#burcon #cockles #thoughts #at the start of the panel and through a few particular interactions he seemed very standoffish #he was giving a little bitter and hurt and perhaps even resentful - maybe he only learned of misha's gf #at this con too! maybe it was news to him. on top of not seeing misha for months i can understand #if he was feeling a bit neglected and out of the loop. there's also the matter of misha's gf not being #in a poly thing with jensen and dee like vicki was ie. what she has with misha is seperate so i'm sure #that's another difficult thing to deal with knowing their time together is strictly separate #i've no doubt he wants misha to have a partner and be happy but there's an adjustment period #letting new people into your life and whoever misha's partner is now or in the future is going to #affect jensen on a personal level and moreover his relationship with misha. it's all very intriguing #and while i like what little i've seen and heard about this woman for misha i just think no matter who #she is it's going to take a toll on jensen's relationship w misha. i thought it was plain to see on jensen's face #during their panel: numerous moments where he was giving a poker face that wasn't covering a laugh #but instead like he was trying to smooth out his bitterness. or so my eyes and brain and heart tell me. #just various moments where things looked uncomfortable and jensen making off-colour jokes that didn't land #and which furthermore were barbed and snarky - not in their usual banter way but like he was lashing out #and using the excuse of chaotic panel convo to explain away his comedic pitfalls. but again maybe i'm #looking to much into it? idk. there are some lovely moments! fun and caring moments - but they #mainly came from misha's direction ngl. it seemed like misha was trying hard to keep the peace #while jensen was just running his mouth on comments and jokes that kept not landing - for me #everyone on my dash is loving their dynamic this panel - and i want to feel that love! it is possible that #learning misha has a gf has skewed my perception a little like i'm putting context onto moments #i otherwise wouldn't. but i also think i would've laughed and generally felt better watching their panel #if that was the case. idk. whatever the reason i do think something was OFF between them on stage #and it was coming from jensen from the start. misha picked up on it partway though but things felt #a little strained throughout. like jensen wasn't looking at misha as much as usual or reaching out for him #misha tried to salvage and not react to things. but both their answers to the last Q were passive aggressive af #and when they left the stage together they weren't close or touching or chatting like they usually are...

short answer: i, a non-native in terrain i’ve only ever navigated with 1) a glider 2) no fear of death 3) via a vessel 4) with a map, against various well trained armies, all hellbent on killing me? you’re funny.

now, the long answer…

the long answer, of course, depends on your preferred brand of isekai, as well as the various traits within that. i will… attempt at brevity, but cannot make promises. oh, and there’s no particular order to this list.

1) blood. i myself am more inclined to blue over gold, but that doesn’t matter for this topic. what does matter is if its present and if it manifests immediately.

2) teyvat. is the earth on my side? do the plants and animals know it’s me, or do i need to ‘prove’ it? does it resent me for whatever reason? what’s it’s level of influence (which sounds dumb, but do i have the power of earthquakes and storms or just a few animal helpers?)

3) the imposter situation itself. is there a physical imposter already there,and if so what’s their level of influence? origin? i’d rather go against a wayward traveller than celestia’s puppet. do they have powers? how does teyvat react to them, if at all?

4) speaking of, celestia. are they on my side, the fake’s(if there is one), or staying neutral? what brand of sagau are we even using here? i know i made a post about my version of sagau lore, but one of the key changes since then was celestia. what version of lore are we following?

5) teyvat’s people, emphasis on vision wielders. do they have that subconscious Know? do their visions act up? how do the people overall feel about the one on the throne, if there is one? if there isn’t, is celestia involved in their opinions somehow? what about the traveller, or my vessels?

6) my influence. what can i do? do i have creator abilities, and if so do they take time/some other cue to manifest? is it something i train, or just Click one day? what level? is it an element by element basis, like the traveller, or does that not apply to me? do i have an inventory? if so, can i access the character menus? the map? waypoints? can i move my party, still? do statues of the seven heal me, does food heal me, how do hillichurls and various abyssal beings react to me? ancient gods, such as rhodea (i spelled that wrong) or dvalin or that fucker in the sea outside liyue (yeah i. forgot his name) or azhdaha or yo(u?)kai, if i’m in inazuma? where are we in the in-game lore, by the way?

7) teyvat, again, but this time in terms of biology. i have a few headcanons about teyvat, notably that their gravity is lesser (less fall damage), weather less severe (global warming), and is overall much more temperate/cooler/less humid (global warmingx2 and also just a touch of idealism), so do these apply? this ties into the other points about teyvat, i guess: does the earth let me get cold? can i just shelter in dragonspine?

8) plot armor, for lack of better phrasing. will teyvat let me die? oh, and do i get timeloop’d, or kicked back to my world? do i die, go to my world, then go back to teyvat when i sleep/next log on/whatever? again, tying into other points about teyvat, but will it protect me from death? is my skin like impenetrable or something, or whoops, god is dead, sorry. if i revive in teyvat, is it like that one recent piece i did where the earth moves me? what happens when (if?) i die? does teyvat take revenge?

the long answer… is that it depends.

saw your answer to previous anon talking about how mers usually exhibit signs they're in love or when they want someone and that got me thinking... do you think because the octatrio are, well, merpeople, they would be more inclined towards courting rituals or traditions that are common in mer culture but absent in humans? since stuff like mating dances or colorful displays (iirc correctly, male cephalapods flash different colours and textures across their bodies when trying to attract a mate) are pretty much a staple in the animal world, I feel like there could be something akin to that for mers too. anything that would hint at their non-human-ness makes me crazy

Yes!! Azul has probably researched human courtship and how humans show affection (both platonically and romantically) so that he can better understand human society and all of those curious cues humans give when they’re attracted to someone. Although I like to think that even in human form there are little details about him and the twins that are just so very clearly not human. Like Azul’s horizontal pupils or his blue blood (and blue blush!!!) or the twins and their pharyngeal jaws or (very obviously) their sharp, serrated teeth or even the fact that their blood has ichthyotoxins, which can be harmful if you come into contact with it. >:)

I love the idea of the trio often forgetting about how humans date because they’ve never really navigated love on the surface before. Azul’s so used to hearing the stories of female octo-mers cannibalizing males after copulation and that’s enough to instill plenty of caution when it comes to romantic and sexual attractions. No, Azul, your darling is not going to kill and eat you if the two of you get nasty in bed. As for the twins, you’ll have to explain to them that yawning so frequently (or opening and closing your mouth when you’re speechless) isn’t an invitation to mate. When the trio learn that relationships on the surface are just as complex as in the sea, they’re very intrigued and curious. Won’t you teach them more? They’re all hands-on learners, by the way. :)

I've been thinking a lot about what to name Demonsoul's story and I think I've got a few ideas? I'd love the name to have something to do with glory or being crowned because of story symbolism and stuff!

There's a sentence that I associate with the story, that sentence being "Crowned with glory, crowned with guilt." as it basically describes Demonsoul's journey and development? I'd love for the story's name to somehow relate to that.

One name that I have for now is "Two hearts for glory", but that sounds a bit clunky imo. I also really like some variations of it like "A heart for glory" or "Two for glory"

If you have any ideas for words or even entire names feel free to comment or something, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Overall I'd love something to do with crowns or the idea of glorifying something bad, but I'm also open for names relating to being blind for something, or having knowledge become a burden, as well as overall themes of guilt, regret and death of course

#so like in the sequel of the story im currently saving my whole computer on a hard drive that my husband got me for my bday along w synth//v #in order to install windows 8 instead of 7 just so that i can in fact use said synth//v.. its a whole ordeal #so anyway while files are copying etc i stumbled upon some rlly old stuff from my old computer like some chat logs i had saved #when i was a teenager i had an obsessive personality so i saved certain logs of conversations with people that i cared about #like some w my evil ex when we were just friends n everything was still ok #so like i read like 2 conversations so far n its rlly somth wild. #ok so. #my evil ex did this thing especially when we started dating where he would tell me stuff thats obviously untrue about himself or the world #like just lies but told straight faced and seriously. and it wasnt just some little lies it was like obviously impossible stuff or misinfo #thats easy to fact check #at the start i humored him but the more he did this the more i saw he was serious and it didnt rlly matter to me that he was believing some #wild stuff (like he had powers or whatever) #but it was a problem when he would tell me while expecting me to believe it especially if its misinfo about the world or somth #or he made up incredibly wild excuses for his bad behavior #like i went missing for a week and didnt reply to you bc i was on a time travel mission or whatever. #i got rlly upset about it bc i couldnt reconcile that i thought he loved me but still told me untrue things that i thought he had to know #were wrong #i wasnt sure at the time bc trauma bonding etc but i started suspecting that he told me wilder and wilder stuff to see what he could get #away with to like trap me into a manipulation cycle. #so anyway the interesting thing is im reading these logs from a way earlier time when things were still good (just friends at that point) #and like?????? already he was telling me these fake things. but it was related to a media we both liked at the time #and it was just a thing me and my friends did. like we pretended some of us were married/dating characters or whatever and making things #up about our imaginary life w them or whatever. i was particularly into it and would write fanfic #or draw art about this etc #so it was on that note. but like i knew that this was fake? it was just a fun game for me like a coping mechanism but i still knew reality. #but rereading those logs now is chilling bc like the signs of him doing that were already there but somehow i never noticed??? #fdhjksfhdsjfhdsjkfhdjkshfdjksfgfgsdjfgdsjfyuertezutrhfdsjgdhsgfdsjgfdhsgfdhsjfgdhsjfhjghfdjfjdslfhdjsfdhlsfhjdyufhdsjfkhdskjfsd #its fucked up too but i cant help a feeling of euphoria rereading those logs i was always just so happy to talk to him at the time. #so. fun! things to tell my therapist #lodia sayings
