“What we did to you…you found a way to protect yourself. You channeled your fear into anger, which is why you’re so good at your job. But if you want to save those people, you have to find your way back to that scared little girl.” Even as she stands there, heart thumping beneath her ribs, fingertips tingling with the adrenaline that flooded her blood at her rush of outrage, Olivia knows this is a lost cause. Because he’s right. For as long as she can remember, she’s always channeled her fears into anger—even as a nine-year-old, shooting a gun at another grown man who’d abused her instead of protecting her.

This Week in BL - Cameos & Familiar Faces
Entirely subjective yadda yadda. Organized by favs in each category. No numbered lists anymore, tumblr be buggn'.
End of Aug Start Sept 2023
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Thai
Laws of Attraction (Sat iQIYI) 8fin - Oh the DRAMA. Why does the insane ex (my true love) remind me of the cartel leader from Romancing the Stone? Even the sides got HEA! It was fucking great!!!!! Charn remains a bonkers spoiled evil murderous brat with a cruel smile beloved by his one true paladin. Also: post it love note trope! Been a long while my old friend. NO SINGING!!!!! I do love that wedding jacket frock coat cape thing Charn wore.
In conclusion: This is a great gay suspense thriller with several solid couples, fun plot, killer characters, queer rep, and a happy ending. Charn may be my favorite lead character of 2023. However, this show is not entirely BL, more on the fringe, like Manner of Death. Add that to several "singing incidents" and pairs being a little weak in the chemistry arena, and this lands safely in 9/10 territory. It’s tons of fun tho: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I Feel You Linger in the Air (Sat grey) ep 3 of 12 - This show is getting more and more lakorn each ep. Apparently the straights are having a class divide arranged marriage crisis. Who cares? Our boy is ALWAYS in trouble. Crazy that he has to save the people who betrayed him in a previous life - but I guess he chose revenge! That's unexpected.
Had to switch to grey and couldn’t find a working rip. It was frustrating and I wouldn’t have bothered except I like this show so much. Still, it means no screen caps because the rez is naff.
Tumblr media
Dangerous Romance (Fri YT) ep 3 of 12 - Uh oh. Kang wants to save Sailom and be his hero. The fact that K’s Pa puts no pressure on him whatsoever, makes me wonder if K's Ma committed suicide or something? It’s definitely the opposite parental dynamic we normally see in BL. I have to say, the pacing is great in the show. And the acting is on point. It’s really great.
Hidden Agenda (Sun YT) ep 8 of 12 - these two just kiss well. I mean not "rip your clothes off Taiwan-style," but sweet young boyfriends-esk. Joke wants to be claimed so bad. It’s great. I enjoyed this ep, unfortunately it looks like we have a manufactured angst drama drop in the next episode. Is this a 10 episode arc? I thought it was 12. It’s odd to have doom happening next episode already.
Tumblr media
Only Friends (Sat YT) ep 4 of 10 - Back story time! Ray and Mew are HARD to watch. Incestuous friend group gay is the worst. Omg I got such QAF vibes from this ep. Nick Boston Sand chats = very throw back 90s gay soaps.
Location game moment: Top's hotel room is also Chan’s apartment in Laws Of Attraction.
Naughty Babe (Sat YT) ep 1 of 8 - Ooo. Est is back! Hi handsome. Head of security suits you. Please lead out the new Waterboyy remake? You’re perfect for the role. (If it must happen.) Yi’s Pa is GREAT. Please give daddy a nice boy? Could that be our secondary couple for this series?
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, with the leads (sorry I was distracted by daddy) we got us an arranged marriage, run away bride, and an amnesia trope. Put in a secret baby and it's squarely 1980's Harlequin. Will there be Vikings? Sex herbs? Pirates? Dub con?
Be Mine Super Star (Mon Viki) ep 9 of 12 - Again with lovely sex scenes, it’s just the plot stringing them together is frayed. Also don’t fuck in an onsen. Both yech and ouch.
That goes for all y’all.
Wedding Plan (Wed YT & iQIYI) ep 7fin - Trash watch here! Honestly this was an okay ending, I’m not mad at it. If you can tolerate Mame and liars (kinda the same thing) you’ll be fine with this show.
Summation: An innocent wedding planner falls haplessly and hopelessly in love with a groom who relentlessly pursued him, even though he’s about to marry someone else. A somewhat lackluster mame offering with less of the usual stellar chemistry, but all of the usual lies and manipulation. 7/10
Love in Translation (Sat iQIYI) ep 3 of 10 - I skip everything to do with Tammy and it’s fine. There’s only about 20 minutes of fine but that’s more than enough. On the bright side. So far. No singing.
My Universe (Sun iQIYI) ep 2 of 24 eps - Cassanova Begins Part 2. Aw. It was sad. Another variation on the “my ghost boyfriend” trope (usually sad). 2/10 I don't do sad BL.
Next up is Merry Go Round featuring the pair from Destiny Seeker (we likey) who want to marry each other, but end up fake engaged to the same woman. Beard squared? Looks silly.
Crazy Handsome Rich (Sun Gaga) ep 1 of 10 - There are 2 things I like about this. I bet you can guess what they are.
Lee Long Shi
The whipping boy trope
There wasn’t enough of either in this first ep. ALSO the captions, sound effects, and voice over are truly next level bad. Utterly atrocious.
The 2 leads fucking around in the end credits was the funniest part of the whole show.
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
Jun & Jun (Korea Thur Viki) ep 7 of 8 - I am confused and frustrated about what the communication delay is between the two Juns. It feels artificial and narratively manufactured. But since this is a short form KBL and I know it will be resolved quickly, I’m not as annoyed as I would be if this were Thai BL. Still it feels audience manipulative. I also feel sorry for Simon. BUT it looks like it’ll be a sweet boyfriends final episode.
Tumblr media
Stay By My Side (Taiwan Fri Gaga) ep 10fin - Omg they’re so cute!!! Taiwan the purveyors of ultimate sappy gay domesticity. I am going to miss having these to nonsencing all over my dash.
This show was an interesting take on the "ghost boyfriend" trope. About a boy who is tormented by hearing the dead, except when he is around one other boy - desperation+proximity = love. Unfortunately, the story was erratic and waffled about. While the leads turned in solid performances and the sappy domesticity was off the charts, it never really had the strength of the narrative convictions such a strong concept should have supplied. Highly rewatchable and enjoyable for that sappy domesticity but not a whole lot more. Still I always give extra credit for the diabetes-inducing sugar content and rewatch capacity. 8/10
Kisseki: Dear to Me (Taiwan Tues Viki & iQIYI) eps 3 of 13(?) - I love the punching thing - there is a lot of violent flirting in this show. I’m not mad about it. Ugh, poor thing has real abandonment issues. And now trust issues. I see why we’re getting 12-14 eps. This gonna be MESSY.
Meanwhile, does EVERYONE have a guest cameo? Not that I’m complaining. Hi BLIHID boys! Now I need to rewatch that show.
Tumblr media
Love Class Season 2 (Korea Fri Viki) eps 7-8 of 10 - Oh my God the next morning w/ couple 2 was so darn cute. They are all such terrible flirts with each other. Honestly, this show makes me laugh more than any other BL currently airing. I’m not sure it is meant to be as funny as I find it. While couple 3 (the mature characters) is by far my favorite, I actually think they don’t work with the other two pairs, they feel superfluous to the show. I like the show better because they’re in it, but it feels like two different BL‘s stuck together. KBL certainly can’t handle more than two couple threads at the same time.
Why R U? (Korea Wed iQIYI) eps 3-4 of 8 - Ugh. I am such a sucker for the FighterTutor dynamic. Why so good? Uh oh. Real kiss! KBL you're spoiling us. But, isn’t sad-seme-hyung dating some chick? Argh. Poor Sunwoo. This show is even worse at repping Fighter's character sympathetically. Who knew that was possible?
My Personal Weatherman AKA Taikan Yoho (Japan Sat Gaga) ep 3 of 8 - The date episode! Even Japan is doing it now. And these two who have been living/fucking together for ages still dance around each other like junior high kids. I gotta say, I watch this one twice because Vicki has different subs from Gaga. I feel like it’s easier to understand if I watch two different translations of the same script. But it’s still quite a taciturn piece.
Minato's Laundromat Season 2 AKA Minato Shouji Coin Laundry Season 2 (Japan Thu Gaga) ep 8 of 12 - Sides are great. It was mostly a cute ep with tiny bits of Progress and a proper Confession. I miss Shin’s siblings. And then… the much loathed amnesia trope. Really?
Everyone say it with me: Must you, Japan?
Stay Still (Hong Kong Tues YouTube) ep 5fin - It ended happier than I was expecting. Optimistic for one couple, and most likely optimistic for the other.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summation: What to say about this offering from Hong Kong? It’s different, a mix of early CBL, Taiwanese shorts, and Pinoy visuals. It felt like the story was 2 independent shorts that had been lengthen and then stuck together, and I wish they'd been approached as separate and tighter entities. Nevertheless, this was a complex little piece,  interesting in a sweaty grungy way, with a certain aura of queer authenticity that made it simultaneously tense, unpredictable, and refreshing. I’m not sure I would necessarily call it BL, but any county’s early foray into the genre usually starts out this way, so perhaps nascent BL? Worth watching, especially if you enjoy stuff from the Philippines and Taiwan. 7/10
In case you missed it
Dinosaur Love ended its run but the final 2 eps are behind a paywall. Word on the street is they aren't good anyway (shocker) so I'm marking it as DNF and moving on with my life. If I can find em grey I'll watch 'em merely so I can give it a rating, but I can't imagine it will get more than 5/10. Seriously, do not bother.
Next Week Looks Like This:
Tumblr media
Coming September
9/15 You Are Mine (Taiwan Gaga) Secretary has to deal with grumpy boss.
9/15 Bump Up Business AKA Bump Up Project (Korea movie) suspected cinema release? I don't know much about what's going on. Last status update. Love story between a trainee who is about to debut and a celebrity from the same agency. Kpop boy group OnlyOneOf has signed up to star in this idol-based BL (based on a webtoon). They’ve been auditioning for this since Libido IMHO. You can watch me chronicle their BL MV series in this post. It’s from Idol Romance who will do sad but can do good kisses (Wish You, Nobleman Ryu, Once Again, Kissable Lips, Poongduck 304, Tasty Florida, Tinted With You).
9/26 I Cannot Reach You AKA I Can't Reach You AKA Kimi ni wa Todokanai (Japan ????) - Adapted from the manga, childhood best friends: The cool, smart one who’s good at everything, and his average, dorky friend who struggles. Always by the other’s side, but not together in the way they truly want to be. No matter how hard they try, their hearts cannot reach each other.
9/27 Absolute Zero (Thai iQIYI) - from 2021, Studio Wabi Sabi and New Siwaj finally bring us this “time loop to prevent tragedy” romance. We don’t always get HEAs from them, so I'm on my guard.
9/? Venus in the Sky (Thai iQIYI) 10 eps
9/? Mr Cinderella 2 (Vietnam YouTube?)
2023 forthcoming BL master post (see comments, some are inaccurate, NOT KEPT UPDATED).
THIS WEEK’S BEST MOMENTS
Tumblr media
Hidden Agenda hitting us up with a hug + lap + kiss. Very nice.
Tumblr media
I think these two might be GMMTV's best cuddlers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Boys, I think your JoongDunk is showing.

what are some of your favorite nonfiction podcasts?
the big one I recommend is just king things - two marxist academics go through the books of Stephen King in publication order. extremely funny and insightful podcast, very accessible (like this is not a theory podcast or anything, it’s very laid back and casual), and I really appreciate their approach to literary criticism.
game studies study buddies is by the same hosts as just king things but this is a theory podcast. Each episode they go over and discuss a book from the field of game studies (ie the academic study of games). I very much recommend you listen to this if you want to like passively absorb critical/leftist theory. The hosts are academics, one of which teaches about games regularly as a professor, so it kind of feels like someone is teaching you about a text. I find it fairly accessible, I learn a lot about games, and as I said they very frequently structure their discussions with left wing theory. I find them very insightful!
blowback is very good, it’s about the imperial history of the United States. a history/journalist type podcast. this can get extremely heavy and difficult to listen to given the subject matter so I would not binge this (I usually listen to it when I’m doing a physical activity) but it’s a really good source of historical information and has helped me develop my political understanding of modern western imperial history. each season covers a different event: S1 is the invasion of Iraq, S2 is the Cuban Revolution, S3 is the Korean War, S4 is the invasion of Afghanistan
ALAB (all lawyers are bad) is good with some caveats. It’s a podcast by a bunch of lawyers who spend a lot of time on twitter discussing how horrible lawyers are, usually either focusing on specific high-profile lawyers (Kavanaugh, Dershowitz), specific american legal regimes (anti-BDS legislation, sanction law, etc), or specific trends in the legal system that causes structural problems (eg lifetime judgeship appointments with no mandatory retirement age). They also sometimes do random funny lawsuits or cover legal responses to events like Jan 6th. A mixed bag in terms of focus but mostly it’s hating on American law and the legal system. This is a critical recommendation because it’s a bunch of lawyers dudes riffing and some of their analysis can be stupid/bad, they say stupid shit that comes off as “anti identity politics” at times, etc. I’m pulling from memory because it’s been a while since I listened to them so I’m sorry if this is overly vague/general. The best way to describe it is chapo-adjacent if that means anything to you lol
and finally the podcast knowledge fight. this is a podcast dedicated to covering and debunking Alex Jones. in all honesty I don’t find this podcast super valuable in terms of analysis, like they are only really focused on debunking the claims Jones makes and explaining why they’re factually wrong. Which like that’s a good thing to do, I’m not saying its bad, but I don’t really need to be convinced Jones is lying about everything lol so I don’t personally find it super useful/insightful. If you have to interact with Alex Jones fans regularly (like family members) then maybe that will be more valuable for you! Totally depends. however the reason I bring them up is because I DO recommend the series of episodes they have titled formulaic objections - in this series they go through all the deposition material from the sandy hook lawsuit against Alex Jones (the one that cost him a billion dollars in damages and court sanctions lol). They play clips of the depositions throughout these episodes, which are so fucking insane to listen to. Like listening to a bunch of employees of an insane fringe right wing media organisation being questioned by lawyers for hours on end is so entertaining lmao. This lawsuit is about the sandy hook school shooting so a warning about the subject matter, it can get dark at times, but on the whole it’s extremely fucking funny to listen to. And the hosts provide a lot of context for what’s going on in the lawsuit, talk about it, and also they debunk the shit Jones lies about in court that you may not know about, so I find that part of it really good.

March 22nd and all the birthday references in ST
Will's birthday has always been important.
A birthday mug in episode 1
Tumblr media
Same mug in Mike's basement. We see it in scenes with El in S1 and Will in S2. Yeah, I think birthdaygate could be about her, too. Will is the only character whose birthday was used to literally save him and the whole town. And we've seen El's birth and birth certificate, but we still don't know when she was born? Strange
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The I forgot your birthday card in Will's room in S1
Tumblr media
But in S2 we only see it when Joyce looks at the Will the Wise drawing. In all the other shots the card is not there, and the drawing is on another wall. This could be a hint at different timelines (of a timeloop?) More screenshots here
Basically, I have two theories about Will's birthday: either people really forgot it in S4, or the Will who was born on March 22 is the brown-eyed Will in the Missing poster, in the timeline we see in the shed scene, and not the hazel-eyed Will we see in the rest of the show. Maybe they hid the truth in plain sight, they let people believe that his eyes were different because he was possessed. But then in S3 they show that Billy's eye color never changes (here) Can't wait to see what this means
Tumblr media
No birthday card in these shots
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lesbianmindflayer found a video posted on the official IG account in August 2017. At the time, they had already filmed S2, they knew there was an important scene about Will's birthday, so why posting the wrong date? Is it actually a mistake, or that's really his birthday in another timeline? We'll see!
Tumblr media
The amazing shed scene. One of my favorite! Joyce talks about Will's 8th birthday. That was in 1979, the year of the massacre. She also mentions his rainbowship, a hint at his queerness, but also a reference to the lab. And I think there's a connection to the "rainbow rocket" near Creel House, and the ship of Brenner's father, who was involved with Project Rainbow, and the first man to wind up in Dimension X. This scene is so important!
Will drawing a spaceship could also be a parallel to Olivia Dunham (Fringe), who drew what she saw in another universe. A Zeppelin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Olivia's drawing (Byler-Polivia parallel and Subject 13)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3x03. Happy Birthday and '76 on the poster. The lifeguard is talking to El and Max here. My theory about what this could mean and what might have happened in 1976 here and here
Tumblr media
The original title of episode 3x06 was The Birthday. There is no birthday in that episode, but after the intro, the song that plays is Stand up and Meet your brother, and then El meets the Mind Flayer/Vecna (as a lab kid, Henry is kinda her brother), who is possessing a boy named William. A surfer boy.
Tumblr media
Episode 3x08, posters of Firestarter and Sixteen Candles. Will is associated with fire, and in Sixteen Candles a girl hopeful thar her 16th birthday is the beginning of a great year, is shocked when her family forgets it because her sister is getting married the next day.
Sixteen Candles and a boy's 16th birthday are also mentioned in S4, and it is likely that S5 is set in 1987, after the time-jump, when Will is 16.
Tumblr media
S4. There are so many mentions of birthdays in this season, it's crazy to think that the writers forgot Will's birthday.
Mentions of birthday and stolen thoughts in the opening scene.
Tumblr media
Birthday party at Rink-o-mania. I could be wrong, but it looks like a party for two people, to me. And there's a hidden reference to the massacre. The game Asteroids was released in 1979 (here)
Tumblr media
The scene that made many people believe that the writers forgot Will's birthday.
March 22. The Rink-o-mania scene is a parallel to the lab scenes, Asteroids was released in 1979, and the day of the massacre El remembered her birth. Maybe a hint that her birthday is also on March 22?
Tumblr media
They call her little baby, and two of the bullies are twins.
Tumblr media
Murray says that a one-year-old won't remember their birthday
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, the wallpaper reminds me of these birds we see in his house, when Alexei explains how the two keys open a gate
Tumblr media
Murray says that his "son" is almost 16
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mention of Sixteen Candles
Tumblr media
Mike's Happy Birthday mug
Tumblr media
At Suzie's, Will mentions Dustin's birthday
Tumblr media
Yeah, I think something will happen to Will in 1987, when he's 16. And it won't be funny, lol. But he'll get his happy ending.
Happy birthday, Will!

Howdy wanderers! It is once again the most audiodrama of Sundays which means its time for my #AudioDramaSunday round up!
Starting off with the season premiere of @innbetween I'm already in love with these Lowlifes and cannot wait to see what schemes they get up to
Tore through season 2 of @thenightpost and am currently halfway through season 3. This show never goes where I expect it to and I'm still not recovered from the season 2 finale it was WILD (affectionate). I cant wait to finish up season 3 and scream <3
First new Technomancy Project episode of the year was this week and GODS it was incredible. You know a battle is well crafted when the emotional weight makes you forget a character is immortal
This isn't an audiodrama but I have to shout out the naming of the year on My Brother, My Brother, and Me because I laughed til I cried. Happy Twenty Fungalore: He heard your wish
Back to audiodramas! New @somewhereohio was stellar as always
I was texting @totcoc0a as Nadia Did ThingsTM because I was NOT ready for that. It was a great episode and I can't wait to see what dipshit teen shenanigans get undercut by the HorrorsTM next
These past 2 weeks of @woebegonepod episodes are some of my favorites in the whole show. My beloved Outlaw Ty returned this week and then David Ault proceeded to make me cry over this British cowboy. If yall aren't listening to woe.begone you gotta start its phenomenal
There was a late Christmas-y treat from @amongthestackspodcast this week! They got some INCREDIBLE voice actors from around the audiodrama world to do a reading of A Christmas Carol and it was marvelous. There are some familiar faces from the Fringes in there as well <3
Episode 1 of @souloperatorpod releases to the public TOMORROW!!! I've listened to episode 1 and y'all. It's so fucking good you're going to be blown away. Tot's writing and voice acting are just phenomenal (Tot GET LOVED IDIOT) and the set up for the show is so good
Here on the Fringes we're about to reach the halfway point of the show!! Supporters got access to this week's episode last night; if you want to join them, check out patreon.com/PineTreePods
And over on @forgedbondspod we have put out our official cast announcement!!!! I'm so excited about this of these wonderful people who are involved and can't wait for you to hear what they're working on
That's all for this week!! There are some exciting things coming this year and I can't wait to continue working on them and sharing them with yall <3

My Unhinged Scott Clarke Theory Post
oKAyyyAYYYYYEYYEYE here we go. In Mr. Clarke's first scene, he's announcing a test to his class. He says:
This will be on the test which will cover chapters 10-12. It will be multiple choice with an essay section.
So naturally, I thought, MULTIPLE CHOICE?? LIKE.....MULTIPLE TIMELINES?? Because I'm slowly losing it. Here's my favorite thing about analyzing Scott Clarke:
Tumblr media
The irony. "You're seeing patterns that aren't there. Coincidence." That's probably true, tbh. But I can't get over the fact that Scott is our very first introduction to the concept of an alternate reality. When he gives his flea and acrobat speech, he says:
You’ve been thinking about Hugh Everett’s Many-Worlds Interpretation, haven’t you? Basically, there are parallel universes. Just like our world, but just infinite variations of it.
And then the boys are like "nah nah nah man you misunderstand." But, let's go back to my OG Scott ramble when I talked about how he serves largely to deliver themes and information we'll need to know, often without knowing that we need to know it yet. Did we understand the significance of his brain lesson in that moment? No. So Scott telling us about infinite variations of our world feels important. Because NOTHING Scott says is throwaway knowledge.
And it wouldn't be a post by me without connecting probably unrelated things because they're the same color, so Scott moves between seasons 1 and 3, but here's his first house:
Tumblr media
And this is Brenner's house. They both have blue doors and brick steps.
Tumblr media
Because I was in the midst of my crazed yellow lamp hunt when I noticed this, I began also keeping an eye out for blue doors because the intro to this episode with Brenner's house has a lot of blue shutters and doors. But it turns out that hypothesis was a flop and blue doors are not a recurring motif. But SCOTT CLARKE HAD ONE. And Brenner had one.
I was writing a lengthy post on everything that seems to connect Scott to HNL, but I feel like aside from the door thing, it's all been said already. So I'll spare you and summarize as:
Scott knows just a few too many things to be natural. His knowledge is convenient as fuck and *suspicious.* I.e. there's no reason for him to know the precise ratio of salt:water to make a sensory deprivation tank off the top of his head. Why did he ask El where she was from the way he asked her ("Where are you from exactly?") with a squinty-eyed, suspicious expression? I also want to tack on this post here by @aemiron-main which is something I myself did not notice, but also links Scott to the lab. The point he makes is that there is an abnormal abundance of extras at HNL who look like Scott.
Additionally, back to Scott's first lines in the show, he says:
Answer 12.3 on the difference between an experiment and other forms of science investigation. This will be on the test.
His first line is not only about multiple choices, but about experimentation and investigation. And if Scott Clarke does one thing in this show, it's set us up for what we're about to witness.
Anyway, back to my doors. There are canonically two versions of Dr. Brenner: Martin and Richard. There are canonically two houses for Mr. Clarke: blue door and brown door. At least one version of Brenner canonically has a blue door. Scott Clarke is canonically related to alternate realities, even if solely because he is the character who introduced them.
Tumblr media
Different colors are often used to differentiate realities. For example, the theory that the yellow UD and the blue UD are different dimensions rather than the same dimension in different times. But also in other shows or movies. Take Fringe, for example. They changed the color of their opening credit sequence from blue to red when the episode took place in the alternate dimension and then to orange when a new timeline was introduced.
What I'm getting at is that maybe there is a version of Scott who IS linked to the lab and maybe there's a version who is not. And yes, I went there because of his blue door.
Now allow me to also make you rewatch the phone call between Dustin and Mr. Clarke. I stripped the music from it and it turns out, Scott isn't telling him how to make a sensory deprivation tank at all. They pulled the audio from The Flea and the Acrobat and had it playing in the background so the audience would hear Scott's voice faintly over the phone, but not what he's saying. Listen to it. It makes no sense. It's the same vibe as when Dustin was pretending to be on the phone with someone about Mews in season 2 for his mom's sake.
What? The hell? This is likely a belated addition in the editing room because they decided it sounded odd without any voice coming from the other side and couldn't get Randy Havens to record anything for them at that point. But it's weird. Of all the audio for them to choose, they chose Scott talking about needing a massive amount of energy and opening a tear in time and space. They could have used him talking about anything else. They could have used him talking about the HAM radio, they could have used this same conversation but like a minute earlier. That would have made the most sense because he's literally talking about a sensory deprivation tank. But they chose this. IT'S. WEIRD.
And in that quote from The Flea and the Acrobat, Scott blatantly says a tear in time AND space. Throughout four seasons of the show, we've seen that these tears are possible and that people can in fact travel through them to the Upside Down. But what about time? What about other Spaces? Scott said there could be INFINITE versions of our world, and as I said before, Scott doesn't say anything without a purpose. Whether or not he himself is involved with the lab or with these other timelines, the simple fact that he talked about them feels like enough evidence that they exist for me.

ok i've finally started season 6 of better call saul (ahhhHHHHHH) so there's no better time than the present for me to vomit out all of my thoughts and feelings on this show thus far
first of all, i already want to start rewatching this show, like, right now, before i even finish it. unreal
my biggest complaint at this point is that i feel they lost the plot with Mike a bit in s5. his is a trickier needle to thread than jimmy's, i think - there's less daylight between parking attendant mike and stone cold fixer mike than there is between jimmy mcgill and saul goodman. but i'm just not convinced that this guy would agree to work for gus fring long-term. i guess we're supposed to believe that the guilt he feels, blaming himself for getting his son killed and depriving kaylee of a dad in the process, is SO overwhelming that he'll willingly do these terrible things so he can "pay her back" with this massive nest egg he plans to build up. but like...this is a conclusion i'm coming to by sitting here overthinking about it, not a conclusion that i feel is coming organically from the show. something just feels off. and i don't think it's intentional, i think they just missed the mark. that said, i liked his "bad choice road" speech to jimmy a lot at the end of the season.
speaking of kaylee, oh my god the scenes with her are goddamn annoying, and the scenes with her mom are even worse. i honestly feel bad for the woman, she's probably not even that bad of an actor but on a show overflowing with people at the absolute top of their game she really stands out as a weak link.
NACHITO 😭 i know he's not gonna make it out of here alive. poor guy. he just really loves his dad!!!!!!!!
Lalo is such a FANTASTIC addition tho. it's so hard to add a compelling character this late in the game but he's so charismatic he even makes me hate Hector Salamanca scenes like 80% less
I could have done with less Gus Fring on this show in general. he was incredible on BrBa, but he just...doesn't need to be fleshed out more? and he kind of isn't, he's just around a lot? idk, but i'll take this as an opportunity to share that one time i saw Giancarlo Esposito wearing a black cowboy hat and buying a package of raw chicken at Whole Foods in Austin TX like 9 years ago
ok now onto the lawyer-y side of things. in contrast to Mike's story, I think Jimmy/Saul's is pretty much pitch perfect. i believe his decisions, i believe his hesitations, i believe the push and pull.
(sidenote just remembered i also deeply hate the salamanca twins, always have always will, on BrBa they always felt like some lame reddit bro's idea of a "badass villain" they're just so flat and boring and i wish they weren't in this show either ugh)
anyway back to Jimmy - obviously, this show would not work whatsoever if Jimmy didn't work as a character, but it's still like, HOLY SHIT do they make him work. he's so tragic, you just KNOW that he could be better and you want him to be better and you know he wants to be better but: he can't. he won't. we know where this story is heading. and at his core he will always be this boy who really really really loved his big brother and never felt that love returned and never will and now i'm going to cry just thinking about the fucking scummy lawyer from breaking bad oh my goddddd
finally: kim. kim. KIM. having only watched 6x01 at this point - i feel like i've only barely scratched the surface on understanding who this character is. i don't know what to say, but i just rewatched this scene and it's maybe my favorite thing i've ever seen, with the exception of like 8 other kim scenes (most of which consist of her dressing down an idiot man, her boyfriend included)
JIMMY AND KIM FOREVER 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 and if you're wondering if i'm having Fic Thoughts, the answer is yes, yes i am
p.s. i've been listening to some of the insider podcast episodes and my GOD what a breath of fresh air to listen to peter gould and vince gilligan after being an unwilling prisoner of roberto aguirre sacasa for 7 goddamn years

Watching the “Jacksonville” episode of Fringe. This was always a favorite of mine. There’s some real Stranger Things vibes going on here, too.
For a while I thought Olivia was a Five, but now I really think she’s an Eight. The whole taken advantage of as a child and wanting to make sure it never happens to anyone else thing is a huge part of her story.
Her being an 8 gives that cortexiphan vision where she rescues a little girl and discovers it's her own childhood self a whole extra significance. As it does the fact that she says, as an adult, that she's not afraid of anything anymore.

8 TV shows can say a lot about a person!
Certainly for me, I think! I’m listing here many of my personal recs which (as this is a Haladriel blog) I will be talking about them in relation to Haladriel, if applicable.
Thanks for the tag @pursuitseternal 🌟
Without further ado:
———
1. Needless to say, The Rings of Power.
I’m a total sucker for Hot Bad Men™️ so I never stood a chance against Saubrand.
Blorbo aside, my attachment to this show far preceded my Saurondriel obsession — I was completely enamored with it since Episode 1, the first big scenic shot of Valinor; the Two Trees; the epic soundtrack; stunning costumes. I had tears in my eyes during the boat sailing into the light of Valinor. The scale of storytelling far exceeded my admittedly meager expectations.
Let me be clear: I did not want to like this show and was set on dismissing it as an inferior fan service following The Hobbit franchise. Next thing I knew my inner child had been awakened and my love for Tolkien universe rekindled. Add to this concoction my weakness for complex villains and the epic reveal of Hot Sauron — boom, I was done. I’ll never recover from this.
Tumblr media
2. FRINGE.
This show has such a special place in my heart. It’s sci-fi, mystery, time travel, alternate timelines, quantum physics mumbo jumbo, love story, and a father/son story all rolled into one amazing series that ended abruptly and went under the radar for so long.
In this universe, Denethor II has reincarnated into a much more gentle, sweeter Dr. Walter Bishop who actually loves his son and will put his life at risk for his son over, and over, and over again.
I also have an undying admiration for Anna Torv’s Olivia Dunham (I’m planning a separate post of all my fictional female crushes over the years). I was so giddy to see her in The Last of Us — she’s an underrated actress who deserves to be in the spotlight.
Tumblr media
3. LOST.
Tumblr media
Probably the first TV show that I actually got seriously invested in as a young adult and since then I’ve watched it so many times in every phase of my life. I’ve named our new puppy after Penelope Widmore. My computer name is Not-Pennys-Boat. I’ve been thirsting after stranded-at-sea disheveled ruffians since Sawyer, who is my favorite character who was the antagonist at the beginning (I’ve been saying that Halbrand is the perfect mix of Sawyer and Aragorn).
Sawyer/Juliet is my absolute favorite onscreen couple, pre-Haladriel. Their chemistry is fire. They just work. (Hated him with Kate.) Just tell me this doesn’t scream Haladriel (aesthetically):
Tumblr media
Bonus: scene look familiar? Desmond did it first 🔥
Tumblr media
4. Outlander.
Ok, believe it or not, I wasn’t quite watching this for the copious amount of steamy sex just because I was watching with my husband AND my mom over the pandemic when we lived together, and needless to say it was quite awkward 😂 I have a particular inexplicable love for Scotland (despite having only gone there twice), so when I discovered the series I went head over heels in love with the landscape, costumes, historic details, music (Bear McCreary), mythology, etc. Oh, and the hot Scotsman too 🫠
Jamie and Claire are the epitome of cosmically connected soulmates, their love transcending across lifetimes. Their early sex scenes are 🔥🔥🔥.
Bonus fact: Sam Heughan was named after Samwise Gamgee by his Tolkien hippie parents. He’s been casually broadcasting that he wants a role in TROP. Could we help him? If enough of us use the tag #SamHeughanForCeleborn, will they give Galadriel the husband she deserves?
Tumblr media
5. DARK.
Did I mention I’m a big fan of quantum physics, philosophy, time travel, and parallel universes? No? Well, this brooding German show just about represents everything I love. The perfectly planned 3-season show is everything you could ever hope for in a good TV series. It’s moody, intelligent, mind-bending, and heart-wrenching. Watch the first episode, and by the end of it, you’ll be hooked, I promise you. Oh and for the love of god, do not watch it dubbed.
Tumblr media
6. Norsemen.
Ok, I don’t typically watch too much comedy. But I do like The Office. I also like medieval movies/shows. What if I said Norsemen was basically a medieval version of The Office? Oh, it’s so dumb. It’s so dumb I almost didn’t finish the first episode. But once you get in the groove, it’s hilarious as fuck. On Netflix.
Tumblr media
7. True Detective.
I don’t know how many times I’ve rewatched this show — it’s my comfort show I watch by myself on my laptop on rainy evenings. I don’t know what that says about me, and I don’t want to know 😂
Aside from the intrigue of the creepy Southern Gothic and unsettling cult themes, I mainly attribute my obsession with the show to Matthew McConaughey’s brooding Rust Cohle. He’s tall and lanky, a total weirdo, a lone wolf, has commitment issues, single-minded about his job, and (a bit more than) slightly unhinged. Also known as my kind of dude.
Tumblr media
8. Better Call Saul.
Greatest of all spin-offs, who knew that the show about the sleazy lawyer who represented the world’s greatest meth kingpin was actually a love story in disguise?
Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn as Jimmy and Kim are the perfect embodiment of a modern couple who are equals and opposites, bring out each other’s best and worst, and have an undying respect for one another which serves as the backbone for their relationship. They even take turns towing on opposite sides of the law, pushing and pulling each other’s inclinations towards Good & Bad, only to find each other drowning in the dense grey area that is all too real. They are the *could have beens* for Galadriel and Sauron in the best case scenario (I could go on with the similarities but I don’t want to spoil the show).
Bonus fact: Gennifer Hutchison was the writer for both BCS and TROP. This fact should speak volumes about the kinds of discussions that would have occurred in the writer’s room regarding the nature of Galadriel and Sauron’s relationship. Watch the show and you’ll understand.
Tumblr media
I’ve got many more recommended shows, but I think these 8 have been my primary emotional support shows over the past few years. I debated including Raised By Wolves, but as it was prematurely canceled there isn’t a whole lot I could say about it, despite having a fantastic premise (and which I still recommend people watch).
No pressure tags (but also curious to know): @starlady66 @maironiiel @demonscantgothere @scriberated @wyrd-syster @formerlyir @nenyabusiness @thegreatzombieartisan and any others who want to join.

Ducktales the Phanthom and the Soreress. Episode on the duck girls (well Violet. Hummingbird. Violet dads adopted Lena) Lena training her magic. Magica gets her powers back. Lena added to the list of kids getting super power form. Gladstone losing his luck. How was phantom bolt. (I look it up and phantom is play by Giancarlo Esposito. Moff Gideon, Gus Fring)
Pretty happy to see another episode focusing on those three! I'll never say no to episodes focused on either Webby or Lena, and Violet is quickly becoming a favorite of mine as well.
Magica may have gotten her powers back, but at least Lena now knows how to use her own, and she appears to be much more powerful than her aunt. I do worry that it might come back to bite them eventually, but hopefully Lena will be up to the task up taking her down when the time comes.
As cool as it is to see her powered up, I hope that's not her new default form. I much prefer Lena's usual appearance.
Poor Gladstone lost his cheat code and had to exist in the real world for a bit. Unfortunately, I doubt he'll learn anything from the experience. I do have to wonder how Gladstone got that magical luck in the first place, since I doubt he'd be smart enough to make it happen on his own.
Phantom Blot was pretty neat, a more sympathetic kind of villain than we usually get in this show, though still very much evil since he tried to kill Lena. I can't blame him for his feelings on magic after what Magica did. I'd probably feel the same way.

FanFiction ask game 4,24,40,75 please ☺️
HIII @liz8080!!! Thank you so much for the ask! 4. How do you choose which fics to write? they tend to chose themselves... no i'm serious. I start off with an idea (sometimes), and start to write and then the story goes yeahhhhhh we aren't feeling that you are going to go.... HERE. And there we go lol. Sometimes its just sitting at the computer going "ok- what are we writing today, let's find out" and them 4 hours later looking at it going "huh... ok." Not very technical I know, but that is like 90% of the stories lol. I have only really plotted one out with an outline, and by chapter 4 the story was off to the races laughing at me Guardian. 24. How do you choose whose POV to write in? Hmmm, that I think depends on the story and how I want to tell it. So I have one I am working on where Inuyasha is trying to make stovetop ramen for the first time, so it is in his POV. Other times I am in Kagome's. I tend to write in Inuyasha's POV I have noticed, but usually thats because I relate to him as a character, the outsider that is just kinda on the fringes, hides his emotions because then no one can hurt him, so I get him. I will say this... writing in Sesshomaru's POV is HARD...
40. What is your favorite world that you’ve created for a fic?
That would probably be the I Object World. I know a lot of people would think Guardian, but I Object was really personal, and yeah its based in New York which I know Very Very well, but at the same time, it was creating a new version of it that was more integrated with humans and yokai, but also not.
Though I do have to say I am also loving the Sense and Sensibility world, but that is lovingly borrowed from Jane Austen, so I don't take credit for it!
75. Is there a particular fic that readers gravitated towards that you didn’t expect?
So one is Just Tell Me What He Did..., it started as a reason for @neutronstarchild and I to rewatch Inuyasha... you know just to take note of all the modern era episodes... really... we swear... and it was just fun to write. When we added a surprise last chapter, it took off, when it was our way of explaining how all the cleanup in the modern era was accomplished, thinking Sesshomaru would absolutely still be alive, but its funny, and we love it!
The other is Soul in the Beast's Eyes, another collab written with Neutron. It is a birthday fic for Elkonigin, and focused on an Inuyasha whose demon took over at a young age and didn't release control until he was much older, and how that demon would react to an injured Kagome, taking care of her, and them slowly starting to love each other. It was a blast to write, and the fact that so many people have enjoyed it and love it really in some ways surprised me and also made me smile.

Thank you so much for the questions!!!!!!

Here it is, folks, my final assessment of Better Call Saul. Disclaimer: this may be long.
About a month ago, on October 27, I decided to go through my phone contacts. Who doesn't do that every once in a while? Well, I decided to call up a certain someone (who I honestly thought had forgotten about me because of how long it had been), and to my surprise, after maybe two rings, I heard a voice on the other end. Was it seriously her?! I've changed my number three or four times over the years (easier than transferring data), but always made sure to keep that number written in sharpie on a piece of paper in my wallet. This will all become relevant in a bit, keep reading!
Seasons 1 to 4 were setting up Jimmy and Kim's relationships with the other characters, like Howard, Chuck, the members of the cartel, and Mike. It was also setting up the audience to understand the involvement in the cartel. There were several callbacks to earlier seasons going along, which was a nice touch.
Season 5 was where Kim started to change (for the better), and we saw just how crazy she was getting. The whole Mesa Verde plot line was constructed in a way to bring out Kim's true colors.
Season 6 was the meat of the story, where the writers really stepped on the gas. I was talking to my girlfriend, and was baffled that in such a short time (starting from S6 E7), they wrapped up a beautifully written show. No spoilers for the series finale, though!
Season 7, which we're still working on, is turning out really great. Check out my girlfriends page for a pinned post about it. I'm just giving her ideas and helping her brainstorm. Asking the "what if" questions, and throwing some stuff from left field to see what she thinks.
Back to October 27. I was walking on the beach that night, cliche I know, and called the number. I immediately hung up, because what was I supposed to say? It had been 5 YEARS since I had last heard from her, much like Jimmy and Kim in S6. We started talking again, and on October 29, I started watching and taking notes on BCS.
I would come home from work, watch a few episodes, and then call her to discuss. I missed maybe one night because work ran late. Bonding over this show, and seeing how Jimmy would do anything for Kim really made me enjoy the show that much more. As far as the ending, I really liked the way the writers chose to leave us with an open door. (Which is why S7 or another spin off would be great!)
I'm throwing a little questionarre up because I accidentally clicked the wrong button on mobile, and I'm new to Tumblr also.
Thank you for introducing me to the show, and the other shows we have to watch, baby girl. I love you 💜. @thekimspoblog

Today's translation #70
Kubo Mitsurou's episode commentary
Episode 12. Part 1.
I drew the storyboards up to the scene when Victor cries and then I couldn't come up with lines that would sound right. I've rewritten this scene again and again and finally I came up with the line "I didn't think that Katsuki Yuuri is such a selfish person", and then I decided how Yuuri would answer. Yuuri lifted Victor's fringe up like a noren [curtain hung at Jp shop/restaurant entrance] - even in a situation like this one, Yuuri still surprises Victor. When I finished writing this scene, at last I could move forward with writing the last episode.
What Victor said to Yuuri when Yuuri was standing on the rink, isn't what Victor really thought/felt - these words were the result of Victor choosing the words that would motivate Yuuri the most and "acting like Victor should act".
My favorite moment in this episode is the monologue right before the start of Yuuri's skate. Yuuri said the same line in episode 1, so it's like he went back to the starting point, or should I say: this is the moment when Yuuri at last accepted himself. I was crying while drawing the storyboards.

A beautiful Byler-Polivia parallel, Will's truesight and other parallels with Fringe
I said I could make 50 posts after my rewatch of S4. I'm gonna start with the parallels with one of my favorite shows. Let's go! @lilitblaukatz
Olivia Dunham is Subject 13, and she has the ability to see and travel to the parallel world. In ST there are many mentions of number 13, and imo that's a hint that there are different timelines (not actual parallel worlds) and we've been seen them since the very first episode. In fact, Will mentions the number 13 in the first scene of the show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Will-Olivia parallels
It was a seven. I read many theories about this moment and Mike's strange reaction. That maybe Will is in a Vecna vision, and that's why the lights flicker and "Mike" doesn't know what he is talking about.
Tumblr media
Well, I think Vecna is spying Will; those eyes on the skis behing Mike! I think this detail proves that Will's abduction wasn't a coincidence.
Tumblr media
But if this Mike is actually Vecna, shouldn't he know about the game and the Demogorgon? He can read minds, wouldn't he at least try to smile?
Then I remembered why this scene seemed familiar. It reminds me of a scene of Fringe, ep 3x15, when Olivia, who can't control her powers yet, travels to the parallel world and for a moment sees the other Dr Bishop, who is quite surprised by what she says.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(in 3x15 Olivia also meets Peter for the first time)
So, I don't know, maybe Will does have a Vecna vision later, at home. But when he talks to Mike, I think he's seeing a Mike from another timeline/or he ended up in another timeline (because the gate just opened?) I don't know. Maybe a timeline where Karen interrupted the campaign earlier, or Will rolled the dice and won. That would explain Mike's confusion, and the flickering lights.
And now I'm thinking about other parallels
The zeppelin and the Rainbowship
The first time Olivia sees the parallel world, she draws this
Tumblr media
What if Will didn't just imagine the Rainbowship, but drew what he SAW, like he drew the vines?
Tumblr media
Nina kinda looks like a little spaceship, so, maybe... I don't believe what Owens said. I think they were already using the silos before El lost her powers.
(EDIT: Spoilers of The First Shadow- Now we know that in 1943, the ship of Brenner's father wound up in Dimension X, during the Philadelphia Experiment, which was connected to the Rainbow Project. So, maybe Will's Rainbowship is a reference to that and a hint at different timelines)
Tumblr media
But back to Olivia and Will. Here she's drawing while the adults are talking about her, and Will is drawing while Joyce and Hopper are talking with Owens, who gives major Walter Bishop vibes, and even has a son named Peter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Byler and Polivia, the parallel of their first meeting
The Rainbowship is mentioned in the shed scene, the same scene in which Mike reminds Will of the first time they met.
In 3x15 Olivia draws the zeppeling, and in the same episode Peter finds her sketchbook and sees her drawing of the field of white tulips. Her drawings, that are connected to her powers and visions, help him to find her. And this is a beautiful parallel with Will and Mike, because Peter's life changes when she meets Olivia. They talk about her abusive father (in the shed scene Jon mentions Lonnie) and it's after they talk in that field that Peter decides to accept his new family and his new life.
Asking Will to be his friend is the best thing Mike has ever done, and their lives changed too, when they met.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't think there are parallel worlds in ST, just different timelines, because for some reason they're stuck in a loop. They mention time loops a few times, and Max even mentions it when they are in Henry's house.
In S2 Nancy tells Murray that his timeline is wrong, and in his letter Hopper says that you can't turn back the clock... But then Henry does it in the flashback. There's also this Back to the future line: The appropriate question is 'When the hell are they?'
Tumblr media
And if there's really a time loop, I think Will and Henry can see other timelines or maybe the timelines are merging? There are so many hints.
From Will's Marty Mcfly outfit in S1, to Henry seeing the Mind Flayer when he was a kid. The crystal ball in the Will the Wise drawing, used by clairvoyants, the Forever Clock that Dustin gives to Will, Will's name engraved on the grandfather clock and him saying, in his Will the Wise outfit, that he's seen into the future. If they're stuck in a time loop, then the future is actually the past, since the story has repeated itself many times. Steve and Robin even mention the whole going back to future/present thing.
In 4x01 El says that they're all time travellers, so yeah, if Olivia can see and travel to a parallel world, maybe in ST people can see (or travel to) different timelines of the timeloop.
Tumblr media
Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen
In the Nina scenes I noticed that Thirteen is often in the frame with El or Twelve (who I think represents Will). At first I didn't understand why. She never speaks or interacts with El. And I didn't know why they cast a girl that looks like young Millie. The actress said that the crew kept telling her that she looked like Millie, and before S4 many fans speculated that she would play El. Everything means something in this show, and the casting is always on point, so I thought maybe they want us to notice something? Then I remembered that Olivia was Subject 13.
So that kid could be a subtle hint that we're seeing different timelines in Nina. From the beginning, when El wakes up and see the rooms of Four and Nine. 4+9=13
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Twelve and Thirteen
Tumblr media
Twelve and Thirteen in the Rainbow Room. It's interesting that in both these scenes they focus on 12, "Will", and 13, who looks like little El, after they show the twins. Willel, twins, and different timelines...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brenner and Thirteen's room
Tumblr media
Thirteen and Eleven (and Twelve)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really think that Thirteen is a reference to Olivia, and since Olivia can see parallel worlds, maybe this is a hint at the ability to see/travel to other timelines. I already thought that El was seeing different timelines, and that she was actually there, with her mind, but this is a nice detail.
*Another interesting 13 mention. The 13th birthday of a kid named Georgie. George, like George Smith in the play? We know that Will's birthday is important, and since this scene is about his parents, I think this mention is connected to both Will and Henry/Edward
Hm, a bit lost, because of other timelines/a time loop?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, I love Fringe and I love that ST has so many parallels with such a beautiful story.

Its #AudioDramaSunday once again my dear wanderers and there were so many good things listened to this weekend
Starting off with @thesiltverses because I'm about half way through season 2 and it's marvelous. Every ep leaves me going "Huh. That was fucked up!" in the best way!! Also Michelle Kelly was in one of the episodes I listened to this week and while her character does get brutally murdered she did a great job 🥰
@re-dracula has officially entered the list of podcasts that have made me cry at my desk at work. Even knowing what happens to Lucy I was still there, sobbing in front of a spreadsheet. Excellent excellent work by everyone involved
My beloved Shed GangTM has returned in Tiny Terrors which means its officially spooky season. Also there was a patreon episode that has been haunting me since I heard it. I love Tiny Terrors and can't wait to hear more from the Shed Gang
Speaking of patreon, patreon early access for @malevolentcast was this week and whooboy. Another fantastic episode from Malevolent and that is all I will say on that
At Louis @ethicstownpod'srec I listened to episode one of @thewyrdsidepodcast and wowowowowow. I need to finish the Silt Verses first so I can fully devote myself to the Wyrd Side but it's scratching that perfect spooky season/Ghost Files itch I adore it so much already
And of course we had @kingmakerpod triumphant return for season 2! I love this show so so much and this episode was so fucking fun. They sent my favorite criminals to prison and gods it was great. Brilliant foley work and sound designing this ep. Also @doctorloup . That is all.
On the Fringes front I'm starting to edit in earnest and gods this CAST!!! Writing is also underway for season 3 and its a hell of a ride so far :)
In other podcast news, writing is also underway for @forgedbondspod and im sending some emails to see if I can fill out the last 2 spots on my lead cast 👀 I'm so excited about this show! And I can't wait to announce the 2 cast members I've got already, yall are gonna love them
I'm training a new hire this week which means less podcast time at work but hopefully there will be enough time to Audiodrama Sunday next week
I've got a lot going on both with writing and with day job and I'm just
I'm in a really good spot and am so happy to see it

nine people i'd like to get to know better <3
Tagged by: @hearthouses and @ladyculebras
Last Song: "Don't Swallow the Cap" by The National
Favorite Color: I love blue-green colours like teal. Also brick red. Also various purples.
Last Book: "Heartless" by Dia Reeves. I really enjoyed it, but felt it was sort of rushed in parts. Could have used another 100 pages to allow it to breath more.
Last Movie: "Santa Camp", a documentary about a professional Santa organization and attempts to increase diversity among Santas. Follows three new attendees - a black Santa, a trans Santa, and a disabled Santa with spina bifida. Pretty interesting. (I saw it January 3rd. So after Christmas! But 18 days ago because I haven't been watching movies this month I guess.)
Last TV Show: Currently watching the 2nd season of "The Newsreader" (one episode left). It's about a nightly news program in late 1980s Australia. The leads are Anna Torv (Fringe, Mindhunter) and Sam Reid (Lestat). Excellent series. I find all the questions of news as a public service providing information vs news as entertainment (or at least needing to be engaging enough to maintain viewership) very interesting.
Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Savoury. Sweet is also good. (If it's a question of sweet vs salty it's definitely sweet)
Relationship Status: Single
Last Thing I Googled: I was googling "aqua" and "teal" for the colours question because I mix them up
Current Obsession: "Interview with the Vampire" tv series. Which you can probably tell from my blog. I'd say since the first episode aired but I knew I was going to be obsessed since the first trailer for season 1 came out. Obsessed enough to keep checking a bunch of the show tags on tumblr even with them regularly giving me psychic damage <3
Looking Forward To: Season two of IWTV. Also going to my friend's place in a few days.
tagging @jeaniefranklins, @queenofattolia, @firstaudrina, @cypresssunns, @skywalkery, @blueiight, @lynnenne, @misterandry, & @jiggit (and anyone else who feels like it! just say I tagged you)
