I'd love to see more gender nonconforming characters in doll lines!

Doll lines have become so much more diverse and imaginative with the fashion but I notice that the femme-presenting dolls are still always feminine and the masc-presenting dolls are always masculine. I never see a "girl" doll with short hair or a "boy" doll come with a skirt. Doll lines have yet to challenge gendered fashion and it's so stifling and heteronormative.

Toy companies need to consider that boys who like dolls usually also like feminine fashion. If you make "boy" dolls but only assign all of them masculine presentation, you're still telling kids to conform to their assigned gender presentation. There are also gnc girls who would totally get into dolls if it didn't exclude them. Dolls and fashion aren't exclusively feminine!

Trans kids also resonate deeply with gender nonconforming characters, I know I did. Even if I admired the fashion and design of feminine "girl" dolls, they didn't call out to me as an afab trans kid. When kids express an ideal version of themselves through playtime, LGBTQ+ kids deserve to feel seen in the toys they play with too. It would also help de-gender fashion for kids overall!

Anyone have tips for dealing with doll clothes that stain? And for protecting white clothes?

I have a bunch of Lol Omg doll clothes and accessories that fit great, look great, etc etc but some of them stain a lot.

My Draculaura’s chin after she wore a Lol Omg choker for a few hours.

It’s not just dark colors either. I put a pink skirt on one of my dolls and left it on her for awhile. She wound up with hot pink smears on her thighs.

What can be done about those clothes and accessories? Would sealant help keep them from staining in or is there something else to do?

Also white clothes. There’s a few clothes that are mainly white but also have little accents of color. How do I keep the colorful parts from bleeding into the white?

i have a hard time with this doll because she is so precious but the person who had these dolls before me (most likely a kid) used a blue marker to color some of the dolls' hair and i have no clue how to get it out. i've tried baking soda and shampoo but it didn't helpp. i really don't wanna use bleach. does anyone know how to get marker out of doll hair?

i love her in spite of her green curls and i hope to glam her up one day, try and make her look as good as she does in her original look... without any of the original items lol
