opinion because they play fast and loose with what’s real and what’s fake; Kermit admits at the beginning of The Muppet Movie that it’s only an approximate retelling of how the Muppets actually got together, and the other two movies in the trilogy are telling completely separate stories than the main Muppet timeline, with The Great Muppet Caper even having an entire song devoted to telling the audience that it’s just a movie and that it isn’t actually canon. They all have INCREDIBLE soundtracks, too, the songs from these movies are some of my favorite Muppet songs ever.
Fraggle Rock isn’t really considered a piece of Muppet media anymore, since when Disney bought the rights to the Muppets they didn’t bother buying it as well, but it was originally a Muppet production and all of the stuff I watched as a kid referred to it as a Muppet production, so I’m counting it as a Muppet production still lol. Fraggle Rock is an absolutely amazing show on all levels; the puppetry is great, the songs are all stellar, the characters are so well-written, and despite being a show aimed at kids it never talks down to its audience, handling serious issues like death and prejudice with the respect they deserve. It’s probably best to go into Fraggle Rock as blind as possible (unlike The Muppet Show, there is an overarching story, though you don’t really find out that there is one until towards the end of Season 1) so all I’ll say is that it’s probably one of my favorite Muppet productions ever and that the finale, without exaggeration, made me cry for 30 minutes straight. There’s also a Fraggle Rock reboot called Fraggle Rock: Back to The Rock, and while I personally don’t think it’s as good as the original series, it’s still REALLY amazing and you can tell that the team working on it really cares about the og series. If you do end up watching Fraggle Rock, I’d recommend the reboot as well!
Getting into a bit more obscure territory here, but Tales From Muppetland: The Frog Prince is very near and dear to my heart. It’s a Muppet retelling of the Frog Prince fairytale, with the twist that the princess has been cursed by the same witch that the frog prince has been cursed by! The relationship between Prince Robin and Princess Melora is really cute, and it’s clear that the two of them really care for each other. I love the changes that it makes to the original fairytale, too; I mentioned the twist of Melora also being cursed, which gives her and Robin the chance to bond and leads to a very sweet song about finding someone who understands who you are and what you’ve gone through, but the story is also altered so that Robin explains why he needs Melora to kiss him instead of hiding the fact that he’s a prince from her - she doesn’t believe him, but I’m glad they made that change regardless. The witch is also a really fun villain! She’s reused from a previous Muppet production (Tales of The Tinkerdee) that was meant to be a pilot for a planned show but was never picked up, and I’m really glad she got a chance to shine in something that was actually officially released.
Sam and Friends is the first ever Muppet series, debuting in 1955, and while most of it is unfortunately lost media there are a couple episodes you can find online! I really like Sam and Friends (I have a book all about the making of the show), and I would recommend it both as a way to look at how far television puppetry has come and as just a genuinely very entertaining show in its own right - plus, the episodes are only 5 minutes long, so you can get through all the available episodes pretty quickly. My personal favorite episode is “Powder Burn,” a parody of the show Gunsmoke.
Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas is probably one of my favorite Christmas specials ever, despite me only watching it for the first time this past December. It’s a very earnest and emotional story about a family (Emmet Otter and his mother Alice Otter) living in poverty after the death of Emmet’s father. Both Emmet and Alice want to be able to give each other a good Christmas present, so they both enter the local talent contest on Christmas Eve in order to win the cash prize without telling each other. The soundtrack is done by the same man who did the soundtrack for The Muppet Movie (Paul Williams), and is just GORGEOUS - it manages to be silly and heartfelt at the same time, and does some really interesting stuff with the instrumentals, like having a kazoo solo during one of the more somber songs which somehow actually works! Like Fraggle Rock, it it isn’t afraid of tackling serious issues like death and poverty, and like Fraggle Rock, it made me bawl like a baby.
Finally, I would recommend both the documentary Of Muppets and Men and the Jim Henson Hour episode “Secrets of The Muppets” (I sadly haven’t watched enough of The Jim Henson Hour to give a proper recommendation, but from the little I’ve seen it’s very good). Both of these tackle the behind the scenes of working on the Muppets, with Of Muppets and Men being about the making of The Muppet Show specifically and “Secrets of The Muppets” being a general overview of the stuff the Muppets had done up to that point. I completely understand if you don’t want to see the behind the scenes workings of the Muppets (my mom doesn’t like seeing that kind of thing either and I get why), but if you do want to see it I can’t recommend these two enough. They do an excellent job at introducing and highlighting the skills of the troupe of Muppet performers, detailing specific tricks of puppeteering, and showing how everything comes together.
There’s definitely more Muppet media I want to recommend, but if I did so we’d be here FOREVER, and I still haven’t gotten to the puppet media recommendations! This list does serve as a pretty good starting point though - if you like Frog Prince and Jug-Band Christmas you’ll probably like the rest of the Tales From Muppetland specials, if you like one of the original trilogy of Muppet movies you’ll probably like the others in the trilogy, if you like Sam and Friends you’ll probably like the Muppets’ appearances on shows like the Ed Sullivan Show or the Jimmy Dean show that they made during that period, etc. Most of this stuff is on YouTube or the Internet Archive, but if you’re looking for something specific and can’t find it, let me know and I’ll do my best to locate it 👍
AND NOW AFTER 50 MILLION PARAGRAPHS WE ARE ON TO THE PUPPET MEDIA IN GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
I have to start this list off with my favorite movie of all time, The Dark Crystal. It’s a fantasy epic done entirely with puppets, and it is utterly gorgeous. All of the puppets are so detailed (I had the absolute blessing to see some of them when a local museum held a puppetry exhibit and the sheer amount of tiny details you can’t even SEE in the film are incredible), the world is so richly developed, the soundtrack is absolutely top-tier, and the amount of innovations in puppetry that this film causes are mind-blowing. There are traditional puppets, people in suits, radio-controlled puppets…the list goes on! I cannot recommend The Dark Crystal enough, it means so much to me and is probably the reason I’m so obsessed with puppets in the first place. It also has a prequel on Netflix called Age of Resistance - like the Fraggle Rock reboot, I don’t think it’s as good as the og, but it’s still absolutely stunning and the team working on it clearly cares about the world of the original film. Sadly, the prequel was cancelled after only one season :( I still recommend it if you like the film, but just go into it knowing that it’s gonna end on a cliffhanger.
The Little Shop of Horrors movie has an absolutely AMAZING puppet in the form of Audrey II, the film’s main antagonist. There are multiple Audrey II puppets, as the character grows throughout the entire film, and the biggest one required over 50 puppeteers to operate. There are no opticals or blue screens used for Audrey II (except for one scene at the very end of the film that they had to reshoot), and the effect is mind blowing. Little Shop is an absolutely incredible film overall, too, and thankfully doesn’t use Audrey II as a selling point or a gimmick - the puppet is incorporated very naturally into the film, and you appreciate the puppetry much more as a result.
I haven’t watched Labyrinth, but my sibling has and they really like it! From what I’ve seen of the puppetry, it’s really well done, and the movie seems very fun. Sorry I can’t give a better recommendation than that lol.
If we’re counting stop-motion animation as a form of puppetry (which I personally do considering the models are typically referred to as puppets), then I absolutely recommend checking out the work of LAIKA, which includes productions such as Coraline and Kubo and The Two Strings. I also highly recommend Wendell and Wild, made by former LAIKA supervising director Henry Selick, as well as Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. All of these films are stunning, and they absolutely deserve the hype that surrounds them.
This one is a bit more preschool-centric, but when I was very little I was OBSESSED with Johnny and The Sprites, and having watched a bit of it again recently, I feel it still holds up somewhat for older audiences. It’s a show about a musician named Johnny who moves to a house in the woods in order to focus on his music only to find that the house is next to Grotto’s Grove, where a species of fairy-like beings called the Sprites live. The series is focused on Johnny teaching the Sprites about human stuff and the Sprites teaching Johnny about Sprite stuff in turn. It’s a very cute and charming show :3
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum is Mystery Science Theater 3000, a show about a man trapped in space with 4 robot companions and forced to watch bad movies as part of an evil science experiment. It’s very goofy and very immature at times, and 99% of the time you need a guide to understand the stuff they reference, but it’s great regardless, and despite being very simple the puppets are really well-designed. Unfortunately, one of the characters is named after the ethnic slur used against Romani people in the show’s original run; it wasn’t done out of any intentional malice and the creators changed her name when the show was revived and viewers expressed their concern, but if that sours your opinion on watching the original show I completely understand.
Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared is a classic, and for good reason - both the original webseries and the tv show riff off of and play with the stereotypes of traditional children’s puppet shows, while still clearly respecting the art of puppetry and giving it their own unique spin. It’s definitely on the spookier/gorier side of things, so MASSIVE content warning if you want to check it out, but DHMIS is very good and I adore it.
And with that, this very very very VERY long list comes to an end. I definitely didn’t mention everything that I wanted to - there are some excellent pieces of puppet media, like Starkid’s Starship, that I just haven’t gotten around to watching and thus can’t properly recommend - but like with the Muppet section, I’d suggest using this as a starting point. There’s a TON of puppet media out there, and this is just scratching the surface!
I hope this list helps, and that you find something on here that you enjoy :D

☠️❤️ Regressor! Crymini Headcanons ❤️☠️
Tumblr media
Kid regressor 100%; regresses from 4-11. Will sometimes regress younger if she's tired or going through her time of the month
Loves punk, rock, emo, goth, and metal music (Has to be the clean version. No ifs, ands, or buts.). When Crymini's headspace is younger than her usual regressed age range, she loves to listen to Rockabye! Baby and Twinkle Twinkle Little Rockstar because of the lullaby renditions of her favorite songs
Has a knack for making kandi bracelets
She also decorates her paci collection
She also loves teethers and chewelry
Crymini's CG is Husk, and Angel is her big brother. Charlie or Cherri will babysit if Husk is busy
Angel helps with the babysitting when he's not regressed
Has skull and punk-themed little gear (idea inspired by @jester-b0mb)
Crymini has three favorite stuffies: two stuffed bunnies and a stuffed kitten (From left to right: Ace, Spade, and Ramona)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Has trouble with swearing and had to be put in timeout or put money in the swear jar for it
Crymini struggles with her emotions and communicating her needs. She will throw tantrums
Luckily, her CG and babysitters are understanding and patient and will help her calm down. She doesn't have timeouts for tantrums. Instead, she has time-ins
Crymini is extremely pouty at times and will pout when she doesn't get her way
When Crymini's headspace is very tiny, she will play with Husk's ears and wings. He doesn't really mind as long as she's gentle
Crymini has been put in timeout for drawing on the walls multiple times
She is a biter and will bite anyone and anything (nothing dangerous or anything that will make her sick, don't worry. Just furniture, pillows, and blankets). She has been firmly, yet gently scolded for it and given a teether, chewelry, or paci (depending on how old she feels at the moment) every time
Hates naptime and bedtime. She acts like Bluey during the episode "Fruitbat" and will be adamant about staying up late. Her CG and babysitters are patient with her and will make her naptime and bedtime routines fun with games. Works like a charm every time 👍
Her favorite foods are grilled cheese and fruit
Husk and Charlie are adamant in making sure Crymini drinks water and eats healthy (she's also given milk and juice). Angel and Cherri are the same, but they are less strict and will sneak Crymini junk food and soda when Husk and Charlie aren't around. However, it leaves the little going through a sugar rush
Adores The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Coraline, ParaNorman, Monster House, Dan Vs., The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Sushi Pack, Regular Show, Adventure Time, Yellow Submarine, The Muppets Mayhem, Fraggle Rock, Nimona, Dead End: Paranormal Park, and Invader Zim! She'll watch Invader Zim with Angel a lot since they both love the show (see my Regressor! Angel headcanons)
She gets self-conscious because of her temper and wonders if her CG, big brother, and babysitters love her. She is reassured that she is loved no matter what every time ❤️

Ever have an AU so complicated it's almost not worth it to explain it, yet have an idea in it grip you so strongly that not only MUST you draw it and share it, but that the idea(/mental video) itself is enough to put a song #1 on your Spotify Wrapped two years running because you constantly listen to it?
So with that said this is Gobo Fraggle and my OC Daniel from an "modern urban fantasy with a high count of magical shenanigans" AU I have with my partner. They have canonically sang The Other Side from The Greatest Showman in plain conversation because living with Fraggles just be that way, so of course that's what I had to draw.
Companion piece to this other one I drew previously, which only didn't get shared because I didn't have a scanner at the time.

Hello
What’s the best episode of fraggle rock in your opinion?
Hi!!!!!!
So sorry, I have no idea how long this AAM has been sitting in my inbox!
Hmmmm… there are a ton of them that I rank in my personal favorites, and I could answer this according to that list, or from an objective angle based on overall writing and thematic traits.
Objectively, I’d say the best episode is “Change of Address”, as it’s the full circle moment that the series has been building up to- not to mention that I get CHILLS every time “Magic be With You” starts playing in that haunting choral arrangement. It’s impacted me so much, and maybe it sounds odd to anyone else, but it was the song I sung to my newborn niece to soothe her the first time I met her, and it worked. Overall if’s just a beautiful episode, and I’m always teary afterwards.
Other strong contenders based on objective reasons are “The Day the Music Died”, “Gone But Not Forgotten”, and possibly “River of Life” (?). I give RoL a hesitant nod because it’s so somber that I’ve only been able to watch it twice- and I’ve seen the entire series otherwise so many times I couldn’t even guess, maybe upwards of 30-40 full views? Probably more, honestly, since it’s been my favorite companion since I was a tiny kid.
In terms of my favorites though, I have a long list! It doesn’t have huge overbearing weight in the story, but “Capture the Moon” has always been one of my biggest comfort episodes, as have “Boober’s Dream”, “Red’s Blue Dragon”, and “Wembley’s Flight”. Oh, and “A Brush with Jealousy”!! Man, the song from that one… “show me the light in a butterfly’s eye/and show me the dreams of the earth and the sky”… ahh.. so pretty.. I just feel refreshed upon hearing it. :)
Capture the Moon is where the foundation for my two main Fraggle OCs comes from (and weirdly enough, I came up with them due to a very specific Fraggle dream I had as a little kid, so that’s probably why they’re so dear to me! Hah!)
I also (hot take, I know!) do have a couple episodes I don’t actually care for that much. Of course, I love them all, but I do definitely have some least favorites. (I have never really liked “The Great Radish Famine”. I can’t place why, but it’s 1000% near the bottom of my list, LOL!)
Anyway, you asked a short question, and I totally blathered on for way too long! I’m not sure if I gave a very satisfactory answer 😅 I do suppose I could be more specific and take a more analytical approach if you’d like!! There are several ways to answer this specific question, HAH! Please feel free to ask more!!!! :0

Love Wins!
Here we are at the end of this, the first ever Muppets Showdown. Though both sides put up a considerable fight (It’s impossible to not love Gonzo at least a little), the Muppet(s) of all Time (MOAT) is……..
BERT AND ERNIE!!
THANKS to everyone who participated! Look out for some muppety posts here and there, this blog will remain (at least sporadically) active. I’m not really sure what spin off polls I can do, but I am also running @rock-swag-tournament so if that interests you, check it out!
Maybe I could do franchise specific mini tournaments (like Muppets Treasure Island, Fraggle Rock, The Labyrinth, etc). Or, I’ve been thinking it would be fun to do a “Humans with Muppet Energy” tournament. It would, I think, automatically include any humans who acted alongside Muppets in any in Muppet movies (so Tim Curry, Michael Caine, David Bowie, Jason Segal, etc) and I would also take submissions (and hope that someone submits Brett Goldstein).
Anyway, let me know what y’all think of those ideas! Maybe I’ll make a poll about it later.
For now, though, in light that Five Nights at Freddy’s trailer and MY newfound knowledge that the animatronics were made by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop…

fraggle rock au where the plot of “the riddle of rhyming rock” is what i thought it was gonna be when i first watched it, where solving the riddle would send a fraggle back in time
this assumption was based on three things.
1) the story about rhyming rock: “weary traveler, heed this rhyme, and you will dance in time”. dance in time? like dancing through time? it very well could be!
2) the fact that on apple tv the preview picture for the episode is of great uncle gobo. how could there be an episode with him? a flash back?? surely not!
Tumblr media
3) i really like time travel
those things combined made me come to the conclusion that gobo would solve the riddle and get sent back in time
and to add in the details in the summary (as shown on the above picture) it could be something where solving it sends everyone in the room back in time, and the punishment for using the spell wrong happens only after everyone goes back, so that thing where wembley gets trapped under the rock could still happen
and then, idk, gobo goes to get help but the only person he can find is his great uncle? time travel shananigans you know
that’s pretty much all the ideas i had on this. though if this happened that would mean that wembley had gone back it time twice, and red would be the only of their group who hasn’t (thank you “mokey, then and now”)

So I'm still working with Platonic fluff or puppy-love crushes when it comes to Welcome Home. Full on mushy-cushy, sugar-coated or obsessively possessive romance isn't until
Welcome Home's lore is substantially laid out [so I have more to work with]
Welcome Home's creator is fully adjusted/accustomed to the fan stuff in terms of writing.
So reader's only gonna be coddled and pampered for now. And maybe there's gonna be some dabbles of romance here and there, but nothing overly crazy. [For now] if anything, I might dabble in a bit of the possessive part.
Thing is, I hardly work with normal readers.
...who am I kidding, I never work with normal reader. So of course there's still gonna be some reader concepts I'm gonna be trying.
If ya want a normal reader, there's plenty of stories where reader is a normal human. [But most of em are with Wally-]
But, out of curiosity, I'm putting this poll up.
For those who aren't familiar:
Kaiju: Ever heard of Godzilla, Mothra, King ghidorah, or Corrupted Steven Universe? You're kind of that, but you're not destructive. [Note: it's already up for reads here. Still looking for suitable ideas]
Plushie: I don't think this one is too unknown, but since we're working with puppets, how bout a stuffed animal now?
Fraggle: Ever heard of Fraggle Rock? Yeah, you're one of those. Only, you aren't always singing every second of your life.
Art Doll/Room Guardian: You might wanna look this one up, but this is something I desperately want to create/have ;w;
[Note: I'm still probably going to do all four of these concepts anyway, but i just wanted to see what people preferred]

having more thoughts about fraggle rock shakespeare
okay so bear in mind i’ve only watched one and a half episodes of fraggle rock but i have had my good friend tumblr user @fiddlstyx (hi :D) tell me a lot about the gay muppets show.
so okay mokey finds a book of shakespeare’s plays. and she’s like “woagh. this would be cool to put on a silly creature play”. or shakespeare is a muppet i can’t decide which is funnier. so she ropes the rest of The Gang into helping her. mokey is directing these as well as playing parts because i think she deserves it.
also i have this mental image of the gang going through the plays and boober’s like “what’s this one about?” and mokeys explaining the plays to him and they get to macbeth and she’s like “BLOOD! BLOOD! BLOOD! AND! DEATH!”
anyway. doozer stage crew. someone’s like “how are they moving the sets” and they look down and there are like twelve small people moving the set pieces.
um. idk which play they would do but i have some basic ideas for casts.
HAMLET
boober as hamlet, red as horatio, mokey as ophelia, gobo as laertes, wembley as both rosencrantz and guildenstern he is switching hats for their lines.
KING LEAR
idk anyone else but i know in my soul that wembley is cast as edgar. let him eat worms on stage
THE TEMPEST
uncle traveling matt as gonzalo would be really funny to me. hear me out. there’s no justification i just think it would be really really funny. boober as prospero. because of the walking stick. um. red and mokey as trinculo and stephano.
please other people add your ideas love and light.

Maybe it's just because I'm not looking hard enough, but I am somewhat disappointed that no one in the tumblr Fraggle Rock fandom has come up with a Fraggle Actor AU yet.
Like I have yet to see a single post bringing up the idea of a Fraggle Actor AU, and i've been perusing the variations of Fraggle Rock related tags for literal days now.
So I'm making one myself.
Also this is extremely long, and kind of disjointed because I'm writing this at 9 at night, and also just trying to get as much of this AU down as possible in one go. I can refine it later.
Just a warning to anyone who actually wants to look at it.
So anyways the root of the AU is the crossover Fraggle Rock has with the Muppets and Sesame Street in A Muppet Family Christmas.
Within the actual canon of the crossover, it's more likely than not that Fraggle Rock acts as a kind of magical liminal space between dimensions, linking the various dimensions, and none of the Fraggles are actors within the canon of this crossover.
This AU tosses that hypothetical/implied canon out the window, because A Muppet Family Christmas exists outside of Fraggle Rock canon. Instead having all of the characters within A Muppet Family Christmas being actors, acting out a movie.
Some of the things that happen in Fraggle Rock are influenced by real world events within the Actor AU.
Like Red breaking her ankle and being unable to move around for filming multiple episodes, so there's multiple episodes with a subplot of "Red is injured and can't do X Thing, so what do we do to get around that". All of those episodes were filmed when she was injured, but were spaced out.
Red breaking her ankle is canon within the Actor AU, but it didn't break because of the incident that is mentioned/shown (I can't remember if we see her get injured or just hear about it) on the Show Fraggle Rock.
Then there's things that exist in the Actor AU that exist in order to facilitate the idea of Fraggle Rock is a show played by real actors.
Such as Uncle Matt and Gobo not being related in real life, but playing nephew and uncle in the show Fraggle Rock.
Uncle Matt's real nephew is who plays him as young Matt, while Gobo's real dad plays Uncle Gobo and Gobo's younger brother plays child Gobo in the flashbacks.
The core group of fraggles are, within the show of Fraggle Rock, mostly intended to be in their late teens, twenty at the oldest. The actors' ages don't exactly match up with this though.
Mokey's actress for example is 28, when Mokey the show character is supposed to be 20 (oldest of the friend group, but still just starting real adulthood). Red and Gobo's actors are both early 20s and playing 18/19 year olds.
Boober is 17 and the only actor playing his own age. While Wembley's actor is just 15 while Wembley himself is supposed to be closer to 17.
Boober and Wembley both being the only actual teenagers of the group is also why if there's a ship tease for either of their characters, it tends to be with the other's character, or a background character who's also played by another teenager like Lou.
Instead of either of them getting ship teased with Red, Gobo, or Mokey. With the older actors' characters tended to get ship teased with each other, rather than with Boober or Wembley.
Sidebottom is also played by Boober. Though is occasionally brought to life with the use of a body double (parent trap style) when the two characters have to physically interact, rather than just being fully green screened into the same scenes.
None of the fraggle actors' real personalities are identical to who they are in the show, and in some ways they can be pretty dramatically different.
Mokey in the show will often come to a wrong conclusion under the guise of being helpful, and will do something completely unhelpful as a result. Such as leaving Gobo alone in episode one where he actually could have used someone to talk to. Or her extreme forgetfulness.
While Mokey's actress is just as chill as the character she plays, she's not as full on flower child, let me protest eating Doozer buildings when I've never spoken to a Doozer before, well intentioned problem maker. The character she plays can be a bit of a ditz at times, when the real Mokey is more mentally present than that.
For Red and Gobo their arrogance and insensitivity gets pretty massively exaggerated in both of their cases. Sure they're not perfect, but they're not "constantly blaming other people for my mistakes" arrogant and insensitive they can be in the show.
Actors' history/background:
Red's career history:
Red's actress is actually pretty interested in art and stuff in real life, while Red the character finds most art pretty boring.
Red's previously only had one big role in acting before being casted as a main character on Fraggle Rock. Before then she was mainly playing bit parts and doing commercials.
Red started her acting career as an adult, and has been in the business for 4 years when Fraggle Rock starts.
Wembley's career history:
Fraggle Rock is Wembley's first big acting gig, with him only doing commercials and bit work before this.
Wembley is a child actor, and the youngest, so the rest of the main cast is very protective of him. Especially Gobo and Mokey.
Gobo's career history:
Gobo's inexplicable accent is because his actor is Canadian and he's bad at hiding his accent. His whole family is Canadian, but his dad can do various accents, which is why Uncle Gobo has a different accent.
Gobo is a neapo baby, his whole family are actors. Which is why both his dad (who plays Uncle Gobo), and his younger brother (who plays Gobo in childhood flashbacks) also both act in Fraggle Rock.
Gobo did the full child actor thing when he was a little kid (because family buisiness), but stopped when he was around 12 to focus on his music. Only to then return to acting as an adult.
Fraggle Rock is Gobo's first big roll since returning to acting as an adult. Gobo was actually thinking about quitting acting again to focus full time on his music when learning he landed the lead role in Fraggle Rock.
Gobo ends up growing protective of Wembley over the course of filming season 1 of Fraggle Rock. He's just a couple years older than Gobo's own younger brother, and their characters have a very sibling like relationship.
Though Gobo isn't as vigilante about watching over Wembley and being suspicious of people's intentions involving Wembley as Mokey is.
Gobo grew up in the industry, but he also comes from a wealthy family of Hollywood actors who had the money and ability to shield him almost completely from the dark side of Hollywood.
Boober's career history:
Boober's been acting professionally since he was a kid, originally in theater. Starting out when he was about 4 in small local productions in his hometown, but by age 10 he'd manage to land his first role on Broadway.
Boober got scouted for his first tv roll by a producer who saw one of his shows, when he was 13. He spent the next two years doing bit parts for tvs and movies, but still primarily a theater actor, before making the full transition away from stage acting at age 15.
Boober's various past roles are kind of all over the place. The guy has range. Before landing the role on Fraggle Rock where he's the group's anxious stick in the mud he played a pretty wide variety of characters, both on stage and on film.
He's played charming pranksters, and bullies, and shy nerds, and everything in between. Heck one of his previous roles was a female character, and he had to cross dress for it.
Mokey's career history:
Mokey has the longest career in acting of the main five, both because of her age, and because she started off as a baby actress.
Yep, Mokey was tragically an instance of child actor acting as the breadwinner situation. So even though she's only 28, she's been acting for 27 years.
She's been in movies, and tv shows, and commercials. She's had a million bit roles, and lead a number of tv shows and movies.
For her acting in Fraggle Rock was just supposed to be a fun silly project. Her character wasn't supposed to be a main character, but she found in table reads that she enjoyed being Mokey Fraggle so much and being part of Fraggle Rock that her role was expanded into a main character.
Mokey is really protective of Wembley and Boober due to her past as a child actor of parents who weren't at all part of the business. She knows how dangerous of a world acting is for a child, even on wholesome children's shows like Fraggle Rock.
Mokey keeps a close eye on who interacts with her underage cast mates, and more importantly if and when anyone acts strangely around her young cast mates. Or if anyone makes them uncomfortable.
Mokey is not afraid to call parents, report people for misconduct, or go to law enforcement with her concerns if she thinks things aren't being handled.
And she's a big enough star to be able to get away with stuff like that.
