Queen Alicent was arrested on the serpentine steps as she made her way back to her chambers. Her captors wore the seahorse of House Velaryon upon their doublets, and though they slew the two men guarding her, they did no harm to the Dowager Queen herself, nor to her ladies. The Queen in Chains was chained again and taken to the dungeons, there to await the pleasure of the new king. By then the last of her sons was already dead.

sorry but if you actually think Cancel Culture ™ is a thing then you're kinda a dumb fuck. Cancel culture isn't real, holding people accountable for their actions is a thing, but this whole narrative around Canceling that's evolved over the past few years isn't real. It's never been an actual thing. Its just a fear mongering tactic to further vilify the groups who were being harmed in the first place and victimize the person who did something wrong.
Your fav being called out for playing an antisemitic video game that directly gives profits to a hugely influential TERF, who's said openly she sees getting profits / royalty cheques from her franchise as endorsements for her bigotry, is not "cancel culture". It's called the consequences for your actions.
You have every right to do and play whatever the fuck you want, but that goes both ways. If you go out of your way to build up and financially support these people who're openly advocating to take away trans people's rights, then you get to deal with people not trusting you because of it. You get to deal with trans and Jewish folks not feeling safe around you, not wanting to be around you or not wanting to talk to you. Because you have shown that you care more about nostalgia and temporary personal emotional gratification over the wellbeing and safety of those communities in the real world.
People have explained why supporting HL is wrong, people have explained why it's harmful, people have explained in detail the issues with this situation. You. Just. Don't. Care. You don't listen, or read, because in the end, you can't be bothered enough to put in the effort of having 1 moment of critical thinking.
It's not that folks don't have arguments or evidence, it's that it clearly does not matter to you. It's that the value of an antisemitic game full of one horrific thing after another is worth more to you than the real, living breathing people who are going to be, and have been, affected by this.
You come across as a bad person. Not because some person on Twitter determined you must be, but because your actions speak far louder. And they're screaming red flags.
I'm not going to argue with you over your own bad decisions and life choices. You've made your bed and are mad that people are telling you to lie in it.

the thing is. you can't let anger overtake your heart. it will turn you bitter and helpless, chewing your own tongue till it bleeds while nothing gets done. you have to let your love for the indigenous peoples of turtle island, of aotearoa, of australia, of palestine, to guide you to action, to ignite your heart in hope. justice is possible. many hands make the burden light

just realised something random: I've always been kinda sad that there isn't any media that my parents liked and shared with me, that sort of thing. I know of things that they like, of course, but it was never something they showed me or anything.
and I just realised that's because it was never something nice, something fun, something they wanted to share - no, they only ever brought up things that they liked as a way to say that everything I liked was bad.

Soo we were talking about an au where Alabaster also died and went straight to Tartarus in the TA server :)
Alabaster laid limply on his back, hot dark asphalt digging into his wounds, the melted parts clinging to his torn clothes from the opening his broken armour gave. His whole body was aching, his head pounding. His magic was long spent to it's barest slivers and Zeus was still droning.
"–have been found guilty of high treason, attempted regicide, use of child soldiers–"
Oh yes, never mind the fact he was 15. They never looked at the mirror, did they? He would've loved to chuck his sword to the god. Unfortunately his sword was now a puddle of bronze 2 feet away from him.
"–destruction of property, destruction of holy property, murder, attempted murder–"
Alabaster threw a dirty look. How dare they talk about murder, when he was the one surrounded by the corpses of his siblings that they murdered! They were kids, just kids and now they would never got to grow up.
"–refusal of surrender and various other war crimes. Any words for yourself?"
Any other occasion he would've laughed that he brought the 'mighty' king of the gods to his feet. Any other occasion other than him laying at a scene of mass slaughter and the god looming over him in a perceived display of power. Alabaster was not going to give him the satisfaction, he wasn't afraid, he wasn't going to beg like Zeus hoped. That would be unbecoming of Kronos's general. His trembling was a result of his anger.
He looked at the god's smug smirk, mustered every bit of strength left in him and—
Spat at Zeus’s feet.
Zeus quickly withdrew his foot, his lips turning downwards in displeasure. A hint of satisfaction bloomed in Alabaster's chest in his reaction, which got tampered when the smirk returned to the god's face.
"Very well," Zeus sneered, "your mother has begged for your life."
That made his heart skip a beat.
"It was vetoed against by the collective council of Olympus. We simply cannot allow you to corrupt anyone else. As my position as the ruler of the gods allow, I declare–"
Alabaster couldn't hear the rest because of the increased ozone and the crackling ion in the air. He could feel his hairs standing up, every inch of him screaming danger, the scars on his body tingling. The ringing of his ears reminded him of being submerged in water and all he could do was simply keep his head above water, something he had experienced personally thanks to Perseus Jackson.
Funnily enough, he had been surrounded by corpses that time, too.
He glanced to Zeus’s face. There was an uncomphrensible glint in the god's eyes mixed with disdain, as if Alabaster was nothing more than a mere bug he wanted to squash.
"Fuck you." Alabaster mouthed.
A blinding flash of light was the last thing he saw.

well, despite the wiki's utter lack of useful info, my love of wildly underdeveloped dead moms with little to no info won out, and I now have an updated design for Ikona
for whatever it's worth, I spent several hours comparing key facial features of the Hoshido siblings and Sumeragi to try and reverse-design what Ikona might have looked like, and came up with the shittiest Punnett squares to figure out eye/hair color (eye/hair color aren't Mendelian traits, Punnett squares for calculating eye/hair color are actually BS). I don't...actually think Kozaki spent the time to try and draw familial similarities, not the way Nuri does at least, but damn if I didn't try to find similarities/differences to work out my design for Ikona
